well they call it an application but it's basically just you fill out ur information and they have a lottery to pick if u get campus housing or not

it's possible to do all 4 but people who stick with university housing usually go for upperclassmen apartments 3rd and 4th year

and then theres grad student housing

they also prioritize first years and there are dorms that are known as second year dorms, so after that it gets harder to get campus dorms

(also trust you don't want to eat dining hall food every day all 4 years)

If you got invited to the CCS open house, you were accepted to CCS. They made their decisions back in mid-February(assuming you applied by the priority deadline).

Not necessarily, I can only say that receiving it means you got into it, because the email came from the director of the CCS Mathematics department

Mathematics was my second choice major(I will be double majoring in physics+math), but it was still one of the majors I listed on my UC application.
