WashU's tuition is ~85k a year, if you're going to an average school at ~9k a year, than that means you'd have 76k to spend on whatever housing you want

And good colleges are for the most part ~40k or so

For me at least WashU hits all the most important boxes

I do have some cheaper colleges in mind ofc, UVA, UNC-CH, UCSB, etc

But WashU still has a better quality of life so that + pre med + it being in a living city vs a suburb makes it best imo

Vanderbilt has all those things as well but not as good with pre med

Vanderbilt is definitely on par with WashU for pre med, having a sister @ washu for pre med, as well having family working in med admissions 💀. Both have top undergrad life science programs, as well as a major medical center and school attached to them for research. I’d argue it easier to get a higher gpa at vandy for pre med bc you can major in MHS or do like Bio + HOD
