you should be able to find a major course sheet online which will tell you classes you need to take

What is Unitrans?
Unitrans is the bus system of the city. It’s run by ASUCD (UC Davis’s undergrad student government) meaning you can also become a driver if you’d like! It is free to ride for all UC Davis undergraduate students that show an AggieCard (student id) upon boarding. Make sure to take your AggieCard out before you board so everyone can get on quicker.

Also, note that if you’re a later stop on a route, it can get especially crowded on school days. Make sure to especially listen to the bus driver in these cases. If they tell you to put your backpack on your lap, please do it.

Yolobus
While Unitrans is for the city of Davis, Yolobus is for the entire county Davis is located in (Yolo County) along with parts of Sacramento and Solano counties. For example, if you need to get from Sacramento Airport (SMF) to campus, you’ll likely be riding Yolobus. Just like Unitrans, Yolobus is free for UC Davis undergrad students who present their AggieCards.

Walking
You can walk in parts of Davis—the city is quite flat. Whether you’ll get housing within walking distance of school post-first year seems to be unlikely in my experience unless you either snag on-campus housing or gun for off-campus housing months in advance (think winter/early spring before the fall you need it). However, be cautious of cyclists if you walk. Especially during the first few weeks of school, many cyclists will not be very good at cycling, so you’ll need to watch out.

Safe Rides
Going out at night? Safe Rides may be something you want to look into. 7 days a week during select hours at night, you can get escorted between on-campus locations or from an on-campus location to an off-campus one. More info here: https://police.ucdavis.edu/safe-rides

I am considering a minor in Economics or Physics while at UC Davis.
As far as the pre-requisites for both minors are concerned, they will be fullfilled due to general education requirements or CS requirements overlap anyways. The only concern is the additional course load in 3rd and 4th year.

Economics needs around 5 econ courses to be finished before graduation (any upper division* course counts). And physics needs 6 courses (any upper division* course counts).

The difference here is that Economics overlaps with my general education requirements, hence there won't be a higher courseload just a replacement of courses. Physics on the other hand will give me 6 extra courses (1 more course per quarter for the last two years) instead of replacing my GE courses.

*Upper division courses means any course that is done as a pre-requisite etc. or any course that is typically taken in the first 2 years (courses numbered 0-99) don't count. Luckily for me all the lower-division pre-requisites for upper division courses in both minors will be fullfilled due to other requirements anyways.
