Should of came out by now
They had us fill out an application maybe like a week ago
Should of looked something like this
I thought we don’t have a football team anymore 😭
Eyyy lets goo W 🙏
Too popular of a major 🙈
I didnt get one, did y commit/pay ur fee yet?
I was ED1 but I assume you prob have to commit and pay the enrollment fee
does anyone know if there is a BU discord/gc that isn't on FB?
Anyone know how soon I have to figure out housing for BU?
Need help settling a debate
Did I “get into” BU if I got a guaranteed transfer for 2024?
I’d say yeah
Does anyone know how transfers at BU get treated?
Does anyone know if the "BU Grade Deflation" is a thing across the whole uni ?
or just certain colleges/schools
Across
Whole uni
And it’s bad
Idk about that but it’s that the professors barely give u an A unless your work is like Nobel peace price level or some shit
wtf
no but gl with the grade deflation
that’s what I’m scared of for committing
I’ve heard it’s horrible
Like can I get an A
@smoky tiger I have a friend who’s a first year who had a professor tell them he hasn’t given a student an A in years
The benefit is though that if you got any scholarships the minimum grade you need in order to keep them is pretty low so you’d be fine lasting through
well for med school they want a 3.7 GPA minimum and I wanna be able to get that soooo
The issue is i rlly wanna go to BU
But I also know it’s gonna be hell for pre med everyone says it
opinions on BU for econ
does anyone know if BostonU sends out an admitted students package or something like that?
Nah
I asked a while back
L
i saw a bu hoodie on amazon for about half the price
perhaps thatll be the better way to go
do they not give us one for free 😔😔😔
Has anyone gotten their bu email yet?
Nah, you got any idea of an ETA for that?
Should come out around april for everyone
Make sure to look at the next steps and go to the todo-list most likely have the dates for everything
Nah
i think it's just the facebook group
^
i heard from my admitted friend that there was a discord
same question
sad
seems like im gonna commit to bu unless i get off the waitlist for babson(entrepreneurship major) or umich
BU’s rlly good why u sad?
I think they're sad about the acceptance packages, not the admission
Oh sorry I didn’t read abive much
Anyone here from BU wanna speak on the fun u can have in Boston? I’m looking forward to it but also scared of if I’ll have time lol
Any thoughts on the College of general studies
I'm a boston native who plans to commit to BU, theres a lot to do and explore in boston 😭
around bu itself theres a lot of places and the green line can connect u to anywhere and take you downtown etc
To Boston?
Ya
Nice, congrats!
Hopefully but I’ve read it’s impossible
yea i get wym im scared about grades too as a stem major even though i wont be doing pre med or anything like that
i like boston
BU ain’t no ivy bruh they not doing that
nah sadly no
Then that would make northeastern Harvard 3.0
It is pretty crazy
Their acceptance rate was like 5% this year
Any current BU students or alums here that can say anything ab how the dorms are?
^ i am also pondering this inquiry
i’m thinking about just staying in warren since it’s closest to the college of engineering but i’d prefer quality when it comes to dorms
i wouldn’t mind a little distance
Idk might want to reach out on insta to current students or ask the reddit
Ayo we majoring the same thing at the same uni
Yoooo awesome 🙂
This made me laugh
same as a CAS student i dont know enough about the dorms but i have a roomie
ironically when i visited both campuses i think it was very obvious bu had a better vibe to it🤷🏼♀️
The vibe is better but the campus is aids
Best of both worlds I guess
personally i dont understand the campus hate, i actually like it, ig depends what youre looking for
10-15 minute walk to get to nearby stores you want, takes like 20 minutes to walk to the stadium or to any classes and 20+ minutes to walk to any of the frats. Only benefit are the busses which sometimes stop at places and sometimes are super late
For the summer and spring it’s a really nice vibe
And it’s fun to walk or to run around
But in the cold times it’s actually painful to do
Especially when you live in the whitestones
I think warren towers wasn’t that bad but those are another level
Brownstones are the top
meh its not too bad from my perspective and i cant care less about frats 💀
i love the cold too
Welcome to BU
💀 im a boston native so that changes my perspective compared to others
Oh okay BU is basically home for you
Where’d you go to high school?
I know a lot of Boston latin kids
That are commuting
To BY
BU
I go to O'bryant
👌
im staying on campus 😭
Aren’t you close to home tho you could just save money
And unless you get whitestones as a freshman Warren towers is not fun
i have a full ride through the bps community service scholarship
i dont have enough knowledge about dorms tho
BU for free
Hell yeah
That’s great dude
Don’t worry about it then
But try to avoid warren towers
why so?
yea!! im scared if im making the wrong or right choice by choosing bu over neu 😭 it was so hard
Honestly each one has their own ups and downs but in the end they are both top 50 schools, so you will get out knowing you got a good education either way. In the end it’s just about how you enjoy the experience
So don’t worry and stay strong
Thanks for the reassurance 🥲 honestly what's also scaring me is grade deflation
same here! grad school is something i’ve planned on doing so i don’t want to have a low GPA 😭
unless they factor in grade deflation during the admissions process or idk
They are extremely cramped and overall really must and bad, apparently they also started having leaky ceilings
^
You’ll come across a few professors who say stuff like “i haven’t given an A in years” but I’m pretty sure everyone is so well aware of the grade deflation that you should be fine, Also scholarship minimum GPA requirements are well below what you should perform if you actually do your work, I know people who are on and off hard workers who are going with Bs and B+
yea hopefully i can stay within b range atleast🥲 thankfully my scholarship is 2.00 min💀
Fr
If im not in the B range ima just 💀
go on RateMyDorms for BU helps a ton
Anyone got their BU email yet for RD? I sent my enrollment deposit in over a week ago and still haven't gotten anything. Not sure if it's supposed to take that long
same
Supposed to come out this month, if you don’t get an email about it I would prob ask undergrad
does anyone know where to upload the LOCI for BU
is there a bu 27 discord?
found a bu'27 discord, dm for link
@stoic rampart
Hru today
@stoic rampart
😭
How are you guys sending the enrollment deposit?
There are no instructions or anything anywhere
when in doubt, send an email to admissions
Nevermind it was a dude
it was a knife i heard
to anyone who lived in The Towers-- is it a decent dorm for freshman year? im debating whether or not i should choose this or warren as my number 1 preference since i am in the college of engineering, and proximity is quite important to me. thanks!
Did they take from the waitlist yet
