I got a seperate miniwave right after the second wave. everyone instate who got ce instead of their first choice cs got that decision at the same time through email and got invited to a special seminar basically telling us we can't switch into cs

so that was not part of a big wave

UMD has more historical name recognition but more $$ and resources are being pumped into umass cs in recent years because it is very close to becoming another top school for cs. Price and actually getting into the program would be a factor in my decision because both programs are great

if price is a factor and umass is cheaper go to umass, the program is solid and improving
while umd is an amazing school I got into, paying more money will hurt
