#Yale! REA (2022-2023)

ehh debatable. if your goal is to get into a t20, your best bet is EDing somewhere. Most people REAing genuinely love the college they're applying to, or are athletes/legacy/etc.
I wouldn't say its a bad idea (i did it so i am kind of biased) but the benefit isn't incredible
definitely, yale does accept deferrals, and the continually reducing rate of deferrals suggests that you have a higher chance than normal
tbf, i don't think i've met the kid of a professor whose kid wasn't actually somewhat smart
intelligence is highly hereditary, and i imagine they would raise their child in a fairly academically intense environment
Besties why is this an RD thread too
They're a little confused, but they got the spirit
RD because they all got deferred 😬
Yeah im fine if the small ones combine but I think it’s kinda nice if we separate the large ones so we can reuse next year
I agree
Bc part of what I wanna do is at the end of the season lock off the channel, write the final message count of each post, and then pin it for the next year to try to beat
Oooh, that's a good idea
I like it
uChicago is gonna have the highest final count 🦾🦾
Actually, I guess it's hard to say with how RD will go
@final stag which school do you think will have the most active RD thread?
Uhh not sure tbh
If you had to guess?
Yale! REA
mbbb i didn't know we weren't supposed to create a combined one, i just renamed this one to REA so anyone can create the RD one now!
no worries thanks!

Dude chill out I was just asking lol 💀
honestly yes it can help
I know you count out the 5 degrees of separation but my friend’s mom’s sister’s friend’s husband is a Dean at a college and I got a personal tour there
you aren't going to get points or anything but if your cousin can talk to AOs and just ask them to give your application a second look, it really could push you over the edge
at schools like yale, harvard, princeton, everyone is extremely qualified and you just need a little boost to get you in -- having a cousin be a professor is definitely one of those
In the upper echelon of people that apply there’s probably the smallest determining factor between an accept and a reject

I hope my AO was in a really good mood
everyone has a 4.0 and 1550 or something it's just a ticket into a lottery
Having good ECs, good essays, good LORs is just like buying more lottery tickets
that's why essays are so important, it's the only real way you can stand out at these schools
Do you get in? Maybe not. Is it a better chance? Yes
Dude I’m rlly happy for you
Can I ask u a few questions in DMs about your process some time so we don’t flood a Yale chat with Princeton stuff
cause Princeton is currently my #1
yeah totally!
broo
tyyy
I was wrong, yes you should
what % of applicants did yale defer
21%
ty good sir
