I was filled with excitement to hear that I was accepted to Northeastern University BU Campus for Computer Science. I had worked so hard throughout high school, studying for tests and pushing myself to excel in my classes. I had been dreaming of this moment for years and was finally getting the chance to make it happen. But, despite all my hard work, I am rejected. I am so devastated and feel like a huge failure. I have let my family down, especially my parents. They have always been so supportive, believing in my abilities and encouraging me to pursue my dreams. Yet despite that, I have failed them. I feel like I have let them down, letting them think I am capable of doing something that I am not. I am filled with sadness and regret, knowing that I have let them down and am now unable to give them the dream that I had once promised.

Past that they care more about work experience and projects. Basically itll work itself out. it certainly doesn't feel like it rn but trust me I was in your shoes when I was put NUin instead of main campus but it turned out to be one of the greatest experiences ive ever had. Youll have your own equivalent at another school!

At least for NEU London (formerly New College of the Humanities), you'll get a degree from NEU London that resembles what you'd get studying at a British university. In addition, you'll receive a more US 4-year Bachelor's degree from NEU Boston.

Since NEU Oakland is a US campus, I'm not 100% sure if you'll get two degrees from both institutions (but it should be pretty clear based on your acceptance letter).

I agree that it was a bit messy unexpected (like they did disclose that they're starting full 4-year programs but not nearly enough). A good reason this is done though is to (1) fuck with about admit rates, as Northeastern does, and (2) work to alleviate capacity issues at Boston. It's the first year this was done so it's far from well executed but who knows what Northeastern can do with thot down the road. My one real complaint is that the four year London and Oakland is a bit dumb alongside NUin and global scholars.

1. how easy is it to have stable friendships with people on campus given that most ppl are doing co-ops outside of boston?
2. Is the culture there really focused on getting jobs/co-ops or do people really go deep into learning cs and do research with professors?

1. i dont really have experience with this as everyone ik has co oped in boston bc ive only been here 1 semester so the ppl that ive met on co op were on co op here
2. both!! so im in cs research as a first year and ik other first years doing research as well, but theres also plenty of ppl focused on jobs/co-ops
