IMO think of it this way: you got excellent grades by studying a ton and working hard. you put yourself out there and impacted your community, bettered yourself and others, and so so much more. whether your top schools will care i obviously can't tell you, but you are more than a yes/no to an institution and your application reflects that! you will do amazing things because you've already done amazing things; you know how to apply yourself :) don't stress too much (easier said than done i know)

I think what’s so hard for a lot of burnout smart kids (like all of us) to understand is that everyone has such amazing stats. Getting rejected doesn’t mean you aren’t good enough, it just means the school knows you’ll excel somewhere else. I think that if someone is rejected/deferred it happened for a reason so that they can excel in another educational environment. Personality plays such a huge role in college admissions and that isn’t highlighted enough.
