#UPenn ED CAS vs Cornell ED CAS

You can start by googling their school websites, go onto their subreddits, and watch their YouTube videos
There are a lot of resources on the web
Both of these are great schools so you can't go wrong. I think that both of these schools have amazing academics, so your preference will likely come from the location you prefer, the vibes of the campus you prefer, and other factors.
My first recommendation though is to check out the course catalog for each. Even for the same majors, most schools have different specific classes, and this may help you make or break it if either Cornell or Penn offers specific CS classes that interest you.
In terms of the location, UPenn is pretty urban while Cornell is really rural, so if this is a dealbreaker, that could really help in your decision.
One nice thing about Penn too is that you may be able to take classes at Swarthmore, Haverford, or Bryn Mawr if that interests you.
@maiden patrol thank you! I really don’t know which type of location I prefer. Hoping to visit Penn soon. Ig I will take a look at the catalogs. I am pretty interested in ML and Data Science applied in medicine or healthcare.
I hope you have a great time visiting!
Visiting is definitely a good idea.
It can tell you a lot about the school.
Do you mind if I give you advice about visiting a school if you don't mind me asking?
My recommendation is to trust your gut!
If you visit it and something feels off, it's okay to trust it even if you haven't seen most of the school.
I made a huge mistake of not trusting my gut, and I live with a lot of regret now.
Which school did u have to choose between?
So I just wanted you to know it's not okay if a school doesn't fit, and you don't need to feel guilty for not giving it more of a chance and all.
Columbia and Northwestern
Which one did u choose that seems like a very difficult decision
I chose Northwestern, but I really regret doing that.
I also was a transfer student and ended up leaving a school I really enjoyed, and I have doubts about that too.
So I definitely recommend trusting your gut when visiting schools.
That's great to hear!
I really enjoyed Ithaca too, it's a very beautiful place.
I was mainly skeptical about how Winter would be like tho
I mean not the cold since I’m from NH
But like what there would there be to do besides skiing
I can’t go on trails, no farmer markets, or other attractions
I guess I will see how I like UPenn
I hope you enjoy it there!
I've never visited Philadelphia or Penn, but one of my closest friends attends a school in Philly, and he loves the city a lot.
So I hope you have a great time visiting.
I visited Columbia but wasn’t that stoked about the campus. It was pretty small and seemed like there wasn’t much to do on campus and the life was in the city. Hoping to get a mix of city and a campus like Cornell with so much to do on campus.
I guess I will see when I visit
I can totally understand that, sorry it wasn't for you.
Personally, I really loved the campus because I just thought it was beautiful, and I loved the architecture style.
But I'm not the biggest NYC fan personally, I just really liked visiting Columbia.
And loved the school a lot.
