I'd look into DC Metro universities (AU, Georgetown, UMD, etc) as you'll have remarkably good opportunities in poli-sci there!

As someone from Virginia, I highly recommend checking out George Mason University.
They regularly have opportunities in connection with DC and the area GMU is in is really nice!
William and Mary and UVA also have amazing political science, although it is worth noting that W&M is unfortunately not the best with giving financial aid to out-of-state students.
But UVA's financial aid is great, so I recommend applying there if you like the school!
