Location/Region: I live in NJ, and want to go away preferably. I dont want to be in a place like Cornell.

Major: CS / AI / minor in Economics if possible

GPA/Test Scores (optional): 3.66UW, 3.87W, SAT: 1450(660, 790) (Weighted GPA would be a 4.12 if I removed freshman year.) UC GPA: 4.12
I would be around top 20% in my class. There is an Upward trend since I had a bad start freshman year.

AP: 5 on AP CSA/CSP, AP Micro/Macro Econ, AP Stats (4)

ECs: I have a good CS ECs and good ECs in economics.

Curriculum: Anything is fine, Something like brown open curriculum is preferred. I don't want really small classes tho. (> 5 people) I want to take most classes that are based on my major.

Size: Medium to Large is fine. Not like CalTech, please.

Costs: Need aid, Budget is around $40k/year max.

Schools you're currently looking at (if any): What other schools are you thinking of applying to?
Rutgers (instate, safety)
NJIT (instate, safety)
Penn State / Virginia Tech
Stevens/ U Maryland
UIUC (CS + Economics) / UT Austin
UV / GT
Berkley / UCLA
UCSD / UC Irvine
CMU / Brown
MIT / Princeton
Harvard / UPenn
Dartmouth / Northwestern
UChicago

Additional: I want a big social scene/party life and I need there to be a big sports culture (football) and other sports too.
I also don't want to get in and then have to apply again to be a CS major, like the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Some of these on my list are on there b/c of parental pressure, forget that and just suggest to me some targets/safeties/reaches, please.

I would add UMich to your school list too, they have an amazing CS program and a big sports scene (esp football) + party life!

I would imagine they're semi comparable to other state schools' aid OOS

I’d throw in ASU. Can’t have a bad social life with an 100,000 person student body in Tempe.

Yea I have these on my list to apply to. I want some more colleges like Penn State, U Mich etc...

#

I also just added The Ohio State University

Yea, some of them like MIT has no football but that cuz my parents are forcing me to apply. For now do you have any other colleges that are good based on my requirments ?

If you're looking for the parties and sports, you wont find them at UCSD or UCI... Maybe UCSB and UCLA

#

CS for the UC's gonna be very tough for out of state

and also the nature of its surroundings

#

UCI has frat parties, UCLA has a decent amount as well, but nothing can compare to USC or UCSB from what I'm told
