The Baron of Blackthorn manor has recently passed, you have been summoned as the medical professionals present suspect potential foul-play. The rest of the family would prefer not to have the local authorities involved. Investigate the clues and suspects and find incriminating evidence to properly arrest the culprit!
CHAPTER 1
You arrive at the manor in the morning and are greeted by the butler who leads you directly to the Late baron's office. There you are greeted by the Baroness dressed in mourning attire. She nods at you and utters mildly "lets keep this matter between the three of us SHALL WE?" and simply leaves the room walking past you with a huff.
The office appears pristine, like it was recently cleaned out and untouched. There was a faint sweet smell lingering in the room. His study desk was littered with scribbles and notes however, on the desk also lay a vase of beautiful white flowers, cleanly cut and placed like a table weight next to the stationary. Beside the vase was a teacup where the sweet smell seemed to linger from.
As you investigate you find no traces of blood on the carpet or desk, there was no signs of a struggle due to how orderly the room is in, as well as no damages to indicate any signs of a forced entry. It was even raining the day it happened and yet there wasn't any wet boot prints on the carpet as well.
On his desk, under the vase, is a singular cryptic scribble that says the words
"where knowledge rests"
hmm.. where would that be in the manor?

CHAPTER 2
You now head to the library, its a grand old study filled with shelves upon shelves of various books neatly in a row , the library contains many artifacts as well including a stuffed collection of various taxidermized animals.
You meet the butler again who shows you a tablet.
"The Baron was an avid fan of mystery and horror, favoriting a new riddle or puzzle to wrap his brains weekly was among one of the many things he liked to spice up his lifestyle. He was also a collector of many things from Antarctica as well, as you can well observe there is animals such as penguins, seals and the mighty polar bear. However recently he took something different from the library, A book about flowers, but the tablet appears to have been tampered with and we can only make out a series of scrambled letters"
As you look through the scrambled letters you see numbers appointed on each and another message by the late baron
“Knowledge rests where it is placed, not where it belongs.”

CHAPTER 3
When you arrive at the garden you meet the gardener hands deep in the soil at work, he looks up at you and with a smile asks if you've come to admire the estate
You question the gardener on what flowers he grows in the estate, and happily he tells you about all the various types in the gardens. You notice from his descriptions that he did not list any specific colored flowers specifically nor any from the list you mentioned from he book..
when you question him about the white bouquet in the barons study
he frowns and insists that he would know if there was a bouquet taken from his gardens and insists that they must have been delivered. but, that he did notice there was weird shoe prints around the back garden, but its as if someone kept pacing around. Your not gonna find much there after the rain though"
He hands you a order sheet with a codified language on the sheet addressed to the manor.
"Don't mind it too much, the baron just loves his funny little riddles. its an annoyance really, i just look at what im holding"

CHAPTER 4
The kitchen is a mess of yelling and fire as the head chef prepares the dinner menu for the day, you approach him calmly and ask to see the orders he received
Weirdly frightened, he points to a open crate and note attached to it. On The note lies a shipment of orders for various herbs, Parsley, Thyme and various other but one of the items has been crossed out heavily. You question the Chef and he insists that someone else opened the box before him and he has no idea what was the item in the box. He says the butler may have the original order form and it would be best to check with him as the chef runs away. seemingly called to his duties, you leave him be and head for the butlers office.
You arrive at the butlers office, but upon knocking the door you notice that the door wasn't locked, you decide to sneak in to the empty office to find the document yourself. But all you discover is a single laptop that is password locked.
On the screen is a hint for the password itself.
The Password hint is: Blemish turning part of white rose yellow (7)

CHAPTER 4
(continued)
You unlock the laptop and search through the files for the last ordered items
and you notice that the butler has kept a journal in his files. Inside you find notes he has written about members of the Blackthorn Manor. About the Baroness, The Baron, The Doctor and the Daughter
"Ive been hearing the Baroness and Chef frequenting the library searching for something, they tear the place up about something safe? maybe they are the ones who tampered with the tablet...not like anyone doesn't know of their illicit behaviours"
"The Baron truly has an annoying taste for mystery and the things Antarctica, various stuffed penguins , seals and albatross and a giant polar bear...thought im certain one of them isn't made like the rest...."
"The baron's daughter asked of me to deliver her father a bouquet of white flowers to ease his mind, how sweet of her!, however who she did she ask to bring it to the manor? the flowers were already grown and sent to the front door before i could even ask the gardener to grow some himself..."
"The Barons Private doctor should be returning from his mini sabbatical soon. how unfortunate timing that he left just days before the barons unfortunate demise. to return the day after the barons passing too.... but speaking of the doctor he recently seems tobe getting more medical tools and supplies? he even asked it to be kept hush, hah! after accidently sending the supplies to be delivered to the kitchen instead! i wouldn't trust him to be my doctor...."
hmm, why does the notes appear strange?

CHAPTER 5
You Investigate the library once again paying close attention to the exhibit of the animals
As you touch the polar bear you realize it is not made from taxidermy! and is in fact hollow sounding,
you notice a spot to click and move it open revealing a hidden safe inside the body of the bear. a small note tucked within the head reveals another hint:
The Safe Hint is : Married life turns cold after we first kiss (7)

CHAPTER 5
(Continued)
As you enter the letters into the safe it swings open and you find a sealed envelope inside, as you tear it open, it is revealed to be the last will of the baron. written just days before his passing
"I the landowner of Blackthorn manor hereby decree, that all my possessions in its entirety shall go to my dear daughter and none for her lover. The Baroness as well is to receive none for i am uncertain at this point if she has been unfaithful to me with that chef, and i cannot with a guilty heart give her my wealth if i cant clear her of this vile accusation of mine before my time. i must consult my doctor of my health as well....if he proves loyal however, i may reconsider."
With this its time to visit the Doctors Office...as soon as you reach the doctors lab, a final thorough investigation is made as the smell of antiseptic and something sweet faintly lingers in the air. As you investigate you notice his lab set is not so clean, the shoes stained with slight red mud and the lab coat unhanged. Upon Searching the lab you notice a lock with a three digit dials going down and in his drawer a notepad with a haiku possibly the answer...
The Haiku is:
I wear velvet robes,
Bitter juice flows in my veins,
One kiss ends it all.

The pot smelling stronger of that sweetness in the lab. Drawings of a flower labeled toxic, with small white flowers surrounding it resembling closely to baby breaths. encircle the pot. Under the pot you find a crumpled letter from the daughter addressing the doctor:
"My Dearest lover, recently i had the chance to have tea with my father and i found out his love of white flowers, but my mother absolutely despise of the sight of them. Could you perhaps find a way to get a bouquet for me to surprise my father with? i know he has not approved of the two of us but i believe together we can change his mind! and he will come to love you!! Pleassseeeee? he seemed so unwell recently..."
XOXO - Your lady
.....
and with that its time to decide with what you have gathered from the notes...
