#building system

restricting what? What are you talking about?
he means the building system
its true the game need to have more flexible building system
but flexible is kinda the opposite of restricting. so i still don't get it. restrict what?
no more building outside boundary marker?
I gather “too” was intended rather than “to”. “The building system is too restrictive” probably, because it is a bit nuts. No idea which aspect is at issue or if it’s the whole thing. It does need fine tuning at least with some options for server owners perhaps.
This is broken look at the stone mills thats the closest they can be put together
Having foundations be able to go up or down on a slope and be on the same grid would be nice, right now you have to have your home be on a 100% flat spot, if not good luck making a flat floor without pillars
check conan exile building system u will know
yeah Conan's build system is nice. I do prefer the look of MOE though. It would be nice if MOE also had more architecture sets to work with (Besides the new culture ones coming out). I think they would do well to create more cosmetic architecture sets that they could sell
its not abt architecture or more building pieces its abt flexibility to place foundation and stairs very import part of base building
ability to rotate, snap, increase height like this
also foundation should be able to snap to ceiling
agreed. I was merely complementing the look of MOE; as well as Conan's build system and that they have several architecture sets which they sold that helped keep them afloat without having to resort to cheese P2W model (as far as i know)
imo MOE will never gain popularity unless they abandon the cheese P2W model
That last bit without question. Sell culture packs as dlc, I'm fine with that. Playing roulette and ending up with 20 things I have no interest in is beyond offputting, it discourages me from ever trying again. If I wanted to gamble I'd go to a casino. Maybe it's a good model in Asia but I think I understand enough about the western mindset to know the majority of people who would happily throw money at a game are inclined to do it when they know exactly what they're getting.
as someone with a decent enough amount of disposable income, i actually stopped buying the boxes, too. it just gets frustrating at given point when you have 7x doubles and don't get the missing building piece for example. or the jade boxes where you buy 100 boxes and dont get a single skin.
i wouldn't mind spending money on stuff, but i'm not a friend of just mindlessly throwing it away without getting anything in return and selling all the doubles a week later for 7 cents is not even worth grabbing my phone to confirm the listings with steam guard.
now when i want something i just get it off steam marketplace if it's reasonably priced but overall stopped spending money on the game directly🤷♂️
we need the ability to clip building pieces into the ground like walls the maps are super hilly any game with a good building system in it like ark conan ect allows you do to this even if its a unofficial setting only moe needs to have it to i mean moe is using stolen ark code wish they would have taken the building system from ark and applied it to there game to
I agree, a bit clipping should be allowed, as of now, if there is even a slight blockage, then a structure cannot be put down.
Like if I want to use 2x2 foundation to build a bridge and the ground is uneven, then a portion of the foundation clipped through the uneven terrain, it will be red and I cant put it down.
You should copy paste this post into your main post so ppl will understand and upvote, but leave the stolen thingy out of it 😆
These suggests already exist in large numbers, with quite a few thumbs up.
you're best bet on that is a free placement foundation, and level it with the ceiling tile.
P2W is never wrong
just a reminder dev also have family to feed
also u either spend time in game or irl working and use here
I don’t think p2w will work in the US market. We’re fine with pay to play and if they clear up the issues people have on official servers and add some benefits they could probably make more money selling subscriptions.
I dont know what mindset this is to think that P2W is never wrong. There are plenty of other ways to fund the game (and "feed family"). Most successful survival pvp games don't rely on cash shop P2W models. If a game is enjoyable with a focus on longevity and not short term buck then then game can potentially rake in funds and continue development for years to come. Most PVPers dont like P2W because its simply not fair to the bulk of players, and there is usually always someone willing to spend more to win. Only successful P2W games will be in web3 where grinders also benefit from selling looted items to P2W players.
plus there is a strong PVE fanbase to this game. If they focused on some of the building complaints and introduce more architecture sets, there is a strong demand for that. MOE has great concept , depth, art and unique aesthetics and environment . I very much enjoy PVP but wont waste my time PVPing here in MOE when not competing on a level playing field; so Ill just enjoy the PVE side of MOE
Also, part of what makes game fun can actually be the grind and working your way to the top when everyone is on the same level, but players lose touch with that with P2W. There is no benefit to grinding when you pretty much need to pay to keep up.
I hope the devs take notice of this because, to my embarrassment I have 11,000 hours of playtime in my top two games on Steam, both MMOs. I've played with a lot of people, generally westerners and also I'm what's known as a whale (I will throw money at anything that I enjoy playing) and I think I have an understanding of people who are like me.
If a game puts out content I will easily spend over $500 per year on it buying for myself, friends and family. This roulette system for player, weapon and building skins won't get more than $60. When the Roman stuff comes out for this game I'll buy everything from the Steam Market, if they sold it directly I'd pay $100 for a complete pack without blinking an eye. Clearly that would be overpriced but I think the point is made.
I challenge the devs to test pilot a subscription based non-P2W pvp server and market it to new players; so they can "easily" find/hear about it. Watch how many new players gravitate to that over the other (P2W) servers
I don't want pay to win but I don't want a subscription I don't like the game that much
it would have to be completely polished with 0 bugs and a way to prevent all rmt and hacks
im just trying to show that a subscription would be better than P2W. There are multiple other ways to fund the game. A subscription is probably the least favorable; but its still better than P2W, as P2W destroys it (the pvp portion).
There are plenty of gamers like me, who enjoy building; especially with MOE's theme and on UE. They could be selling architecture/cosmetic sets to fund. PVE could support the PVP side; as it is with Conan
I think it's reasonable to consider that there are different cultural preferences, apparently the current model does well for the bulk of the current market but to make serious inroads here something more acceptable to gamers in the western world will be needed. I want to spend money but I don't like flinging it out the window.
u grind in game while others grind irl that the only difference between you and them
yeah I'm in the same boat as you with one of your other topics of I'm happy to pay for a game I like but I'm not going to play roulette for it
I'd buy a skin pack but not going to roll for it
only in web3 will this work , because then grinders also benefit via the virtual economy; making it also a RL economy game. In that version P2W players help fund the game and keep the cycle going. Player grinders who sell their looted stuff can then put those proceeds back into the game to progress their character , which further funds the game and also keep the cycle going. It then becomes balanced between P2W players and grinder players.
I dont personally play a pvp game (in web 2) to compete against other players who use the legal cheat button to dominate. Besides, how is that even fun? its like using God mode in single players. It compromises the entire player progression part of the game, forcing a huge gap between those who pay their way to the top and those who grind their way to it. If everyone were on the same level starting out then people wouldnt mind so much the grinding part
Plus there are already zergs, bugs, game in-balances and exploiters to compete with (generally speaking). Combine that with P2W, PVP becomes pointless.
said another way; I am suppose to have fun in a pvp game building a base, just so that others can pay (the game company) to wreck my base? How is that fun?
dnt change the topic make a separate thread
So you make this outlandish comment; I then respond; then we converse; and now you say that Im the one who changed the topic lol.
Its all related. The build system should be fixed and expanded on. The game would do well in so many ways
@tardy lily please update description and explain what exactly the issue is because that is little to no details. Not even sure what we supposed vote for at this point. Please update and provide as much details as possible
@austere sleet play the game
