#Glider flying? seriously? No Glider please

I guess these are glyders to fly downwards, not upwards. So you can run on a hill and wly down - hope so
There are ideas tho that gliders were used in the medieval China as a torture device and scouting device
This shouldn't be in a historical game. People will build big towers just so they can glide to bases. It was the same in Atlas. Great PVP now becomes scifi/fantasy horror
Glider flying? seriously? No Glider please
PvP in this game was never really 'good'. The mega alliances ruined the game too easily
But now imagine that 50 people jump behind the gate on gliders and the rest climb over it.
At least now you can do the same thing to the mega alliances instead of being swarmed while you siege
I see more advantages than disadvantages to adding the gilders
So I see only negatives for PVP
Just cuz you only see disadvantages doesn't mean there's only those 🤣
Bro glider is so nice idk what you guys crying about it adds new ways of raiding or stealing
or just fighting
In short, it doesn't fit the game and I can imagine how it will be abused. Chinese clans will literally rain down from the sky and build towers around your bases to jump from. The load on the server will be huge, so it will be unplayable anyway.
the only negative lies with the chinese mega alliances, thats it, and those need to be banned from cross raiding
Gliders in a game where you can build Fortnite tower in seconds is realy very bad idea.
so as not to offend the developers, perhaps the glider option is somehow conditional, for example only on private servers or special game mods
The game isn't realistic in any sense but gliders would be pretty lame in pvp
dont shut down the idea see how it is ingame atl east guys
I have feeling that those gliders will be very weak against arrow towers.
Hopefully arrow towers are not hitscan anymore. Would be balanced if they properly nerf horses and the like
I hate flying in pvp survival games. it ruins the point of walls and pushes for giant boxes as bases. 100% agree with this suggestion! No flying please!!!
once its implemented, its too big of a system for the devs to ever remove.
That's exactly what I was thinking. There's no way you're gonna be dropping Into an Enemy base with towers you're just get shot. I'm pretty sure they're not gonna be hard to take out. Because it's very easy for a tower to kill a player.
Well, now they've announced hot air balloons. To which a ballista can be attached. So everyone will fly up to a height where practically no one can get on them, not even the tower, and they will destroy defenses from a distance/altitude. The big clans can probably handle it, but the small ones don't stand a chance against it.
100% this
i mean hopefully the hot air balloons will have to come down frequently for refuel. would be hilarious and fun to chase down a balloon on cav
the fuel is a fed fox or rabbit... should be able to handle carrying enough food for them to last a long while.
still we have no idea if they will have stamina and will have to recharge on the ground etc. we dont have very many details about it. guess we just need to wait a month and see for ourselves
I have not tested recently, but in the past towers could reach any siege equipment that can reach the tower (except counter-weight trebuchet, which cannot be moved). I don't see how ballista could reach a tower that cannot reach the ballista or the balloon.
Yes the defensive turrets are firing at the same maybe greater distance. There is a small detail. If the siege gun is in a higher position, it will fire further. It's true that the more it exceeds the range, then the less damage the weapon gives. That's why most attackers build platforms so that the siege weapon is higher than the entire base. I've seen this happen a few times when they built 5x10 pieces in height and rode up the staircase. The weapons did give 50% less damage, but the enemy made up for that with firepower. So that's exactly how it will be with balloons, they just won't have to build anything. Another thing is that I've seen rhinos float with a ram on their backs (the separate ram, not the one built into the saddle). It's quite possible that they'll load something similar onto the Balloon.
I mean in general I’ve always disliked rhino and elephant siege gameplay. Feel like removing it wouldn’t be a bad idea
I almost never see anybody use rhinos or elephants anymore.
Back when I played the damage reduction when out of range was closer to 99% than 50%. I remember shooting a heavy ballista that was high on a cliff and dealing ~4000 dmg to a wall, then shooting a wall bit farther and dealing less than 100 dmg. I was part of many large sieges, everyone always build walls in front of trebuchets/ballista to tank the arrows while shooting down the towers. Unless they have changed the mechanics, being out of range is just waste of ammo.
The way it works now, from what I understand it, because I haven't done it since i've been back. Siege has to be in range of towers and the towers will prioritize whatever shooting at it. So shooting out of range is Pointsless.
But I hope they change The hitbox for ballista's making it so you can't place doors and walls so close to them.
Granted shooting ballista out of a window is historically correct. Hiding half way between a close door to avoid getting hit is not.
You will be able to move faster if the map is large.
I hate to be the one to say it like this, but its very clear this game is in the romantic timeline of the Three Kingdoms, given the factions and gear we are presented with.
While its hard to find concrete flying machines from the time or gliders, they did have things like kites and hot lanterns. The kongming lanterns for instance had various colours and were used for signaling. Would surprise me if this was made into a tall tail of a lantern raining death from above as it signaled archers.
Also kites were used in the same manner, for signaling and messaging during war by southern dynasties. Again like the lanterns could spin into the tail of a kite bringing the devastation of an army
but as long as bases have enough counterplay against things like gliders (ie arrow towers forcing them to fall hard) i don't see a problem with a new mobility too.
Honestly I mean just having a few soldiers inside your base doesn’t do much. They are just gonna die to towers, can’t really get reliable reinforcements and you can box em in
Especially with the auto turrents
I think it will be more used on the defensive side than offensive side. People will be able to flank and rebuild behind armies or launch like 10 people to kill enemy siege if they try to do the tower technique
I don't really like the changes, especially the air units. Let's be surprised, maybe it won't be as bad as it looks after all.
Ships are definitely great, the air units and more auto defenses for bases seems a bit in the negative category for me
one note about the new defenses i like is that they use animals to power instead of being manned by warriors, freeing up the units for elsewhere
and before someone pipes up on the current towers, those ones feel inconsistant from my experiance, and tend to stop shooting when unmanned
they probably need to test it for ark 2
I hope Angela games has full control of the game and that Snail Games doesn't interfere and really only cares about marketing for western countries.
Snail games doesn't have that much control. They just now have a piece of a pie.
How much of that pie? We're not entirely sure but from a lot of information that I have been able to dig up. It's very limited. They get paid royalties. And are also able to help influence certain parts of the game but they don't get final say.
