@lime shuttle second one is kinda my average solve, first one is worse, i think a huge problem is my fat pauses? so i end up tilting the cube around like a helicopter joystick and not doing anything, also obviously lack of fingertricks which i probably should force myself to implement, last time you said this angle was fine so i didn't change it, hope its okay

busy rn
got 2 more of spoops solves to recon
yeah no worries i can see u doing spoops one
yeah, to start off with your fingertricks for Pi are shit
don't even need the recon for that one
you look, hesitant to turn faster?
this is the most rubiks brand looking turning style I've seen on a speedcube, respectfully
angle is perfect btw
😭 idk
i feel like
ill mess shit up if i go faster
nice
it looks more like a case of you not expecting the cube to turn that effortlessly whenever you turn it lol
deer-in-headlights type thing
maybe its a habit from the 4x4?
possibly
but i think i used to solve similarly back then too
it does look very "avoid breaking while turning" now that you say it
😭 but at least its somewhat accurate right?
unconfidently accurate, ye
do I need to clip this or can you figure out fingertricks on your own
ill find something
uh, just kinda mindlessly turn-spam the cube when not actively solving
jperm oll vid should be fine right
get used to just, not feeling like the cube is going to explode in a moments notice
im also kind of anxious because of the plastic core, ive seen so many people have their cores break that its a little stressful for me if I accidentally turn too early put too much force into it and something goes wrong
bit old but the alg hasn't changed
the cores breaking is almost always never a user error
i know what it doesnt require much force to turn the cube but i might end up overdoing it a little when trying to improve this
people at sub 10 and brand new have had cores break
ok ill try to think about it a little less
best way to gage your genuine force is to see how innacurate you can get
U2 single flick, miss the layer, barely get a U in, dial from there
also, ive found an rs3m v5 dual adjustment for 12 AUD including shipping do u think it might be solid to grab as a 2ndary?
possibly
genuine force?
I'll need to re-set-up mine before I sing its praises
you also have the DAS one?
you won't be able to be confident in your accuracy without being confident in how to be inaccurate
I got maxed
a little different then lol
ye
i see
ok ill keep this in mind
back to reconning
it's refreshing to see someone do the cross solution I also found
Aqari solve 1
R B2 R U2 R B2 R2 D2 F' L D' F' L U B R D' U' B'
x2 y' // inspection
D' R' F D F F // cross
(pointless regrip) [R U' R' U R' U' R U' (pointless regrip) R' U R] U' // 1st pair
(pause) (panic) (recog tilt) U' R U R' y R' U R // 2nd pair
(recog tilt) (pointless regrip) L U L' U' L U L' // 3rd pair
(pause) y' U (pointless regrip) R U R' U' R U R' // 4th pair
U' [f R U R' U' f'] (recog tilt) U' [R U2 R2 U' R2 U' R2 U2 R] // OLL (2-look)
(recog tilt) U U (recog tilt) U [F' U' F R2 u R' U R U' R u' (pointless regrip) R2] U // PLL
I could add a ton of pointless regrips to the OLL too but I already covered that ground
here's what these recons look like before I edit them btw
didnt even know cubedb had these features
or is it like
u add them
red means "invalid move"
if I type the actual words there'd be a lot more wide U moves
true
so I use symbols to mark habits and add the habits later
cool
first use of a panic symbol btw
ideally
I do like the 3ish second panic-pause before actually tilting the cube on 2nd pair btw
stunlocked
pauses are just lack of confidence btw
the pause is never the actual issue, it's just the thing that manifests from it
really?
i feel like when im pausing i just dont know where the pieces are at all lol
or im trying to realize what i have to do
proved the point further
but i genuinely dont know where the pieces are a lot of the time what
lack of confidence in where the pieces are
but then ill be confident that its in X position and ill end up LBLing 😭
I don't batch pausing and tilting together, btw
like for second pair, you paused, panicked because you paused, then tilted to gather information
4th pair was a pause because of lacked confidence in the case
keep in mind this is just how I personally see it
how can i work on this then? do i just do shit without hesitating as much or
I guess
it's mainly recog inconfidence rn, mostly
and while you can train recog, it still takes a while for stuff to set in
maybe ill have to too
nah, I just got heavily frustrated at stagnating at 33ish
so I avoided that frustration by not using a timer
fair
I noticed your left hand is very straight
yeah its a little (a lot) neglected by me, its one of the many things ive been putting off
it tends to look like this a lot
whether regripped or not, but a lot while regripping
i dont even notice that atp lol, its most likely because i barely do anything with my left when it comes to cubing
I can see that
even when in the perfect opportunity to flick a U move, you almost always push it with the other hand lmao
like, regrip and then neglect the point of the regrip type deal
that might be because i find push U moves very satisfying to do 😭
need to fix that too
Aqari solve 2
U' B2 L2 U2 B2 F2 R2 D L B D' L2 U L U' R2 B R U
z2 y // inspection
R D' R' D' x U R' U' x' D // cross
(recog tilt) U (pointless regrip) L UU L' (pointless regrip) L' U' L // 1st pair
(recog tilt) U' U (recog tilt) U L U' L' UU L U' L' // 2nd pair
U R' U' R U' y L' U L // 3rd pair
U'U' R U'U' R' U'U' R U' R' // 4th pair
[f R U R' U' f'] (recog tilt) [R U R' U R U' R' U R U'U' R'] // OLL
(recog tilt) U U [R U' R' U' R U R D R' U' R **D'** R' U'U' R'] U' // PLL
{bolded moves are fingertricked wrong}
(just push the D' with left ring)
I could police the way you fingertrick your Hook alg but it's 2-look
hook is the first oll?
fair u learned the different method lol
the faster method in a majority of contexts
is there a better algorithm for 2 adjacent eo?
id probably be able to do the F one regripless though
while for wide f its kinda weird
I'll just say to push the [f] while regripping down for sexy
for me
regrip+left index push and then after sexy pull it back probably?
or push back with the right?
regripless is kinda overworky
guess you could push>flick>flick>push tho
for regripless
figured as much then, thanks
I just found [F unsexy F'] to be easier to fingertrick optimally
fair
right thumb for both F moves, you could theoretically double flick the first 2 righty moves
ok so things to work on
- less regrips (especially pi oll lol)
- turning speed/confidence?
- recog confidence (tilting > drooling?)
- left hand less stiff
- fingertricks
anything im missing
Turnspeed confidence comes with better fingertricks generally
both hands a little less stiff, the left one is just more stiff
but you said i turn as if i were scared to break the cube so it seems like a general issue outside of just fingertricks i think
just kinda like, experiment with curling your fingers in idle a little more
dile?
oops
but yeah, you got the dot points on the head
@lime shuttle
i managed to apply 2 of the things
that we talked about
since the time you told me to do the drill with tps spamming i was constantly doing that, and ive also forced myself to just do the moves instead of drooling
