My speed isnt great but i blame the fact that the solve is done on a gan i carry 2 which is frosted and new so it slides out of my hands like its tryna escape (i main a gan 11m pro uv)

#

But also look ahead isnt great either

buoyant badge
#

@silver fulcrum You did a lot of filler moves, if I'm not mistaken it also happens during cross, which is really bad
Your move count on cross should be 8 moves or less

#

Also, I recommend actually trying to record the solves instead of using smart cubes, because they can't give the critics whether or not you regrip or rotate too much during a solve

#

Also, at this average you don't really need lookahead, just focus on improving your efficiency and recognition

silver fulcrum
#

I made 8 filler moves

#

And i blame the cube for those ngl, its not my main and i had a few moves overshoot or like mess up, so i had to readjust

buoyant badge
silver fulcrum
#

I dont rlly have a setup to record

buoyant badge
#

Tbh using smart cubes if they don't track ur rotations and regrips is just a waste of time lol, unless you're matching against others

#

Not to mention it's holding you back

silver fulcrum
#

Heres a solve i did, i dont have any details like the scramble etc, but u can see it all anyway

#

And another

uneven badge
#
  • rotationless cross on bottom ~ use misorientated cross to help (cross off by D, D2 D')
  • work on ur f2l solutions, keep it basic, no need for R B' R' B back insert etc.
  • rotate better by learning about EO
  • keep homegrip for most R moves and the r move for OLL
  • learn proper fingertricks for PLL, particularly the R2 you showed
silver fulcrum
# uneven badge - rotationless cross on bottom ~ use misorientated cross to help (cross off by D...

My back insert isnt slow though? All my f2l solutions are similiar pace, so i see no reason why not do them, id get it if they were slow or done poorly, but they seem fine, most of my cross solutions are rotationless, im pretty sure, i still need to work on it, cuz my cross solutions are slow, and ik all abt EO already, so id appreciate if u can expand on that, and my homegrip stuff is pretty poor, but i also never do an r move for OLL, I cant remember the exact alg I use, but it might look like an r move but it isnt, but i am looking to imrpove my OLL algs soon, because i only know like 3, and the algs are rlly outdated, but atm im working on full pll

uneven badge
#

for that back insert you can just do U' R' U R and end up at a better starting angle for ur next pair

#

on first vid

#

the 1st and 2nd vid are not rotationless crosses

silver fulcrum
#

So wdym

uneven badge
#

no you do R2 B' R B for 2nd pair

#

same idea for 3rd vid 3rd pair, you don't need to cancel into sledge just insert it normally with U R U' R'

#

simple solutions are better for lookahead in the future

silver fulcrum
#

The sledge was for lookahead

#

Thats why i looked at the white face

#

Thata just cuz i got poor lookahead

#

Otherwise i would do a normal insert

uneven badge
#

you never need to look at white face since its always at the bottom

silver fulcrum
silver fulcrum
#

Because i didnt see it on the top layer

#

Just poor lookahead

#

Plus i used it to rotate easier

uneven badge
#

when you do the 2 gen RU solution the left side never moves, so once you can do ur current pair without looking, you can always know whats on ur left and reduce potential pieces on top

silver fulcrum
#

Yeah i just dont think like that tbh

uneven badge
#

yeah you need to change ur thinking else it would be harder to get sub 20

silver fulcrum
#

So in short your saying work on lookahead and finger tricks

#

(Im already in the process of changing / learning more algs)

uneven badge
#

work on solutions and fingertricks

#

no point of lookahead if you don't have a good foundation

My goal is sub 20 gng, lets keep that in mind, i aint tryna go sub 10 here or nun crazy, a lot can be forgiven

buoyant badge
silver fulcrum
#

Idm if it takes 2 weeks or two years tbh

#

I cube to pass the time

buoyant badge
# silver fulcrum I cube to pass the time

Well, if you really wanna get to sub-20 then just try to learn better solutions for individual pairs
Try to develop your turning speed more, and learn more OLL for the last layer if you wanna optimize

#

Then ig it's spamming solves? Idk I think that's how I got to sub-20 then starting to fix my habits later on

#

(except full OLL tho, I think that's what pushed to get close to sub-15)

silver fulcrum
#

Ive learnt 16/21 pll algs

#

Once im done w that, im gonna move on to f2l cases i think

#

Optimising that

#

And then after that im finally gonna learn 2 look oll

buoyant badge
#

Learn them first then

silver fulcrum
#

I know like 3 oll algs

#

So if i get a case idk, i just change the case till i have one ik

buoyant badge
silver fulcrum
#

My OLL never contributes massively to my solve time tbh

#

Even when i have to cycle through oll's

#

My execution is pretty fast, its like 1 second of my solve

#

Im just gonna finish up w pll algs, and move onto f2l, as its a massive chunk of my solves

#

Usually around 12 - 15 seconds of my solve

#

I also need to work on cross cuz thats like 4 seconds, but i should get that to sub 2 rlly

buoyant badge
silver fulcrum
#

Ive already looked at around 50 oll solves of mine

#

They all fall around 1 - 2 seconds

#

My OLL usually gets 4+ TPS

buoyant badge
#

But eh, if you wanna do it ur way then do it ig, you already knew what to go for next anyway, so ig I don't even need to give you advice

#

You don't seem to actually asking for advice because you already knew what to do next ig

silver fulcrum
#

Tips are gd
