Let the series itself as a whole shine and not just put it all into one chapter
3&1/2-4 years between each chapter for each franchise would be cool, but yea.. these games are bigger than the typical games that release faster and it's also a smaller company. Larger companies may not result in the same quality either, tho it's not impossible to have both a large company and quality games, it really depends on how well the company is managed and the leadership, structure and resources too
It's also a matter of structure and process, something which can be... Rather haphazard in creative industries.
hi
Evening
@elderscrolls @bethesda @bethesdagamestudios please hire The wonderful Beautiful kind-talent voice actress @cattaber as female nord voice and follower for a female nord follower please taber is amazing actress please hire Her in elder scrolls Vi as female nord follower Companion She would make a great nord follower in six you would not regret it I bet is fun to work with It would be great have her voice a female nord follower companion to travel with In the Elder scrolls Vi world to bring good to the land #CatherinetaberforelderscrollsVi
Preferably I'd rather see ES6 before another Fall out but I might be biased.
I mean it’s already been confirmed that TES VI is coming right after Starfield
mm, TES VI will be next after Starfield
Seeing how big Starfield is makes me wonder if The Elder Scrolls VI will be the biggest open world game of all time.
Probably not. It would be very difficult to compete with No Man's Sky in that regard.
You never know but will see in the future
No Man's Sky contains approximately 15 quintillion planets each about 10,000 square km in size. That makes one planet almost the size of all of Tamriel at its smallest true-scale.
Interesting
Now, there's very little to DO on those planets, compared to your average Bethesda game, but for sheer size I don't think we'll be beating No Man's Sky anytime soon.
Sorry, did that math wrong... It's 28,000 square km, so more than twice the size of Tamriel per planet...
Yo can anyone help me with my CC for Skyrim on the Xbox one? I bought the upgrade for the special edition and it won't install all the cc stuff
Hey guys is morrowind worth playing
My answer is, "Yes!" Morrowind is tied with Skyrim as my favorite video game of all time. If you wish to discuss Morrwind further, feel free to post in our #morrowind-chat 🙂
Hey guys. Where is the best place to fast travel back to where you can sort out inventory, has a bank nearby and can deconstruct all my goodies
Whoa! Slow down, man! You’re making me dizzy!
Haha
I used to go to a city in summerset where everything was in one place but I’ve switched to Xbox and starting a fresh character
What game are you talking about? It sounds to me as though you are talking about Elder Scrols Online. If this is true, then you are in the wrong place. This is a Discord for the single-player Elder Scrolls games made by Bethesda Game Studios. Feel free to post Elder Scrolls Online questions on ZeniMax Online Studio's forums, which you can find here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en
Hahaha yup I’m definitely in the wrong place 😂
Really?
I’m currently playing papers please, then I’ll play morrowind
I heard it needs a lot of mods to be playable though
That is entirely a matter of opinion. As with all BGS games, one person's "unplayable without mods" is another person's "vanilla is perfectly playable." For me personally, Morrowind is the BGS game that is least in need of mods. I like its vanilla character-skill-based gameplay mechanics better than the more player-skill-based game mechanics in Oblivion or Skyrim. Having said this, when I play a mage I do use a mod that regenerates magicka. Aside from new hairstyles, I don't use graphics mods either.
But as I say, if we wish to discuss Morrowind we should move to #morrowind-chat
Okay see you there!
Are people able to ask Questions here about ESO or is there a dedicated server for that one?
We have traditionally allowed questions from people who do not already own the game and who want to know something about the game before they purchase it. But people who already own the game are usually asked to post on ZeniMax Online's forums. There is actually a ESO Discord (you can find it by clicking on #official-sites but it is mostly communication from ZeniMax Online, not a true fan-oriented site like we have here.
Ok, bummer; was hoping to get some info that would be quicker then in a normal forum setting
Is this the replacement for the old Bethesda Forums?
Yes, it is
Ah, I used to go on there a lot to browse the threads. I used to enjoy the threads where people discussed what they wanted to see in the future games, like ESVII, is there a forum section here for stuff like that or is it just all in one channel?
At the moment it's just one channel. We do have a few forum sections, but there's isn't as much demand for TES ones for now.
Ah, that's a shame. I'll maybe check in again when we get closer to launch for a fallout or ES game and see what's happening. Thanks for answering
Always in demand for TES 🤤
Is elder scroll v online a good game that I can play with my friend?
any news on the release time for console
I really enjoy it. It's my third-favorite Elder Scrolls game (after Morrowind and Skyrim). I occasionally play with a friend who lives in a different part of the United States and we enjoy that very much. But mostly I play ESO like I would one of the single-player games.
You can play ESO with a friend espically if you're starting new characters as after the tutorial you'll get given a choice of where to start off zone wise.
Bruh I can’t sell anything thanks to this games dumb system I accidentally shot someone and now I can’t get my bounty off me
do y’all think since they stated that ES6 would be after Starfield that they’ve had their B-team start production on ES6? or maybe their A-team switched over once Starfield was originally ‘ready to ship’
They'll be moving their resources over to TESVI once Starfield launches and go into full production.
I imagine they've already been slowly migrating people over
Judging by what Bethesda Game Studios has said in the past of how they do things.
But, that's speculation.
I imagine most game systems from Starfield will be reused in 6, so that really leaves a lot of the heavy lifting to character/map creation and whatnot, rather than purely mechanics.
Not necessarily. 🤔 Between games they like to improve their engine and introduce new features or mechanics. If you remember Todd's planning paper, they like to focus the game around a certain theme and then focus new gameplay around that theme.
But who knows. The mods don't want too much speculation here since this is an official discord and they don't want people going away thinking this is all confirmed or anything.
Like Todd's said in the past, they want every game to feel unique and different. And that extends to the gameplay as much as the setting.
TBH I'm not really expecting an TES 6 until like 2030. Like assuming it comes out in 6 years after Starfield that would be 2029.
PlayStation and Xbox ESO players, patch is live for Necrom
Looks like I'll be playing it in the nursing home then 😁
Is anyone experiencing a bug with investage tel rendys for new necrom dlc??
Hi, ScarletJedi5! This is a Discord for the single-player Elder Scrolls games developed by Bethesda Game Studios. Feel free to post about Elder Scrolls Online on ZeniMax Online Studio's forums, which you can find here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en
Ooo ok thank you
@dim reef Which role did you need specifically?
Personal hope is that it’s a launch title for the next series of Xbox consoles, unitonically
2031, TES6: Morrowind 2; Nostalgic Boogaloo
No more Morrowind plz lol.
Wind of Morrows, an Elder Scrolls 6 Story
Is TES6 going to be Xbox exclusive?
Is this also eso chat
Nope, just the single-player games
TES:O chat happens on their official forums I think
They don't have a Discord with chat. You can find their forums here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en

Is anyone beein able to download the content of the SKyrim cretion club. Every time I try to download anything it says that Im not connected to Bethesda. Dont know what to do D:
possibly, but technically no official announcement and there's this https://www.ign.com/articles/the-elder-scrolls-6-still-five-years-away-playstation-version-undecided
bigger question is if it even releases on current gen consoles
huh? there hasn't been official single player morrowind content in 20 years
Because we have other provinces lol, going back to Morrowind for another game would imo be ridiculous when we haven’t had games for the other provinces yet.
maybe the other provinces are just really boring in comparison 😤
If that’s what you believe, Morrowind is interesting but it’s really not that important to go back to anytime soon.
Morrowind already gets enough content from heavy bias. They've had enough time.
We only had 2 Expansions for them in ESO
Which tbf happened after 5 other Chapters between 1 and 7
1 and 7 are the only ESO Morrowind based expansions thus far.
Rather healthy gap before coming right back around.
I just don’t think for Mainline Titles we should get more Morrowind since Mainline Titles take much longer to release.
0 single player content since 2003
Who knew Dragonborn didn't have Dunmer stuff.
Morrowind and the Dunmer are well covered the other parts of Tamriel need it much more then the Dunmer will for a long time.
ESO has got it covered for Dunmer from 2017 and 2023
So i saw the like TESVI won’t be ready for another 5 or 6 years
We don't know
4 years is more likely. But we ultimately have no information beyond past trejds
So now that Bethesda has the technology to do it, we can expect to travel to the moons in TES6 right?
What Kai wrote has been said by Phil Spencer.
IS this chat for ESO aswell?
Having some issues logging in atm. D: IS there something going on?
⚠️We are currently investigating issues some players are having logging into the @TESOnline North American #Xbox megaserver. #ESO
Thank you Lunar!
Fair enough. Hadn't seen the new information.
That conflicts with statements made by Bethesda Softworks. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Yeah, i think we need to have to wait and see, Phil here just give a "safe" estimate, you don't know what happen in the future, also he talk based on his experience, if we follow usual BGS timeframe as per Pete Hines statement, it's around 4-5 years at max (sometime 3 if they were lucky), but anything could happen, like Starfield development, they took their time upgrading the engine, and more time to polishing the game etc.
Maybe by saying that rough estimate he was avoiding the exclusivity thing. By saying it now...would be negative maybe.
People should also remember that Covid happened during Starfield's development
I gotta admit man...
Being a tank in this game, in general, is underpowered.
These games, I say. I speak of Online, Oblivion, and Skyrim.
Stealth archery is where it's at.
Which is very realistic. That's the kind of combat style that will give you victory in the pre-gunpowder era. Just look at the Mongols. Speed, mobility, and accurate archery.
Whereas infantrymen in all of history were just sitting ducks encumbered by heavy stuff.
Hey there, im new to the discord and probably want to get in on elder scrolls 6 chat the most lol
for some reason i was suggested the skyrim soundtrack on youtube and now ive been listening to it for three days non stop
I mean, if you want to talk realism, there is no such thing as a "tank" class irl. There was never an instance where you wanted to sponge damage because people aren't an HP bar. It's always been about avoiding hits. Armor is a safety net, not a primary method of defense.
I think the characterization infantrymen as sitting ducks in unfair too, armor wasn't as encumbering as video games often make it seem. But I don't want to venture too far off topic
You are totally correct though that the tank playstyle is very underwhelming in TES, and stealth is way OP.
TES music has some of the most iconic tracks. Many of Jeremy Soule's tunes are permanently etched in my memory
Far Horizons is spine tinglingly good
i have to check out more of Jeremy Soule's stuff
and hopefully he's on board for tes6
oh......maybe not based on what im reading now 😬
Yeaaah... no one has any idea. Doubtful perhaps. 🤷
His best work remains Total Annihilation.
Oh hi there
👋
is there online chat?
This is a Discord for the single-player Elder Scrolls games developed by Bethesda Game Studios. Are the Dragon fires lit in skyrim? Or wad oblivion the last time since the amulet was destroyed?
For what?
for elder scrolls online duh
yeah no chat there
Just a chat box no voice chat on PC. just text like warcraft. Console has the voice chat
@open scaffold
Which sucks imo cause I like to socialise with ppl
They are gone. They were replaced with something else entirely.
If they are a thing they are stuck on in the sense of stopping Daedric invasions. Though one of the CCs appear to working on removing it.
Yeah they're gone. It makes that clear at the end of Oblivion.
What do u mean CCs?@tardy tiger
So there's no more amulet of kings and dragon fires after obliv? Why's the amulet in ESO? that's like 500yrs before Oblivion
I thought the amulet of kings was only for the Septim Dynasty in 3E?
Creation Club. The Cause opens an Oblivion Gate.
What's the cause? A skyrim mod?
The Amulet of Kings at least lore wise was meant to be the thing that lights the Dragonfires and is a thing from Alessia to Martin (Alessian, Reman and Septim Dynastys would have the Amulets. The Ayleids originally had the gem before the Nedes got their hands on it.
As Lich King mentioned, it is Creation Club content.
This chat is for the discussion of the single-player games
I haven't myself played ESO, never been much of an MMO player
Depends, some either like the gameplay or don’t, aside from that it has expanded the Lore for close to 10 Years since 2014, and you can play it mostly solo as well before ever buying a membership or anything regarding dlc.
yes if u like TES lore yes.
I actually read a book in Oblvion last night that talked about stuff in ESO
#CatherineTaberforElderScrollsVI as a female nord follower just fixing a comment that has bad punctuation
Everybody have good day and Todd I am rooting for your comeback
So being TESVI about 4-5 years away...do u think maybe Jeremy Soule will make the ost?
Whoever is chosen, the Skyrim soundtrack is a tough act to follow
They better be ready to brings all the feels
So true
I don't beleive Jeremy Soule would be used as didn't he have some legal stuff going on?
Mr. Soule and Bethesda do not have a working relationship anymore and it's not worth mentioning here.
Google it if you have to know. It took me a long time to get over it, as I've loved his music since 1997's Total Annihilation.
Ultimately, it's Bethesday/Zenimax's decision and they've made their decision. At the worst, if I end up hating the music in future titles, like I hate Fallout 4's music (not the radio, I love the radios but hate the soundtrack), I'll play without music for that "real" feeling.
I'm happy that Starfield's music appears to be excellent, or at least sufficiently "spacey".
Indeed. Inon Zur has done a great job composing for Bethesda for the last decade, and I look forward to seeing what he can contribute to the musical identity of TES
Inon Zur doing TES is something I’m unsure of, his Music has always had this bombastic feel to it with Fallout and even more so with Starfield.
The themes, definitely. I actually think a lot of the more general and atmospheric stuff in Fallout 3 and 4 is more mellow than Skyrim, while not quite fading entirely to the background like Oblivion.
Bombastic is good. I like me some Basil Poledouris.
I like Jeremy’s Music in Oblivion, to think a near death experience can inspire a whole soundtrack
It’s something I constantly have running through my mind.
That is a good soundtrack (Oblivion's).
By Azura By Azura By Azura!
I will have one character in Starfield with that Background... So I can flush him out an airlock
Yeah, TES will inevitably change and we should welcome that. In fact given the time between games I think we can expect the next title to feel quite different in many ways to previous ones. Heck, it may even be Todd's last game.
It'll be fascinating to see how TES changes in the future. And I'm eager to see it. I want new generations of fans to be moved by the tracks of new composers just as I was by Soule's work.
Good riddance, I say.

I've liked Soule's scores less with each Elder Scrolls game. So I'm interested to see what Inon Zur (or someone else) can do with the series, if they don't hire Soule. Personally I thought Zur's work on Dragon Age: Origins (also a fantasy game) was pretty good, so I'm optimistic.
I’m very sad and disappointed that the next Elder scrolls game will be exclusive
I guess all future elder scrolls games will be as well rip
Good Riddance? You make it sound like he was bad.
I'm glad they've parted ways. I don't think he was bad, obviously.
Bon Voyage! Godspeed! 'Bout time!
I would be down for Brad Derrick, The Composer of The Elder Scrolls Online to do the Music for VI
i mean its just straight from the microsoft ftc hearing
obviously not the real date but yah fair
Anybody want to reexamine the teaser trailer for clues as to the setting? 😂
I mean no point to other than to say it’s Hammerfell.
Can someone more familiar tell me what kind of landscapes to expect then? What is in hammerfell? Forests? Mountains? Snowy tundra?
Deserts, arid plains, steppes, mountains, coastal rainforests, alluvial river valleys, and grasslands mostly
Not rumor when it was confirmed
But I understand
Potentially, yes. It remains to be seen what is done with that potential.
I’ve just bought crowns for my son £20 worth to buy a sabre cat mount… and apparently it’s crown gems to purchase not crowns 🙈
The icons are very decieving as both the crown icon and crown gems icon looks very similar.
Bethesda/Zenimax should change the icon to something that looks a lot like a gem not a crown icon
That sucks, but unfortunately this discord is for single player TES games made by Bethesda Game Studios, not for ESO. As such, it's unlikely anyone relevant will see the issue here.
I would say Lore Channel here would allow for Lore regarding ESO
Just not anything else regarding ESO
Exclusive to what?
Because I see the sames on more than one platform (PC) and that's the legendary platform anyways.
Plus Bethesda games on Playstation are notorious for running the worst
And the fact Sony isn’t into the Modding Scene
Bethesda and Microsoft are made for one another
Xbox doesn’t do modding either also the reason why is because mods would pretty much destroy the game and the consoles can’t handle it
Easy for someone who only plays Xbox to say
Okay, so what?
You get to keep Bethesda games on your console so of course you would say that that’s all I’ll say
Gonna let you know right now, it really isn’t that big a deal to me, While I would like to play the Sony Exclusives I still have time to do so in my life, I don’t have to rush to play them immediately. I want to Play Spiderman, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon, Bloodborne and Demon Souls Remake.
Do I wish they weren’t exclusive like every game ever? Of course, but that’s the stance gaming companies want to do to sell there systems.
I also care nothing for the Console Wars whatsoever
Let's get back on topic please
Yes let’s, because I love Bethesda
I mean, let's be real
The lifeblood of BGS games is modding. So PC is it's realm home.
Agreed, take the console warring nonsense elsewhere
One thing I kinda hope NOT to see in TES6? Fishing.
I want to see open-lock spells return.
It's the only thing about Skyrim I don't like.
They're one of those things that... I like the IDEA of, but never the implementation
They just basically made Lockpicking superfluous
I bought skyrim anniversary edition when i went into creation club it said i had to pay for everything. Does anyone know how to fix this im on xbox?
YES because a student of magic would not use lockpicks like a common criminal.
But as a gameplay mechanic, it largely marginalises one of the core systems for interaction with zero consequences.
So, the IDEA is definitely a good one, but how it was handled was problematic.
Similar situations include Durability and Armour Types.
So idk when TESVI will come put but apparently TESXVI drops in 2026 😆
To make up for the long wait in TES it'll have TES 6-15 included on TESXVI
Honestly, I rarely used Open Lock spells in Oblivion and when I was playing a mage. Lockpicking was easy enough and lockpicks common enough that you could open just about anything. Whereas the spells basically only let you open according to your skill level (and if you purchased the right spell).
For the Record I care nothing for Console Wars
Open Lock was just terribly, clumsily implemented. And lockpicking being a mini game was infinitely exploitable even with a low skill
I hope they include Fishing.
Fishing was introduced in ESO and then Skyrim’s 10th Anniversary Edition, at this point Fishing is considered something that should be in an Elder Scrolls Game.
The Elder scrolls online is fun
If they do implement fishing I hope it can be done in both 1st and 3rd person. Over the years I have come to hate game mechanics that force 3rd person players into 1st person and 1st person players into 3rd person.
Ohh, that wasn’t directed your way, dude. No offence intended, I promise.
I wish I had the time for ESO 😦
Yeah, I hate forced changes in perspective
If you don't have time to make it work for both First and Third... Then cut it.
Or if you can't get it to work for first and 3rd... Cut it.
I will miss being able to shout it would be amazing if we could shout in next game
ESO allows fishing in both perspectives
- trapping on land
But also maybe the fish will be big enough to eat you at some point 😁
elder scrolls online shows a error message

it may not be Shouting, but we could very likely get similar special powers.
It definitely seems after Skyrim Bethesda is going the special powers route for Elder Scrolls Going forward, I think for Starfield it’s looking to be the same.
Shouts are just spells in game, just under a cooldown mechanic rather than a magicka spell bar.
I mean yes I know, what I mean by special powers though is some nobody else but you tend to have, even though everyone else is capable of learning it, you are considered the Unique individual capable of doing more with it.
Oh, yeah well if Starfield is getting them (how soon do mods removing it emerge I wonder?) TES: VI definitely will.
Sorry, wasn't really responding to you specifically wolf. I just don't get the hype around Shouts and why they have to become a series staple now
I personally wouldn’t want Shouts for the next game, do something new.
Indeed. And I think whatever new power we see will be dependent on the setting in question.
What if they expand on it more than one power to choose from, all within the same theme? I did feel a bit out of place as a sneak thief shouting all the time giving away my location 😅 IM-DOVAH-HEREE!!!
^ this touches on my hopes for it. I get that part of the thing with Starfield and this huge, hard to grasp scale but i'd prefer a focus on depth, detail & choice in ES6
That's part of why I'd actually rather... Not have that sort of special power at all. Magic's fine.
But the prophecy good sir the prophecy 😅
Prophecy didn't give the HOK or Nerevarine special powers.
Beyond being bad ass of course.
Hey, who’s online right now? Please holler.
Oh man, please don’t tell me this place is dead. I love this server.
I think most people are in the Starfield channels at the moment, they're very busy
Activity here always comes and goes, but it never dies entirely
they get unnecessarily angry over there
i dont like it
Yeah, lots of disagreements over unknown stuff
People get very excited so it leads to some spirited debates sometimes.
I apologize if this seems irrelevant (once I come up with a thought, I can't get rid of it)... I couldn't figure out if this should go here or the lore channel, but: Do Argonians molt?
"Argonians moult; they shed their scales every now and then to make way for new ones. Sometimes, they have difficulty losing their old scales, which may cling to their bodies. Thick brushes are designed for rubbing off shedding scales, but are detrimental to the dermal health of other races."
Argonians (Saxhleel, or People of the Root in their native language of Jel) are the reptilian natives of Black Marsh, a vast swampland province in southeastern Tamriel. The other races often refer to them as lizards or the Lizard Folk instead, especially when meaning to be derogatory. They are known as the foremost experts in guerrilla warfare t...
Stress can also cause Scales to come off
Anyone here?
We also shed our scales, they're just much smaller and not all at once, usually.
While we're at it, do Khajiit lick themselves? 😳
Thank you!
Good question. The males, according to a banned, lewd book in Morrowind, have similar reproductive physiology as male housecats.
Wouldn't surprise me (without looking) if Khajiit groomed like real life cats too.+
will the elder scrolls six have improved shaders with things like moveable grass, physics on clothing and wet surfaces or is the engine going to fail us again?
Hopefully...
With the new engine, and the tech created from Starfield, we can finally explore ALL of Mundus!
Maybe. Though I think that would ultimately be a waste of effort
I'd infinitely rather one well done province, than an entire multiverse of shallow worlds.
Grass in skyrim actually moving, just hard to notice it if you dont stand still and look at them for straight 30 seconds
Not just grass but trees too.
However if you meant something like stepping on grass and leave your marks like theHunter then we might wanna wait for Sf to confirm that

I know it's alot, but I'd love to see drastic changes as the seasons pass by in the province. Even things like lakes freezing over or drying up when rainy season is over
Depending on the region, seasons could be relatively easy to pull off.
In places like Valenwood, Summerset, Elsweyr and Hammerfell, there probably wouldn't be much freezing. Rather, 'Winter' would just mean more rain in the weather system.
I know it is stupid but I hope ES6 answers the eternal question regarding the existence of magical teleportation:
Why do ships exist if magicka users can just teleport people and objects across vast distances?
I always assumed it was because transporting cargo by teleportation would be too physically taxing to be commonplace, but imagine Amazon, ie East Empire Company, existing. They would totally hire mage for round the clock teleporting. It probably wouldn't be a terrible job except I bet they'd make you pee in a bottle instead of giving you a 15. Oh, maybe that is the real reason the Mages Guild exists? The teleportation mages unionized and limited teleportation to just people because the EEC was overworking them?
I really want an answer this question. It keeps me up at night.
Why do Container Ships exist if planes can travel 100x faster?
Could simply be a logistical issue. Transporting large volumes of people or goods would be debilitatingly difficult via magic, so more conventional means are used instead.
Food cannot be transported through Portals, doing so causes them to spoil.
We also aren't generally talking, like, WoW. Stable, continuous portals are extremely difficult to create in TES. short term ones over short distances are more common, though still seem to require highly specialised mages.
Which is already a thing fixed if I recall. I think the dude in ESO who hand;es the more magical crafting writs talks of it
I wouldn't hold out hope on it. Portals tended to be ignored lore wise which can get very silly when the world can and will use magic in war like Waterbreathing during the Reman-Morrowind wars and levataion during the Alessian Rebellion (What would later become Bravil)
Well regardless I wouldn’t be surprised if Portals are more a Luxury to those in Power
I wouldn't. As portals are used quite a bit which I think is probably what the Mage's Guild transport system probably is.
The lack of lore surrounding it is why it got overused by ESO.
I think it's more that at times TES doesn't look at magic for stuff at times. Like why not send some Battlemages across the sea, hide in a cave and open a portal and boom there's your invasion force.
it's the trouble of working with magic in worldbuilding I feel.
Could it be explained through either reluctance to use portals for fear of that type of magic, or that it takes a heavy toll on whoever maintains the portal?
Part of the problem now is we have ESO using it in war because the door was left wide open.
Which if I recall PvP Cyrodiil (wall towers), Stonefalls and Bal Foyan have portals with mages bringing soldiers to places in war.
I wish we could pretty much ignore ESO when it comes to TES Lore 😛
Eh it's less an ESO problem and more TES never really put anything with it so the door was open for them to do anything with it.
The worldbuilding of TES can weirdly just forget magic exists at times.
And immediately I know who to not speak to regarding Lore in general lol
I mean that's fair, I never really played ESO, I played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim but never got too deep into the lore
I enjoy reading about it, however never really gave it too much of a thought
That came out wrong, Didn’t mean to be rude about it, just that I among many other run into those in the community who would rather ESO not be considered canon when they already made it clear it is.
Ah, I see!
There is also some people who think ESO is the one that caused issues in General with lore but world building related things are not just an Issue in ESO, it’s occurred in the mainline games and it’s spinoffs and people for some reason either ignore that or just look at ESO like it shouldn’t count because it’s not a singleplayer game.
ESO did quite a bit for the Wood Elves if I recall. So it can't be ignored since it's responsible for like most of its lore.
And Khajiit as well.
Not only that but other cultures were also expanded upon like Argonians and Reachmen
Ultimately though everyone will either like lore additions or not.
The issue more becomes when people just decide to reject the things they don't like.
For instance, I can't stand basically everything in Valenwood in ESO. But it's still canon, in so far as it is currently what the standing lore says. Whether I like that or not.
interestingly, the idea that Argonians molt or shed is actually contradictory to a dev answer that was given once-upon-a-time on the issue after claiming Argonian skin was more snake-like and silky than it was rough and more traditionally reptilian
ofc, it's also worth noting they're morphologically diverse, obviously, so it's possible there's even some that don't... but the most official answer is still "yes," like pseron and everyone pointed to
it's not a big deal and we probably shouldn't stick to the topic, but i felt the need to point out that the uncensored version of the book you're talking about is from daggerfall, not morrowind
i think one of the major reasons that people can be so hard on ESO is it's done by ZOS instead of BGS, who has an entirely separate lore-team from BGS. they still communicate with, get resources from, and double check things with BGS, but considering that the original live game made it in with "[sic]" in so many books (iirc), it's clear there wasn't always as rigorous of a process for loremaking... fortunately, they've gotten better, but the team difference is still noticeable. it's obvious ESO is made game-first in a way that other TES games aren't, which is to be expected for an MMO, but still means a fundamentally different compatibility with lore, and requires a different type of worldbuilding than we normally experience with TES. i believe Schick even talked about this a little
Why can a non-vestige character (created in the ESO:Morrowind tutorial) use the wayshrine system? (2017-04-20):
Here you see a symptom of a dilemma that exists for ESO that was never an issue for the single-player games. A packaged single-player game is by its nature a self-contained fire-and-forget product—it may have retcons in it, but in the end it says what it says and it’s graven in stone, no matter what devs and players may have to say about it later. An MMO is a different animal: it’s a live game that evolves over time, changing due to both player feedback and the need to issue new content to keep it fresh. Everyone on this forum loves Elder Scrolls lore, and we do too, but every Elder Scrolls title is designed first as a game, and then lore is created to support its game-ness. New lore is ideally consistent with pre-existing background, but the lore has to support the game rather than the reverse. With ESO we have the unprecedented issue of having to write lore that supports a game that can then FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE in response to player feedback and external market forces. Before One Tamriel, you could look at ESO and say, “Okay, geography equals history, and where the player is on the map is where they are in time.” That no longer applies, and lore created to support the mechanics of the game at launch is now out of step with the observable world of the ongoing game. ESO: Morrowind, with its new non-Vestige tutorial, shakes that up even further. We have some ideas about how to explain these revisions to reality within the context of existing mythic structure … but since you brought it up, we’d love to hear YOUR ideas on how ESO’s current take on Nirn “makes sense” according to pre-existing lore. All right, the Vosh Ball is in your court—have at it!
he also claims that TES games are built game-first and lore-second, but imo they are built much more closely to one another than in ESO. the gameplay and lore are basically intertwined in the best cases, and everything feels so alive because of it. Morrowind absolutely reeks of the otherworldly through and through, Skyrim captures the adventure and grandiosity of its own province, and balancing everything isn't that big an issue - after all, it's single player, so you don't have to account for one person ruining everyone else's experiences, or someone jumping ahead in a questline or something because they joined a friend. the way lore operates has to change to accommodate those things
Yeah I figured
TBF TES games are gameplay first with lore being secondary. Because lore has always been fluid to allow devs to do whatever they want with the game they are currently working on regardless of previous games.
Want to add a new race out of nowhere? Go ahead it's fine
Want to completely change a faction that has already appeared? Go ahead it's fine. (Dark Brotherhoods change in TES4 and the constantly changing Blades)
Want to completely change a province despite previous descriptions? Go ahead it's fine
I mean I think we discussed this back in the other server with the Dark Brotherhood but they really had no actual backstory behind them besides being an Assassin group that splintered off from the Morag Tong and simply worked with Dagonists to get a foothold in Morrowind.
Still allowed them to be completly changed despite interactions in I think Daggerfall (?) Morrowind and its Tribunal expansion
Yeah but I just find it difficult to just look at Oblivion as just the Major change for them when they were pretty much just “A Splintered Group from The Morag Tong.”
If that makes any sense
Daggerfall had a book on the Dark Brotherhood I believe, it was also a book that mentioned the interregnum
It's still a major change for them as we have the dev who worked on them that said he wanted to change their lore.
I think Daggerfall had the chance to join I just cannot check it now as i;m finishing up in ESO right now
Yeah I’m aware, but I also think on one hand the fact there wasn’t much to say about them besides heresay would just mean changing the lore of them in 4, while a change, didn’t feel like a change but more of an expansion of what we really didn’t know.
I hope that makes sense
It’s why Emil saying that confuses me because the Dark Brotherhood just really didn’t feel all that fleshed out as it was prior to Oblivion.
Not really much to be confused about because TES2 and 3's version wasn't a evil murder cult that wasn't a twisted catholicism if I recall his words.
Yes in that regard yeah. I’m just trying to explain that while we now have the iteration of Oblivion going forward for the series at large, I look at the Dark Brotherhood of the past as not just an example of early lore but just that they were pretty much nothing but an Assassin Group with nothing more than that to them.
Which in some cases is better.
The Dark Brotherhood being one of those cases.
Basically, prior to Oblivion the Dark Brotherhood was either a Thieves Guild splinter that accepted murder contracts (which the Thieves Guild refused for practical reasons. Murder brings more attention from the authorities) of a Morag Tong splinter faction that wanted to branch out from the orders more strict rules. Possibly a merger of both.

eso is on gamepass yea?
Yes.
Who much hours left na server ps?
Im curious, does anyone else lowkey kinda hope that Starfield doesnt do very well/flops in hopes that'll make Bethesda put triple effort in to TES 6? If ES6 ends up being awful (which im sure it wont as Bethesda are pretty reliable with TES games) then im sure modders will end up remaking Skyrim on the ES6 engine anyway 😂
Personally I hope it does well just to shut up the Elder Scrolls and Fallout Fans that hope for it to fail so they can get there precious games faster, and this is coming from a Fan of both.
Been waiting 12 years for TES 6... think we have the right to be getting impatient. I thought they were waiting for UE5 but I was wrong
Oh no everyone who are fans have a right to be impatient, but hoping for it to fail is selfish as well
Bethesda finally doing something new is a good thing that could spawn an entire new franchise for people to follow.
We’ll essentially have a Trinity.
Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Starfield.
Which was the last Fallout game?
Singleplayer wise it was 2015
Which was the one that flopped badly?
76 in 2018, it flopped at launch only to recover in the years since with it’s own dedicated fanbase lol
If by 'Flopped' we mean 'was a minor to middling success but failed to achieve expected sales'.
1.4 million sales is still not a flop
More to the point, no. I hope Starfield is a success, and sets a good precedence to start off the BGS-Microsoft relationship, rather than tanking the studio's credibility right out of the gate with their first post-takeover release.
Starfield being a success means solid confidence from Microsoft in the marketability of BGS, and thus greater willingness to invest in their future titles.
Ultimately, despite my criticisms, I never want a Bethesda game to fail. Because even at their worst, their games scratch an itch no one else does. And their potential puts them closer to Revolutionary than most of the industry.
As a general rule, though, I don't want ANYONE'S games to fail. Except for one studio who will go unnamed.
i’ve got a question for anyone who can answer, i have looked high and low for an answer online and i am coming up empty handed. i never got the dinner invitation to begin the quest “guests for dinner” on skyrim anniversary edition. i have tried to add the item using console commands and adding the quest in the same way, but i’m new to the whole console commands thing and am having problems. i just want to u lock the bloodchill manor but the game is doing everything it can to stop me i guess. anyone who can help me out would be greatly appreciated.
Baldur’s gate fans can wait over 20 years for a sequel. We should be fine
Think TES has a much bigger fan base
Have you tried triggering the next quest stage to bypass the item check?
the cave isn’t even there when i go to it for some reason
And you have the quest? What does it say in the Journal?
i don’t have the quest
Ok, let me do some readi g and I'll get back to you
thanks
Ok, step 1, make sure the module is installed and active.
If it is, try setstage ccEEJSSE005_Quest 30 1
i’ll try it when i get a chance and i’ll let you know
Cool cool.
so it is listed under the installed content in the game settings but the console command did not work
it says “compiled script not saved”
@feral viper
Anyone awake?
Hmm, unfortunately that about puts us at the end of my experience using the console commands
not sure what else to do
Nor am I, unfortunately.
Anyone here?
I am
Mostly. Depends on where 'Here' is.
Technically, I was somewhere else when I wrote that, and am now several hundred km away from where I was.
The perfect defense lol
i would recommend going and doing some other content and hoping the courier shows up, or fast travel a bunch
i’ve done both unfortunately
update idk what i did but i think i fixed it thanks for helping 🙂
Excelent. Enjoy
imo, Starfield is lowkey a test-run for TES6. the fact that they're testing deeper character creation especially makes me hopeful that it'll succeed. if all they get is hate because the game is bad, that means they don't get much positive feedback on the things we do want to see more of. it also means less funding for TES6, and could mean that they've gotta scrap things that they thought were good ideas - meaning it could take longer as they replace those ideas. overall, Starfield succeeding feels like the biggest win a TES fan could get rn besides a new TES game. Starfield failing could doom TES6 just as hard
has bethesda ever commented on young scrolls music?
I'm afraid I don't quite understand. What do you mean by "young scrolls" music?

I am not aware of any representative from the company commenting on the video. But I do know that Craig Sechler (voice actor of the Adoring Fan) likes the video very much. He speaks of it here:
You knew him as the voice of the Adoring Fan from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Butch of the Tunnel Snakes from Fallout 3. Now, Craig Sechler has arrived on The Cyber Den to talk about his illustrious acing career!

Indeed. Though I think given the functional differences in approach they've shown between TES, Skyrim and now Starfield show that they aren't married to a single character-building dynamic
So it's entirely possible that the 'deeper' character creation of Starfield may ultimately have little to no impact on how they approach TES6s character creation.
I do not think it is possible, but probable. Likely even.
Different game, different priorities.
Indeed. I still think Skyrim presents one of the best foundations for an RPG, mechanically, that we've ever had. Though it needs some significant work to polish up
true. ig i just hope that if it gets positive feedback then they'll be more incentivized to bring it to TES6
I have a very low opinion in regards to general gamer feedback. But I do hope Bethesda listens to the more thoughtful commentary, rather than the mob.
I think Bethesda is.
The Fallout 3 lockpicking was well received and has remained a staple (for example).
The Fallout 4 dialogue system looks like it's been dropped (thankfully) or tweaked heavily.
The voiced protagonist has been dropped all together and I think that means they've been listening.
You can hear it in Todd Howard's voice in the directs. They do care and they want to please us.
I'm more than happy to continue this in #off-topic
Again though, it's a questions of what lessons they're taking, and how they can apply to TES.
Reverting dialogue to the old approach was a major step backwards, showing that the wrong lesson was taken.
On the other hand, a lot of the skill and perk stuff that's been learned from FO4 and will be learned from Starfield doesn't really have that strong a direct application in TES.
At least not without a major shift in how the games handle Skills and character abilities.
It's not too far fetched to imagine that, given how Skills and Perks work in Starfield, we'll see the traditional Skill system in TES disappear entirely. Which would be a major loss, IMO
I agree with your analysis but not the conclusion about any changes being a loss.
Fundamentally, Elder Scrolls is a use-it-then-gain-skill-points system and Fallout is a experience-points-earned-then-spent system.
It's one of the unique things about the Elder Scrolls. I think Skyrim finally fixed it, and the Legendary inclusion uncapped that in a way I think is good.
We'll have to wait and see if they go for a Fallout-traditional-XP system or not. Part of me hopes they don't, keeping that very unique aspect of the Elder Scrolls, but if it ends up being fun and doesn't harm role play I'm not against a change like that either.
As a bard it would be cool to create my own songs in-game and hear the bards sing them throughout the lands telling my epic stories thru song (even my own house bard). I could write like the worst lyrics ever and totally off-beat and hear them wherever I go ☺️
Furthermore, I'll ofc start my own boy bard band and have tomatoes, cabbages, & sweetrolls thrown at me on a daily basis.
It would be cool if a certain type of regenerative magic of it's own accord was fused with the music. Kinda like how Ocarina of Time made stuff happen whenever you played it.
While I agree, that would be neat as heck... Buuut I don't really see a way to approach it without resorting to AI voice duplication.
Which is one hell of a dubious grey area right now. And thus, highly unlikely.
Agreed. And ultimately... I just think TES' approach is superior in basically every way.
Yea I kno the voice would be limited, I was thinking more of the instruments and lyrics for now.
I think both approaches have their pros and cons.
I suppose they did do something similar with the Burning of King Olaf in Skyrim.
As do I, on the grand scale of things, but I think a Skill-Driven EXP model has more pros and fewer cons than an Objective-Driven EXP model.
Anyone able to help with a console command issue I’m having? 👀
Maybe. What's the issue?
I’ve used the ‘Setrace NordRaceVampire’ command to revert her back to vampire form since I regretted curing her. But her face is awful, it’s changed to a crimson shade with vampiric features… is there anything I can do to fix it other than having to stick with her human form?
Serana* that is
She looks so bad 😂
As far as I know, there's no way to do it. When you set race Vampire, it turns them into a standard Vampire, which brings with it the normal modifications.
Ah damn 🫤
I don't actually know if there is a way to manually set it to Vampire Lord through the console, but I'll do some googling and see if I can find a command.
Thank you! Very appreciated
Ultimately I just wanted a way to revert my decision in curing her. But I don’t think there’s a way 🫤
Indeed... All I'm finding is a way to add the spell to transform
Unfortunately, it seems like a hard baked decision that you can't force a reversal of
Do you have an older save you can revert to?
I do yes. I’m on that save at the moment
Oh do you mean before I cured her?
I do, but I’ve made a ton of progress after that point… so I’m hesitant to go back 🥴
Cheers for looking 👍🏼
No problem. Sorry I couldn't find a solution.
I agree, for the Elder Scrolls. For Fallout (and I suspect for Starfield, depending on how it goes) I like the other way.
"With this character's change, the thread of happy gameplay is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of immersion, or persist in the doomed world you have created."
I dont know why. Maybe it's because Bethesda games don't follow the more etablished RPG tropes...
For some reason I'm fascinated by the Thieves Guild both in Skyrim and in Oblivion. More than the actual Warriors Guild of each game.
One “trope” I find rather annoying, because people put it in there whether they’re moderators or modders, is the “bikini armor” trope.
How do moderators put tropes into games?
I think they meant developers or modders, most likely
Yes, that occurred to me about two minutes after I wrote the post. I actually came back to ask if that's what they meant, lol. 🙂
Yup, I do.
I understand why the bikini armors are popular, but I too find them ridiculous. I get the "fantasy" vibe but I want steel plated Companions rejects tearing through the lines with me looking like the power armored Starship Troopers with swords that we are.
Doubly so for firey, Riften Righteous Rearrangerators too.
I think classical, Sword and Sorcery visuals have a place in over the top, absurdist Fantasy settings.
TES has not been one of those for the better part of 30 years..
Tonight my birthday i go seaside. Restaurant with family
Happy birthday
I agree. I'm not fundamentally opposed to them in any way. Its all in good fun. But they clash so terribly with TES's visual style I don't really understand how other people can stand it.
You'd have to do a total overhaul to make TES resemble something out of the 80's Conan sex-charged high fantasy ascetic to make bikini armors look like they belong
Hormones, most likely.
But, getting into more subjective tastes... As I've gotten older I've fallen further rand further out of love with that sort of aesthetic, and as a whole, that sort of Warrior-Depiction.
A bunch of half naked Berserkers flailing about like a drunk frat boy on the dance floor are infinitely less impressive than a block of well drilled infantry fighting like competent soldiers.
I actually, apparently, let out an audible 'Oh God yes' on my first viewing of the new Napoleon trailer, when they showed an overhead of regiments actually advancing in formation, rather than as a mob like so many movies.
Which, tangentially... Skyrim's Civil War battles highlighted just how poorly equipped the engine is to handle any plot or interaction of that scale.
It was also an element in Oblivion, with the Oblivion Crisis feeling more like an annoying bandit raid than a dedicated and widespread invasion of any sort, but... After Skyrim it became pretty clear that they should just avoid War stories altogether.
It's less about numbers, and more about back end things like behaviours, AI tracking, necessary specialised animations etc.
Adding numbers just turns it into a mob... Which may be appropriate for some things, but like... The Legion? There is no sodding way they'd fight like that.
Yeah, one of the biggest causes for frame drops in Oblivion and Skyrim mods are NPC behavior. Get too many npcs in a scene and the game starts to tank
It would be great if this could be fixed or streamlined better in future games
Yeah, like... Transitioning from individual and unit behaviours in a dynamic way isn't exactly easy to do. But it's something that's absolutely necessary if you're going to try to approach any sort of military engagement.
Otherwise you just get Hollywood schlock battles.
I should rewatch that...
Hey... that would be a neat role play, for any of the games.
I wonder how Zena holds up these days... 🤔
A lot better than Hercules
I wish most everything could be used as a weapon since you already pick up a lot of things. Crack a wine bottle over the head or temporarily blindness from sweetroll icing to the face. Would be great if they brought back thrown weapons skill to go with all that.
It's the CGI from that period. It's rough. I love Babylon 5 but I seize hard when I see the CGI.
Yeeeah..
i love the elder scrolls 😄
Never could get into them. It's like they're written in some extinct language or something. Not an easy read, I tell ya what.
i get the big print copies its way easier
i have some study guides too theyre v useful
No grilling/propane related emojis. (Lemon drop) Unacceptable.
I hear reading them is like getting kicked by a horse. Makes ya go blind.
The Thalmor have a master mother seer, I aptly call, The Beastess.
She sees all and knows all, Hank Fire-Bringer.
But they won't get Rustee Shackles-for-D, the Khajiit master assassin.
*takes drag on Skooma hooka
Slow your roll there, Nu-Hatta
Baldur's Gate 3's hype train deeply worries me.
Not because I expect the game to be bad, but because I'm concerned about the lessons the industry will take from it, and what that could mean for RPGs like TES
Which hype? The one where people are saying Baldur's Gate III has 17,000 endings?
And has 174 hours of cut scenes, thousands of choices, infinite replayability etc.
The cutscenes thing probably refers to Dialogue as well, making it technically true but not actually very accurate.
Similar to Fallout 3 having '200 endings'.
Which, just to be clear... I am entirely against anyway. Alternate ending and 'choice' are over rated platitudes that ultimately do nothing to add to the story and almost always make it worse.
Tim Cain posted a video today listing features he likes in RPGs. With one exception (slideshow endings) I pretty much agree with his points. I think the Elder Scrolls games fulfills these criterion (to a lesser or greater degree) pretty well. Terical will probably take issue with some of these, though. 🙂
I talk about the features I like and expect to see in an RPG when I play one, which are unsurprisingly the features I add to my own RPGs.
Do you think it would be overdelivering ?
It may.
Gamers in general have a problem where they let perfection get in the way of progress, and compare everything to the 'best' as a standard rather than what they often are.
Extraordinary examples.
I remember destiny 2 devs calling Elden Ring over delivering and proceeded to deliver the worst expansion of destiny 2
Well, IMO, as a Souls-like, Elden Ring underdelivered basically as a rule of thumb. But that's a whole other discusion
Gamers tend to set their standards to the highest example possible, rather than recognising quality for it's own sake.
I agree with this
True
Baldur's Gate 3 will be good. It will likely be great. Larian is like Sabaton, in that they have never failed to deliver something I like.
Buuut... I'm somewhat concerned about the lessons everyone ELSE take from it.
Not ignoring you, I'm just finishing up work and can't easily watch a video. Soon though.
Hello people how's it going? I've written about this in the other channels I think it fits better in, this one seems to be more active so I'm hoping I actually get a reply, I'm wondering if there is any way to mod SkyrimVR for the psvr (PS4). I've looked online for answers but have found conflicting answers so I'm turning to the community of discord for guidance
Unfortunately, I have zero experience with PS, so there's nothing I could do but search myself. And you seem to have that avenue covered.
I don’t think mods are supported on ps in general
They need to fix the Elder Scrolls Online launcher as I have waited about 6 hours waiting for the game to download and then it went and said I didn't have enough space so fixed the space and I tried it again but this time I had to wait about two hours at which point it said there had been an error and it needed to repair but once I clicked to repair it just came up with the exact same message asking if I wanted to repair. It did this about five times and now I'm waiting yet again to download the game. What is going on with this?

Is there not a Discord channel for it?
There is, yes (you can access it by clicking on #official-sites ) but it mainly serves as a platform for developer announcements.
I have a friend who has the non VR version modded, I was just trying to be hopeful that someone knew of a way to get them set up on the VR version
For the most part, I agree with everything he says. Except for the storytelling aspect.
I utterly hate alternate endings, and cannot name a single game which I would say was improved by those sorts of 'Choices'.
In general, I view them as a crutch for writers to not have to explore complex narratives and reflect the agency of OTHERS within the narrative.
They're just a clumsy and lazy way to emphasise a narrative power fantasy that strips the world and story of any sort of actual life.
I like alternate endings for side and miscellaneous quests. But not for main quests. When it comes to main quests I prefer to be given alternate paths that arrive at one definitive ending.
Yeah. At the end of the day, telling a multifaceted story that has to be viewed from multiple angles allows you to account for some degree of player choice and agency, creates meaningful consequences that can't just be ignored by a do over, and tells a far better story
And it's something I wish developers would do more, instead of reaching for the low hanging fruit of meaningless 'choices' for the sake of player ego.

How come it asks me for ps plus when my disc says no subscription required and I never need a subscription
PS Plus is needed to go online at all, I believe.
It's a Sony end thing, not the game.
Alrighty, well... This came up in another discord and I thought I'd bring it up here as well to see if it garnered any discussion.
Pertaining to Skills, I do think that Skyrim's more minimalistic approach is superior to older approaches due to its ability to cover both the natural foundation of Like-Skills, as well as the specialisations within broader concepts.
What do I mean by this?
Look at Daggerfall. It has Axe, Blunt, Long Blade, Short Blade, and Critical Strike. All as independent Skills.
The issue with this is... Fighting, regardless of the weapon used, relies on many of the same fundamentals of movement and footwork. A master Fencer isn't going to pick up an Axe and suddenly be entirely useless.
Ways people have proposed to deal with this disconnect typically involve % contributions to similar Skills, to represent the overlap. So, for instance, Long Blade may offer 40% experience gain to Short Blade, and 20% to Axe and Blunt.
Which IS a solution, but creates the additional problem of a lot of back end clutter that the Player needs to track, of may just not have access to at all. And that makes character management far more difficult and unintuitive.
Skyrim's approach, however, is simply and easy to follow. Skills are grouped largely based on Lke-Activities. Using 1-Handed Weapons. Talking to people. That sort of things. So, by default, the Skills represent the unified fundamentals of those activities.
You then use perks to represent the specialisations within those activities. 1-Handed does this the best, though even then not super well. But it helps encapsulate the potential.
Which is very much true
They won’t be as skilled with using it but the same mentality of dodge and attack is still there.
Yeah
The overall beauty of Skyrim's system (not necessarily it's use of that system) is that you can add any specialization you want into those broader, activity-driven Skills.
Skyrim uses Blade, Axe and Blunt as specialisations within 1-Handed Weapon. Which is a fine base-line example. But there's no reason you can't have Scimitar, Katana, Hatchet, Dagger, Mace, Hammer, Longsword, etc.
Even more, you could just as easily break it into specific styles and techniques WITH particular weapons. Differentiating between, for instance, Mamluk style Scimitar fighting and Moorish style.
Without any systemic changes, you can go as deep as to specialise how you fight with individual styles of weapons.
Which is something that would be headache inducing to try and achieve in a pure Individual Skill model..
I love what Bethesda did with skills and perks in Skyrim and I hope they expand and improve on that foundation when they develop TES VI.
Indeed. I think it's a system with near limitless potential, which can do everything the older system did, and more, with relative ease.
It just needs to be used well
Hi everybody!
I have laggy cursor issue in oblivion and I wonder how to solve it. Any ideas?

But the disc says no subscription required and no ps plus, but when I got my new PlayStation 4 because my old one wouldn’t take disc anymore I clicked on the one I bought through the ps store it said use disc I said yes and it’s never asked me for ps plus until now
Dunno, unfortunately.

Has anyone played Crusader Kings 3 mod Elder Kings?
Wish I could send a picture here but the attention to detail to bring Nirn to life is insane
Sent it to #screenshots-and-video
I kinda feel like the ESO crafting style system could work pretty well in a single plauer format, without the monetisation ofc
In fact I think it makes more sense than the systems in Skyrim etc
If a nord smith learnt to forge armour with dwemer metal, it doesn't make sense that it would look exactly like dwemer- made armour

I have been thinking with BGS making Creation Engine 2 and its ability to go to 1,000 planets in Starfield. I hope for ES6 we can go to other moons around Nirn, not other planets just moons. I loved how there is a floating moon in Vivec in Morrowind, no other Elder Scrolls games had something similar. I know the moon in Morrowind is another cell, but at least it was something.
I believe in ESO you were able to go to Jone and Jode’s Planes.
Who is Jone and Jode's planes. I mean technically the Oblivion planes in Oblivion are also planes or realms yes?
Jone and Jode are The Khajiit Moons
Oh, well I have no idea how ESO handles other realms or planets or traversal seamlessly.
I don’t remember how it was done, I think something involving a Moon Gate
If it is similar to going to a Oblivion plane like in Oblivion then eh.
I mean I don’t see why it ultimately matters.
If anything they are Visible Planes in the Sky that can be reached through special means
The Moon Rock you are referring to was said to be from the Void, which is the Unknowns if anything, so I don’t see how that’s any special
It matters cause I want a seamless traversal, no loading screen, no cell. Just fly up from where I am to the moon or moons.
Well I don’t know if you know this but it was already confirmed at some point there is a loading screen with leaving to and from the planet in Starfield.
Yes, but right now there is also conflicting info, some are saying you can go travel all around the planet in your space ship from one end to another end without loading screens and land in any point without a set trajectory, however the spaceship auto lands apparently. Also once you get into space there is no loading screens flying around the planets engaging in spaceship combat fighting other spaceships.
Well yeah you can fly above the Planet itself and dogfight I believe, it’s just when you actually have to land it will transition is what I hear.
Anywho I don't want to argue about this over and over I want a moon I can fly up to with like a levitation spell like in Morrowind with the moon above Vivec's palace. Without a cell though. The moon in Morrowind is a 3D modeled moon too.
I feel though that the Levitation spell was to Gamey as it is if you can go that high, it feels very out of place when I look at the series as a whole.
Maybe it is my nostalgia since I played Morrowind back in 2002 when it came out, but I loved the levitation spell Morrowind has.
I have no doubt Levitation exists in the series among the more Advanced Wizards, just going that high always felt off to me.
Speaking of moons, someone recently made a mod for Morrowind that renders the 2 moons you see in the sky in 3D, with plans to make them disappear and appear behind cloud cover and how the sun light hits them and reflects. This is a pretty big achievement in modding for Morrowind and I believe it is done on regular Morrowind not OpenMW.
That sounds cool
Hopefully whatever this modder achieves. I can use a levitation spell and float up to those moons and see how they are rendered.
Hlo
I don't think we will ever see something like Levitating to the Moons.
For one, space in TES probably doesn't work like that.
For another, it's immensely silly.
For a third, that doesn't seem to be what Starfield does either, and we've been explicitly told that moving from space to the surface of a planet to land will not be seamless.
And finally... We don't need the extra space, really. TES is scaled to, at its smallest, 1:18,000. There's an immense amount of room to grow before something like seamless transition to other planets should even be considered.
Just from a worldbuilding standpoint, gradually increasing the scale as technology allows should be the main focus in that regard, I think. There isn't a whole lot to be gained from going to a pair of maggot infested corpses anyway.
We can already go to a moon and that is in Morrowind above Vivec. Also Elder Scrolls Battlespire are spires in the sky. In Starfield on the planet you can travel anywhere on the planet with your spaceship with no set trajectory although landing is automatic it seems. Also spaceship to spaceship combat in space and next to a planet or a moon is seamless.
Baar Dau was never a Moon. It's a Moonlet, which is a fancy term for a large asteroid.
And sure. A Battlespire that needed active Portals to access, and which one person tried to fly from and was never heard from again.
We also don't actually know the size of the planet areas in Starfield.
And yes. Moving in space in Starfield does seem to be seamless (minus grav-jumps) but moving from space to Planets has been stated to not be. So it's not really the same thing.
And again... Just because Starfield does something, doesn't mean TES should do it as well. Especially when there are more valuable things to invest time in.
Specifically referring to Baar Dau, the term Moonlet refers to any large body that is large enough to gravitationally effect dust and debris in its vacinity, but too small to be an actual Moon (IE being large enough to have cleared it's orbital path of objects).
These objects are uniformly too small to be spherical, which...
Is actually kinda impressive how accurate Baar Dau is to the term.
Eh I feel like we are going to keep on going around in circles arguing about this. Anyways I hope we get some kind of travel to a moon in TES 6.
Maybe not the MOON, but I've got some ideas about Moonshadow...
Even though I think the Ash Pits is probably the most appropriate Daedric Plane to explore in relation to Hammerfell.
so is ESO not included in the category here?

Ah OK. I'm only really here for Starfield anyway; I was just curious.
so i run the game and it starts too download anniversary edition and then stops part way with a cant connect to bethesda.net
I... Do not want that sort of Spell Crafting back, honestly.
With a little creativity, you can do much, much, MUCH better than resorting to what is basically just an editor spreadsheet.
I want Spell Crafting, but like many things... I'd rather it be done well, or not at all.
And Morrowind and Oblivion's Spell Crafting was not done well.
Though, if I had to pick one system between Disposition, Durability, and Spell Crafting to return... Magic is definitely at the top of that list.
It was basically the same system, just accessed through a different source.
The system it's self is the problem, not just the access mechanism though.
Yes, it was for the most part. But it was pretty boring before too.
Magic has never really been good in TES
Dare I say, it's never been ... Magical
So I have this problem with Skyrim on my steam deck. There is no dialogue options. I haven’t had this problem on my regular pc so idk if it’s a Skyrim glitch or a steam deck issue?
Do you have any mods installed? By the way, it might be good to post this in #1087805579399004210 as well.
Ok I’ll try there and no I don’t have any mods installed yet. I do want unofficial patch on both pc and steam deck
Magic balance has never been done well.
At least Skyrim improved on the Animation side of things.
I prefer Skyrim's magic. I could never get interested in playing a mage until Skyrim. My only real gripe is the limited number of spells.
I think Skyrim does a lot to make Magic more behaviourally interesting and was generally a step in the right direction. Like most things in Skyrim really.
It just didn't go far enough in that direction for me, in many cases.
I agree on the behavior point. Like the rune "trap" spells for example. Especially if we include the Shouts. But honestly it was just merely recovering from losing many of its most interesting spells in Oblivion
Oblivion was really a low point as far as interesting spell effects are concerned. Only "saved" by spell crafting.
Yeah... Oblivion suffered from Magic being an add on, and not any sort of commitment. Morrowind wasn't great, but it at least required you to put your weapons away in order to cast spells meaning you had to actively make some sort of commited decision, even if rather minor, to use magic.
Oblivion just made it so there was no situation to ever not just have a spell ready to go. Magic became a superficial, tacked on bonus and not an actual engaging dynamic.
Is there like any permanent werewolf mods on SE XB1
Skyrim, then, made it a full on commitment. You have to sacrifice a hand to even use Magic. Which was a great change. As was the different mechanically different spell behaviours and dynamics.
Unfortunately, I have no information to offer on that.
Already thanks for telling me tho
Hmm I wonder if I could cast magic from other body parts like my mind or feet (super leap)? Or at least give me a conjuration spell to give me like 6 arms total. I mean conjuring those daedric weapons, might as well give me magic arms too so I can duel swing like 6 daedric daggers at once. Ah heck, conjure me up some Mora tentacles too so I can melee whip chaps from afar.. and reach stuff in hard to reach places like that itchy spot on your back
Skyrim magic is more sophisticated than magic in Morrowind or Oblivion. Here are a few reasons why I think this is so (broken into parts due to length).
-
Secondary destruction effects. In Morrowind and Oblivion elemental destruction spells were interchangeable. They all did one thing only: they whittled down enemy health. Skyrim added secondary effects to the elemental destruction spells, giving us valuable additional reasons to choose one element over another. Shocks spells became very useful against mages, frost spels became very useful against fast-moving enemies, fire became very useful against enemies with high health pools.
-
New delivery options. Morrowind and Oblivion only offered touch (which never made much sense to me, as projectile spells were equally effective at close range) and projectile spells. Skyrim offered dual casting, concentration, cloak and rune spells, each offering distinct advantages in certain situations. Dual casting was essentially mini-spellmaking that could be created on the fly in the heat of battle; runes introduced a sneaky option that didn't exist before; cloak was useful against melee enemies, channeled spells introduced elemental damage-over-time (as well as the potential for area-of-effect) spells into the series for the first time.
-
Perks. Oblivion gave us a mere four perks per school. To make matters worse, every character who leveled a shcool was forced to take the same four perks whether it made any roleplaying sense or not (in this it was the same as all other perks in the game). And to make matters even worse than that the only thing that magic perks accomplished was to unlock the next level-gated tier of spells. Skyrims perks could be chosen by the player, adding a bit of customization to each character, In addition, the perks could grant extra effects such as paralysis, disintegration and stagger.
-
Sound. Skyrim introduced casting sound. This added a tactical element to combat. Sneaky mages could take a perk to eliminate casting sound, non-sneaky mages could use a casting sound to draw enemies into a rune.
- Experience formulas. Morrowind and Oblivion only counted numbers of effective casts. This encouraged some player to cheese the system by repeatedly casting low-level spells to level up faster. The more sophisticated formulas used by Skyrim discourage meta-gaming by incorporating additional factors. We gain more destruction experience by doing more damage, gain more Alteration experience by revealing more NPCs with a Detect Life spell, ect.
These are just a few examples of the ways in which I think Skyrim improved our magic experience and why I find it more interesting than past games. Could it be improved? Absolutely. Skyrim gave us a wonderful foundation (which modders have expanded upon) but much more could have been done. This is true of all games in the series and, frankly, it is true of most video games.
Nevermind no one want us to have a permanent werewolf kinda dumb
Happy Sunday folks!
It's made by a different Studio. ESO has it's forums at https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com
Hey guys, what do the structures on the Isla of Balfiera look like from above? Is it a circle with two smaller one's attached like the Imperial City? Thank you.
Based on the most recent depiction of it, it's basically just White Gold Tower, with fortified curtain walls sticking out of it. It's not as enclosed as the Imperial City is.
Are there two connected circles like the imperial city prison and the Arcane University?
Nope, just the tower and some satellite fortifications connected by the curtain walls.
Thank you
People still doing Multi-Boxing/Bot Accounts in ESO on Console? Or is Console and PC Cross platform now?

I swear, if I got a dollar for every time a member forced you guys (the mods) to paste this, I'd be so rich 😂 I feel bad for you all
How do I submit a mod I made to the console version of Skyrim?
I created a mod for the PC version but I would like to send it to consoles, how do I send it?
Do NOT put multiplayer in the elder scrolls 6 GOSH,thats what elder scrolls online is for yo
… Why would they?
So your girlfriend/wife can be your companion in co-op 😆
i wouldnt mind co-op in ES6 but no more multiplayer would be very optimal
Co-op’s fine.
If rather no multiplayer, period. But co-op is at least on the tolerable end.
What my friends and I always wanted was just a world where the three of us could run around, nobody else. Open Morrowind, TES3MP is exactly what we envisioned. TES: Online not so much.
We can do quests together, duel, or run off and do our own thing
should i get oblivion and morrowind on steam or GOG?
Doesn't matter I think. Gog usually gives you a steam key if you want
Steam. But I refuse to use, or endorse the use of, GoG
What did GoG do?
Jipped me $15 years ago. And I've never forgiven them.
I just wanted PT/BR subtitles on TES Online...

Anyone know a fix to this i finished mirrak and now I'm spawning high up in skaal village and falling to my death im on psvr so i cant open my menu (one with items, magic, ect) in mid air any fixes?
Uuuh... Whirlwind Sprint and aim for the nearest water.
Depending how high up you are, you may be able to get far enough to make a wet landing.
Has anyone experienced this in ESO Necrom Chapter? https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/636814/necron-main-quest-bug-hidden-fate-reach-the-eye-of-mora-portal-to-infinite-panopticon
Im Currently stuck, and im not sure how to move on..
Quest: Hidden Fate Step: Reach the Eye of Mora Bug:
Do you have the Become Ethereal shout? That makes you immune to fall damage iirc

Dragon shouts havent worked while im in falling
Can use shouts for some reason
Well since you're not on PC then I think the best you can do is reload an earlier save
Try #1087805579399004210 or #elder-scrolls-support someone there might be able to help
ES6 when?
Tommorow
After Starfield most likely. BGS did say that they are going to be doing Starfield > ES6 > new Fallout in that order.
You mean Skyrim 2
Morrowind 4
Skywind, Skyblivion, and Skyrim in one big package.
I’ve been wondering this, Is Dovakhiin, Tiber Septim?
Hmmm… not likely.
ES6 will likely be out for next gen consoles, 2028 or so if Starfield is successful enough.
If not, it will be out by 2025-26
microsoft said they dont wanna release a series x "pro"
maybe thats a hint (no new TES until next xbox console release). With the exception of them losing money with Starfield.
My guess? TESVI for 2028 with the new xbox console (bundle)
In the middle, some remaster, or maybe Daggerfall remake.
Well reason I asked is because dovakhiin and Tiber septim are very similar in regards to how both of their lifestyles have played out. And || shor being tiber septim || but not appearing in ||hall of valor|| is kinda sus, which is why I was wondering if dova was ||shor, since shors only ever been known to leave his throne to go possess one of the living||
The spirits in Sovengarde indicate that Shor has stepped out, as his presence is inherently dangerous to living mortals.
Well, Tiber Septim mantled Shor, thus becoming Talos the ninth divine. Maybe that's why he's not in Sovngard?
he chillin in Aetherius
Todd Howard hinted that we may not see Elder Scrolls 6 release until 2026 at the earliest
But that's too optimistic. I say we will see elder scrolls 6 at 2028, but full of bugs like skyrim. So elder scrolls gold age will probably be around 2030 🥲
That gif is way too fast. All I can make out of it is “Yap yap, blah blah, dribble dribble dribble in Daggerfall!”
Morrowind best main theme
Best Main theme that it got rearranged into the series going forward.
Sorry to butt in, I just feel like sharing my perspective. NOT trying to be rude by saying this, but BGS is not OBLIGATED to deliver a game to us within a certain time frame (unless you fund a kickstarter or something, idk). Us buying the game just means we have the right to expect it to be good quality. Not trying to make anyone upset, just trying to share viewpoints 🙂
Tiber Septim MAY have Mantled Lorkhan, who is a more complete version of Shor. Or, he may have simply been granted godhood by the rest of the Divines. The actual nature of Talia's Divinity isn't entirely clear.
Sure, bethesda doesn't own anyone anything, they could stop making games tomorrow and they don't own anyone an explanation (other than the investors as you said). Still, that's not quite the point here, just sharing our opinions as to what would be better to prioritize (as a player-consumer pov of course).
Well yea, nothing is really said explicitely in lore, but we can build theories up with some hints the games/books/dialogues throws at us. In any case, Tiber Septim is the GOAT 💪
Greatest of all Tyrants, maybe.
If by tyrant you mean bringing a golden age to all of Tamriel thanks to unifying it under a single Empire. Then i guess so lol
Yeah... It wasn't a Golden Age though. That's simply Imperial Propaganda. Neverminding that Golden Ages aren't even a thing, the Septim Empire was near constant civil war, revolts and internal strife.
I mean, hell... The Medes had almost as many years of peace as the Septims did, in less than half the reign
You seriously not comparing the Mede dynasty with the Septim Empire
Oh, yes. I am. Because both are pretty trash.
And I say that as a Empire supporter who thinks the Stormcloak are a waste of script
Septim Empire is a million times better than the Mede Dynasty. You get bombarded by this statement all over Skyrim saying "This Empire is just a shadow of the former", and yeah Stormcloaks are just a sideshow
I have not heard a single argument nor any proof as to how would an independent Skyrim survive
Skyrim can't even grow tomatoes, if you try you can't. And this is because in lore, tomatoes come from imports from Cyrodill, since Skyrim can't grow anything really, the only hold that can grow actual decent crops is Whiterun, one out of nine holds isnt enough to feed an entire Skyrim. Skyrim needs the Empire's international business and routes, just like the East Empire Company in solitude.
Without mentioning how, in the extraordinary case (meaning that it's highly unlikely) that Ulfric wins, he'll have less than a half of soldiers to defend Skyrim from external attacks, e.g: The Empire reclaiming Skyrim from Cyrodill's borders AND High Rock's borders. Or the Aldmeri Dominion launching an invasion.
Oh, don't get me wrong. The Stormcloaks are a joke.
Their entire political justification is shallow, and their revisionist view of their own traditions shows a fundamentally selective claim to historical legitimacy.
The Stormcloaks are a political, ethical, and ideological failure of a movement that is doomed to collapse under its own weight, the instant is populist leader either dies or slips up.
But the Septim Empire wasn't great either. It was near constant civil wars, revolts, and internal turmoil, barely held together by the Legions.
It's rulers were largely ineffectual, and prone to infirmity and mental instability. Which is an indication of inbreeding, normally... But based on what the Greybeards say about the fates of many other Dragonborn, it's possible this is a characteristic of the Dragonblood it's self. So the Septim family tree may be otherwise healthy, and not narrower than Hank Hill's urethra.
In the whole, the entire Septim dynasty is a slow spiral towards collapse, with only a few moments of stability under a handful of rulers. Arguably the best of which wasn't even a Septim. We're even told that, at the time of Uriel VIIs coronation, he was inheriting the strongest the Empire had been since Tiber Septim, and even then it was something of a decline from those days.
And of course, Uriel then pulled a hard Nero and ran THAT into the ground.
I still think it wouldn’t be wise to ignore the overall larger issue at hand, nobody doubts they will be good games, but what happens when Bethesda decides to make another new Franchise after Starfield? Eventually that just ends up being a 20 Year wait for another entry into one of the franchises.
Unfortunately my opinions on the matter were deleted, but I guess it just wasn’t appropriate enough for the channel at hand. I don’t want the devs to stretch themselves thin and not be able to deliver but there imo needs to be some type of more efficient change.
I just came up with an idea XD
So, if (hopefully when) we get a game set in Black Marsh... you all know how, as of late, we've been getting at least one DLC per-game featuring a realm of Oblivion? What if, assuming the Argonian's countering the Oblivion Crisis stories are true, that DLC is about bringing home the Argonians that were raiding Oblivion and got trapped there when the gates closed?
I think they know that they're pushing their size and number of franchises.
You could spin a really good story about that.
Imagine a story of the separated Argonians finding their way back, and angry at the Hist who sent them to die in Oblivion
Exploring that whole event would also be a good way to really emphasise just how screwed up the Hist-Argonian relationship is.
Bethesda? I'm a game design major at university (graduating this winter!) And LOVE making stories. I'd love to work for you! (Although everything I said is true, I'm joking because I know I shouldn't get my hopes up)
Oh, I know what you mean. I'd work full time for Beth just writing, even at minimum wage. But I'm fully aware that's not a likely occurence.
Though if I'm being honest, I could extend that offer to GW, Ubisoft, 343, Blizzard...
Honestly I don't think any Argonians that were within the gates would've survived. As I don't see them actually surviving the Deadlands. Like sure I can see counter attacking because everyone tried it with level of success being unknown.
Some survived in Cold harbour, an equally hostile environment.
It's entirely possible anyone cut off would be seized and enslaved by the Dremora, for one reason or another. Or they managed to hide on the fringes of the Deadlands, since Princes aren't omniscient.
Or they could have escaped through other gateways into other planes.
Well given how the Deadlands is I don't think the Dagonites are one for slaves. New "material" sure but not slaves given how much flesh is used in the punished and the tower part with the sigil stone.
I just came up with an idea... I want to hear if any of you have your own version of "Absurd Trolley Problems" but set in the world of TES
hopefully I will be alive when the best game of all time tes6 comes out
starfield is cool but tes6 will be masterpiece

You either let the trolley go, and continue perpetuating suffering indefinitely as the Kalpa slowly rots.
Or you pull the lever and the Thalmor win, unmaking reality and freeing every trapped spirit and ending suffering forever, but every human has to be exterminated first.
New to Bethesda games and want to start playing elder Scrolls which one should i play first 😅
Depends... are you a casual gamer? In that case, Skyrim... Do you want the true, immersive, RPG experience? Morrowind is what I'd suggest. If you want to get the full scope, like me, I'd say Arena (be warned, the controls are outdated, but there are mods)
You can start off by playin Skyrim if you're worried about outdated graphics and want the newest Elder Scrolls rpg. If you want more lore i'd suggest start with Morrowind as it has LOTS of lore ( i think it's the game with most lore) and then make your way up to oblivion and finish with Skyrim. I wouldn't suggest Arena nor Daggerfall, unless you don't mind the very old controls and graphics, otherwise, I'd advice you just watch a youtube video that summarizes the lore story if you care about those things.
Daggerfall is better than Arena in basically every way. Though difficult to get into today.
Of the 5... Oblivion and Arena can be safely skipped, Morrowind and Daggerfall are IMO the best, but Skyrim is the most playable
But ironically, Dagerfall is the worst selling Elder Scrolls game of the saga
And the first in a... Not great time for Bethesda.
Daggerfall underperformed. Battlespire flopped. Redguard flopped.
Then Morrowind rolls in, and puts them on the map.
I wouldn’t recommend skipping Oblivion personally, as I feel it’s events are still to important to the events leading into Skyrim at large history wise.
I didn’t even like skipping Morrowind but I had to do to it’s age.
TES stories tend to be self contained in that you really can miss the others story wise and not have any issues
It’s not so much self contained that is the issue, but it also comes down to the fact that you’ll catch onto things if you played older games in a series, where something is referenced like The Side Quest regarding the Mythic Dawn in Skyrim with that Dark Elf.
Which is something only Oblivion Players would have immediately caught onto because they are part of the main quest in Oblivion.
thats good
Which to this day not being able to play Morrowind due to it’s age has robbed me of catching onto references regarding Morrowind in games after it and especially ESO where it’s given obvious references and attention towards.
If you can play a game and find it enjoyable then play it, but if you can’t get into it that’s alright, I just like to avoid telling people to skip a game cause of potential references to past games that may pop up, which imo rewards you in that instance for knowing your history. XD
I finished main skyrim questline like after playing for 400 hours lol
side quests were more intersting like war quests dark brotherhood that magic college thieves guild etc
thats really crazy how bethesda do this
That’s usually how it is with a lot of games for me, the Side Quests are my full attention and main quest is saved for last.
Elder Scrolls for me is so satisfying because while the stories are self contained they contain references to many individuals you may have met in past games.
expect these repeatitve go to dungeon and kill someone miniquests
Not a fan of Radiant questlines myself
The Elder Scrolls themselves are the Games in a meta sense, they look through all possibilities and the players are playing those possibilities.
I agree
they think about everything
cant even imagine tes6 in todays gaming when older games were ahead of time
skyrim is still more impresive than new games
Well that would be because Bethesda games are full of items and detail throughout the whole world.
There’s just a lot of things they do in general that many cannot replicate to the extent they do in Open World RPGS.
feel like only bethesda can make amazing open world game
most open world games are empty
boring and repeatitve
look ubisoft
I mean the Ubi Games are entertaining in there own right but they focus to much on collectibility in there games to make content at times, it’s always the quests themselves for the Ubi Games that are enjoyable.
Not only that but they tend to focus on “Being bigger is better” Which imo isn’t the right mindset to have.
Elden Ring is a huge game and while enjoyable, it get’s tiring to go through all at once.
This really applies more in the sense of Collectibles really.
I do like elden ring but idk
its one time experience
once you find everything there is nothing to do after
Yeah, which is odd to think about, it’s the one souls game that has a post game.
Usually it’s “Find everything and once you beat the boss that’s it.”
yeah I got everything I have all achievements
and thats it
I got all achievements in skyrim too but I still come back
I like Ubi Games still but imo they need to trim the fat off of there open world games and stop focusing on needing to be bigger to be considered better.
they ruined all their franchises because of this
far cry assasin creed
watch dogs rainbow six
old games from these seires were great
It’s not just that but they focus to much on similar formula’s, the whole “climb up high and view the world to see all colelctibles in a given area.”
They stuck to much to a formula and it’s why many people stopped bothering with them.
Only if your doing radiant stuff
They have a bunch of radiant quests outside side quests and main ones, I tend to avoid radiant ones for obvious reasons.
they are boring ofc
When I played the actual stuff it was fun.
Yeah, which is why I didn’t play them in Skyrim or Fallout 4, I dislike radiant quests.
there isnt that many there
it helps you only find new cave
but I avoid them
there is more better side quests
dont even need to worry tes6 will def have amazing side quests
The point is that Ubi Games are enjoyable side quest wise and main quests wise, after AC Origins it just got worse with needing to add more needless stuff
todd didnt lie when he said skyrim has infinitve quests
ac mirage could be good from what I heard
Well it’s cutting down on being a Super Massive Open world and won’t have microtransactions.
its promising
finally ubi
they decided to change boring formula
if only they didnt mess up with far cry 6
I’m still wondering what boring formula exactly?
massive empty open world game
I heard mirage wont be that big
and microtransactions they are so annoying
It won’t, the issue for AC was that it went to big and just led to needing to fill out the maps, microtransactions are a separate issue but my main concern is that bigger maps just led to needing to find someway to fill them out.
It’s why I keep saying I dislike the mentality of “Bigger is better.”
good bgs games arent like that
1000 Planets is just radiant stuff ultimately but that won’t make the crux of starfields appeal hopefully.
It’s the handcrafted stuff that has my attention
I dont think 1000 planets thing will make game bad
Nor do I ... But in that context I LIKE that sort of space exploration game
It sorta scratches the same itch as Minecraft or Astroneer.
Reminder that Elden Ring went big and while it was enjoyable it got exhausting.
In fact... Controversial opinion, but I absolutely loved the Mako and exploring planets in ME1
atlus platou was peak
we already know there will be planets with lot stuff to do in starfield
neon new atlantis akila city
cydonia
Handcrafted Ones are my only care honestly, btw Starfield Website got a lore dump today.
I think there's definitely room for both hand crafting and procedural generation in games, but different games require a different ballance.
A NASA-Punk space exploration game like Starfield is going to have a lot more room for large areas of procedural generation than a more localised Fantasy kingdom, for instance.
Ahem. Wrong uuuh... Wrong game there...
there will
didnt they confirm new atlantis is their biggest city ever they made
cant wait to see that
Wait what? Localized Fantasy Kingdom?
TES
"In Starfield, New Atlantis is the capital city of the United Colonies, found on the Starfield planet of Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system. Space exploration group Constellation is also based in New Atlantis. It is the largest city Bethesda has ever built for one of its games."
Trying to keep things circling back on topic, before the Mods do a purge. Ya know?
The Elder Scrolls VI: Elsweyr, I wish…
what would be difference
Ones are Kitty’s the others are men
Kitties are the best choice, yes. Buuut...
I wish I could travel there once
but hammerfell is bigger so they will obv make hammerfell
You'd basically corner the Furry market
Size is irrelevant when you're dealing with such heavily scaled areas.
nobody waiting 15 years for small map
I think I just grow tired of the avoidance of anything other than Human’s in Elder Scrolls, which was Oblivion, Skyrim, and if Hammerfell is next would be strike 3. XD
Even at the smallest, Skyrim is 1:40,000 or something.
At its largest size estimate (about the size of Kazakhstan) it's about 1:430,000
we need kittens
The only real Elf Centered Province so far was Morrowind, and that wasn’t even all of Morrowind.
furry country
I think there's an internal concern regarding non-human provinces, by and large...
I feel like they will rather make hammerfell
maybe The Elder Scrolls VII: Elsweyr in 30 years
For one, they've invested a lot of narrative effort in the 'Elves are the bad guys' thing.
This still depends on the length of time between V and VI
For another, they've doubled down on simplistic cultural depictions for Human territories, which make for easier cultural tropes, but they probably couldn't few away with that elsewhere.
No as in in Game History time
And for three... Non-Human provinces are geographically the most diverse, distinct and strange.
Like the year is 4E Year 201
Hammerfell is the most 'strange' human province, so they may use it to try and test the waters of going weird again.
I mean… I think there being more hate of Elves after The Great War was bound to happen.
And it goes out of its way to make that racism justified.
Literally making the most prevelent Elven group in the game into the SS
I sided with emperial for this
I mean we already got Spiritual Sword Shown off in ESO with Sai Sahan.
I think Hammerfell COULD be a really interesting setting, with really interesting stories.
And it could serve as a good backdrop for increasing tensions with the Dominion, rather than having to jump right into resolving that.
who lives in hammerfell
Because a Cold War is a far more interesting geopolitical backdrop than just resolving it off screen.
skyrim belongs to nords!!! I was nord and sided with emerial
The Redguard mostly. Also some Orcs, Goblins, Harpies, Imperials near the border... I believe there are some Lamia clans along the coast as well.
It's dominant population is the Redguard though. Which... Brings with it it's own problems these days.
tes6 will probably be my most anpiaced game of all time
Nah
anticipated
Half-Life 3
I said that... And then Alyx came out.
half life 3 portal 3 team fortres 3 left 4 dead 3
Literally getting them out of the corner they wrote themselves into.
Well it is the location the Legions sent to Hammerfell where they actually beat the Dominion back.
cs2 now exists so no cs3
I wanna visit khajiits land
they are so funny
when they talk in 3rd person
Sort of. The legions were ultimately pulled out of Hammerfell, to fight in the Red Ring. General Decianus discharged some of the soldiers for 'injuries', and they served as the core of the local resistance army that pushed the Dominik back across the Alik'r
In public. They typically reserve first person interactions for family and intimate relationships..
they are good in pickpocekting, sneaking/stealh, agillity and they are drug dealers funniest race in series
Regardless it’s definitely the Night of Green something as well.
Yeah. There's a lot of tension to play off with the Dominion there. But the Empire isn't officially in Hammerfell either, so it's a way to play the geopolitixs without putting them directly against eachother.
I remember when khajiit tried to sell me skooma
Using Hammerfell as a proxy as each plays the political game in the nation.
and then attacked me after I didnt buy anything
Redguards are in the same camp as the Nords and Imperials these days with disliking the Dominion.
If there was an Elder Scrolls VII i wouldn’t mind if the Thalmor issue ended there
I'm more long term...
elder scrolls world is one of the greatest worlds ever fr and lore
I am to but I think with how long the wait has been, it’s so annoying that a storyline has yet to be resolved in the long term if you understand what I’m saying.
If put Hammerfell at VI, Elsweyr at VII, Valenwood at VIII, and Summerset (and the end of the Dominion) at IX
And then use Blackmarsh to set the stage for the new 'Arc' of the world's story.
Arena to Oblivion was about the Decline of The 3rd Empire.
I through IV were about the fall of the Septim Dynasty. V through IX would be the rise and fall of the Dominion.
Have you seen those warriors from Hammerfell? They have curved swords
Yes I see them in ESO all the time. XD
we wont be alive when VII comes out
I'd end TES IX with the dissolution of the Empire as well, and the establishment of a Republic.
That may be the target. But I think 27 or 28 is more likely
If the Empire does end, because when you think an Empire is over, it’s never truly over.
That's why I say a transition.
skyrim guards are so suprised warriors from hammerfell got curved swords
will we find out who won in civil war in VI
So there's some sense of political continuity, but enough reforms that what comes out the other side is more 'Empire in name Only'
Most likely, it will be left ambiguous until such a time as it no longer matters
when they say in VI You see those guards from Skyrim? They’ve got straight swords
Ulfric is stupid
no way he won
The Empire has always felt Pro Imperial and Humans as a whole so I can see how it would eventually just be replaced.
maybe warriors will talk about civil war
in VI
so what they will just kick all elves khajiits
Btw yeah I agree that Redguards are definitely the weirdest bunch when it comes to humans.
Mostly because, while they probably have the same ultimate origins, they developed independent from the Atmoran cousins for literally thousands of years.
Imperials, Bretons, Nords, Nedes... All other Human groups we've seen come from Atmoran cultural descent. Except the Redguard.
and VI is todds last tes game😢
