Well based on Bethesdas own letter of last year there should be a next gen version of fallout 4 with bug fixes and such, if there are any engine updates/optimizations from fallout 4s engine i hope they hand that to obsidian or just hand over creation engine 2 starfield is using.

Obsidian cost themselves that talent, not Bethesda. Obsidian's CEO Fergus Urquhart has gone on interviews multiple times and admitted that they completely neglected QA in the leadup to release in favor of trying to cram in a lot more content. Meaning they overscoped a lot and were probably relying on getting an extension on their dev time (Which they've relied on multiple times in the past like with KOTOR 2 for instance)

while some mechanics are neat its burried on systems that are meant to be grindy, meant for you to engage and even the new content, like you think wastelanders would do you a favor bringing npcs and dialog, but no.... not really... in fact compared from the empty atmosphere story telling which was actually kinda good. replacing all of it with npcs to expidite hides alot of that

To say Starfield is an improvement is more problem with the multiple planet thing they have, simply because with Past Bethesda games you had the one Giant Map all with detailed hand crafted locations.

Starfield’s locations are all spread out and ends up becoming few and far between because they expect the player to go exploring the different systems.

It's more than likely that the Minuteman ending is the canon ending for 4. It's the path they direct you towards immediately and generally push for.
And with that ending i don't believe the Brotherhood is actually killed unless you choose to after the ending(I might be wrong, i haven't played the game to completion in years)

That's generally my stance and you're totally correct, you can do the Minutemen ending without fighting the Brotherhood or Railroad. There's even special postgame dialogue with Quinlan where, if you've joined the Brotherhood, he congratulates you on your "unconventional strategy" of using a local militia to "take the hits" for the Brotherhood 😂

And the Legion is just a pure microcosm of suffering and human cruelty whose only highly debatable saving graces are "but safe roads though" and "but glorious leader misquotes philosophy and says its for the greater good though"

So House's bunker under the Fort can be blown up while still working for Yes Man (though he will be straining to think of why you doing that is in any way a good thing for your plans)

But the important part, which they don't make super clear, is that you can also just activate the bunker as House / Yes Man wants you to, and the resulting tremors from all the machinery coming to life are enough to convince Caesar that you did, in fact, blow it up as he ordered you to 😂

The Legion’s best strength is how secure and stable it is. It’s unmatched in its cruelty but that causes deterrence for any criminality. The NCR unlike Legion is so stretched, disorganized, and inexperienced that NCR can’t solve huge problems that they are dealing with.

The average Legionary vs. the average NCR soldier results in a Legionary victory. This is because the Legionary is highly drilled while the NCR has a week of experience before being sent to the Mojave.

So for the beginning of my first portion of the “game/story” I want to replicate a type of “simulation”. I’m just wondering if a simulation type event would be lore acceptable in the fallout world?

Where there are a lot of dark themes in the story that I want to create. Questioning who’s the main protagonist. And questioning whether the person you are playing is good or bad. You can’t really tell, and near the end with the decisions that you’ve made along your journey you will either be glad or f@@ing shocked in what you just did. Becuase the choices in my story that you make will neither be good nor bad but it will change the story near the end deeply or just hopefully as the way you want it to be.

I’m trying to follow what the original developers of fallout wanted to do for fallout 3 before it was bought by Bethesda. I'm having an issue with new vegas, and I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. I'm using the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT and New Vegas is having severe performance issues

As in dropping to 20 FPS when I even look in the direction of New Vegas and even causing crashes, does anyone know a fix to this?

I also had ridiculous issues with Starfield because I use AMD instead of Nvidia but I was able to fix those at least. I don't have any issues running Fallout 4.

Most gun designs in Fallout 4 (and in every Fallout really) are horrific abominations of mangled junk barely holding together with ductape and wonderglue
The problem in Fallout 4 & 76 is that they are incredibly cartoonish compared to the originals, 3, & NV (Not to say they don't have ugly guns).

Well, more like procedural in whenever you start a new game, the wasteland has a different layout and the npcs would adapt to that change like for example, if one faction is closer to water, and the other faction is not, then some conflict would arise, etc. the factions would be the same each playthrough but you get a new wasteland each time.

There could be random stuff that happens in the wasteland, but they would happen dependent on the world that they are in

It’s a cool idea sure, but it doesn’t fit into it. I think the reason why it worked with Daggerfall is that Daggerfall was an early game in the Skyrim series. They could build off of that. Fallout 5 is the next game in the line of what is it…7 games? It just wouldn’t make sense

There is your problem Steams version of the game rather then G.O.G's version of it.. I say this as many people myself included have had trouble with Steams version of Fallout games up tillfallout 4 in terms of unable to launch or crashing moments after launching.. In my playthrough, nothing came of that treaty. When player told the boss, Colonel Cassandra Moore, about the treaty offer from the BOS side, the Colonel blew it off. You can join either faction by doing good works for them. I liked working with Veronica when dealing with BOS. There's always different approaches to playing. I joined both sides, but only the NCR side amounted to anything. That said, I recall nothing about a number you ask about.

Which is why hiring VA to do the main character’s voice is a bad idea because sometimes they don’t sound like they have the spirit. I am no professional va but as an abid watcher of cinema, musicals, online videos, and my own acting experience, they don’t sound very good.

Although that could also be because they got some of the worst dialogue in the entire series and 2/4ths of that dialogue is “can you repeat?” or “[insert quippy one-liner]”. Also I haven’t played the game again in months, probably the best dialogue and va is during the Silver Shroud quest which is really good.

Definitely NCR, Mr House is an authoritarian who claims he has no grievances but actually does, the human rights of the people are severed to support an authoritarian, a major classist who has minimum interest in supporting the slums (just enough to keep them from revolt), and anyone who gets in his way politically is deserving of execution. Mr House has no care what people do with their personal lives but if their lives are seen to be against the interests of him, he will exterminate that group.

Mr House’s isolation and treaties with the three families means he cannot monitor the habits of the elite. The same elites that are trying to undermine Mr House: the Omertas want to takeover the Strip, the White Gloves are violating their treaty, Benny is trying to also takeover the Strip. Greed, maybe, but they also may hate Mr House for imposing his jurisdiction through gunpoint and erasing their culture.

Despite what I say, I think Mr. House is the best faction if you're looking for the safe gamble, not moral but best.

The NCR may never reform and it has been demonstrated to be too big to fully occupy the Mojave, it also isn't entirely moral and will use it's means to gain what it wants. Although if you agree that human rights and liberalism is moral, then NCR is definitely the most moral.

Hey all, just thought I would share this here.
2 years ago I lost my mum to cancer and I went into an extreme depression.
It got to the point where I didn’t know where to turn too.
For some reason, I looked over to my desk where I saw my disk for fallout 4. I started up a new game and I sat there for hours and I completed it. For those few hours it took my mind off everything that had happened and then I realised that I hadn’t completed fallout new vegas. So for the next week, I spent my time playing between fallout 4 and fallout new vegas. If it wasn’t for those fallout games distracting me from what had happened, then I don’t know how long it would have taken me to get out of this depression.
I then realised that I had a heavy metal concert lined up a few months later, but due to covid, it was cancelled.
But in the months that followed I was able to complete the different factions and side quests, while listening to one of my favourite heavy metal bands and it really helped me to cope with everything. So for Christmas, my dad bought me an hour sitting with my tattoo artist and I got these done to remind me that dark times will pass and that there is always something to look forwards too.
So, thank you for reading my little statement and here’s to a happy and healthy new year 💚

No doubt, the Enclave is very powerful and definitely capable of this. It's just a shame that Bethesda defaults them as the bad guys in every game.

Despite this idea, although being questionable, in the wasteland wouldn't be as bad as many people would think it is.

There are flaws but the upsides outweigh the downsides. Hell even in Fallout 1 the Brotherhood can degrade into extremely questionable morality with their techno-religious ideals.

They tried to kill everyone on Earth in Fallout 2, it's not a Bethesda problem - It's what the Enclave have always been. Bethesda actually gives them far more credit than Black Isle ever did. Even in New Vegas, they're the equivalent of Germans fleeing to South America to escape punishment for what they did during WW2.

This is very normal for New Vegas, it's the loading screen glitch. The best way to circumvent it is to keep rebooting the game and maybe deleting saves.

is there a rule of thumb to determine terminal read order? I've noticed that sometimes, the entries are newest at the top and oldest at the bottom, while other terminals are the opposite.
