I really don't want to do a full uninstall/install again but maybe I have to.
If you back up the largest vanilla game data files from the data folder, then nuke the contents of the data folder, and move the files back you can then verify cache to restore the data folder to a vanilla state and avoid much of the download process. The files being things like "Skyrim - Meshes0.bsa" that are over a gigabyte each, etc.
Since presumably you wouldn't have modified those files the CRC check Steam does should tell it to skip redownloading those files.

I got a simple mod request for for anyone who's willing to spare the time... I'm looking for a mod that gives an Armor Rating to the Saturalia Outfit from the "Saturalia Holiday Pack". Make it have the same Armor Rating as vanilla Scaled Armor, and make it fully-temperable up to Legendary quality with the Advanced Armors perk. Hrm. Well, the mod is done, but it seems bethnet is still having issues with uploads not working right. If it doesn't download then you may be stuck waiting until the site glitches are resolved. 
Has anyone here ever used the "People are Strangers" mod in a legit playthrough yet? Does it fit in well ? Alot of quests involve finding and talking to npcs so I was curious if it was immersive or just tedious

There's a problem... the mod appears on Bethesda.net, and I was able to add it to my Favorites and Library, but it's not actually appearing in-game for me to download.
Like I said, the website is having glitches with uploads currently.
Until they resolve it there's nothing I can do.
Do you think you could try re-uploading? Every mod that's been uploaded in the last hour for Xbox is appearing in-game except this one.
Is there any workarounds yet to get the CK installed through steam, I can't seem to find it on the Bethesda launcher and I only ever launched SSE from steam
There should be an expandable sidebar menu in the Beth launcher, it should still be available there. It then needs to be put into SE's main folder if it doesn't add it in automatically.
It's still not appearing in-game for me. Could you please try re-uploading? I hate to nag you, but it doesn't look like it's going to appear in-game anytime soon...

Nah I removed the dirt from his face, made his complexion older, gave him some real armor worthy of a hunter, some slightly better dagger and bow with stamina draining effects, and I shaved his grey ponytail and replaced it with a custom bald head texture. Maybe I'll upload it and then make a nice Ghorbash.

For some reason, the version of the populated mods I'm using doesn't allow me to hire them. It's supposed to, but they never have the dialog.
I do sometimes use AFT to make them followers though.
I once made the poor servant of Skald the Elder a follower, so he could have his day in the sun. Didn't work out. He ran away from every fight.

And when they inevitably die I feel sad.
But their deaths bring me immersion.

Spending time tweaking lighting for this made me hope that Starfield's editor (or Elder Scrolls 6's) comes with better built-in color grading options for worldspaces and interior cells. That would definitely give modders far more control over contrast/gamma/gain/etc. covering highlights, midtones, shadows and so on per each in-game location even without mods. Maybe filmic tonemappers, wider dynamic range for more accurate colors. That sounds like a level design modder's dream.

Ok I need some help clarify things here because I'm a bit confused on the enchantment of this weapon. For anyone who uses LotD and have the CC Staff of Hasedoki Patch with the LotD CC Patch Hub installed, to those who have or use the "Trident of the Cairn", what exactly does it do again? Based on its description it says it deals "soul damage", so going into the CK and looking up the enchantment, from what I can understand, the higher quality the enemy's soul is i.e. a Grand Soul leveled enemy, the more damage the weapon does. The catch being that it can't do jack in the Soul Cairn, and neither can it do anything against Daedra or corporeal undead?
Am I right with that?
Do followers sleep when they are dismissed using the "dismiss but hang out here" feature of Amazing Follower Tweaks?
It allows the player to dismiss followers anywhere and lets them sandbox with the items there, but I haven't seen one sleep using this command yet.
Apparently NOT, you can't even get a follower to stay seated when asked to sit down, I personally think they should remain asleep until you wake them or ask them to follow, it would also be nice IF when you ask them to sleep it also means this is your home now.

No, the mods button did not change, it disappeared on you, the addons menu has always been there.
To remove the mod, if it came from Bethesda.net , and by extension the mods menu, then you need to go to here to unsubscribe them, https://bethesda.net/mods/skyrim
If elsewhere you need to delete the files you added manually.

hmmm not sure what to do but when i had downloaded the creation kit for skyrim se b/c that is what is up in steam or at least i think it works with se and not oldrim.....anyways i have SE installed with mods from CC and mods from bethesda.net and oldrim is uninstalled but the creation kit gets installed under the oldrim folder system am i doing something wrong?
i also can not type messages in the other Bethesda discord channel do to phone number issues wich im going to over look for now

@shadow gull I believe the wrong creation kit was up loaded to steam when it comes to Skyrim steam only has the 32bit creation kit not the 64bit.
The Steam CK is for the original version of Skyrim. I believe they're yet to put the BL one up.

Already posted this in the wrong channel (#skyrim-chat) but I was wondering if there's any way to fix the "Mods" tab not showing up. I've tried every way listed online, and some of my own troubleshooting. I've reinstalled the game multiple times.
This started happening after I purchased the Anniversary Edition upgrade for the quests. 200GB worth of mods, shaders, etc. just disappeared (completely removed from my drive), and I don't see any mods in the mods tab you see while in-game.

@tall hinge Are you aware of a bug on PS4 Survival Mode where vampires can catch certain diseases?
That's a vanilla game bug, not an issue with survival. The only fix that's available is on PC/XB1 because it needs to alter scripts to prevent it.
But I only ever catch diseases added by Bethesda survival mode.
If I turn off Survival Mode I have regular immunity again
I just looked on the elder scrolls pages and it says that vampires and werewolves will be immune to all diseases except the ones I added by creation club. But it doesn’t say whether it’s a glitch or intended
I might be thinking of something else that required script edits then.

Any console users here that use the Skyrim at War mod ? It's been causing some freezing issues for me so I'm trying to decide which patch outta the "Remove Small/Medium/Large Partols" patches to download. I'm leaning towards remove large patrols but I like the overall feel the mod brings and don't wanna change it much

so im still having problems with my skyrim i keep having red boxes pop up with no indentation of whats causing it i even uninstalled all of my mods and restored it to base skyrim and yet its still making the red boxes like its an texure missing so any idea?
Sounds like an editor marker. But without mods that is odd.
Chances are high they didn't uninstall properly and have loose files.
At that point it'd be easier to just nuke the install completely and start over fresh.
Ideally with a good mod manager such as MO2, assuming they're on PC.

he asked where he could get ussep earlier so he uses it and there is a bug patch to fix it so its somthing he should check

ive seen people say that (i dont use ussep so im not sure) but maybe he is using a older version or they didnt fix all the bugs its worth checking

There is no need to check. I already know that all of the colored square issues the USSEP had have been resolved. Some other mod is causing the problem the other guy is reporting.
As for the village, merging is a good way to break things as you've found out. Don't do that. It can't properly handle landscape and navmesh edits.
all the other villages and other merges didnt have the same issue with land missing so i thought i would ask you while i was talking too you as for the other guy it wont take long too test

you could try uninstall and reinstall but do you have a list of your mods
reinstall if you have your mods list ready it could be a broken mod so dont download them all at once so you can try and find it

make a folder on your desktop or somewhere and place your mods in it (not all esm should be removed keep the vanilla files)
also go to the tab above data and remove your mods folder aswell

it didnt get all the files one of them might be causing the problem
drag them to the folder on your desktop then reinstall skyrim
get the files in the folder above where you clicked on data

As alot of you know, the Anniversary update broke alot of mods, and I'm just wondering why did this happen? I've started playing the game on PS4 again recently (after I lost a prior save) and a third person fix I used no longer works. Is it something to do with the .dll files, and would a simple fix be necessary (I don't want to pester anyone, I'm just wondering if it's possible)? This is the mod I'm having trouble with in question:

Haven’t run into any problems on Xbox. And on PC it only “broke” mods that require SKSE temporarily.
Have you tested your mod all by itself on a new game to make sure you don’t possibly have a mod conflict?
I haven't run into any problems either. With one lone exception, even my mods that required SKSE worked fine without needing updates.
all this breaking that's been happening on PC can't happen on consoles, as there is no script extender for them

But for about the first month or so I didn’t use mods after the update. But have for a while now.
mine is a series x but ive seen people with series s who have it
@tight hull the only systemic problem I have had since the update is FPS issues. It more noticeable now that they took away the FPS boost as an option. Pre update I didn’t use FPS boost and had solid 30 FPS. Now it varies from 30-60 which is worse to see it change as you play.
hopefully they release a update for the fps,the main issue for me since update is lag and freezing on the main menu and mod store alot of the time its unplayable ive started making f4 mods because of it

I just started playing and was wondering what mods people recommend to make the game look a bit nicer/more detailed
I use obsidian weathers, ELFX and noble skyrim on mine
I use Vivid Weathers
And I loves it
As well as SMIM and ELFX like they said but there's also a cool one called High Poly Project
But the best way is to use something like Mod Organizer 2 and select which particular mods you want to overtake other mods because sometimes they overwrite each other and some things are better than others between them but some aren't as good depending on the mod.
Oh and also JS's Shrines / Dragon Claws is really nice. Specific changes but very nice ones.
In most games I use Cathedral Weathers and Cathedral Landscapes.

LotD does that right? That is on Xbox recently. But I think that feature requires SKSE which doesn’t work on Xbox.

Any SKSE functions present in the mod will simply fail. That failure would be likely to cause unwanted behavior in any mod where those functions are called.
Thanks for the information on that. Kinda sucks but I'll live. Last question. Would something in my LO cause my game to stop if it's in the wrong spot. Get annoying when I'm exploring and my game freezes and I gotta start it up over and over. I got the unofficial patch and done a hard reset
It's not out of the question if you happen to have mods with deleted navmeshes in them that other mods are trying to modify.

I use the mod Origins of Forest Darker & Less Saturated on Xbox One S and I have no problems with it other than this one location which is at the sleeping giant inn in riverwood. For some reason it comes up through the front porch of the inn. Is there a fix for this without having to shorten them or making them less thick?

I create a test cell to test new NPCs and I had just created the 3rd NPC and got a strange missing master error in MO2. It told me the name of the missing master was � H, the box was some sort of strange hanging dot that no program will recreate. I looked this up and it seem to be some sort of math function.
I made sure all the masters were properly installed and then got worried I had a worm or virus so I also deleted the plugin.
I then started building the plugin again starting with a test cell an found out that farm cellar walls were missing in CK, which I'm guessing were the missing masters. Almost all those walls were gone in CK, there were only 4 or 6 remaining.
I reinstalled CK and everything seems OK now, but I'm concerned about how & why those walls got deleted in the first place.
Is there any way at this point to track down the problem that caused the walls to go missing?

I reinstalled so I can't be for sure if they were mesh or something else, but CK & MO2 no longer seeing them.

Most recently I downloaded a CK Fix from Nexus. I was also in a modder group here on Discord and downloaded some other CK Fixes from a modder. I went to delete the ones I got from the modder but they're no longer there
I got the one from Nexus so I can open multiple master files since CK is seeing some of the hair mods as masters instead of plugins
the nexus file is ok (if im thinking of the right file) what was the name of the person who gave you the file on discord and the name of the mod
It wasn't a mod, it was 4 files. I still have them in my download folder, I can post them here if that's OK. I don't remember the name of the modder, I think it might have been Jfresh401

you should get permission from a modderator before sharing them

there shouldnt be dll files in a ck fix (unless you are using skse)
The one from the Nexus was a CK fix. The modder told me it was the same fix with a few extra lines to fix more stuff

I either put them in my Skyrim Special Edition or my Data folder, but I can't find them now to delete them. I'm trying to find the overwrite file to look there.
I don't see anything that looked unusual or matched those names in the overwrite file. I'm checking my MO2 files now
try searching your drives to see if you can find them and use your anti virus software
I'll try, but my computer search doesn't like searching my game folders for some reason, not sure why

I googled the names for all 4 files. The skyrim64_test.ini is the name of the one from Nexus, and I put it in there after the other one even though I can't find it, it hopefully overwrote the other one.
The other 3 by themselves look harmless unless he wrote something into them.

if your tbbmalloc is broken it could be a virus try a system restore
I just went to my control panel and I'm a little lost with all the different option. But if my virus programs don't find anything I'll figure that out and do it. How would I check to see if my tbbmalloc is broken?
winhttp.dll was the only one my system found, it's in my Win32 folder. The other 3 it only found in my download folder.

Last time it was modified was weeks before I put that file in my skyrim folder, so I think I'm safe there
Anyway, I'm going to wait till the virus detection programs are done before doing anything drastic. Hopefully they'll find and fix anything that's wrong
you should also have tbbmalloc (to check you have it update your drivers)

Is anyone that's good with LO take a look at mine. Tried making adjustments but my game still crashes
OK, so first I ran AVG and it didn't find anything. Then I ran Adawar with AVG running in the background and AVG found 5 instances of Win32:Rootkit-gen [Rtk] so far while running in the background. (Adaware is almost done)
Knowing how virus programs sometimes don't get along, AVG may have just seen something that Adaware was doing and mistook it as a virus, but I like to be safe.
All 5 instances were in my windows temp folder
I did some reading up and read several places that this trojan can infect previous restore points which can reinfect the system.
So 3 questions
- Is there a virus program that you would suggest
- Is this something that would cause a wall in CK to delete itself (From what I read it doesn't seem like it)
- Do you think I sould delete my previous restore points?
I also double checked my quarantine folder and there are instances of this in quarantine in AVG going back 3 years. The program wasn't notifying me for some reason. So I really don't think this is the cause of my most recent problems
I'll still start the computer in safemode since it's a trojan and try to clean it from there. Do you think AVG & Adaware are enough to get the job done?
i couldnt recommend one virus remover over the other somtimes one will find it and another wont (although you should use them),i havent used avg so i dont know how good it is,you can try and fix yourself but you could be missing some system files (tbbmalloc) so it might of already caused damage

I just tried killing it myself. This is a trojan though, and I dealt with one years ago and remember having to go into safe mode to clean it all out

the virus program should have them in there already but it could be other places aswell to get your missing dll update drivers
I know, the mod "Artefakes" changed or by its description replaced the sword with a 2H version and is retrievable via the Aetherium Forge through platforming or simply through console commands. When I got the sword I noticed that the face of the blade was pitch black. At first I thought it was just the lighting so I went somewhere else. Looked at it again and the face was still black.

OK, so I'll start up in safe mode, run the anti-viruse programs, delete the files in AVG's temp folder, then reboot and update drivers. Sounds good.
One more question if it's OK. This morning I created a new test cell. Then I created a quick NPC. Then I opened both with the NPC as the active file, put it in the test cell and saved - trying to keep them as separate files. When I went in game and COC'd in I was in a black void free falling with the NPC. When I checked it in CK the NPC's file create a copy of the test cell but that copy was empty, nothing in it at all, which is why I was freefalling in a void. Is this normal?

Before I go, is it normal for a NPC file to duplicate a Test Cell file in CK, or might that be a result of the problem I'm having?
if i was testing a npc i would just put them into the world not a test cell
Test cell is safer. I accidentally moved something in the skyrim world when placing an NPC more than once. It'a hard to get use to using space bar & shift when I'm use to using left & right click

Well if you're not releasing it, then it's not an option for me. lol, so when creating a test cell, can I make the NPCs as a separate plugin, then load both with the NPC as the active and place them in the test cell. Or will the NPC's file create a duplicate of the test cell when I do that?

why are you making the npc and test file on seprate files also i think vanilla has a test cell use that also if you want to it the way you are describing it could be done but it would be easier to do it in the one file
Well, this current problem started as a weird missing master problem where I was told the missing master was "� H" (the empty box is some sort of hanging dot that nothing will duplicate when I copy/paste)
I ended up deleting the whole plugin before realizing the missing master was a missing wall in the test cell

I never save. One time I had a high poly head I was trying to make overwritten when I advanced time to day time (in the skyrim world) and the high poly got overwritten. Another reason I like a test cell, it's never night time

When I advanced time it auto-saved. A modder told me that's when the high poly got overwritten. I didn't understand it all myself, but I went from a high poly head with the mouth floating above the head to a vanilla head.

I had to download another anti-virus because AVG wouldn't work in safemode. Malware Bytes & Adaware didn't find anything. I used Disk Cleanup to get rid of all files that I could but I didn't touch the AVG files because I couldn't find a temp folder and the other folders have needed files, so I left them alone. I updated my device drivers and I now have winhttp.dll back. I didn't get tbbmalloc.dll or tbb.dll back but after researching some more I'm not sure I'm supposed to have tbbmalloc.dll in windows. So I'm going to see how this does and if I have any more problems I'm probably going to do a system restore. I noticed the option for it had the option to keep personal files.

I appreciate the help, I'm just not sure I need tbbmalloc. From what I read it works with tbb, so I would also need to get tbb. I found a place to tell me where it should be found https://www.freefixer.com/library/file/tbbmalloc.dll-125720/ but I don't have the "pfhldcakmgpmglboaclpfdedehjblalp" folder. I guess downloading Google Chrome again to try to get it back wouldn't hurt, so I'll try that. Beyond that, if it's not causing problems, I'm not even really sure that MSI didn't replace it with something else for their gaming computer

I reloaded google chrome but still don't have that folder. I don't really know what else to try to get those 2 dll programs back
I did some more research and found out that the tbb.dll was developed by Intel for parallel programming on multi-core processors. So I wrote MSI tech support to ask if they may have developed something else to do the same job and replaced tbb. If they tell me they haven't I'll look into a source to redownload them

I'm having a lot of trouble getting the mannequins "dressed" in the Bethesda version of Frostspire tower for Xbox one. They ignore everything I try to add, with the exception of shields. I've always had trouble with mannequins, but these seem particularly bad about it. Are there any new mods for mannequins that solves this problem?
If they aren’t working, double check on the nexus for bug reports. Fixing a broken mod with another mod only seems to serve as wasting space.
eh, true, but they've never worked well, so I guess I'm sol. That's why I was hoping someone had come up with better mannequins or a fix. Originally I was hoping (and still am) to get with the mod author about the mannequins. As I said before, the version in Frostspire Twoer are particularly intractible.
Mannequins have AI and must be set up properly. Something as simple as forgetting a checkbox can cause them not to work properly and someone else will have to let you know if there’s a limitation on how many can actually be in a cell. The devs only used so many in their player houses. Armor displays are better in FO4. 😄
I don’t use player homes since most have too many displays. YMMV.
I suppose I could add a thing to debug menu to fix a mannequin. 
Just curious, since I can fully equip a mannequin and have it not show a thing, is it possible the items are "under" the mannequin surface? In the Frostspire Tower, there are also some "captured mages", active NPC's (which I know mannequins are just inactive NPC's), anyway, I had no trouble at all dressing the mages. Since it seems like the appearance of a mannequin is just a surface overlaid on an NPC, is it possible the clothes end up sort of underneath, instead of "on top" of that overlay? Just spitballing here; I'm not a modder.

The look of a mannequin is not an overlay as such - it's the actual skin assigned to it in its race data:
I'm inclined to think it may be a problem with the mannequin's script (had a glance at it, it's a bit of a mess), and/or an equipment slot conflict or settings problem.
Normally if something doesn’t show on a mannequin it’s the armor itself not having the mannequin race set to use it. Have you tried vanilla armors?

on a mostly unrelated train of thought, the thing about mannequins sometimes moving when they aren't supposed to due to AI shenanigans has me thinking about creating a Weeping Angels (from Doctor Who) style mod. In theory it should be possible to make it so the NPCs can only move/etc when you're not looking at them. 
I've seen several mods to fix that (unsuccessfully).

Hey, there I was wondering if anyone with modding experience could help me? I recently downloaded Whiterun Expansion Redone for the PS4/PS5 and it’s such an amazing mod but annoyingly it’s incompatible with the Tundra Homestead CC (the northern stables clip into the homestead stables and it affects the landscape so the stairs to the homestead are off the ground) I’m not sure if the author who ported it over is still active but if possible a patch for this would be amazing!

it's not really incompatible with AE, you can always disable creations individually
Tbh I didn't know you can disable CC since it doesn't give you the option 🤷♀️ but it's incompatible with Tundra Homestead like how TGC of Solitude is incompatible with the Fishing CC and Quaint Raven Rock is incompatible with Ghosts of The Tribunal CC however people have made patches to make them compatible
You just disable the esp in your mod manager to remove the CC from your game.
But I play on a PS5 not on a PC so how would that work? 😅

On Xbox you can avoid downloading all the AE content by clearing reserve space. Then start the game but just ignore the download AE option that pops up and quit the game. Then when you restart the game it won’t force the download option on you. You can just go into creation club and download what you want. Hopefully PS has a clear reserve space equivalent. Not sure.
I’ll have a look and see if I can disable it but nevertheless Whiterun Expansion Redone does need a Tundra Homestead CC patch, from what I saw on Nexus the original author of the PC version has given everyone free permission to do what they want with the mod, if I was a modder I would make the patch myself but I'm not hence why I mentioned it here to give the mod feedback (again I don't know if the author who ported it over to PS is still active but since comments on Bethesda.net are gone now this is the only place to give feedback)
On PlayStation, there is no reserve space. You must delete and reinstall the game and then re download the creations you’d like to use. The four freebies stay with the base game.
I’ve been putting off purchasing the AE for PS5. I’ve already purchased it twice - Xbox and PC. I don’t like playing on PS5, but I’m trying to get my husband to finally play Skyrim, and he’s a PS exclusive gamer.
Yh I'm not doing that 😂 purely because if you uninstall the game your load order goes poof and it's a nightmare to redownload all the mods and sort the load order back to what it was
I'd say get it for him I got my boyfriend into Skyrim just from letting him play AE on my PS5 (without the mods though only CC since he wanted the vanilla experience 😂)
That’s why you write down everything before doing so. The logical load order worksheet works for PlayStation too.
I’d make sure Hubby played vanilla first. You don’t know what to mod if you’ve never played before. He’s already asked me to make him a thing but he’s not getting it til he plays vanilla first. 🤣

Ive done it 3 times. You don’t have to redownload the mods and taking screenshots of your load order will make it easier putting everything back the way it should be.

I needed to go do the Boethiah quest so I told my dude Stenvar that we had to split up for a bit, I was reluctant to let him go but I was confident I could just go back to Candlehearth hall after I’d “dealt” with Marcurio at Boethiah’s shrine. So after my buisness was done I returned to Candlehearth hall; no Stenvar. I panicked and searched all of Windhelm, no Stenvar. I returned to Whiterun where I let Stenvar go and I found no trace of him anywhere.
Stenvar is my bro, I want him back, he was the best. Is there a mod on Xbox One that can help me to find him? I really miss him and he’s just gone.

Hello! Anyone having any issues running Skyrim Creation Kit on Steam? I used to be able to run Creation Kit from Bethesda Launcher. However, when Bethesda announced that it would shut down Bethesda Launcher, it is stated that it would continue on Steam. Now I have Skyrim Creation Kit via Steam, but unfortunately it won't launch. What should I do?
I'm having a similar problem I want to start getting into making mods but since the Bethesda Launcher is shutting down I don't know if I should wait till it's all moved to Steam or to start getting set up now 😅
If I'm right the Creation Kit on Steam already is for Skyrim LE not SE

Which version of the Creation Kit are you asking about? The 32 bit still works as long as you downloaded it prior to Bethesda removing the Steam page for it a while back. The 64 bit version works just fine as well. If you are going to download it from the Launcher, then download it and make a backup of it. It is just an app that will go in the same directory as your Skyrim game files. Make sure that it does not download to any other location. I never run the FO4 or Skyrim 64 bit kits from the Bethesda Launcher. It takes up too much memory in the background. Just click on the .exe directly from your game folder or create a shortcut directly from the app and add it to your Start Menu or desktop.
Okay. I made it. So it seems, the Creation Kit works for if you have early version of Skyrim (before SE), however I can't run with SE. That's odd. Anyway, it worked. 🙂
There are two creation kits. One works with 32bit (LE). One works with 64bit (SE). They only work for the game they were designed for.
So Ladies and Gentlemen WHERE on STEAM is this mythical beast called The Creation Kit, Downloaded on Bethesda but only got something that did not work, I have PC-AE, so had to unload it, waited and tried again but with same results, went to steam and can't find it anywhere, so I am assuming they renamed it to something else, did searches and got no answers from anyone anywhere SO anyone got a road sign?

I'm not really into doing my own mods, but I was thinking of trying to create a Unique Companion, I am really impressed with some I have seen and just thought it might be fun to do BUT so far a real headache SO I wish you luck and Thanks Again.
When you are in steam, go to Library. It is probably defaulted to Games, but from that dropdown, enable "Tools" also. Once done, you should find Skyrim Creation Kit, which will work only for the 32 bit, original "oldrim" version.
I could be wrong, but I believe would have to own that version of the game also. If you only own SE (AE included) then you may not see the 32 bit CK at all.
I'm looking forward to the 64-bit CK on Steam as well. I've got a few mods that need some clean-up/tweaking.
I don't see why it would be necessary to wait for the Steam distributed CK in order to begin any plugins. Unless there was something I missed.

Why are people waiting to download on Steam? That is not logical. If the launcher version is not working, it was installed incorrectly. Make sure your Steam folder has not been installed to program files. You must have run the game first for the CK to determine the registry info.

i uploaded a mod some days ago and it has been updating properly until today, where anytime i update it the version number doesn't change on bethesda.net but the description does.
I tried uploading the updated mod as it's own esp, but that didnt even show up at all on the net even though it said it had uploaded in the creation kit.
could it be a problem on Bethesda's side or is it the mod itself?

One of my favorite mods for this is "Ultimate Deadly Encounters," by tonycube2. This mod does away with Skyrim's vanilla spawn points and respawn timers. It randomizes its encounters, so that combat is liable to occur literally anyplace in the game, at literally any time. No more memorizing enemy locations. There are many other features in this mod (including assassins who disguise themselves as named NPCs, reinforcements arriving if a combat takes too long, adjusting the number and level of enemies, ect). It completely changes the feel of combat encounters in Skyrim.
The randomisation of spawns alone has me sold. Exactly what I need to make this fresh.

I have yet to be brave enough to try my hand at getting this into my load order, but I do use the two Genesis mods, which spun out of it. One day, I'll start with a blank slate, put this in first, and see what other mods I can squeeze around it.
It can be intimidating. There are multiple pages of MCM settings a player can configure, and it may take some experience with the mod to find exactly the right settings a player likes best. I felt a little overwhelmed by all the choices when I first used it.

How does this compare to Skyrim Immersive Creatures? Previously, that was my go-to for enemy enhancement.
As an alternative to using standard mods, Skyrim's Survival Mode ups the difficulty substantially.
The CK comes to Steam on the 27th?? This is good news, indeed!
I'd say the most important difference is randomization. Immersive Creatures relies heavily on vanilla spawn points and relies completely on vanilla respawn timers. Ultimate Deadly Encounters is entirely random in this respect - combat can happen literally anywhere, at literally any time. For me, this really keeps me on my toes at all times. You never know who or what is going to be around the next corner in a dungeon, or hiding behind a tree when you're out in the wilderness.
Couldn't this potentially cause quests (scripted encounters/events) to fail?

I've never noticed that in my games so far. I suppose a random combat might potentially kill off a quest-giver, but that's already a possibility in the vanilla game.

Not necessarily killing NPCs with quests but interferring with one of the scripted events where an NPC is supposed to light a basin, open a door, cast a spell, etc.
Skyrim immersive creatures actually messed up the intro cart ride sometimes by spawning wolves AND elk instead of just an elk when you round the second bend. Hadvar gets off his horse to chase after the wolf. The end result is that Hadvar never shows up in Helgen and your name never gets called when you get off cart - game is over before it starts.
I'd imagine completely random spawn points and timers having the potential to disrupt all sorts of stuff like this.
UDE doesn't allow the player to activate the mod until we have exited Helgen for this very reason. But like I say, I have never noticed any disrupted quests.

Hi, I am trying to play a previously modded but now fresh Steam install of Skyrim VR on Oculus Rift, but for some reason moving my left hand activates menus and magic, and my right trigger acts like a toggle. This makes it absolutely unplayable. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this, other than trying to delete, verify, and reinstall the game?
Use Skyrim AE instead. This is the only real decision.

I've never played VR. Do they have the same access to the controls menu that we do on PC? I know, whenever I do a fresh install, I have to remap the buttons and triggers on the controller. I wonder if it's the same for VR.

It is recompiled and not (yet) compatible with Nukem's CK fixes. By itself the editor has quite a bit of bugs that have always been there. Other than that, I've been able to launch and do some things with it just fine, but haven't seen anything new in terms of bugs (apart from the handful that were officially fixed.)

Depends on your system. PC has a few good ones. 'Trade and Barter' or 'skyrem - eve' would be my suggestions.

If the mod you were looking at utilizes an .esp/.esl, I'm going to safely guess it changes this value, and thus likely performs the function in the same way. I don't think one way is safer than the other.

Which is safer?
The real problem is not which is safer, but which gets saved. Not every setting you alter at run-time will get baked into a save. In this instance, according to the UESP wiki page for console commands, the setgs command does not persist and has to be re-entered every time the game loads. As a result, if you desired to not have to bother with that you'd want to use a mod make the alteration(s) instead.

You can load up the plugin in CK and in the object window, checkmark the (*) checkbox to see what assets it may be using in order to give you hints. Or check in SSEdit. Also, sometimes mod authors will put in author name and summary information inside of a plugin, it can be checked in CK's plugin loader window or SSEedit.
Other than that, I'm not really sure what mod it belongs to.

No I just want the level to not be reset. Mainly so I can get my perk points at any time to put them somewhere else. Kind of allowing respec anytime. Without having to re-grind the skill again to 100. This also stopping me from becoming super duper OP
You don’t have to reset the level. Don’t make it legendary. Just leave it at 100. As far as the Respec option I’m no expert but I think that would require scripting. Not gonna happen on PS.

I got a question I am looking for a mod that makes shot arrows and crossbow bolts in Skyrim SE to never disappear even when I load a saved game again or go in and out of buildings. I found mods that increase the time how long shot arrows last in the world, but they still disappear I want arrows to never disappear I want to stick arrows in trees and wooden fences and all that just see them stuck in there. Much appreciated if anyone finds that mod or makes it.

On the whole "no scripting" thing on PS there is a bit of a loophole. The restriction is no custom scripts. You can, however repurpose any default scripts that ship with the normal game and CC to do other things and bend that restriction a bit.
It may be entirely possible to use one or more such scripts to do what the above person is requesting, as a result. Whether it would be easy and/or pretty/intuitive though is another matter.

Possibly. Creating implementations for things is one of my strong suits when it comes to modding. It's something I'd have to look into further though to see if it can actually be done and, if so, what order of time and effort may be involved. Although at the moment I'm not really feeling motivated tbh; kinda on hiatus.

Having something like that will create a massive save bloat in your game which will lead to your save file being unplayable. Unless you track down every arrow ever used by yourself and enemies after combat. All those arrows adding up in every cell that had a battle. Plus needing to remove arrows constantly from guards practicing in places like solitude. All arrows never going away would be a huge tax on the system

I'm here cuz my skyrim vr crashes on start up, no matter how modded, unmodded (completely clean reset, inis, program files & appdata all cleared) it is. I modded it a bit ago and it worked so perfectly until half a year ago when an update broke it, and now my whole game doesn't function at all 😦

Well, the only mods by them on Bethesda.net are ported by other users. According to a GameFAQs forum post, the porter of that mod had everything under their profile pulled sometime about 1 year ago. That's my only explanation.
After looking it up on nexus I get the feeling it may have run afoul of bethesda's adult/nsfw content policies.

Mod Request: PlayStation: CC Survival Mode: A ring or such, that doesn't take up an equipment slot, which would make you immune to cold weather and freezing water damage.
Reasoning: Vampirism. I like hunger and sleep still being a concern but cold as a vampire is literally crippling. I suggested an equipable for compatabilites sake.

A small success for me as I managed to turn a scroll into a Medieval Javelin 😄 One of those WTF medieval weapons that was actually a common legit hunting and military weapon and we wouldn't believe it existed if it wasn't pasted all over manuscripts.

For anyone using "Ryn's Standing Stones" AiO, with the Serpent Stone, has anyone encountered a glitch or issue where the standing stone is buried halfway? I reported this issue to the mod author and they said that it was more than likely a mod conflict, something I indeed ensured upon looking at RSS with CK and looking at the worldspace. So I started up SSEEdit to find what mod conflict would it be (I heard this was the more easier way to do it instead of uninstalling mods left and right, logging into your game, going to the location and seeing whether or not that fixed it) and I'm a bit new into using SSEEdit I'm afraid.
From what I can tell by going into the mod's worldspace file, the sections "MHDT - Max Height Data" and "FULL - Name" are a pinkish red, with the above sections listing mod esps are in red text. Is this where I am to find the mod conflict?
This is getting ridiculous, So Way of the Voice, Stuck on Follow Borri, But Borri won't go outside, looks like that Arcwind glitches is hitting more than just arcwind, and counted 16 CTD's with mods that worked up until the 4th complete CLEAN re-install of the game which by the way was triggered in the middle of a play through on just a regular part of the Vanilla Game missions.
Anyone care to explain this complication here? Using the following mods in reference to better help figure out the problem.

Turns out it was indeed Better Docks that was, for some reason, adding in that boat that would cause the issue here
Which is a "bit" weird since I don't think that should be happening since I did have the patch so that Better Docks - Modular could work with Riften Docks Overhaul? Not unless the patch doesn't address that.

It's not. I forgot that I'm working on scripts that use the script extender and you can't work on them without the extension scripts to provide context for the script manager.

The bethnet mod page has a search bar and filter. Type "perk" into the bar, then adjust the filter to PS4, and go from there. 
Anyone happen to know how to fix an issue with SSEEdit? I discovered an issue when using both Survival Mode Improved and Weapons Armor Clothing and Clutter together, the issue being that the NPC Milore Ienth would appear naked with only her hood on and was wondering if I could possibly fix it myself?
Move WACC's change to the last Survival one(except where survival mod change)
Or just try use console click that npc and type "resetinventory"

Ordinator perk overhaul is the best I found around by far, idk if it's on Playstation tho. I literally will never play skyrim without it now

But any other you might have to pick from are all (?) available on Xbox and PC and I don’t really know anyone that uses anything but the ones by Simon or Enai.
I do think you have Yash2 as an option. Good perk changes there for sure. But it does a lot more than just perks.

Welp I guess nobody wants to make a mod that makes shot arrows and crossbow bolts to not disappear and put a description in the mod saying use at your own risk due to save bloat and all that. I'll just go ahead and try at making one myself, but Idk how I'd figure it out I only know of increased time I am out of luck it seems. I'll just try myself and fail over and over until I find success.
Can anyone give me advice on load order for skyrim? I'm new to modding, and am hoping to avoid a dozen restarts to get a stable load order. I did use a guide, so I'm hoping it's not too bad but I'd still like some eyes on it that have more experience. I am playing on an Xbox one.

I don't think I've got very many mods, but I'd greatly appreciate any insight on improvements that could be made
you have alot of followers you should cut a few and try the cut followers with different playthroughs
A lot of them interact together, which is why I have so many
If you take all of them with you at once you could get crashing. If you do beat to limit it to only two or three at once and leave the others at home. But I suspect you will end up getting annoyed with that many followers. Inigo and Lucien alone will give you more content than you o ow what to do with.

I've recently begun to create a new and ambitious mod project, in the Tamriel universe. One that will be very exciting for players, and Mod contributors; and offer a really exciting chance to work on a very unique story with some really amazing concepts. The Mod will be a predictably large project and has a LOT of amazing content and some serious lore-mongering;it will also feature a really rich and deep story that Elder scrolls historians will appreciate. I am looking for a few people who might show interest in a really fun and exciting mod that will allow creators to explore the talents, and create a mod that will be one of the most interesting and engaging mods of the year.
I am currently in the concept stage, and planning the mod but would like to start bringing a small amount of people onto the project for now to introduce the concept and story to.

For a large game dev project, two pieces of advice I can give if your new to the process, is: avoid scope creep as best you can (setting limits and trying to stick to those limits), and to be prepared for the long haul. Treat the development cycle as a marathon and not a sprint, having a strategy as to not burn yourselves out too frequently, if possible. The process of making mods is at the mercy of our free time, and when real life occurances happen, our hobbies are some of the first things to take a hit.
Other than that! - I wish you the best of luck, and can't wait to see what you have planned. 😉 👍
Not a bad idea, especially if people are anticipating whatever the mod is. A sampler before the main meal never hurt.
Mental stamina itself is an important one I forgot to mention, but I won't get into that.
Hey I just tried adamant perk overhaul and some of the level 100 skill perks aren't showing in the tree. Any idea what is causing it or do they auto apply upon hitting lvl 100. I'm on ps4 as well don't know if that has anything to do with it
Explain "aren't showing in the tree" and what skills are affected. My first thought is mod conflict.

It's completed (depending on how that's defined) but not updated to where the PC version has gone. It'll be awhile till it does.

That dress might be good for an informal event, but not so much for adventuring in cold mountains. The “bleh” was the response to the pneumonia you’d get doing that.
i have different ones im working on for formal dresses (i also have a few released) the ones im working on are a ball gown and a formal dress

Unless we're just talking about normal clothes and not armour.
probably not with natural materials, except maybe a little with silk or something. Might need to adjust your specular map or the specular strength or glossiness of the mesh.
Just pretend there is a spell and/or enchantment keeping back the cold.
