Can a texture cause quest steps not to update? I’m not sure how intermingled everything is. I had to quit my investigation and go to work (bummer) but I’ll narrow it down tonight.

Type A&B Localization is Xbox only problem. Type B needs some ini adjustments for Xbox, but on PC it's just one mod(no partial localization) if that's what you're asking maybe...?

There are many people that participated in localization. I don't know if all of them are still active.

On PC, the localization mod works as a replacement of English Strings (with korean compatible fonts of course)
On Xbox, for full localization to work, file name change from Skyrim_english.strings to Skyrim_Korean.strings, translate_english.txt to translate_korean.txt is required with an ini file

nah but there is a difference here lol. For one because if its too much work for the original authors to want to redo it all that does say something. On top of that we also know that there are few ppl with the skillset and knowledge that could even consider redoing those plugins. And finally somone asked if we know whether or not someone will take up the mantle. The answer is: no we dont know and we can infer that its pretty unlikely for the forseable future

I remember that one dwarven cavern in Oldrim where they straight up didn't add a wall underwater, allowing you to swim out of the map easily.

Anniversary is nothing but SSE with the creations
SSE mods generally work with AE
The only exception is when a mod touches a creation that has been updated, or when a new creation conflicts with a mod (but that is the case with all content)

@night rover I decided to do some testing on whether or not SSE still works properly offline after the latest update, and I noticed that all greyed-out mods are now flagged as 'illegal,' or whatever designation causes them to say 'this mod cannot be activated and should be deleted.' As you probably know, while playing offline, ALL mods become greyed out. This is a major blow to people like myself who hope to continue playing this game after the servers shut down, because it would severely limit our ability to adjust our LO after that point, since I can never again deactivate a mod temporarily. The most important reason why this is a serious issue is that it's highly recommended to have nearly all of your mods disabled when making a new character and going through the Helgen intro, only activating them after exiting Helgen cave, if not later. This issue would effectively prevent modded players from making new characters after going offline.
I sincerely hope this issue gets fixed (along with the inability to back out of the mod page after it fails to load, forcing an entire restart of the game). We've been assured for years that we'll be able to keep our old character files and mods even after they're taken down off the site, and unless I've been unaware of some secret 4am dumps this past year or so, mod theft / ToS-unfriendly porting is not nearly the issue it used to be - certainly not enough of an issue that all greyed-out mods need to be flagged like this

@night rover the update broke my copy of skyrim im getting a black screen when loading can bethesda rollback the update,the game is also locked to 60 fps and when i did get in to play by starting a new game (if my character dies i get black screen again when it trys to load a save) it made riften and other problem areas lag (those areas were fixed on series x) can bethesda use boost mode instead of 60 fps native the shadows also seem to be missing amabiant occlussion the shadows arent good (i know amaiant occlussion caused the shadow bug but it is better than weak shadows there was also a mod people could use to disable ao),there is also less grass and some types seem to be missing on whiterun tundra,also some rock meshes seem to of been changed there are some seams to outside the map,i dont know if it is a new bug but when i fast travelled to morthal i spawned on top of a building it was thonnirs house,there are alot of water seams around the stone with the power near morthal (i rember there was always a water seam there but there are atleat 5/6 they were north of the stone with the power i crashed there aswell (i never crashed there before).can bethesda roll back the version and if they did would we still be able to use the new cc

Your system has to be online to add/enable mods. This was a necessary change for security reasons.
Thanks. I’m not sure I understand all of it but I don’t see anything specifically about the next gen console graphics or performance updates. Specifically the FPS 60 vs boost concerns people are having.
Some graphical mods on consoles may need to be tweaked to accommodate for the base game adjustments. If you try disabling your graphical mods, do you still encounter the black screen issue?
More generally, we're tracking a few reports of black screens. Some mod authors have already released updates to accommodate for graphical changes or script optimization.
i tried it with the minimum of mods i could it loading saves again,whiterun has some lag and looks wrong it seems there is a lighting problem (a light had pop in the one on the main road beside belathor but it looked like a engine bug it is also very bright,when i was playing earlier it was very dark) whiterun didnt lag earlier with the full lo (the game works ok modded except the fps problem,it just wont save).i also seen on other social media they disabled all there mods they got it to work but it came back after awhile.also i seen people who are playing vanilla have it aswell

i tried to ini 30fps earlier it didnt work
ye tried that too, was just checking other INI work so you can have ambient occlusion how you like it
FASOintensity 1 -15 ish
= 10 is sweet spot for looks and reduces it but still just enough, = 15 ish is vanilla
Chances are one of them is your culprit. I've had at least one person tell me that grass mods was causing problems for them on PS4. We're looking into it.
Is the team tracking the issues with the file handler limit?
Without engine fixes we can’t load more than about 500 addons counting bsas, and with CC there we’re down to about a max of 300 addons counting bsas.
And with how many addons have tons of esl patches and stuff, we hit that limit super quickly.

I was at about 900 pre-AE personally, but now that engine fixes isn’t going to be updated we can’t patch the limit ourselves
Any chance you’re using something like Kartoffels’ SSE cleaned textures?
I know that will need an update because the bsas were reorganized in AE
im using a custom texture mod i cant release it because i use alot of other peoples assets
@night rover i disabled them the orange glow isnt there (it might just be one of the weather effects so it could still be there but it was gone duiring this test,for the lighting it is still poping in it happened on the main road and walking up to the companions also the grass is still not there)

its possible grass is random generated and different each playthrough, or they changed it
you have a lot issues in your game, have you tried to troubleshoot yourself? IE remove lighting mods because of your lighting issues? or disable all mods, hard reset, new game to test?
from what i rember grass and small rocks are random but it is less dense and smaller
because i have the same 150 mod load order and have no problems since update other than performance
yes im currently testing right now i have loading working again
also whiterun is alot more noticable with less grass
@night rover the game isnt booting anymore i was loading some small esp (npc mods) but it frooze i had to force quit and now i cant test

Was the mods menu option removed with the AE update? The in game menu, I mean. Or is there is issue with that because of there having been mods. Currently doing a fresh install of the game tho. Just would like to know.

There are other full SMIM options that have been optimized. SMIM 1k is a solid option on Xbox.

Either SMIM 1k, Noble SMIM if using Noble Skyrim, GP SMIM if using GP, or SMiM essentials if really tight on space.
SMIM E just does chests, barrels, ropes and chains.

file size of divine smim looks to be 1k so should also be good light option, my recommendation for a smim to go with skyland would be noble or divine, because both of those have complete furniture covered, other smim dont and skyland doesnt have furniture @cobalt badger
and if ever use gp, use gp smim which is 1k also
I thought some of hers kinda “required” her other texture mods as some of the SMIM was in other mods of hers. Kinda like your Graphics pack SMIM.

performance issues is quite important thing
to test even small framerate issues you may not notice normally, just rotate around some trees slowly whilst looking at the trees and in 1st person view. new game clean save
you should get some microstuttering vanilla no mods
with just 1 tree mod or a grass mod big stutters

My game is pretty modded up and I'm on the Series S Xbox. No issues here.
@trail terrace i thought it was stable in the few places i seen before it eat itself,i did have stutter in riften before the update it was stable,i did have lighting issues
Some mods however are affected by this AE, unfortunately. It sucks.
frame drops in riften and falkreath heavy forested parts is normal
but elsewhere in most places with trees, which is most of the game i have the issue
in vanilla its small
with just 1 tree or grass mod its quite bad
i never got frame drops in falkreath on the last gen xbox i got lag in riften with a heavy lo
i just rembered i did have alot of lag around morthal and a crash in the swamp

It is not, no. We don't provide old copies of the patch.

Our updates are often tied in pretty closely with the game. So we need to keep it in sync with what's available on Steam. Since the game version is now at 1.6.318 that's what we need to target. We have never offered old copies of the patch to anyone for any reason.

Because offering an out of sync patch is not something we care to get involved in.
It would be unwise to use the updated old one because any changes made to bring things in line with the update will be missing and may cause conflicts.
Nexus has enabled people to do things to their games that we don't consider wise, but it is what it is. Their whole archiving thing is daft as hell and only fosters stagnation.
frankly the game is 10 years old any further "fixes" are mostly a matter of taste. I've been running USSEP 4.2.4 since it came out, and there have been no ill effects whatsoever. Implying that not updating could break your game is pretty disingenuous. Frankly, I'm thrilled that Nexus is archiving builds, because if something happens to my setup I'd like not to be forced into anything I'm not ready for.
@pine crown for people who are holding out for certain mods to be updated, is it best to not update to the newest USSEP yet? Wait and do that when we update the game?
If you're holding out for some reason, then yes, stick with the older copy.

it's completely safe to use if your masters are from the version 1.5.97, Arthmoor will say it's unwise to use it, because he doesn't acknowledge that ppl can be using previous versions of Skyrim for valid reasons.
i uninstalled all of my mods to try and solve the infinite loading screen and yes it worked but now my game crashes every time i press escape to bring up the save menu

Heck im still using the version pre "typocalypse" and its just fine. Just because a mod gets updated doesnt necessarily mean the previous versions are all of a sudden broken. Dont get me wrong, im grateful for the fixes the patch team has brought over the years, but the thing is, its been years lol. Most fixes these days are QoL or subjective. To try and say people are stagnating a modding space thats been about for years by refusing to update until things like the skse DLL situation is sorted is disingenuous at best.
Creations are nice, but they arent necessary or must have changes. Most DLL type mods are alot more necessary.
ppl have no notion, like, recreating USSEP from the scratch by only reading the changelogs would be easier than updating commonlib and engine fixes
downgrading the exe is the best choice right now, and ussep works perfectly because it's exe independent because the authors don't rely on 3rd party hacks 😂

it seems none of the creations rely on the exe, only on the esms and bsas, so you can have the best of two worlds
i think halgari is making a downgrader for only the exe and DLL loader has binkw64 that was deleted and is needed, so that will be the golden standard

From where I sit, not providing old copies of things IS the community conscious thing to do. History has proven every time that people update silently in the background not long after plastering everyone's feeds with complaints.

Sure. You're free to believe they do, but they really don't. Their policy changes are actively detrimental to advancing things.
I'm pro giving people choices and not breaking load orders, so in my opinion, Nexus is doing a great job.
Nexus does nobody any favors by allowing people to continue to access outdated material. Especially if that may then lead to problems with the game updates. They should have made participation in the archive system voluntary, like every other respectable mod hosting site.
the nexus changes are helpful so wabbjack can make so a lot of those complaints are moot

The problem is, the vast majority will update. End of story. Encouraging the outliers to sit around in defiant resistance of that isn't helpful and does nobody any favors.
This happens on every update of the game, regardless. It hasn't changed before, it won't change now.
Updating the game is different than updating USSEP. I've frozen the version of plenty of mods I didn't like changes to, doesn't break a darn thing. And you know what? No one seems to care.

The vast majority are quite frankly, uneducated on the issues the new update has brought. Ive had to delete almost a dozen "my game crashes after the update, its your mod" comments so far today, despite it literally being AE itself causing the crashes on its own, without any mods installed.
There's no gatekeeping about it. People update. We're going to provide proper support for that. Which includes NOT leaving old copies of things around to cause confusion or generate invalid bug reports.
What Halgari has done is exactly the opposite of good practices in this regard.
The two things are not mutually exclusive. You can support updating without gatekeeping people with older versions. Pretending you have the moral high ground while denying people the ability to choose is really paternalistic in my opinion.

There are a specific type of mod that's temporarily broken. This logic does not apply to all mods.

In what way? Thats literally what AE is. There are no fixes in the update. Id say engine fixes is one of the most influential, essential mods in recent years. That alone is worth not updating for frankly.

How can console users actually tell what mods are causing the 'black screen with sounds playing' crash that Anniversary/the new update is causing, if that's even possible? I mean is it specific types; like mods that have pluggins to work with other mods? Or follower mods? I know Lucien's creator implemented a fix, but that was just for Lucien.
I'm just so exhausted with work and life in general that I just can't go through the fifty hour process of testing all 130ish mods that've been in my LO to see if removing it/them helps. I literally just don't have enough free time.
TLDR; is there a specific kind of mod/s that should be avoided to avoid Anniversary's compiler issue? Or is just safer to go no-mods now?

Quick question: does anyone know of any mods that either remove the entrance effect or auto complete the purification on all the all-maker stones in Solstheim, or at least make the player character immune to the entrance effect whenever they sleep?
Almost all my playthroughs are just “ordinary person” runs that don’t even start the main story, but I hate the idea of not being able to go to Solstheim without waking up at a random stone all the time.
I was finally able to get past the blackscreen issue and it ended up being Lucien even after updating the mod.
I'm getting it without Lucien, so it's probably something in a lot of mods, or all of them. Or just the updated Skyrim in general.
At this point who knows for sure I guess. I don’t even like “blaming”Lucien because it could just be an incompatibility with that and another mod. Over even my game itself might need a reinstall which I haven’t the will to deal with atm lol

PS4 does not allow custom assets. It cannot be done.
Someone even used a workaround to trick bethnet into uploading custom assets for a ps4 mod once and the game ignored the files. It is literally impossible.

Arcadia's is outside of Whiterun, on the road to the Western Watchtower. The other adds a farm field when you build the garden of Heljarchen Hall in the Pale.

What is the issue you are having?
I tried the whole delete save files and reinstalling the game
0KB glitch. Okay so let me explain
So basically ever since I bought the anniversary edition my game corrupted my save files and gave a bunch of 0KB glitches. So I have to delete everything from my cloud to my main storage. So when I reinstalled the third time I tried the method of creating a new character quick save then load in my mods in the game after I load in my mods I went back in the game Quick save to see if it was good and it was fine. So I add 5 creation club mods at a time and each of those time I add 5 between I load in the game quick save and basically do it like a pattern Load 5 creation mods, load in game, Quick Save, Repeat. But it didn't work cus on the fourth repeat when I loaded in the save the game again it gave me the 0KB glitch.
So I don't know what to do at this point I rebuild my database and that didn't work I delete all the save files and that didn't work. I even started fresh with a new character and nothing.

Turtle, if I understand your question correctly, the begin your new life quest stalls once you get out into the world, and will pick back up after you've visited Helgen or something else has happened to trigger it.
Consider it that you've begun your new life, and the quest is open because it's still in progress. Once you get to Helgen and find the journal, that should change over to the normal "go to Riverwood," or "explore the cave" quests.

after installing AE I am (still) unable to access the Bethesda Mods site through the main menu. It doesn’t remember me (well it knows me when doing the same in FO4 so it is only Skyrim related) and hitting B (back button) plays main menu music but the screen is stuck so force restart is the only option. Is this a general issue?

I assuming question 1 is just Bethesda issues and hopefully it will be working in the near future. Do we have a list of all working/updates mods for the Anniversary Edition? eg Unofficial Patch, True Storms, Realistic Water 2, etc etc etc?
I was getting that weird screen when backing out of mod menu but I was also having the reload black screen. Since the reload black screen has resolved I don't get the weird screen but still frequently get the "log in" message when I was redownloading mods. I would have to hard reset et keep trying to get into the mod menu. I think it may be high traffic as a lot of people had to clear reserve, uninstall etc post update et now want to put their mods back in.
Anyone know of graphic mods that just upscale to 1k or 2k all im finding are retextures
Textures are already a mix of 1k and 2k. Project Clarity is better upscaled vanilla textures if that's what you're looking for.

Don't think it's possible to figure out a full list of working mods until someone really pins down the cause for the black screen bug showing up in a lot of games. Even then, that's... a LOT of mods to check. Mods with authors who have moved on, or porters who have moved on. I know there was a weird sense of "stuff on XBO won't break since there's no skse there," but that unfortunately didn't seem to pan out. Just gotta wait and hope someone figures out how to fix stuff :/
I know about it, but it's just a band-aid and it's going to cause issues down the line.
Since there is only one Skyrim SE, we are going to start seeing mods that have been written for AE in the mod community, ones that do not work in SE. Pretty soon the mod community is going to become a minefield as we hunt for mods that are compatible with the version of Skyrim we have.
That's why I really wish the two were separate downloads from Steam. Like LE and SE are currently.
You could roll it back yourself if you don't think that'd suffice. Also yes, we're going to start seeing those mods, but you just don't download them. Or if you want them bad enough then you buy AE. As it stands though any mod that gets updated to AE and no longer for SE, then just grab the most recent version that you can use and go from there. Ae requirements would be listed in the requirement tab on nexus. Plus Nexus will probably make a it a tag in of itself so you probably would turn off looking for AE mods and focus on what you have instead.

Any advice to what mods should i avoid using with Skyrim AE, at least before mods are (if) updated to support all CC content? World space edits and large overhauls at minimum i think. I'm playing on Series X & PC mainly.
@old minnow sda also i think climates of tamerial removing it helped my game (other players who i helped i recommended removing it got there game working again) to remove it delete your saved games on the xbox not your reserved space then delete it but there are players who are playing vanilla who reported it also ps4 and in the last day alot of pc players (they didnt seem to have it before) the pc players tried disabling all mods and couldnt get it working

Mods with heavy scripts (ai/new active factions etc.) is what i mostly run with. Texture mods to less extent mainly roads and some of the worst textures overhauled. A pinch of smim too. Seems like it's vanilla run for now at least.
the ps4 doesnt have scripts and there effected and on pc there was a player who only had some clothes mods that had it aswell

Hey I am running a LBGSHI mod for adding structures and after a bit of work, found that none of the activateable items (gates and chairs and blacksmith …etc) could be deleted with the provided tool. Is there a work around for this?

No, that was just a bad comparison. The amount of content that Dragonborn provides compared to Fishing is absurd. Fishing is still a mod that you download from the Creation Club, where Creation Club Mods are kept.

Well technically they're both downloadable content, just one is made officially and the other is unofficial.

CC content goes through the same full development pipeline as every other regularly employed developer there working with game builds, at least according to the website page. Some in-house work is done on the content itself as well, and some of the items within definitely are full in-house work (ei, alternative armors, etc.) Other than it being official, those are other reasons why I don't call them mods.
I think you can still remove the files for that like the other things, and hopefully, won't show up as installed in the menu either after that.

Voice synthesizers are fair game, yes. The law is a bit murky where deep fakes are concerned, though.

Internally, there is a very important distinction between content made officially (like creations), and community-made content (like mods).
However, there's no question that the two have similar scales. So we certainly don't mind when folks call creations "mods" or "official mods" or even "paid mods." From this perspective, those terms all make sense.
This blurred line does cause confusion when we talk about mods from our perspective, and folks interpret it from the community perspective. And perhaps the best thing we can do is shift our language to match, and just rely on explanations to differentiate.

Yeah, i don't think CC content has the production quality of a DLC (everything in notes etc.) so i would think of those as curated mods as well.

If you're referring to "Creations" those are DLC by the accepted gaming industry definition of a DLC.
The only difference here is that BGS aren't the only ones who made these DLCs.

Hi everyone, maybe someone here can help me, I just checked the village of Keld-Nar made by @pine crown (sorry for the ping) but i cant seem to be able to trade with the blacksmith and purchase services at the Inn such as hiring a room or buying food, the orc inside the blacksmith shop only offers to armor my horse. The only mods I have installed are the CC stuff, USSEP, True Storms, Oakwood, Keld-Nar, easierider dungeon pack and 50 pct more perk points. Oakwood tho is working properly, both the inn and the general store have services available, tho I had to pick the lock to enter the general store even during the time it should be opened. Any help on this would be appreciated!

I'm trying to use The Alchemist's Cookbook mod, but I'm in need of help concerning the patcher. I have used this mod before, but only needed recipes for the vanilla game and Rare Curios. Unfortunately, the FOMOD is not working correctly and I had to extract the mod, choose the needed files manually and create a new zip. Now that Anniversary Edition is out, I would like to use this mod and have new recipes added, as the update comes with several new alchemical ingredients. The installer offers two options: Pre-Made Recipes and Pacher. Naturally, I'd have to choose only the Patcher option, but I have no idea if I need to do anything else to make it work. The Patcher options adds the following files to my Data folder in MO2: AlchemistCookbook.esp, AlchemistCookbook.bsa and mlqalchemistcookbookpatcher-v1.0.0.zip. This last file contains a partials folder and some js and json files. I was wondering if someone could tell me how do I proceed now. Do I need any extra tools? How do I use the patcher for this mod, specifically?

@night rover some of my mods are auto disabling themself and going to the bottom of the load order they have no dependency and i have used them for years (also im sure a few have deleated themself and i had to redownload them)

We had to make a security change to how mods work, which is why they can't be enabled/disabled when you are offline. I wonder if this impacted unreleased mods as well. I don't see why it would have, but it's worth looking into.

the third was i think lx building mod (i cant rember the name)but it lets you build buildings anywhere (i also wasnt told it was disabled by the game) and i think mods are deleating themself im nearly sure i redownloaded mods a few times
i dont think it is the individual mods it seems like there is somthing causing it in the system maybe it was the security update i will let you know if it happens again i will be testing tonight

It is possible to play stealth Archer in vanilla. If anything Ordinator makes it more possible. Maybe I don’t understand what you are asking?
well im trying to be stealth archer while using ordinator mod that changes loads of the perks but it seems like one of those vanilla perks that gave you like 3x sneak damage multiplier is not there
You can play stealth archer with just 1x damage. Sender is the most OP basic combat option.

Ok so i spent a full month installing a mod list, tweaking, optimizing and patching it to perfection(around 400 mods) Obviously i set my update to ''only when launched'' in steam but still, during the middle of the day when i was out my game force updated itself to AE and broke everything. Found a downgrade patch on nexus i'm downloading now praying there's a chance it will save my heavily modded game from this disaster but here's the question.
How did the game update? How do i stop it from breaking everything every 2-3 days? Could it be coming from the Bethesda launcher and CK?! I have no clue how this happened.
The main way to stop it from updating is to launch the game via SKSE.

For most players, their saves and mod lists were unaffected by the update. The biggest exceptions I know of are folks who intentionally changed their mod list and started over, and those with some sensitive mods that require an update to work with AE, and haven't gotten one yet. There may be some other edge cases, but losing saves definitely isn't the norm.
i didnt change my mod list and on some forums i use everyone who i talked to said they had problems so it seems to be widespread,as for modders needing to update what is it we need to update it isnt just script mods ps4 players are effected they only have esp and now pc players are they didnt seem to be effected for a few days after the update.i was going tru a small lo i was using for testing that wasnt getting black screen and i could load then it started black screening again then the game wouldnt load i then test the lo i thought i found the problem it loaded again but then after awhile it black screened again it seems like a memory leak.if it is somthing on our side were should we look

i know but it could be used as an oppertunity aswell to increase the mod limit also is bethesda investagating the issue with the esp deactivating themself and are we able to change files we use to use ini files for in the the ck do you know where to decrease fps,the amount of grass and shadows is there a reason they were removed for console or was it just a accident and will it be readded,for cc if i buy ae for xbox do all the cc download automatically i dont want some of them when i bought it on pc they all downloaded
For consoles, a number of graphical settings were moved out of the INI. Framerate is one of them, as it was dependent on some other tech.
If you get the AE upgrade, all of the CC will download.
At the moment we aren't considering an increase to mod space, since this would wipe all downloaded mods. After applying a cap on the number of mods that can be enabled we did look into ways to increase it, but ultimately determined it needed to be kept there.

I'm trying to re-order some mods (I think that's why one of my mods isn't working), but it won't let me do anything besides move two mods back and forth between positions. I'm using the Skyrim SE stock mod interface.

there is a early version of skse for ae you could try the roll back mod (i cant rember the name) but it lets you roll back to the previous version your cc should still work
The only one of the ones you listed that won't be allowed to move out of position is the USSEP since it's flagged as an ESM file. The rest should be letting you move them around freely.

No, there are no CK settings to control those that I'm aware of.

Maybe. I can't remember if the UI shows you the combined size of the .esp and .bsa file or not.
It's also possible I may have added that text to my copy so I know which version it is.

Are you certain you have no old DLL extensions for SKSE hanging around in your Data folder?
All I'm sure of is that most of my mods are from the in-game CC store, and that the mods I downloaded gave instructions to put such-and-such folder in such-and-such place, and I did. If there are any 'old' extensions, they were either already in place, or I was told to put them there.
The crash you're getting could very easily be due to an old DLL that hasn't been updated yet for the current game version.
I got the Anniversary Update, and with it the whole 'click here to spend X hours downloading ALL THE THINGS' content bundle.
So I have that, plus ^^ what you see above.
It's entirely possible the crash is unrelated to the mods then.
I mean, if SkyUI or whatever isn't ready, I'll remove it. I was just browsing Youtube for Skyrim vids, saw one of half-a-dozen "HEY YOU DROP EVERYTHING AND CHECK OUT THIS LIST OF MUST-HAVE-NOW SUPER-ACTION-AWESOME MODS" videos, and the UI mod seemed interesting.
SkyUI is fine. You just may be running into something else is all.
Huh. I un-ticked SkyUI, loaded the save file, and it crashed mid-load. Booted up again, and it loaded just fine, SkyUI now un-ticked.
Is it an old save from before the update?
grass density can actually be changed with CK and you can control what grass types have what density compared to INI is value for all @tight hull. also grass density still works via INI
CK has not been updated, nor have we announced any updates at this time.
Don't know about SkyUI, but i use ScryUI and it works for me. Might be the overall LO that makes/breaks things for me/you though. Adding one mod a time --> testing.. Got around 40 running fine now.. 80 to go..

i just had a look at the file for cot it has meshes textures and sound although when i disabled it i liked the vanilla weather again so i might use that for awhile with a increase rain mod,i have had mods i disabled and got the loading working again but it started to black screen awhile later it seems the problem is in the system maybe the new security update

It also has an .esm and several .esps. Those are the files that are causing your problems, not meshes and textures.
i just use the main file not the esp add ons,what do you think in the esm is causing the black screen it is also happening with other esp aswell when i find a problem mod i remove it and it works again but after awhile the problem comes back i dont think it is on the modder side i think it is a engine or security system causing it

Hey guys hopefully someone here can help me, for some reason my general store vendors are not restocking building materials (glass/straw/goat horns) they restock everything else but those pesky materials needed to build our homes, I checked multiple general stores such as the ones in Whiterun, Riverwood and Falkreath and once you buy their current stock they wont renew them, is anyone else having the same issue since the AE update? or maybe its a problem with the mods im using? My current load order is:
- Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch
- Unofficial Survival Patch
- Cutting Room Floor
- True Storms
- Oakwood
- Keld-Nar
- easierider's dungeon pack
- 50 pct more perk points
And of course all the CC added by the Anniversary Edition, any help on this or if someone else could confirm the bug would be appreciated!
edit: For test purposes what I did to refresh the npc inventory was to buy the stuff, exit the game, and reopen and load the save, the npc inventory should be restocked.

Does anyone know of any mod that would effect the loot drop from Mudcrabs? It seems that if you have Fishing, certain mods that may effect mudcrabs will no longer allow them to give you Crab Meat.
if you want to know if any of your mods are interfering with it, load your whole load order into xEdit, and look at the mudcrab record

I went to the place with a conjurer named naare or sth like that and i got 2 of 3 soulstones in the questlog but i have 3 in my inventory and my last save is like 20 hours ago pls help
update:
the crab meat is not added to anything via the esm, it's added via script, and therefore has no conflicts
So now how am I supposed to figure out with xEdit on what is making the mudcrabs not drop crab meat then -_-
in this case, it's nearly impossible to figure out the cause

well, the script injection method makes it easy to avoid conflicts, but hard to troubleshoot
I had my own issues with some creations the first time around. Like blacksmiths had a “…” dialogue option with weird responses, quests starting still out of helgen etc… I ended up deleting and reinstalling which seems to have fixed everything… so far. Maybe something didn’t download properly? Just a guess tho
So what just delete Fishing and redownload it again?
Oh I don’t recommend anything for a current playthrough it might cause issues. Just remember when you start a new character

I've been creating test saves, playing the game, creating the character, starting it up, and move around here and there until I get the results. Alternate Start greatly helps with this.

Because if you're stuck on the part with the dream gems, there are 4 in total; two are inside coffins, one that is on top of the skeleton laying in the open coffin to the left when you first enter, and one near the dead necromancer. Once you acquired all 3 gems in the dream world, collect the 4th gem if you haven't from the necromancer and continue from there

decompiling the pex files is possible, but tedious, and I always fear something gets lost in translation
Out of curiosity, is there another program to use that works for both FO4 and Skyrim other than Champolion? Hex gets skewed on Game.GetFormFromFile() and script fragments are out-putted in the wrong order, which makes things even more tedious.

never used it so idk if it tries converting them to hex for you or if it outputs in the decimal that would otherwise be there.
I think it is in decimal, but with FO4 there have been enough context to look things up. Skyrim papyrus intimidates me so much. omg.
Ah, I see. Well, you can pop the number into the windows calculator in programmer mode and it automatically shows it as hex for you.
All of the "0xF039D010" type bits in scripts are just literals that get converted into integers by the compiler so I presume the integer value is what champollion would give you.

Hello to all. I need help about Skyrim Creation Kit Special Edition. I'm having issue with preview window, when I right click on a model in the list and select "Preview", the object in the preview window is flickering (flashing) when I try to view other models.

Today only received a small patch. The focus was to take care of the black screen issue, with a few extras that were ready to be included.
Due to changes in how graphics are being handled, it's unlikely an INI edit will ever be possible to change the frame rate. However, I have passed along that some folks would prefer a 30 fps option.
@night rover The changelog mentions a fix in Rielle, but that DLC file didn't download any updated files. How is that change set up?

Both, but more so CTD, and yes I had no mods installed prior but my game was still crashing.
CTD has always been a thing with vanilla Skyrim.

I understand that these things take time and I am very grateful for the skse team. I am just curious about what potential struggles the team might be facing.

I think SKSE is updated, it shows v2.1.3 on the website, iirc it was v2.1.2 earlier. Im on mobile so I cant really check for sure.

Yes, but if you're running the mod "Engine Fixes" for some reason when you run SKSE it give you "SKSE/Trampoline.h(187): Failed to handle allocation request". Help?
Sorry, no idea. I never used the engine fixes mod.
Ok nvm I think I may have fixed it, just cutted out the EngineFixes.dll out and now the game runs.
Just uninstall Engine Fixes completely and wait for new version lol

The article about 0kb says "We are working towards a resolution and this will be resolved in an upcoming patch." Does that mean this week? Because as of last week The 0kb fix was mentioned as an upcoming patch.

so i might have ctrl-A on mod oraganizer and than disabled all my mods (that includes all creation club stuff) and now the game wont boot up and i cant find my creation club stuff anywhere. anyone know how to solve it?
Hi, I am playing Skyrim Anniversary Edition on the Xbox one S. Since the new Skyrim patch, I am finally able to back out of the mods page but now I cannot log back in to either the mods or creation club. I have tried logging in on other devices, which worked the first day, but not the next day. Is there plans in a future patch to help with this problem? The only way I could fix it, before the patch, was to uninstall and reinstall Skyrim and I would rather not do that again, if at all possible. Thank you in advance for any help or advice. = )

I did what they suggested which was, hook up my Xbox one S to the internet with an Ethernet cable and then take power away from the Xbox and Internet box and the problem somewhat fixed as in I could access it once and then every time after that I had to turn off the Xbox and turn it back on to access the mods again. I am leaving the Ethernet cable in from now on.

most graphics or non-skse mods still works. well skse got updated tho but better wait for stable AE version.

idk, the standard horses seems to die relatively fast by: join you in a fight and dying, killed by dragons, killed by bears or enemies when you exit a cave; rip your 1k gold

Potentially. There is a lot that can be done without custom scripts if you get creative with the existing systems.
You may want to check out my mod Well Tamed Horse. The horse always follows you (but the horse is quite far from you) and you can call the horse.

I had the opposite problem: I always wanted to send my horse home or back to the stables, but it just reappears whenever you fast travel anywhere, for the rest of your life (or its life). I tried my hand at a Dismiss Horses mod for PS4 some time ago, but never quite got it right.
(that was one of the main reasons I made Mirage - Summoned Mount)
It's an interesting point of view. If that's the behavior of the AI Package, it's possible to disconnect the owned horse from fast travel. But if not, I think it's a hard-coded mechanism for owned horses.
It's funny; I hadn't really thought about it until now, but with that mod, you could probably dismount your horse in a stable, then mount Mirage, and it would break the connection to the first horse.
I'm not sure if the first horse would stick around or go back to its original location, but it would probably still be considered "yours"...I guess I should test that sometime.
At least there is a condition called "IsPlayersLastRiddenMount", so the game remembers the last horse the player rode.

True, but I don't know if I want to require players to own that CC content (or 10th anniversary edition).
I've been able to play it. I ran into the 0KB bug (which was previously very rare on Skyrim, though frequent enough on Fallout 4), but since implementing the system I used for FO4, I've been fine. (that system is, rebuild database every four hours or so of gameplay, and make sure all AutoSave features are enabled and manually save often, so whenever you get the 0KB bug, you don't lose much).

I always save on a brand new file and after a while I go to my save content and delete every file but the last 3.Rinse,repeat.But on ps5 you cant manually delete files on bundle.You have to choose and delete a file separately.Which means deleting like 47 files one by one.On ps4 you could choose multiples so it was quick.On ps5 is an absolute chore
