btw at the modlist replace the enb with dawnfire enb
in ur installation folder go in:overwrite and then root and delete enbseries enbseries.ini and enblocal.ini and enbcache if u have now do what i do reinstall and then do what i do: 16:9 if u have normal monitor or laptop screen and if u have a ultrawide monitor select 21:9 now select these now install dawnfire enb and select main files or what starts with main and then put it in where we deleted enb series enbseries.ini and enblocal.ini and enbcache if u have now enjoyyyyyy

What program(s) do people use to make new armor?
Some blender, some 3ds max, a little substance painter or quixel mixer. Photoshop, Gimp, or something similar. Nifskope, outfit studio...I'm sure I'm missing some. There's a whole process.

Mods don't need SKSE to detect if the player is a werewolf.

Any good Save Cleaner tool mods you highly recommend I use to clean my corrupted saves? I'm at latest AE version on Steam. Just want to clean my saves with a save cleaner tool to hopefully fix scripts and CTD bugs. Please ping me if you have an answer in case I forget.
That would be considered unwise at best to use a save cleaner of any sort. CTDs and scripts cannot be fixed this way anyway, and you're actually more likely to end up with a corrupted save than you are a fixed one. The information in the save files has never been properly decoded so any such utilities messing with it are unsafe.

Is Dynamic Animation Replacer considered outdated? I had it unknowingly in my load order and it caused crashes left and right. After I disabled and uninstalled it, my game ran much, much smoother.
Bad practice to disable a mod mid-game, I know, but I haven't had any other crash since.
Hi, I'm new to modding skyrim se. Can somebody give me a hint on how to add custom attribute to all npcs and a player (I know that you can't edit hardcoded info or add new, ex. health attribute). I've seen somewhere that you can use invisible quests to store dynamic variables or properties inside. But how?
Yeah, use Open Animation Replacer instead.
Phew, problem solved. To add dynamic values to actors you can use PapyrusUtil.
This SKSE plugin (SKSE required) gives you better and safer control over values. Module called "StorageUtil" inside of the plugin itself contains functions needed to work with dynamic data. There are several pros about the plugin:
- Data is saved inside the save file.
- You can store any type of data (int, float, string, form).
- You don't need to change anything inside Skyrim itself to apply values to actors.
- It's easy to manipulate data throughout the game.
[CANNOT COMPILE PAPYRUSUTIL SCRIPT] To compile any scripts written using PapyrusUtil functions you need to copy all of the ".psc" files from the PapyrusUtil to "Data\Source\Scripts". To access those ".psc" files you can either use the "Open in Explorer" option through the mod manager or navigate plugin (PapyrusUtil) folder manually. You need to do that for Creation Kit to actually see them and use their functions.
[REQUIREMENTS] All requirements are listed on the nexusmods page under "Requirements" tab.
Notes: This is the knowledge I want to share to somebody who struggle with the same problems. I hope this can be helpful.

Quite a few, I think. Depends on what you're going for in terms of style, though; unless you're only focusing on stats. If you don't have one already you might want to get a mod to enable wearing circlets underneath hoods to expand your options in that regard.
Although that does change the game's balance slightly as you'd be able to wear 5 pieces of clothing/armor instead of the usual 4.

Well, up to you; I don't know your aesthetic preferences. When I last played a mage I'd usually either wear either the gray "apprentice" college robes with custom enchantments or say the archmage robes. If you don't mind the look of Miraak's robes those are also pretty good as they have the rare effect of spell absorption which stacks with other sources of spell absorption, increasing the chance to negate incoming spells.

In the end you can't really go wrong with whatever you pick. Skyrim's end-game you're usually stomping anything it throws at you.

Anyone know a mod that does trees good inside whiterun that works with capital whiterun expansion?
So I'm trying to find something in the Creation Kit, and I'm completely new to this.
Specifically, I'm trying to find the inventory that opens when you ask Alvor for supplies, in MQ102A (Season Unending, escaping with Hadvar).
I think I've found the dialogue in the Player Dialogue tab for the quest ID, but that's about as far as I've gotten.
Am I even looking in the right place for this?
My main goal is to add a specific item to said inventory.
Check and make sure you have extracted the papyrus script source files so that the CK is able to load them. Your window shows this:

Basically you are looking in the right place, but missing information due to the script source files still being in the archive that ships with the rest of the CK's files. At least, I assume that's the reason it's not showing up in yours.
That's really strange. I didn't know about the Papyrus script deal.
All I did was download the SSE CK from Steam, and launch it.
It came with a .zip that it asked to extract, which I allowed it to do.
Ah, I see. Yeah, there are some prepatory bits that need to be done post-install.
If the source files are already extracted then the path may not be set up right in the directory and/or ini file. One of the things I had to do was reverse the "Data\Source\Scripts" file structure back to the "Data\Scripts\Source" that it was originally in SLE that for some reason was changed during the program's switch to SSE.
After reversing the folders in the actual filesystem I then had to add/edit this bit in CreationKitCustom.ini:
sScriptSourceFolder = ".\Data\Scripts\Source"

No, it's a set of fixed items, similar to what Gerdur gives you when asking the same thing (if escaped with Ralof).

Regarding this, the relevant code is in the screenshot from mine I posted. It's opening the "gift" menu so that's what you'll likely be wanting to target for getting your item to appear in it.

I know it's been a few days, but I've figured out how to compile Papyrus scripts, and I now have access to them!
I've also found and installed all of the major post-installation fixes for the CK itself.
However, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing in regards to said scripts. I've dug up and down the CK and I can't figure out how and where to access the GiftMenu inventory for Alvor during MQ102A, in order to add the item(s) I have in mind.
Would you have any input on where to look for this? Is it something I have to access outside of the CK?
For example, I've managed to stumble this far...
I just can't seem to find the information, code, or whatever it is that contains the set of items he grants to you through the GiftMenu, when asking for supplies.
I've also scanned through his Actor information, and I can't seem to find anything in there, either.
He doesn't carry this stuff on himself/in his own actual inventory, I know that much at least. He only carries a house key and LootCitizenPocketsCommon.
I know the start of the script says GetOwningQuest().SetStage(47), and I thought that would be a clue.
So I checked Stage 47 for the MQ102A quest itself, but all it has is this.
Looking at the Advanced tab of the above Papyrus Fragment, it says Script Name: QF_MQ102_0002BF9C
So I checked the Scripts tab in the top right of that window, and double-clicked the Script with that name.
I see a Properties window appears, but I can't seem to interact with it.
And when I right-click and Edit Source, I see the entire script itself.
I'm seeing a lot of Fragment_* parts, including the ones pointed out in the dialogue scripts of my first screenshot, but nothing about the list of items offered in this gift menu.
There is also an MQ102QuestScript next to the QF_MQ102_0002BF9C, but it has significantly less in it, none of which seems to be what I'm looking for either.
Which makes me wonder... Is this stuff supposed to be in a LeveledItem list? I'm not seeing any references to one, I don't think. So I don't know which one it could even be.

So I'm experiencing a strange thing with Survival Mode in my modlist.
Whenever I walk into the cells BloatedMansGrottoExterior01 (-10, -9) or BloatedMansGrottoExterior02 (-10, -10), I get a message in the top left saying You do not feel hunger, exhaustion, or cold here.
And whenever I leave these cells, I get prompts saying I am Fed, Rested, and Comfortable.
Would anyone have an idea as to why this would be happening? Or where to check in xEdit or the CK? I've dug through both with my limited knowledge, and I can't seem to find anything.
I have this clip of it in action, if that helps.
My guess is due to the quest related to bloated mabs grotto and that triggers just always there
I have never tried survival, any recommendations of good mods that are better than the survival mode from AE?
I would recommend to use the vanilla survival mode with mods that improve upon it, instead of replacing it with another survival mode entirely.

The mod defaults to roll dodges rather than step dodges, I thought this could have been the problem at first so I went into the ini file to allow step dodges but when you are locked onto an enemy you step dodge in every direction other than forward where you are still defaulted to a forward roll dodge rather than a step or the intended run past animation that the mod provides so I could'nt see if that was the issue or not. Is the anyone who has gotten the mod to work that can help me out? apologies if this isnt the correct place to ask for help I also tried to leave a post on the mod page itself but i am not sure if I will get a response there so I wanted to try here.

Siding with Ralof seems like the only rational choice minutes after the imperials were about to kill you. First time I played I was like, what?? With Hadvar?? Uhhh, this must be a trick or something. Fool me once and all thatā¦.
Hadvar specifically actually seems to kinda care, ralof you're kinda just with until the tower after that hadvar at least tries to protect you up to the keep, you're separated from ralof almost immediately
Plus, I almost certainly ain't siding with the stormcloaks much in the grand scheme
But at that point in the game do you really know anything about the stormcloaks? Only thing you know is the imperials were about to cut your head off. For littleāif anyācause.
You know they're wanted by the empire, though personally I'd hadvar because he not only does his best to keep you safe he gets a kid to relative safety. I haven't done the intro properly in forever to remember specifics, the captains to blame for being put to the sword though. Also depends on if you're playing it as some random guy who knows nothing about the world or if you're playing as someone that actually has at least basic knowledge of current events before the cart.

I know it's bad practice to uninstall mods mid-playthrough, but can I uninstall Interesting Roads, Extended Encounters, and Hold Riders?
I've pinpointed them as the three most likely culprits to my carriage travel crashes as they add things to Skyrim's worldspace that for some reason, makes my game crash when I fast travel via any other means other than the vanilla fast travel. That is, through the carriages.
I made a new character without those mods and the crashes were gone, but I'm loathe to abandon my old character.
You can always try. Just keep a current save with them in it to go back to. Any that include scripts are likely to cause problems once removed though. Really only mesh/texture is safe to remove.

Not uncommon. Bethesda servers have problems regularly. Usually doesnāt hast too long though.

You should check your NAT type in connection settings, the higher the type (1-3) the more ārestrictedā your network is. Type 2 and 3 usually gives trouble connecting to beth net. You could also try sharing wifi via your phone

other stuff? If your connection is stable and fine i can only suggest resetting network settings and keep trying to log in. Servers are unstable sometimes. Also do you have a heavy load order? Images attached to the mods seem to increase loading time as well

I did that and what's isp? I've never had the issue before last month it's just all of a sudden started to play up and no clue why and Bethesda aren't doing anything to fix their issues at all

Hey guys just getting into skyrim modding. Downloaded the mod organizer and all other programs needed for the process. My only problem is there's so many mods to choose from on nexus and I'm aware that's not even half of all of them available (other mod sites/dedicated sites for massive mods). So would anyone be able to suggest where I even begin? Little overwhelming even just finding a place to start for my modded playthrough.

There's a bunch of follower framework mods. I use NFF (Nether's Follower Framework) but there's many other's and probably better/cleaner. I used to use others but that was so long ago, I don't remember their names.
I think there's like UFO, AFT, EFF? (might have them wrong as I don't even know/remember what they stand for. Also I used one or two of them in Oldrim)

Amazing in every way except one. The manor can get bogged down once you fill it with loot/displays and get super crashy. At least on Xbox series s that true and prob PC depending on your set up I guess. Only affects the manor.

Here is the Naga (made by Mihail), in playable format.
This race has a Humanoid Gameplay Style. They will be able to do most anything that the vanilla races can. Obvious exceptions would be wearing vanilla armor and having it show up on the model.
First person arms are included. Craftable sword and shield available to craft at any forge.

Visage only contains children textures for their faces and bodies, no meshes or other edits. Meaning whatever is making them appear that way is something else youāre using and I wouldnāt know what.
If they have no visual problems like the black face or rainbow face and are only lacking clothes, I would just use the reset NPC spell provided by Cheat Room. Or wait for them to respawn naturally.

So im having a body texture issue like its missing certain races. Only Khajit, Argonian, Dunmar and Nords have skin everyone else is purple.
Could this be a load out order issue or is it more likely a mod conflict since it was working before and the only thing new I installed was LOTD and its patches since then

I did look up the āsimple childrenā mod via Nexus as mentioned on the VISAGE page. If you ask me, the reason why it doesnāt work (for me, at least) is likely because itās very outdated.
What would being āoutdatedā do? Mods from 2012 work just as well today as ever. Assuming updated to form44 or whatever for SSE. Only thing some mods might need on occasion is an AE patch.
Well, one is that users report infinite loading on start screen, which thankfully isnāt a bug included in TXTECs bundle.

All I can say is I think they work but the change is incredibly subtle. If I hadnāt been testing I would not have noticed. Had to go back and forth between screenshots to notice a slight skin tone difference and slight diff color on the hair.
I think the main benefit of those mods seems to be increased optimization and such not really making a true appearance improvement.

It was almost merely my understanding alone that it does that.
Seeing that it adds in redone meshes and textures. Let alone it does say that mod is included. It seems that there are just mild alterations to it.

I downloaded 3 or 4 mods today no problem
I typically go offline to enable and move mods around and I did so
Then went back online to play/test and all was well
Then wanted to 'like' some mods but ctd when trying to get into my LO. Did this 3 times over the space of 30-40 minutes. It's been months since I went into my LO while online since it kept jumbling on me. No messages just 15 seconds after pressing Y the Xbox crashes. Never jumbled. I did wait for the Creations page to load fully every time. Any ideas?

Yeah and then I found the switch literally like an hour ago. Now Iām stumped for a new reason. Went to both forts (demented and manic) and retrieved their respective keys and staff halves but it doesnāt open the well grates nor do they open the main gate to the alter. Where are the other keys?

Bethesda.net accounts are used for all sorts of things, in addition to the Mods platform. It provides in-game profiles, allows you to track support tickets, contains any Bethesda.net games, et cetera.

Things are going to become a big mess if everyone starts doing that. No organization. Information will get lost in the middle of multiple conversations going on at once. Forums are far better for keeping things tidy.
I'll definitely direct bug reports to the Nexus, it has a great system for keeping track of them whereas they'll just get lost on discord
Indeed. The only reason I suggested here is cause a lot of people are too lazy to visit the nexus.
For a lot of authors that's going to be the only viable solution. It may not be that expensive for them to set up their own site somewhere, but it involves a lot of technical skill and is a huge time sink to keep things running smoothly.
I've thought about using GitHub for bug reports but that seems like it would probably be needlessly complicated

GitHub isn't really designed to make that work well for modding support. People have done it, but it's kind of a mess.
It is going to be a bit of a pain having to ask people to state which platform they're on
I have some pretty nice issue temples I use for finding bugs in WIP projects, but for released projects I don't think it has any advantage over Nexus with finished projects

It's rare for mods to allow you to build a house up from nothing, given all of the implementation work, but some authors allow you to customize some decorations, or even toggle entire rooms.
My house mod let you slot in rooms via a computer butler!
Aye I know there's a whole series of kids out there that let you build towns and things but they're not often as ornate as things like Elianoras

Not really, no. USSEP relies too closely on the distributed game files and the VR side was forked from before the CC first came in.

- No such thing as "mod of the week" or "most popular mods by month", the only mods you can realistically find are 1/ new ones (90% trash) and 2/ all time most popular (read: was released before SSE and/or made by an author with beta access)
- Category view is unhelpfully sorted by date uploaded (90% trash) on consoles, with no apparent way to reorder it by popularity

It works very well. Seamless integration into the vanilla game. Some mods needs patches but many include the survival key words already.
I think the best way to justify the price is to make the Creation Club a actual viable dlc type thing
yeah but i always end up preferring creation club alternatives to mods, survival mode is much more streamlined and integrates the best into the game imo, all the armour sets look like they could fit in skyrim which cannot be said about most modded armours

I've looked into overhauling other CC quests, but it seems most of them are good enough as-is or the artifacts tied to them to "too big".

yeah as for quests imo divine crusader is the only one thats truly appalling being wielded by just bandits haha, as creation club progressed they definitely improved in that regard

The main reason is that it's asking for more work to be done that we don't feel is necessary. The PS4 version is a severely hacked cut down of the greater work and it's not without problems to this day because people are still finding bits and pieces of things that shouldn't still be in there.

Check the base game files. That pelt is delivered in 4K by the game, but has an inverted normal map which is what we fixed at the same resolution.
So it's not unnecessary since it's fixing the issue at hand. It would not be a bug fix to reduce that file at the same time.

Other people have found things floating around in the archive before that we didn't notice were already addressed in the SE base files and those did get removed in the last 2 updates we had.

I heard that ~270 MB of USSEP is texture/mesh fixes, is that true? I think that textures are largely a taste thing, unless they actuality mess with gameplay somehow. If so much space is spent on textures that people overwrite anyway with mods that appeal to their taste, why put them in a bug fix mod?

Which is why most of my texture mods are 1k.
And that's fine. Even on PC it's pretty overkill to have 4K everything.
But if the devs ship a file in 4K and we find an issue with it, it's getting fixed in 4K.
The best case solution here would be for such issues to get corrected at their level so we can then remove our fix.

To answer the question though - currently textures take up 204MB in total. That archive is compressed during upload but I don't know how much the CK actually compresses it.
All of the mesh fixes take up an additional 267MB on disk, and again, I don't know for sure how much (or even if) the CK compresses that archive on upload.
Size is listed as 365MB on the mod site so I'd say it's at least decent compression.
If it is 270 of texture/mesh fixes separating those out would bring the mod to under 100. Considering most of the textures/meshes likely get overwritten with other mods anyway, that would be a significant savings that many people would appreciate.

Plus I think you'd find that most of the mods you're talking about don't overwrite nearly as much as people claim.
Looking at a lot of people's LOs though, most people spend a lot of mod space on mesh/textures. I imagine with all the mods people usually use, most of the changes get overwritten, but I don't really have a way to know for sure.
Nobody does unless there's a PC equivalent of the mod to look at. But that doesn't guarantee those ports are 1:1 either.
CK does compress the textures archive but it does not compress the meshes archive. I usually use archive.exe to pack and compress both archives. Compress the meshes archive usually saves a decent amount space but not all meshes can be compressed but it seems you never really if that is the case until you try it haha
if you use bsarch, it automatically does what's best for the contents of the package.

Well the big problem here is that you can't initiate an upload to bnet with a set of prebuilt archives because it will lock up and consume all the RAM on the system if you don't stop it. So you're left with what the CK thinks is best.
If you place the archives in the Xbox folder first, it will just use them when you them when you go to upload in CK and wonāt freeze up. Thatās how I do pretty much all my uploads
I've tried that, it still freezes up.
It's not an overly big deal anymore since I can get Wrye Bash to generate achlist files for the CK to use as a list.
What if you have a lot of RAM. I have 256gb. Iād like to see how much CK can use.

The amount of RAM in the system does have an impact on larger uploads because while its gathering up filenames, it eats a bunch, and if you run out it crashes. That memory is immediately released again if it can finish that task.

Not personally, no, but there are hundreds (probably thousands) who swear by it in every corner of the net you can think of where mods get discussed. A few random people on reddit who think otherwise are not reliable sources.
@candid flume as we have already discussed I have never had any problems with USSEP besides wishing it were smaller.

Making it smaller would be great for me too because then it's not as much to upload each time. My crap upload speed would love it.

All that would do is shift the duty of uploading it to someone else. It's not going to change the size of the package.
Alternatively, if you played oldrim or vanilla you can learn workarounds for most of the bugs and save yourself all the space š

Never said it didn't fix bugs, but 98% of those bugs can be worked around and save you 400 mbs of space on console

A "patch" does not need to be something only the company distributes. Every major modding community out there has one that's referred to as either an unofficial patch or a community patch.
