That entire quest could use an overhaul IMO, not necessarily in taking away the ambiguity and announcing a clear good or bad side, but in the way the options are presented for handling. I feel like there should have been more options, or at least more opportunity to research in the game the backstory, before ending the quest. Me, realistically, you're the new thing of Whiterun and some foreign mercenaries, who have already been spanked by the guards for hassling innocent people out on the roads, want to take one of your people a way to answer for an alleged crime, you're going to march them all before the Jarl and let him make the decision.

Good morning the way I play it in my head, it's less about the Jarl solving the problem and more about not overstepping into the Jarl's lane. This is the kind of thing that a leader would likely be furious about being kept out of. Have to remember, she's been serving at the Bannered Mare for a while now, and Balgruuf eats and drinks there.

I have a problem with this mod, my heavy armor Stat doesn't gain exp in combat while I have heavy armor on when using this race. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

This race has a Humanoid Gameplay Style. They will be able to do most anything that the vanilla races can. Obvious exceptions would be wearing vanilla armor and having it show up on the model.
First person arms are included. Craftable sword and shield available to craft at any forge.

ConjurationMod and ConjurationPowerMod are Actor Values and there is a fixed amount of those; see the linked page for the list and related info. The effects on Enchantment Forms and Potion Forms are Magic Effect Forms and you can make as many new Magic Effect forms as you like, though with some limits on various parameters. If you get creative enough, though, you can usually combine various things to create new kinds of effects that don't normally exist in the game - a type of emergent design. Whether you will or won't end up needing SKSE depends entirely on what you're doing or intending to do and your desire/creativity to try and create workarounds without it or not.
I wanted to make a Conjuration effect that would operate similarly to the IllusionPowerMod effect, where it increases the magnitude of conjuring spells, and specifically I imagine would raise the level of the effects of things like Banish or Raise Dead, such that higher level targets could be affected with enough magnitude of this effect.
I was making a mod swapping all the alchemy and enchanting Fortify effects for magic, but I found the alchemy effect to be lacking and wanted to expand it.

I really enjoy lichdom mods on Skyrim...the best once to play with is path of transcendence.
Even undeath gives that more phalctary, lore, ritual site, and a floating horror lich form, it needs more work....like a fix.....a perk tree needs to be made for it that mirrors classical lichdom perks since it can't be ported to Xbox or other consoles.
Next Undeath immersive lichdom SSE is broken....my lich barrier seems to be stacking...
Now path of transcendence is more light weight and it's short...but I don't like how you have to use a trinket for a phalctary....also the spells for them suck....some missing texture, you have to find them by killing a bunch of necromancer, etc.
Although it gives the lore of a lich consuming a soul gem, you have to eat a black soul gem to cheat death and boom ya back. I like how it gives a double health system but then it just gets rid of the part where you die and you resurrect at your phalctary....
Btw...did you know a lich can eat a soul and gain the essence of that soul? That's the real true power of a lich right there........I like both mods they just need more adjustments.

Thoughts on this? I am making a mod that adds 6 small hamlets to skyrim, I intend to add small low level quests like helping a farmer clear rocks from his wheat field, or help an old man be escorted to his local shrine/monument.
Love it. I have a whole bunch of your hamlets and, pretty much anything that wasn't already another expansion occupying the space, and I love them. Would be great to see some quests here and there.
Ive realized one ive made too many quests in my mods be always about Thanes and often involve crisises everywhere. Which imo is kinda silly if everywhere needs help constantly.
True. I don't know how you are with scripting, but maybe you could make something that requires just a little more than the average pair of hands, but not a world ending emergency. For example, the farmer that needs rocks or rock cleared out of his garden, maybe it's too big and would take forever by pickaxe, but hit it with frost and fire, back and forth, and it cracks into small pieces that can just be picked up and thrown in a wheelbarrow, or something along those lines.
Sadly outside my scripting abilities, im also constrained for time irl so I cant go for too complex with coding

As for thoughts on those small quests you talked about, I think they are fine. Sounds like a nice detour away from dungeon delving or fighting to me.
I kept writing more complex quests, then realized those quests will never be completed at most i can make small quests with at most 2 paths, with 2 to 3 characters

If you opt for the sapling instead of the sap in the associated quest it causes it to slowly grow over a period of in-game months (6, I think it was?), eventually becoming the full healthy tree (the same one you get if you had chosen the sap instead).

@wooden carbon hello, I purchased and installed your A Secret Beneath The Ice mod for Skyrim. I had to search online to get started as I saw nothing in the arcaneum related to the mod. I discovered there should be a book on the table but it was not there for me, dispite reinstalling and waiting in game days. I then went to one of the locations to find it had installed, however the npc's had no bodies and equipping a piece of the new armor set removes my players body. Do you have any recommendations for me?
Hi! That does sound like the installation didn’t work, but strange since you’ve already tried reinstalling. Hm - I haven’t heard of anyone else encountering this issue. Do you play on PC or Xbox?
It also sounds like the custom meshes didn’t load in for some reason (the book pile that starts the quest is also a custom mesh).

I don’t think that the achievement enabling mod would cause any conflicts. Can you double check in Vortex that both archives for ”A Secret Beneath the Ice” are enabled, and not just the plugin (the esp)?
Why does lordbound keep resetting on mod organizer. So close to the end only for it to disappear and having to redownload it again

Most likely because MO2's download manager is a bare-minimum one that you realistically shouldn't use and download mods via a browser or a dedicated download manager like JDownloader instead. The one that MO2 has is basically something you only want to use if you absolutely had no other option.

Trying to get a script to work with the Creation Kit. My friend Echo just helped me realize I had to unpack TESV_Papyrus_Flags.flg from a zipped folder inside of the Skyrim folder. I think it's sorted now. I've just started trying to create mods with Skyrim. Coming from making mods for Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

It's a separate Creation Kit, for SE (than LE). IIRC, the LE version was under the TOOLS tab, in your steam library, while the SE version is under the SOFTWARE tab.
Stupid question of the day, has the preator mod been updated resently at all? Or fixed some of its bug issues? I know its and older mod.
Where do I need to place the TESV_Papyrus_Flags.flg file exactly? Are there any other files you recommend taking out of the zip? I was still getting that error. Also, when I tried to save the Quest the Creation Kit auto closed and didn't allow me to save the Quest properly. When I reopened the mod, the Quest wasn't saved. Is there a way to avoid this error? Is it a similar bug to the audio bug with the older GECK where it crashes if it doesn't detect a mic?
Put the flags file on the root of your Data\Scripts\Source or whatever one of your import folders might be.
That Anniversary Edition really made things rough for modders.
Being that modding is such a huge part of the DNA of Bethesda games, I suggest you implement a way so that any further game updates like this to future titles, like the new Elder Scrolls, won't jeopardize existing mods or mods created using the current GECK or Creation Engine. This also applies to the internal modding system, Creations. The Creations system needs a major overhaul if it is going to be a viable successor to MO2 or Vortex for your games as well. Understand that the Creations system also could negate Nexus in a way, as your games are a serious resource for modding in my opinion. They all don't seem to play well with eachother, and it would be nice to see some kind of collaboration and seamless integration with the systems so they aren't butting heads so much.

I'm noticing modders are claiming they are having to restructure their mods around the Anniversary Edition, and I am also having to find a work around myself to the Creation Kit that comes with the standard Skyrim Edition to compensate for the changes just so that it can function properly with the new updates given any new mod created, as per new script extenders that also needed to be created. This also applies to other mods. Some of them were easy enough to correct. For example, if they were flagged, all I had to do was load them into the Creation kit with the AE update and save them to clear the flag, basically updateing the mod for them. AE only adds the creation club creations. So they are basically having mod conflicts? Seems like most mods that conflict that I’ve seen can make a patch.
I'm not sure the extent of it, and I'm just theorizing and making suggestions to future protocols.

I moved this file, TESV_Papyrus_Flags.flg, to the Data>Scripts>Source Folder, but the Creation kit still is failing to compile newly created scripts, claiming it's due to this file. Any suggestions?

I wish I had answers for you. Unfortunately, this is something with which I'm not familiar. In my experience, when I have installed or reinstalled creation kit, it has prompted me to extract the archive of scripts, and it has done so for me, so I've never paid any attention to where it puts them. If all else fails, you might try to let it reinstall ck, and see if it gives you the prompt.

How can you view the esp names of deleted/disabled mods on Xbox, post ‘23 update? I’m told a couple of methods that involve going offline and so on after deleting a mod. Thing is, because of the ‘23 update it merely just shows the mod name, not the direct file name. The point in why I need to figure out the file names is because I’m trying to make a comp patch. Does anybody know of the correct method

Who here is good at writing scripts and wants to help me put together one to add a confirm to take all prompt for a mod? Would it be best to add it to a Player Reference Alias in the Quest? I just need the script. I'll give you credit. I think I have everything else in place for the mod. I'm not sure if it will need other scripting to incorporate MCM, SKSE, or Quick Loot mods though, but I would greatly appreciate that endeavor.
Adding something like a take all confirmation prompt for all containers is not straightforward. I think this would need a pretty advanced hack.
Why do you need this feature? Is it for just a general quality of life improvement or do you need this to work on a specific container for a specific purpose?
A qol mod I want to make. Would there be no way to tie it to the player, so that when they initiate any container it procs? I accidentally hit the take all key a lot. Sometimes, it can be very frustrating. Like when taking a million items out of a storage container for crafting 🤣 Quick save for the win.
The user interface is kind of a black box. Sure, we can detect when the player activates an object in the game world through the onactivate event. SKSE even has some events for detecting when a menu opens or closes. But once the UI pops open, there is no further feedback to indicate which button is pressed.
I haven't pried into the details but I would assume you would need to hack the existing container menus to add in additional model dialog.
The user interface files are powered by Adobe Flash, the same thing those early 2000s browser games were made from.
Also, this request sounds really familiar. An author might have already created something like this.

You said it would be a good learning experience. Are you saying that this is something you want to dive into. It's very technical work, needs a lot of tools that are hard to acquire, and extremely obscure when it comes to documentation, which is pretty much non-existent.

It is. If I only ever make one mod for Skyrim this will be it.
It's awesome that it will also teach me many other ways to create mods within the Creation kit as well.
I've made mods for Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and just started diving into Skyrim.
Surprisingly, it's not as much creation kit work as you might be thinking. The first step I'd recommend is to acquire Adobe Flash CS6. Adobe Flash was rebranded to Adobe Animate after they killed off web plug-in support. Along with killing off browser support for Flash, they also completely discontinued Actionscript 2.0 which Skyrim relies on. All versions of Adobe Flash after CS6 have had actionscript 2.0 functionality ripped out. Adobe/cs6 is the only usable version for Skyrim.

This is a very old decompiled repository of the Skyrim user interface files. These files are utterly ancient and stale as I believe the vanilla UI has been updated many times since the original decompilation.
But browsing this repository will give you some idea of what to expect as far as the files you will be working with.
I would recommend to re-decompile the latest versions of the menus using a tool called FFDec.
If you're on PC, try CD Cooleys Better Container Controls. Much much easier. Also has carryable containers and several other really nice QOLs

Hey, vía a magic effect papyrus script (with the usual po3/extended extensions) is there a definite way to get hostiles to stop combat against the player?
I’m using a modified pacify spell + script that is setting the setav aggression/assistance stuff, changing relationship rank with player & even adding the to the enemies to the potential follower faction, stopping combat & combat alarms. In the end though if one of their faction (bandits on my test) start combat again they resume hostilities after the spell wears off. Is there a way to ensure they stop?

Go into Data > Scripts (assuming there is a loose script folder) and see if it's there. If it is, try re-extracting the script from SkyUI and place it into the folder, let it overwrite what's already there. You may or may not get a similar warning from the other mod, then, but cross that bridge when you get to it. Hopefully that one is less picky than this one. It's also possible two different mods have it included in their .bsa instead, in which case you might swap them in your load order (if you can) or extract the loose script from SkyUI and create your scripts folder. Nothing wrong with having a loose script to ensure it wins over the .bsa stuff.
Right on the money Aardvark Chips. It led me to the Just Do It mod, the one that lets me use items without having to first place them in the inventory. I wasn't aware I could use MO2 that way. Thank you again for all your help. I just deleted that pex file from the Just Do It mod specifically and it cleared the flag. I'll test out if it messes with the Just Do It mod or anything else in game.

For example, on level up if I am wearing the Nahkriin mask it will give me a +50 boost, this will make the Magicka be marked in blue. I sometimes forget the original value it was without the bonuses applied, so having them also displayed somewhere around the blue number would be great to help point allocation strategy. Maybe just have the original value and a blue plus with the number multiplier, or green plus the number multiplier for stamina etc, etc.

Unless you're playing the 32-bit legendary edition, there are no mods on steam. Skyrim special edition mods come from either the in-game Creations menu, or bethesda.net, nexusmods.com, AFK mods, or another mod hosting platform.

Hello everyone, I'm in need of some help here. I'm a beginner when it comes to modding and I'm trying to make a mod that adds warmth to beverages and a tiny amount of restore cold to them. However, no matter the magnitude I set in CK, in-game it's always 23. For example, I added 15 restore cold to Nord mead, but every time I use it, it restores 23 cold instead. I don't understand how this is calculated, I tested the vanilla hot soup and it seems it also restores the incorrect amount.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
Do you have the physician and benefactor perks, in the Alchemy tree, by chance? They should add 25% each to certain potions. Rounding up half of 15 would be eight, so that would count for 23 if it's adding 50% strength.
No I don't have them. Restore cold is just weird as hell. Doesn't matter what's the magnitude it always restores 23 instead. I'm basing this off of health points of course. I tested on a character with 100hp and exposed myself to cold until I had 50hp, it didn't matter if the cold restoration was 15 or 200 it was always restoring my health to 73hp. I don't understand what's the matter here and how the cold is being calculated, but with 100hp you would think 200 cold restoration would be more than enough to fully restore it, which isn't the case even for the vanilla food.
I just went to CK right now and put 1000 restore cold to a potion of resist cold just to see what would happen. It seems like this effect is always set to affect 23% of your health no matter the magnitude. Which is a shame and I have no idea how to change this, but it seems I'll just have to change the description of my potions to 200 cold restoration to match the hot soup description and leave it at that.
The global variable that the cold script uses has a value of 200. You'd have to create a new cold magic effect, a new global with the 1000 value (or whatever value you intend to use), and then attach the script to the new magic effect and fill in the property with your new global. (Unknown if it would work -- might be more to it than that because perks and all -- but you could try it and see.)
Thank you for the explanation, this is actually what I was looking for, a path for me to follow because I was lost. For now I'll just leave the value as it is and just match the item descriptions until I look more into what you've said and figure out a way to make it work. If it ends up being script heavy and risk causing crashes I'll just leave them on the original value. But I'll definitely try what you've said, thanks again.
There's no such thing as 'script heavy'. There is such a thing as poor implementation of scripts and poor memory management of the papyrus VM, though. Script heavy doesn't make any sense as a phrase since the game uses over 15k scripts to even work.
The Papyrus VM is also very robust and isn't likely to be why your game crashes even with a poorly written script.

It was actually quite simple and scripting aside it's already done, I just wanted to add fortify warmth to beverages, tweak hot food a little, properly distribute them and the Hearthfire food among innkeepers and add restore cold to resist cold potions. I already did everything but I only got stuck because I wanted the restore cold effect to match the percentage of the potion.

On Xbox (Series X), if I go to Load Order, and press the button to do Load Order Archive, it does nothing. I've even cleared reserve space, and uninstalled and reinstalled the game entirely, then downloaded a mod and tried again, but no luck.

Unfortunately it might be an issue specifically with your beth.net account. You might have to try clearing your entire library on the website and re-adding your mods to it
I use it all the time on Xbox and it works fine. A lot of people had issues when it was first introduced (myself included) but since the most recent version its been a lot more stable and consistent

Bethesda servers have always had regular connection issues. To your point though maybe worse during the FO4 release. No idea if they use the same servers or not.

I would recommend never accessing your load order while online. Quit game. Go to Xbox setting and go offline. Then restart game. Then creations and select yes when it asks if you want to modify your load order offline . Find the mod you want to delete and delete it. Hard reset. Good to go.

Going offline also fixes the random load order reshuffling that has been a thing since the Dec 2023 update debacle
Is that why sometimes when the game crashes like half my mods on the load order are just disabled so I have to go in and reenable them which forces a restart again
Not sure why your game is crashing. But accessing your LO online seems to trigger the reshuffling. Never view your LO unless offline works for me.

Hey how does one install mods on PC Skyrim? Im only familiar with modding on the xbox
Mod manager recommended. But can be done manually by dropping the correct files into the data folder. Vortex and mod organizer 2 are both very popular mod managers, and I'm told that wrye bash has that ability also, but I don't know how it works for mod management. I do use it for creating bashed patches, and it is much easier for activating and deactivating mods. I would look on YouTube for a gamer poets video on setting up and using either Vortex or mod organizer too, though. I still use manual, because I'm kind of Trapped into it by the mess of a data folder that I have made over years of manually modding.
The short story is you download a mod from some place like Nexus or AFK mods, and it will usually be in a WinRAR or 7zip archive. Your mod managers are able to handle the archive itself, where for manual you would need to extract it and install the ESP, any BSA or additional files, and often have to choose from one of several options, another thing the mod manager makes easier.
Is it not as difficult as downloading and installing Daggerfall unity mods? Because I did that a bit and it wasn't too difficult.
And I know DFU doesn't have any kind of automatic mod installer
First I'd look into the modding linked guides, they have one for skyrim called dragonborns fate. Then once you have a handle on that and are looking to customize your own list more I'd read through the tomes of xedit. With those 2 you'll be setup with all the major knowledge you could need for bethesda game modding on pc
Also, how on earth do I actually install Mod manager 2? The Nexus page is very confusing will all the requirements and stuff

For the v++ Redistributables your fine but a clean install of the game to be sure its in the folders it recommends is probably a good idea

Nah nobodies too stupid for it, just requires some perseverance. When I started I made every mistake in the book, a few years down the road and I'm modding games left and right, building my own pcs, and now trying to help others like yourself avoid making those mistakes I made

It can be, but that also is why most people's modded games break or have lots of bugs. Adding one mod sure just drag and drop, but then even just removing that one is a pain. Adding anymore than that and a properly setup mod manager like mo2 becomes a neccessity to avoid or fix issues
Now if you don't want to deal with the hassle of learning to mod, their are wabbajack lists that install a fully setup modlist and mod manager made by somebody else and you can play that. But theres only so many lists out there, like 40 for skyrim I believe. And if you don't like parts they changed and want to add or remove mods you are in a worse situation since you don't know the basics

That's where dragonborns fate will be a great help, it will help teach you the right way to install mods and it'll get your skyrim to the point where adding future mods is a breeze too since you'll have the basics setup already. Their guide for new vegas, viva new vegas, is so popular and works so well that many mod authors first question if you're having issues is are you running viva new vegas, if not they tell you to.

on xbox there seems to be a problem with the update the file size on the website is 31mb but in the store it is the old filesize 6mb,im not sure if the pc version has the problem yet.if you want to know if you have the latest version check the file size

Not off the top of my head, but there are mods that will change the angle and also some that will let you wear a lantern instead.
I figured it out, it was USMP. there is an optional mod to revert back to the vanilla torch mesh.
Why would USMP tilt the torch like that?
I was just curious about what USMP was, but after spending a few minutes reading it, I saw that it includes the "Proper Torch Wield - Hold your torch away from your face" fix.
USMP has a "Vanilla Torch Mesh" optional file that says: "This is simply a loose copy of the vanilla torch mesh for those who don't like the one included in USMP.Simply extract it and let it over-ride the one in the archive."

The best I can offer is an possible explanation, unfortunately. Bookshelf displays often have a collision cube placed underneath the dummy book markers that get filled with actual books in-game. I'm sure it might be collision placement by a dev that simply isn't ideal.
I don't know if there's a mod that specifically addresses this, unfortunately. Maybe, maybe not, I wish I knew.

Does it look like the shelf is flush with the floor or possibly slightly sunken? If there is any wiggle room, you might be able to use Jaxonz Positioner or CD Cooley's Decorator Helper to raise it a tiny bit. Or the vanilla console x, y, z commands. See the uesp console page for that.

Check your load order to see if something has messed up the Object Bounds on the books. The bookshelf script takes that data into account in some way.
Something other than USSEP that is, since USSEP corrected that data for every vanilla book.
uhhh right, I think something might be perma-broken, because I disabled absolutely every mod except USSEP and its still there
what was the root cause of the bug?
The Object Bounds data on BOOK records in the game were mostly set to 0 which would cause books to behave improperly when the copies were spawned onto the shelves.
If what you're getting isn't a records issue, you might have either a book script or book mesh mod with leftovers in your folders.
That was what I was thinking as I do have a book cover texture mod, as well as a book "hold shift to take instead of read" mod, but after disabling those as well as every other mod it's still there, taking the books out and putting them back in didn't help either
If you did all that on an existing save, it won't necessarily take since that data could be baked in. Plus it's never a good idea to remove mods mid-game like that.

Bookshelves have several components that aren't visible while playing. It would be easiest to just go to a vanilla house.
That can be made easier through the use of an alternate start mod that allows you to take ownership of one of them right away.

Hello, I just got special edition on Steam, I am trying to get a mod that I had on Xbox, Amazing Follower Tweaks, but all I can find are plug ins for it by Allie1718. They all reference the actual mod, but when I copy and paste the URL, it actually takes me to the fallout 4 page on Bethesda website. I would like to contact this Allie1718, but there does not seem to be a way to do so on the Bethesda website. Can anyone help here?
This one also has the upgrayDD package, which increases active limit to 7 and doubles your follower tracking. I currently is this version, but as with all AFT, I encourage use of Simple NPC outfit manager alongside it. Also My Home Is Your Home 2+ works nicely with it, more options than "dismiss & hang out here" and persists even if you reset the NPC (remove them from AFT entirely)
Okay, and would there be potential issues with using a mod from nexus mods alongside a bunch of mods from Bethesda.net?
I've never downloaded a PC mod from Bethesda, so I can't speak toward the installation process there, but your mod manager will handle all of your mods, no matter where you got them. Whether you use MO2, Vortex, or Wrye Bash for it, there are tutorisls on YouTube that will help. Just avoid manual install if you can. Makes a huge mess of the data folder and harder to remove/update loose file mods.
Depending on how complicated your chosen mods are, this can bd a lot of work and learning a lot of new tools, but you'll have a level of control over your game you've never had before.

My mod should be simple, a Follower orc who’s essential
Armour gives him 100% magic resistance and his Mace gives him chaos damage and fear.
A few, low level stuff, mostly sandbox guards and retextures the occasional house or spell mod.

I have a couple guard mods up on Bethesda.net for console, but I don't think I put the pc versions up. I'll try to make some time to do that this weekend. They're town guards, but the only real difference, aside from their skills and equipment, will be changing their factions, AI packages, and where you drag and drop them.

I wonder if someone can Patch Arthmoors villages. I LOVE the mod however Oakwood has a tiny issue with all the towns residents dying cuz of the random levelled enemy spawn at lake view. The whole town dies every playthrough lmao
I solved that by dropping a bunch of constables and patrollers there. The little intersection in front of the Inn looks like Fayetteville now.
My solution for the problem with towns residents always dying due to monsters, dragons, vampires etc was to make a patch for the NPCs and flag them as protected. I used this mod as a base and expanded on it but using simple actor records and not Reference Aliases:

Compatibility between the mods will depend on when Diverse Dragons expects to start doing its thing. In vanilla if you haven't completed the Dragon Rising quest, dragons won't spawn.

There are so many versions, many of them made by nordwar but released by different authors, and some of which include some of the others. I would suggest taking a look at each and then you will probably end up mix-matching. On the newer, self-released side of things, though, I would definitely suggest the plate armors, which include that brigandine and the corrazina, as well as Sons of Skyrim.

try setting skyrim to windowed fullscreen in the launcher then change the name of the launcher to something else and set the script extender’s name to the launcher’s original name, idk if it’ll work for you but it worked for me with lowering the game’s resolution

Oh, I just noticed the Markarth banners in Understone Keep look like Jorvaskr/Companions banners. MarkarthBanner01.
Ah, here's the problem. The CityBannerMarkarthTower thing had a texture difuse of Architecture\Markarth\MrkBanner01.dds and the Normal texture file is Clutter\GenericBanner01.dds. So what I did is copied the texture file as overide into an ESP light folder, then replaced the Normal texture file with Architexture\Markarth\MrkBanner01_n.dds.
So I have a question. Can't find which creation I have adds this let alone how to get them but I have a bought creation that adds the crafting items "Mehtul" and "stone bits" and Can't figure out how to get them. I saw I can craft some mehtul at a forge but requires the "bits" and don't know how to get them. Any help?

@marsh tide can u tell me what mods are required for your Hammerfell quests bundle on xbox I know gray cowl is but there’s og and 10th anniversary and the anniversary one disables Hammerfell because it says it’s missing files
Haven't ported them myself unfortunately, but from my understanding the Xbox version of Grey Cowl has a different name, so my mods will always return that you are missing files
Some ported mods have been modified to work with the og but won't work with the 10 years edition, and the ones that haven't will only work with the 10 years edition
That feels very confusing and frustrating but it’s probably a question for willowisp the porter or even gg7 who did the 10th anniversary

I don't know much about xbox. While in game, are you able to click an item to see its number, then compare the 2 digit prefix against your load order to see which mod?

No. You're think about console not "consoles".
I'm asking you if while playing on your console (device) you have an ability to access the game's console to ascertain ID numbers or use console commands. If not, Debug menu will allow console users to execute certain console commands, like pc users can. But I don't know if it includes the ability to click am item to get is number or not.

If the player drops an item onto the ground then targets it with the object targeting power it will display the object's BaseID and RefID in a popup messagebox.
That mod is designed to be a debugging tool that, among other things, approximates the console commands present on PC to allow xbox players to debug their games more easily and with the existing steps documented for PC users to follow.
I presume Aardvark was mentioning it to you as a possible way to identify the creation you were looking for as by acquiring the object's BaseID you can determine what creation it belongs to as the BaseID contains the Mod Index value denoting the plugin's position in your load order.
what are some good modlists to run with anniversary edition on gog?
This doesn't seem to be able to find the FormID anyway for either item. Seeing as I don't know how to obtain either it doesn't seem this mod will help me. Only way to see these items are through the forge and smelter. As the armor needs Mehtull and the smelter shows I get it by smelting a Kettle and "55 Stone Chips". None of those new items the Debug Menu can find FormIDs for.

One thought I have, based on the item's name having "Mehtul" as a phonetic variant of "metal" written in such a way that may be intended to imply the in-world creator is more primitive, do you perhaps have a mod installed relating to orcs, goblins, reiklings, etk as a possible source?
If you have an in-game screenshot of the armor in the recipe menu it may also be possible to find the source via a reverse image lookup on google, as another thought.

I just think I figured it out. If so then the mod author did a TERRIBLE naming job. I think it's part of the Fallen Heros: Death Knight Pack. The helms are different base items with a gray texture in the forge and the chest are Dawnguard or Steel pieces with the Boots as Iron Meshes. Not gauntlets/gloves. But that pack only adds 4 heavy metal armors. However the textures are so different with actual gloves I think that's what threw me off. 🤦♂️🙄😒

I don't think that creation is the right one. The description mentions the items being crafted out of something called "Necrotite".
I have those books but only one that adds armor I can find besides the Light armor creation or the Dark and Light Paladin and neither seem to match the mod either.
Besides as was stated this mod only adds the 1 heavy armor set with no shield or weapons. No light armor variant either.
Unfortunately some mods add things like that without mentioning them which makes it harder to troubleshoot based on the descriptions.

I've managed to get working scotchlite and reflexite into Skyrim. I'm not above making the DB wear high vis safety vests, while they're assassinating.

Is there any discernible pattern to when the ctd occurs? Like near certain points, outdoors while exploring, etc? I'm wondering if one of the random encounters has an issue. Not familiar with xbox. Is there any means of adjusting mod settings like the MCM on PC? If so, maybe adjust your encounters to super frequent and almost never, and see if ctd frequency changes?
Most random encounter mods seem to cause occasional crashes especially on Xbox one. Less so on series s/x.

For xbox I'm not sure. For PC you can turn off individual encounter types in the MCM.
The Xbox mod description might leave some details out depending on which one you are using (a few over the years have been ported). Check the nexus description for all the info you need.
I can't remember if it's extended encounters or immrrsive encounters but one of them had some issues with housecarls escorting prisoners.

Wilderness areas can also push vram due to tree/grass mods. So could be more the combo of all those that is the real problem. But encounters also push vram.

Understood. It’s often a combo of mods thing not a single mod problem. You would need to test the encounter mod by itself to know it is the problem.
I have that issue on my Switch 2, it'll just randomly crash for no reason and the only "mod" I have is what came in the game the Creation Club.
I hope Bethesda can make an update that can fix it.
I'm suggesting you read the info and comments on the mod page, to see if any PC players are experiencing similar issues. That's all.

It means you've reached the max storage limit which is allowed for save files. You'll simply need to delete some old ones, and the changes will be automatically synced with your Xbox cloud profile.

What's up with changes to Bnet mod descriptions recently? The formatting has changed, in both good and bad ways. The Filters seem to actually work, yay! But the borders of text in mod descriptions has changed, narrowed. So for example links to perms are broken when viewed on PC since they are truncated, no longer can your copy/paste links cuz the new format broke them. See pic. But they still work on mobile. (?!) No idea where to post this. Any advice/direction very welcome.

From what I have seen, those are the only two that directly edit the appearances of Elves.
Question if anyone from Bethesda could answer it. If/when we get the 100GB mod space on Fallout 4, is it possible we get the same on Skyrim? The 5GB we have as is goes a lot further but we can only cram so much, also it would open up the gates to actually wanting to use credits to buy "paid mods", we can't even get a size preview on the files before we buy as is which is a big deterrent for me (with less than 100mb of free space in my mods as is).

Guys I’ve played on and off since release. Ive started playing again and decided that I want to do a play through with some mods for the first time. I have 0 experience and am completed confused about what’s going on, I’ve followed a yt video with some mods and have also added my own in the mix, next time I get on can I send my load order so you guys can tell me if it will work or what’s in the wrong place and what not lol
It came with the High Resolution Texture Pack. Lots of mod authors have been having to update mods. I think this particular Creation Club asset took a hit as well, or it was always buggy. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any conflicting mods that cause this bug. I read that someone moved specific Creation Club: ccotmfo4001-remnants files into a certain file to correct it, but I'm not sure what they were talking about. Maybe Bethesda made a mistake with where they put the file pertaining to its load order. Just realized this was the Skyrim chat, my mistake.

Here is a typical load order for the older game's. This one was given to me by another modder for TTW. They can be slightly different for newer titles such as Skyrim, so hold on while I try to find those pictures and get you caught up on proper load order there too.
Usually, console will sort it out for you, but organizing it will helpl the system.
Here's an example of a load order I'm using with Skyrim atm. I found it interesting how the weather mods needed to go at the bottom, but if playing on console the system forces them to load first. It's kind of backwards on pc though.

One thing to be aware of, I found other titles had Armor/Weapons/Magic go below the Gameplay/Crafting/Alchemy/Cooking/Overhaul tabs. If you find it acting funny switch those. Even though I have them in separate tabs, they still are technically among the same load order groups. It's just better organized that way. Here is an example of that with my Fallout 4 Load Order, which acts buggy from time to time. I'm not sure if that is due to the recent update to the game though. My Skyrim game runs stable with the above LO though, so maybe my Fallout 4 LO is off.

Why are some mods marked PS4-5 on PC creations menu? They have no size on PC.
Presumably because they have a playstation version uploaded. A while back a bethnet update set up uploads to have the ability to be consolidated into a single listing rather than a separate upload page for each platform. although making use of it depends on the uploader since uploads prior to that point weren't removed or switched to the consolidated setup automatically - the uploaders have to do that part themselves.
The PC vesion is empty 0KB.
Worked with a few masters of Japanese music to produce this track for a Skyrim mod I work for! Our mod is working with Akavir lore (though we're not set in Akavir), and it will feature some Japanese-inspired ruins left behind by the Tsaesci.
It's a combat track inspired by "bu-no-mai" warrior dances from gagaku (Ancient Japanese court music), with underscoring taiko, and a bunch of live-recorded instruments by myself and some friends.

I had a heavily visual and location overhaul a few years ago with around 230 and it worked but crashed constantly.
Now I'm sitting at 150 even as what I've researched said that's the safe bet. It works perfectly and I only have like 10 MB left of space on my 1 GB limit not counting the probably 30 MB of dead/ghost.
Just have a few patch mods I want to add but don't want the effect to be worse than the save if the 150 is really the safe limit

How do you make sure mods are installed because I don’t wanna end up running into a spider
Does the exhaustion incremental fatigue and exercise incremental growth add on for it have an in game MCM for PS4?
I use swf, I have Campfire, Frostfall, and last seed as well. I can see that the mod affects my stats and they don't regenerate, but I'm not seeing if the exercise part works, and I can't find any MCM access for it.
Also on another note, it's been awhile but I was helping you test console ports like a year year and a half ago before i fell off the game for awhile.

No menu yet. Exercise builds up on time,It's been tested and is actively used by me. Yes I remember you on Nexus. It was a mesh incompatibility issue,we never tried to get it ported again as I currently don't have a PC. Thank you for helping with testing

Actually just got back into Skyrim.
The fallout modding scene was pissing me off lol. Mostly the creations menu. Skyrim is so user friendly and navigates East with 200 mods. 20 mods in FO4 and it takes like 2 minutes to scroll and rearrange a single mod. And I had a lot. And the fo4 Bethesda net load order saving seems iffy compared to Skyrims even if you follow the proper save steps.

I have the cursed one compatible with Growl. If you die and are a werebeast you can change once within however long (haven't got to it in my current playthrough).
Two things about it I'm wondering, if I can use both and yours be in effect until I'm a were beast, and then after if I die, transform, then die again in werebeast form would it teleport me via your mod?

@acoustic kernel how does the cursed death alternative work exactly? Is it possible to use in Conjunction with rynnvks simple respawn by chance? Like it takes effect until I'm cursed. Then the cursed death is first, and then I'd I die that day again after untransformed then the respawn hit me back to town?

You know the issue with the Plantation is that it isn't too good, it is that the other systems in the game can't keep up. For example, I'm trying to develop a mod to allow Hendraheim to compete with a farm and other interactable objects, I've hit a road block because I am trying to add farm animals and I cannot seem to get the creatures to be milkable. I've even tried installing the mod that makes goats and cows milkable to try to understand the script used. I think Bethesda should make this a Universal feature for the goats and cows in Skyrim. Once a day they can be milked. This would allow all homes to continue to be viable, and allow other mods to be able to add to other house locations for better competition for the Plantation.

Anyone know of a ps mod that makes levelling up not happen in the skills screen? Trying to stay below a level but still use my unused points, and don't want a sleep to level one either as I sleep alot for my campfire setup

I'm on ps4 and use ordinator, Sacrosanct, growl, Wintersun, imperious, apocalypse, Odin, campfire, frostfall, last seed, lots of immersion mods, and plenty more. Just listing the main ones I'm curious if it relates to.

You'd have probably been told by now if anyone had anything that lets you have red dead horse care in Skyrim, engine just isn't set up for that level of interaction though
Hello! I made this and a couple related spider mods a while back, using an animal follower guide I found online.
When the spiders are dismissed, they properly leave your service, but they become impossible to talk to again.
Do you guys know how to fix this?
If it helps, the guide had me copy the scripts used for the stay dogs, so I intellectually know that’s probably where it’s coming from, but that’s about it.
You could use 2 mods
1st mod lvl 1 mod stops u from gain exp when a skill levels up can be activated mid playthrough and u will be lvl 36 if u were lvl 36 and stop growth, and you can turn it off to continue leveling up
2nd mod use dragon souls to get perk points
So if you want to stay a certain level you can have 1st mod on, and slay dragons to get perk points from the 2nd mod
And the 1st mod can be safely turned off and on mid playthrough

Know Any good mods that changes the perk system where it's a bit more affective cause I believe perks that affect certain weapons just sucks or weakens them like the when you attack with blank you have a greater chance to do x2 crit dmg or something but it only counts for the regular weapon dmg and not the improved weapon dmg from how high your 1 handed or 2 handed skill tree boosts them

Also I could recommend a transformation mod that is pretty good

It's a good design look has multiple color dragons each has it's own buffs and debuff
And you can transform near friendly NPCs and they won't attack you or get you a bounty like you do for werewolves and vampire lord

I use all the staples like Ordinator for perks, Odin and apocalypse for magic, imperious for races, Wintersun for religion, Andromeda for standing stones, wildcat for combat, Sacrosanct and Growl for vampire and werewolf. Frostfall, last seed, campfire, immersive traveling, hunterborn, and a handful more for survival realism.
I'm on ps4 by the way, there are comparable and better varieties on nexus if you're on pc
I should probably legend all my skills before I download it, and upgrade them all to max a with a diff mod I use for just in case reasons
I wouldn't recommend a mid game install on any of those mods
Btw if you want interesting house mods I recommend from Lids_S3L3L

I don't use location type mods unless they significantly alter an area, are a new location or dungeon, or ads quest or faction compatibility. Golden hills plantation provides most my housing joys, and hearth fire homes are good enough also

They mostly inhabit areas away from locations so shouldn't mess with anything

don't make your Quest node a child of the WIChangeLocationNode - It has conditions to only trigger a certain percent of times and not to soon after the last WI event

A question if you don’t mind: does LO matter when using patches intended for JK’s Skyrim and/or Interiors and X mod?
For example: I’m using AI Overhaul and ELFX. Of course the patches they’re going underneath both, but as for other JK related patches due to me using other mods, does LO matter?

It should!n’t matter. Most people suggest putting patches in same order as the main mods though. Like USSEP patch first and go from there.
Probably makes no difference though. Just fun to be OCD.
As long as the patches are loading after the mods they're making changes for it should be fine. Personally I prefer to put most patches into a group of other patches just so I know where they are in the list.

Hey could anyone help me with magnitude in the Creation Kit? I'm making some spells, and I have the magnitude to one of em set to 15, but when I load up the game it only displays 12.
Its a fortify restoration spell I made, novice level, that's supposed to use the RestorationPowerMod to increase the magnitude of Restoration spells by 15%. But, again, it only seems to do 12. Any ideas why?
nvm they're just working now, I didn't fix them at all they're just deciding to display the correct number now

when you are doing a grass cache its a good idea to make a backup of your profile (if you use Mod Organizer 2) and switch to the new profile and disable everything you can that doesnt have to do with grass or LOD's and still be able to start the game then generate. Also its normal for it to crash multiple times while generating it should automatically continue. and yea it takes friggin 4ever especially if you use seasons cause then you have to do it 5 times. once for each season and once for the map 🙁
