I mean, there's definitely that, but also things like closed permissions tend to throw a monkey wrench into the mix, too.
If I made a mod mod that plot a single vanilla static crate into the middle of Riverwood, I play for a while, and then uninstall the mod. Although it's not supported, that should uninstall without ill effect. It's still good advice to never uninstall mods as a general rule. That's the funny thing about generalities, they don't cover every single possibility.
And yet I've seen cases where something seemingly that simple getting removed left behind lasting changes that shouldn't exist.
I have no doubt. I too have seen small things like that leave lingering problems.
Listen, I went through so much effort to make Mimica as user friendly as humanly possible. Compatible with damn near everything, mid game whatever you want compatible, the works. And only me and my friends will ever appreciate that work

Yeah its not so much my own mod that did this, its being the porter for Legacy on console and also Snipeys go to if he's unavailable for the last couple years. I have dealt with some.....interesting characters lmao

Sadly no
There's one or two projects here and there but they're not really on the same scale as the unofficial patch, and even then some of those are plagued by their own issues as it's no small undertaking - to say nothing of needing patches between them and then also all the other compatibility patches you'd need to make between them and other mods to forward the various fixes. It's a colossal amount of work. 
Tbf, I mostly play vanilla+ so I shouldn't need to worry about mod compatibility. Just want some kind of stable patch that fixes a small handful of minor issues & quest fixes. I don't want to use the Unofficial Patch I dislike it's requirements & it changes stuff I don't want to be changed or fixed bugs I want to keep.
Well, you just have to pick your poison on that then, I'm afraid. There are scattered various small bugfix mods for specific issues and some mods that overhaul some systems tend to also include their own fixes for things, but I still think you're better off using the unofficial patch and load the mods with fixes you most want to keep after it to overwrite the relevant changes and use/make compatibility patches as needed to resolve specific conflicts. There are things yet in USSEP I'm not a fan of, sure, but it's honestly small compared to the ton of bugs it does fix that I definitely don't want to deal with and I'm not about to try going around moving the positions of a thousand trees so they're not floating in mid-air or trying to patch up quests and AI schedules so some NPC isn't doing weird crap at 2am etc. That's just far too much self-created work all to avoid using a mod.
What's to dislike about the requirements? All it asks for is what you already have in the base game.
I don't like some of the free Creation Club content. I usually uninstalled the ones I don't like.
The 4 DLCs that are required have been base game content since 2021. We don't require anything beyond that, free or otherwise.
I don't consider Creation Club as DLC, and I understand that they are free but they are annoying to have installed for me. One of them was a common Ironman ender for me because it had some high level NPCs placed in an area that I usually do at lower level. Also, the Fishing one was lazily done and I considered it to be content bloat.
I do use the Survival Mode one & Curios. I believe it is Curios that is the 4th one, right? It's a bit of a content bloat, but the items it adds are very useful, even if I can't get them normally in my Ironman runs.
Well whether you consider it "content bloat" or not, they're base game files that come with the game as distributed, and that's what our project aims to address are bugs in the base game.
I'm not sure which one you're talking about with the high level NPCs but the only one of the 4 you didn't mention by name is Saints & Seducers and that doesn't seem like the kind of thing to do that.
Alsio it's not Creation Club or DLC by definition anymore.
Saints & Seducers, ye'h. It adds a few camps that has bandits wearing the Golden Saint/Dark Seducer armors, one of them is on the road from Whiterun to Rorikstead, which is a common road I take during my low levels as I tend to focus on questing there to get a few higher levels before moving East.
Also, I wouldn't consider anything base game file except for Skyrim itself & it's main update. Dawnguard & Dragonborn are DLC, everything else falls under the additional content/mods section. I like to call the "official" additional content Creation Club still, as I don't want to get that mixed up with mods personally.
"Base Game" hasn't been what you're describing since 2013.
Oh, I know. Ever since the first Edition which had base game, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, & Dragonborn. I agree with that. Which is why I am fine with any mods requiring any of those, as those are main parts of Skyrim. Creation Club content though? I consider those as additional & optional content.
I do not wish to install optional content that I don't like nor want to use, and that's just how I am.
That's fine, but the 4 DLCs added in 2021 ceased to be CC and became part of Base Game at that point. You'll no doubt find plenty of mods which have been using those to add to what they do after that point, and obviously once those 4 turned to base game content we began fixing bugs in them as part of what we do. They aren't considered optional these days.
The other stuff from the AE Upgrade package is a different story though and USSEP doesn't require any of those.
Honestly, your mods are the only ones I know off the top of my head that requires them, outside of mods that are modifying those CC specifically.
Also, I understand ye' logic matey, and have nothing against it. It just doesn't line up with how I approach Skyrim personally, hence why I was looking for at least a smaller Unofficial Patch of some kind to help fix some issues. That's the beauty of a modding community, we can make or download mods to suit our wants/needs for the game.
I'm just not aware of any mods that remove or otherwise mute that content, as it's tbh a pretty niche goal. You might end up having to learn a little modding and say use xEdit to either edit the relevant base game plugin(s) and mods using them to remove/mute the content, or say make a separate mod to shut them down. Technically a lot of the objects in the various camps can be moved out of the game world by a mod, such as to a separate cell altogether, and quests relating to it can either be shut down or set to never start, etc. Survival mode for instance thankfully has a single global variable that controls its on/off state and will start up or shut down accordingly when it changes; I don't know if the other 4 files in question have something similar, but perhaps.
You may of course be inviting a whole host of bugs by doing that, but that's part of the nature of it.
Funny thing, I am a mod author. I know how to mod and have made Bethesda Mods before for Morrowind, Skyrim, & Oblivion Remastered. I just don't usually release my mods anymore, as they are mostly personal modifications for myself.
I am a well-known mod author though in the Minecraft Community, as I do post my Java Edition mods on Curseforge/Modrinth.

It should not be overly difficult to just condition all the stuff you don't want to never come up. That's far safer than trying to rip it from the game entirely.
Honestly, ye'h. The Fishing CC, for example, won't be as annoying if the quests just don't trigger. I hate that grindy questline and it always activates the moment you do anything kind of fishing or exist in Riften Docks.
So, changing the initial trigger could be a way of having it without worries. Saints & Seducers would be a bit more annoying though. I don't know if the relative bandits for it are LeveledNPCs or directly placed. If the former, that's easy to fix. I can just change the values accordingly. If not, eh.
Still though, not sure if it would be worth doing either way though. I would also have to change certain things in your mod Arthmoor too, as some changes ye' did bothers me.

There are a few changes in your Unofficial Patch that messes up my Ironman plans, such as the Ebony Mine change (off the top of my head). Though, I think someone already made a mod that changes that one back specifically, so I shouldn't have to worry about that.

I didn't say it was a bug or not. It's still a source of Ebony in an unmodded game, and that is important to me with my Ironman runs.
Which is why the ebony was moved. Though there are apparently still people who don't like that it got moved, but there'd be even more who would complain if we had just removed it entirely.

Yes, it was moved. First to Northwind Mine, but people complained. Then to an entirely new mini-dungeon. People complained. It's now occupying an animal den east of the village. Less people are complaing, but they still are.
IMO, Northwind Mine makes the most sense as all you're doing is switching the supply around.

C'mon now matey. Northwind Mine isn't that far from Shor's Stone if I remember correctly, and it only has skeletons!~ Skyrim's skeletons are a joke. Would rather go there for Ebony than an animal den that might have a bear.
But, being able to make own personal-use patch to remove it is trivial so I don't complain about it much anymore.
The den should only have wolves.
My take on it is just that fixing a bug and counter-balancing to restore what was "lost" by fixing the bug are two separate things. The first one is valid, the other should be its own mod, but, that's just me. So, to each their own.
The current state of it is much improved, so that's already great.
Trust me, you were pretty much the only person with that take on it. Everyone else was mad about moving the ebony but also expressed that they'd be livid over not restoring the supply balance.

In the end, technically nobody is happy since moving the ebony on its own results in a net gain in iron supply.
I just feel like being mad about ebony that wasn't supposed to even be there being removed feels like the people that complain about shopkeeper chests being pushed back under the ground so they can't be looted.

Honestly. I never liked that exploit... Which is funny because I love using that one exploit with Faendal for free lvl 50 archery, lol. Which I bet people despises as well.

That's another funny one, because that's where my desire for immersion clashes with things that might otherwise feel like an exploit. I'm of the thought that it should be possible to steal the gold back, though of course I feel like the NPC should also react in some way at some point if their thousands of gold they made just vanishes into the ether, but it can't be helped I guess.
If I even lose a fiver my entire day is ruined, but Faendal apparently just shrugs and keeps on trucking.
When I wasn't using the unofficial patch mod, it became a running gag between my friends about "It's Faendal time" because I always exploited him for archery training in every run.
Man, now you have me thinking we should just move the ore back to Northwind Mine considering where that's positioned. It's almost like it was supposed to go there.
It's even part of the same mountain as Red Belly.

I don't lament it being gone; I was just saying I thought from a you'd think it would be there angle that it made a kind of sense. The lack of NPC response made no sense, though, so removing it to remove the need to get the NPC to react is fair.
I'm glad it's generally fixed, I just only used the exploit on Faendal. Can't even remember the other valid trainers you can do it with.

I mean to say that... I added an additional weapon to Nazir's inventory. But I intend on making him use the extra in his off hand.

Yes, that much is certain. The animal den lies somewhere in between since the location is vanilla, but the nodes are added there.
In Northwind, the nodes are vanilla and would be much easier to deal with.
Honestly, that is more problematic for compatibility reasons since you are modifying an exterior cell just to add Ebony nodes that were removed from Shor's Stone.

In that case you might need to alter his skills to encourage him to dual-wield the weapons.

In looking at how they set Rayya up, she's got 2 identical scimitars in her inventory with nothing further as far as perks. So maybe it's just that easy. If he doesn't take up both on an existing save, try a fresh game and see. Sometimes these kinds of things bake into the game.

For ps4, you can't have external assets, so a weapon could easily be made of a knife already in the game, for example the normal dinner knife, but a specific chef's knife design can't be added externally.
And, I believe there is already a knife and fork, in the vanilla game/ dlcs, but I can't remember where they're found.

Okay, for the knife, it looks like the easiest / non-quest means of getting a hold of one, is to build a Hearthfire home and put a desk in the back room near the kitchen. It should appear in a bin on the desk, a weaponized knife, but it cannot be tempered.

That's not how it works. They put the Restriction in for reasons of their own, but people finding ways around it is not ever going to be considered a valid reason for lifting it. The danger you run, if you use a mod like that, is if they put a stop to it suddenly your mod disappears in mid play through.

Not anything. There are still Bethesda ToS requirements. Things that are property of another company or franchise for example cannot be on Bnet.
Plus obvious things like nudity etc.
You'd have to ask Sony on that; they're the ones that stipulated the restrictions. Their console, their rules. 
Xbox does have some restrictions. Bnet ToS as previously mentioned. Plus it can’t use external programs like SKSE. But plenty of great mods for Xbox. Over 35k last time I checked.

Kinda. I think. There are many mods that have found a workarounds. Like LotD. And there is also a term you will find in some mods like MCMish that have found alternatives to a full blown MCM.

It's moot either way because there's no help command on console and no direct way to enable a reimplementation of it in the regular papyrus API, so they have to enter its FormID anyways.

Hmm. It doesn't have help. It does have add though. Maybe they could ask on the nexus for the thane weapons mod for the generic ID and then figure the prefx based in its location in their load order. Lot of work but might get them the blade. Starting to really appreciate the value of funclist 1

Many will. Some of them, which may have required net script framework, or what have you, will not, and some of the authors have moved beyond that game version, but others have left 1.5.97 intact and released separate versions for the more up-to-date game. Best thing to do is to look at the downloads page, and see how many versions of the mod there are. Usually they will be separated by game version, although some will cover several versions at once, and others may have a single download that includes multiple versions within it. It's just a matter of taking a look at each one, to see which is available and which you need.

I've tried it once. I wasn't a big fan of it so I stuck with the CC before just axing the entire concept completely. Not all the Tools of Kagrenac need to be in Skyrim.

The enchantment can be used if a set of gear with Fortify Destruction effects is worn that reduces casting cost by a total of 100%.
Keening cannot be improved at the grindstone.
PC Only The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, version 1.0, addresses this issue. It can be improved with a Dwarven metal ingot and benefits from the Dwarven Smithing perk.

doubt it, playstation gets the bottom of the barrel since playstation doesnt allow mods with external mods which consist of like 90% of mods. Most your gonna find is mods only using vanilla assets or stat changes. Definetly nothing amazing. For mods either invest in a pc or an xbox, pc is better since no space limit and endless modding capability but more expensive, xbox is a bit cheaper alternative with a mod limit of id say 4 gigs but a ton more mods since there isnt a restriction on external assets other than nsfw mods, downside is you cant get amazing mods that require thing slike skse

The person porting the mod has to get the permission from the author, I was in the same position as you a few years ago. Try to find someone to port the mod and im sure that person will ask the author if they can port it over

well when porting mods its always good practice to make sure you got permission to port instead of someone else getting the permission for you, just to be safe

Because that's over 3 years old and despite having told people it won't be supported, they keep asking us to do exactly that anyway.
USEEP is something that has to be developed in close association with the current state of the game and attempting to maintain multiple outdated installs for the sake of continued support of those versions simply isn't feasible.
So its basically just getting sick of people asking for the old versions to get an update despite being told it will not?

You seem to not be aware or understand that in many cases sites the size of Bethnet, Nexus, etc rely on user reports to find all offending mods. A mod remaining up doesn't inherently mean it's following the rules - it may simply be the case that nobody has bothered to report it yet. There are various mods on various sites that, as a result of this, "fly under the radar" as the saying goes, for years at a time in some cases, until a day comes when someone does report it and it gets taken down.
Given what's necessary to employ the "workaround" banning people for it isn't that out of line.

Trees and grass usually have the largest impact outdoors. Skyland is helping you there too. But if using heavy grass and tree mods fps will still usually tank.

There's a mod out there that places occlusion planes all around the exterior worldspace. It should provide an improvement to performance, I just don't remember what the mod's name was..if it's even still up.
Depending on what other mods your using, you'll probably need to look for compatibility patches related to the newly placed planes too.

Was wondering if anyone was able to port the skysa combat animations standalone without the animated potions and animated looting? I'm having trouble running the gdb bundles and my character gets stuck in stagger/get up/paralysis mode. Was wondering if a version existed that was patched with tudm but the attack animations/combos only maybe?
@tall dove one thing that has always bothered me is the complete lack of tactics in the Civil war battles, even mods that get NPCs to do proper drill in marching, just have the disintegrate their formation on contact with an enemy.
I wish NPCs with say shields would at least attempt to form a line of shields with archers hanging behind a shield wall even if it was merely one rank deep
Yeah the NPCs don't do much. They were actually meant to call out stuff like Archer or Mage in that tower, up that wall or by that barricade.
Combat AI is its own issue. Since every soldier has the same AI you'll have a person with a bow shooting it while moving into melee instead of keeping distance.
There was a mod that I can recall that had NPCs moving in formation but I cannot remember where. I do recall a video they had to show it off was a bunch of Legionnaires in a squre

Yeah I think part of the issue is Skyrims combat. It's part of the reason mounted combat is a pain since you can just spin around with nothing holding you in place.
Mounted Combat is something that requires speed as staying stationary just makes you a big target.

And well Mounted Archers sound like a pain - any army ever with no counter to them.
You cannot catch them in melee so you better shout or time your shots well.
i did consider adding Horse Nomads to Whiterun Hold for my Thanedom mods but ruled against it due to how much of a pain it would be to script

I remember trying to fit every armour in how TES5 said it. Don't have a clear one of Scouts since it's at one point of the Civil war or the random encounter but I used it on the couriers.

I was going by how Beirand outfits the soldiers so "Heavy", "Medium" and "light"
Light is scout armour.
Medium is archers and light infantry. Do wish the Medium was more then just a studded chest and heavy shield.

id make medium use the heavy helmet
You could even subdivide it further, by making some of the medium troops use heavy gauntlets boots and helmet, while some of them only use heavy helmet. I personally like it when the entire cuirass is chainmail, rather than just the capelet.

I don't have access to my PC right now, but when I do, I can send you a template that is pre-selected, so that you can paste whatever kind of texture you want over the existing curats without having to spend the time with the select tool. I have made a few different versions, the first and unfortunately best of which was lost when I had the blue screen of death, but when I redid it I redid it right on to Frank's modded armor, so I don't believe I have any vanilla to send. The template is super quick and easy though.

How can you view the esp names of deleted/disabled mods on Xbox, post ‘23 update? I’m told a couple of methods that involve going offline and so on after deleting a mod. Thing is, because of the ‘23 update it merely just shows the mod name, not the direct file name. The point in why I need to figure out the file names is because I’m trying to make a comp patch. Does anybody know of the correct method?

You can do similar as I did with my Total War Mod, tho I don't have it anymore.
There was few commands that You could use via shouts ( Z slot Spells )
Your NPCs could make formations, I have made just 3, circle, square and triangle
To make NPCs take formations You can simply give them Follower AI Package to
follow specific object, in my case these were XMarkers, and then You
can move XMarkers using translate to Ref scipt.
When giving command to attack You can simply add and remove factions
and to stop combat... well if You remove faction it will not work,
You need to remove faction and call stopcombat() on the actors.
Tho I can tell You that Skyrim get choked after 100+ NPCs
I was doing few test battles with 200 vs 200 NPCs on a flat terrain
computer was pretty fat and I had no mods, so game was running on fine 60 FPS
but AI have definetly some restrictions, because NPCs were just standing next
to each other in combat state and attacking only very rarely.
Only ~10 NPCs were activelly fighting, the rest of 390 were standing more of the time
But well...
You can, it's going to be heavy on scripts and AI Packages but it can work.
You could make it better if You actually write some DLL for Skyrim...
Because at least I didnt found any other solution than tons of XMarkers and Packages

Download it from steam but then go into your SkyrimSE folder and launch it from the executable. Or right-click and send to desktop.

Anything that sounds like a mod is hard to use for me. I love new dialogue. But it has to sound the same.
i like this one serana mod that simply had a new VA do over all the dialogue, I never downloaded it, but it was cool to see
@thorny sky my advice for the mod is this. Completely replace Galmar's audio with a new VA, I know a few I could message you their names if you want for guys able to do good Nord Accents who love to VA for Skyrim. The writing is good, issue is however that ai audio is both divisive and doesn't match up to a human. You get a proper VA doing those lines and they will sound wonderful
He would need to redo hundreds of vanilla lines just for fewer than 100 new lines. A new voice is also incompatible with other mods that use his existing voice. So I think a new voice only really works if I'm adding hundreds or thousands of new lines to an originally bland character

I have plans to make a custom-voice version for Illia, who had very few vanilla lines
if you opt to do lots of quests or a major expansion to the Stormcloaks it would be worth it, but if your only doing like 100 new lines for Galmar your right its probably not worth it. wish there was a well known VA who was great at impersonating Skyrim characters

You should double check that the CK install is located in your Skyrim's root folder, if you haven't already.
Also, since both are on steam, now, you want to double check that you have the correct version of The Creation kit.

engine fixes issue can be caused because of wrong installation of mod.
Engine fixes have 2 parts.
part 1
you need to install part 1 for the game version you have you can use Mod manager or do it manual
part 2
isntall part 2 of mod and this one you must install manual into game root folder.
*also check if you have right version of skse for you game version

There are not prebuilt load orders that you can auto download. You would need a written load order from a player who you trust and then copy theirs by manually downloading each mod in their written LO.

Is there some one who can port a mod for me been trying to get this mod for over 2 weeks now
gameplay wise, thoughts on making it so super rural blacksmiths only forge basic weapons and armor, with most of their stock being misc metal work useful for Farmers and the like?
ie selling Nails, Hinges, Lanterns, pickaxes, wood axes, kettles, pots and pans and only a few Iron swords and some iron armor?
meanwhile City smiths often forge far more weapons and armor for the armies of the Jarls
That could make it interesting. Maybe you could buy a basic utility knife or axe or something, or a machete, from the rurals, but basic utilitarian quality.
Any decent guides on how to make a good level list?
The only thing that comes to mind is maybe something from dark Fox 127 on YouTube. I know he's got a lot of video tutorials and I think I saw one on leveled lists. What little I've done with them, I've found that it's easier to create a brand new one and leave the vanilla ones alone, then to try to modify one of those. But can easily duplicate a vanilla one and just tweak it from there and give it a different name. It seems the big thing is if you want something to be safe four times more common than another you need to drag it into the level list four times so like if you have an iron sword and a steel sword you might drag the steel sword in once and then the iron sword in four times so that it has a higher probability of being chosen. And then, the fun part is you can put the leveled lists into a leveled list. Like in my armor mod, I might have steel armor, and then inside that level list several other level lists would like a full set of matching Steel a full set of matching steel with the heavier pauldrons some mix and match stuff, which include their own separate level lists. So there might be steel a full set, steel B full set, steel c and then steel c might have a leveled list for cross a level list for boots a level list for helmet, Etc. There's a lot you can do with them, but they're a little bit labor-intensive. If you see NPCs in the game that are like only wearing boots, then you might double check to make sure that the level list is set to choose all not just one, so that it goes and gets them a set of gauntlets across and a helmet as well.

Mods usually affect strength. Granted most say the spells from arcane accessories are OP.
Main thing that affects spells relative strength and damage is your combat mod.
Not an overhaul, but a lightweight little mod that adds a couple of rings to make your destruction magic stronger. Depending on how much you choose to disenchant and reenchant, you can be as strong or as weak as you wish to be. Xbox and Playstation versions on bethesda.net, but I saw that you had PC listed.

That being said, and if I remember correctly, you want to find magic effects that you want in your spell, duplicate and give them a unique name so that you can tweak them without affecting any other spells. Then duplicate a similar spell form, or create a new one, and drag the appropriate magic effects into it, where you can manipulate their power, duration, etc, and give the spell form a unique name as well. It is a good idea to take a look at some of the common spells, their forms, and their magic effects, so that you can see how the developers matched up things like which hand or hands to cast, whether a boost affects duration or magnitude, and things like that.
Yeah so far I’ve been successful at creating the magic effects to include in my spell (learned to do so from scratch), however, I can’t seem to get my hazard with its own spell/effects to spawn from my spell’s collision with objects.
The hazard does work when I spawn it from console so I’m gonna reference the wiki to figure out how to create the hazard from my spell

No worries. I don't have access to my pc, so I can't go in and check, so please take this with a grain of salt. I wonder if something like that would be found under projectiles, rather than the magic effect. Is this a fire and forget projectile type spell?
No this is an aimed concentration spell. I could create my own projectile and have the spell/magic effect reference that new projectile, however, I couldn’t find any spell reference fields within projectiles so I’m confused as to how hazards are placed (like a wall of storms spell)
I can't remember how they did those. It was something unusual, if memory serves, but the best thing I could suggest would be to go into the creation kit and take apart wall of Storms and see how they did that.
I did exactly that and it turns out that they use impact data sets to spawn hazards depending on the surface it hits (will either be a regular hazard or a hazard with a “drop to ground” flag)
I spent an hour in CK duplicating and customizing all my records and SAVED but ofc it didn’t save so I have to start all over 🤦🏻♂️

If you go offline. Then access you load order the mod names will show as the esp name . Or if you disable the mod and load a save it will ask you if you want to enable the mod showing the esp name .

Kinda hard to say as lighting mods are very much personal preference. You will ask 5 people and get 10 opinions.
ELFX keeps causing flickers and glitches and makes a lot of mash edits and some areas.
Like others have said it causes problems for them, and it has its own issues.
I use no lighting mods and am satisfied with the Vanilla lighting. It has its own color space and a distinctive charm imo.

You might hit up gamerpoets on YouTube. He did a couple of vids a while back, showcasing several different lighting and weather mods, in which it cycles through them for each scene, so you can see the difference and decide which looks best to you.
Very true. The only thing I didn't like about Skyrim's lighting is that there really isn't any dark spaces so 99% of the game you don't need a torch or the cool light spells. But the actual setups that were used were very beautiful and well thought out.
I just don't like to add another felt hundred of patches for a light overhaul like ELFX / ELFX Shadows. Since i don't use an ENB, Lux is out of my possibilities. CS in its actual version is too demanding for my system, since i have already a large load order built as an graphic overhaul with textures, which are greater in size than the Vanilla ones. I also tried lightweight lighting overhauls like Skyrim is Luminous, but that one was too yellowish in my opinion. So after some extensive experiments with lighting overhauls, i'm back to Vanilla lighting. The only "lighting" mods i use are "Lanterns of Skyrim II" and "Embers XD".
I also have some New Land mods like "Land of Vominheim" or "Isle of Valefrost" and some dungeon packs from venjhammet installed. These mods build upon Vanilla lighting templates and so i have a consistently even lighting throughout all my mods without the need for lots of lighting patches.

Sorry for the wall of text but this is complicated and not the usual mixed up LO issue. Opened Skyrim to find the LO in a shambles again. Prolly half of them disabled as well. Started fixing it and found my landscape Vanaheimr was missing. I still had the LOD and Fyx patch for it. Went to DL it again and realized I only had 748mb free, less than double 479mb needed to DL it. Ugh. Then I looked carefully at the MB display; there is a shaded area in the Free Space display. I added red marks to draw your eye. Then I enabled the patches... which I should not be able to w/o the main mod. Looking closer at the Fyx mod I noticed it is 479mb... hm. Then I realized: Vanaheimr landscape has put on Fyx like a skinsuit! Hard resets did not fix it. Started a new game, ran ok but ctd when I attempted to exit city of Bruma. First time I've seen this. What a time to be alive! On edit: on Xbox One S

I don't think that is normal at all. Please look at the second pic carefully. The Fyx patch is 46KB but it shows as 479MB in my LO. I think the 2 mods became smashed together somehow during a mod scramble. But it runs fine so I'm keeping it 
Yes, that's normal, it's the same with language patches. For example, you take SWF, and then you download the French patch. Only the patch will be visible in your list with a larger size, because it only includes esp (which is the same as SWF), it does not contain meshes and textures (bsa). So the mods are added together to form one.

I have never seen that happen on Xbox for any patches I have ever used. Never used language patches. But otherwise not ever been a thing. Maybe it’s a new and confusing feature.

Supporting ports just means porting current version of the MA’s work. But it also appears you have a conflict. Something else is adding that bedroll. Or you are missing a patch or something. Hard to say but it’s not there with just JKs interiors.

Hi, at the end of the month I'm gonna go on holiday but a family member is loaning me their Steam Deck to use since they don't use it much anyway.
I plan to install Skyrim on it and have an experience ready to go on holiday but with Steam Deck I presume that means Nexus Mods is kinda out of the question, which I'm fine with.
But I'm wondering if there is any good alternatives to popular Nexus mods on Bethesda.Net? Specifically PC mods since Steam Deck is just a handheld PC.
Anything would be helpful but I'm wondering if there are any UI mods to give an experience similar to SkyUI (which obviously can't be used because it relies on SKSE)
Normally I'd use SkyUI and TrueHud (which I think the latter also gives floating health bars?)

Nexus isn’t out of the question for SteamDeck. It functions the same as a PC in terms of file structure so you can manually install mods from Nexus. I’m not sure if Vortex works with Steam OS though so you may be stuck installing manually.

It's more that I needed to Legendary to get more perks, but wanted to get something from making a skill legendary. I've seen some mods on the Nexus that do stuff like permanent skill fortification or mana/stamina/health increase (based on which archetype the skill belonged to)

On PC that would usually indicate that you have some other program running that's blocking the game's ability to write the file.
On console I'm not sure why that would come up at all since there shouldn't be any other programs running that would be accessing the game's files.

Soo many. Look at CD Cooleys mods for QOL, especially inventory stuff like better container controls and I think it's Sometimes Pickup Books. I like to include Violens too, on full mix.

If I understand this correctly, that just means the world model itself wasn't changed in the mod. That happens fairly often, sometimes just because it was an oversight and sometimes because only the worn and first person models were made. Unfortunately, on console, there's no way to tell you how to easily fix it. It would have to be uploaded as an update by the author.

A lot of these armors are gender specific. So if you're noy the right gender it'll show up as a vanilla armor instead.
I think only silverdragon is genser neutral
I have tested these armors on my end and I had zero issues with player models/inventory models.
Might be a conflict with some other mod
So unless its a gender specific armor issue, it might be conflicting with other mods. I have heard The Art of Smithing and the like seem to cause trouble with new craftable armor mods if LO isnt proper

I get what you are saying. But that is up to the user. If it’s just a texture diff then it should just say the textures resolution and then up to the mod user to decide what they want. But someone did say there was a difference between PS4/5 files so I guess that’s probably more likely anyways.
Also based on the title they would mean someone on PS5 could not use a PS4 mod. If just because of some assumptions because of textures that would not be true.

The Quest Debugger mod is an advanced utility used to fix quests, it can be used to skip them but I don't recommend it. It requires YOU, the user to do research. I've been tryimg to figure that it and, without access to my pc, not having any luck. The only other thing I could think of would be to open several vanilla shields in CK, and see if they have any additional keywords or are set up differently. I know this is outdated, but with regard to the parent/cold aspect of the keywords, maybe try it with ArmorTypeOther on addition to the ones you have?

Your scabbard NiTriShape's name should called Scb and not (for example) 1stPersonSteelsword. I would check for that first.

well, I have two and then a ninode.
two are bi's and then by itself is a ni simply called Scb, and then the others are Scb(insert other letters)
If you need the NiNode, then try going into the string entries for the nif (I think you can find it in the Header window, which you seem to have open there.) Rename string 5 (Scb) to something else, and then string 6 (Scb01) to be Scb..if that makes sense. Let me know if this makes any difference with your current problem.

You can enable the window in View > Show > Header. There should be a drop down entry called Strings inside of the window.

I've never tried the label on a NiNode before, but if you want to experiment here, you could parent those two BSTriShapes to that NiNode you have which doesn't have any child branches. Then you could try renaming the NiNode to Scb. Maybe make a copy of the nif as a backup if you want.
Note: I realize this is how you probably had it before, so my apologies if that was the case. Didn't realize your scabbard set was in two different pieces.

Yea Bnet and the LO menu is super wonky these days. (Since the Dec 2023 update)
Go offline to avoid the scramble and go in to your LO to arrange and make sure things are enabled as they should be. All while offline. Never access your LO online.

Bethesda doesn't offer technical support for community made mods though. You should try going over the installation instructions for the mod once more, check for conflicts between plugins, and so on. Consider asking in a dedicated modding forum for Skyrim as well, because you may find more luck within those spaces than in here.

This mod gives Ulfric and Galmar more immersive dialogues focused on their motives, past, plans and personal lives.
There are even new dialogue options with significant lore implications.
Extract from the mod description : To get started with any of them, you should head to a lumber mill and find a woodworking station nearby. There you can craft "Decorating Tips", which teaches the "Interact" lesser power. Everything this mod adds can be toggled on and off by using the "Interact" power. Does anyone know if there's a mod that does what Apocalypse's "Power of the Master" spell does, but standalone or etc?
It's one of my favourite spells from Apocalypse but I don't really use the Apocalypse spells, and they just tend to clutter vendor menus and etc.
TL;DR
Power of the Master is a one handed spell, when cast in the Right hand it will cast whatever Self-Beneficial spell is in your Left hand onto all your Conjurations.
I’ve a mild problem.
When I try to take on the Delayed Burial quest, Vantus Loreius can play the sound of his vanilla dialogue options, however, he says nothing in accordance to the new dialogue. I’m able to select the options, but he doesn’t speak.
I'm using AYOP, More to Say and Misc Dialogue Edits along with this. No other dialogue mods installed, if that matters.
Any idea what may be causing this?
Is it possible that there is no voice acting for that part? Have you turned on subtitles?

I would run a test with only more dialogue options installed. If it recurs then it’s a bug with the mod. If not you have a conflict somewhere

Hi all!! I’m getting back into Skyrim, but I haven’t played it since I had my Xbox One. I upgraded to an Xbox Series X in 2022, so therefore, I lost my load order on the Series X. I can still see the mods I downloaded in my Library on Creations. Would it be safe to download those (since they are technically for XBOX One) or should I just start downloading new mods? Any help would be appreciated!
I would suggest starting over. Clear reserve space. Hard reset. And build a new LO from scratch. There are probably about 20k more mods since you played last.

@devout valve hey, have you added a fix for Ghosts Of The Tribunal? (Creation Club) Because after looting the note off the guy in the forge, my quest refuses to go past that part no matter what I do, so I can't complete it. It just permanently says to search the body for clues.
Unfortunately I can't add support for any Creation Club content (or other people's mods, generally) without requiring everyone to get that content. So, your best bet will be to chat with the author of that creation.

I want to use it. I actually support @pine crown He and I share a lot in common. I’m 99% sure I had LAL on my XB1 save, but it didn’t require the Unofficial Skyrim Patch back then.
Alternate perspective is cool. But once was enough for me to experience it. The role play options that LAL gives make it essential IMO.

I am terrified of trying to get mods on Creations in Skyrim because as soon as I leave Creations, someway, somehow, my Xbox Series X always loses connection to my WiFi and it takes 30-45 minutes to reestablish a connection. The next time I get all of my past mods in my LO, I have to do it in one fell swoop. Lol.
I just don’t have the patience for that today.

Nope. I just exit out of Creations and my Series X loses connection to the internet for half an hour- 45 minutes.
It’s the oddest thing. I think I’m going to have to buy a WiFi booster with an Ethernet port and an Ethernet cable and plug that in directly to my Series X. It only happens with Beth games. Starfield does it, too, but not as consistently.
That’s extremely odd.

I can try to make a video, but I don’t really feel like going through the rigmarole of having to hard reset my Xbox six times, reset my home internet router, then get everything that relies on the WiFi in my apartment back up, then hard resetting my Xbox Series X again on the 25% chance that the WiFi will reconnect to it.
So at this point, I’m just going to look for a box that will connect to my WiFi router, then run an Ethernet cable through it to my Series X to have it constantly connected, as I don’t know if it’s Beth or my Series X’s WiFi card failing. But it seems to be more connected to Beth games, as any other game doesn’t have that issue.

@wooden carbon Greetings, do you or anyone else know if there's a compatibility patch of any sort which would make it compatible with @pine crown 's Villages? I was interested to try out your creation but I've already been a long time user of his (just bought the combined version to save a lot of effort updating, hah!), and didn't want to purchase it if they are going to conflict and there wasn't a patch to fix any issues. (Apologies if that spammed either of you twice, I accidently put it in the wrong channel on the first send).

They have a creation called A Secret Beneath the Ice, that looked interesting, however it edits areas which are edited by your Village's creation which (to me) is a higher priority. 🙂 Sorry, not enough context.

Depending on how many mods, the type of mods, and how in-depth you want to get, it can be as simple as using a mod manager to install some, or using a mod manager and several other conflict resolution tools to install and tweak a whole bunch, so they play nicely together. On the steam Skyrim special edition page, in the forums section, there are pinned topics, a couple of which include huge amounts of information on how to begin modding, install what you need, set up and use the basic tools. This will help you to establish a proper load order, so you don't have an unstable game, as well as doing things like merging your level lists so that one mod doesn't win an exclude all the others. There are also tutorials and links to Creation kit, so that you can create your own mods, if you so desire. If you prefer videos, gamer poets and gopher, both on youtube, have decent tutorials on how to install and use things like vortex, mod organizer to, exit, Wrye Bash, etc.
The only thing I would suggest is to use a mod manager of some sort, whichever one you prefer, to avoid having a bunch of junk manually installed in your data folder. The mod managers keep things separate, so that when you update or remove mods everything comes out at once, instead of you having to go on a hunt for all the different components.

Hi! Yes, the only edits ”A Secret Beneath the Ice” makes to the Whistling Mine (and to Bleakcoast Cave) is adding an entrance to a new dungeon in the interior of those two. There’s an added exterior entrance to Serpentstone Isle, but it’s small. Should work just fine with Arthmoor’s villages!

all gd, if ur using my port then i have no issue with being contacted about an issue. i did that port a long time ago though, and i don't have the files anymore, so i'll probably just do a complete re-upload later in the week and hopefully that one will be fixed.

I deleted a few mods on xbox and I want to be sure any leftover files are gone to clear space on the limit. How do I go about doing that besides reinstalling Skyrim completely? (I did that last time, not knowing there was an easier way)
Clear reserve space. This will delete all mods and any ghost space.
Might not need to do that though. Usually performing a hard reset after deleting is good enough

It's his site. Quite a few mods hosted there, which used to be on nexus. In my opinion, he's got the expansions nailed down. They are seamless and look like they've always been part of the game. Also, if you want some good QOL mods, look at CD Cooley's stuff on nexus. It ranges from one button inventory transfers, the ability to search things without sitting down 115 times, pick up books without having to read them every time, etc.
Gonna be a long term project just to get it running haha

Towns and villages like Dawnstar, Kynesgrove, etc. They're not resource-heavy overhauls, just expands them a bit, a few extra houses, maybe a shop or two.
I think the Rorikstead expansion has a house you can claim, used to belong to Lokir, the unfortunate alleged-horse thief from the intro.

Quick question, I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this but BGS knows about the LO shuffle, right?
I havent used mo2 before for skyrim. is there a function im assuming warning me about mod incompatability? I'm looking into some of these town expansions and im wondering if some of them will be incompatible with each other due to overlap
If you're looking at all Arthmoor's, they'll be fine together. If you're combining, for example Arthmoor's and JK's, there will be compatibility patches. Sometimes the main mods have patches on their downloads pages. Other times, there isca patch hub, for example a slew of JK's/other mod patches by Janquel. Still other times, a single patch is uploaded by a different author. It is not foolproof, but loot is usually pretty helpful for reminding you when patches are needed, and of course you will be able to use xedit to perform conflict resolution and see what else may need to be done, in some cases even making simple patches of your own with it.
are there any mods that let the dawnguard take over the vampire stronghold? like they burn it and it becomes dead space. it would make sense to refurbish it since it's a full castle and on the other side of skyrim
yea I saw a particular compatibility patch mod and it had so much stuff listed on it. headache and a half just finding what to even install let alone the compatibility afterwards

think deep down what I want is elder scrolls 6 and ideally avoiding some of the issues that became of the fallout games. I haven't played starfield or any of their latest games because I heard mainly bad things about them. I kind of miss that old morrowind formula. I know those games weren't exactly full of life either it was more the players mind filled it with life, different times. speaking of which, 150 mods installed so far, almost half way there XD
some of the mods I have require something called bijin aio, I noticed its hidden on the nexus. is it fine either way? I know you don't strictly need it to get bijin mods working but some of the stuff I have installed lists the aio as a dependency for somer eason
are there any good ones to enhance combat? not to make it more dark souls or more anime but like bigger scale battles without making it too crazy
I remember playing the rigmor mod and it gave some pretty big scale battles and its nice to have now and then, just it forced you to spam aoe spells to survive
You might look at the Genesis mods by tonycubed2. Genesis itself increases enemies in dungeons, and then there is Genesis surface spawns, that does the same thing on the roads. You can control how aggressive you want the mod to get. Immersive Patrols offers some larger scale Civil War battles, but you're only in those once you've chosen a side. There is also the Second Great War, which has some ludicrously huge battles, and you can be either with or against the Thalmor in that. I have all of them in, plus some others, and I basically can't go around the corner without having to fight more Bandits than I can possibly loot. Of course, I also use a multi-follower mod, so that helps to balance things out a bit.
