You don't need to have it on PC to download the file.
Nexus doesn't have a mechanism for verifying that you actually used the mod; it only knows if the file was downloaded.

@terse shard I have checked nexus about it but overall nothing pops out that is relative. It probably is just the mod, and it’s unfortunate because theres nobody I can contact that developed it that can give insight.

I don't have access to my pc to check, but you might use this uesp quest page, scroll to factions, pick one and look at the join quest pages. Then try searching ck with the quest ID, or other unique info. You may find something that leads you to it.

Best thing you can do now is either put the mods back how they were and reload a pre-change save, or leave them as they are and start a new game.

Belt-Fastened Quivers repositions quivers and crossbow bolts to your waist. While it wasn't intended at the time, the visual design is similar to that of Dark Souls' quiver location. My favorite is Ultimate Deadly Encounters and Spans, by tonycubed2. I'm looking for a vampire and werewolf mod that only enhances them without changing anything else in the game like perks, spells etc. I just want a better leveling scale for them and allow them to level my skills. I would also like to get some of their spells for my human form when I unlock their perks, like the vamp lord blood spell, summon gargoyle, vampiric grip or the werewolf power to summon other werewolves. I have a problem. Honningbrew Meadery is closed when it should be open, and Mallus Maccius flags me as an intruder when I break in, even though I completed Dampened Spirits, gaining him as a fence. Updating, deleting, and re-downloading the USSEP didn't help, what do I do? I'm on Xbos Series X, btw

That looks like the LOD engine bug. Have you tried simply saving out, quitting, and then restarting the game?
If this doesn't work I'll mess around with disabling open cities to see if what Tanis said is right

I know that the mod turns random encounters back on once the ride is over, unfortunately random encounters won’t come back for 10 in game days.

Nope. It does not understand Xbox vs PC at all.
It basically will just give you a most popular list of mods. And some will even conflict and overwrite. And it will not give you any needed patches. Plus some may even require SKSE and such.

hello there guys, I'm starting to program and stuff, made a couple mods for some offline games that i play. Does anybody have a link to a "skyrim modding guide" or something? I'd love to customize the game a bit
I'm not sure if there is any one singular comprehensive guide. I think for the most part people just refer to the creation kit wiki and then various youtube video tutorials and other scattered tutorials on websites and forums and such. The official CK wiki is also currently down for maintenance with no ETA on its return, so you'll have to use the backup mirror of the old CK wiki that UESP set up: https://ck.uesp.net/
There are a couple Papyrus scripting tutorials in said wiki as well, but they are very barebones.

I don’t see a CWE - OCS patch for Xbox. Also might need a combined patch for JKs , CWE and OCS. Not sure if using individual patches alone would be sufficient.

what is everyone’s favorite survival mode?

I do "survival mode" manually (i.e. characters eat, drink, sleep, bathe, avoid map-based fast travel, wear clothes appropriate to the situation they find themselves in (light apparel in warm areas, heavy apparel in cold areas, changing from armor to street clothes in cities), cooking most food before eating it, ect. I also turn off health regeneration and lower carry weight (the exact amount depends on the character). I may apply a few more restrictions, depending on character. I play on default difficulty and use mods to increase combat difficulty. I have never yet experienced any survival mode or mod that felt realistic to me so I handle it myself.

This gives a blank-slate eyecandy follower new dialogues and personalities.
She is a joyous, adventurous fighter, generally kind and soft, but can sometimes be playful.
While she is a Nord, she also has some Akaviri and Imperial ancestry, hence her unique name.
She is taking a rest in Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood, and you may recruit her after her quick introduction.
She has 100 lines which include location and quest reaction, quick introduction and some location dialogues.
Which is probably not good because Sony strictly states that it isn’t allowed.
That goes all the way back to 2016 when the first remaster came out.
Not talking about doing anything that breaks the ToS. Just finding creative ways to create the same stuff for PS without using external assets. E.g. I came up with a way to make Night Eye for khajiit into a toggled ability in Subtle Race Overhaul above without using scripts so it works on PS

This mod is a small tweak that adds an additional requirement for the Dawnguard quest to start: having been inside the Hall of the Vigilant. To actually make the civil war matter, improve vanilla quests, improve immersion, faction quests, stuff like that

There's so many modlists to choose from, so I'd love if someone could give me some tips
There is a bit of everything you want in the mods, the problem is not finding the mods, the problem is making them work together.
Stuff like immersion mods and overhaul mods rarely go together, so your best bet is to give up on some fronts.
OR be a crazy person and self patch everyfreaking mod.
This could also be a load order thing. In other words you may have to place some mods above others so they can load in properly.
True but load orders can sometimes cut off content from the mods below.
I had a mod overwrite a bandit overhaul mod, and the thing it overwrote was the core part of the mod lol.
True. That is when it just becomes a task of figuring out which mods to place where in the load order. That in itself is tedious and time consuming. 😅

Try to remember that you can only speak for yourself when it comes to something subjective/preferential like that. What you think nobody uses may in fact be used by quite a lot of people; they just don't necessarily have the time, reason, or opportunity to stop whatever they're doing to tell you about it.

Well yeah, thats why I'm hoping someone would've made a modlist with this in mind, that someone could point me to.
There's so many to choose from on Wabbajack, and these authors arent always that good at declaring the intent of their lists 😒

I'd rather suggest making your own modlist, I know it can be painfull and time consuming but that is the only way to get a skyrim that is morphed to your needs.
Most modlists have either 3-4 mods that break their whole idea, purely because those mods are popular.
And you can't even just disable them without something breaking in the modlist, truly a pain.
Also on the visual side, If you have a good enough computer to run ENB get it, and do not use any other visual enhancements mods with the ENB, ENB alone can be customized into oblivion, and trust me it feels so freaking good when you get the ENB settings just right to your needs.
otherwise if you don't want to use ENB, community shaders mods are pretty good.
Ever since the NPC enhancer gun mod came out for starfield on Xbox I always thought it would be great if someone would make a mod for Skyrim that would do the same thing for on Xbox.
It would be great if players could have a ring or spell that they could use on npcs or followers to change their hair color, race, make them thicker or thinner, change their eye color and more.
There has been many times when I would create a load order I would base it on certain race such as a Breton then I would have to go through all the mods to find Breton followers and most times they would always be given every magic ability when my character is an archer.
With such a mod a player could change any non-magic user npc into Breton or any other race to fit their character and if they wanted to make them a follower if they were an npc they could just use a follower spell like the ATF make follower spell.
I made a simple mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/142818 , which uses MiscItem OnEquipped event to use items.
At first, I let all items share the same script, and found that sometimes when item A is used, the data obtained in the property is item B. I thought it was because of the use of the same script, so I created a script for each item.
Then I found that this problem still occurs. I let each script file output its own name in OnEquipped, and found that sometimes the script called when item A is used is script of item B. I can no longer understand why this happens.
In the end, I can only check the player's inventory in the script. No matter which one is called, if the item is insufficient, tell the player to try to discard the item and pick it up again. I feel that my MOD is a complete failure.
The mod includes the source code, The mod is created via xEdit. The items of the mod are put into some containers through levellist. Then some items obtained from the container have problems when used.
The items I manually added through console player.additem are all correct.

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask, but hoping either it is or I can be pointed in a more reasonable direction - I'm working on a mod right now and I need to have some modeling done. I'm very bad with modeling and was hoping maybe someone else would be interested in creating a custom perk dome nif for my mod. My guess is a dome spell effect, to give the appearance of a defensive area ward, or Shield spell of some type.
If I recall correctly there was something similar in Chesko's campfire mod, where you could summon the common or Noble bed and furniture, inside of a little magic Dome
Or maybe it was frostfall. It has been quite a while, since I have been able to play.
Not what the other user was suggesting, there's a mesh file that is used to display perk trees like the vanilla skill menu and also the vampire and warewolf ones. In order to change things like the graphic displayed before you zoom in, you need to edit the mesh file.

Anyone know of any good Xbox controller mods for Skyrim? I tried Kontrol but it counters my preference for remapping sprint to LS. Their “shift” key for additional hotkeys is LB and that’s usually my change perspective button so when I use it, I’m constantly switching from FPP to TPP and back.
When I still had a controller I tended to use a third-party program called Joy2Key which lets you map buttons to keyboard inputs.

@tranquil sparrow I was wondering how long does the effects of the doomstone last and can I wait them out or is there a way to force the effect off my character because the ritual stone effect i receive from a mod i have is annoying and Im curious if I need to backtrack before I accepted the stones power or just hope it runs out soon because it lasted me entire falskaar playthrough so it feel like its never ending haha
They stay until changed. Go visit a different stone.
But that stone give you all the stones effects so going to any of the normal stones just tell you that you already have this stone

It lasts for around 8 hours real time I think. If I recall correctly you can visit another vanilla stone and interact with it to remove all other effects and just get that one.
I would check on that if I were you, if not I’ll have to patch in a way to remove it without waiting because I can see how it would be cumbersome.
Not sure if it has something to do with Andromeda stones I have that mod but when I try to go to one of the normal stones it tells me I already have that stone and to select another to change
Yeah a patch that allows it to be removed prematurely would be a life saver, I have a save before gaining the powers but its also before I started and finished falskaar so I'd prefer not going that far back😅 if something like that is possible it would be insanely appreciated 🙏

That likely means the issue you're having is preventing the quest from starting entirely, possibly due to an alias failing to fill, and/or an issue in a previous quest in the same quest line.

@deep harbor RE: foxes - it might be worthwhile to create a fix-rich zone in your mod. Duplicate an existing fox, make sure it can respawn and drop a pelt on death. (May need to create one, not sure. Give it a simple package to wander x distance from a marker, then sprinkle a bunch of them around. Maybe leave a journal or note somewhere, on a skeleton with its leg in a trap maybe, about the best places to fox hunt.

I only know how to edit armors and recipes. Although, i tried to change that recipe (from fox pelts to deer pelts), and the game kept crashing as soon as i tried to load my game. But as soon as i put the recipe back to fox pelts, the game worked fine.

Does anyone have any recommended/mandatory mods for PS5? I'm losing my mind with all these new mods and stuff, and there are so many load order guides out now that I have no idea what to follow. I was using a post I found on Reddit from people porting PC mods to PS5 that seemed rather updated, but I've seen a few, and they're all different. I know there isn't a set-in-stone Load Order, but there's gotta be some type of baseline, right?

So, I'm adding more to my personal patch.
It now involves LeanWolf's BSWs and Skyforge Steel weapons, namely the battle axe.
Only problem is that it doesn't make the Skyforge battle axe mesh ovewrite it's original, it just rather be using the BSW version.
Even with the paths being directed 'correctly' in the esp.

Look down at the 1st person model. (Follow the file path through windows explorer) See if it leads to the same thing, or if it's still going to Leanwolf's version. You may need to add a 1st person model to the folder and point the CK at it, as well. If it didn't come with one, you should be ok duplicating the model and just renaming it to add 1stP to the file name, then duplicate the one in CK, rename it and point it to your new 1stP model.

I don't use either mod so I wouldn't know. When in doubt, check their mod description pages and comments sections for info, and then maybe try contacting the author or someone else who is more knowledgeable of said mods.

I dont know if anyone can help me but I am trying to update some form 43 plugins into form 44 plugins with creation kit. However, when I try to load into creation kit with the mods and select them as active files they are not there. I have considered the fact that creation kits app id is wrong and tried to open up mod executables but I have a Schrödinger's cat scenario going on where I can find the file in my mods folder but when I try to add executables from files and paste the address it says windows can't find it. I really have no clue what is wrong and would appreciate if someone could help.

So weird space issue.
Cleared reserve space because I thought I was having a ghost space issue. So we can rule that out immediately. Cleared, hard reset etc. The whole package. Went through and was redownloading all my mods one at a time.
Now we get to the weird issue. I was trying to download the Divergence Vanilla+CC AIO 1k-512. Says it's file size is 603mb. I had 800+ free space. So I went checking and some other mods roughly around 600 would install but Divergence kept giving the space error. So I deleted something around 40mb and still the AIO wouldn't install but I decided to try installing them separately. The Vanilla AIO and then the CC AIO. Mind you, separately they actually add up to more space.... it worked. Then went and easily re-installed the 40mb mod I deleted before. Seems I did have enough space?
Then I noticed there was an Anniversary Edition of Divergence. So I deleted the Vanilla and tried to swap it for the Anniversary Edition. No dice. Said it was too big, no space etc. Went and deleted the 40mb mod again, and still no go. So I deleted Divergence CC and something else. Installed Divergence Anniversary... then installed the Divergence CC and it all went smooth and I was able to still re-download my 40mb mod from before and the other mod I had just deleted. So to test my remaining space I also grabbed another mod that was 108mb.
So tldr. It won't let me install an AIO that's 603mb saying I don't have enough space, but will let me install the same thing but as two separate bundles coming in at 649mb and another mod that's 108mb for a total of like 757ish 🤔 Anyone got any clue why this happened?
I don't know if this is something that happens in Skyrim, but it is a general computer thing, so maybe. When you are installing something, there is a certain amount that exists in memory during the installation process. Anything that is too large for RAM or designated as not necessary for RAM speed gets dumped into "virtual memory", essentially disk space that acts like slow RAM for that installation. When trying to install the entire 603mb file, there was not enough virtual memory space to complete the install (because remember that your files still exist on the disk in their original location until the install is complete). However, when you tried separately, there was enough virtual memory space for the individual components to complete their installations. Even though it takes up more space now, the space required for the installation process was less, and that's why you could do it the way you did.
It will do that if you don’t have double the space available for the mod you are downloading.
There is a workaround though

Do you mean clear the cache? That is done when you hard reset.
Or maybe you need to clear reserve space. (That also wipes your current LO)

I saved my LO, lemme delete all creations to see if the reserve has any residual files
Yep! There is a residual 1.25GB used
I would not recommend using that feature. It’s mostly broken.

DELETING SAVED DATA/CLEARING RESERVE SPACE:
- Bookmark all the mods in your LO you want to re-use
- Press the Xbox button
- Select My games & apps
- Highlight Games
- Highlight Skyrim SE
- Press Menu button to open the More options menu
- Select Manage game & add-ons
- Highlight Saved data
- Select User profile
- Select Delete everywhere, repeat until data is cleared
- Select Reserve space
- Select Clear reserved space
- Perform a HARD RESET
- Download mods (they'll be in bookmarks if you did step 1)
- Ensure mods are in the correct order
- Exit mod menu
- Quit game
- Perform a HARD RESET
.
Should never really need to delete the game. Doing the above takes care of everything.

hey, i just got the creation, but Maxima does not have anything in her "what do you have for sale", do i need to do her quest in order to unlock all the summoned sword?

Hey there! Good question. I believe Maxima only sells the swords when she is at the Atronach Standing Stone. It's in the mod description but perhaps I'll make it more noticeable. 🙂 they should also last 8 hours in real life time, although Maxima's summon lasts 60 seconds.

ok just in case other people wonder, i could buy from her, as long as she did not follow me, also, for the swords, i'm not sure if it works as an atronach, but i tested with the "skytrait" creation and i could summon two of them with the "dark art" trait (summon one more creature but it lasts 50% less)
i also noticed that they still are active after fast traveling but they don't fast travel directly in cities and only re appear when going outside the city. (instanced cities)
They also don't follow if entering in a city using the gate, so maybe they don't go in instances (which could be a problem for dungeons, etc...)
I just tested, they also don't go through buildings, caves, etc.. and if summoned inside they'll wait in it.

There is the one quest in Dragon Bridge that involves helping a fed up wife find and secure the husbands mead stash. A quest in which I’m trying to do.
It’s a misc quest. Thing is, the quest WILL NOT start. I’ve tried using BOTH quest debugger AND debug menu. Neither helped, even when following guides properly.
I even tried the methods that other people (of Reddit mostly) have used before, the quest just isn’t starting.

The release of oblivion remake has got me wanting to play elder scrolls again, but I'm not buying oblivion, from what I've seen and read, they didn't update the combat to today's standards, or even skyrim standards, I tried getting on skyrim a few months ago but the dated combat got boring quick. I need mod suggestions to make skyrims combat feel more in line with today's games combat mechanics.
i did read that but i don't find the outpost with all the npc's.
the only thing said here is that there is a mailbox in front of the whiterun house with a letter explaining how to start the quest but there is actually no mailbox in game there.
so, i was asking if someone here actually knows where to go, i hope the creator will help but i had no news from them.

Try typing outpost into the console, see if it gives you an interior cell, then you can at least coc to it.

if only there was a little hint somewhere to say how to start the quest or start the creation, etc, but there is no indication at all, no ingame quest started, no ingame courrier, nothing.
Hmm. I was able to find a reddit post where they mention a journal in The Whispers inventory. But, this is probably the point where I would open up the mod in either X edit or creation kit, and start looking at coordinates, and slash or using it to determine cell or item names.

i find the npc named whispers randomly while roaming around, found her journal, it just says hints to find the "black armor" but still nothing about everything else in the mod, like the outpost, player home, etc... I'd like some feedback from the mod author, but i still have no answers, just tagged him on discord but he might be busy or something. I'm not sure. In the faq, it mentioned an override folder for mo2. I didn't know if that may account for your recordings not showing up in the mcm, if it was looking for a different folder. Just grasping at straws, on my part, there.

I didn't realize you were on Le. Here is the Le mods page, set to look at the postings. It looks like a bunch of people have the same issue, but I don't see any mention of a fix yet. I am not in any kind of a position to help with troubleshooting on script mods, but as a wild guess, I wonder if this was created for special edition and then manipulated to work for Le. If so, is it possible that some facet of the mod did not get changed to Le, and is looking for a special edition folder or something to put recordings into? Like if the author converted nine of 10 files but missed the 10th, for example.

Here me out .... a extension mod to the dawnguard questline where you request meridia to help you on your quest to kill harkon and so you have to do a few quest to prove yourself worthy and actually spreading her name. In return you get a set of armor based off the same design as dawnbreaker and a blessing to fight harkon with. Something like this. Thoughts??

what would also help would be if merchants wouldn't try to fight vampires but run instead, cause they might still die if they go full suicidal mode
i don't feel like messing in the fights as there's high chance of hitting npcs during the fight but this time my lvl 10 char was pretty outmatched even when trying to meddle

Another mod I'd recommend if you don't have it that's also on afkmods is "Gildergreen Regrown".
why is that?
It makes it so that the Gildergreen in whiterun can be restored regardless of the path you pick in the relevant quest. If you bring back the seedling instead of the sap it'll actually plant the seeding and over the course of 6 in-game months the tree automatically grows into larger and larger forms until it returns to the normal size and appearance of the gildergreen and is thus restored.
It's one of the things that bothered me a lot in the vanilla game because without it if you chose the seedling you'd just be stuck with a seedling the rest of the game that never grows.

Yeah. You're supposed to encounter a monk who stops you and implores to let you find a more peaceful way to restore the tree as the nettlebane knife will actually injure/poison the larger tree.
If you opt to help him, it takes you along the different route.
where am i supposed to meet this monk? is it a random encounter?
If I remember right, he tries to run up to you after you leave the temple of kynareth in whiterun, but it's possible to leave the city before he reaches you I think and thus you can end up missing him there. I want to say I think he can also appear and approach you near the cave, but I vaguely recall that may simply be that he tries to travel from whiterun to there to catch up to you and is vulnerable to dying along the way since he's not particularly strong on his own.
When you opt to help you basically need to escort him so that he arrives safely iirc.
It's been a lot of years since I last did that quest so my memory is a bit fuzzy.
there is an npc right in the temple of kynareth that wants an escort, which happens after bringing nettlebane to the priestess, from the dialogue it wasn't clear to me that they want to take a different path at all, and when i took them to the tree there was no dialogue/event
don't do the quest very often though, last time the guy died on the route and time before that he died to the spriggans after taking the sap from the tree with nettlebane

sorry was afk to grab some food. basically, it just is. it's a more developed and improved iteration of the game's engine. it has better memory range (64bit instead of 32bit), can handle more mods with much less difficulty, has the ESL plugin system, crashes far less, can handle a lot more simultaneous entities in the game world (you could drop thousands of items into the world in SE, whereas if you try in LE it chokes and dies, etc), and so on.
i'm probably forgetting a number of other improvements.

Bear with me on this, because it has been a while, but if I remember correctly you can take whatever route you like, or fast travel, to the cave. He'll follow you through and when you hit the branch with the dagger to clear it out of the path he'll make a comment about how barbaric you are. Once you approach the tree, give him a minute or two to catch up to you, and he should make some statements that will allow you to prompt him to give you a better plan. When you do that, he should pray to the tree, and a sapling should appear.

Is there a Skyrim mod that adds oblivion gates as dungeons or like ayleid ruins as dungeons. Besides the Cause creation club quest
my Abyss mod features an Ayleid ruin and my more recent Birthday to Remember one has one too. There's also Sirenroot which is set in a large Ayleid ruin and is worth trying if you haven't. I can't think of any that add Oblivion gates like the Cause off the top of my head but I'd be more surprised if there isn't something out there

I kept looking for ones with functional gates and found a mod called the Oblivion Realms Serie 1 and 2. There's also Warden of the Coast but both don't seem to be anywhere aside from Nexus so no good for console people. I haven't tried either but both have active Oblivion gates in the pictures

Nexus is pretty straight forward. Some of the mood hold multiple versions in one download.
Strongly suggest you research and choose a preferred mod manager. There's vortex, mod organizer 2, and I believe Wrye Bash has that function. You can mod manually but it makes the data folder messy.
Get LOOT, xedit, and Wrye Bash. Between them, you can get a more stable load order, be reminded if missing dependencies, create merged and bashed patches, even edit and create mods, though some still need to be done in creation kit, and wrye bash allows for a bunch of very nice tweaks to be added to your bashed patch, like number of training sessions per level, number of summons at one time, etc.
You should be able to find a lot of installation/use tutorials for the various tools, between gamerpoets and gopher, on YouTube, and there are dedicated discords for loot and xedit.
Hey comfortable with all these, and you merge/change/reorder to your heart's content, to make your mods do exactly what you want.
Bear in mind it has been a while for me, and things may have changed some. Also probably want to read the pinned posts on the steam page, as some very experienced modders have created super resources for modding the game.

It will most likely not function so that would be bad, yes.
You can check the page for SSE Engine Fixes to be sure, but again that is not recommended to use out of date versions. You want the game and all mods you use to be current to get the best experience.

I think Wildlander has a low end mod pack option. This is the only wabbajack mod pack I’ve used
CPU and RAM should be more than capable. Big limiting factor is going to be your GPU as most mod packs include high res textures. But still I think there are low res variants. Also if you are playing at 1080p that will be a big help.
Also, if need be, you can use CAO to mass/batch reduce the textures. Make sure you keep the originals in a safe place and work on a copy. If you see something in game that looks too low-res, make a note and then place a copy of the original, or not-as-much-reduced texture back in.
Is there a mod that locks all Radiant Quests to Skyrim? I'm getting a sidequest from Gunmar that's sending me to Solstheim and I don't do the Dragonborn dlc untill AFTER I defeat Alduin.
I don't know about specifically locking quests, but I always encourage people to go into the quest log and make sure only the quest that you're working on is selected. That way you'll have one Arrow to follow and not a bunch.
Hi! Haven’t been here in a bit but recently started playing an old save again on PS4. I have some mods letting me spawn NPC’s and ANA’s Interior Decorator, and I’d love to move some to Fort Sungard, but I sided with the Empire this time and didn’t do Seasons Unending. So it’s still inhabited by hostile Forsworn, who I thought I could just erase with any one of the Erase NPC spells, but they’re ‘reserved’ so can’t be removed except if the fort is claimed by Empire or Stormcloak’s. Would someone be open to making a PS4 mod that changes all Forts to being owned by the winner, as if Seasons Unending had been passed and then Civil War was completed as well? Or if someone can just remove the Forsworn altogether, that’d be great too! Thanks!

It’s very simple, you will install wabbajack and link it to your Nexus Mods account. I recommend paying for nexus premium otherwise you will have to manually install all mods (I think $6 USD a month and can unsubscribe when you finish the install). Once the account is linked search for “Wildlander” in Wabbajack and install. You will have a separate launcher for Wildlander from Skyrim that you will click to launch Skyrim. Within the launcher, you can select an option for lower end PCs. Also note that most Wabbajack mod packs including Wildlander are typically large in file size. Over 100GB. However, using the low end versions will make them smaller.

I tend to play with a larger team of followers so all the extra enemies can be fun.
For the two Genesis mods, you will want to choose leveled or unleveled, with regard to keeping enemies at roughly normal levels or spawning insane beasts. There also a dead body temover to help with performance. Works in background or you can choose to burn them to ash.
The mod names escape me at the moment but I believe Jonxor and settelisette both have encounter mods out there, too. Last I played, I use both and both genesis together. (On addition to double installs of populated Skyrim and immersive patrols.) It's no wonders I burned up my cpu.

I do not. Even on pc, I was never able to find one like that. When I was testing a destruction magic mod, and whether the dual casting worked correctly, I ended up having to spawn a bandit Chief and manually adjust his health to a precise number, hit him, and then check it again with console commands, to see how much damage I did.

Playstation is much more limited in terms of how the game can be modded as it doesn't have access to SKSE, among other things.

I imagine there are Discord servers for several different groups of people who play the game, but you probably won't find anything like a specific Skyrim Guild or anything that you would see with a multiplayer. There are individual discords for loot, x edit, wrye bash, and some of the other common and important Skyrim modding tools, though. Some of the bigger tutorial makers, like gamer poets, also have their own discords.

Far more restricted, actually. Playstation mods are not able to have custom assets, with a single plugin file being the only thing that can be uploaded. So no custom scripts, textures, meshes, audio, etc. Supposedly there is an exploit some people are using to bypass that restriction in the Creation Kit but as it is not something normally allowed by it those people are presumably risking the mods being taken down, their accounts banned, and so on.
Judging by what is apparent, mods are able to have custom assets on PS, that's why I said what I said... I do wonder how it got figured out though.
In case anyone is thinking about getting the Albion Armor - Outpost Edition paid mod here's my suggestion: Don't. The outpost is supposed to have a note that gives clues to where the other armors and crafting recipes are but it does not. There is a book or note that I can't loot or even grab with Telepathy, and people on Reddit have that problem too, that might have the info. If the mod author had more details on it somewhere it might be worth it but they don't so it's not. If I could refund a paid mod I would do so for this one in a heartbeat
As I said, it's due to an exploit, not official support; as such it's correct to say that the restrictions for playstation mods are still what they are officially stated to be and otherwise enforced by the Creation Kit by default.

Not familiar with either, but you can sometimes find patches or links to them in the requirements section, or possibly the comments, of one of the mods to be patched.

so i don't know what's causing it but if I start a new game I experience extreme stuttering and then I crash I have a crash log mod but it doesn't generate any new logs

I have a question. Anyone here know the ID for Garth in Beyond Reach? This girl named Dusk just won't leave me alone and I'm apparently supposed to talk to Garth. Problem is, I don't know where he is and this girl hounds me all the way through town, interrupting me every ten seconds while I try to find Garth to actually do the quest and it is driving me up the wall, she just will not leave me alone. I'm hoping spawning him in by force will let me do the quest and get her to leave me be.

Requiem removes the need partly by adding already smithed drops of various quality, doesn't remove it entirely

I was looking for Honed Metal on bethnet but couldn't find it. There are a couple different varieties of "Blacksmiths sell" mods, one specifies tempered up to flawless, another is advanced items but doesn't spell out whether also tempered. The latter is by @tight hull so maybe he can advise on improved items.

does anyone have advice on 'combining' enchant object effects on weapons?
If it is more than two effects, it can become a royal pain, as inevitably one will not scale the way the others do. I'm stuck with just my phone, right now, but if you want to pull the armor of zurin arctis off of afkmods.com, you can see what I ended up having to do for a four effect enchantment. Short story, I argued with it for a long time, and ended up locking it down to exactly what the original enchantment was, because that was the only way I could keep them all in the range I needed them to be. An unintended effect, was that once it was locked down, another item could be enchanted no matter the size of the jam, at the same strength. The upside of that, is by the time someone gets to that level of destruction, making them find a grand soul, versus a petty soul, is really just not a big deal anymore.
I should have elaborated, sorry.
If it's that difficult, forget the part where I said combining the effects rather than the enchants.
In other words, can I apply two or so enchants, but changing the effect to a different one?
And if so, can I have advice?

Like, what the problem is: the little snow effects on frost weapons can't apply to Aegisbane.
The VAE2 effects don't apply to the meshes added/edited in Artefakes.

, if I'm not mistaken, you would create a new magic effect for the enchantment you'd like to use, and change the art via a drop-down on that. Then either apply that effect to an existing enchantment, which I would not advise because it will change all in the game, or the safer method would be to create a custom enchantment using your new custom magic effect with the visual effects that you want, and apply that enchantment to the weapon.

I cant figure out what could be causing the bow aiming to feel jerky and the vertical sensitivity is a lot higher than the horizontal. Also aiming movement does not feel smooth at all. Sorry if its hard to tell in the video
the only things coming to mind at the moment is make sure mouse acceleration is disabled and vsync disabled (use driver software or third-party tool to lock FPS to refresh rate or lower to avoid screen tearing).
and then if you're using an optical mouse perhaps try cleaning the little window over the laser underneath it. little bits of dust etc can cause the laser to scatter and lose accuracy.

I honestly wish they bring back all of the awesome voice actors for each Daedric Prince that ever had an unique one, but they probably won't. They didn't do it for Hircine, and I doubt they'll do it for others who have gotten some amazing voice actors. (Most of which are from ESO since many Daedric Princes became primary villains throughout ESO's expansions).
Sheogorath & Herma-Mora are the only exceptions.

How hard is the Skyrim modding tool to use?
If you mean the Creation Kit, it's fairly easy to use; there's just an initial learning curve. The bigger issue will be what you intend to even create. There's a lot to learn and you'll want to refer to the creation kit wikis often, especially if you start writing papyrus scripts.
Most likely. You'll probably want to try isolating the offending mod by disabling mods you suspect as culprits then going back to the door on a temporary new save (you can use COC from the main menu to teleport straight into the game, bypassing the intro) and attempting to open it. By sheer process of elimination you'll inevitably narrow it down to one or a couple interfering mods. Although you may be able to speed things along by loading the entire load order into xEdit and then searching for the door and claw by their EditorID and/or FormID to see which mod files are potentially editing their records, if any.
The latter assumes that the problem is edits to the door and/or claw which might not be the case.
I don't recall if the doors used an attached papyrus script to function, but if they do that may be another aspect to look into as well.
Hello, im having technical difficulties with my load order for some reason. Earlier today i was playing my modded save and realized i forgot to enable a mod i installed, now typically the mod is automaticly enabled the minute you download it but because creations is a bit unstable this isnt the case. i when into creations to enable the mod and reloaded my saves. When i go to continue my save, it prompts me there are mutliple missing mods from my save. Im very confused by this because last time i checked they were all enabled and in order. I go back into the creations menu to find half of my mods disabled and my load order scrambled. long story short i spend 3-4 hours reorginazing my save just to find it scrambled and disabled again. my creations menu is either broken or this is a bethesda.net issue. - Please help. How does one use the “download all library creations” function without having their own mods be included?
I just cleared my reserve space and went to BethNet to add and remove mods to and from my library.
But last time I used the aforementioned function it, it included the authorized mods which I didn’t want to install at the time.
On Xbox you must go offline before editing your LO. When offline (Parameters - Network - Disconnect), restart Skyrim and go to creations. Answer Yes to the message you will get to access your LO. Then reactivate all your mods. Before reorganizing the mods, exit and load a previous save dated before the issue. The game should tell you that the LO has changed and ask if you want to load the save(d) or the current/actual one. Select Save to load the game. Once loaded, make a new save and exit to the main menu. Go back to Creations and check your LO. If needed, reorder your mods, exit, load the last save and answer Current/Actual when prompted. If all is ok, save, exit fully and restart Skyrim and load your last save. Now you can go back online. While online, you can go into creations but only use the search and download functionalities. Any mod you want to remove -> OFFLINE. Any new mod installed -> OFFLINE to move it and activate it. New downloads are put at the end of the LO and deactivated by default when exiting creations online. Hope this will help you.

In a patch I'm making or at least trying to, how would I go about making vanilla effects apply to custom meshes?
For example: There is that custom Bloodskal Blade mesh by BillyRo, but being custom like other new meshes kicks out the projectile effect and other such things added by other mods, thus making a conflict.
Any help will be appreciated.

At least at their introduction, they all disabled achievements

How can You be struggling with SkyUI?
- Get SKSE - Skyrim Scripts Extender - You drop its content to the game and done
- Download, and if You pref. to use MO2 install via MO2 SkyUI
SkyUI have only 1 requiment which is SKSE...
Ofc. make sure that You are downloading everything for the right versions...
If Your game says version 1.6+ then You are on the AE, if You are below 1.6 then You are on SE
And I would personally recommend using SE ( there is Downgrade patch on Nexus )
I dont know tho how big differences are between AE and SE... other than CC and garbage from Bethesda that I dont want to have in my game...
But LE -> SE works 90% of the time, tho I learned for example that Bethesda ( or MS ) deleted support for DDS3 in AE... so LE works with only DDS3, SE works with both DDS3 and 5, while AE works only with DDS5 and for no reason support for older DDS got removed...
Meanning that if SE Mod uses old formats that would work in SE they may not work in AE... but its rly depending on the file formating...
And as for DDS, these are just texture files...

Well, in that mod ( it should work fine in SE despite being LE ) You just claim terrain ( by building ur own well and marking 4 poles what is "YOURS" )
And then You can place buildings that will generate resources and gold every day, but ofc. You can also be attacked and protect ur village 😄

Best if You save before picking location, because I liked to place in mountain terrains and not always it was possible to claim good terrain,
Your land poles must be in specific distance from the well, not too far, not too close, and sometimes its hard to find where to place them :x...

This question has probably come up before but what's the general opinion on mods that are essentially designed for your character to be semi-OP from the start? I got back into Skyrim after a couple of months break and I totally forgot how weak I felt in the early game so I installed some armour sets and cheat chests that could get me started faster. I understand it's a thing of personal preference though (sometimes we all wanna have a good power trip).
Opinions will vary, but the "bruh I play legendary in just my underwear with a fork" types seem more likely to comment when opinions are sought.
In my humble opinion, it's a single player game. Play however makes you happiest. Trying to adhere to how others think you should play just makes it less fun and more job-like.
Yeah, do what feels good for you. What feels good to you might change over time. You're allowed to change your mind too.
My personal opinion is that it takes away from my enjoyment of the game.
I just enjoy being overpowered and smashing my way through draugr or bandits.
On another note, is there a mod that lets you keep Barbas? Ik you can technically keep him if you just never complete the quest but I like the idea of having a talking pooch following my goth dragonborn around.
(plus I've already seen a mod that makes him look just a little bit more unique compared to other dogs in the game)
OP is a blast sometimes. I put on the Armor of Zurin Arctus and I'm like 5x stronger in destruction, 6x if I enchant my cloak. Then I dual cast flame cloak and mosy on into the center of the dungeon. With multiple 'more enemies' mods, it's just a huge BBQ and suddenly the dungeon is empty.

It has been so long since I've played that mod, that I can't even remember what most of the issues were. I do remember one thing. Once you get to the end, and you gain your Rewards, make it hard save, and test it. Sometimes it can stick and never turn off, so it's good to have a hard save to revert to

Skyrim and Morrowind are different provinces with different environments. So not sure that would be “old lore” would it?

Usually you'll want to get a third-party mod manager such as Mod Organizer 2 (aka "MO2") and then learn how to use it and get a baseline mod install going by watching a tutorial series about it on YouTube.

It’s not random. It has to do with something like the most visited inn or most recent inn at a certain level or something. So likely Whiterun for most people. But not necessarily.

Pretty sure if, for example, you have never been to Markarth, he won’t be in the Silver Blood Inn.
He can appear at any inn that has the special marker for the quest. Including inns added by mods if they have the marker. It's random, but the randomness of the game leaves a lot to be desired sometimes.

Yes, as long as the town has a Habitation keyword, a center marker, an inn with the LocTypeInn keyword, and the inn needs the DA14SamLocation type set on a marker inside. So there's a small amount of work needed to make mod-added inns work with it.

Eye color mods. It's fine I did some tests. I use Cosmetic Vampire Overhaul that also edits the eyes for the NPCs. It's compatible with other eye mods for the player only. I just wanted to know if standalone means player only and NPCs are unaffected.

Are there any mods available for console (ps4 specifically if that matters) that make staff enchanting be affected by boosts to crafting or enchanting? My character is really high level and atp it's not remotely viable to use staves but I like the look and feel of using them

There's no way to make staff enchanting create a stronger staff
Unlike regular enchanting, where the resulting item is created in the fly, staff enchanting just gives you one of the predefined staves in the game
This behavior is hardcoded and cannot be changed with the means available on consoles
Technically you can but it takes a lot of effort in modded workarounds. The main problem is playstation lacking in options in that regard compared to xbox.

Basically combining multiple existing systems to set up a framework to support it. It's something I've been poking at for years, but custom scripts are essentially mandatory if you don't want to have to go the tons of duplicate staves route you mention.

The enchantments here were made using the magic effect from the potion, or a duplicate of it rather, so it may very well work to increase your staff. I haven't tried it with staves, but it does work to increase swords and Hammers and things like that. You might make a hard save, pop it in and yourself some of the jewelry, either from Drelas' cottage or buy from Faralda, to test it. If it doesn't work just pull it back out and revert to the save.

Ah, sorry. I don't know what would cause that, unless maybe the vanilla (or some other) leveled list is winning out over the Thane weapons, or maybe it's injected into the lists but didn't remove the originals.

the unofficial skyrim patch for ps4, on the uesp page for becoming the thane of riften says if you wanna get the black blade of the rift, you need the unofficial patch, but it didnt work for me

NPC inventory edits are only reliable on a new save. if your game has loaded that NPC its inventory is potentially part of your save

You should never download mods on an existing save in general, things can always break even after several hours into a playthrough
The PS4 patch is a very scaled down version of the full patch.
Again this is misinformation. Whether or not a mod will function correctly mid-save is entirely dependent on what the mod does.
The problem in this scenario is that some fixes and changes to quest data are not retroactive. In particular to The Blade Of The Rift are the following bugs as noted by the UESP wiki (https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:I_Done_Got_Thaned!#Bugs):
- "The Blade of the Rift" is never actually given as a reward: instead, you will receive a generic un-renamed enchanted weapon.
- The reward you receive is generated randomly at the beginning of the game, so will always be iron.
In this specific scenario you unfortunately need to have both the unofficial patch and the thane weapon mods installed from the start of your playthrough to avoid the reward not being correct. This does not mean either mod will not still function correctly for the rest of their changes; it is fine to install them both mid-playthrough. It's just that doing so won't change this particular outcome.
As a result, in order to get the unique thane item from the mod they installed they'll need to either use a mod like Cheat Room or some other method for spawning the item (ideally the thane weapon mod itself should include a method for retroactively acquiring the item, but not every author accounts for retroactive mod use), or they'll have to start over. Or just give up on getting the item and continue playing with other items. @teal basalt

Unfortunately I don't know which one of the ones in that set of results is the one you'd want to use.
That said, I should note that I'm fairly sure that on its own Cheat Room won't be able to spawn the unique thane item as it's not normally a unique item in the base game. You'd probably need a patch that makes the unique item mod's version of the weapon available in it, or a mod to just spawn the item another way.

Correct. As another option, you could also try contacting the person who uploaded the thane item mod to see if they created a way to get the item retroactively and if not if they'd be willing to create a small mod to do so; realistically making a mod to add the items in somewhere inoccuous like a chest or a forge recipe would be fairly trivial.

Just to be sure, I would advise against removing the mod mid-playthrough - particularly if you intend to keep any custom items it adds that aren't present in the default game.
If you absolutely must risk removing a mod mid-playthrough, then be sure to first make a save before doing so; then, get rid of any items etc it added, then make another save, and then attempt the removal. The reason for this is that removing some data from the game's session by removing a mod can potentially corrupt your save or cause other bugs; it unfortunately just depends on what the mod does and how whether or not that will work out, so having a backup save will allow you to reinstall the mod and revert to where you were if it turns out that removing the mod broke things.
People who download the mods don't 100% know what every mod will do, so to be safe they shouldn't install them mid-save. This isn't even misinformation 😂

Just to put my two cents as a porter, author, and someone who has been helping people with LOs for years, I have to agree with FM07 here. The general consensus is to never download, delete, or even rearrange mods mid playthrough. This goes for both PC and Console. The reason this is the general consensus is because the average player is not going to dig through the nitty gritty of a mod just to determine if it safe to do anything with mid playthrough. On top of that, many players do not even read descriptions. So no, it's not a "lie" to tell people that in general you should be advised against downloading a mod mid game, it is sound advice for the average player.

Installing mods mid playthrough is supported but even that's not a guarantee
Same with downloading midgame. I get people all the time who forgot to install Hall of Wonders and then ask me if it's OK to do so mid game and I'm always like "I can't stop you, but I recommend against doing so" and then half come back saying it worked and half come back saying it broke their save and I'm like.... 
You can provide us a list with every mod that can and can't be installed mid-save and we can go from there.
I'm pretty sure you meant and installing and activating mods mid playthrough. Simply downloading content into your data directory is harmless
I mean, yeah, for the current conversation at hand we're talking about mods you install and activate mid game. FM07 and I are mainly from the console side of things so "downloading" for us is an all in one term cause you have to install and activate for the mod to do anything, even texture changes.
Most players don't look into whether every mod can or can't be installed mid-save and it is safe to assume not, based on this assumption they will just start a new game.
But yeah the one exception to the rule, that we tell people, is textures. Those can be messed with mid game as long as the mods are only textures and nothing else.
I'm a PC creature myself. On PC, it's not totally true what I said if the user is using a non-standard setup where their game is loading loose files. If a user has loose files enabled and they download a mod with loose files then that is not harmless. That could certainly have an effect on the game even when the plug-in is not activated
Yeah and that's why even on the PC side of things I repeatedly tell people not to mess with their LOs mid game at all. Could some things be safe? Absolutely. Am I about to trust that some rando I'm helping is going to deep dive a mod and figure it out themselves? Absolutely not. Am I going to deep dive whatever mod they're asking about for them? Not a chance. So yeah, the in general rule is there for a reason. 😅

Actually you can. There are a mere handful of things that shouldn't be installed midway through, and they all specifically tell you that in their descriptions.
The game is specifically built to be able to take on new content as you play.
What it's NOT built to do though is to remove that content from the game once it's embedded into your save. The developes themselves openly stated the engine is not designed to do that and taking things out of the game will likely result in things breaking.

Yes, and if your LO is around 5-10 mods, sure, you should be fine. But when you get into using 100s of mods you then run the risk of adding something that then conflicts with something else, some of which can and have bricked saves. We aren't just talking about the ramifications of the game handling a new mod mid save, we're also talking about inserting a new mod into an established LO. And the implications of it conflicting with things within the LO. Sure, on PC there are ways to mitigate the risks, but there is almost nothing to be done on console and this advice, specifically, is handed out to console players the most.
Sure. Designed that way intentionally. But again FM07 is playing it safe for most users. And most users and not fully informed. They just want to play without any research.

You have the same ability to adjust load order on console as we do on PC. Telling people that X will conflict with Y is just an excuse not to instruct them on how to change the load order.

As a last ditch effort, you might try that console command mod I linked earlier. See if you can find the PS4 equivalent of help.

But I HAVE repeatedly warned against removing things mid-save.
Changing the LO via rearranging is one thing, but with lack of tools like xEdit for conflict resolution there are some mods on console that simply will not work together because people can't do their own fixes and patches can't or don't exist for them. If someone has an established LO, and it is working, then the advice is to not touch it unless you want to start a new game. It's not like anyone has a rolodex of Mod X + Mod Y = Bricked Game.

Unfortunately there is no publicly available equivalent of the help command on console - especially not on PS4. (except for the UESP records database, accessible in a browser, for base game records). There is an approximation in the works for xbox, but even then it is not as good and unable to directly query data by its EditorID.
Fingers crossed that one day either the papyrus API is updated to add a function for it or the console commandline gets added on console outright.
