companions in F4 generally are terrible combat wise, due to the nerfs Bethesda placed on them.

but, in terms of effectiveness once they do start swinging, it's Codsworth, full stop.

Thanks to Automatron, you can now technically make a 'pet' build and Codsworth, who is usually forgettable in the base game, is now suddenly S-tier, able to be customized into a end-game killing machine.

now, Curie can also be effective as well, being slightly tankier, if I recall, but her quest ends up nerfing her into the ground.

though Ada is also up there, with the same scaling as Codsworth, but comes with innate 25% damage resistance.

Out of curiosity, how does it connect to the game? You equip a hat while on the app and it makes a new save same as the one before where the changes you made on the app have occured? It would be rad to use that in some kind of AR game honestly, using the PipBoy on your arm instead of the one ingame but I don't think the tech's there aside from the mess that was the Wii U and Zombi U respectively.

That's exactly how it works. As long as the game and the app are on the same network, you can use the app to control your pipboy in the game.

Like a dedicated extra screen just for your PipBoy

When you're not at your pc you can access your stats and all, but in offline mode.

Hey, I need some help with a in-game issue with fallout 4, ill provide a brief description: so I am very deep into a survival game to combat weight distribution I give all but 5 of fusion cores and my heavy weapons along with more ammo to my companion and by using a glitch of using commands to have a companion go and pick up a item you can bypass the weight limit on companions, knowing this, I gave x6-88 147 or so fusion cores over 1000lbs of gear from defeated foes, big boy the fat man that shoots a extra round, and a quad barrel missile launcher that also shoots a extra projectile, as you can assume this is all things that I desperately want to retrieve from x6-88, the problem is that x6 is missing, he went missing after a big fight he was wounded which required a stimpack and I failed to give it to him, which forced him to return to the institute, originally I thought that he just went to another settlement i didn't know he was at; I refuted this by using the vault 88 overseer's most wanted where you can put a waypoint on a companion, following the waypoint, it took my befuddled ass right back to the srb office and to a empty chair where x6 is usually found when he is visible or existing, now I also tried to go back to a past save but for some reason or another there's only 3 saves for my survival game none of which have x6 before his 'disappearance'. I also went to every settlement constructed a bell and x6 still wasn't found. also I cant use console commands because survival doesn't allow them, now, please if anyone can help me I'm pretty desperate to fix this issue. #fallout-support

Ok, that is because CS typically doesn't deal with in-game issues like quests. Are you sure you're not using the items you're missing by building something?

With Curie and Ada, you need the repair kit to fix them up. When she is about to enter the room to be transferred to her human body, remove everything you have on her so that it doesn't disappear. Curie is tankier and has the highest hp pool. She can be healed with a stimpack.

Ada can have all the modifications you can ever have on her but once she goes down, you need a repair kit, which is harder to come by.

If you are doing quests that have moral issues, bring Ada, she doesn't care. But Curie might have some dislikes or hate that affects your affinity with her. You can check the wiki for a list.

You can use Dev console commands. It's way easier and less of a hassle.

Open up the console, click on your companion and type in the, teleport to player command. Be sure to test it before you actually go on a quest. Like walk a few meters away and then teleport. Sometimes it doesn't work when you select objects or stuff in the vicinity, so you have to click on x6 object code.

Yes, in order to fix this, you need to go to your documents folder -> My Games -> Fallout4 and open Fallout4Prefs.ini with the notepad
Then find the line iPresentInterval=0 and change it to iPresentInterval=1

I really wished they would’ve patched the Cambridge crater and Greenetech crash. How are you supposed to complete the Hunter/hunted main quest if I can’t even get close to that area.

The problem with crashes (and other bugs) in Fallout 4 is that a lot of them are the result of RNG. Similar to the bug that instantly respawns items and enemies in a given area. No one playthrough will ever be the same. So I'd imagine some of these crashes will literally be unique to you, and thus hard, if, not impossible, to patch.

There's so many ways for that RNG to happen and random encounters to get permanently glitched out for that playthrough.

E.g., the door in Fort Hagen that on some playthroughs get permanently unopenable and basically breaks your game entirely, forcing you to replay the whole game lol. It's extremely rare, but it still happens.

The first time I visit the Cambridge crater area everything is ok, but when I try to go back there it crash every single time. I can’t ever go back to it because it will crash.

I noticed that these bugs sometimes get fixed if you reinstall the game, but that's all I know. Not sure what else to do. Really sucks, for sure.

Also, if you're using mods, then a lot of weird stuff can happen. That's one of the reason I prefer to play vanilla, because I feel like I'm wasting so many hours if I play modded and the game suddenly breaks on me, like when using that popular brutal survival mod and the game can break in so many ways.

For me the worst bug are the freezes when using VATS in survival mode. I use VATS only, so it's super frustrating.

Hello everyone! Just bought Fallout 4, and I've gotten a fair bit into the game. The problem now is that as many of you have discussed in here, i stumbled upon a bugg that totally destroyed my game.
So I'm in the hospital with the legendary deathclaw in the basement. I've killed it and has turned on the power in that thing that is connected to the door with the button and it says "insufficient power".
And the thing with the power is bugged, I've turned it on, it makes the humming noise, the handle has been turned. But it still says "press E to activate", And there is no way out beside that door that is not getting power..
And the biggest problem is that my latest save is 4 hours ago and i made soooo much progress and good loot in those 4 hours. Idk if i will restart it all...

So I'm wondering if anyone here knows anything that may help

For the xbone (my platform) its the title screen background with the login prompts over the top. It will say: "enter email" with the only button available as "create account" it will then say "email is already in use" rhen ask for your username and password.

well, it really depends on your preferences, as someone that owns all the dlc I can recommend them all but between those two it really comes down to what it is you want more

customizable robot companions and three legendary T-60 power armor pieces and a unique weapon as well as a workshop and new enemies and robotic armor from Automatron

new landmass, new enemies/creatures, three sets of raider styled armors, underarmors and outfits, new weapons, 2 legendary power armor sets, lots of new items including Nuka-Cola's among other things including a workshop

but to get the most out of it you will have to become a raider of sorts

Personally I love Nuka world though the community tends to lean towards far harbor as the best. I find (personally) that nuka worlds gimmick as a Disney land is very fresh and fun! But also to note that it’s noteablely smaller than far harbor which can definitely be a turn off, the story is enjoyable for me but can definitely be viewed less than desirable compared to far harbors story

If you find nuka cola a interesting concept then you’ll find nuka world a very entertaining experience but if you want a more story driven experience then far harbors multiple endings, factions and larger map are something you should consider

still wish this game got some TLC as still think is would've been great and add a bit more realism if you'd be able to assign settlers to restoration in the settlements to repair or fix existing structures in the settlements as yes I'd expect it would be dependent on the materials in storage to do so, but would be cool to come back into the first town and see that the houses have been patched with metal roofing and restored to at least complete homes or that the drive in has either had the destroyed portion removed or repaired, the screen patched and even a working projector. The castle over time if you have enough cement that the walls are repaired . As depending on how you play and entire year of ingame play can go through and the houses and structures stay the same and you really feel as if the settlers have been doing nothing, apart from waiting around to get kidnapped.

If you want to play a survival that isnt too game breaking, but allows more save flexability, I would suggest the campfire mod. Allows for setting up a tent with sleeping bag, as well as cooking station for food.

I wouldnt suggest any weapon mod that doesnt scale damage comparable to vanilla weapons, or at the very least is like the modern firearms mod that has auxillary mods that scale the damage modifiers.

Open the crafting station and look under misc. Items, instead of junk, components should be moved to that tab. Same with shipments of components.

If I remember right. Also setting up trade caravans to settlements will link your crafting inventories if this is the endgoal of lugging said materials around.

According to reddit, the crafting statioms inventory does get shared with other stations and crafting innsettlement menu, you just cant see each individuals stations contents from one another.

Also if you scrapped said item with the appropriate waste workshop machine, the components get sent down the conveyor to the floor or into the hopper you put at the end of the belt. I completely forgot that machine, because ive never actually used any of those in a game. But ive always wanted to!

Can someone help me figure out a problem on PS4?

I have FO4 and paid for all DLC. Had to reinstall all of the game. DLCs installed on their own. PSN will not allow me to make them separate installs. When I start the game shows all DLCs installed but not enabled. I have reinstalled twice, unactivated and reactivated primary. Anything else I can do to get the DLCs to enable?

Yeah i know the build limit stuff and even having too much stuff in your benches can cause issues.

I get these boston crashes on a fresh install, without mods, with mods that are meant to fix the area (Boston FPS Fix AIO, FAR, Boston Less Enemies, Dead Financial District. Shadow Resolution 2048 > 512. On small load orders that definitely aren't touching Boston. No configuration works.

Like I dont like the reason they have for existing. I've played as them in all the games. But only to see the different endings. But they were founded to take technology they dont like, away from people who have any form of technology by force if necessary. So when im playing the way I want in 4 I stick with the minutemen if I do the main quest at all.

That's something of an overstatement.
The Brotherhood aren't going to go up to any random wastelander with a laser rifle and force them to hand it over. They're only really out for technology that's really exceptionally dangerous, end of the world stuff or things related to that.

I dont think they are supposed to make sense or be good guys, i think they are supposed to be allegory for puritan isolationist idealism in any kind of group or political party.

Yes in play, the brotherhood doesnt go after YOU, but in dialogue and quests, you are essentially disarming the public and making them tithe resources to be dependent and subservant to them.

Just my opinion. It is just a fun game after all. And subtext really is only present to those who wish to read it, so 🙈🙉🙊

Not sure what the example is in NV, but in F3 they certainly don't - Hell, Lyons actively gives away a huge share of the Enclave's tech to Rivet city. And the Outcasts are totally cool bringing in random Joe Schmoes to mess around in high tech vaults. Pretty sure they also hook you up with a bunch of goodies if you help them out too.

Lyons giving that tech was highly scrutinized and lyons was considered a dangerous progressive. Outcasts are litterally branded a dangerous radical faction by the core brotherhood. They give you that cool stuff because you became a member after a huge amount of scrutiny (ingame inferred, not in practical dedication to playtime).

I mean, I see what you mean, there are more progressive factions and strongholds, but their staunch inability to change or adapt their tech hoarding, and suspiscion and outright hostility to wastelanders with any tech was the core plotpoint of the brotherhood quests in NV

YES, you are right, they are slowly adapting to survive.

But there is a large part of the old guard brotherhood that is being dragged along kicking and screaming to that progress, and a lot of them are leadership.

We arent saying that there arent good characters, progressive ideals, or forward thinking at all in the brotherhood.

We are saying in the story, they have been very, very backwards and suspiscious, and arguably the bad guy in certain situations, and overall, still have a long way to go to be a faction thats doing good for the wasteland for that sake, not just because the big bads in fallouts universe usually have advanced tech, that the brotherhood covet.

I think we might be jumping to conclusions there, All I'm saying is that we've never seen an instance of the Brotherhood flagging someone down for tech as simple as having a laser pistol. It's typically much larger fish they're out to fry.

People tend to spin them these days as being techno raiders that will oppress the poor defenseless farmers of the wasteland for having anything above a BB gun.

It takes a little more than that to get the Brotherhood's attention. They're generally not concerned with day to day stuff.

I am at Dema's computer inside the children of Atom's sub base, at Dema's computer, and enter the first level choice, my game just stays in limbo - never actually opening the Maze, it just sits there in dead space. hour glass spins, but the maze never opens up!! Googling revealed a steam conversation where the user stated that they exited the game mid quest, and they had to reload to a previous save to complete it without the game freezing. Could this be the case? Of course I have zero experience with this issue, and have done the quest, but not encountered your problem.

Another thread talked about computer issues when running over 60fps, but that was years old, so who knows if its still an issue.

Hey, i started playing FO4 yesterday, and ive ren into multiple problems, but all of them have been resolved by some research, but this one i spend 4h trying to resolve but nothing works. When i fast travel in the game, it just gets to the loading screen and stays there. Just keeps on loading. Any idea on what to do? I've moved the game to an ssd, downloaded loading accelerator, reinstalled the game, mixed around in the settings, tried different resolutions and deleting old save files. It might be worth mentioning that i have the game downloaded through Xbox game pass. my computer is more than capable of running the game so i dont think its a hardware performance issue, anyone have any idea on what i can do?

There should be 2 .exes, one called Fallout4.exe and another called Fallout4Launcher.exe, avoid the latter. You can also do fullscreen but I prefer not to as alt tabbing on fullscreen breaks the game.

Thats one of the ones that are level dependent. But it happens alot.

there is some important info that most players are missing. the amount of power armor frames that CAN BECOME x01 is actually VERY limited. and thanks to leveledthesda insisting on keeping thier stupid leveled loot system since oblivion some users didnt get a chance at x01 because of the way it works.

basicly only the frames inside boston (all 3 inside dungeons only one of them a full set) and the frames south of bosten can even spawn as a x01 once the player reaches lvl 28 these will all be x01.

the ONLY other frames that can become x01 are the one near fort strong on along the path (partial set randomly spawns between 2-5 pieces)

and the one at abadoned shack glowing sea. this one is inside a building aswell. part set only. 2-5 pieces.

since there is only 3 frames south of boston on the outside world and the one near fort strong also beeing outside there is a high chance many players have entered thier "loading range" basicly once you get to close on the worldmap the armors will be "fixed" at thier current quality and NEVER scale again with the player.

Making Leather 1 a bandolier was a little dumb but I honestly think it's one of the cooler looking sets as of F4 and looks more like something wastelanders or even civilized factions would be interested in mass producing for their ground troops rather than trying to scavenge more old world armor. Metal almost got there until it went SPIKE-A-MANIA 2287 and the weird shaved tire back-brace otherwise I'd probably have all my settlement guards wearing some neo-knightly metal armor.

Well. I guess it does make sense to use strips of tire as a durable and abundant material that would allow for flexibility, especially since it's layered over a leather vest of some kind.

Raider armor also incorporates metal of various types. So its still better then leather. Leather will barely stop a slash from a knife

I honestly think robot armor should be better then metal by a couple points. Its generally thicker and harder then normal metal

Go to the power armor station, and select the torso portion of the power armor you have attatched, if you have the t60, it has the option to attach a jetpack if you have met the requirements, same with the medical pump. But since they are both torso upgrades you can only have 1 at a time.

I believe the t60 is the only armor that has the jetpack option

There a thread about this on one of the forums and they said a possible fix is to choose load game. Select a save you like. And when it asks to confirm back to the main menu. Creation club works for them after that

I like modern weapons mod. It makes the game hard. Super mutants get sniper rifles that will kill you and bosses get heavy weapons like the m134 or anti aircraft weapons. But you will also kill them in one shot so you have to be tactical with how you approach enemies

Also if your more into a prettier environment check out green in the commonwealth or the seasons mod. I also tun militarized minute men and dawn of the minutemen, dawn of the instituteor dawn of the brotherhood of steel.

I also run the halo armor mod

I was always worried it would mess my game up. And the scopes never bothered me cause you cant see through them without the proper eye relief irl anyways

Even with acogs you have a 1 1/2 eye relief. Eotechs make sense for it

Also scout rifles are what I've always called battle rifles

The m14, the browning current bar, most of the short barrel bolt guns and rifles like mine are all considered scout rifles today

I see what makes them a scout rifle.

They make short barrel versions of them. And thats all a scout rifle really is. Its a short barrel hunting rifle. Barrel under 20 inches and a weight less then 10 lbs

M14 without mags come in at around 9 lbs. And the bolt guns with the right stocks can come in at around 6 lbs.

Most are around 8 lbs

And good for 450 yards shooting man sized targets

If I took my eotech off my "pistol"and put it on my rifle it would come in at about 9 lbs

Shoot take the scope off my rifle and it would be little more then 7 lbs. Even with the angled fore grip. With the scope its closer to 9 lbs

Because I try to have more immersive weapons and armor mods, I'm lagging when I'm in boston. I have to look at the ground when I walk and I don't even know where I'm going half the time. And it's on Xbox that I have that problem.

Some of these mods are like weapons and armor from games before Fallout 4.

I'd like for one new creation club quest to take us to the New California from Fallout-Fallout 2. Don't get me wrong, I like the Capital Wasteland's GNN Building but I don't really explore much else.

Plus I'm one of those Fallout players who would like to explore many other places than just The Commonwealth, Nuka World and Far Harbor.
