So whenever I launch fallout 4 I turn windowed mode and borderless off It zooms into in the game deep and the quality gets really bad. I'm on the highest quality (ive tried all) and I shouldn't need to play this windowed

I just bought it on steam because I used to play on PS4 and wanted better mods

Make sure you've run it via the official launcher since that's going to do the initial hardware detection and allow you to set the resolution you want to play at.

Yep, that's why the game looks like it does. You should be able to open the video settings from the launcher and set your resolution and stuff. I think there's also and Advanced button you have to click for more settings

Go back to that Fallout4Prefs file and open it with Notepad.

If you do a ctrl-f for iSize you should find the height and width values for your resolution and you can set them there by changing it to what you want.

You can also find Borderless there and set it to =1

#

I don't recall how to set for a monitor preference though.

If you want to mess with mods, you'll need one to play ultrawide without the UI being stretched, but you may be fine not messing with it. It's like stretching 4:3 to a 16:9 screen

your meaning the unofficial patches? if so, yea sometimes that be nice but some bugs/glitches it fixes are nice left alone depending what game and the fix so my stance on that rather it count as a creation (solely to get the approval of achievements) it stay as "mods" but perhaps given a class of its own to allow them... my 2 cents on that

Excuse me I bought a (Fallout 4 steam) and played it for 36 hours after that. And my game can't play in full screen, and I can't load or save the game at all. And all the games that I used to save have disappeared. (Window 10)

The tunnel snake and vault suit cc potentially cause some quest-starting issues if I recall. Some people say the X02 one does but I’ve not had issues with it.

Creation Club has stuff for free all the time, and it changes every week (assuming they're following the same pattern from when I last had it installed 3 years ago). Just because you paid for something that is now free for a limited time doesn't make me a liar.

Rylog9 isn't listed on anything in the Creation Club, fadingsignal made the Coffee and Donuts pack. Rylog9 has no mods for Fallout 4 on Nexus mods, so I don't see how he made anything that makes Creation Club content free.

If someone is uploading Creation Club files elsewhere, report it to Bethesda with a ticket for that game. If they're being uploaded to mod sites like Nexus Mods, report the mod on the site too.

Fallout 76 is a PvE game at this point. PvP is dead. Nuclear Winter is being removed, and no one PvPs in the normal game unless there's a challenge to claim a workshop.

So I just found out about Skyrim getting a 10th anniversary re-release that is going to be adding in the new CC content, and I just got to ask... what about Fallout 4? Fallout 4 hasn't gotten a single update since November 2019, and by all means it needs one that both patches up bugs that were added since that November update as well as new content.

I was having some issues with with the ring of infinite ammo mod it wouldn't spawn the first few times I had gone to the red rocket near the sanctuary and it wouldn't spawn it eventually spawned on the 4 try I don't know if there's anything you can do about it but just thought I should tell you

it's not enclave armor it's x-01 armor and it was originally for the secret service or something but was never used. bradberton had ties with the army so that's probably how they got the quantum power armor

Not certain on that one, since they hiked the speed up on way too much stuff to the point of Cazadores going so fast they can phase through solid matter, Geckos physically tilt forward at long ranges so you have to you have to aim at their 45 degree heads, weapons being levelled but enemies aren't so you have to find good guns in the Divide to stand a fighting chance, Marked Men regen health faster than the Cowboy Repeater can do damage which makes no sense as they aren't Ghouls. Sure other games have story issues but at least in them you can do something about the scarily fast things if you're smart (Dart Gun, Sprinting) while in NV you'll only kneecap a Mother Deathclaw if you shoot them with a missile launcher which requires you to know where they are beforehand and reload saves several times as the blast usually breaks your legs but not theirs despite being miles away and she getting it straight to her foot. Even if you break both her legs, she's as fast as you are.

Probably? You may want to make it a 6 crank capacitor to up the possibility of adding more damage by a lot. The more cranks, the more damage but the more (micro)fusion cells used in that shot.

Saw some saying it was broken after an update. Found this from some Steam forums

Somehow the 7.1 sound was no longer working. When I went to Control Panel > Sound, chose my headphones, and hit Configure > Test, only the front right and left speakers were making any sound. I disabled the headphones, then re-enabled them, and everything is working again.
OR
Control panel > Sound > Speakers > Advance > Restore Default.

It won't help I think. It's a known issue with Fallout 4 and Surround Sound. Your best bet would be to try a 3.5mm stereo headset.

That's just because you have a newer card than was available when Fallout 4 released (usually AMD ones), it doesn't match a name it it's known list.
Just plug in earbuds to your headphone jack with your USB headset unplugged and see if Fallout 4 sounds normal.

I do too. Kind of funny, but I just left it be. My latest playthrough, the quest broke. I climbed into the power armor grabbed the minigun but none of the raiders or deathclaw showed so I dropped down off the building, left the power armor and minigun in the middle of Concord and then told Codsworth I didn't find out anything in Concord and moved on. I just finished the Glowing Sea portion too, and preston is still stuck in the museum, but I got the magazine and bobblehead which is all that matters in my book, lol.

@lilac saffron I was able to complete the mission by avoiding the Vim Factory before the Avery mission started. That prevented the site from loading without the body. Took a few saves to find the Vim map point undiscovered.

Thing is for me they keep re releasing Skyrim, it’s time to let it die, the new elder scrolls 6 has been announced so they should focus on that but with fallout, we are years away from fallout 5 so a special edition fallout for the new gen would be nice to hold us over till the new one, and with pcs being more powerful now than when they released I bet pc players wouldn’t mind an overhaul for graphics and so on

Good morning y’all so here’s the 100% fix guaranteed for fixing the 0kb glitch on the console all you have to do is save and quit to the main menu then go to delete saves within the game menu and delete the save from saving and quiting then close the app and turn off your console 15 min once back in the glitch is completely gone no matter how many creations you have with a ton of skins or not

Yes, you can. It takes a bit of time though if you want to do it without being a total jerk / villain because he only gets off to you being a jerk to most Commonwealthers. The easiest way to get his affinity up is to actually just get in & out of power armor, but you have to wait at least 24 hours between getting out and getting in so the like will be accrued. As an added note - I highly recommend doing all of this before meeting Preston first in Concord (like, no kidding, just avoid Concord altogether until the DLC is over with). You can complete the DLC, get the perks you want and as long as you wipe them out after (that also includes any and all outposts in the Commonwealth), you can meet him and get him as a companion.

I hope Fallout gets an Anniversary Edition Plus+ just like Skyrim. I also hope the upgrade is significant seeing I spent money on the packs individually. Also from what I understand mod authors upon completion of content in the creation club are owned by bethesda. I'm not sure if they offered royalties since, but if things remain unchanged I don't see why they can't repackage with the creation club content and and unlock for the main game and not bloat without a plugin.

you could probably run it on low fullscreen with no background programs. I wouldn't be putting alot of mods on it tho except for maybe the unofficial patch and a mod like canary that helps against data leaks. Also try to get a program to help clear your ram before you play. Hope this helps! 🌴

Dear bethesda if you ever make an aniversary edition of fallout 4 consider the following. Have factions use thier respective paint jobs both for weapons and armor. Expand the weapons and colors. Also make so the fallout 4 wasteland implements the weapons and gear that are cannon Anti Material Rifle, homemade shotgun, tesla cannon, incinerator, clasic 10mm pistol, prototype gauss riffle as well as dlc weapons are included in the level list. For the creation club they can be locked behind completion of their main quests of course.

That would be fun, though from what I've seen these games have never been good at such things unless you count the pendulum traps where a spiky mace gets sent at you. If they could make projectiles physics based like that and able to damage you via momentum even after a rebound that'd be great.

Having the chance that your weapon might randomly discharge after overheating would make sense for the more crude variants. However the refined variants have the same problem, with less chance.

2 you convince danse to not kill himself if you have a high enough charisma , which make BOS your enemy
3 you talk to elder Maxson right after you get the kill order and you can convince him to not if you have a high enough charisma

Greetings everyone. maybe someone here can help me, i decided to reinstall Fallout 4 since i got a RTX 2070 however im having some very long loading times, about 1 minute + each, i didnt used to have this problem back when i had the R9 290, the only thing i changed on my system was the graphic card, any thoughts on how this can be fixed? I tried the Load Accelerator mod and while it does indeed reduce the loading times greatly for some whatever reason i crash when entering Diamond City with it installed. Any help on this would be appreciated. 🙂

Hi all, I'm encountering the issue where I can't talk to Codsworth in Sanctuary upon first visit, and unable to progress the MM quest line when Preston and the others get to Sanctuary after saving them in Concord. Preston's dialog gets stuck after "...are you ready to help out", and I am unable to proceed with the quest from there.

I managed to resolve the Codsworth one by killing everything in Sanctuary, but no luck with Preston. I've tried reinstalling the game, starting a new character, playing with or without mods, playing with or without DLC, no luck so far. I'm playing on Xbox Series S.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance 🙏

So a week ago I decided to do the first playthough for the institute with a focus on the main story saving shaun ect.

Played the Railroad path to get to the institute for the first time to get a trial feel of another faction I also hadn't played. Found it kinda cringe considering considering your focus is getting to your son and Desdemona is hardliner , results matter, do anything to protect synths and only synths over everything else.

Considering we just fought through synths and a courser to find shaun and get revenge on killing our husband/wife. Which is compounded because you see Synths being used and made as tools and property by the institute for explicit, selective reasons. For desdamona to have the expectation for you to die for stranger synths especially before you understand exactly how they are made by father (Shaun) is unrealistic. (might kill her out of curiosity later to see if she is a synth for bias).

Deacon breathes a dose of sanity into the faction, Glory is also a cool likable person to talk to (no quests with her so far tho), and as quirky social ineptitude's can be funny. I'm gonna explore pam a little more cause I feel like there is more than is let on.

I can see why people would choose minutemen over this simply for the fact there does not seam to be a bias on any one race in the wasteland, shame cause as theory goes they the only ones you can get ballistic fibers from.

Ai has always been a unpredictable variable in the fallout franchise. I'm not ignoring the contributions that valentine made on my run (Personally I like him), more of I'm accounting knowledge of kidnappings and swaping of humans for synths that the instatute uses for infiltration. I'm going to attempt to learn more from valentine, but from what I gather Valentine may be an attempt at infiltration but for an older model. Perhaps not to blend in through appearance (like Paladin Dance), but to get into the mind so to speak (like a calculator for math, a detective mind for deductive investigation), will have to do his quests.

I wish those Charisma Perks were buffed, I want "You work for me now, soldier." to be true. Have them defend your settlements, make a friend for life (if they know what's good for them), exchange gear with them. That Deathclaw you found in the Glowing Sea? Your pet/attack monitor lizard. Bring that protectron who thinks you're the mayor outside, the mayor needs new bodyguards as the last ones died 9999(recurring) days ago.

The nature of the protagonist is pretty ancillary to the global game "canon" especially in Fallout. Their actions are important, sure, but especially in 4, we are dealing the the FO version of a dragon break. Is the institute running the commonwealth? were the BoS wiped out? etc. The gender of the SS is all but irrelevant as far as future games referencing the events of FO4 is concerned.
