I'd assume somewhere in the mod's description it should mention which mods it requires. I don't use mods much on PS4, but the ones that have such dependencies all list in the description which ones they require.

when i try to launch fallout 4 it says i have an unrecognized video card, i've opened a ticket with bethesda but have yet to receive a response. I've tried various fixes from reddit and steam but none have worked so far, if wondering i am running a gtx 1660 super and a ryzen 5 2600 so don't suggest that i just can't run the game please

Does anyone else think its really silly you need two points in Local Leader to build crafting stations? That should be an Intelligence perk or something at least, not a Charisma perk.

@marble dawn If you're building a base though and not a settlement, I shouldn't need local leader. My loner PC with low charisma and high int shouldn't need to be a local leader to put crafting stations in his own base.

Stores, again, do make sense because you're essentially setting up yourself as a small business investor and working with people to get those stories going.

It's funny how in fiction nail guns are oftentimes stronger than military firepower but in reality it's only good if you hold it against your target before firing and are worthless at range.

I always start out with 6 Charisma points - I like to pass speech checks in Fallout 4. (It is silly that crafting workstations is a Charisma perk and not Int or strength.)

I always start with int 1. Then choose the savant perk. Then sneak, rifleman, local leader.

My start special is usually S 3,P 3,E 3,C 6,I 1, A 6, L 5. (or thereabouts.)

At the beginning I just focus on staying alive. (Sneak and rifleman help with that.)

My reasoning for int 1 is that my character spent too long in cryo and he regains his intelligence over time.

Strength should be high, probably exploit levels of high. Endurance is good for health, sprinting and power attacks. Other than that, no clue. Maybe lockpicking and some level of science to use energy weapons akin to spells?

The original "old" Beth forums were much better. The Beth.net just had an awful UI. I wish they'd spent a bit more time and effort into creating a proper forum with a clean responsive look and feel. But oh well.

I'm sad. I just met the Atom Cats and completely fell in love with their greaser attitude, yet there's no support for them, they're not a real faction, there's almost no mods to expand their role in the story. so, so disappointed.

CoA in F3 had two NPCs to interact with, and only one of them actually talked 'faction' things. Manya or what was her name, she was just a gossip. So Atom Cats is even more a faction in this sense

Every summer for the last 3 years I have come back to fallout 4 to look at all the new mods and replay the game, and each summer for the last 2 or 3, I‘ve used either the halo armor or star wars clone trooper armor. I always experience a really bad glitch with these mods, it’s a blood spatter/misting glitch where streaks of red paint the screen and drop frames to about 2 or 3 fps when I‘m shot or stabbed. A quick fix is to take the armor off and put it right back on, but that‘s a bit annoying. The fix I‘ve used for the last two summers was downloading mods that completely disabled blood and gore. With no blood, the blood streaking goes away and the game plays great. However, I kind of miss the blood and gore. I saw a thread of people discussing this issue on the bethesda forums back in 2018, and I‘m wondering, has a solution been created yet that allows blood to exist in the game and for me to also wear clone or spartan armor without the game breaking every time I get shot? I used to play on an original xbox one, but now I play on the xbox series x

The toons on the world radio, yes. You will get a strike. The background music that changes with battel or explore exc. . . You will not get a strike. You and use the background music from Marrowind, Skyrim, NV, Fo4, with out any copyright problems.

The creator of Skyrim's music ( Malukah ) has given permission to use her music in mods. So you can add them to other games BGS games, but you can not with the music you get from the game Skyrim. AS BGS owns that performance.

can someone please help me? I've been told to use twitter to get support with my issue but I've been farting around with it for 2 hours now and I'm no closer to finding or getting help. I can answer that as I have just tried it a few minutes ago and the answer is YES you can! you can't see any of the information for any of the installed mods but you can at least still toggle them

yes it has it's issues like not being able to toggle mods while the game is running whereas with bethesda.net you can toggle them from the main menu inside the game but I can at least tell you what to look for... one moment...

If you are using a vanilla load (no mods, no alterations) you can delete and reinstall as much as you like and even move the saves from install to install without issue as long as you make sure you keep the same official DLC's

I, honestly, have never finished a single FO game without mods.. I tried with FO4 but the story line of my kid missing but then just going around helping Preston did not fit. My very first MOD was StartMeUp to fix that oversight and now I run 200+ mod loads.

Additive animations is what modern games use to reduce file size, with Fallout 4 you have to animate....... Everything, and at high fps it can bloat file size. Additives remove that because they are basically animation layers that layer over an animation.

So if you wanted to make a vertical foregrip set for FO4 you'd have to make every hkx in order for it to function, with additives that basically removes the need to make it all, as its just one layer that goes over the animations.

Just because you delete a mod that doesn't mean it doesn't have an effect on your game, some mods change the game or replace some assets, by deleting the mods the game doesn't necessarily revert back to Vanilla. I'd try verifying by cache

Loose files are always loaded after archives, even if their respective plugins are in a different load order. Individual loose files take longer to load than archived files. As far as I know, but not sure.

Not a huge fan of the art for the Raiders in 4's artbook, tbh - It's all a little colorful and all over the place. You could pretty easily mistake them for just general wastelanders most of the time. I feel like what they went with around the sack hoods and crazy metal brace armor ended up working well.

The only exception being the Wharf Rats and their designs -
Hell of a shame they didn't get used. Unless you count the cage helmet in FH.

Personally I like the idea of Raiders having color to them, but in the sense of "gang colors", you know - like, the members of one "gang" all wear red shirts or bandannas, or somesuch. The blue poncho designs would have fit nicely for the gangs in the flooded, swampy southern parts of the map

One of my "dream mods" that I hope to do if I ever learn to model, program, design textures, etc (which is likely never lmao) is giving each of the "main" raider gangs in the commonwealth unique "colors" that they wear along with some unique outfits. Bosco's gang at DB Tech wearing green and yellow after the school's sports team colors, for instance, and maybe putting up bear graffiti around the school

My pet theory is that it's a port from some of the unreleased F4CC content.
Similar to how all the merc outfits were redone, I'm expecting all the raider ones too.

If Fallout 4 ever gets remastered, I think co-op multiplayer should be involved. Nothing more than 2-4 people at a time, so that friends can venture the Commonwealth together. Course, they could also increase the difficulty of enemies with the amount of players in the world too.

Looking back at it now, it might be worth to remake Fallout 4 over remaster it. Fallout 76 isn't my favourite game in the world, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't introduce some interesting things. Adding 76's weapon variety into 4 would make the game a lot better to play through multiple times. Right now in 4, I usually grab the Deliverer early on and rock it for nearly the entire game. But with 76's added roster, I think it would add to the Commonwealth experience even more.

I installed the Minuteman Patrol mod on PC and when I went to retake the Castle, it was over in about 4mins flat. Apparently, two patrols spawned there, one inside the walls and one on the beach. Ended up with 12 minutemen, excluding myself and Preston; two of those minutemen were also in Power Armor lol

Initially, the CC delay was Covid-related, it has escalated and one of the possibilities cannot be discussed here. However, the other possibility is that everyone is mandatory 100% on Starfield and it’ll get ironed out once they can pull back from it.

They've got more than a years worth of content already complete and ready to release, the releasing itself is the issue. Which has lead many people to speculate that there's legal red tape holding things up. (Without getting into specifics)

The reason they haven't said anything is because there really aren't many people who care about CC. It was torn apart by critics as paid mods (which they are). Bethesda made a few bucks on it and as soon as it became unprofitable they abandoned it

They won't announce the closure of CC because then they'd have to deal with refunding unused credits.

So the best course of action for Bethesda, albeit VERY scummy, is to just walk away and say nothing.

Goes beyond 'making a few bucks' too - Creation club's got a decently positive reception these days and it's practically glowing among modders. Shelter was techically developed by another company even if they no longer have a good relationship

Also regardless of what you or any articles say Bethesda officially considers CC to be Micro DLCs. So following that line of thinking it makes no sense to give them a dedicated channel.

If you regard them as mods then they're covered by the Fallout 4 mod channel.

Bethesda's games have never co-operated with Alt-tab very well. I stopped doing it altogether a few years ago. But back when I used to do it all the time I would keep a second program open while I played. I used my Windows Notepad for this purpose. I don't know why, but having a second program going in the background made it easier for me to Alt-Tab out of Morrowind and Oblivion. It might be worth a try in Fallout 4.

That's been my experience as well for games which operate in "true" full screen. For example, Empyrion will flatly refuse to alt-tab away if no other program is on the taskbar at the time. Opening the task manager is enough to get it to comply. I've also had similar issues with other Unity based games, so it's definitely not exclusive to BGS titles.

My game wont load anything after the main menu it just sits on a loading screen no matter what option from the main menu i choose. This started after downloading some mods and relaunching the game. I run on PC and theres no way that its because of my specs since i normally run the game in ultra graphics and still get a steady 70-80 fps. Ive tried verifying the game files, ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and ive tried deleting all of my mod files. I cant find anything related to this issue online its mostly just people from 2016 who had a similar issue but the difference is their game will load eventually. Mine will sit there for hours loading seemingly nothing and at this point i have no idea what to do. If anyone has a fix or any suggestions please let me know id love to get back to my game

Most companies usually have some kind of sale on existing materials when they have an event planned to discuss upcoming stuff.

I got AC Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion for 20 bucks each because of an Ubisoft Forward related sale.
