I cannot for the life of me understand how they didnt fix all the crashing issues with all the updates they have done

In my opinion i think its ridiculous. Just played mass fusion mission and it crashed probably 7 times throughout the mission. Thats a main story mission and honestly i think that’s unacceptable.

My thing only crashed 1 time from that quest, that was when I leave the room after defeating the security robots and see the synths and bos fighting and I instantly leave and i think all the fighting caused the fame to crashed when I used the exit door

rebooted the game and asked beth net to bring my load order back
it downloaded half of the stuff
i then re delete everything and manually download each mod in my load order and it fits

Drop them on the ground in a settlement and scrap them in Build mode.
Some items can also be scrapped at workbenches.

Alternatively, check the console system settings for language options if not available in-game.

I'm sorry, I'm checking all my settings, both in the Xbox app and on my PC, and I have everything set to display in Spanish. The launcher does show Spanish text, but once I'm in the game, everything appears in English. The launcher doesn’t let me change anything except the graphics, and inside the game, the only option I see is subtitles, but everything is in English.

Apparently I'll have to buy the Steam version to play more comfortably

It costs money, but even a low-end gaming laptop would play FO4 (3, NV, London) and you could connect it to your TV with an HDMI cable. The GOG.com versions of 3, NV, 4 play fine without constant crashing. I only mention this since it would solve the problem, and as a bonus let you play Fallout London and free mods from NexusMods.

Is anyone getting some kinda weird freezing over at the trailer park on the west side of the map? I keep trying to go to it because the haptic drive is there in need to collect for quartermastery but it just won't let me go there. At all. i played the next gen version sometime last year, started a new game and on survival for the first time and it was pain but new. but due to the state the game was in with new issues and other things i decided to stop instead of put more time into it just to have things break later in the game as i was reading about.

They didn’t know about the impact on DLCs for PS4 until after they released it. Not all PS4 users are affected. There was a similar DLC issue on Xbox at launch of AE, but they managed to fix that quite quickly.

If it would show up with that kind of testing then yes they would have spotted it before release. But in a lot of cases it works fine on PS4. It looks like it’s certain combinations of different distributions that don’t work.

For example there are around 10+ versions of the base game out there on PS4. Plus a similar number of ways of bundling the DLC. So you are already looking at around 100 combinations they would need to regression test. And the regression tests would need to test for every possible failure, not just this failure that we now know about in hindsight.

If you are on PS5 and have digital versions of Fallout 4 and its DLC, like the GOTY edition, you should be fine.
For myself on an impacted PS4 version, I’ve found that playing without the DLC is just kind of frustrating, even if I start a new game.
I even tried playing the original release version 1.00. That was kind of fun actually.

To add to that, I have no idea why the update was even implemented on PlayStation at all. Like, 80% of these paid mods aren't compliant with Sony's ToS and to force an update to curate the delivery of these mods is nonsensical. Even if they fix all the issues with the DLC, the consolation and payoff for the people affected get what? An opportunity to spend even more money on a few minuscule and restrictive mods? They don't get the free Tale of the Beast Hunter, T60 Pistol, Varmint Rifle, or Revenge of the Van Graffs as their apology like everyone else, they get nothing. Having the game broken for such a diminishing return, especially for the people who don't even play with mods, is the most frustrating part.

Looking at it from Bethesda’s (and Sony) viewpoints, console players are a big chunk of the base so they want to monetise that base with the new (paid) Verified Creations and Creations Bundle.
By the way it does not violate Sony ToS if Bethesda releases something to PS that uses external assets. It’s only for free community authored mods. Creation Club was always available on PS with external assets. The Verified Creations initiative is a way to try to persuade Sony to accept external assets in a wider variety of mods (Creations) for Fallout 4, as I believe Sony have already done in other Bethesda games that have Verified Creator programmes.

The place to check is under Add Ons from the first menu screen (the menu where you can do New game). If you check under Installed while you are in-game that information is wrong (on all platforms currently). It will tell you that you have every Creation and every DLC owned and installed, whether you do or don’t.

If you buy just the Anniversary Edition AFAIK you don't get any new mods/ creations as such. If you buy the Anniversary Creations Bundle then yes you get a bunch of mods (Creations) included.

Granted I have to fight with the game every time I boot it up because for some reason ever since the anniversary edition my game constantly deactivates my mods or at least some of my mods and I have to reactivate them try to boot up the game have it say you want to use the current loadout or the saved one tell it to use the same one only for it to deactivate some mods again then when it doesn't load go back reactivate all my mods again and then log into the game proper this time once it gets done updating... So I don't know if the game will break without the updated creation?

afaik he does have the ability to buff a general store and technically you can send him somewhere else after the initial recruitment if you don't want to deal with his dialogue (I don't think I've ever bothered recruiting him though)

trying to figure out sensible provisioner paths in the souths is such a pain also, I hate that both Murkwater and Warwick basically don't have a path that avoids Quincy

Settler and settlement management is different in Far Harbor (for example you can’t create doctors). So if you sent the Rep to Longfellow’s cabin first that may be why you can’t move him and can’t assign him to a trading store.

There's many competitors that Bethesda could fight against even in current times (CDPR, Potentially Playground Games with Fable, etc.) but they aren't going anywhere because the IPs are that powerful. While I do somewhat understand the Twitch vs Kick analogy, it's a bit unfitting because of the vast problems between the two. Bethesda vs any other RPG dev would just be what IPs they bring to the table, but they can both thrive in the same ecosystem without much competition too. In my view, Bethesda have their own style compared to anyone else and it's hard to really hit the same marks. People can do better, but I think Bethesda games are special in their own way and that's the charm.

Ammo boxes are not a bad place to look. Your LCK stat has no effect on what you find. Or anything much at all. The Luck perk tree does contain Scrounger which will get you more ammo (but not necessarily better/rarer ammo).
The only thing LCK stat does in the game directly is increase the rate at which you regain Criticals.

Given all the tension, I doubt they'd delay it if it was ready. My personal opinion is that the mod size update would be the easiest thing to do, but making sure the PS issue goes alongside is the priority along with maybe a couple other bug fixes so that this can be the magical final update and they can focus their attention on the next project. I’m not sure about Series S but on the X, I was able to get rid of this by clearing the reserve space (which you’ve said you’ve tried). To follow what Trog was saying, you should see an option to manage game. From there, you should see an option to clear saved date or storage (I’m not in front of my console). Clear the storage.

But do be warned that you should 1) take photos or screenshots of your LO and 2) redownload them going from largest to smallest.

Out of curiosity, did you make a new save on app playthroughs prior to the AE update in November?

I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it but I remember the announcement telling us to ensure a new save was created prior to the update.

thats what i mean they are good in rpg but they drifted away from that. they have a big monopol on their ips... elder scrolls, fallout. good games, big time. maybe its just got to their heads. i know money rules the world and yeah having bread on the table is a good thing but bethesda trying to ultra capitalize everything shows what the higher ups really want and thats a liquid money flow with low effort and no care for old fans. i cant even blame them the fallout show and fallout 76 makes them so much. its not like years ago when bethesda was a indie studio trying to get known with their knew enigens and style of game programming. today its like bethesda forgot to hop on the train to capitalize everything like ubisoft and other studios with micro transactions and its so cringe for the real bethesda fans because they f'ed up to be like big money studios with cash grabbing intuition and the higher ups hate that they dont got hold of that because the fanbase is not like the casuals.

Ok, so on my current playthrough of Fallout 4 on Xbox the quest Taking Independence never started. I cleared the castle before the quest like I always do so the Minutemen don't die. I've maxed out Preston's Affinity and Built the Signal Interceptor there. I have all the settlements except Spectacle Island, and all the egg clutches, Mirelurk Queen corpse are still there. All Preston does is keep giving me settlement quests and never brings up the castle. Any ideas?

It could be - you used to have mods and they left "stuff" behind so you might need to uninstall and delete the folders, or you have a damaged FO4 install and need to verify files, or maybe you have a weird new bug I've never heard of that was added by the Anakin Edition (it hates sand).

The 100GB mod increase WAS set for December but then they said "EARLY" 2026 which means January to one and a half weeks into February...

Respectfully, I'd appreciate you don't imply that I think everything is perfectly fine and there's no problems because I actually have shown my sympathy and respect to those suffering these problems lately. I get that the update got delayed several times, people in this server have even been trying to help provide ideas and delve into why it's happening with varying results, I'm just saying you can't expect answers if there's still difficulty in fixing the problem. They tried to say when it'd be out, it backfired twice, they're now taking their time to do it at their own pace. I just think the daily routine of finding things to blame and say "they shouldn't have done this" isn't a very "realistic" approach, personally.
