Unfortunately that's something I had, no idea what was the cause at the time, but I think it was a common issue that Bethesda had seemingly fixed or something, because I haven't had it happen since the Anniversary Edition.

Problem is, I’ve tried that with Skyrim SE when it tried doing that, and it continues to do that still

And I’ve never had this issue before the Anniversary Edition; so I’m just gonna go off on a limb and say something Bethesda did borked my game with this most recent update

I’ll try installing it again, but if this happens a second time I’m done- it’s clear then that Bethesda doesn’t want me to give them any more of my business if the only other game that I could mod and not have that problem now has the very same problem I encountered in Skyrim

You’re probably running into the archive limit. Remove the extra mods one at a time and try to play in between.

Specially enemies will be stuck, sometimes blow to pieces but still stated as alive with blood still coming even when bodies are gone, and weird color glitches like water being purple.

Try scrolling down the Pinned Messages up there, there are some troubleshooting links, but also the 150 Creations are part of AE and to know if they're working and downloaded the first time, is to go out and find them accidentally in game.

I can't speak to Game Pass anymore, so I don't know if they're having problems with the Creation store that integrates Windows security and device security / permissions etc. The Steam Goty is on sale for 13.37$ here. As well as GOG. But the Xbox play on anything is probably a game changer, there will just be bugs as all of this industry change happens.

That is strange. Best bet is to uninstall/reinstall, then power cycle, including unplugging the console for about a minute or two to clear the cache. Your save files should be safe as long as you have cloud saves turned on.

PSA - the GOG .com PC version of FO4 GOTY is 75% off today, down to $10. This is the old old version that works but has no Creations support. This version also supports the 1-click install of Fallout London which is really good.

Note: all versions of FO4 use the same folder for save games and ini files so while you can install both the Steam and GOG versions at the same time, you then need to do something like renaming the save folder when you want to switch between them.

It is advised to keep the default settings and play the game with a 60fps cap. The fps cap that the game uses is determined by your monitor refresh rate (typically 60Hz or 120Hz), and dividing it by the "iPresentInterval" value.

However dont buy anniversary edition unless you want more content as it may break your game and if your new i want you to have a safe and problem less experience first rather than breaking your game and never being able to play it.

To clearify the subscription only lets you get free items or deals in the shop via the fallout 1st section aswell as some scorecard (battlepass) rewards and gives you access to the survival camp quick placement aswell ass the ammo cabnet (for infinite ammo storage) and the scrapbox (infinite scrap holder that auto scraps junk you put in it) to save space in your 1200 weight stashbox

The game is always in survival (with minor debuffs for not taking care of needs)

Its entirely optional but just like eso it will make you micro manage what you keep and dont keep to a extent if you dont have it

Its not like final fantasy 14 online where you need a subscription to access the friends list and social menu or to access the rest of the game after the first town

Look for location description in the Creation's page, or google it and go find it in game, but as long as they're downloaded, you also just loot every body, read every note/letter/holotape and go in every location at the right moment to find the creation by accident and not miss the loot, if it's not interfering with a mission or two that you're already on.

It's neat: As you progress through the Brotherhood questline, they start to slowly lose the anti Ghoul theatrics. Once you become a Paladin the Brotherhood loses almost all anti Ghoul sentiments. But once you become Sentinel, (I decided to do a playthrough as a Ghoul a few weeks back, to see how I'd like it) they outright respect you like no other.

The Brotherhood may be gruff towards normal Ghouls but they consider them as civilians like any other ordinary Wastelander. In fact, when you take Paladin Danse to The Slog with you, when talking to Wiseman, he's respectful and calls him a civilian.

Yeah, Danse is admittedly a jerk to the Vault Tec Rep, but I mean, he's former Vault Tec.

But he certainly isn't a jerk towards Kent. He's outright grateful to assist him against the thugs and Raiders that are harming Goodneighbor.

Focus on military fortifications for the perimeter. Try to build a makeshift nissen hut or two lined with beds or a line of bunks if you have them.
Meanwhile let the civilians keep their housing. The main point is separation of military personnel from the civilian populace.

Oh and it is essential to set up an armory with cheap laser weapons, a power armor station, and a weapons merchant

Ah gotcha, unfortunately, that's related to the new system. In order to download a mod, you basically have to have available space double the size of the mod you're downloading. It's just how the current system works & will be an annoyance until the future storage expansion. Best workaround is to delete and redownload your mods but do it in the order of biggest mod to smallest.

Stealth is always really finicky in Fallout anyways, I've found even with it maxed out it wouldn't always work right, and Suppressors don't work like they do in either New Vegas or 3.

(i use steam) How can i downgrade my game files to before the last 2 major updates so that i can have a hassle free experience with mods?
(yk, the 2 major updates which broke a lot of stuff and introduced new issues. Should need no introduction)

I really want to get back into modded fallout 4 but these 2 updates have me avoiding doing so as ive read up about how much these 2 updates have broken the game all in the name of a small uplift in content with the creation club. Since i dont use the creation club and see no value in these 2 objectively broken updates, i want to know how i can just go back to when it all "just worked". Besides, the small poultry amount of bug fixes they added within them brought more harm than good, with the unofficial fallout 4 patch still being the go-to for bug fixes anyways

If you have a jailbroken playstation 4, you can actually mod your game btw. There is a very small modding community for console skyrim and fallout 4 on playstation. Somebody supposedly even made a very proof of concept mod loader on there. Impressive stuff since some pc mods kinda work too!

Thanks! But the mods aren't the problem. The thing is that with this anniversary update edition they broke the dlcs. Even though you bought them and have them they appear as uninstalled and you can't install them back, so that also affects a variety of mods :(. For example I can't even open my last playthrough as my Loading Order would be f*ed up because the lack of dlcs

The last update fully fixed all of my issues on series x outside of the game still running kind of mid (but that as to be expected, fallout 4 has always run wonky) and they have another patch planned for soon, my guess is it will eventually work normally for everyone

Swans pond where you enter the vault/subway station and where you exit with him are crash hot spots. on xbox one it was the choppiest i have ever seen a game and on series it seems to be smooth but crashes more there. it feels like the smoother the constant fps (not hitches and spikes which are cpu related) the more likely it is to crash in that area. when the game was really choppy it crashed less for some odd reason

I would never want a port of any Playstation version of Bethesda games, they run so garbage and always have content left out from other versions.
Oblivion, for example, had at least 2 or 3 DLCs that never went to Playstation but their in game stuff still exist.

Ok so creation club got update and merged the mods and cc stuff together into a. New things called creations. The CC stuff are separate now and can be brought as a dlc and you get all 150 Creation club items with it.

Creations like the ghoul one cost money but the others on there that aren’t registered by offical mod creations don’t cost money. So basically it’s a larger version of Creation club

So creations will not come with the AE but creation club content will

Note that if you have mods you have to do Modern equivalent of dark magic to get ur game to work. So I would create a back up of all the files before buying it if you do. Theres a chance it’ll break your game and a chance it won’t. Others dont recommend it well I do but it’s your money so I would so more research before you buy it

I haven't had that happen with Fallout 4 yet, but tried to mod Skyrim last year and I couldn't even open the load order without a crash every few minutes, took a long time to rearrange mods.
With Fallout 4 I usually just backout every so often when getting creations to make sure it doesn't screw up and undo my load order.

Speaking of Creations, I may have screwed up downloading "Locked and Loaded: Gunner's Addon", I tried going near a Gunners spot and there's a freaking Warmaster who just explodes me the second I get close.

It's Clarity UI. Mod description states that a bug persists that causes crashing when you go to pause menu. Definitely a good idea to check mod descriptions, especially for older mods.

My crashes seem just kind of random, like early today a baseball bat beat my game into a crash.

You most likely have a mod combo that's nullifying the pause menu crash, which is cool. But all versions of Clarity UI have it stated in the description that they cause pause menu crashes.

😅 Probably. A similar situation is occuring with the old DEF_UI mods. It causes crashes on the NexGen Update, but if ordered properly along with other UI mods, the crashes don't happen & I'm able to use most of the DEF_UI features, except for UI presets.

After playing fallout 4 just about daily for the last 5 years, I am now playing Fallout 3 for the first time in 10 years. It feels so much more polished than fo4. One example is when interacting with npc's, there are a lot of varied hand gestures and body language. In fo4, aside from Piper, it feels like every npc just stands still with arms by their side and speaks. Is there a mod to add more body language to fo4?

as someone who has also gone back to fo3 after many years I am enjoying how it is and presents itself. the animations and poses during some conversations are pretty cool to see. I also am enjoying some of the old mods I used to run way back in fo3. As for fo4 I had at one point a mod that made a few people more lively but I cant find it on nexus now looking for it to link., 🤔

I also noticed in fo3, when you bring up the pipboy, it is totally a seamless transition. In fallout 4, I seem to experience a hiccup stutter when hitting the button to bring up the pipboy. It's hardly noticeable, but it's there. I'm betting there is a mod for that too, but not sure what it would be called.

Question all: I'm going through the "Powering Up" Institute Quest, and once completed, the Achievement is not popping. No mods, so no restrictions on Achievements. Playing on Xbox Series X.

I've tried the Quest twice now.

I'm going to try again on another platform (the last time this happened with a Minute Man quest, going to my Xbox One X and doing the quest there resolved things), but to confirm:

I'm actually working for the Railroad and waiting for Z1 to start his uprising, and one of his Synths runs in to chat with me right when "Powering Up" completes. Does being with the Railroad prevent this Achievement from popping by design, or no?

I really like the tiered blueprints and junk of Dune: Awakening and ARC Raiders. Kind of late in FO4 modding but hope in next FO iteration, BGS assigns tiered faction specific blueprints only constructible w specific junk (materials). Each faction sandbox harvests-hoards that junk to enable and sustain its tech of gear (weapons, armor-clothing-wearable) and residences (machines, housing type, clutter). You can learn blueprints from other factions but requires you to enter a storyline connected to them or you loot by chance based on taking over their control points. To make their respective goods you need to have their junk type for yourself, and if for your own faction you need in bulk (and processed by their blueprint linked machines to produce efficiently)
