i feel like that update added enough grenade launchers already, but maybe they could put in the m79 grenade launcher, and if not, then the light machine gun

the hatchet and bowie knife would be fun for new melee weapons

same with the chainsaw, give us the chainsaw too

and some of the thrown items would be cool

all those, plus some skins for guns would be the best 10 year anniversary

There are large portions of the country that have either only been mentioned in the games so far or haven't been addressed at all. It'd be nice if we ever get another FO game that they move it away from the east and west coasts and focus more on the center of the country

NY would most likely have been completely obliterated, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and a large part of Wyoming, Kansas, Nebraska and the Northeastern part of Colorado would be unlivable, based on a theoretical outcome of a nuclear war. Minnesota wouldn't fair too well either.

it makes me mad whenever people go "Oh NYC and all these other places would be a giant crater based off of a map where nukes would go in a all out nuclear exchange in the real world"

its a game, thats world is still developing, there are several games (that arent fallout tho) where NYC has been nuked and its explorable, and Bethesda can make whatever story they want, if they want to take it to NY, they'll do it and retcon anything said about NYC previously, not to mention, the capital wasteland DC area is explorable, despite it surely would be turned into a crater if a nuclear war happened as it houses many command and control centers, political leaders, and civil and military infrastructure

DC would actually fair pretty well as the Pentagon is not even in DC but across the Potomac in Arlington, Virginia and the main command and control centers for military and civilian infrastructure are in Nebraska, Colorado, Florida and Illinois. The only thing that would really be a target in DC is the political leaders who would've long since evacuated at the first sign of trouble. We are also talking about nukes you don't need to turn a city like NYC into a crater to obliterate it.

To my knowledge, University Point is the only one. So chance are this is more of a Mod thing than it is with the base game.

To have access to the Nuka-World robot parts, including the space lasers, you must:
Have the Automatron DLC installed and have started the questline by meeting Ada. This enables robot mods to be dropped by defeated enemies.
Complete the "Star Control" quest in the Galactic Zone of Nuka-World. This should unlock all the Nuka-World robot parts for crafting at the robot workbench.

The mods for Nuka-World robot parts can be looted from the robots you destroy in the Galactic Zone, particularly within the RobCo Battlezone. If they aren't available for crafting, you may be able to find them on defeated enemies.

There have been reports from players who completed the Nuka-World main story before starting Automatron that some Nuka-World robot mods do not unlock correctly. Specifically, the automatic space laser has been noted as sometimes missing.

In all of my playthroughs, I've never given Mama Murphy any chems. I usually just ignore everyone from Concord except Preston. He gets ignored once I max out his affinity

I typically only use companions until I max out their affinities, at which point I just ship them off to a settlement never to be seen again. As for Cait, I go the super lazy route to raise her affinity. I stock pile a ton of hard liquor, fast travel to red rocket and strip down, and then start fast traveling between red rocket and starlight drive in, drinking after each fast travel. Usually have her maxed out within an hour.

its always crazy to me that Fallout 4 did so well in so much except for the story, the story was actively a step back from literally all prior games, so they released far harbor to try and "fix" that right? but then.... the whole island is empty as all get out and the locations are all mostly related to the "main quest" of fair harbor

The reason I think literally any other story is better is you can make it your own, I don't even need to go into the many examples just look at intelligent dialogs.

You have no real connection to your wife or son unlike Fallout 3 where you get much much time to get to know them and explore that relationship. in 4 they just shove you into the ice cream machine and send you off

Finally broke the 100 hour mark on Fallout 4, thanks to my Steam Deck.

This points directly to why I can roleplay my own stories so much easier in Fallout 4. After the interminable prelude in the vault, I am locked into playing the story Bethesda wants me to play. In Fallout 3 every character I play is a 19-year old searching for father. The more bare-bones beginning of Fallout 4 allows me to go my own way without fighting the game. I can easily skip Codsworth and Sanctuary and join one of the factions in the game without doing the main quest at all. In this, I think Fallout 4 resembles an Elder Scrolls game. There is not a lot to do in Fallout 3 except the main quest. My one complaint against Fallout 4 is the voiced protagonist. That feature does severely limit roleplaying.

This is a known bug that is a common occurrence... You either have to use a mod to force the quest stage or delete all that character saves and start a new game... And hope it doesn't happen again... Check your fire- bug.

if you don’t listen to the signal immediately after getting the quest it bugs out. you can complete the quest by exploring the Harbormaster Hotel, which is where the signal would have sent you

there's mods that fix issues like that unless it explicitely is coded to not work on machines. if ur talking about the automaton dlc that would do it cuz the dlcs didnt really work well with each other if not patched

I remember in new vegas the grunt perk didn't work on weapons in any dlc even when they should, so there needed to be a dedicated fix

Does anyone know if the glitch fixes longer down the road for Danes? I ran into the glitch of killing ghouls early on but after they are all dead nothing proceeds (I did this early game on vanilla PC) so I was reading keep going in and you’ll get a BOS quest and it will be fixed or the molecular level. I am at the molecular level now and I can talk to him but once I say I’ll join and he is going to ask me questions it goes back to the same line of dialect about loading up to kill the ghouls again. Idk if there is something else I can do or wait for another quest?

Never has fixed itself in my experience, I've come back multiple times 50-200 hours later on multiple characters and he is still bugged out.
Your going to have to delete all that character saves and start a new save, or use the console or mod to force the quest stage.

Why were game breaking bugs and crashes never fixed in the last 10+ years?

According to a couple of reddit posts, this seems to be a bug that others have encountered. The bug seems related to building part of the settlement of Jamaica Plains above certain buildings. I'm not sure if that helps or not, but here's a link to one of the posts.

Depends on the platform Playstation impossible, Xbox you'll have to find a mod if there is one, PC a mod or if you know what .esm's and .esl's to remove you take them out of the games install directory.

But if you disable them in an ongoing game you'll break your save.

There's sort of a way you can do it yourself.
Have a mod that adds every weapon and armor, etc... To say sanctuary, and a mod that shows all map markers and has them as discovered.
Pick your outfit and weapon, fast travel, start your roleplay from that point.

Fallout London is really good, and despite what the bunch of July 2024 reviews on GOG say it doesn't crash any more than regular Fallout now a year later and with 2 updates. If you wait a bit longer the .03 update is coming "soon" with more fixes and some DLC goodness. If you buy FO4 from GOG the London install is completely automated.

It's also huge, like another full FO4 not just a DLC

Depends on your CHA stat and if you've taken the vendor perks. DON'T take the vendor perks -- if you hoard all the loots and sell them you'll eventually be swimming in caps. Loot note: adhesive, oil, screws, fiber optics, nuclear material are scarce if you want to build settlements and mod gear. For armor you'll also need some cork, fiberglass, and later on ballistic fiber.

More like Stormcloaks vs Imperials I'd say, except you can join both at once and do quests up to the point where you choose a side. There are four main factions that you'll run into. Radio note: "distress signal" alert popping up at the top-right of screen leads to one of the factions. "Caravan" one leads to the Automatron DLC that you don't want to start for a long tiime. It turns on the equivalent of the Elder Scrolls assassination squads except more annoying

So here's an interesting bit of experience i gained the last 24 hours.

Fallout 4 has felt absolutely horrendous.
The game itself runs fine, but whenever i look from side to side everything jitters and it's just not playable.

I have high framerate in Fallout 4 if i want to. I know all about how this can screw physics.
I've tried every fix there is, even the one with F4SE.
I've tried all .ini file fixes.
I've tried all mouse input fixes

Nothing works.

So in a last ditch effort i connected my Xbox controller to PC.. lo and behold, it's smooth as silk.

If it's my mouse or software, I do not know. But I'm in the Battlefield 6 beta and it works perfectly there, so i doubt it's my mouse.

So I guess I'll play Fallout 4 with a controller.. suits me just fine, I guess.
It's funny though, that my Steam Deck runs Fallout so much smoother and less annoyingly than my PC xD

I played with cheat terminal up to where you ||kill kellogg|| last night. If I was to restart the game vanilla what point do you think I could get to before I just had to do other quests to get my ammo armor level and caps up before continuing bc that fort was kind of difficult even with the best power armor in the game

Like can I drop off the t45 power armor at the red rocket truck stop till I can get another power core and parts and such

Settlements you own are safe storage, some you build can reset though, you'd have to check the wiki for safe storage explanations.

You can ditch the power armor, you will find plenty more throughout the game.

Too many imo, is why I use the mod "some assembly required" it makes power armor special.

there is also usually other bits besides words that the game will pick up as something, those can be various things including the terminal removing a few wrong words or resettings your Tries

Minigun is a bad gun for the player -- give it with 1 round of 5mm to a settler / the sanctuary crew (they magically can use that 1 bullet forever). Best guns long-term are rifles and automatic rifles. Gatling Laser is fun but chews through the same fusion cores you need for power armor

Bc the main quests in Skyrim and oblivion are like 10 hours each 😂

I think the FO4 main quest is better than the Skyrim civil war and dragon revival, but that's just me. Also in FO4 there are 4 factions not 2 and you can stay on the good side of more than one of them.

so I had Preston as a companion when || raiding the institute with the BoS and dismissed him during the assault. || I’m now trying to find him to hand in some quests and have the overseer’s most wanted quest active. They both point to Preston being in the || institute which is destroyed||

Without console commands you can't teleport companions, unless there's an xbox mod for that .At least he won't nag you about settlements that need your help any more 🙂

a mod in your LO got removed from bethnet its not like som1 else says keep trying ur locked out for good until you clear you reserved data on xbox

this has been an issue since the Next Gen Update aswell as no longer being able to be offline and play with mods but its been more then a year later and still no fix, i think its safe to say bethesda does not give a feck about Fallout 4 anymore

its honestly disgraceful and we all have severe stockholm syndrome for sticking with a studio like this

I wasn't locked out for good, I kept opening the mod menu, it stays open varying amounts of time, after 4 hours of this, I was able to install 99 mods... Playstation doesn't have reserve data that can be cleared.

so.. fallout 4 has buggin out for me. reasons unknown

I saved at some bed after killing a Hermit Crab, and then couldn’t progress further. It just crashes

like, it either doesn’t make it past the loading screen, or it runs for about a minute then crashes suddenly

If anyone knows any solutions, let me know.

Do you keep a long chain of saves so you can go back 1 save without losing much progress? That's the safest way to play Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

What I did was delete the top two saves. I was left with the oldest one being the start of far harbor dlc and the first save I had at the bed.

Then I deleted the beginning of dlc one. I did quite a lot of troubleshooting. I just hope it’ll work when I get on

I cleared the Alternate MAC Address. I power cycled my Xbox. I restarted my Xbox. Deleted reserve space. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I did basically everything they said to do, and to no avail.

I did do the Alternate MAC Address thing, so it should fix it. I think that’s what’s fixed it once before but idk

It's hard to say. Creations might not have been updated properly to work with the FO4 update, or they might have bugs, or two of them might be fighting each other. Or maybe you played too long without restarting your console and the console itself was messed up. I've had really weird behavior in other games if I go too long without restarting my console. Sleep doesn't fix things the way restart or true power down does.

You can go to Nuka-World straight from the vault, at level 1.
