If you want really good armor early in the game, your best option is buying it from a vendor. Black Ops, Destroyer's, and Overseer's Combat Armor sets are all great to start, albeit expensive. You'll have to mix and match though

Robotics disposal ground east of sanctuary has a sentry that you can self destruct giving u 2 fusion cores and a bit more east theres a crashed vertibird with a suit of power armor

Overseers combat armor is too expensive for early game when u can get a power armor and 3 fusion cores all in the time of walking to vault 81

Well, you could also get the power armor from the roof of the Museum of Freedom. And you can do it without talking to Preston if you jump from the church roof. And there's a fusion core in the cave under Red Rocket.

All that would take like 10-12 minutes maybe if you take the time to actually kill the molerats

A cheap way is by going south passed diamond city and toward Jamaica Plain and entertaining the larger building closest to the workbench area. There’s a dead woman with an almost full suit of combat armor minus the helmet. Only issue is the large amount of ghouls, so just kill or run.

Honestly, by the time you calculate the net cost of crafting anything with Purified Water, you're better off just selling the water.

It has a value of 20

Making and selling Jet is also a great way to make money.

Its components are plastic and fertilizer, which are super easy to get. Its net value is 48, and weight is 0.1.

If your carry capacity is 250, and 50 of that is taken up by armor & weapon, and if you sell each jet for 50% value, you'd still net almost 5000 caps.

Not to mention how often you can find Jet just lying around.

I'm doing a no-mod survival run right now, and one of the first things I did was become a Jet dealer.

If their Happiness/Morale gets to low which can drop if they don't have enough beds, water, food and not helping to defend them enough times. IIRC they can also lose Happiness if you fail Minutemen quests. To regain control IIRC you need to talk to people in the lost settlement to get a quest.

Are you referring to the green border you see in the settlement build mode? If that's it then it's always been that way it's part of the vanilla game. But if you're seeing it outside of build mode then I have no idea.

Can anyone help me with a bug? My vertibirds started flying through terrain and buildings after installing America Rising 2 mod. I think that's the culprit, but when I uninstalled it and made new games without it, the problem persists. Maybe it has been a problem for a longer time and I just then started to notice it as I was flying with vertibirds more. In some cases the vertibird flys through ground so when there is a hill between you and the target then it just flies through totally noclipping. One time I even had the screen turn black as I flew through a building and into somekind of entrance and the game told me to "dismount my horse" before going forward.

If you start a new game without the mod you think is creating an issue and the issue still persists then it's not that mod so I'd check for anything to do with vertibirds in your mod Loader but potentially it may also just be a base game glitch because I can't remember exactly but iirc I've had this happen to me without mods

When I flew between Sanctuary Hills and a location added by AR2, then that was the only trajectory I've seen the vertibird fly straight in the shortest route possible through mountains and bridges and buildings

I haven't seen this happen before. Water production always happens unless there is a limit to how much water can be stored in workshop, in that I'm not sure.

Sometimes it seems like if I just sleep in the same settlements that I'm waiting water production from then it doesn't spawn until I leave the area and come back but that doesn't seem to always happen

Is anyone else really torn between factions? I can't decide for the life of me what faction should I go forward with.

I like Institute, I don't mind their grey morality, but replacing people with synths and creating them in a way that is dangerous to humans sounds like a big no-no. Even just inside the institute. Also I'd want them to be more connected to the commonwealth instead of just sending robots, I want an army

Next in the list is BOS, but they don't really care for the commonwealth and being a part of it yourself feels like being in a holy order where you don't get to have a normal life yourself. Also, if you were ruled by BOS, then you wouldn't want them taking over. But at the same time they guarantee your safety, but not from raiders. It's kinda odd that they'd take your weapons and remove your ability to defend yourself from raiders. But I totally agree with their world view of destroying ghouls and super mutants and synths.

Railroad not even worth talking about.

Minutemen are good, but weak af. Like they have no centralized governance and pretty sure it will all fall apart. I also find it hard to believe that they are even able to destroy BOS or Institute and the human losses are so great that why would anyone want to be a part of that. They also are only a reactionary force so they don't really go out to destroy dangerous lifeforms.
They seem totally unorganized and like they'd immideatly be destroyed at the first contact with a foreign power. Even when a good general were to die.

If you have America Rising 2 then Enclave is one option. I really like the idea of a strong governance, especially considering they somewhat have a right to call themself a continuation of old world. To be in the Enclave is good but being ruled by them would probably be pretty bad. I also feel bad for the human experimentation on innocent people and I don't feel particularily justfied in killing radiated people just because they don't fit into the "pure" human category.

I've been trying to make a minutemen playthrough on survival but I keep getting one-shotted. Anyone got any tips? I don't want to side with Railroad or use power armor so these are out. I also rather not use stealth if possible, as it seems weird for a general to hide his ass. I've decked my armor out as good as I can but it still isn't enough. The mutant hounds kill me really fast and once you get overwhelmed by ghouls it's game over.

I finished up the main quest for the first time yesterday, went with "The Nuclear Option" with the Minutemen. For the Quest, I took Dogmeat with me. At the end of the Quest, when I got to the top of the Mass Fusion Building and set off the nuke, I then told Preston to follow me and sent Dogmeat back to Sanctuary Hills, but now I can't find him.

I built the Vault Tec terminal to track him, and it shows Dogmeat where the Institute used to be. I travel there and not only can I not find him, but the Compass doesn't agree with the map marker and just has me keep on walking.

Long story short, I think Dogmeat is still in the Institute, which is no longer accessible. I last saw him in the Reactor room.

I'm playing on Xbox Series X/Xbox One X. Outside of Mods (which I'm not using), is there any way to get him back?

Not the end of the world if I can't, just kind of sad.

I built a prison for preston. 20 turrets guarding his cell, broken toilet and a dirty mattress because sleeping bag is too comfy. His cell also has just a tiny peek hole to get air.

It's not a settlement,so no supply line, there is no workshop like home plate so can't customize... Fizz top is just somewhere to store your stuff until you unlock nuka red rocket.

A better place to make "home" while in nuka world is the market, store your stuff in a workbench, there is a bed and a doctor, and all other merchants.

You can get the quest automatically when you get in range of one of the distress signals from the reconnaissance team.
