Having a source for resources to craft antibiotics is easy to establish.
You'll never be sick, and you should have a purified water source aswell, so the chems making you thirsty isn't an issue.

You don't have to know every inch of the game, you will stumble upon beds frequently without even looking.

How do i make 100 happiness settlement

Dlcs or mods are very helpful for doing this, you'll need vault workshop and wasteland workshop
Pets like cats give 5 happiness, gorrilas give 20 if you evacuated the institution (wasteland)
Some items from doing the vault workshop quests can give happiness depending on your choices, pommel horse and weight bench give happiness aswell
each settler in the settlement needs

• a bed under shelter (to avoid rain) and a bed in general
• 1 food 1 water per settler
• be assigned to a Job
• 1 unit of defence
  To get maximum happiness, robots will keep happiness at only 50% (not curie and codsworth)

Shops will also increase happiness
Bars and clinics bring the most happiness, especially when at tier 3

I've just heard people complain about the crashes on console (both XB and PS) coming at very inopportune times, like when the last bed they saw was over two hours ago.

the only problem i have really is ever since that update the game is just frame rate issues and it was butter smooth before that

Easiest way is by getting 6 people in a settlement, assign 5 to tier 3 bars, last one to farm crops. It’ll take time but happiness will increase. You also need the basics like beds and defense. (Make sure the beds are under a roof!) and of course water, you’d only need two water pumps at the minimum

I did this at sunshine tidings co-op, but I believe you can get the achievement almost anywhere if that’s what you’re aiming for

This is untrue. I'm playing a modded Fallout 4 (GOTYE) and have about 60 hours on my current run without one crash. Previous runs were just as flawless.
Many of the crashes can be attributed to hardware instability, mods, or bad configuration settings.

It is true, day one bugs still exist, the next gen version is a port, they fixed nothing, the same bugs you experienced on last gen are still there... The crashes and bugs are because the engine is terribly flawed.

If you are running next-gen, then yes, I agree with you.
Next-gen is less stable than the GOTYE of Fallout 4.
Important to note that I am referring to the GOTYE on PC. Not next-gen and not console.

Bugs? - yes.
Crashes/instability? - All I can say is that I am not experiencing any in the old GOTYE.

In next-gen, there is a proven performance issue with any mod that edits NPCs (even if the edit is innocuous).
There is also an issue with getting into the Creation section and using creations.

What sucks is that Bethesda hasn't even acknowledged these issues (or that they are working on a fix), as far as I am aware.

You're definitely not alone. They haven't changed up the discounts much in almost a year. They just shuffle the "featured" creations every couple of months. Existing discounts got stale a long time ago. No CC love this month. At this point, I don't think they'll change anything until they decide to do something for "Fallout Day," which would be Oct 23rd. Maybe early October.

Hello, all. I have searched far and wide and hope someone has some advice. I am on my second playthrough with no mods on Xbox One. In the Reunions quest, I am stuck at the door in the basement where I have to confront Kellogg, and the dialogue does not trigger. I've changed companions and returned, uninstalled and reinstalled, and done everything short of reloading from a previous save, which I don't want to do because the save I would have to use is so far back. I know, I know...always be saving. All of the fixes are for PC except for this mod. I found Quest Manipulation Program Holotape® (Base) [WIP], but it doesn't seem active. I've already played through the Minuteman ending, mainly because I screwed up the first time and finished too soon. Can I avoid this quest? And if so, can I still get Nick Valentine's perk?

Farmhand Clothes is as close as you can come. IMO.
With UCO mod you can ballistic weave every outfit, underarmor, and armor piece.

You can start and stop any quest anytime.
But, automatron is buggy, I would complete it to see if it's bugged for you, so you can decide if you want to restart a new playthrough or not. So you don't waste time progressing other stuff on a bugged save.
Make a hard save before starting it, so you can revert and try again, it may not bug out the next time.

Same goes for the Danse check your fire bug, best to get past that point as early as possible, just progress his quest to after Arcjet.

Some folks think jack-of-all trade characters are boring. Myself, I roleplay many different types of characters and I want each one to feel unique. I don't want my current character to be a clone of my last character. So my characters tend to specialize.

Jack of all trades are wack, you tend to become omnipotent, able to handle any situation.
I much prefer a challenge, so sticking to the roleplay, it has strengths and weaknesses,you must overcome, or if you can't, having that limitation is awesome, makes each roleplaythrough different and interesting.

You can shelve it for later, but once you start Automatron there will be a lot of random encounters and settlement attacks from Rust Devils and they don't stop until you complete the questline

How about an exploding minigun? For the first time I encountered such a weapon recently when looting the body of a super mutant. That is, I got killed by a super mutant after taking what seemed like one shot. What kind of a weapon does this guy have, I thought? Wow! To make a long story short, I finally managed to kill him. When looting his cold dead body I retrieved an exploding minigun. Maybe you can find one of those?

It's not too much to hope for. I think that's exactly what they're doing but Starfield is the priority project right now, especially with Shattered Space on the horizon.

What I think is good role-playing is being able to create a character how you want and not having a forced backround, (Like having a wife and kid prior to being able to play, or being responsible for ending an entire town without any player choice) deal with an issue more than one way, Not needing to do X to progress the story, and not having a horrible 4 choice wheel that is just "Yes" 3 times (one being sarcastic) and one option is just "No, but actually yes" or "Perhaps"

fallout 4 has quite a lot of choice after you teleport to the institute, you can attack any faction other than the failsafe one
its also already a pretty big game so having a set background saves a lot of time that wouldve been wasted on writing and recording a bunch of different lines

I think the way i'd write this out in a "Revolutionary War" style way is use the Institute in the same role as the French where you DID just beat them but they are still around and you can ally them with the minutemen

The reason i compare the British Empire with the BOS is due to their expansion into the commonwealth

The way i would have written Fallout 4 would be.

1. Nate/Nora wake up into 2287. Their son is kidnapped and the first act of the game happens how you think.

We can join the Brotherhood of Steel, help synths, expand as the Minutemen. In this story, the minutemen are more like the Yes Man ending of NV where you can ally with multiple factions. Your minutemen can ally with the Brotherhood or Railroad to stop the institute.

The institute in this first act is very much like a splinter faction staying hidden and lead by Kellogg. Probably stopping some evil plan or whatever they are cooking. So instead of finding the guy who stole ur son, ur also stopping an institute scheme.

2. Brotherhood of Steel show up and like Fallout 4's ending with the BOS. They already have soldiers planted around. Quartering people's settlements. Taking your weapons. Forcing trade with them

3. You still have to find the institute but you're whitnessing the absolute growth of the BOS and treating the minutemen like 2nd class citizens.

4. You can either side with the institute to stop the BOS with your minutemen. Or remain with the BOS and enforce their legislation on the commonwealth.

I would LOVE for a full 2nd act of the game to just be a long war against these 2 factions. Settlement building would be way more interesting if the places you're taking over were Brotherhood Outposts.

I know it changes some of the raider armor if you reach 61 but I haven’t seen it do anything for power armor. I think the best chance to find t60 armor was like level 24. It’s pretty annoying since the dlc is recommended to be level 30 so there’s already a higher chance to find X01. It’s not impossible to find t60 but the higher the level, it feels like lower the chance 😕

To get the best ending, you’d had to infiltrate the Children of Atom and get into the control room at the highest point and do Faraday’s program. It’s probably the worst part of the dlc so I’d just find a walkthrough and glitch the last one by placing blocks through the red barricade and place turrets where the game wants to beam to be. This will give you enough info to find the best solution for all far harbor factions.

Hard to say without a mod list, try unplugging console from everything, let it sit for like 30 seconds, plug in and restart and see what happens

I've been mistaken about how long it's been since the CC sale updated. They changed it in August on the day Quakecon started, Thursday, Aug. 8th. If they follow the "usual schedule" of bimonthly updates, it's due for another change either Thursday of this week or next. But, nobody hold their breath. VATS is broken on consoles. Bethesda claims they support modding. But, a lot of modding for Fallout 4 is broken by the next gen update. They don't seem to intend patching the game any further. Parts of the game remain broken.

The claim that modding is broken on the NG Update is a vast exaggeration. Yes, there's the issue with NPC stutters, but that's nowhere near enough to stop people from modding the game.
As for them intending to or not, nobody can actually say. They have a lot going on so it may not be a priority, because the game still works just fine, but they DO know about the issue.

Hey can someone please help me! I havent played my fallout save in a while and I noticed they rolled out the next gen update but when I loaded up my save today it feels like I have lost a whole lot of progression...

I can't tell if my memory is bad because I have played the game so many times that I think I've done certain things within this save when I actually havent or not but if anyone else has had a similar issue that would greatly help.

@jagged kindle I recently had the same issue with the Mechanist quest (secret door would not open after bot scanned it). I have since given up trying to play the game on Xbox and moved to playing on PC - I feel your frustration

I have problemsolver and two shot handmade rifle, should i mod both of it to powerful receiver instead of full automatic receiver?

Powerful receiver is good for two shot because you want the damage from the first hit to be as high as possible, but I would keep the automatic receiver on the problem solver because the higher your fire rate, the faster your damage increases

Also, currently i make the problemsolver into sniper automatic with supressor. For the two shot, i turn it into automatic with dot sight no supressor (for loud open fire mode). Should they be turn around instead?

Yeah, it makes sense to turn them around, with the two shot you want to stay hidden as long as possible so you can snipe them one by one

Hey, this might be the wrong channel (or maybe not), but, at least to me it seems that the fallout 4 cc content is "end". I mean, we recently get more things with the fallout 4 next gen update but at the same time it seems like that will be the last content. The "Bethesda Game Studios Creations" program seems to be focused only around Skyrim and Starfield, and it looks like even if someone want to, there can be no more content for fallout 4 creation club.

Sorry for the bed english, is not my first language and I'm honestly writing it down as I think, without thinking much about gramaticals errors (or syntax). I read a lot about in the past but without any official statement by Bethesda, maybe there is one but I didn't find it. I would say try FO3 on Steam but reading the problems people have in the Steam Discussion Forum for the game getting it to run would probably be enough. Some get lucky and the game works great, for others it just won't start up half the time and for a few not at all.

And yeah FO1, FO2 and Tactics don't seem to have a problem since they run off a Dosbox.

I dont know, i just make my custom automatron in robot workbench, modify it so it looks like mr gutsy, and then send it to graygarden. When i fast travel to graygarden, i found my gutsy returned to its factory form (protectron without anything)

Nope, i have checked at the settlement where i modify it, its no longer there. And the graygarden got its settler count increased, and yeah its the only robot that isnt mr handy (default settler in graygarden) or my custom gutsy

if enemies will attack your settlement, human npc will go to 0 health but survive until you give them a stimpack or after a while, but the robot will just die

I’ve had this happen before, unfortunately I haven’t found a solution. It has something to do with npc equipment. I’ve even had Preston and Deacon reset their inventory for no reason. Could be location or a certain interaction they did.
