But on PS5 you can't do Sim Settlements 2, or any of the other story-based mods, because they use external assets. I've played the base game a bunch of times. It's okay, but it's offering nothing new. I want new ways to play the game.

Do creation club additions break things in game or cause issues with anything/trivialize the game in anyway?

Some can but not too much and mostly only in yhe early game. I tend to stash or get rid of a few of the items straight off and go from there

I was doing a meme melee build, used the You're SPECIAL duping glitch to get insane strength, and from a Feral Ghoul I got a WOUNDING MINIGUN

Yeah. I knowingly push it to the point where its going to have problems. If I just ran SS and turned off the beacon when I got around 25 settlers per settlement Id probably be fine. But I expand the borders and lift the build limit, and keep letting people join lol

Yeah I get that. I did a lot of play throughs with other setlement mods where I hand crafted every single room of every building. The quests for this are really fun though, worth exploring. Plus you can still add your own flair as you wish around the plot types.

Yes, it means the distance you can shoot and still deal max damage, anything past the range of your weapon will have increasingly larger damage drop-offs

hello, im new here. ive got a crash issue with Fo4. In my playthrough im currently completing the mission where im flying to the Prydwen for the first time in the vertibird. My game crashes when i enter a load screen or try to autosave when i make it to the Prydwen. i can interact with npcs and have no performance issues. Ive disabled mods, verified game files multiple times, restarted my pc and game 4-5 times, reloaded mod order and a couple other things and nothings worked so far. do i need to reinstall the game?

Hello, guys finally I finish cleaning sanctuary and RR, I have a questing what are the best perk, if I wan a character, I wan to be able to take outside enemies from distance using a sniper riffle.

On the quest "Fire support" you're supposed to help Danse with killing ghouls and I think there was another wave and they didn't show up and danse will keep saying "check your fire we got hostiles" I've tried resetting the game, my console, and killing my character to fix but nothing's working. i read a little about such bug, there are places in the mechanist dungeon where there are lines of shut off robots in a mechanical belt, first time i went through i destroyed a few of them, this might have caused the issue

hahah, i had the bug early one where i could only modify Ada's legs, so i had to dismiss dogmeat, get her to follow me, drop like a hundred bullets in her face to heal her, after a few healings i got her back onto the robot workshop and it was all good from there

You have to stand on the mechanist symbol in the middle of the room to trigger the dialogue

Not without a mod... It's a known game breaking bug if you want to side with the bos, have to start over with a new save, any saves on that character will have this bug, no matter how far back you reload.

Remember you can build upwards, most settlements have a decent height build ceiling... And if you mean the build limit is running out, you can do the drop store weapons trick.

I'm on Far Harbor mission "Cleansing the Land" and I am currently on the objective "Locate the Nuclear Launch Key". When I go to the saferoom in the hotel, and try to interact with the keypad, nothing happens, and It seems my quest marker is inside the locked room behind the bookcase. have you compared ur computer's hardware to the requirements for the game. either via can you run it or via dxdiag? you can also check the windows event viewer (eventvwr) for any diagnostic information on what caused the game to crash in the first place

i'd say there's two main routes, power armor or stealth vats

i think no-vats power armor is one of the best for survival, intelligence gets you a lot that makes surviving a little bit easier

Something like this is what im using now, lemme see if i can find my explanations

Perception: 4 This allows us Rifleman, lockpicking, and Demo Expert with Bobble. Could easily drop to 3 and put elsewhere, we won't be investing in Demo until later, and it's not necessary for the build. I like having explosives and lockingpicking = xp+loot. Could dump completely and depend on Bobble to get Rifleman.

Endurance: 5 I actually don't get a single Endurance perk. 1 pnt in Aquaboy can be good if you want to do some swimming for certain items early. Lifegiver is okay, but I don't find I need the passive regen ever, there's plenty of food around. As the +HP, I prefer to just add points into Endurance. Endurance also has the bonus of reducing the AP cost of sprinting, which will help your PA cores last longer. Chem Resistant would be nice to have but I never had a problem using consumables to cure addition.

Charisma: 5 For Lone Wanderer, and eventually Local Leader. I often put my extra SPECIAL point here so I don't have to go rush the Charisma bobble. Charisma is the first stat I'll max after the build is complete, could also do STR or END.

Intelligence: 9 We want that sweet sweet XP, we want Nuclear Physicst so our PA cores last forever, Chemist for crafting drugs and staying on them, Science, Hacker, Scrapper(optional). Medic is nice but I don't find I need it.

Agility: 1 We don't use VATs, and sneak still works fine for our purposes (long range).

Luck: 1 No VATs, no need.```

you could also dorp endurance or perception. Pick up luck if you like for idiot savant. But it's only worth it XP wise for this build if you make it to like lvl70+

main thing is really just the 9 INT and low STR. Power armor builds give you a lot of points to play with

my other build is a no power armor, always using vats, sneak/gunslinger/crits

tesla armor mods are for melee users really. And energy weapon isn't a category in FO4. Probably should pick rifleman though for laser rifle / musket and plasma rifle. Weapon type is more about the style of grip / receiver you use. Like if you mod a laser rifle to be automatic, it uses Commando and not Rifleman anymore. If you mod it into a pistol grip, it will use Gunslinger

If you have Automatron, you can supe robot companions into death machines. I have a codsworth somewhere that shoots mininukes

plus they have like 500 carry weight. Lone Wanderer is real good tho.

There's Rifleman, Commando, Gunslinger, and also Heavy Gunner. Those are the main dmg perks. The choices I talked about before are what determine which perk gets used

So, I am doing the All Hallows' Eve quest. But when I listen to the mysterious station, there is nothing. I do know where to go to continue with the quest, but when i go into a room, it says that I failed that part of the quest. Is there a way to actually hear anything on that station? If not, do I miss out on anything by failing that particular part of the quest line? (like any items, gear, etc..)? And I am playing on Xbox series X. thank you in advance.

Yeah sadly its a known issue and as far as i know there is no other way around it then doing what you already know. Go to location and proceed from there. Oddly enough its seem to be an issue for most players but not all, some are lucky and are hearing the signal but most of us do not

Can't say, I never did it (I only know Preston doesn't like it when you set up a raider outpost). My guess is Preston will stop talking to you until you eliminate all raiders, but I don't think all settlements will turn hostile

The Minutemen will not become hostile, but you will permanently lose Preston as a companion (so make sure you get his perk first) and he will not talk to you until you turn against the raiders.

I read is not fix is a old bug, but someone post this on reddit " Known bug with an easy fix. The best way to fix it is wait for the Prydwen to show up and to have molecular level quest. Virgil will give you the option to go to the BOS. Go back to the police station and talk to Danse. When he asks you to join you will decline him. Then talk to Haylen and Rhys. Their loop will break and they’ll talk to you. Go back to Danse and agree to join BOS and Fire Support should complete. It gets a little weird after that with the ArcJet mission because after he walks into the building he’ll immediately turn back around and leave. This is fine. Just continue thru ArcJet like normal and he’ll pop up occasionally. Complete the ArcJet mission and Danse should be corrected."

Would someone please enlighten me on how to make the All Hallow's Eve projectors work? They appear to be powered because the lightning bolt is green, but nothing happens when I activate them. Facing Long startup load with f4se. Question about death and reloading your save: every time I've died to a mine or grenade trap or even a legendary enemy, when I reload the last save (auto or quick), the mines, traps are gone and the legendary enemy (assuming they had yet to spawn at the time of save) are no longer legendary.

Interestingly, as someone who's been playing Bethesda's games (unmodded) since "Morrowind," the only actual game breaking bug I ever recalled encountering was in "Skyrim," when you're in the past and watch Alduin being defeated, but he refuses to land.

Only happened to me once on PC - Steam and loading a previous safe resolved the issue.

Typically, through 18 years of playing Bethesda games, the majority of gamer breaking issues I see are actually caused by mods.

It seems this happens when a mod you had installed gets deleted. At least that’s what my Google searches revealed.
On my Xbox I deleted the reserved space (not the saved data or main game files), which will remove all mod and creation club files. You’ll be able to open the mod interface again. Then you can rebuild your load order.
It sucks. I hope they fix it.

Abernathy Farms has been attacked twice so far by Super Mutants, the last one by several of them. They were smashing on the farmers, got close enough to really hurt them, yet no one was killed.

Settlers are considered "Protected" which means they get downed (the staggered on the ground animation) but can only be killed by the player or - inconsistantly - explosives. I've seen rockets take out half my farm population and other times settlers just tank fat men shells.

Also at 95 happiness, it only increases 1 point per day, so if it moves up, sleep until 10 - 1 and wait 2-4 minutes for the happiness to go up

Guys I need help, I can’t find X6-88

So I’ve had this bug with other companions where you send them to a settlement but they just return to where they came from, this time, I can’t find X6-88

The internet told me to look around libertalia. So I did. I didn’t see him anywhere but when I enter power armor or hit some chems, X6’s affinity changes. So he is somewhere around the nahant wharf area.

Some told me to look at the beached boat north of nordhagen but I don’t see him anywhere.

Oh and I can’t use console commands because I am on PS4 and I cannot use vault tec computer because I am a cheapskate

I've usually found him at Nordhagen beach opposite Libertalia, sometimes he's in the Institute Synth Retention Bureau. Affinity triggering definitely means he's in the area. Vault Tec terminal companion tracker is definitely useful for these situations

To those playing Survival, how much time do you spend replaying content? I am afraid to play Survival because it's super annoying when my game crashes. It doesn't happen often, but it happens at leat once per week. I save as often as I possibly can, just to avoid repeating everything I just did. Obviously, you replay if you die, but how about them crashes??

I’ve only experienced 3 crashes since update and I have almost 200 hours in.

If you’re worried, save often and it won’t be as annoying when you lose progress. Survival is addictive and amazing, I recommend at least trying it.

There are beds,mattress, and sleeping bags everywhere, if you consciously remember to sleep before and after doing anything you don't want to do over, you won't have issues.

Early on you might lose 30 minutes at most if you locate most beds around the map due to a crash (On PS5 my game rarely crashes, around 3-4 times in +100 hours). Returning to you main settlement after clearing 2-3 areas is the best way to avoid losing progress (Crashes might be rare but early on a lot of enemies can kill you with 2-3 hits)

I tried to avoid using matresses to save because you can get sick more easily than when using a bed but in an emergency I would just to save (And matresses are everywhere).

Very few dungeons/locations don't have beds (Or only 1 at the end of it) and a lot have beds at the entrance or in the middle of them.

It's a good idea to locate beds/matresses around the open world so you can plan your route and save "just in case"

Makes sense, I guess. There's a lot of stuff that I don't pay attention to because it is unneccessary if you're not in Survival. Although, honestly, the hardest part may be encumbrance. Getting the armorer perk (STR 3 I think) is well worth it, you can reach 255 carry weight with deep pocketed mods on armor + pack mule. The downside is armor pieces weight quite a lot (A full set of light/medium combat armor, fully upgraded, and a weapon + 600-700 rounds can fill 100 carry weight slots)

I've always used a companion too, Codsworth helps a lot early on because he can carry like +100

Maybe, but both take place in alternate universes that are not compatible with one another. I don't know when Cyberpunk's history diverged from ours, but Fallout's diverged with the invention of the transistor in our universe (didn't happen in Fallout's).

I don't think the Fallout timeline/history cares much about Japan at all. The big focus is China. So Arasaka definitely does not exist in the Fallout universe. The Cyberpunk universe predates the Fallout universe by at least a decade, with characters and institutions like Johnny Silverhand (originally based on David Bowie) and Arasaka being part of it since 1989. Fallout 1 came out in what, the late 90s? 1997 I think? So Fallout could include references to Cyberpunk's world if Fallout's creators wanted them in the same universe, but they go in opposite directions. Cyberpunk is far future, and Fallout is retro future.

If you want to cross them over, I'd start with Cyberpunk's world, and apply Fallout's timeline change, not to our world. but to Cyberpunk's, and game out what becomes of that. Most of what Cyberpunk has wouldn't fit in Fallout because the technology doesn't exist. But, you could probably get Fallout stuff (like Vaults, Pip-boys, and the whole Fallout theme) into the Cyberpunk world a bit more easily.

they will take weapons from workbench storage during an attack. Make a storage box or use an existing container, settler’s can’t loot them. Any settler or attacker can claim a power armor with a fusion core in it too

I'm actually going to roll the dice on my next play and not do any of the modding skills. So far, I've done pretty well without Armorer. I've been able to scrounge most of the armour mods to be effective. Actually, same with Gun Nut. I only needed Gun Nut 4 because Silencers weren't plentiful. They are now, but I got mine about 20 levels earlier. I was also going to favour Dogmeat and get the Lone Wanderer perk. I was not aware Dogmeat didn't count as a companion for the perk.

What am I missing? I never use Power Armour. It's fun jumping in it, but that's about it. I thought it was like magic, but then the first Deathclaw in Concord smacked me up just as easily as if I was in normal armour, so I figured I was better off seeing the world in the Pipboy colour of my choosing.

Stealth works best. No power armor.
Semi auto rifle are powerful.
A long range sniper.
Pipe weapons are your best friend, ammo is common loot from enemies, and it's cheap.
With the right perks working together, they are deadly guns, even though they are ugly.

Power armor sucks in Fallout 4. Uses a rare and consumable item to power it, and you can get the benefits other ways. Also the power armor UI annoys me. The design appears to be intended to replicate a vehicle UI, but I don't dig it.

Anyway, best way to do Concord is to skip the power armor entirely (IMO). I fight the raiders from the rooftop using VATS, and when my AP is refilling, I step back and they can't get at me. When the Deathclaw comes out, just sneak attack it a couple times, it will run and hide (no joke).

The person who told you not to jump down doesn't seem to know about the hardware store exploit. If you want to deal with the deathclaw, jump down when it's at the end of the street, and shoot it once. Then duck into the hardware store directly across the street from, and to the left of the museum. Explore this space before going into the museum so you're familiar with it. All you have to do is get inside. The Deathclaw can't get in, and you can shoot it safely.

Game starts spitting out fusion cores as ammo later anyway, since they're used for the Gatling Laser. It's only limiting (and meant to be) early on. Eventually, you start selling spare cores for caps lol. Nuclear Physicist makes it even more ridiculous.

Well, that Power Armor is unleveled, half broken, and you're going against a Death Claw at like lvl5 lol

It's not an invincibility suit. You still have to be smart about taking damage and to not let a Deathclaw eat your face

but it means I can run through a Raider compound at full sprint, run and gunning and not worrying too much about the damage I take. High Int means you can make tons of drugs, and have them last a looong time. So you pop a bunch and get str/end/hp/+dmg/DR/per... it makes a huge difference

and then when things get bad, pop some Jet and have it last 45 seconds.... you'll melt that Deathclaw or anything else

I think the big thing for me is that it's real hard to get caught in a bad spot. With VATS/sneak builds, you can often wind up without AP and exposed, and you die quick. That just doesn't happen with a Power Armor build unless you really messed up

plus, I like FPS, so shooting things is fun. I like VATS, but it's kind of a drag after your 1000th slow mo shot.

Nothing will make you love power armor more than playing survival without it

the early game difficulty is like night and day. Without it - Once you get high enough, have ballistic weave and good armor though, you can survive okay. You can kind of outlevel the difficulty of this game

Yea, agreed. Which is part of the fun too though 😄 Like I have to actually plan my routes and not get noticed, make sure I dont aggro too many at once. Set up traps sometimes and always have an escape route.

Oh yeah. I forgot that they don't self heal after battle in Survival. They run home and self-heal.

Unpopular opinion, Strong is the best companion in my book. He carries way more than I can carry and he's pretty decent in a fight. And, I never shot him in the face once, which is what I typically do every time my companion gets in my way.

Other than that, I only use companions for pack mules. They always seem to be catching up when I get into a thick fight, or I already dispatched the enemies before they figured out what was going on. Unless it's Piper, Cait, or Curie. I strip them down and watch them walk. Sorry not sorry

LOL. No truer words. I'm so tired of the slomo shot. Fair point about sneak. When I get caught, I'm usually running backwards trying to avoid melee while hip firing. AP is totally gone even with Action Girl. Although that has a lot to do with me losing AP to overweight. Wish I didn't need that perk to get to Fast Travel. Of course, it's all moot when I finally do Survival
