I started a new game mid last week, with zero mods installed. After around ten hours in, my game would randomly and permanently freeze while saving/fast traveling after storing scrap. Now at around fifteen hours in my game permanently freezes everytime I fast travel or save, even without storing any scrap. Audio continues as normal, but my screen is completely frozen. The only way for me to even leave the app is to shut it down with task manager. Can anyone please help me?

That’s fair, only annoying issue is how quickly power armor breaks. Ballistic weave is such an amazing boost but the materials needed are often hard to come by or is expensive.

i havent had too much problem with it breaking (survival), but even if a piece does break, it still offers so much DR. It's like the difference between a dog chunking half your health and it being a slight tickle

Fallout loot system is funny, wen I was running from the yao guai, I was attack by a molrat , I killed, and drop a legendary laser musket, with assassin 50% more damage to humans. I tested, 89 to the torso, 179 if I shoot to the head, is way better that any of the weapons I have so far.

I’m playing Fallout 4 currently, and have been having lots of issues with the main story line of the BoS quest lines. I’m currently on the “Call to Arms” Mission, and Paladin Danse is stuck in an infinite loop of walking away from the destination. He is walking in random directions and whenever he runs into an object, he stops and turns to walk another way. The current objective says to follow him, and I can’t traverse any farther into the quest without completing this objective. I went inside the building you are supposed to go in to, and he teleported, but he said “We’ll talk later” and walked out. I was having lots of problems with the quest line as a whole, like when I did “Fire Support”, and Paladin Danse got stuck in a loop of saying the same dialogue of “Check your fire, we got hostiles”. I luckily found a way around it, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to do the BoS ending/Storyline. I’m not the only one with this problem, because I’ve seen many videos on these same matters. I’d really like a fix to this, and thank you very much. A reminder is that I play on Xbox Series X and I’m playing Fallout 4.

Anyone else unable to set brightness? Bethesda games tend to run dark, but usually you can turn up the brightness or gamma. Not seeing that since the next-gen patch. Could be because the game/Xbox is detecting I'm using 4K HDR, I think HDR manages its own brightness or some such...?

I had that happen once. They're greyed out, which means they're unavailable. My best guess is that the game tried and failed to communicate with the Bethesda servers, and just gave up.

I solved it, also on Xbox but on Series X (but you can try this as well), by pressing Guide (Xbox logo button in the middle), then going down to Fallout, pressing Menu (three horizontal lines, also called "hamburger" by some), then going down to Quit (or Exit). This force quits the game. Then you just start it up. Otherwise, if you just go out to the Guide/Home Screen, and go back in, you're just suspending/resuming the game. You want to start it over entirely, make it re-check that connection.

This could be caused by starting the game right when the console starts. Since I'm a GamePass user, I have the GamePass widget/thing added to my Home Screen. I noticed that the Xbox Series X does not immediately connect to the Xbox network when it boots up. So I boot it up, sign in, and then wait for the GamePass stuff to load. This way, I know it's connected. If you started the game (maybe you own it, playing from disc or you bought it digital) before it had that connection, maybe that's why it couldn't connect to Bethesda.net. I would not speculate that Bethesda.net was down, though that is a possibility as well. (If the issue persists and I know the Xbox is connected, that would be my next suggestion. Try accessing Bethesda.net from another device, like your phone or a computer.)

Mole rats in the wild can randomly have mines as well. Best to take the Armorer perk early and add the effect (I forget the name) to your chest piece that gives you explosion protection (and makes you immune to being set on fire). Even at higher levels, and even on lower difficulty levels, a mine can one-shot you, because of the way explosive damage works in this game: the same damage is applied to each body part caught in the AoE (area of effect). In Starfield, the grenade indicator goes from red to white when you're outside of it. I don't think Fallout 4 did this, however. So if you see it... move! A good strategy is to move upward if possible, so it only hits your legs. Using explosives, the strategy is generally to aim down, so as to hit the legs and torso, but if your target is against a wall, targeting the wall next to them can potentially hit the torso, head, and all four limbs, giving you 6x damage. So yes, while jumping and hitting "both" limbs (2x damage) sounds bad, it's better than it also catching your torso and arms (5x damage). Since the mole rats jump, they're targeting all six zones.

Dropping mines of your own could be a good strategy, but I only collect mines to sell them. I've almost never used them in combat. They are great if you're running away from something. I've heard they're also effective in ||the secret part of|| Vault 81 (spoilers for quest Hole in the Wall).

I don't like Marcy Long, either, but I can understand where she's coming from. I moved her and Jun to Red Rocket, then put them both on supply line detail. Her to Abernathy Farm, him to Sanctuary. I really only ever see them in passing and never hear them. In fact, I'm pretty sure if I get close enough to Marcy to engage her idle bark, she uses the provisioner one rather than her character's, so she's almost officially neutralized. I think I spoke with her to give her a better weapon to defend herself. (I care about the supply line, not her. I could replace her but that's more work than she's worth.)

Since you got the check your fire bug, most likely everything involving danse will be bugged, happened to me multiple times.
You either have to start a new game, or use mods to fix.

Some frames you come across won't have a complete set. Don't worry though, there are a lot of frames everywhere in the world, you can easily piece together full sets...
Imo there are way too many in the game, it should be a special rare thing you find/earn.
Why I use a mod that removes almost every set of power armor from the game, one you can only get from a faction, the others only have one instance in the world. And you can buy pieces from specific vendors.

If you keep with the minute men, then you won't have to fight the BoS (unless you want to) or Rail road. BoS give PA but RR have the ballistic weave

Yup. Textures are goofy at times. Some objects change color depending on how close you are to them, meat bags are staticky and purple, some characters turn black and some people have rainbow skin. Only happens every now and then, though. Never forever

Also something happened when making my character at the start and he lost all of the skin off of his face. Once I left the vault he went back to normal, though, he’s missing a forehead now. I can see through to his hair

skyrim has that issue on loading screens its eather half the 3d model with shadows covering part of it or they get duplicated and overlap like seeing a copy of the same sword behind the other but darker shade...just load screen though other then that its ok
