normally with any game i've played over like 300 hours (there's a few of them), I normally tend to cut off the music and just play music from youtube or whatnot, but something with FO4 being all atmospheric and calm and... let's be real, sometimes creepy ambient effects, I just love not having music on when I play it, I find it that much more immersive, while with 3 and NV i always had the radio on (for 3 it was the robot radio mod, creepy as it comes)

Fallout 4 has almost no roleplay freedom because of limited dialogue choices, but has better gameplay than previous games.
But it's all subjective.

the most important thing i learned though, i got the ad victoriam quest for the brotherhood, then i was called to defend the castle, so i succeeded at the defend the castle quest, but it immediately failed ad victoriam, and then i went back into the ship to talk to the proctors and no one would answer to me, even though they recognised me as still one of theirs, so weird lol

I feel like you're trolling us, because the mods don't allow criticism of Bethesda or their games.

That said, Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game and it will always hold a special place in my heart, though I love Fallout 4, because I was always saying they should let us build up the settlements in 3 and add more defenses... and now that's a major part of 4.

Fallout 3 has no settlements you can build/customize. Though I do think there were mods to that effect. You get 1 player home right away if you make a good choice. If you make an evil one, you can't get that player home, but there is another one you can get (only if you made a certain evil choice). So that is your base of operations.

Still, Fallout 3's main quest made a little more sense, and while it didn't have factions you could work for (like Oblivion did 2 years prior), all of the side quests were pretty good, and missable, so if you didn't explore much, you wouldn't find a lot of it. You got out of the game what you put in. Stray from the beaten path, you'll find stories.

New Vegas wasn't made by Bethesda, so we can't really talk about it. I preferred 3 to NV, but NV had some solid parts to it.

I don't think the graphics are that bad, but I grew up with Atari and NES. I think of Fallout 3/NV as having good graphics, and newer games (e.g. Fallout 4) as having great graphics. Graphics have gotten better, but I still like 2000s games.

I'm just playing NV for the first time. Sure it feels like the writing is better, and I like the Karma System and how I can kill everyone I want so far, but gameplay wise it's not as fun to me as F4. F4 is also a lot more detailed and diverse, the locations in F4 just look a lot more interesting than in NV. I guess if I hadn't played F4 first, I would have loved NV more and appreciate what it did so many years ago.

The problem I'm having is that the dlc's are not working, I passed a screenshot of that to support and they told me "This message indicates that a mod that was enabled when the game was saved is no longer enabled. No it's known issue from the update for pc users. Tons of people have reported that the pc and Xbox client have some issues - long load times is one of them. Has nothing to do with the computer, the best computers are still having long load issues, def a client issue.

After reading everything. Sounds like a corrupted save, mods were definitely used at one point. I'd suggest trying to load a previous save from before you had any mods at all. But, most likely its gone. It is a very bad idea to install mods and then remove them without reading the mod descriptions. A lot of them have very specific uninstall directions and not following them will mess up your save for sure.

90%+ of the mods I use work just fine already. Basically if a mod relies on F4SE (which has been updated and working fine here) then that mod also needs to be updated (for me, importantly, the High FPS Physics Fix mod has also been updated now). Otherwise everything is working fine here. Main one I'm still waiting on is MCM (mod configuration manager) - if a mod needs that to be configured then might also be best to wait unless you are Ok with manually editing config files in the meantime.

Yeah, the Brotherhood of Steel wants to save humanity, but the Brotherhood under Maxson is quite evil (compared with Lyons' Brotherhood in Fallout 3). The Institute has better ideas for saving humanity... and they're way more evil.

It's kind of amazing, how the good guys just have the worst or the most flawed methods to save humanity. Or they don't want to be saviors of humanity, they just wanna scrape by.

Nah you can do Institute quests as well as quests for others. The point of no return is not the teleporter, it's going to Mass Fusion for one side or the other.

No faction will shun you for building the teleporter with another faction. They're fine with it, they'll just say they wish you'd worked with them and that's that.

The only missable achievements on a single playthrough have to do with the endings. So make a hard save before you start the Mass Fusion quest as that will determine who you're working for.

Best way to do it, if you want all the achievements, is to first decide who you ultimately want to end up with. The Brotherhood, not the Institute, is the exclusive one. Railroad wants you to go to Mass Fusion for the Institute. They will split later. So if you want Brotherhood in the end, do Institute first, and also make a hard save before the Railroad point of no return (it'll be obvious, and I forget exactly where it is), then do those. Brotherhood shuts you out of the other two factions since Brotherhood and Railroad want nothing to do with one another.

I've actually never done the Minutemen ending, where you use the sewer pipe. I know where it is, I've watched speed runs, but I have never actually, myself, taken that route. Honestly I don't really know how, for all I do know about this game. But this time, I'm waiting to see if there's a new ending with Sim Settlements 2. I kinda doubt it, but some mods do add endings, and I have all the achievements I want anyway. In any case, the SS2 plot runs parallel to the Minutemen one, they both go after the same goals. Rebuild the Commonwealth. So I'm not really looking at the main quest, I'm kind of empire building, getting my settlements built up, fortified, and linked.

Well hopefully this update will fix the settlers and the power armor. Settlers have to steal the power armor to put it on. Would be great if this update lets you out your settlers in and out of the power armor. Telling them when to get in and out of power armor would be a great update. Would be nice if they included the followers as well to use it.

Anyone know how to get rid of the “Far Harbor BUG” that crashes the game when trying to “Travel to Far Harbor” during the load screen.
I just started the “Far From Home” Questline, finished talking to the family, but when I get on the boat to “Travel to Far Harbor” the boat moves, fades to black, the Loading Screen appears for a few seconds and the game crashes.
I know there were several tricks to “fix” this, I tried a few but none of them worked. Anyone have any ideas?

Ah, I see. It's recommended to for a new start... Or load up a save before you discovered Concord. But new start is best.
If possible, load a prior save before Concord with mod disabled... Then go into an interior. Save. Enable mod. Reload save from interior... Wait/ about a week or two in game if it's still doesn't show up.

Which one are you using?
Are you using the level list versions or the standalone?
Level list will show up on minutemen, standalone is craft only.

I've used the mod several times and worked fined all those times. I used the older ones though because the newer ones had texture issues.

Anyway, if you go to Mass Fusion for the Institute, you'll make yourself an enemy of the Brotherhood, and the game will tell you this. If you mean the teleporter to get to the Institute, then no, all Maxson will say is that he wished you worked with the Brotherhood, but he'll direct you to Proctor Teagan (IIRC) who will want a copy of the data that Tinker Tom has you download, and from there, you're good to keep doing Brotherhood quests, including Blind Betrayal.

I always do Blind Betrayal even if I'm gonna work against the Brotherhood. I do it to get Danse's perk. Of course if you do work against the Brotherhood, he will be your enemy, but you still get to keep his perk.

Normally when you uninstall a mod or creationclub, it reloads the save, however if its a playthrough you have currently got, achievements will still be lovked as they already had mods, to unlock achievements again, you need to start a unmodded playthrough

There's no conflict if the player doesn't choose to make one, but after you do you get a new quest chain to set up artillery at I think six settlements and then blow it out of the sky.

yep, diamond city for you, on the bright side, once your on the quest you have to follow dogmeat except you dont, you can just walk him outside and fast travel to fort strong and wait

yes, because you cant clear the entire facility, due to the lower levels being blocked off

I'm just being real... I don't think we've ever had a Bethesda drop that wasn't riddled with bugs, whether it be a new game or update/upgrade, nor have we ever had patches/fixes drop right away if said drops were buggy. So to expect a fix right away from Bethesda is naive. I love Bethesda games and have played them for years, but I never expect for Bethesda games to "Just Work" out of box.

its more than likely taxing your system due to the explosion, lower your graphics to minimum, and turn on performance mode

Raider settlements the flags serve a purpose, sort of. They are required to advance the quest.
Other than that they are just decorations.

Scribe Haylen, while being very kind, would probably want to be an ambassador. But the Brotherhood would probably deny her in favor of Teagan, since Haylen's duty as a scribe comes first while Teagan can more fluently work with Settlements alongside his regular job.

Also after Scribe Haylen's somewhat unprofessional outbursts during the Blind Betrayal quest, she would probably have a bit less credit in the eyes of the Brotherhood.

They'd want as little personal emotions getting in the way as possible I'd imagine.

Depending on how strong the Minutemen are at that point, I'd also think they would dial back the aggression a bit when it comes to negotiating for supplies from settlements.

They wouldn't risk getting bombarded by artillery from multiple angles.

To my memory only 1/3rd of the dialogue options are using threats, so while strong arming is allowed, it is not necessarily canon

The minutemen and BoS work together to destroy the Institute, with the higher ups of the Minutemen helping the Railroad avoid the BoS in return for them not striking back in order to avoid a war in the commonwealth

Well with the minutemen ending being canon I can see this wanting to happen

The Railroad would eventually fizzle out after the destruction of the insitute, due to there being no more new synths to protect.
