Fallout 4 very suddenly got extremely buggy today.

• doors not being openable and using a different door texture to what they normally do(?)
• stunning enemies makes them stand with their default animation for a few seconds
• random gravity bugs
  This all happened when I deleted old saves on the same playthrough to free up save space. Any ideas?

IDK. Your guess is as good as mine. Only times they give away single colors is for holiday themes or events. I think they're giving away Vault-Tec and BOS skins this time because of the TV show. The Rainbow packs include Onyx and Chrome. In the past, those packs go on sale in June for LGBTQ month, usually for 50% off.

CC is selling the Dog Kennel Bundle, again, which is a great way to get the dog breeds. That's how I got them. I'd be more interested in Settlement Ambush Kit by itself, instead of in the Total Defense Bundle. They like to push that bundle too. But, I already have the Sentinel Control System.

Yeah, but the F4SE dev also says the next gen update is very buggy. It's hard for them to pick out bugs in F4SE code from bugs in the FO4 code. iPresentInterval & Windowed-Mode are broken since the Update patch next gen 2024 fallout 4.

The .ini setting iPresentInterval has lost its function with the update. It no longer sets the game's vsync mode. The game sets its vsync mode automatically. If required should one force vsync in the driver settings to "fast" and limit the frame rate to 60fps. This only works for fullscreen-mode.
The behaviour of windowed-mode seems uncontrollable and can result in less than optimal framerates. If necessary switch to fullscreen-mode and force vsync.

as I mentioned, current version of the game is very unstable, there are a lot of problems with this version and "iPresentInterval" is just one of them. You need to wait for modding community and Bethesda themselves to fix it. Sorry but in this moment, there's nothing we can do.

Sometimes after downloading mods or cc it will say you don't have wasteland workshop. But just restart the game and it fixes it. Other than that, all works good on ps5 for the most part. Also any mod that requires the wasteland workshop will crash your game when returning to the main menu from the mod menu. But the mod isn't broken, when you start the game back up it will still work - just a problem with that dlc atm.

I know! Feels good, and the ps5 legit runs the game great. I played it on pc back when it first came out and this doesn't even compare. The ps5 is a smooth experience, where you don't really need mods to enjoy it. I still have a few for small annoyances, but that's pretty much it.

Just a massive bummer if they don't add some of the old stuff soon. For the ps5 it's the only way for us to get semi quality mods that add new stuff. Super lame to not just have it all up.

Isn't it weird that the Manwell rifles basically break the game due to how high their damage stat is and how easy it is to get at the start of the game? But the anti materiel rifle is way harder to get and also has alot less damage (like 30%-50% less than the manwell christ)

The only thing I used it for was to spawn enemies to attack my settlements, but the settlement defense kit creation club thing already has a way cooler settlement attack system so I just use that instead.

Speaking of, that creation is also kinda broken because you can just go to an empty settlement, start gunner waves, and then have infinite gunner loot which you can either sell or scrap (with the scrapper perk). And it's a pretty large amount of gunners per wave, all you'd need is like a good explosive weapon and you're set.

Hey all. I'm a new player (though no stranger to Bethesda's games), and I have some newbie questions. Note I'm playing on Xbox Series X/Xbox One X in case that matters, and I am not using mods.

I'm also taking my time exploring the world. I'm about 6H in and just saved the people in Concord, though I did not follow them back to Santcuary as I don't want to start the community building stuff right now.

1. Is there a way to tell the difference between your autosaves and manual saves from the save/load menu? There doesn't seem to be any kind of descriptive text indicating which is which.

2. For your Quest log, the main Quest path has had custom art for each Quest, but all the other Quests in my Journal simply have Vault-Tec Boy giving a thumbs up. Would all of those be DLC/Creations? Basically I'm looking to avoid post-launch Quests until after I complete the core game.

3. For Power Armour, if I run out of juice in my Fusion Cores and simply need to leave the Armour, will it remain there indefinitely or does it disappear after a time? I noted there is an icon for it on my Map now.

4. I was hoping to find a merchant in Concord that I could use to sell items too, as my Inventory is getting full. I found a farmer near by but she needs time to restock. Between Concord and Diamond City, can I expect to find other vendors proper? The world has seemed pretty dang empty so far.

1. I am pretty sure there are dates and your total hours underneath the specific save file on the load menu. If you don’t see any, may your game be bugged?

2. Not all quests with Vault Boy thumbs up as a thumbnail is a DLC/Creations quest, the DLC quests only pop up after you reach a specific level. Meanwhile the Enclave and other Creations quests pop up as you get out the Vault, they should be titled as such; Best of Three, All Hallows Eve, Pyromaniac, Echoes of the Past, When Pigs Fly, Speak of the Devil

3. Your PA stays where you left it

4. There are chances to find more wandering traders but your best luck are the merchants in Diamond City but keep an eye out for Brahmin with bags and humans near them while on the way, they should be traders!

Yeah the game is purposely kinda empty at the start so you don’t get too overwhelmed and also get curious ab what else could be out there, like little sprinkles of mole rats and raiders until a certain point

Unfortunately I cannot check on my PC right now to see if I have the same issue as I never noticed but now that I think about it the last time I’m sure I saw a quotation differentiating auto-save and quick save and manual save was New Vegas but then again I’ve been replaying that recently so it’s fresher in my brain

2. There are more places to go to, but unfortunately not as much as you’d think due to the Settlement system being in place, you making your own settlements. The only reason I recommended Diamond City was cause it was closest to where you were and you eventually have to go there anyways, but you could keep exploring and try to find something else!

there's a number of settlments jsut not large ones. It's also on you to build them. The major settlments that are already built are: Diamond city,Goodneighbor and Bunkerhill and Vault 89. Beyond the caravans which show up on their own and move aorund, you can build your own shops

Once at sanctuary you will be asked to "build" the sanctuary.. but you can do that at your own pace.. in the mean time you can have all the benefits of the sancturay... just hold off from bulding the defences.. because only after defences are built will attacks be triggered etc (all my knowledge so far as a newbie, anyone else be free to correct me )

So if you quicksave, there will only be 3 quick saves. If you quick save one more time, the oldest quick save will be erased and create a new one. If you see a save thats really old, (like coming out of the vault, those are manual saves.

Depends on if you “own it” and what your home xbox is. Lets say the game costs $20 dollars and you buy it. If you have your xbox as the home xbox, you can play it offline. Well if your going to pass on Spectacle any other large settlement like Sanctuary, Abernathy and Starlight will do. I think there's couple of large ones I'm forgetting. But virtually any settlement can have 21 settlers even Red Rocket if you build right and a healthy bit of creativity. Also the max amount of settlers is 21 per settlement unless you use mods to remove that limit but that really isn't recommended.

I've had success with power armor on Survival. Just gotta upgrade it as far as you can for improved durability. In more challenging areas, I used to come out with a bunch of red or broken parts, but alive.

Power armor station, it's like a yellow frame thing. They are in a ton of places, usually towns or settlements. Sanctuary, the bos ship, and red rocket are good places.

I've found is quite cheap to repair if you fight enemies with upgraded weapons and have scrapper perks. Currently im lvl 34 and even with a fully upgraded combat armor set (The first tier, plus helmet) some enemies instakill me.

Once i had to fight a gunner commander with power armor and he was bulky as hell (I think i spent +100 fusion cells on him, and he was only wearing a t-45 without helmet)

Vanilla game despawns bodies after about the 15 body lies dead. This was frustrating for me when try to kill and loot raiders in a big location. There are mods on PC that will keep them from despawning for a couple of days.

For those interested, Digital Foundry just released their review of the Next-Gen update. On console, the key points are:

• On Xbox Series X|S, there is indeed only one graphics mode working: Perfromance Mode. The game is a dynamic 2160p targeting 60 FPS with "standard settings" (to me, it appears to be base Xbox One graphic settings with improved light shafts due to the resolution increase) regardless of any in-game or console-level setting changed. Note on Xbox Series S the resolution is a dynamic 1440p. Visuals overall tend to be better on the Xbox One X.

• On PlayStation 5, while all four graphic modes work, Quality Mode (including at 1440p output and if connect to a 120hz display) is not Ultra Settings. It overall appears to be the PlayStation 4 Pro settings, complete with lack of middle draw distance all PlayStation versions have always lacked. Shadow quality and draw distance has not been changed at all.

Not for me, the ps5 version is alot better.
I've had one crash in 60 hours, the ps4 version would have crashed 60 times by now. No fps issues.
Only thing is the same bugs from ps4 version still there, they didn't update anything.
Like caravan guards not wearing under armor, same quest bugs, etc... It's all still there.
But in performance mode, it runs great.

Not really. Once you get to Mass fusion, that becomes a point of no return.

if you get the berilliyum agitator for liberty prime you cant side with the institute, but if you get prime almost done and then side with the institute he will survive the prydwen being shot down and then you can see him walking about the airport

Almost all weapons in Fallout 4 could be modded, so most are viable. CR-74L if you have that Creation Club's DLC is must-have for .45 caliber

Overseers Guardian (Bought from vault 81) Is also a good early weapon. Might have to sell all your ammo to get enough caps.

And if you lack .45 ammo it can be farmed from the triggermen in the 3 goodneighbour warehouses.

Ah yes. Was not that correct. SMG (the Tommy gun) is utter crap unfortunately in Fallout 4. Outclassed by Combat rifle (and CR-74L) entirely while using the same .45 caliber.

The .45 is best saved for the Radium Rifle.

And not only early game. Also, there is ||BoS garrison|| in Cambridge police station, where laser rifle could be taken from a corpse. Also you could do ||paladin Danse's quest in ArcJet systems|| to receive ||laser rifle legendary version|| and decent supply of micro-fusion cells.

Funny enough, i think the bug description on the wiki is wrong. Says it crashes if you have full AP. But i'm fairly certain it's triggered by stealing since the owner by default is a hostile so it fails to make it "take back" their stuff when you face them.

And the crashes have so far only happened when i steal before killing them.

The random crashes are a pain right now, during the first 25 hours i didnt have any but now with around 60 i get a crash every 3/4 hours, randomly. Im on PS5.

Limiting saves so much wasnt the wishest decision on survival, specially with full really hard missions without a single save point/bed (Trinity tower is basically unplayable for me)

I've been using a laser rifle Danse gave me, quite powerful for VATS. I really enjoy semi-automatic weapons. The downside is that i have "less" firepower if enemies have automatic weapons.

Soooo finally figured out a way to get my favourite faction into fallout 4 in a semi lore friendly way

So the NCR are my favourite fallout faction but not so much because of the faction it's self but more because of their style

The armor is cool, weapons are cool, flag is awesome and the rangers are cool and the NCR does represent the best chance for a civilised society

But lore wise they don't work in fallout 4 like why would the New "California" Republic be on the east coast just logistically not possible based on how fallout NV ended the NCR could not spread so far so quick..

But then I realised that nearly all the mods adding in everything NCR, so armor, flags and the faction changes all use just the NCR part of the name like not many posters have the full "New California Republic" it's normally just NCR

And well NCR could just as easily stand for New Commonwealth Republic sooooo yay using the right mods I can get the NCR in fallout 4 and have it make some sense

SOLUTION! you can "Craft" on those stations and simply unequip everything, and its NOT counted as stealing, you just need to supply a new frame.
Source, i "Craft" on both those stations, unequip the parts, and sell them to Teagan every game.

I like the X-01 suits, Makes the Power Armor LOOK like its a walking tank. and the helmet for that suit looks intimidating too, i think, so its by far my favourite. I dislike how most of the customisations for the armour is locked to like, T-51, or X-02 tho, because who DOESNT want a Sugar Bombs branded X-01 suit while you lay waste?

Btw I tested the dogmeat cryolator glitch both with and without UFO4P, glitch works for both, so I guess that's a message to the mod author of UFO4P to find a way to fix it, or to bethesda...

Hey, the warehouses actually lets you build okish buildings! And trying to make it cover most of the murwater base (minus the floor gotta let that beaty keep spawning).

Though might want to pick up the scrap everything mod... Those random buildings are a chore .-. (Though some say don't due to causing crashes)

Also, another issue i have with Fo4 is that, well, a LOT of stuff doesnt make sense.
I get that Nuka World had these huge defense contracts and all, but to the point of having MULTIPLE sets of Experimental Power armour suits? all of rather high technological standard? Theyre all X-01 Mk3 at the minimum. And supposedly, Nuka Cola Quantum never hit shelves, but you can find it in so many places where it COULDNT be unless it had hit shelves, and not only that, but the fusion cores of many places remain unlooted despite them being super valuable objects, etc. theres a lot wrong with it tbh

Least with the fushion cores some might be the raiders own which they well... use to power the locale. Though that would make more sense if this was closer to the time the bombs fell, unless new cores are being produced.

Well, yeah, if you pay attention in the NW DLC you take the fusion core from the arena you get a unique dialogue where "power to the arena is down to 30%" or whatever

I feel like, if ANYBODY is producing new FCs though, it would be the Brotherhood or the Enclave Remnants, or even the Institute

It's functionality. A mod that just changes a few values here and there like enabling ballistic weave on most stuff should have negible effect.

Mods chaning AI behaviour, increasing population counts and whatnot will have more noticable effects. Or graphic mods that does gods knows what.
