you have to remember that pior to the great war the US was divided up into various commonwealths so, the comment may not apply to fallout 4's commonwealth. The comment was that they received word from the commonwealth about the enclave.

I think for survival you should leave a character open ended on how you want to develop them. Worst thing you can do is pick someone else's build and it sucks for you.

I heard in a video it’s because certain DLCs are causing it to crash, the video said it was the “Wastland Workshop” and the “Automatron” DLCs.
according to the video, I had to delete the game from my console and REINSTALL it WITHOUT those DLCs. I did and it’s been working fine.
Hopefully the new update fixes the problem altogether, but until then I’ll just have to play the game with the other DLCs.

This mod is among the two dozen I applied straight away having just returned to the game, I'm experiencing occasional crashes but nothing terribly game breaking, I honestly doubt that it's the source of my crashes because I've hardly built anything. I'm on XB1 tho so your mileage may vary.

In other news, I'm looking for suggestions for dope ass places to plant a large settlement using the Conquest mod, Id love input from anyone. I'm an absolute tool because I returned to the game after watching the new show, when I played years ago settlement building was my favorite aspect of the game, I've played all of the fallouts but I fell in love with building settlements and there are so many new and awesome mods to toy with. I wish I was on PC, but atm I'm on Xbox1, I used Live Another Life to make a city slicker named Mister Mayor with the intent of building a massive settlement. Please give me ideas as to where the best places are for such an endeavor, I'm already back at Hangman's Alley just to scrap material, I built a cool base here once before but I want a change of space

I've never really done a lot with the workshop packs, but you can craft ammo with them so that's pretty cool. You can set up an automated ammo crafting system, you just have to supply materials and that can be worth doing.

Automatron is actually really cool and I like it a lot. Building your own robot followers is going to always be cool. The vault one lets you build your own vault which is cool too.

All the dlc's are good in their own way, and Nuka world feeds into some of the automatron stuff. You get some build parts for robots from it.

Thats the "last" main quest before faction quests start

Completing mass fusion quest for the institute or the Brotherhood Will make one hostile, dont complete it

Also, if you want to keep the railroad neutral dont complete blind betrayal (Mission from the Brotherhood)

To keep everyone in "good terms" except for the institute you have to go with the minutemen but you can complete a certain amount of quests for each faction (Generally until they ask you to wipe another faction in the case of the institute, with the Brotherhood its best to just dont complete blind betrayal since having the Next quest active will cause problems with the railroad)

The railroad will expect you to follow the institute questline to a certain degree (Mass fusion quest), which Will make the Brotherhood hostile

What I don't like about Fallout 76 is the survival aspect. IMO Bethesda never got that right. New Vegas is the only Bethesda (-like) game with a survival mode (Hardcore mode) I enjoyed, but... that was New Vegas. It had so much else going for it. (Also, I was doing it for an achievement.) After Fallout 4, having weapons and armor break after a few uses just felt like a huge step backward, not to mention the hunger/thirst stuff. Would have been better if we could turn that off, play it more like Fallout 4. But then they sell weapon repair kits for real money, and therein lies the problem.

the only thing the repair kits do (which you can ear without spending money) is jsut make it so you don't need to find a bench and by mid game you're already swiming in mats to fix your weapons and armor

The story part of Fallout 76 is not bad. I enjoyed trying to figure out what happened to the Responders. I enjoyed a couple other quests. But they all seemed as shallow as Creation Club content. Nothing really seemed to matter to anything else or to the world as a whole, it was like they were their own little bespoke experiences you did just to say you did something. The first 5 minutes or so of the game felt strong, but after that, I felt like I was in a theme park, being shuffled from ride to ride.

I have played it recently (last year) and I do appreciate that they added NPCs in. Early on, that was a dumb hill for them to be willing to die on. "There's no NPCs, but just robots and recordings." No one bought that line. It was a bad idea, they should have felt bad, I think they did, and they changed it. So, I can't say the game hasn't improved.

I would love to see Bethesda overhaul Fallout 76 into something more like Borderlands. Something that works as a single player experience but is better with friends. Borderlands wasn't perfect, but the first one was a classic and it nailed the single player/co-op divide, even having PvP areas. They need to make it so the quests feel like they matter.

And robot NPCs were fine, it was just a different vibe. People (gamers) wanted to feel like what they did mattered, and you can't really impress upon a robot with your good deeds and favors. You're not making the robot's life better. Seeing people, and being able to make their lives better is a reward we strive for in the other Fallout games. Or the reverse if you're playing evil, in 3/NV mostly (but also in Nuka-World for 4).

There's also the issue that the mods will censor criticism of the game rather than actually fixing the game (because the mods aren't part of or involved with the people who work on the game). Like they know it's bad, but with the Fallout TV show bringing new players and thus new revenue to the studio, they don't want people seeing the bad parts before they have their chance to make a good first impression.

Same. I mean, if the achievements are new, for it being a Series X|S title, then I'll go and knock out Nuka-World before ever meeting Preston. Too easy. Except there was a bug (not sure if it's fixed) where turning in certain quests (the water quest at the robot farm was good for it) would cause Preston to spawn in and force the meet and greet.

I don't think achievements will be new for the next-gen update, so I'll already have all the achievements I want. They can keep the other two. I won't put in the effort. (100,000 Nuka-Cade Tickets, and the "Kill X Creatures on Nuka-Cola Flavors" one.)

I know it's good enough for GeForce NOW... now if only they would add support for Fallout 4 via GamePass on that. Yes to both. So on Xbox Series X|S, it's going to redownload the entire thing, and replace what you have. So that will be the new size Fallout 4 takes up, minus your saves, Creations, and mods. But you will need that space free to download.

I would just delete the old version if size is going to be an issue or a consideration.

It's interesting when an Xbox Series X installs a game made for Xbox One that has a Series X|S upgrade. It starts installing from the disc, but then stops and downloads the whole package. (You still need the disc to play, in the case of Series X.) Saw this with Cyberpunk 2077 and Sonic Frontiers.

No idea how it is over on PlayStation. Never had a PS4, just a PS3. I want a PS5, but not for Bethesda stuff (they have a bad track record with PlayStation). I want it for Final Fantasy, XVI and the VII remake series, and for stuff I can't get on Xbox. (I have a perfectly good Series X for Xbox stuff.)

Find Cricket (fiend vendor, she's friendly, but a little loopy) and buy the gun "Spray n' Pray." It's basically a cheat gun. Tommy gun that fires explosive rounds. Pretty much deletes anything you point it at. Invest in Demolitions Expert to increase the explosions' radius to hit multiple body parts to get 2x-4x damage on top of the damage bonuses, but beware it will hit you too.

It will increase the resolution of the game itself on consoles — PC gamers have been able to play in 4K for years now, as long as their system supported it. Are you talking about Lexington? It's up to you, actually: there are one bandit in PA, but he's not much of a fighter, so you can "forget" your armor and walk like you want.
Oh, you updated with settlement. Well, create any crate (suitcase, chest etc.) and you've got the stash for weapons/armor/stuff

To kill them with or without the power armor is up to you! But know that power armor requires a "Fusion Core" to stay powered. They're not too hard to find usually but they can be at the beginning of the game. You use more power "running" so if you do take the power armor try not to run too much.

The pieces of your power armor can get damaged (head, torso, arms, legs) and become useless until you repair them at power armor stations, but they don't get destroyed and neither does the power armor frame (the skeleton the power armor sits on).

Best to make you own chest to store it or just put in the Workshop don't use any of the storage containers found in the settlement you actually want to scrap those as they'll reset and you lose your stuff if you put it in them.

Hey yall
needing a bit of help with Fallout 4, specifically with what armor would be most helpful between:

Combat Armor Chest Piece (15 Physical and Energy Armor)
Bolstering Leather Chest Piece (5 Physical, 12 Energy but a buff that "Grants increasing damage and energy resistance the lower your health (Up to +35)")

I know you guys probably get quite a few questions like this, but I'd also love to know if there are any guides that can help me understand the armor system more!
