No information has been released about that yet however I know you were able to transfer Skyrim saves when the native next-gen binaries released and I suspect it will be the case with Fallout 4 but until Bethesda release that information it’s really just a guess.

alright vault 88 is bugged tf out, i have no idea how to remove these visual glitches but im pretty sure its because of all the crap i built

at least the visual glitches are worldspace only and not anything placed by me, eg they only effect whats already been there not whats been built

visual glitches as of stuff dissappears at random while still existing in the terms of collision and such?

if yes you need to uninstall scrap eveything/ every other mod that messes with precombines and start a new game, or if you're lucky you will be able to uninstall the dlc, go in game, save and reinstall it, you will loose progress but outside of that it could work

technical explanation: often when one goes out of bounds in games, the GPU/rendering software weirds out, what happens next is that the GPU copies the last generated frame over and over again

i think you have holes in your walls, i think you either have bugged mods or your game is corrupt, do you use any mods or ck content?

This is a known bug, can you replay the last bit?
If you can make sure Weapon Debris is turned off and immediately as soon as you go into the cutscene press "skip".

No, the stat you want above 10 needs to be debuffed below 10 for the book to work on it

The easiest example is Intelligence; having it at 10, then gaining 1 level of thirst in survival mode (parched) will lower int by 1, then you pick up the book and put the point to int since it would be at 9

So I know there has been talk about the DLCs causing game to crash on PS5. But apparently when you select not load certain DLCs it loads all of them anyway and no way to delete them. (tried turning off auto update and things like that) So deleted an downloading for a fifth time with no DLCs selected to see what it can do (besides also having to wait for it to download and then you click play and it "downloads" again for an evening longer time which is frustrating). So apparently we have to wait until the 25th for an update that hopefully fixes this. It just seems to me that Bethesda really dropped the ball on this one, since the live action show dropped on Prime, but can't play the game. How much revenue do you think was probably lost since people tend to be fickle and already moving on to another game?

Hi guys, so I just downloaded Fallout 4 on my computer but the game doesn't open at all, it even opens the launcher to start the game but when I click to play it gets a black screen and the game exits by itself what do I do?

Check your launcher settings. Could be your screen orientation. Also make sure your graphic card is running the game.

Ok, in case others have the same issue, I think I figured out my issue with the PS5 downloading all the DLCs. It said "shared with Skyrim" So I guess I had bought it as a packaged deal back in the day. I deleted Skyrim and Fallout, selected which DLCs I wanted and it looks like it is only downloading those DLCs.

Ok so the thing is, automotron is the main reason the gamr is crashing on ps4/5, if you have skyrim it keeps those on even if you uninstall them through uninstalling fallout. So delete skyrim and then reinstall fo4 with the dlcs EXCEOT automotron and the game should work

Pretty sure the Additional Bags or whatever it's called might be the best if you're a packrat like myself. Otherwise the Resistances some of the patches offer aren't anything to stick your nose up at; they're pretty nice little boosts.

Well additional space is really only key if you're playing on Survival, since you get ridiculous carry capacity by the endgame without needing the bag.

Just installed Fallout 4 through steam. It use to work for me but for a while now every time I load the game there is no longer visual aspect. A Black Screen only shows and I've tried to fix it through any means I've found.

Could it be I'm using Windows 11 or something?

Would love to see a macOS/Apple Silicon port of Fallout 4. Skyrim is more likely since Apple Silicon is an ARM platform, same as Switch (which Skyrim's already on). But, if one Bethesda game can run on a decade-old ARM platform, I bet they'd all run fairly well on a current one

I wonder if the issue is Bethesda being part of Xbox. They'll support Windows partly because they always have, but also because Microsoft makes both Windows and Xbox, but Macs and macOS is basically "the competition," much like how new Bethesda games aren't coming to PlayStation

There IS a thing I can do to get the Windows version of the game running, but I haven't tried it yet. Essentially Steam runs through something like WINE (I think it's based on WINE), but the game itself is run through something, I think it's called Metal? Essentially it translates the code in real time. On the top Mac from the last (M2) generation, they got Cyberpunk 2077 running at around 30FPS, in the middle of downtown. So, I'm confident Fallout 4 would at least be playable, and might even be enjoyable.

(If Fallout 4 supports Play Anywhere like Starfield does, I can play the PC version of the game via Nvidia GeForce NOW, for one hour at a time. Console commands yes, mods no. Creation Club and Bethesda.net mods, possibly (would have to be loaded each session).

I don't think these mod creators necessarily "must" know. Pretty sure this content is considered Bethesda property even if the creators get a share of the sales. I don't think Bethesda has to consult them about what they do with this content going forward.

hello , this sometimes happens. when you launch the game, go to options and set the display quality to either low or ultra, then relaunch the game. Sometimes I also do a local file check via steam, which can also unblock the problem. I have an RTX 3060Ti graphics card.

Nuka world is a great end game type dlc opposed to an easier probably earlier or mid game play like far harbor. In my experience atleast.

And just like all fallout content it’s got a nice bit of lore with it too.

But it adds a massive portion of land, and a bit of commitment to the main quest but a fun one.

||Sadly kinda of yes, to an extent, the most realistic play through is joining them and clearing out the parks for them, whereas you could just start blastin and the quest “Open Season” starts where you just kill every raider, but that might be exceedingly difficult as there’s a bunch of ‘em. If you do get it and decide to do that make sure to research who to not accidentally kill to avoid losing future quest lines with normal npcs.||

I own Fallout 4 on physical media (and I guess via Gamepass Ultimate which I won't have for much longer). I don't know, that's what I'm wondering. I'm pretty sure your disc will continue to work, but the wording of that is weird since games are licensed to your account or licensed by means of owning the physical media, not licensed to a particular console.

Yeah I assume it’s just if you have a physical disc, hopefully, that it wouldn’t be able to take the update because the next gen is maybe sort of separating the games similar to how gta has a next gen vs old gen version. Not sure though.

It's not like it plays it off the disc anyway. You download the game like everyone else but you have to either have the game on your account or insert the disc to prove you own it. So yeah, hopefully. which is going to be interesting for anyone in the future who has a console without an optical drive. 🙂 but maybe you can plug one in. They're really trying to phase out physical media and if that means you have to buy the game again, too bad. Or maybe they will somehow give you a license if you can prove you own it physically. I don't know.

No, you shouldn't have to. But in the past, when I've installed major updates, I had to go in and re-enable my mods and I've also had to sometimes redownload all my Creation Club purchases otherwise I get error messages on my saved game that content is missing. It's a pain in the butt but it always works as long as I reenable/download them all. Not sure if that will happen this time but it wouldn't surprise me.

Companions get in the way, literally. They can block doors (run at them to make them move). But they can also carry stuff. Minutemen best faction due to the simple fact that they're always there for you regardless of other faction choices

Then focus the main quest

Then work between the institute and the minuteman

Eventually there will be a moment in the institute questline where tou make a speech to the commonwealth

Choose the options you think a good guy will say (there's also a way earlier quest where some mintutmen are in standoff with synths end that peacefully)

You do everything right you end up at a point where your leader of the institute and general of the minuteman and if your playing the good guy then that's the best possible ending

Like for me it after the game ends the head canon is that my character continues to lead the minuteman to protect the commonwealth while using his position in the institute to heal the commonwealth providing technological and medical support and helping food production

If your playing vanilla but using mods in a vanilla + fashion there was a mod I seen a long time ago that made it so if you had the minuteman institute aliience ending you'd see minuteman armed with institute weapons and armor

But once you get used to it, the silenced pipe revolver. 308 rifle is a good survival weapon.
Can even make 3 of them exact same, but with different level zoom scopes, and ammo types, easily switching between depending on situation and ammo carried.

Depending on the rank, yes. What some will do is, quick save right before turning in a quest, and if it doesn't pop, keep reloading until you get the bonus. Bonus points if you drank a tea (from the Slocum's Joe Creation Club content, gives you like 2% or 10% XP, I forget) right before the quicksave.

Actual answer: No, or at least not that we know of.
So, what would power armor be used for, IRL? We have the tech to build power armor. What we don't have is the tech to power it like they do in Fallout 4, with fusion cores. It would take a lot of power, and with how relatively inefficient our power is today, the weight of batteries you would need would offset the benefit of the power armor. It wouldn't be practical in battle, it would be more for lifting, and we have better machines to do that. Forklifts, for example. For battle, we have things like tanks. Fallout 4's power armor, as a concept, is basically a one-man tank and forklift, and mostly it relies upon a power source that doesn't exist in our world.

However, I do think the military has powered helmets with HUDs (Heads Up Displays) like you see in Fallout. That's not hard to do. Heck, consumers can get a HUD with something as simple/cheap as a Meta Quest (gaming VR headset with external cameras) or as advanced as an Apple Vision Pro (spatial computer... essentially fancy, expensive version of the former). They aren't helmets, more like masks, but could be fitted onto a helmet if need be. (But they wouldn't provide any protection for the area they cover. So you'd need to build the helmet out around them.)

So, in a sense, we have almost everything we need to make a power armor helmet. But it's not gonna track threats and how much weight you have on your back, and how much ammo you have in your gun. It'll either let you play games like Beat Saber (Quest) or let you read your email and watch movies (Vision Pro).

But, baby steps...

Not really, you can just visit a settlement and if it has people already there you can talk to them and do their mission to unlock the workbench. No need to ever talk to Preston

Some settlements just require you to clear the enemies there to unlock

they need to iniciate dialouge with you not you with them, just stand & walk near them for long enough that should do it

You are supposed to initiate the conversation first then get the quest on Xbox

This is when you would just use console commands on PC, not sure how to fix on xbox without going back to a previous save.... you could try to kill them and then let them revive... save first though incase that aggros everyone

I had to do this with the quest where you are trying to tunnel under diamond city. Killing the NPC's worked like a charm!

No it does not, the minutemen and piper dont like the brotherhood of steel but siding with the brotherhood doesnt change your relationship with them

The only factions that will turn hostile against you after you side with BOS is the railroad and the institute

currently there are also crashing issues and missing textures issues on the ps5 version, but they should be fixed with that patch so for the best experience i would wait, and then maybe add some qol mods (if its ok for you if you dont get achievements) and generally i would just go in blind for the best experience
