Well poo. I might actually loose the ability to fast travel permenantly. I contacted support to see if they’d find a way to see if a fast travel bug could be patched but nothing so far. 😕 i mean i get it but its a bug that should’ve been patched from the beginning. Before going down any route to "fix the 0KB bug" first check that your save files for FO4 haven't reached the size limit, PlayStation only allows 1GB for saved data.
For that, go to Application Saved Data Management in the settings menu of the PS4 and click "Saved Data in System Storage" then select "Delete." Find Fallout 4 and notice the how big the save file is. If it's 1GB, that's the issue. Delete some old, unnecessary save slots and see if that solves the issue.

If not, you may have corrupted save files. There is a process of finding these and restoring your game but it doesn't always work for everyone and a complete reinstall ends up being the only option. The process is lengthy to write here and involves you clearing the cache and rebuilding the database. If you want it please allow me to DM you (add friend / send friend request) .

First, you can actually increase your agility beyond 10 with legendary armor and temporarily with buffs. Beyond that, the ultra light mods for armor add a flat AP bonus and certain food and chems can directly buff AP

Personally, I never liked laser or plasma in 4 or 76. (Especially the legendary effect that ignores half damage resistance: completely useless for energy weapons.) They never seemed as potent as ballistics. Only exception is a plasma thrower: great for swarming enemies.

The BOS shouldn't have been a major faction in Fallout 4, it would have been best to work more on the unique factions, they should have been contained to Lost Patrol and Danses Recon Team, imo it would have been best to have Danse as a companion, and the Brotherhood being limited to reinforcements for the Cambridge police station who can build up the surronding area into a fort.

If you complete there quests you can become a Knight and get a special suit of power armor, along with the ability to have a BOS strike team help destroy the Institute.

Yes, definitely a stealth/crowd control game. Sniping (with suppressor weapon mod) , mines, grenades, or fighting retreats. You cannot take on a swarm head-to-heads at lvl 14. If you want to try taking swarms on directly, use power armor. I'm lvl 19 on my current playthrough, still using a suppressed .308 pipe sniper rifle to thin swarms. Can't put a suppressor on a hunting rifle until lvl 25 for Gun Nut 3.

Just in case you haven't tried this, make sure you have the quest tracked (select it in the pip boy). Then you should see a flag on your compass indicating Garvey's direction. He walks around a lot, so you could literally be walking in a circle, with him being on the opposite side of the circle.

yeah i went into a building for a quest (can't remember which), shot a supermutant with my pipe pistol, saw like 10 red dots on the map, so i noped out of there, put a suppressor on my pipe pistol, then it was kinda easy dealing with them, the ones i'm having trouble for is the radio tower one (like the 4th quest in that questline)

Make sure you have Fusion Cores on your ammo tab. When one core is depleted, it is instantly replaced. You'll hear a beep when this happens. (Not to be confused with Fusion Cells, the ammo for laser weapons.)

@latent yarrow This is really early in the game and story line. Surely you have not that much to loose if you go back to an earlier save or at worst restart.
Have you got any mods or creation club content installed? It is commonly known that certain CC content can disrupt the progress with Preston and gang at Concord, one specific one is the Tunnel Snakes creation. It's advisable to only enable it after dealing with Preston and gang to the completion of helping Sturges rebuild Sanctuary and get as far as where Preston enlists you to start helping with his radiant settlement help quests.

What do we think everyone? Is there a possibility that Fallout 4 and maybe even Skyrim gets update/upgrade/remaster/remake whatever, that solves this nasty little engine problem we have in every older BGS title? so i restarted my game, i'm currently level 11, just joined the BoS, and i think putting 2 points into the "find more ammo" perk is already showing glowing results, are there other perks that I should invest a couple points that are seriously nice to have? also should i put points into lock picking or hacking?

for me lockpicking and hacking were always the most essential skills to get in every game. they open up quite a few possibilities. i would get both perks as soon as they are available. otherwise you will miss a lot of good loot and valuable information from the terminals of the commonwealth. the second most important would be the scrapping perk. you can never have enough materials for crafting, modifying your gear and upgrading your settlements. other than that, you can fun around i think 😁

yeah basically my first run (first time ever playing this game) had me at lvl 14 realising the perk tree screen would go down, i thought all the perks were on that one screen, so i kinda had an omgwtf moment there lol

so on my 2nd run, lvl 11 with Danse's laser rifle, i already have over 800 ammo for it, and my pipe/10mm have like 200 ammo each, so i'd say i'm in a better place already

if u are on pc there are console commands that allow you to respec. no in game method sadly. my advice? look around and experiment. have some fun. i am sure this will not be your last character 😌 also there is no level cap. in time you can max out every s.p.e.c.i.a.l. and perk if you like. the minimum level requirement for the high end perks is 50 but after that there is no limit.

all you will get with F4 next gen update, probably upscaler + 4k wide screen fix + bunch of creation club mods implemented so badly it will still make people games stuck during "1st pipboy pickup animation". They will also probably remove "nvidiaFLEX" which never really worked anyways. My expectations are even lower than were for starfield

Hi all, has anyone, by any chance, ever used the "set DLC01LoadScreenRate" console command? Can anyone confirm that this command does in fact fix the Automatron loading screen issue? You know, the one where the DLC's loading slides completely take over any other. I've seen someone mention the command on a discussion page from a mod that also fixes the bug

Issues:
1.] Pressing Activate on objects in the starting house does nothing, except on characters.
2.] Sound keeps cutting out
3.] When sound is somewhat working, cannot hear footsteps and my gunfire sounds distant.

If I'm right, in the starting house (Before the bombs fall) activating objects doesn't do anything anyways, except trigger a small dialogue from Nate/Nora. Sounds cutting out might need to get looked into. If all fails, you might want to delete and redownload.

Remasters are usually just updating the visuals of the game so it looks better, maybe adding some bonus stuff like new outfits, weapons, among other things.

Remakes can tell the same story but it may differ in some areas, gameplay can be different or rather similar to the original, possibility of adding new things and maybe removing some things.

Try spamming the Skip scene button immediately as the option is available, you won't get to enjoy the cutscene (you can watch it on YouTube if you want) but it may help complete.
If you go back to an earlier save to try over you may want to turn off Weapon Debris in the advanced settings on the launcher, especially if you have an RTX card on PC

After the Institute detonation, the player character might experience the screen fading to black and eventually will be stuck loading the next cutscene. Use the console to relocate the Sole Survivor coc RedRocketExt (in this case, Red Rocket) and continue the game. Then type coc massfusionext02 to update the Mass Fusion building cell.

Is it unpopular to say I think the best Brotherhood of Steel was 4. Like it was a mellowed down do-good version of 3's Elder Lyons chapter with a now equal balance of focusing on preserving technology while also keeping to the practice of humanitarianism across the wasteland.

I think it would be better if fallout 4 does NOT receive a creation club update after the total utter flop of skyrims remaster of creation club due to a lot of problems on first hand. Better to probably wait until all games are polished before more save corrupting updates are released since fallout 4 has so many bugs and none of which have been fixed even though it’s a little over a half a decade old and has pretty much been abandond. Not to mention what if creation club mods that are released in the remastered version are even more unpolished than the actual game? Thus breaking vanilla game more.

True true. If anything I wish they would lower the CPU requirements for fallout 4. Because it's running my low end CPU pretty heavy. Chugging out a decent 15fps on this old laptop but at the cost of lots and lots of visual bugs and errors that resolve themselves upon re-opening the game.

Typically I go by sticking with the minutemen, bring them tk sanctuary, add a few settlements to the arsenal, then go do the Kelogg bit and help around Diamond City, come back and take ||The Castle||, continue main quest on minutemen side to the end

I'm still peeved that the only way to fix the contraptions/manufacturing DLC to incorporate other DLC items such as weapons, ammo, armour from their other DLC's Nuka world and Far Harbor is through mods. Yet the second you use mods blocks achievement unlocks. I know to download mods while i’m in the game (in the mods menu) and all of that, but I can’t for the life of me figure out modding the game through nexus.

If you own it you should have the regular game files wherever the app installs them too. Point your manager of choice, Vortex or MO2, to this directory and then when you find a mod on Nexus you want to try, under the "Files" tab you should see an option to download via a mod manager. This should pass the download over to the manager which will put it in the right place for you.

There are some good tutorial vids online for how to use either manager. Vortex is a lot easier, but MO2 is a lot more powerful.

You used to be able download nexus mods manual files to a game pass version via the xbox for windows app.
I think this was removed by microsoft.
The method was to Launch the app, Choose your game, go to the details page and look for This Game Can Be Modified
If yes then click More Actions and choose Open Mods Folder
You could then manually drop the files there.
Not all of the mods on Nexus were compatible though. for instance, any that had dependencies on other required mods such as SMM, MCM, SKE etc and no f4se mods would work either.

So the short answer is quite possibly you can't. You're going to need the Steam version 🤷‍♂️

download vortex. look up on youtube how to use vortex for fallout 4. there are tons of videos and its super easy to use. my friend who just bought a pc figured it out very quickly. it will place them in the correct load order and makes every thing a 100x easier. trust you won’t regret it

f4 is a lot diffrent than the other ones, you can easly put points into special with perk points you get every level

melee weapons are horrible because they hit slowly but its good to keep one around just in case

google f4 perk chart and you can figure out most things from the tree

I love stealth builds, esp bc you can get the "Deliverer" insanely early in game, and agility boosts pistols and stealth

there arent any cybernetic upgrates like NV or f2, but there is a childrens book in your old home which allows for a free stat point

agility is probably the most important stat again because you can increase automatic weapons damage and pistols with it

4 inteligence and 4 perception is required for lockpick and hacking perks

charisma is best at 8 or 9, this game uses a hidden chance of succeding at a speech check like f3 did, but now you only have colors to signal how hard a check is

you wont get a proper automatic weapon untill you are around level 10 which isnt much, i easly get 50 by the ending

if you dont feel like hacking recruit a certain detective, he can hack terminals up to hard level (75 as the game sees it and how it used to be), if you hate lockpicking you can recruit an addict in east downtown boston, you will get the loctaion thru ambient dialouge in diamond city most likely

PA has a weird difficulty curve, at the start you keep running out of fusion cores and then you have too much

if you play survival i recommend the mod horizon (best start a new game for it), its also good to use the small settlement near DC to save 2000 caps on buying a house in the city, you need sleep to save games

am having a bit of a problem, as i'm progressing in this game (i'm like level 16 now), problem being i use 3 guns for different situations, danse's laser rifle with a long scope for headshots, 10mm with a circle target to blast enemies, but now i wanna get rid of my pipe pistol because i feel the damage is not enough already and i have no idea what kinda gun to change it to, i tried a hunting rifle but the reloading after every shot is killing me and i'm not sure i have enough ammo to use like a SMG regularely, anyone can help me?

The middle "Slim" PS2 was the best one. That thing is damn near immortal. One of the revisions for the original fat unit was solid too. The original one, not so much. The "ultra" or whatever they called the really tiny one was cheap as hell.

Maybe not so strangely the PS3 followed a similar life-cycle. The PS4 was fairly solid all around.

If you're going for vanilla I'd chose which faction you're going to support and then pick a playstyle. I've done all sorts of crazy builds in FO4 and had fun with all of them. My last was Idiot Savant/Charisma build. A lucky idiot so to speak. Dumb, but charming.
Of course an Intelligence build is the fastest for leveling and expanding your capabilities.

I am genuinely excited for Fallout london, as it will be fun seeing what types of whacky creatures and mutants we will see, also the lore will be interesting, as i love lore diving, but of course i like the fact we will be dealing with the free masons as well, as it is not often a real life group is depicted in a way that can be debated to be positive, as it is clear that the free masons will be a joinable evil faction in th emod probably, after all, it would be weird if you could't join the faction that you start as a member off, as we can see a free mason logo in the first area that we saw in the gameplay reveal a few monthsa go, meaning that yeah, we will either begin as a free mason or have the ability to join the free masons in game, or at least interact with them in some way, which will be fun, as i love learning about real life cultic and less mainstream societys through gaming, aas it is like siting through a fictionalized documentary in a weird way, also i jsut think their achitecture is really cool from a cultural view point, as i like the more gothic architecture, as it reminds me of the more grounded and bleak aspects of Fallout 1 and fallout 2, as i enjoy the more uncanny valley feel of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, as a apoalyupse would't be all sunny and funny with darkness behind all the fun and rainbows, it would be bleak and horrible with the fun in the background of that, and it feels l ike Fallout London will be more bleak then fun, whcih is quite fitting due to how London was quite bleak and dim in the past

I think it is neat how they took anan idea from a mod developer for FNV and made it an offiical feature in Fallout 4, it feels like a way of saying that the modder did something truely historical, as without that modder, we most likely would't have settlement building at all, as his mod for FNVv is kinda similar to the heartfire DLC for skyrim, except his mod for FNV is way way more impressive then Heartfire, due to how FNV uses a much older engine then Skyrim does, after all, the engine is quite different in both games, as that is what happens when an engine gets updated over time, after all, back then for an example, textures had to be changed using TextureSets, instead of Material Swapping, which is a much slower and clunkier process, sure it faster in that it only requires raw dds texture files, but it is slower in that material files are faster to load and take less space, anyway that is just my perspective, though camp building in Fallout 76 is quite a downgrade rather then an upgrade, as well, that menu is a mess to navigate, even with a keyboard and mouse, also the small size of camps and the small building limit, is quite a downgrade, sure i get the reasons behind the downgrades, as well, the serverts ain't above average standards when it comes to bandwidth, though that is kinda biased for me to say, as someone who has fiber internet, which is quite stable, except when there is any kind of seismic activity, but besides those timses, i have quite a short delay speed of about 30 ping delay, which is massively little, as the highest ping delay i have ever had is 150, and that was on gmod when playing on a server hosted in japan, which is quite crazy good ping delay considering the distance, regardless though, i get why the camp building has it's many flaws and restrictions in Fallout 76, though in fallout 4,, it bearly can be better then it is in my opinion

Have you tried clearing game cache? I had very few issues on my series x.. on a Survival game where saving without resting is not an option, I didn't have any issues with crashes leading to loss of progression.. I suppose I did have crashes, but rarely before the 3 hour mark in one session. This lead to me trying to rest now and then to save, when I otherwise probably wouldn't have.. but the issue wasn't too big of a deal, even on survival

You know what always annoyed me about Fo4? The fact Sanctuary Hills never patches up the holes in houses overtime, like boarded up or anything, just lets it be open to the elements. You gotta install a mod for that

first of all, youve just bought the worst version of the game as it doesnt allow non-beth mods

second, may i take a look at your ini files? their location is: C:\Users\ YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Fallout4

they contain your settings such as loading of models and other weird technical stuff, usually when something in a non-modded game is wrong its wrong there

third: how cant you save the game? is the button grayed out? it can do that during some cutscenes or when you play in survival mode

I'm not an expert on builds. I just wanted clarification for that as those perks are in different SPECIAL trees.

Personally I'd go for Agility, at least lvl 3 Intelligence for Gun Nut, and maybe Luck 4 so you can have the Mysterious Stranger perk. Pistols work at close range so having a one-hit kill backup doesn't hurt.

Sort of. The worlds and lore are of course very different, but the structure of the games is very similar.. from major factions, to main story build up, quest design, game mechanics, world items, NPC ai/coding.. its got Bethesda written all over it for both games and they're thus quite the same from a structural point of view

And a good thing that is.. there are many great Devs out there, but I can't think of anyone that's got so many titles among my absolute favorites. TES 3,4,5 and Fallout 3 and 4 are absolute giants and are all closely related to one another in that Bethesda dna.

TES 3 perhaps being the odd one out there, as its from different era entirely. Still a masterpiece and my favorite so far. (Nostalgia is a powerful thing)

There is one very important difference in game mechanics between Fallout 4 and Skyrim. Fallout 4 uses a Dungeons-and-Dragons-style experience system to level characters up, whereas Skyrim uses a skill-based system. In Fallout 4 we gain experience by killing enemies, discovering locations, completing quests, ect. In Skyrim our characters level up by using skills.

the devs very obviously want you to take a very specific path to the Strip and limit any other path you can take by putting high level enemies in your way
1 of the biggest problems i have with NV, the devs just really force you down a linear path

Sure but you also could just ignore that. The story way is obviously what the game wants you to go down because it’s for pacing, they want you to go the way Benny went. However, you don’t ever have to, you can avoid the deathclaws using stealth or hugging the cliff and you can kill off the cazadores early on.

The game is subconsciously creating a narrative and challenging fake wall for the player that encourages players who have beaten the game to go down the other routes and new players the story.

I don’t think I am because the Josh Sawyer said that the intention was to make the new player to head down the story path to learn about the factions and do certain side quests. However, you don’t ever have to do that. The point isn’t that the game encourages direction but that the game allows for multiple directions without actually hindering the story.

this. When I first learned about Fallout from some video on Youtube I was told that the game gives you complete freedom. "Go wherever you want, do whatever you want". The guy in the video was describing Fallout 3. I searched on Steam and saw two games - Fallout 3 and New Vegas. F3 came out in 2008 and NV came out in 2010. I thought to myself that the newer game must be better and bought New Vegas. After exiting Doc Mitchell's house I remembered the quote from the video and went in a random direction. Got killed by the scorpions.
The disappointment I felt when I realized that there was only one direction I could go in was huge
