The BOS have no conflict with the Minutemen unless you get the Minutemen ending and strike the Prydwen so you can absolutely be Sentinel in the BOS (and get their ending) while also being General of the Minutemen and having the Castle afaik

Well, you can be the General and the Sentinel, but it was cut from the game for some reason. Hopefully, there are a couple of mods to restore that possibility

Yeah, it’s the Minutemen who strike first if you are enemies with the BOS. But this can only happen if you side with the MM for the main quest.

So you can do either the BoS or MM ending and have both alive, however you can only be sentinel if you do the BoS ending.

Hey all, new here! I just started playing Fallout on my pc (originally played it on Xbox), but I did ran into some issues. I want to stream my game play trough OBS but as soon as I open up the game it messes with some stuff in OBS (like replacing my chat overview etc)... Also; the game play isn't showing on my first monitor whenever I switch to my second monito (OBS/Broweser etc..). I really would love to stream this nostalgic stream, but it is not really letting me. Any tips and tricks?

Survival is quite brutal until you get some basic gear and a few perks to balance the books.

Corvega becomes a lot easier if you can get a hunting rifle and clear the exterior from max range. Take a good long time to ensure you get all patrols.. then when inside, you should just ignore all mobs spread around the factory because they're often tougher than the boss and not worth the effort, if it's the MM quest you wanna progress.. make sure to have a few grenades and the boss fight is over quick enough.

Out of curiosity, when is Fallout 4's mod support and creation club going to get the same fix as Skyrim?
As it stands, I can not have all of my Creation Club content installed without crashing the game and making it impossible to play. I don't even own that much. I paid real money for purchases I can't even use.
Skyrim AE allows for my ability to not only play with all of the Creation Club content, but a full mod list of 100 mods with no issues. Please, make Fallout 4 playable again.

Hunting rifle or double barrel shotgun are very good starting weapons. Both are easily found on raiders or usually in duffel bags

And then keeping a 10mm on you for a good while helps save on .308 ammo, somewhat with shotgun ammo though I've never had much problem keeping high ammo counts with shotgun shells.

A good way to get ahead is to a laser weapon and not laser musket upgrade the laser weapon and ammunition is widely available throughout the commonwealth

If you can get a good legendary or just have the perks necessary to modify the laser/plasma weapons, they are great mid to late game guns.

All the CC quests reference the first quest "Out of Time" to check if you're out of the vault yet. They cause all sorts of bugs with that quest, including Codsworth. Best to install CC after that quest is complete. "Out of Time" ends when you first see Preston Garvey on the museum balcony.

SS stands perfectly fine on its own. If you want more, you should look for mods that perhaps add more weapon and Armor variety in a balanced way.. or perhaps some gameplay tweaks.. perhaps play on Survival, that changes things a lot. Face-tanking 5 super mutants is no longer an option in Survival.. and the mode gels really nice with SS

I like mods that add a lot of small stories alongside their own thing, doubly so if they fit in well with vanilla, so if you wanted a boost of things to do that didn't look out of place, Tales of the Commonwealth and Fourville are always easy votes from me.

I always dump all the CC files into a new folder when I start a game. It's the only way you can "turn them off" if you've already downloaded them. I then, typically wait until I lead Garvey and crew to Sanctuary. Make a hard save at that beginning location of the game. Then exit and load all the CC stuff. It solves all the CC beginning quest problems for me.

First off you're wrong. Xbox has gamepass. The hardware on the series x is better and not as prone to failure.

Second its because of Sony and there bs policy against external assets that bethesda could not implement the same level of modding xbox has on the Playstation 5

The games are all the same naughtydog style story focused singleplayer experiences, sony has been pushing back against crossplay for years, sony is now charging more for the ps5 rather then less, ps+ is inferior to gamepass ultimate in literally every way possible and its laughable how people keep defending them.

Anyway once sony does better i might consider buying a sony console again but thats doubtful since im a bethesda fan and bethesda games at least for the console market will stay on xbox

Fallout 4 now runs on my very shotty laptop. Apparently all I needed was more ram. 4GB is better than 2GB.

According to the bugs section of that mod if you are seeing it being held with one hand in first person then it's probably because you havent added a stock to it as your character will only hold it two handed in first person if there is a stock on it. As that's how it was held on FNV and fo3.

If you want text then imagine that there's a black layer around an object. Enveloping the item but upon the camera approaching it the darkness around it fades subtly. But still there and visible.

One thing you can easily do is moving the ini files, from %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Fallout4, to somewhere safe and start the game. The game creates new ones with default settings and see if it persists.

Unless of course you use mo2 and the inis are in that profile if those are used.

There are 3 ini files that should be backed up to try it. But yes, remove the inis and start the game.

One needs to remember though, that mods are enabled from the inis also.

The only one I had altered was the preferences ini to try and shut off any godrays.

So a simple pull of that should have fixed it.

To be fair I am running FO4 with 4gb of ram so I would have had lag regardless. And I do in fact get lag.

Exactly. Why is Skyrim still getting an update instead of focusing their attention on Starfield, and the development of TES6, with the small developments coming to Fallout 4. Not a 14 year old game.

You’re forgetting all the DLC that’s gonna be in Starfield. We’re only a few months in launch. Game support lasts about 5-6 years unless you’re Skyrim.

It's really not.
I'm a massive Bethesda fan, I was on the front lines when 76 dropped trying to convince people that it was just a fluke. I praised the things 4 did well and held it up for it's virtues. I even weighed in on Fallout 3's behalf when the retroactive bashing through NV really got into full swing.

But 76 doesn't appear like it was a Fluke. Fallout 4 doesn't appear to have been a momentary lapse in judgement. Starfield is /extremely/ disappointing to me as a lifelone Bethesda fan and I've basically been forced to throw in the towel and accept that they're not as good at doing what they do as they used to be.

Because most likely it will drop just how the recent Skyrim update did, look up the "dechirico" Steam depot on Fallout 4, it's actively being worked on, and recieving updates. Furthermore, it takes roughly a week to a whole month or more for an update to receive a console certification from both Microsoft and Sony (remember it has to be updated across 2 different platforms/networks and 4 consoles) along with the PC release. If someone knows more about this than me feel free to correct me but from what I gather, this is what I know.

If looking at the fixes from the Skyrim update say anything, don't get your hopes up on game-fixing bug patches. You'll probably still need to install some mods to fix them. Also, Boston FPS Fix is deprecated by PRP btw

There's just no way they can seamlessly incorporate the work from mods like UFO4P (Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch), PRP (Previsibines Repair Pack), CFM (Community Fixes Merged), High FPS Physics Fix, Long Loading Times Fix, Buffout 4, Sprint Stuttering Fix, Weapon Debris Fix, Ownership Fixes, etc all into one update. So you'll still need them, but some of their forwarded records and changes will probably need to be updated to accomodate the new updated version of FO4. Also, F4SE dependent mods will need to be updated, and knowing how the community is for Fallout 4, they'll somehow pretend that this is magnitudes worse than what's happening over at Skyrim (it isn't). If any of those mods are rendered obselete by an updated version of Fallout, amazing, if not, I don't really care either way. I'll still have to wait for updated libraries and script extender dependent mods to be updated like I am on Skyrim (remember Skyrim already had a schism over 1.5.97 and 1.6+ and now the current 1.6.1130 version means you have people operating potentially 4 different versions of the same game all expecting mod support).

Remember that while Fallout 4 is a valued game in the franchise, 76 is the current game in the franchise receiving the most updates and support. Starfield is their main game with the most focus on it and if I had to say, they probably have some of that focus on developing the next DLC for it. So they might be stretched thin across many different projects, along with the recently released Skyrim update and managing the newly added things. Although I agree a lack of communication sucks, it's perfectly reasonable to understand the circumstances and why this might be.

If you buy a new PC, a good way to check for coil whine is to run a game in it's menu with the framerate uncapped.

That 2gb limit is a lot more limiting then you might think. If fallouts patch was as big as the skyrim one no one would use it as it would eat up almost a fourth of the space
