How do I layer on floor pieces. I tried but it didn’t allow me. Also, what mod can I use on the ps4 that’ll allow me to build more things. I’m reaching my maximum right now

Sorry Bofa, If you can't do it with pillar glitching (Google that if you don't know) and you are not using QwaPA then I have no clue how else to layer floor pieces on Ps4.
As for decreasing your build budget, that's easy without a mod. All you need to do is drop stuff (high poly count weapons like the gamma gun or gause rifle are best) one at a time on the floor. Now go into build mode, highlight the dropped items and select the Store (not scrap) option. This will in effect decrease the budget bar the same way storing or scrapping things you have already built.

The beauty of storing and not scrapping the items you drop is that they will be in your Workbench where you can retrieve them and repeat the process.

I tried going to YouTube for that answer and they talked about a glitch (for the building space) and a lot of people mentioned it crashed their game. Is that the same glitch?

It is. It only causes problems if you abuse it, go mad and do it too many times. If you just reduce the budget by enough to build a few pieces you need then it's fine.
To be safe you can make a save you can return to before you do it each time.

If you have limited save space delete them if the process is successful 🤷‍♂️

Yea, I was a good ways into the game on PC, but sometimes it was taking more than a minute to transition between locations. I downloaded a Mod to fix that and it took me a month to discover achievements were disabled, so I rage quit... I'm really hopeful the update will fix all of that and some of the other issues I was encountering so I can play the game again. I really miss it... 😢

I guess I’ll elaborate. I bought a physical copy of PS4 at launch with a preordered season pass. I played that disc till it literally stopped working from overuse or wear. I had all DLCs but had deleted from the HDD for space. I got a new disc off Amazon but I think it’s the UK regional disc and I can’t access or download the DLCs while using that disc. Anyone know where to get help? Reddit said to try Bethesda support, and the website pointed me to these discords.

I hate to admit it but starlight drive and made it a little too easy making a settlement. The fact I can surround it with three story high cement walls made it way too defendable. That's why I'm starting a second one and doing it in the place you cannot do that... Spectacle Island

That's another thing that I hope they fix in the next-gen update. Spectacle Island is so large that it has issues loading/keeping track of the whole island at once. I.E. might not count all resources, etc

I do simple structures cause it's pointless when npc ai & pathing won't utilize or function properly on most builds. Hell even when I do the most basic settlements you still get the odd settler spawning in weird location that gets stuck so they get pissy & drop the happiness down. Annoying buggers

That's why I stopped doing the vault-tec DLC and just used the items you acquired through it somewhere else. The character mapping was terrible and vault dwellers kept on getting stuck in miscellaneous parts of the vault

That's the only thing I would like fixed if they did a update is to fix the mapping for all the NPCs

@blissful cypress there is something I remember. I might get this a try again that there is this mod called: vault 201-skeleton Crew. It's a 30-foot story space with a huge budget. And there's no nooks and crannies for your vault dweller to get lost.

For its size you would think it would make a huge difference but no, the texture difference is barely noticeable.
In short, no it's not worth it.
There's much better texture mods on Nexus. I use Flaconoil myself, it has 1K 2K and 4K downloads. I use the 2K version and am very happy with it.

I just had a great idea! There is a mod to bring the colors of vault 76 on fallout 4. Now granted I'm not going to call it vault 76 but vault 201. But I did like the architecture of 76 and that's one going to get my inspiration from. But I'm going to make it completely open all access. The only catch?

Scrounger (LCK 2). It helps you find more ammo when scavenging rather than having to pay lots of caps to get more ammo.

I would also recommend buying Old faithful from arturo in diamond city and modding it into a sniper rather than is base pistol. It’s legendary effect does double damage to targets if they’re at full health. Science (INT 6) and gun nut (INT 3) will help you mod this weapon to its peak.

I just came back from the institue. I went to the railroad and they want me to choose between them or minutemen. Is it too late to be on good terms with all the 3 factions? Can I still be good with all them against the institute?

Iirc technically, the 'longest' is the institute but that's because you can run like 60% of the other factions quests before you get locked into them then you can start the institute to get locked out of them

How far are you in each sides story? What missions are you up to?

Say you will work with the railroad then they will give you underground undercover. Then go to the brotherhood and complete their side of spoils of war which you will receive from the institute. Make sure you get anything you want from the institute before starting spoils of war.
Then complete spoils of war and afterwards talk to the railroad and you will receive burning cover which is basically the minutemen ending. Proceeding any further in the BOS quests will lead to the railroad’s destruction. If you wanna keep the three factions alive do this.

Also if you have been given blind betrayel from Maxon don’t officially complete it until after you have done. BOS spoils of war because you may be unable to speak to Ingram.

Ensure that you hit the evacuation order when inside the institute to stay good with the railroad.

Yes I could, but there is a problem. Settlers have a random spawn point. They're never in one area and if I'm building a settlement I don't know how to keep them there

Think about it @wide flower. Practically all of the authors of these mods either from Nexusmods or bethesda.net have quit and gone to better horizons. Some of the modders who have been involved with the modding scene for FO4 have shown themselves to be more capable and willing than some of the developers themselves. Impressive to me, and I think they should do much much more with their imagination and creativeness. Still, like me, I find it easy and fun.

A camping mod developed by fadingsignal was added to the CC, along with backpacks I believe. Certain things should simply be there. The Unofficial FO4 Patch should be incorporated, along with several other “utility” mods like that.

Just those small engine fixes and such turn FO4 from a clanky buggy hellscape into something enjoyable.

Yep, that's what happened to me. I got so tired of it taking anywhere from 60 seconds to infinity when exiting buildings I reached out to support and they finally told me to 'Look to the community for help'. I did and found out about the FO4LoadAccelerator Mod, but didn't realize something that simple would disable achievements (my bad). When I discovered this I rage quit after a month of playing with the Mod and missing all of those achievements.

I mean.... Far Harbour and Nuka World are exceptionally good, but you'll still have a good time without them. YOu will, most likely, want them if you do end up enjoying 4 though. so a goty version might suit better

Just from my personal experience, when they put Fallout NV on Game Pass I started it and then I felt like I had to have the DLCs to continue. I went to Game Stop and got the GOTY disk and then it drove me crazy because I always had to have the disk in the console to play. While it was a lot cheaper to get the disk it was way more inconvenient because I had a Xbox console in my room I played on sometimes and I had another one (Xbox One X) in the living room and often times I wanted to play on the bigger screen. Swapping that disk back and forth drove me mad... So, just keep that in mind if you start playing and decide to get the DLCs. Also, I found FO4 to be a lot better to play on PC, but I had a pretty decent PC to play it on too. If I had it to do over again I think I would have just got the GOTY edition for PC and skipped the Xbox for FNV. From everything I've seen there are some issues with FO4 on Xbox too. Just be informed is all. Hope this helps...

Hey guys I have a question, so I'm doing far harbor stuff, and I've got both DiMA and Kasumi to a point where 2 of my quests say to talk to them-
(One about confronting DiMA about the wind kill switch, and Kasumi, to tell her to home) but both of them are broken? 😭
Kasumi just says "come back to me when this is all over", and DiMA just doesn't have that option when speaking to him.

Thought fallout 4 was horribly unoptimized on PC, was only getting 70-80 frames at ultra settings at 1440p. (with a 3090 and i9-11900k.) Updated my nvidia drivers and that reset my settings from borderless to fullscreen. Now I'm getting a pretty consistent 165. Apparently fallout 4 just hates borderless windowed.

I played it back when it first came out, was my first fallout game and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Played it vanilla too.

It might be to do with pathing @frozen lance , your bike is on the default ground. Vault 88 is notorious for its lack of pathing.
Build an area of floor pieces clem can walk to the bike on. The floor pieces are all navmeshed and help with his pathing.

You need a generator connected to a terminal then the terminal to the bike. Use the terminal to select one of the 3 experimental settings. Then assign him to the bike.

Though he should just get on the bike by himself as soon as you select a setting

Depends on the type of mod. Some mods will have in their description that they need to be activated after the vault (Usually pipboy-related ones). Some need to be activated before you start a new game, others can be activated whenever. It really depends on the mod.

On a technical level everything is overpowered, so it breaks the balance of the base game. It's like the base game got hit by 50% stats-inflation.

From a story point of view the factions and NPCs are meh, and there are few if any meaningful choices.

Very few characters from the base game would make the choices you need to make in NW. So it would have been better as an "alternate start" mod where you play a raider from L1 and all through the game.

Letting an anti-raider PC step into the role of Overboss and then destroy the clans is very controved.

I don't think raiders would give any loyalty to an outsider who won only by rigging a rigged contest.

If you killed Coulter in unarmed combat or melee they might have a limited respect. But I still don't buy it. They would really only accept another raider as Overboss.

You have no knowledge of, or respect for, their culture and norms

And most likely you spent the previous 30 levels as war leader of one or more factions that kill raiders on sight and want to clear them from the Commonwealth. You are probably known in raider circles as Public Enemy #1 or the Boogieman, before you even get to NW.

it only made sense that such a man would walk in, see what's up, and destroy the place, but to do so you lose a large part of what was written for the DLC in the first place

and playing along to the near-end where you decide not to harm your settlements, it just made me, as the perosn behind the PC, feel gross

In fact the whole story is self contradictory because you only go into the park in the first place for altruistic reasons. But then once you kill Coulter you have to do an ethics 180 turn to continue with the story. And then probably another 180 at the end.

What should happen is:

• You get your ass handed to you in Concord by something pretty basic
• the refugees haul you back to Sanctuary to heal you up
• Ma Murphy first proves her powers are real and then tells you Sean is alive and safe and he wants you to find him but you need to survive to do that, and get strong enough first
• ideally Sean gives you subtle help along the way and if you're perceptive you can see the traces

If i were a parent, I’d let my kids do what i did, watch poltergeist and Trading Places aged 5, Robocop and Alien aged 11, and of course Universal rated films like original Clash of the titans at any age. But then i would also teach them from a very early age to distinguish between fiction and Fantasy so they know its not for real. Just to clarify : That particular machine is broken, hence why it is in that repair shed with other broken things. As you have already discovered it will dispense the pie 100% of the time.

You can build the teleporter with either of the 3 factions, Minutemen , BOS or Railroad but you do need to find the Railroad HQ and have Tinker Tom decode the courser chip.
If you have killed the Railroad you can still use Tinker Tom's computer yourself to decode it.
You do not have to join the Railroad in any case to build the teleporter. Once the chip is decoded you can build it with either the BOS or Minutemen and ignore the Railroad entirely if that's what you wish.

Yes.

There's specifically post-main quests and radiant quests that will pop up as well, you can essentially keep playing until the heat death of the universe if you can stay alive that long.

Yes this is a very common problem with CC. The solution on PC is to remove CC. On console you need to uninstall FO4 and reinstall it.

Nope. You ask a bad apple for side missions. He offers you an off the books mission. If you bother to ask he tells you it's not approved by command. You still take the mission because you don't care. Then, you decide to solve the mission by extorting civilians. That's all on you. It's role playing. It's your choice. And it's contrary to BoS ethics and the BoS chain of command. So you can role play a bad apple. That's on you, not the BoS.

The Institute steal power and whatever they want from civilians and kill anyone who gets in their way. That happens not because the player decides to do it (like the BoS). It happens regardless.
The railroad steal memories from civilians to program escaped synths (where else do they get the memories?) and mind-wipe escaped synths, who trust them, basically mind-murdering them.
If you don't want to be in an evil faction, try the MM. But the BoS aren't evil (even if the PC chooses to be evil). Just disciplined and a little arrogant.
You can even choose to be evil in the MM. When a settlement needs your help you can go there and murder them and claim the settlement. Preston is none the wiser.

In FO4 all feral ghouls are hostile. The BoS do not kill non-feral ghouls. In FO4 all supermutants are hostile except Virgil and Strong. You can persuade the BoS to spare Virgil and they don't attack Strong. In FO4 all raiders are hostile without exception. In FO4 all synths are hostile except G3s. You can persuade the BoS to spare Danse.
The BoS protect the civilians of the Commonwealth from clear and present dangers that will attack on sight and won't stop until the victim is dead.
But yeah they are a little arrogant.

If that’s the only reason though then they should release a mod in the Creation Club that increases the mod storage size. That way people who want to continue with old saves are fine but those who don’t mind starting a new character can do so with more mods.
