Yes, at any point you can kill them to gain access to the power plant... Also try the mod skip home sweet home... You only have to take over the parks, no raiding commenwealth settlements, so you can complete nuka world without angering the minutemen.

Ur not supposed to kill the 3 bosses, after assigning each section of the park to a raider gang, either pack operators or (i forget other ones name), the group you gave the least power to will revolt and go to the power plant, starting the final mission, you only have to kill the leader of whatever group is revolting, then after killing them they drop a key to the control room at the power plant and you turn the power on that way

There is a quest given by one of the slave vendors in the market that gives a quest to kill all raider bosses... You can do this immediately upon arriving in nuka world, and get the quest to start the power plant.

Your given the option to not become a raider.

It isn’t worth it to kill it…
if u take it to ur settlement, u can have it as a unique settlement defense and sorta settler…

but if u kill it, u get a new wall trophy, and the meat. And you can’t find another quantum stag, so if u kill it, that’s it. No more quantum meat or heads

That’s why I prefer sending it to a settlement. Preferably the castle (or sanctuary)!

Im currently working on beating the dlc. In the middle of vault tec workshop, have yet to get to the other 3.

Even on survival mode, my level 93 railroad stealth rifleman character can beat anything in little to no effort. A cake walk.

I like the survival options mod, it lets you get rid of the need to sleep, or make it so those needs don't decay as fast. It also lets you change the damage. So instead of only doing 50% or whatever, I always set it so enemies and myself doing 200%.

The alien weapons in 76 are reused assets from 4’s cc, so is the captain cosmos power armor, And the auto Axe as well, As 4 was meant to get the auto axe through cc, but was cancelled, as evident by the cc file, which lists the name of cc content

You don’t get much rewards out of minutemen… do everything up to getting the castle, talking to Ronnie Shaw, and then just do the quests with the castle.

You can still get all the bos stuff done after that

Only suggestion I would have on that Aqur is to check the miscellaneous quest section to see if there is a new quest.

I do have a question for all of the fine folks here, I am running my first new playthrough on a new pc, using Steam access. Got to the point of detonating the reactor at the Institute, and when the game goes to the end cut scene, it freezes. I attempted it several times, and each time it is the same scenario. Disabled all mods that I had running (am using the ESO mod list through Vortex), and even uninstalled/reinstalled the game. Each attempt the game froze at the same time. I checked for updates needed on the pc and installed those, it was the same result. I am at a loss on what to do next to get past the cut scene and continue playing on this playthrough.

As I understand it with the RTX range of cards starting from 2018 is not the card itself per se but that with the introduction of this range Nvidea dropped support for FleX used by fo4. Turning off weapon debris fixes crashes in that respect.

I don't know how that would translate to Radeon but there's certainly no loss in trying I guess 🤷‍♂️

More insight. The game freezes and becomes unresponsive at this point, the lone survivor is standing on top of the building with Elder Maxom, and he is asking to push the button. The button gets pressed, explosion, then enters the cut scene. The fame locks about a second after the screen goes Grey, which I am assuming is the start of the ending monolog.

Now I went through any feature listed in the AMD Software Adrenalin program and changed the ones that I believe are affecting gameplay. I also have adjusted the initial menu options for game graphics (utilizing the advanced features as well) and disabled or set to lowest quality, including screen size so that I can monitor other applications as well. Utilizing HWMonitor and the live graphs provided by task manager, I ran the game several times. The game consistently froze about 1 second into the cut scene. One thing that I did notice was that my disk drive (nvme) always showed usage when game started or something requiring disk access. But not when the cut scene starts. It showed zero activity. I am at a loss on where to go from here. I went from Xbox One game crashes in downtown Boston to PC game freeze at the end of a major storyline.

That could cause issues with certain legendary effects, Like for an example, Explosive and incendiary both change the projectile

though a legendary effect that changes to a projectile that has both effects would work

You know, Automatron may be the weakest of the story DLC but it's got some really good silly guns.

I play with FPS boost (1080p/60FPS) and aside from some small stutters sometimes there is no significant FPS drop. I know the downtown drama (played the game for years on a Xbone from 2015) but when someone is crashing or have severe FPS drops now on a Series i would think it might be mod related. Although i have to admit i haven't played vanilla since 2016 so i have no idea how the vanilla game behaves. But i don't use any performance mods, only the console fps boost.

Hello I have a problem with fallout 4 on PC, I have joined up with the brotherhood of steel and I completed in setting up the bomb in the institute to blow up the base, I continue the story and teleport on top of the building, I press the button to blow up the instiute and as the screen slowly greys out my screen freezes when it goes completely gray and nothing happens, I open up task manager and it says fallout 4 is not responding, i have not installed any mods. I finish my Mr House run of FO4- Here is some stuff I accomplished in that run

-Used only a suit and sometimes PA + Energy weapons to finish the game. I allowed myself to use some pistols.

-Used only robot companions like Ada until I swapped her with Nick Valentine who’s technically a robot.

-Became General of the Minutemen

-Became Director of the Institute

-Wiped out the BoS, executed Maxson and also wiped out the Railroad.

-Got the support of 10 settlement which 3-4 are nearly 80% support while the rest are in the 60s-70s.

-Claimed the Island settlement to make my Robot Empire there

-Claimed the Castle to make it into a fortress for my new Empire

-Took over Bunker Hill for dem caps

• Reached 10k caps until I wasted them all for shipments of steel

• Sided with Convent, gave confidence to Travis, attempted to assassinate the mayor but failed miserably, wiped out General Atomic Galleria after failing to assassinate the director and also took over the Mr Handy farm to feed my new empire. Took over Vault 88 and recreated Vault 21 via making concrete barriers in the vault.

-Planning to wipe out the raiders within Nuka World and to also do the Far Harbor quests. I guess also finish the Automatron quest.

i also made a purified water empire and imagine that i made purified water cheaper definitely trust me

What did I learn from this run? The House always wins in any Fallout game. I’m definitely gonna try this in FO3 possibly or even 76.

Pro Tip: Never pick up SPECIAL bobbleheads until you got 10 of that stat. That way, you can reach the maximum of 11 (or 13, in the case of Perception).
Other bobbleheads are safe to pick up though, at any time (iirc).

Rename Fallout4Prefs.ini to Fallout4Prefs.ini.bak
Launch the game and let it autodetect your video settings (don't worry about trying to change anything here)
The game should create a new Fallout4Prefs.ini
Quit the game
Edit Fallout4Prefs.ini with Notepad or another text editor
Find the following settings:
bBorderless=0
bFull Screen=0
iSize H=1080
iSize W=1920
Change them to:
bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1080
iSize W=2560
Save the file
Right click on the file and select Properties
Check the Read only box and click Apply
Launch the game and see if this works for you. Hope this helps!

I actually have that for my railroad character.

Painted it railroad paint and maxed out everything on it. Named it “The Drop.”

I also have a VATS enhanced Gauss rifle. 25% ap reduction in vats.

I named it “The Big Kill” because of how much kills I can get with it in just one vats execution. And I also call it that because I can take out big tough enemies without a fuss. You basically won the game with it, and ammo is never a problem for me because of how good it is!

In FO4 you don't have a stash box. You can create an Armor Mannequin object at an owned settlement and put any carryable object in those with total safety. For example, your fusion cores.
For most purposes any workbench is almost as safe. Exceptions: edible / drinkable items, weapons with matching ammo, maybe fusion cores if Power Armor is near.

Non-settlement workbenches are totally safe apart from weapons with matching ammo, and even then only during a fight.

(Also if the NPC is already carrying the matching ammo, they may take a matching weapon during a fight).

There are a few more renegades and deserters you can find but mostly they are corpses.

Once you get involved though the game will spawn infinite no-name Minutemen. Just shoot that flare gun.

Well you need them (one) in inventory to do that first quest with Ronnie where you do a test fire.

After that, more artillery grenades respawn regularly in the Castle armory.

I have been playing fallout 4 and i know that the whole 16 times the detail all new lighting, rendering and landscape technology thing is a joke nowadays but i can really tell the difference and its a bit off putting for someone who comes from fallout 76, it feels like i have all my settings in low, even if they are actually in ultra, i wonder if there are any mods to add that bit of spunk to add fallout 76 detail on it

I think Bethesda completely nerfed the Power Armor in Fallout 4

I think Fallout 4 set the bar much higher for PA than in previous games, 76 then amplified this again. Before Fallout 4, you could easily live without PA, Fallout 4's radiation system railroaded you towards PA

Put the base HP of the armor parts to at least 500. I had some T-51c that I got from a shop (don't quite remember where or when) and it was in full health. After 1 fight with a couple raiders, all limbs were broken.

Maybe through sneak and savescumming or perhaps with aggressive pre-sniping, but Libertalia without significant prep work is deadly as there is no clear cover because the incoming fire isn't from a single direction.

The CPG still has it's story known, we come across several destroyed post-war command structures in DC that were build and lost to history long before we entered the wasteland, a dozen CPG-like organizations could have come and gone in the time before we entered the wasteland

There was a organized post-war science operation studying ghouls, death claws, mutated vegetation, and the only scientists we find alive are in Rivet City and are afraid to leave the city.

if I remember correctly she didn't even want to talk things out at first she was quick to try and slice you up in to pieces , it wasn't until she had no robots to throw at you that she even considered listening.

Well that’s because she saw you as the perpetrator. She saw you as the enemy, not herself or her robots. She wasn’t aware of the fact her robots were killing people. She thought that the robots dying was your fault, therefore, she wanted to try and take you down seeing you as an enemy.

And when you prove u aren’t gonna kill her and just wanna talk, she backs down. And then that’s where u start convincing her of the errors made.

You are right that aggressive pre-sniping is sometimes necessary, and Libertalia is a good example. However it is possible to do Libertalia in Survival without PA and without much pre-sniping (you don't have that many targets anyway). You just need to make us of local cover on each boat and move carefully, methodically.
Because of the FO4 armour curve and because there is no DR, PA is not the clear cut advantage it is in earlier Fallouts.

Sounds like you are tanking. In FO4 you can't tank (not with armour anyway, you can with chems). You still need to be actively trying to avoid getting hit and let the PA soak only what you can't avoid.
In other words you have to adapt your behaviour to the conditions of the game (exponential armour curve and no DR). You can't just continue with FO3/NV tactics and complain when they don't work. 😁

If you are high enough level to max your SPECIALS you are taking too long to finish the game or playing on too easy a difficulty. Or both. 😁

DC by contrast was a swamp with no protection for its waters

Big pumps pulling purified water from deep wells is logical

Hand Pumps less likely but possible they would just take longer to operate

The concept of the Lone Survivor drilling a 200 foot deep bore hole is kind of a suspension of disbelief but it could be done
