Suggestions for future game updates???
[Suggestion]
Creations or player made mods for the remaster. We have the technology now, let us console players get a taste of modded Oblivion!
please please please let us accept window prompts using E instead of spacebar or enter š„ŗ
Eventual mod support please. š
Please let us can use user translation patch in consoles let us do your job by ourselves š
keyboard and mouse support on console
Allow toggling the local map without having to zoom in all the way. Also, indoors/cities the map should default to local map; outdoors default to overland map.
Sprinting power attack please - let us charge into battle! āļø
An updated Construction Set for Oblivion Remastered would go a long way towards allowing the community to engage fully with the game
If possible, Iād like unique quest rewards to autolevel with the player, and not have them stuck at the level you originally obtained them in. So you are not encouraged to avoid quest gameplay and wait till a higher level to get the best version of the item.
I'd like auto move and sprint to play nice together.
Climbing hills, make the player go up it faster. It is so slow.
Hi! Could you please look into the issue I came across. I downloaded and started playing the game on my Series X via Gamepass. Then I also downloaded the game on my PC also via Gamepass and continued playing my saved game through Play Anywhere. I have RTX 4060 on my laptop so I set the resolution to 1080p. Then when I switched back to my Series X on 4K monitor and continued playing the same save the resolution in game was like 1080p and all blurry. I tried switching between Performance and Quality modes in the settings but the image stays blurry. It seems that PC resolution settings somehow override the console resolution. Is there any fix for that?
Re-Work or Expand on the Difficulty Settings.
Adept is a literal joke where you will never die unless you intentionally try and the disparity between it and expert is far too extreme. Two shotting an enemy and having it take 34 hits between ONE difficulty level is quite frankly insane.
Please stop enemies from following you all the way across the map, I am speedy on horseback and donāt have time to deal with the 3 wolves that will follow me for 25 miles
Couple of small things: starlight doesnāt work unless you first enter 3rd person, and it would be nice to have the map default to local view when in an interior. Oh, and Iād love to be able to disable the location names above the compass
Please do something about the UE5 Traversal Micro stutters. it's smooth in doors but outside it has the same problem games like Stalker 2 had.
PC - Gamepass. well above the recommended specs
Patch the difficulty, it's either WAY too easy, or WAY too difficult. It's the difference between winning a 3 v 1 in an oblivion gate without even losing a quarter of health to dying to a runt without even damaging them to half. It's BUSTED.
Iād love to see the combat system be less spongy. A more standardized health equation would be great. āBase Healthā is a dated design and while Oblivion Remastered is supposed to keep the feel of Oblivion, the current combat system is just as bad as the original.
Iāve written up health formulas before so as long as itās something we can mod, itās not the end of the world. I would enjoy if it was not bad in vanilla, though
Un-fix the funny glitches from the original game. I miss filling the Temple of the One with vampire dust while hopping around on paintbrushes.
Also can we get rid of our username permanently in the top right? Itās immersion breaking.
Remember this is for suggestions/feedback only
I would enjoy better sub-sections for the inventory. I dislike trying to find my stack of potions hidden amongst all of my alchemical ingredients.
My current work-around is just to rename my custom potion with "1-" prefixed so they'll show up at the top of the list, but this still remains an annoyance for potions you find in the world.
Is this anything they could actually add?
Barber / character editor after sewers
Suggestion: In a future update, could we get a body weight/muscle slider like we have in Starfield? It would be great to have more customization options and to see different body types.
I would love for more quests/expansions to be added.
Idk if it would work, but a height slider would be neat to add in. Not sure if it's in any of the other games though, but it wouldn't be a bad thing to test.
[Suggestion] Health regeneration NEEDS to be removed by the way
Please remember if you want to reply to a suggestion, go to https://discord.com/channels/784542837596225567/784548437403107388 ,unless youāre adding to the suggestion. Thank you!
Probably potential Creation material if it ever comes about, but maybe add in werewolves and the ability to be cursed in a similar way to vampirism.
[Suggestion]
Add mod support for the game, there are many folks out there saying they will not buy the game if it's not added, PC should have mod support at the very least as tradition for all bathesda games,
Think about what modding has done for all of your games, and how well they kept them both rich with optimization/QoL/content, and made all of your games withstand the test of time thanks to the PC side of things, think about how much modding/mod support has contributed strongly positive overall to the sales copies both physically and digitally, it's a mistake not to add mod support and your economic folk will feel it.
If you're worried about bugs and issues being reported that may be caused by installed mods, then just do what the project zomboid team does, and tell folks to make sure it's a bug that can be reproduced in unmodded vanilla before making the bug report.
Otherwise, if there's no real worries that can't be addressed and solved in some way, then there should be no real problem with adding mod support to an offline singleplayer game.
(This suggestion comes after Bathesda announced that they won't be adding Mod Support for Oblivion Remaster, which is a very acursed decision to make, especially when by now they should know by now the community would hate such a thing, even more especially if they actually communicated with the community about mod support.)
Also potential DLC material in the ability to use spears, quarterstaves and halberds as per Morrowind
To get the french language
I wish you could open the menu and be able to default to compare containers side by side (without having to hit all the buttons), like the modded versions do on the older games . If it's there I haven't figured it out yet
I love the remaster. It feels like a geniune labor of love. However, here are some changes I would like to see.
-
guild storage chests
-
auto-level quest rewards
-
fine-tune difficulty options as right now there are effectively two: cakewalk and punishing tedium. I think the old slider system was better for Oblivion.
-
tweak the aggro radius/tether so you can actually ride your horse from Cheydinhal to Anvil without creating a relentless conga line of bandits and wolves to kill when you arrive at your destination.
-
escort quests are fairly disheartening because you just know they're gonna die. Can't they take a knee like they do in Skyrim? Or can you implement the option to tell them to stay out of combat?
Thank you!
Suggestion - make this chat a forum so that ideas can be posted once, upvoted/downvoted, and discussed in comments
I noticed that some NPCs hair were not in sync with their heads so it was moving separately from it. Also I found a door in the Underpall Cave that literally takes you outside of the map. Not sure if it was just unfinished or what. Maybe a thorough sweep to make sure the game isnāt missing areas.
[Bug Report] Sometimes weapons do not show in the inventory render of the player.
[Suggestion] Iād love to be able to see my body when I look down, like in the Enhanced 1st Person mods.
good job on the remaster so far! I'm loving it overall. ā¤ļø
Some suggestions and things that need to be improved imo:
-Fixing performance issues. There is some stuttering, specially in external areas. Pretty noticeable with a 4090 + i9 14990K + 32GB Ram (so not a bad PC).
-Options to tweak the HUD. The compass is too big, same as icons for the equipped weapon and spells. Same for crosshair.
It would be great to be able to tweak opacity as well.
-Photo mode. Although it could be "solved" by adding the options described in the previous point related to HUD.
-UI should be redesigned a bit to add some accessibility features like for example to check your current inventory weight when picking up objects from a container like a body or crate. I usually tend to grab almost everything, then realize I am full of space and needing to return to the inventory manually back again. Same to equip a weapon. I need to pick it up, add it to my inventory, return to my inventory and equip it.
Navigation is not the most intuitive thing, either. It was way better in Skyrim imho. More user experience improvements are needed overall.
-I've found many issues regarding AI being blocked or not moving properly. Even stuck in many different places in just few hours of gameplay. Navigation should be definitely improved.
-Death bodies should have hit reactions like in previous games.
-Official mod support would be amazing, and a terrible move to not be present since all Bethesda games have integrated it, and it is what brought Bethesda games to be what they are today.
--Option to customize individual difficulty settings. Currently, I'm playing the game in the second most difficult level, and even a single rat is a challenge. It would be great to have a survival mode or something similar like in Skyrim where you need to sleep, eat, and both you and the enemies receive way more damage.
Suggestion: https://youtu.be/5GZmae8kuu8?si=D4sag7vMOjwgx6EH No disrespect to the new voice acting in Oblivion. I respect that adding more voice acting would add more diversity to Oblivion remaster, and I understand that it is to make Aldos sound realistically very drunk, but I absolutely do not like this new change. The original Cliff Racer song was so iconic, and to take away that type of iconic charm is just not for me. I would at least like to have the option of switching Aldos' new Cliff Racer Song to the original song that was voiced by Craig Sechler. Just the original cliff racer song voiced by Craig. You can keep the rest of the new voice actor's lines in related dialogue or quests. You don't have to remove the new cliff racer song, just at least a tiny toggle option to switch from new Aldo's cliff racer song to original.

Please keep this channel to suggestions only
Vaulting over obstacles like in Starfield
I'd also like an inventory column for value to weight ratio.
Would like to see a green up arrow and red down arrow when looking at new equipment vs currently equipped
[Suggestion]
Option to disable the player character grunts and combat screams
I'd like a way to toggle the HUD off for screenshots.
I'd also like for the dialogue camera transition to start from my present position rather than jerking to some other position first.
[Suggestion]
In addition to Eve's suggestion above, a gameplay option to fade out the hud during exploration (trigger back up when in combat or with weapons out)
I have 3 suggestions and they seem quite good in my mind anyway.
-
UI rearrangement option in a toggle-able menu that switches the arrangement of the new UI to the original oblivion arrangement, hopefully on the bottom left (lower than the original because it got in the way a little)
-
The ability to turn ray tracing and other high performance options off as I have seen people struggle with this.
-
I donāt know if this is even possible and it may not be due to the amount of changes that the game went through, but when the rumours and leaks came out about the game they were saying that it would have unreal engine 5 put on-top of the original engine and game, and I was thinking that maybe we could have a button or toggle-able that switches it back to the original look and gameplay for good comparison and similar to Halo the master chief collection with Halo CE and Halo 2, where they have a similar option.
Thanks for your consideration, I appreciate everything you do and I love all your games.
We can turn raytracing off in options.
[Suggestion]
Enable Per-Device Graphic Settings
[Overview]
When using the PC Game Pass version of the game, if you hop between devices you have to change the graphic settings each time you play on "the other" device.
[Example]
- On PC Game Pass, play Oblivion Remaster on a PC
- Save and exit the game
- Now hop over to something like a ROG Ally X and play the game there
Result: the ROG Ally X will use the graphic settings from your PC session. If you change the settings here on the ROG Ally X session, the next time you fire up the game on your PC you'll be using the graphic settings from the ROG Ally X
[Notes]
This might also happen on the Steam version, but I haven't checked yet.
[Suggestion]
Add radiant quests
[Overview]
One of the things I miss, that I really didn't expect to is Radiant Quests. There's something to be said about roleplaying just a simple sellsword so you're doing the most basic/menial tasks for people. It was this extra level of immersion that I think really made the world feel more alive and made you feel less like super great hero...
[Suggestion] German voice language
[Bug Report] I play a high elf and can't go through small passages don't know if it's because of the race, because of this i can't Finish The Cheydinhal Mages Guild Quest
[Suggestion] Brazillian Portuguese voice localization
[Suggestion]
German audio language
A disc edition (would be more important to me as a collector than the audio language) š š
I would also pay more money for a disc edition. I won't be buying the digital version.
gotta fix difficulty fr fr fr fr
Suggestion - Don't know if it's a bug or a design decision, but either way please let us remove the beard from the female Khajit. If not, then atleast allow us to change the color of it so it fits in better on some colors where it stands out weirdly.
I just dloaded a difficulty rebalancing mod and its so much more fun now!
Huge fan of the sprinting, but I would also love a sprinting power attack for melee weapons
I donāt necessarily need more damage I just want the flow to feel better
[Suggestion]
Patch
Make the Imperial Watch armour playable. It's a bit odd that it's an armour you can't even loot when it's just in the Imperial City.
DLC (Don't know what I can ask but I'll stick to an armour one)
Legion armour similar to TES3/5 but try to make a difference between TES4s possible IC guard armour and the armour used by the Soldiers out in the Provinces or protecting the Heartland of the Empire.
The perfect time for a DLC to cover events before the novels. The rise of Mede.
ummm i want to make a suggestion but i would like to know what kinda of support will be given post launch
[Suggestion] More armor variants, particularly for lower end armors like steel and leather. Between Skyrim, Blades, and Online, there's a massive pool of armor designs to draw from.
like will there be dlc like shivering isles or knights of the nine
One important thing they would need to work on is giving the Remaster a quick patch. Now I don't know if whether or not PC players are experiencing this, but am I the only one who have garnered some graphical glitches? From your weapon being invisible in your inventory menu, your shield still equipped while drawing a bow, magical effects still lingering on you a half hour in after being struck by a lightning bolt or turned invisible?
So far I find it that you need to unequip and reequip your armor should that happen to you, with doing a quicksave and load if the fx is on your character's skin so hopefully that helps someone having this issue.
Believe thatās part of the base game with the remaster
[Suggestion]
If there's a way to add new settlements the Heartlands and Nibenay Valley need a focus in farming (game lore of being the breadbasket) and the other regions could use a focus like maybe the Gold Coast has a thing for Gold mines or something, the Great Forest could be logging and etc. Skyrim added stuff where we could have an idea what Holds produced what which adds to the game world.
Suggestion: A potential small mini DLC of Kvatch being restored. I know there was cut content of that and the cut option of becoming Count of Kvatch. I know as much as some players would like to feel like becoming Count of Kvatch, I understand why you guys chose to cut the part of being Count of Kvatch, because the player is supposed to be an adventurer. Besides, we eventually became ||Sheogorath of the Shivering Isles at the end of the Shivering Isles DLC||, we don't need to become something beneath what we become in the DLC. But I do would like to have the option of at least restoring Kvatch to its former glory and have a story of who should be count of Kvatch (not the player).
I'd like the bookshelves in our houses to be functional so we can easily display a collection of books.
[Suggestion] Mod support! Not only has pretty much every every other Bethesda game been modded to oblivion (hehe), in a good way ofc but thatās what has helped a portion of the community flourish so much and as console player playing sense the 360 days and now having a very big Skyrim mods list, Iāve been waiting for another Elder Scrolls game for years, Me and my friends were so psyched to hear that oblivion was getting remastered but we were really disappointed to hear that no mod support was coming, it could really help with both bugs and considering this IS an RPG, help players truly play how they want to play. Please Bethesda, love your work btw the game is amazing so far :)
Suggestion: To fill in some gaps about the lore, you should add some locations that are from ESO but not present in Oblivion, with at least some ruins of those locations and forts long forgotten from the Second Era, nothing quest related or anything, just for environmental story telling to fill in the gaps and keep the lore a bit more consistent. Those locations from ESO could mostly be abandoned and in ruins with some environmental signs and history texts about it.
[Suggestion]
When using the analog stick on controller for walking, there's no gradual increase or 'ramp up' from standing still to walking to jogging, meaning your character abruptly transitions from one movement state to another. This makes casually walking around and exploring fairly difficult because you're either walking very slow or your jogging too fast to look around. Having the option for a more gradual movement speed would be very appreciated!
I'd like to be able to hold down a key to highlight nearby loot or even interactable objects.
Suggestion: Playable Imperial Watch and Palace armor. Im sure this has been suggested 1000 times.
Can Fishing be added?
Four features I'd love to see:
Visible shortcut weapons (like the visible favourited gear mod from Skyrim)
Cloaks as a new cosmetic category
Backpacks as a new cosmetic category that increase carry weight
More armor variants like the alternative armors mod from creation club
[Feedback] (at it says feedback in the channel description)
It's a bit odd that the Arcane University building turrets are now all over the IC over the more Roman (Byzantine) domes.

The "Empty" indicator when pointing to a corresponding container is helpful, but I'd also like one to indicate that I already "Searched" the container and chose to leave an item on it.
Yea basically just have to take everything.
Suggestion Please remove the Item-lvling. It's annoying that you have to avoid certain quests until you lvled to 30+ to get the special items full potential. (Blade of woe as an example)
Removing this and from the beginning offering the item in its full glory would make the rewards more pleasing and would allow you to natural take on quests without FOMO.
I meant new dlc
Ahh okay
Adding first person horse riding. It was in the original so I was surprised that it wasn't in the remaster.
Survival mode in Oblivion, where we need to sleep & eat, plus a cooking station that we acquire and operate as a hammer or a mortar and pestle
PLEASE add a āclassic lightingā option, or at least change the colour of the grass in all the forests to make them more green! The more summertime fairytale look of the original worked so much better, and Iām sure the community would celebrate hard if yous guys did this! Look at when Rockstar did it for GTA Definitive Edition!!
Additionally, for some odd reason Skingrad's Guards have pink armor and it's really off with all the red within the walls. Like, the banners are red, even the shields are red. Why is the armor pink? Did they cut the finance, so there was not enough dye to paint the cloth or something?
I don't know how often the developers check here (or if they even plan to keep updating it), but I have a few minor nitpicks with the gameplay that I would appreciate being changed.
1st - I haven't reached a high enough Block skill to use it yet, but was the Shield Bash made manual or is it still automatic? Because if not, that'd be a nice change.
2nd - Speaking of Blocking, if you are able to Block in the air, I feel like you should also be able to Dodge in the air. It's not really necessary, but it'd be cool.
3rd - I know Acrobatics allows you to ascend steep slopes, but it would be nice if the Expert Acrobatics perk (50% less fatigue cost from Jumping) was replaced by one to bring back Daggerfall climbing on flat walls. I feel it would go a long way in making Rogues more Rogueish, kind of like Assassin's Creed.
Edit: Also, Dual Wielding. But I'm pretty sure everyone knows that.
Hello, just one simple thing Iād like to change - can we add a few more NPCs to the roads. Generic NPCs just to fill the space. Look, I get it. IV is 20 years old, but I really do miss the alive feeling. Games have moved on and Iām sure mods will fix this, but if yāall could do it officially that would be amazing!
100% bro Iām surprised nobody else has mentioned this itās the biggest complaint Iāve seen about the game
add green colours to the map specifically chorrol and around the imperial city. thx
Add radiant bounties, levitation magic like in morrowind and restore cut content that didn't make it.
Difficulty slider 1-10 or something
Mnk support Xbox and ps5
Add a couple companions via of DLC. and mod support.
needs random animal/monster entities on walk paths like skyrim. Just a suggestion.
An option to remove hitmarkers, the white outlines around loot and the black boxes around text would look 10x better and much less cartoony. It would suit your more realistic graphic style better and would be more faithful to the old Elder Scrolls games
[Suggestion] more npc
Can a marriage system and children be added like in skyrim.
Please remove item/enemy scaling, or add a toggle option for it.
Please enable mod support.
-Thank you. This remaster is utterly amazing, and beautiful, good job team!!
Could add a system like Skyrim that lets u know when u have cleared an area as old folk like me forget š¤£
Please anchor ruins that are present in eso and perhaps direct references to lore from eso. It could be in the form of books.
Not sure if this has really been talked about, but movement and animations could use some work in terms of smoothness.
The biggest one for me is wanting a "jogging" speed, somewhere between walk and run. I feel like I'm never happy with how fast my character is, it's either too slow or too fast. It goes from 0 - 100 so fast. And playing on a controller, my character is constantly jittering between animations
Hi devs just want to say i love the game so far but i Would love more customisation like hair and mabye body slides the ability to have tattoos and mabye have the colors like skin and hair have a rgb slider thing basically i want almost unlimited customization to make the character how I like it, i Iove spending hours crafting my character to look exactly how I want its one of the main reasons i heavy mod skyrim and fallout 4 also some diffrent animations like if your character is running up a steap hill they look like they are putting the effort in or maby if your character is injured they walk with a limp also more quests and mabye some that pop up like say this one guy needs you to get an item or kill some one and mabye
Hey all š small thing, as a Hand to Hand player, I feel like the sound it makes on strike is kinda weird. Kinda reminds me of sticks hitting each other? It doesn't sound meaty enough, like I'm bludgeoning someone's face in.
Restore the model and texture of Shadowrend as it was in oblivion (two handed Dragonsword of Lainlyn model with inky smooth black texture as if it was absorbing light, could even put little stars in it) as currently one of the most unique weapons from oblivion just looks like a generic daedric claymore with a black texture put on it instead of the daedric claymore's black and red texture.
Also about the Dragonsword of Lainlyn the devs cooked! It is in my opinion the best remastered sword in the game!
Thank you for the remaster! I have some couple of suggestions I'd love to see, such as:
- I'd like the character creator / race menu to be expanded in the future. Maybe more haircuts and beards for the different races, horns if possible for Bosmers (like in ESO), the possibility to edit the brows depth in elves, some longer haircuts for males, different body sizes and heights, the possibility to edit the claws and tails in Argonians and Khajits, more fur options, heterochromia, vitiligo, etc.
- Related to the prior point, something I'm missing from Skyrim is tattoos/facepaints. It would be dope if it could be added as well.
- I'd like to access a barber in the open world. Perhaps and if it's not too complicated, a mini game and some additional options that come with it.
- Transfiguration could be great as well! Maybe (maayyyybe) the possibility of changing the dye of the armor.
- I don't know if someone has talked about it, but I'd like the possibility to dodge.
- It would be great as well the possibility to call your horse and level him/her up... Maybe some combat actions as well.
- It may be a bit complicated, but is it possible to add more people to the cities?
Until a new bug reporting channel is created for the remaster, just wanted to post somewhere that might get seen by the devs.
I successfully pickpocketed a potion from Baurus when leaving the jail cell in the tutorial, and he turned hostile anyway and killed me when I met up with the emperor in the Imperial Subterrane.
Let's keep this channel to suggestions and feedback only please
Give The Adoring Fan yellow hair again š
While the new Oblivion Gates are very pretty, I feel they are missing the original "raging inferno" aesthetic that they had in 2006. When originally they looked as if swirling, burning energy surrounded the edges of the portal and bright, yellow lightning emanated from the sides, they now seem more similar to a tinted window with flames blowing at its edges. It lacks the original destructive energy that embodied the Deadlands and Dagon himself, and I hope they can be changed to better reflect their original vision again!
DLC idea: monster of colovia. It takes place after the events of oblivion and it focuses on the aftermath and itās about you being summoned by count hasildor because a servant of molag bal snuck in during the oblivion crisis for the monster of colovia which is revealed to be the only vampire lord to exist in cyrodil
I'd like to add:
Is there a chance to allow us to hide parts of the armor such as the helmet, gloves, boots...?
Make Sheogorathās hair white again š¤
Make the world level like Skyrim does: Individual locations have a level range that the location locks to when first entering it, and that determines the scaling of the enemies and loot. Remove most NPCs having stats that are multiplied based off the player's levels. Add trains.
Mods
[Suggestion] Allowing sprint/crouch to be either toggle or hold would be nice, instead of being a forced toggle.
Add a pets or proper followers DLC lol
Let me use the Battlehorn Men At Arms to store stuff, or atleast be able to say nevermind instead of dimissing them or making them wait
Make unique items level with us!
4 cores CPU support please. At least so that it can load saves better. Because otherwise the game runs fine. It's only saves loading that maxes out CPU usage.
The remaster bugs out when trying to deposit items in a chest in your owned house. Iām trying to hoard the knights of the nine armor pieces but half the time the deposit menu does not appear and acts like I only want to loot.
Only through spamming various buttons does it come up, and itās not always the same buttons
So i'm back to playing the original Oblivion (not the Remaster), and looking for some mod recommendations.
I used to play it with FCOM Convergence, but am wondering if there's any huge overhauls like that which are newer/better. Any good mods that revamp the Skill/Perk system? How about a good UI mod?
Please add better Sort Options for The Inventory and maybe Bring Back The categories Like The old ones
Fix the player race height. Seems wood elves and high elf player models are the same height (could just be a bug)
Also would be neat to be able to attack whilst on horseback
Creation Kit/Official mod support would go a long way! Aside from that, photo mode.
If i remember correctly, the "Deadly Reflexes" mod for the original Oblivion allowed for mounted combat. Skyrim didn't officially get mounted combat until a few patches in
Make Oblivion green again
Would be good to have collision with bodies again. I miss smacking them after winning haha
add collision to the arena lantern when ur leaving a fight. i used to love jumping into it after a fight it was like ringing a victory bell.
First person horse riding would also be neat addition
Can the game be less brown? Real life is much greener and more vivid than the remaster. Cyrodiil is supposed to be a lush fantasy world and it honestly looks parched in the remaster
1: Option to disable combat music
2: Option for shield on back when weapons are sheathed
3: Option to disable compass
4: Option to disable the forced dialogue camera (like in Starfield)
5: Console mod support!
(edited to keep all my suggestions in one place)
- Invert Y-axis needed. Maybe of us older folk learned to play like that and not having this option forced me to refund on Steam.
Please give us the choice to turn off health regeneration.
Patch fixing general performance
There is a typo in the description of the Mainland origin for Dunmer/Dark Elves:
"As a Dunmer on the mainland you grew amongst all kind of traders, you learned all there was to know about negotiations and how to can make people react the way you need them to."
1.Body Sliders
2.height sliders (my alter shouldnāt be the smallest one alive)
3.Dual wielding (even just for dagger)
4. The Akaviri Dai Katana being unique again and being as fast as a one handed sword
Patch the fps drops and fix the quest breaking/general bugs please
- Please fix the performance.
- Make a creation kit for it, or maybe add support for the original.
- Please fix the performance.
- Add an official way to show the race menu or at least add a barber. I regret adding a beard, I wanna look like Todd
- Please fix the performance.
- A proper VR Mode! After Skyrim VR, many fans expect to experience Cyrodiil in a proper way, not with UEVR.
- Creation kit.
- Survival mode!!
- FIX NPC ANIMATIONS, the graphics are stunning but animations look so dated. Please fix the performance.
- And last, I can speak too much here because I need to see more but from what I've seen.. it would be very cool to see different HEIGHT AND WEIGHTS for the npcs. High elves being the tallest, wood elves being smaller...
Specifically #5, thats the only reason im not playing a high elf rn
Suggestion: Add/change idle animations and/or AI for overworld wildlife and other enemies.
I always find it quite odd to see a single wolf standing on one of the roads seemingly waiting for the player. This figurative wolf can be changed out for some other enemy and it quickly makes the game feel like this enemy spawned solely for the player to interact with it. Additionally, seeing a bear standing and staring into the endless void or pacing back and forth eternally is also jarring.
The age of the game is not lost on me, but this change would make the world feel more like a world. Even making this bear forage on a bush nearby endlessly would be better than it is now.
Another suggestion would be to add more radiant AI features as CPUs have come a long way since 2006.
Performance and a āshow/hide helmetā option please š¤ thank you for remastering my favorite gameš¤
- Probably the biggest thing for me, performance it's really frustrating having everything load infront of you whenever you load into an area
- I know the inventory has a section where you can organize the items in order but it resets everytime you back out, I'd love for it to save whatever toggle you have imputed
please make melee combat more interesting. different swings per weapon, maybe add special weapon skills to them
I know this is very unlikely, but if y'all could add a way to recreate your character mid playthrough that'd be great. Something akin to the Face Sculpter from Skyrim.
Also would be great to get a slider for difficulty or alternatively an option between adept and expert. Feels like a big jump between too easy and hard.
Lighting can be very buggy, torch in first person would be nice if it was off to the left a bit more.
Official mod support like fallout 4 and Skyrim se have, not just creation club mods also modding tools to make mods easier to make for creators aka a Creation kit equivalent
Can we get vr mode including psvr2?
Old-school color filter option
Mod support on console would be nice
I think the game is phenomenal so far but Iād really like to see a few patches to fix the stuttering, also the starlight spell doesnāt work unless you go to third person
You have to fiddle to open the local map every time you need it, and you need it CONSTANTLY in a cave or dungeon.
Your previous local map / overworld position needs to be remembered when you click your map hotkey.
XBOX SERIES X
Reduce the popup delay and forced movement stop when hotkeying (LB) -- move the target selection to the joystick that doesn't move the character so the player can freely move and use their hotkeys (usually RS) easily.
Optimize the game to reduce menu stutters and lags.
Allow the future change of the UI to the original
Allow the title screen to be changed an overview across the map like the original.
Patch FPS drops as soon as possible
I think one suggestion i'd like to make for oblivion, and I doubt you guys want to do any Content updates, but I always felt like Kavatch should have been rebuilt at some point. i know that the limitations of the xbox 360 stopped you from putting to much into the game, but I trutely thinkt hat if you had the ability to mess around and add any additional content, the Rebuilding of Kavatch as a questline could be incredibly cool, especially since you are the Hero of Kavatch after all
Gameplay options suggestion
First of all, an EAT BUTTON like in Starfield. So we can consume items laying around in real time instead of having to use them in the inventory after picking them up.
Like Starfield's approach and survival mode suggestions, add a gameplay option that enables food and drink needs that give positive or negative stats depending on how you manage them. All optional of course.
A mode that's only positives, a mode with positives and negatives for ignoring the needs. And XP boost or negative XP depending on the survival gameplay options
Cloud save with Steam Deck fix please!
Miri is writing the Elder Scrolls lol
Look up the word optional.
An option to disable the forced dialogue camera (like in Starfield)
I agree. And needs like sleeping, and put more clothes when snow (bruma etc)
- The NPC AI is going through... Something. Needs a fix. Enemy NPCs sometimes freeze with their back towards you/don't react to you attacking other NPC right in front of them. Pathfinding seems to be bugged at times as well.
- NPCs in cities seem more stationary than the OG game. Sometimes it feels like they all "spawn" near the gate you enter through.
- Spelling mistakes in the character creator and the Akatosh armor questline (deluxe). š«£
- Invisible weapon bug in the inventory. My character (armed with a claymore) is holding nothing - resulting in a very... compromising pose. Happens constantly.
- Castle Kvatch mission is buggy. Same issues as the 2006 version (Savlian gets stuck etc)
- First person mode on horseback is very, very missed.
- The way the inventory was sorted in the OG game was much better. Books should not be crammed together with torches and keys. Same for ingredients, food and alchemy instruments.
- Continuation of the previous topic - the new alchemy/repair etc menus are more confusing than their predecessors.
- A way to delete/disable old spells so they don't oversaturate the inventory would be nice. And/or a more detailed spell sorting system.
- Difficulty settings: please rebalance. Adept is too easy yet the jump to Expert and Master is waay too much. 14 arrows to k!ll a deer is not it.
- NPCs slouch strangely while walking. Old animation was, in my humble opinion, better. The sprinting animation could use some work as well (the arms especially).
- Jumped onto the table and the clutter didn't move...? Where did the physics go? The Arena lamp doesn't sway either, so that's weird.
- Performance. Performance. Performance. Did I say Performance?
- There's a bug when the Gates spawn before the player gets to Kvatch.
- Height among the races is somewhat inconsistent. The player character seems to be the same height no matter whom you pick. That's strange.
Elder Scrolls in VR is one of the greatest gaming experiences imaginable. Please please add VR support to this game!
Give us a way to have more than one summon at a time, at most 3?
A Face sculpter similar to the one in skyrim would be nice. I'd love to change how my character looks without starting over
I really want a way to remove the beard/mane from Khajiit. In the art book it looks really nice, what they did, but in-game it often looks wrong. In every other game, my female khajiit can have plain fur on her face. Being forced to have the beard/mane just doesn't look right when it doesn't even match my character's fur color. Bare minimum, we need to be able to change hair color independent of fur color.
I'd like it if the name tag for horses was disabled once you start riding them. Currently it shows up whenever your cursor is near the horse, so you can't pan across much of the field of view without it flickering on and off, and it's quite large and distracting.
On my knees begging them to add a barber. It cannot be that hard to implement
I think the HUD and UI could use a bit more work to be more like the original game
Also another suggestion are HUD options. With clairvoyance Iād rather turn the HUD off, explore, and use that if Iām lost. Like Kingdom Come hardcore mode
I'd also like to be able to have settings toggles to disable HUD elements like the enemy health bars, the compass, and the highlight glow that shows up around objects you have the cursor over.
Id love to see a possible slider in the menu to slow down the base character movement speed as per default for me anyways it can be a bit disorienting with how fast the player character moves
Unique models for named and special enchanted items
Let us be able to see our carry weight in the loot menu, accidentally over-encumbered myself a few times because I didn't know how much I was carrying at the time
I would like to preface by sayin the remake has exceeded all expectations, and is an overall improvement over the original, however my love for this game makes me wish to see improvements to both increase its longevity and its reach to more audiences.
-
More in depth character customization, including skin textures and height. As it is, androgynous male characters are impossible to make, which is frustrating considering the artwork of these characters are on the androgynous side, and you're simply unable to recreate them, meanwhile in the original this was possible with all races.
-
Invisible weapon glitch in the inventory screen, seems to happen when entering or exiting locations post-tutoral.
-
On the hardest difficulty, enemies tend to be spongey. Take inspiration from Ghost of Tsushima's 'Lethal' difficulty, where the npcs have massively increased dmg, but that also goes for the player, leading to more decisive and fair gameplay. This could be a new difficulty on its own (outside of any potential 'survival' modes)
-
Photo Mode. This speaks for itself. The massively improved character models and world design could be even MORE appreciated with a function that will allow us to show these off in the best possible way.
-
Third and first person animations can seem a little wonky. Nothing major needed here, but some minor tweaking can go a long way. This also goes for npcs.
-
60fps even being possible is a massive plus, but it could be refined to remain near there more consistently.
-
A way to manually sort our inventories would be SO helpful!
-
I personally feel the hud is a bit too in the way, some way to make it smaller and more translucent would be quite nice.
-
Some way to reallocate stats and redesign our characters would be a world of difference. QOL is great, but it can be much better.
Horseback combat like Skyrim would also be a great addition, because it gets tedious hopping on and off your horse every time a wolf blocks the road.
Make it so we can still move while the hotkey wheel is up. It can be rough in combat trying to run away but you need to spam some potions or spells
Hello, like others have said I would love love love if Health Regen could be disabled. It really limits the use of restoration, alchemy, and alteration. I think a lot of the āadept is too easyā concerns would be fixed if health regen only existed on low difficulties.
I also personally prefer the older hotkey controller scheme where it was all selected using the D-pad. Maybe this could be an option in the settings.
Not sure if its been said, but have a quicksave keybind, or default tab when you pause so quicksaves are quicker. Also if you could allow mapping of extra buttons for ps5 edge and xbox elite controllers that would be great
also fishing, game looks too good not to be able to fish. And disable cursor completely from menu would be nice
VR mode, please. Skyrim had a VR version and I think every TES release now should have a proper VR mode. Or version, at worst.
The difficulty hike from between adept and expert has to be fixed, the jump between the two is staggering and it feels like there is a missing option between them!
I'd like to be able to eat food off a table without having to pick it up and open my inventory, like you could in Starfield
also when looting its not very obvious especially for new players that you can send loot back to body/container, maybe start loot screen with both inventories open
Wishful thinking this early but I would love a hardcore mode with sleep and hunger mechanics. Give me a reason to book an inn (besides leveling up) and buy food
Suggestion - Make the Pestel tool and Repair hammers, anything that is a usable tool appear at the top on the inventory list. its a serious chord on xbox controllor to have to scroll down all the time to get access to it. holy hell my poor thumb....
Separate the pause menu and the inventory. Right now the menu is way too long and is annoying to go to 'settings' from 'character', it would be great to have a dedicated pause menu that has; save; load; quicksave; quickload; settings; help; quit to main menu. Currently the menu is just far too long.
Fix the camera glitch that makes it seem that you're 8 feet tall
Bring back sub categories in the inventory
Difficulty rebalanced Adept is way too easy but Expert Difficulty makes everything spongey and not fun to play
- Give modders support to make mods 2) from someone on reddit "Let us delete spells we no longer want or give us a favorite list", my only 2 suggestions so far
Photo mode 100%, this game is too beautiful to not have one.
Mod support and release a construction kit. Then you wouldn't need this chat.
Allow us to accept prompts by pressing E.
-Physics with npcs needs to be updated with combat feels āfloatyā and not making real contact. You literally canāt make contact with bodies. The hit boxes donāt feel right. The hit reaction and hit marker just give an illusion of hitting but doesnāt feel like it. Donāt know if the 1st person animation combos contribute to this factor. Clipping with swings is noticeably impacting the combat feel with weapons clipping through static
Archery: bring the shot cancel feature from skyrim. In og oblivion you could simply aim at the ground and quickly grab your arrow. With the new engine there's a delay after firing before you can pick it up again
Edit: saw someone respond that you can cancel a shot by pressing the favorites button. Certainly a workaround for now (i find myself constantly putting my weapon away when i just want to cancel!)
Modding tools and console mods is a must.
Please keep this channel to suggestions and feedback only.
Bug:
- Encountered a bug just now during Go Fish wherein game music stopped, then quests could not be activated or changed. Resolved by restarting the game.
Suggestion:
- Allow users to disable the map marker names in HUD compass. It ruins location discovery.
- Adept is too easy
- Jumping moves the character too far forward, like in undeserved acrobatics boost.
- Please, remove black boxes (or make them transperent) for the names when you hover mouse over someone. It's looks bad, takes alot of place.
- When you damage someone their hp doesn't go away from the bar instantly - please, make animation of it faster or remove animation at all.
- Sprint kinda weird, but i suppose we can get used to it (change it or not decide to you)
- Separate menu and inventory
- As already been told here many times - difficulty between adept and expert would be greatly appreciated
- Adjust collision of enemy body - alot of times in the fight their props just enter you and confuses the player.
- Probably unrealistic - but i liked UI style of OG Oblivion more. "Simplifying" is not always good, but it's just my thoughts.
- If it's possible - give us ability to turn off RT/Nanite completely.
- Adjust speed of the character on uphills (too slow right now)
- Inertia after sprint and jump is little bit too much, i would make it smaller
- MUSTHAVE RN: Optimization.
- Communication between players and devs would be appreciated as well as patch notes
- Make aiming cursor on bows transperent
Please fix Oblivion gates appearing before you destroy the kvatch one
With peace and love, performance NEEDS fo be fixed. Idk about the other consoles, but on PS5 the game is a stuttering mess in the open world. Even while playing at 30fps the game is still stuttering every few seconds. Thatās really my only big gripe lol, excellent work on the remaster overall
I would really like to see the original version of the female Huntsman Vest return - it's an important part of my characters outfit!
Could we get the option to turn off a few ui options? The white outline around intractable objects, the currently equipped item and spell icons, the distance under the compass, and the black box around names.
Also, can we get the option to bind the start button on controller to the system menu? Itās strange to press start and it go to inventory or some other menu
Rework enemy level scaling and item scaling to be similar to Skyrim. If that canāt be done a toggle to remove the level up icon
the option to change the dodge button would be great. right now it's locked to right click + Space for some odd reason. making it unnatural to use
Survival mode would be awesome
Add a player body to first person view - somethings like the Joy of Perspective mod off nexus.
I would love a survival mode too, but only if they added a transport network of boats and carriages like Skyrim so you didn't need to fast travel
Buildings sometimes have a slight purple tint to them, I think it's a texture glitch? Would like that fixed.
Iād love a basic survival mode. Lower max health when you havenāt ate in a while, lower stamina if you havenāt slept. Helps me feel more immersed in the world
As someone who as been in the Elder Scrolls community since Morrowind, I would really love to see mod support and a creation kit come to the remaster. I recently decided to go back to college for computer engineering half because of my love for the systems that make games possible. Being able to be a part of a new modding community while building my skills and learning more about game development would be beyond amazing.
-Difficulty adept too easy and expert too hard
-Not enough glow and light with destruction and restoration spells. Very lackluster.
-Dungeons too dark to find loot (even with loot being highlighted) and the very detailed ground textures make it even harder to see the items
-color temperature too brown/red/orange instead of green/blue/purple. Suggest color tweaking settings for users
-UI using a lot of black and white ESO/Skyrim aesthetic and not enough gold like original. Option to change ui like you can in fallout 4
-vignette effect in dialog too strong
-Black box behind names unneeded and clunky
-dialogue name moved to same position as original oblivion
-remap navigating menu (original oblivion used bumpers instead of triggers. Remaster is inverted)
-Highlighted item optional
-Hit marker optional
-option to skip logos in intro
-Npc lip sync off. A lot of them only moving top lip
-character creation lightning makes character look different than how your character looks in menu. Slighty off of what I originally created
-some wooden farm gates play metal gate noises. New model replaced metal with wood
-No door shut audio when coming inside cell
-Heath regen overpowered. Option to disable
-Sprint speed and animation combination looks goofy as it currently is
-character creation head clipping for beards
-move with hot bar open
-ability to delete crafted spells
-too many menus. Original had two sets of menus. One for in game (magic, items, character, map) and other settings (menu, key binds, sounds, etc)
-quick loot like fallout 4, starfield (there is a mod on nexus that does this for original oblivion already)
Needs a fo4 style quickloot
Hello. I would have personally loved to have seen cut content and elements from Elderscrolls Online and Skyrim Anniversary added. Such as, well, Sutch, Mir Corrup, Ayleid Wrights, Leyawiin with Bridgea and Docks and more quests that were cut due to dev time.
Would like to add to this: allow us to toggle the short animation when picking something up. (Go grab a mushroom and watch the little pop animation it makes) it's cute, but distracting
I just want to buy and play the game. Please give us an update on the Korea region lock situation.
Playing on ps5, would love to be able to hide the whole HUD; no compass, active spell, and no health/etc bars even when taking damage. Like kingdom come's hardcore mode
Never thought Iād agree with every single point
PCVR mode
I'd like to have a few more Racial Origins be added to the character creator, in particular Reachman for Bretons, Skaal for nords, and ashlanders for Dunmer. I'd also like to be able to give characters tattoos/warpaint and scars in the character creator.
Add the ability to zoom in character creation
I havenāt maxed out a skill yet - so I donāt know if this feature already exists. Mea culpa if it does, but Iād love to see a mechanic like the legendary skills from Skyrim - allowing skills to be reset to zero to keep on leveling.
Add barbershops and fishing
Suggestion - Writing in about the "Pestle again, it needs a button to clear all selected ingredients for a potions, as of right now to clear and start again you have to exit out of the Alchemy creation to clear your selection the scroll all the way down the list to find the pestle again. on controller. My thumbs will thank you!
Absolutely phenomenol remaster. You've once again set the standards for the industry moving forward. That said, I have a few things to note:
- Allow me to disable the compass entirely. You've added Clairvoyance. I don't need the compass to know where I'm going. Let me get fully immersed in the world and be directed by an in world guidance system.
- Please bring back inventory sub-categories. As an Xbox player, the pain of scrolling through my alchemy or misc section to find repair hammers or crafting equipment is already having a toll
- Please consider official mod support for Xbox and PC. I understand the engine is different, and not as modular as before, however I'm already seeing mods which I'd like to implement. Not everyone wants the same experience, and to even be able to tweak small things would be amazing.
- If you were considering doing additional content or allowing Virtuos to do so, you absolutely have two thumbs up to do so from this long time fan (Playing TES since 2007). Consider areas of the game which the fanbase expanded on through mods, such as Kvatch rebuilt, or perhaps add the long speculated arenas to other cities outside the Imperial City? I'd personally be willing to pay for this as DLC if done well and reasonably priced.
To finish off, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Oblivion is a game which inspired so much love and appreciation from me in my formative years. To be able to experience it again at a modern standard is just breathtaking. This time around, it really does just work.
Can we also add in Weight sliders like in Skyrim?
honestly, if you continued doing additional content it would be cool. more oblivion content in 2025 sounds awesome
Iām taller in 1st person than I am in 3rd. As a result it lets me wall glitch through or grab a lever I shouldnāt be able to lol
All I want is enemy level scaling to be looked at so there's more variety. And can we have level scaled items level up with our character instead of staying the same level forever?
guild followers for thieves guild and fighters guild, like how mages and dark brotherhood have
Yes! Please make it so leveled unique items aren't useless later in the game - example: obtaining Chillrend early renders it useless by the time you are level 25+.
First of all, amazing work on this remaster. Only suggestions is updated difficulty sliders. Adept is super easy, but Expert is wayyy too hard. Something in the middle would be perfect
Bring back the (or a) dupe glitch! Console player here missing my constantly charged Apotheosis to play on the highest difficulty
I would recommend going to Nexus mods and checking their for what people are doing... There's already been mods optimizing the performance as well..
I think it would be really cool to have a multiplayer aspect. Queue up for random procedurally generated dungeons, while keeping the world single player. I know itās a pipe dream, but I think it would be so much fun.
Bethesda, werewolves in the Oblivion remaster would be a headline, not just a feature. It's the missing piece fans have wanted for yearsāraw, relentless, and ridiculously fun. Youāve done vampires, now itās time to let the beast off the leash. Bring the bite to Cyrodiil and make this remaster howl-worthy. šŗ
Loving the remaster, I have a few suggestions:
-
The ability to customize our character's appearance later in-game (e.g hair, beard changed after the fact)
-
Ability to customize our houses further than purchasing prefab items
-
Ability to give followers items/equipment to hold and/or equip, similar to Fallout 4 and Skyrim
-
Mannequins for displaying armour, very similar to Skyrim's
The remaster's been a good time overall, but one of my biggest complaints (outside of UE5's performance problems) is the color/lighting. The visual fidelity is amazing, but the visual palette style is completely lost. The original game did have a lot of bloom, but it also had a very bright and idyllic atmosphere. Almost painting-like in a way, and what tied this all together was the bright colors. This is mostly lost in the remaster's more ESO-esque artstyle, which looks more realistic but also way more washed out and bland. For example, the West Weald is one of my favorite regions in the original, with colorful trees and vibrant flowers even im the base grass texture. Reds, blues, purples and greens, all in one lush and beautiful mix. In the remaster the area's been stripped of most of it and feels much more drab, like a lot of ESO's Cyrodill areas. When I was walking through the Great Forest on my way to Weynon Priory, it was cloidy, grey, and rainy, which only made the colors even more muted. It made me very sad, but for the wrong reasons. Meanwhile, in OG Oblivion, cloudy skies and thunderstorms just made the colors pop even more like in real life - it reminded me of summer and brings happy feelings.
Romance/marryable NPCs as well as adoption. Like Hearthfire from Skyrim. Argonian spouses please
I would really like the option to toggle off automatic health regeneration.
Fix the player character heights, Nords, High Elves etc are all the same height as Imperals etc..
Playing as a mage is rough when using a controller. The shortcut wheel prevents player movement, which is not great when swapping spells in combat. Iād suggest that the shortcut wheel just pauses the game, similar to the favorites menu in Skyrim.
If i recall correctly sneaking in OG Oblivion didn't break whenever you jumped but in the Remaster if you jump it stops you sneaking. Could that be reverted back so you can jump and sneak at the same time again?
In the original, on console you used to be able to hotkey items/weapons to the D-Pad... I really miss that! The radial is super risky to use in combat
Absolutely loving loving loving the remaster!!!! Ya'll did such a good job. 2 things.
- Difficult needs to be adjusted. Give us the slider or update the adept/expert difficulties.
- Sometimes my healing spell just doesn't do anything. It's intermittent but it happens often enough that I am confident it occasionally does NOT heal me even though it consumes magicka.
This game has been absolutely amazing. The leveling fix was huge. The only thing I'm wishing for is that unique weapons and armor leveling automatically scale with player level. Nothing makes me sadder than my favorite unique weapon being useless in the late game. I know it has already been said but I can't say it enough that this would be the biggest game changing update.
Unreal engines collision with npcs feels off during combat. Like it doesnāt feel impactful. Needs to be slightly tweaked. Also no collision with bodies. No collision with a lot of items.
The remaster is everything I ever wanted and more. The only thing I can complain about is the performance (stutters and lag spikes) and the constant crashing. I'm getting the "GPU Crash dump Triggered OblivionRemastered_Win64_Shipping" crash on PC.Also I don't know if this is intentional, but I did the Garridan's tear quest but I didn't take frost damage.
Options to tweak the HUD the scaling is far too big all the elements are too much!
Dog follower
Fix the compass going crazy when riding horses, it keeps jittering when moving
Please only display the names of places on compass AFTER you discovered them! This ruins exploration so much
Thank you so much for this remaster. Itās incredible. I have one major issue, that others have also mentioned, and that is the colour + density of the forests/vegetation.
The prime example being the great forest, the area surrounding Chorrol and Hackdirt. In the original game, Hackdirt really felt like it was in the middle of deep woods. It had large trees all around, long grass and ferns surrounding. In this remaster the vegetation is much less dense (and less green), the trees are less bushy and feel smaller/fewer.
Those dense woods were my favourite parts of the map and the lush greenery was so important to the atmosphere. Is there any way that can be improved?
Would it be possible to increase the tree size/bushyness in the great forest region (around Chorrol to Hackdirt and beyond, down to the shrine of Molag Bal) and add those green ferns that were present in the original game? Just some things to make the forests feel more dense, green and deep, to recapture that atmosphere of The Great Forest. Thank you
add first person horses please!
A toggleable lock-on function would be nice, but not necessary!
First, I canāt get over how amazing this remaster looks. I never expected it to look this good. I am constantly closely inspecting things because it just looks so good.
As for things Iād like to see, photo mode, a proper cancel shot button when holding an arrow, and if possible I think it could stand to see its NPC population increased in certain areas. They donāt even have to be approachable NPCs. They can just be generic ācitizensā or something. Just for the sake of immersion.
Please look into save system across platforms. Lots of people having issues with saves being deleted with hours of gameplay being lost.
Option to disable automatic healing outside of combat. It invalidates restoration skill, alchemy and blood wells. Let us original fans play like we used to
Does everyone else's merchants all have unlimited gold for us to sell them everything we have?
Multiplayer Oblivion
We really need a difficulty slider with two slides, one lets you increase/decrease incoming damage globally and the other lets you increase/decrease your damage globally.
Sounds psycho to say but I don't like how bodies have no attack collision. Can no longer comically punch bodies in the face!
-
Increase the population in cities and towns even if they are just generic citizens. It feels odd the population of gigantic cities like the imperial cities to be soo lowly populated
-
RNG environmental events when your out exploring
-
Maybe add marriage, more housing and other features seen in games like Skyrim
Difficulty balancing between Adept & Expert. Ability to use D-pad for hotkeys on console.
The remaster has been great, but it is very studdery when in the open world. in instances like the capital and buildings itās fine, thanks guys.
PLEASE better ai pathing / behaviour I found this annoying 20 years ago and i still find it annoying in the remastered. Fighting amongst friendly npcs is really difficult. You spend more time worrying about keeping the npcs alive than you do fighting, its really easy to accidentally hit them yourself and their combat stances are eratic, instead of being precise and calculated within combat they just keep moving into and around the opponent and wildly slashing making it hard for you to get involved in the moment.
Also, horse combat would be nice to introduce, again another thing I felt was silly 20 years ago, to have horse armour and to not be able to attack from horseback... constantly having to dismount your horse every minute because of a bandit gets old really fast
I'd also love to see some more bigger scale battles like in the fighters stronghold have regular attacks on the castle which you have to defend and perhaps expansion to the castle to make it bigger and thus also making the attacks more cmplex and bigger, this could have a lot of opportunity to turn into an end game activity
I know modding is not officially supported at this time, but it would be really incredible to have official modding tools for Oblivion Remastered. The UE5 layer adds a level of difficulty, but if Hogwarts Legacy (also in UE5) can do it, Bethesda certainly can!
Echoing the adept/expert difficulty tuning, not a fan of choosing between somewhat too easy and way too difficult. Otherwise having a great time coming back to this game
It's already been brought up that the old school color pallete should be returned. But I haven't seen any mention of the bloom effect that gave oblivion its specific dreamy look, I would love to see that as an option as well.
š«š· FRENCH and š©šŖ GERMAN voices please !!!!!
They where in the original Oblivion !!
The issues I have are mainly UI based:
- The body text font, such as is used in the subtitles, looks too modern and out of place when compared with header text. A serif font would work better for the visuals of the game. As it is now, the UI appears unfinished.
- I echo other users' concerns about the black background box that appears when targeting NPCs or objects ā this also looks clunky and does not match the aesthetic of the menu itself.
UX concerns:
- If the J key is not bound to any other function, I would prefer that it open the journal ā I am aware this was not the case in the original Oblivion, but since the remaster has made several moves towards modernisation, I think this would be a good step in that direction too.
- I also agree with another user who pointed out that it's pretty clunky that there isn't a button to toggle Local Map. The current method of zooming in all the way to view the Local Map is uncomfortable to use.
Character creation:
- Echoing what other users have said, I would love to see height and weight sliders. These don't have to be anything too drastic but could be something like the ones in ESO, where the height for e.g. Dunmer scales within set parameters for Dunmer height.
- It's a bit strange that there isn't an eye tilt slider.
- Face paints or war paints would be a nice touch.
EDIT: I also would like an option to disable automatic health and magicka regen.
Thanks for setting up the channel!
Don't know if anyone has experienced this but some enemies don't look at you, as in their head, face the direction of their body rather than at you. It's especially noticeable when fighting downhill, it will look like the enemy is looking at your feet rather than up at you.
Iām on console, scrolling up and down menu is tedious. Is there a way to speed this up? That would be nice
An optional survival mode would make a more immersed experience, and flush out the economy more.
I noticed that when bringing up the hotkey wheel, no other inputs get registered.
It would be nice to be able to still move while using the hotkey wheel.
Also, it would be nice to be able to tab through multiple wheels, especially for mages and alchemists, 8 slots for everything in the game feels really bad.
Other than that, literally no complaints ā¤ļø
The ability to turn off the compass and its markers would be very nice. I'd like to have to figure out my direction in some other way than constantly being shown on my HUD
This remaster is begging for a photo mode.
Hi, first of all, thank you šš» so much, you all nailed it! I have just a few suggestions.
- Official VR support w/ motion controls would be massive for the VR community.
- First person horseback riding
Its jarring to have only my sword and quiver be in my characterās shadow instead of my hole character. I dont register it as the character
Loving the remaster so far and it's clear a ton of love was poured into it. I am going to jump on the difficulty bandwagon because while having presets are nice (and I think we all know they need work right now) it would be awesome if we could also just create our own custom difficulties, being forced to choose one of the presets is not great.
I'd love to be able to use the direction pad on controller for the hotkey wheel rather than having to pause the game. Other than that, so far the game feels good.
Make dungeon clearing work similarly to Skyrim / FO3 by disabling loot and enemy respawn. Add a marker indication of whether the dungeon was cleared. Itās very unfun to go through a dungeon just to find out your efforts meant nothing and that can be repeated ad infinitum.
Move some DLC start even further. Having access to Frostcrag Spire (and to a lesser extent other housing options) from the beginning of the game is boring, it is too OP and sucks the fun out of all the other playing housing options. Please make it unlock after certain player progress so that there is use for getting other non DLC houses and purchasing a house feeling rewarding instead of getting a worse version of something you had for free from the beginning of the game. In original game you could at least delay enabling the plugin, canāt do it here.
Similarly, move the start of KotN campaign later so that the player has a chance to speak with Anvil chapel inhabitants. In remastered, as they are dead from the beginning of the game, all the dialogue is always inaccessible
Fix glitch abuse that breaks the progression. Most notably, cap chameleon to make 100% abuse no longer possible. It sucks the fun out of the game to perform this. Many things like shield effect are already capped, CAP THIS TOO and give use for invisibility spells! Can set 95% as max value so that all stealth bonus is preserved if someone goes for it but NPCs no longer ignore you attacking them. Just preserve the element of playing tactically.
Other similar abuses (100% reflect, 100% absorb, weakness boosting other weakness spells) should be patched as well. Please make the gameplay balanced.
Please improve STEAM DECK performance!!!
Quest markers to point to where enemies are when it gets down to just a couple of them - i feel like it would really make parts like kvatch less tedious. also more options for makeup and possibly tattoos. more character creation options in general
Please add the options to remove health regeneration and to use the original fatigue system. Health regeneration makes potions and restoration almost pointless outside of combat. The new fatigue system where it regenerates fast and no longer affects your stagger/damage makes stamina management and fatigue potions/spells pointless.
Many players enjoy the immersion of fighters getting worn out and needing to use restoratives to keep their stamina up, and having to heal/rest after fights. It was a major pillar of Oblivionās combat flow, and itās been completely removed in this remaster.
Please add subtitles for ambient dialogue (i.e. dialogue between NPCs or to the player outside of direct conversations).
Fix stuttering (especially in open world)
As of right now there is a bug where some Oblivion gates are appearing randomly before doing the story/gate at Kvatch. (Someone had posted on reddit that the Oblivion Gate outside of Vilverin was there when they had just left the Sewers for the first time.
I think this Bug should be made into a feature. Make the Non-Story Oblivion Gates appear randomly After Kvatch no matter the story progression beyond that point as the amount of Gates active on the map were tied to how far you were in the Story. Also give the chance for Gates that have been closed to respawn over time to allow players to get their hands on more Sigil Stones and more Loot.
Here is a list of features or fixes I think worth implement, mainly UI
- A Fallout 4 like loot menu
- More categories in inventory, like books keys scrolls foods etc. More columns or a pop up/hover card for additional info like armor body part, light/heavy etc. Just like SkyUI
- Show both inventory and container by default when opening up a container
- Use E to transfer item rather than Enter.
- Local map needs a more stand out toggle button or hotkey
- A standalone alchemy/repair tab
- Donāt pop up horse name when riding it.
- Reduce the black background of the name of the target
The big 3 for me are
- restoring the hotkey wheel from the original game (so I don't have to hold lb to access it)
- For the inventory to be revised (for example, I don't want to scroll through all my ingredients and potions to find "Master Mortal and Pestle". In the original, alchemy tools were always above ingredients, which made it way easier to access. I also don't think keeping books, keys, soul gems, and junk in one spot together is a good idea because it is unbelievably messy. Imagine scrolling for 2 minutes to find a repair hammer late game).
- To be able to haggle while selling things instead of just buying.
I'm sure this has been said before but I'd love to see mods and creations come to the Oblivion remaster.
There's also a bug where some characters just become bald for some reason. It's funny to see but makes you raise an eyebrow
Can we get 1st Person Horse please š itās a sin that itās not included š¢
Idk if it would be a ton of work, but it would be so cool to have some regional variation in the aesthetics of dungeons. Like something that indicates "you're in a cave in the mountains/by a lake/near Cheydinhal" instead of just "you're in another cave that looks the same"
respec potion or something yeah
Honestly? More. I'd love to see a revisit to cut content, doesn't have to be huge but if you're already adding more let's get quests.
an ability to toggle the colours of the UI would be awesome so we can make it more like the original oblivion
Hi! Just wanted to say thanks for the remaster itās been immaculate so far. Would love to see the following. Modern lock picking as a toggle option, hardcore survival mode (eating, drinking, sleeping, damage tweaks to be akin to fallout 4ās mode), fishing (?), maybe a āgreenerā filter to appease some people (personally I love the vanilla look), actual animations for eating or drinking (potions too) and maybe a tweak to the 3rd person sprint animation. Thanks so much for this remaster itās been awesome!!!
Needs to be massively more populated. There are mods that did it to the old game, added kids, more diverse fauna, more busy towns etc. This needs to be by default.
Loving the remaster so far, this is such a small thing, but the lanterns in the arena hallway no longer swing, I used to jump into them after every arena match.
remove level scaling for quest reword item.
and Please make it so that subtitles appear even when you start listening to NPC gossip midway through. It's inconvenient for non-English players that subtitles don't show up in such cases.
Love the remaster. I know it comes down to licensing with UE5, but any official mod support would be amazing. Everyone wants it.
More towns in general would be appreciated. A criticism of Oblivion back in 2006 was that Cyrodiil was very barren of civilization outside of cities. More farms and ranches will make the world more believable
Please bring back the original security skill perks
The new one isnt helpfull and doesn't feel rewarding for upgrading the skill.
In the original version, leveling the security skill made easier to lockpicking all kinds of locks. With the new system being and apprentice or journeyman in security doesn't bring anything for most of the Locks.
I have loved every moment of the remaster so far! Looking forward to putting thousands more hours into Oblivion, a second time!
A few suggestions:
while i appreciate the slightly muted appearance without going full sepia, I would love a filters option in the settings, similar to what a few other games offer. Could just be a few common ones, like "original" as it is now, saturated to give it a significantly brighter look like the original, black and white, whatever.
Additionally with the above point, photo mode! Or even just the ability to turn the UI on and off. Y'all have done an unbelievable job with this remaster, it is easily one of the most graphically stunning games I have ever experienced, and the ability to capture moments within the game without the UI blocking it would be a welcome addition!
I would love to see the fast travel point for frostcrag moved to either the topmost exterior point, or to immediately outside the front door.
In regards to the DLC player homes, I would also love if you recieved a letter from a courier, maybe after xyz level, to let you know that they exist! That said, finding them purely off of exploration is pretty neat too
My biggest suggestion after getting to nearly level 10 on Expert difficulty is to Reintroduce the Difficulty slider or give a difficulty option in-between Adept and Expert.
I would like to request two alchemy adjustments:
Ability to select whether the resulting potion should be a poison, in case there are overlapping negative effects between the ingredients. Currently having ANY positive effects automatically results in a potion, not allowing you to make poisons effectively. So if e.g. you're mixing two items that have Damage Health and Restore Fatigue, it will ALWAYS be a Restore Fatigue potion with slight Damage Health effect and never a Damage Health poison. The only way to make a poison is ensure no overlapping positive effects.
Self-made potion prices should also go down. In original game it was already a get rich quick scheme, but in remaster there are no failures to get an ingredient and a chance to get an extra potion, which means you get 2x the money from the same time and resource investment.
Console mods
First, thank you all for doing such a wonderful job recreating this game. It is truly a sight to behold. Just 2 things Iād really love to have fixed.
- Stop the guards from teleporting, especially in and out of zones/buildings.
- Allow dual wielding 1-handed weapons.
Both of these things really prevent a proper thief/assassin build
Guidance on the best practices for reporting bugs on this game may be very helpful. I went into Starfield mode and had six reports ready to go but no where to put them on here. Going to check the ticketing system next.
-unreal engine combat collision needs tweaking
-see carry wait in loot menu
Fix/Finish the coding to enable the Goblin Wars. One of the coolest features that was borked in the original should be able to perform great here
Make a custom option for difficulty so we can keep the difficulty options, but have the option to make our own. Would also love to modify damage numbers on both sides, where everyone takes more damage to make both enemies and myself less tanky.
Would love to see a photo mode, and further optimizations to performance. This is a good UE5 entry but I still experience a fair amount of traversal stutter as I run across the environment.
I would love an easier way to get to the local map. Having to zoom in and then zoom in another click every time I open my map is a bit frustrating. Love the game, thanks for the remaster!
I like the visual design changes. I like the lighting, Oblivion was a very dark game in dungeons, it's why there are light and night eye spells.
This is all I need to be satisfied honestly, I would love some of that fo4 survival vibe in the game where combat is lethal for everyone.
Heck a survival mode in general would be pretty nice š
- Please let us ride horses in 1st person.
- itd be cool if u guys kicked up the colour vibrancy a little bit
- Other than that id just really love to see more quests further down the line that had been otherwise cut on the original due to disc space.
I joined up just to say that I really, really would love it if this game were less brown. The visual filter is so disappointing to look at, and everything just blends together outdoors.
Please add back the original cliff racer song. Thatās my best friendās favorite little thing in the original game and they were super disappointed that it was changed to drunken slurring
I too would love to see some options to bring back classic visuals. The original Oblivion had such a unique fantasy look. Options for bloom and color palette would be perfect. There are so many āmodsā already trying to do just this. Having an official option for this for long time fans would make so many people happy
Gonna just add that trying to chat with someone on a horse when youāre on a horse (in 3rd person) on console feels horrible.. gotta get that 1st person horse rolling stat
Hear me out, add the og glitches as a DLC to purchase that's togglable in the menu.
Gold on enemies and more chance to find in chests.
Currently I have not encountered one humanoid with gold. I found 1 piece on a wolf and thatās its.
Edit: also, leveling happens way too fast. Exp gain needs to be tanked heavily.
suggestion: a dedicated keybind for the local map in dungeons. If I'm missing it I'd be curious to know - I hit M then have to scroll in a lot to get to the cavern/dungeon map.
An option to toggle "dark mode" when looking at the player menu screens. Or less bright and in your face. Going through a dark, spooky, atmospheric cave and having to open your blinding menus kinda takes you out of it
I would love to see a Skyrim-style Survival Mode, at least with respect to food and rest. There are already many food items in the game, adding a Hunger rating to these would improve immersion. Warmth is less important as Cyrodiil's climate and terrain are more mild than Skyrim's. Additionally, the return of first-person horseback riding. And a photo mode.
I got an idea to unload for sure perhaps if* vampirism ever gets a placement here to which I'm not gonna say is guaranteed with the given but if I had an idea on how it would work would be sorta like its own perk tree minus the beast form of it so you have to drain blo#d to progress and you develop better spells and maybe make a quest to follow suit with the idea of getting a thrall so you have a choice of a few warriors to pick and give it some more gusto and an experience that doesn't make it an out of the way experience but something that is mostly seem less in gameplay
Hey, I realized after playing a bit longer that the Shield Bash IS manual now, so that's a huge plus and one issue I had gone. However, I still feel like being able to Dodge in the air and replacing the "reduced fatigue cost of Jumping" Acrobatics perk with one that reimplements Daggerfall Climbing would improve the flow of Rogue/Stealth builds. Also, the instant acceleration from walking to running is becoming a much bigger issue due to needing to fight hordes of enemies in the Mythic Dawn Cult dungeon.
I'm having a hard time telling what the level requirements for spells are in the menu. Any help clarifying that would be great. Also, could the aurora borealis be rarer? Feels a bit odd to see it every night (and to see it in the distance from warm climates).
probably already mentioned but go fix all the bugs that were addressed by the unofficial patches https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion_Mod:Unofficial_Oblivion_Patch
The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch and Unofficial Oblivion DLC Patches are major mods by Quarn and Kivan that fix over 1,800 bugs (and 70,000 object placement errors) left over even after the latest official patch is applied. These fixes range in importance from trees that seem to float in the air up to conflicts tha...
Throwing in my two cents
-More/reworked difficulty options. This is the sorest spot for me and what I would like addressed the most. Adept is far too easy, but expert is far too hard. Would love something in between. Would also love for some options similar to starfield, so if I wanted I can set both damage dealt AND received to 200%, as well as change regen options for health, stamina, magicka
-Sprint Animations. Sadly, as is, I find it very distracting. Your character leans forward far too much and swings there arms behind them comically. Looks very unathletic.
-Stability. Getting a fair amount of UE5 related crashes, with no real pattern. This one is obvious, and clearly not intended, but should still be a focus.
- Better UI keyboard controls. Some instances require using the mouse to make a selection (such as selecting a quantity of an item) and it would be much less of a headache to simply press the activate button to continue. Alchemy is also very unintuitive. Maybe an option to remove the ingredients by selecting their pictures would help this
-Ragdoll collision. This is very minor, and maybe I'm just weird, but I miss being able to punch dead goblins and have their heads go crazy
-Better Bow Cancel. Pressing sheathe with an arrow nocked should cancel the draw, and then another press to sheath. Trying to cancel but sheathing instead can be frustrating.
Restore red glow for the Black Door in Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary.
Suggestion: in the settings add a "toggle" option for the notification that pops up whenever you hit with an enchanted weapon with no charge left. Like dude I know it doesn't have a charge, I'm not paying 6k gold to recharge it at level 2 š
Suggestions:
-difficulty: adept kinda easy at the start, expert way too hard. Maybe change that.
-rewards: low motivation to go into a dungeon unless it's for a quest. Best case scenario you find some mobs to kill and maybe a magic item in one of the twenty chests. Most likely scenario you make it to the end to find a dead end with a single solitary chest with 30 gold and a spoon. In Skyrim you're always going to find at least a skill book or a fat chest with a magic item and maybe a shout wall or something meaningful.
Also increase the acrobatics jump height to make it like Morrowind because that's my favorite part
I suggest this channel gets broken up into Threads, so that way people can comment on individual threads and allows searching so there's no double posting. Could also allow "voting"
I don't know if this has been said, but I would love to be able to toggle various elements of the UI for immersion and screenshot purposes, such as compass elements, I absolutely love the new UI, it just would be a cool option
-
Tune difficulties. The difference between "Adept" and "Expert" is too steep. Either tune or add another in-between.
-
Dungeons are too dark at times. Unless it is intended to make us use torches/light sources.
-
Perks of the "Security" skill are very lackluster compared to the original.
-
Scrolling through menus on console feels a bit slow, maybe let us adjust the speed or just increase it a bit.
-
The **Performance **on the PS5 Pro (well, on all consoles) is a big issue, even on performance mode. Definitely needs some patching.
-Thereās currently an issue for players going from PC to Xbox with a cloud save. It saves your PC monitor settings and applies them to your Xbox and youāre unable to change them. Going from my wide monitor PC to my living room tv with my Xbox caused the screen to be squished and everyone looked like pencil heads.
-First person horse riding would be great
-Being able to shoot arrows or swing a weapon on horseback would be great (though I know thatās a Skyrim feature)
-A photo mode would be great (currently on my Xbox controller I canāt really screenshot as it brings up the inventory menu before you can screenshot)
-An option to remove an ingredient when creating potions. Currently I have to exit and go back to my tool everytime.
-Mods would be incredible with this, please add support for it š
A barber or appearance change vendor of some sort would be great. The lighting in the character creator was misleading imo.
Please fix the performance
-Make the Imperial Palace Watch armor playable
-Let us adjust incoming and outgoing damage independently (like starfield)
I love that some things still have the look and feel of the original game, but I really wish the map would snap to the locations or something. I've always found this map kind of annoying on controller.
Also I'd rather just have a toggle to switch to local map instead of the zoom, I had to find a comment on reddit to even know I could do that. And then when i go back into it I have to do it again, it's just extra steps to take when finding my way in a dungeon.
Make the ragdoll effect and blood when you hit a dead enemy. Currently just clips through body
Accessories like backpacks, bandoliers, masks, and cloaks would be a great addition, The new physics would be perfect for such items.
-
Survival Mode & Cooking System - There's food/food ingredients, clothing and armor types, it would absolutely be great to see the addition of a survival mode and a cooking system to go along with it, with hunger/thirst/temperature meters to go along with it. A body part injury system too, potentially, similar to Fallout even. // A cooking system, additionally, would add depth, but in general could be a great system to gain buffs or heals/restores from cooked food.
-
Added Tab for Interior Maps & Load Interior Maps inside an Interior - It's more convenient than having to use the map scroll.
-
Followers (Similar to Skyrim) - Followers with questlines of their own, add commentary/personal thoughts at different parts of major questlines, have radiant dialogue, etc. would be a very welcome addition to Oblivion, and would add more life to it.
-
Reworked Sprint Animation - Current one just looks a little too comical.
-
First/Third Person Animations When Interacting w/ Objects - Opening doors/chests, etc. The reworked animations are so great already, adding these would improve immersion.
-
First Person Horse Riding - Bring it back!!!
-
Post-Sewer Appearance Change - A barber, a face sculptor like in Skyrim, etc. Give us the ability to change our appearance after we exit the sewers!!
-
Adjustable Body/Height Please...
-
Photo Mode - Need I say more???? (Well, to say more, photo mode with the addition of options to change lighting, filters, camera configurations (fov, angle, etc.), poses and so forth)
-
Potentially more DLCs? - Either worked by Virtuos or you guys, I think this is the best opportunity to add more content to the world of Cyrodiil. People would definitely love this!!!
-
Lycanthropy - Having werewolf npcs and being able to get infected with lycanthropy would be an absolute plus.
-
Book/Letters/Scrolls Tab in Inventory - Would really be a QoL addition.
I love this remaster so far, some things id love to see added are:
-
Button to toggle Local Map instead of zooming in
-
Color filter toggle to get the more vibrant green look that the original had
-
Improved unreal engine performance and relieving stuttering, and also potential memory leaks. As of right now I find the recommended hardware to be completely inaccurate
If anyone would like to edit or improve on this/ ask questions enter my dms and I will hear them
Some bugs I've noticed so far,
-Water doesn't seem to be working properly, NPC and creature corpses no longer float to the surface and instead sink, and living NPCs don't seem to be able to navigate water properly. At Fort Nikel for example, you're supposed to walk in on a fight that triggers between bandits and marauders in a room with a pool in the middle, but none of them crossed the water and instead both groups ran back up the stairs on their respective and were stuck in place at grates they can't open.
-The inventory has less mouse over tooltips than the original game, for example mousing over enchanted weapons does not show their charge. Although I've noticed mouseover tooltips in general frequently just don't popup sometimes, so I don't know if thats an intentional change or a bug.
-Some cuirasses disable the Argonian's tail when worn. So far I've seen this happen with the Steel and Dwarven cuirass.
For suggestions,
-Please add an option to delete spells so as to avoid cluttered spell lists filled with the weak freebie spells given by early Mage's Guild quests, old spells you've leveled past, imperfect spells you create through trial and error with the spellmaker, etc
-Please add a 'key' tab to the inventory, or at least group all the keys together at the bottom of the miscellaneous tab so as to avoid clutter.
-Please consider adding more clothing options, particularly for the hands and head (gloves, circlets, non-armor bracers, etc) both for style and so that pure mage characters don't have to sacrifice 100% spell effectiveness just to have a similar amount of enchant slots as other playstyles. Many of the game's hoods only appear in one or two places across the entire game world, and the only non-armor gloves in the entire game are the wrist irons you start with.
survival mode would be lit
Official HDR settings, Official Dolby Atmos and DTS X support. In the map menu, have the ability the use your right thumbatick to move the map around.
The awkardness of original oblivion player scaling still remains: melee builds have direct attributes that directly contribute to damage (Strength and Agility) while mage builds have none. Additionally, the player reaches the max level of their main attributes relatively quickly (~level 10), and from that point forward can't further increase their damage attributes while enemies still scale, just like in Oblivion. A possible solution would be letting the player distribute points past 100, adjusting total attribute points earned to slow down the progression to cap main attributes, and also adjusting level scaling along the way.
Another small request: PLEASE make the interact key (e) act the same as the enter key/replace it for certain menus when using mouse and keyboard, this is already done with controller when using the A button on an xbox controller, for example
Water graphics can be a bit wonky sometimes. Like big jagged shapes reflecting off your weapon with water in the background happens
Please add a feature that allows us to remove spells we no longer need from our spell list
Please address the concerns with the character creator, specifically regarding Khajiit characters- many players have expressed their discontent with the forced facial hair or 'sideburns' on their Khajiit characters, and are unsure if the inability to remove them is a bug or not. The preview images for mane styles suggest that some come without facial hair, but they still remain on the character model. Thanks!
I really want unobtainable items to become obtainable, such as:
Mythic Dawn Armor
Palace Guard Armor
Thadonās Robe
Emperorās Robe
For PC players mods or accessing console commands can fix this easily. Us console players would love these to be added to game. Stinks having such beautifully designed models forever out of reach!
Hi all! Hopefully quick and easy QoL win - Show player inventory summary and encumbrance when looting objects, allow transfer from player inventory to target (object, npc pocket, corpse)
Fix shield/torch bug please! š
One big feature i really would love to have is a Photo mode, it would be really cool for taking screenshots of the game, im thinking something akin to arkham knight, fallout 76 or/and rdr2s photo mode.
4 things that are really bothering me:
-
Only having 2 movement speeds, where walking is too slow and running is too fast.
-
Unable to fine tune difficulty i.e damage taken and damage dealt individually. Jump from Adept to Expert is too steep.
-
Would be nice if either time stopped/slowed when opening the hotkey wheel on controller or at least if you could still move around with the right stick
-
Can't see your carry weight when looting
I would love if, as enemies scale, some bandits and other enemies still had low level armor, just for variety and immersion, so they're not all wearing the highest level equipment
Along with photo mode, the ability to turn on/off various hud features like crosshair, notifications, and the ability to deactivate a quest
Being able to edit appearance mid-game is probably the biggest thing I'd want but I also think it would be really cool to have additional presets in the character creator
Greater/Lesser Powers separated in spell list menus (like original)
Alchemy Equipment in its own submenu in the Alchemy inventory (like original)
Probably mentioned before but an option for stacked interface bars like the original rather than the skyrim style
Additional Character Appearance Menu Changes:
- Nose bridge width slider
- Tattoos/Markings
- Scars and other physical markings
- More freckle pattern options
- Body & Height sliders
- Tattoo/Markings, scars and other physical markings for Body
- More hair/beard/mustache options
- Option to remove the "beards"/lower portion of the mane from Khajiit
And, once again, the option to change our appearance after we exit the sewers. Make it an NPC interaction like Skyrim or a mirror!!!
Probably already mentioned here but:
- Fix the difficulty scaling, adept is too easy but expert is insanely hard
- Allow you to use spells on horseback (looking at you clairvoyance)
- Fix the slaughterfish spawning in the lake Rumore
- Perhaps a wardrobe, barbershop, or mirror to change physical appearance?
Show what attributes do on hover up when leveling up. You can view it inventory but not when you assign points. Feels dumb
Make eyelashes+eyelining less prominent on NPCs, lots of them looking like theyāre wearing mascara or eyeliner.
PS5 Has very very frequent texture pop-in and performance issues while traveling from instance to instance, especially within the imperial city.
Please enhance colors. More green and blue and more bloom effects. The game is high fantasy and should feel like it.
Lake/water textures are actively bugged out, "Christmas light" effect on water and weapon reflection from dozens of meters away.
Make creationd and add more content to the game, make it last longer, and make moding tools, and cut content from the original
- Proper HDR support, please and thank you!
- ability to accept prompts with 'E' or 'Space' like others have mentioned
- better management of local map + ability to zoom it in and out. Currently on PC you have to open up the world map, scroll the scroll wheel like 10 times to get to the local map where it's super zoomed in and then if you leave the window it loses your context and you have to do the same thing again. It would be much better if there was just a single key toggle to go in and out of local/world map + the ability to zoom in/out of local.
- a toggle for whatever mouse smoothing / mouse accel that seems to be going on with the game.
- hud scaling + hud customization options would also be nice
- global inventory search or better inventory filering, having to scroll through 50 things to find the item you need should stay in 2006 š a global search would be awesome
Performance issues are the main problem right now with my current friend group who are all on PC playing.
-
Stuttering in the open world is a big issue. We all have widely different set ups ranging from high end to medium, all see that when inside interiors or low intensity cells, the game runs great. For example: Aeylid ruins and dungeons run great. However the open world transversal is PLAUGED with frame time hitches and stuttering.
-
The age scaler doesnāt seem to go below the age of 40, no matter what itās hard to make a younger looking character.
But all and all, great remake, bad performance for PC.
Biggest issues are performance tweaks being needed and expert difficulty being too hard IMO. Game runs amazing in some zones but god forbid I go west I lose 30 fps
Absolutely NEED a fix to the difficulty, adept is far far too easy and expert is far too hard
Wait did they really not fix the difficulty slider?? Yall gotta get on that! The difficulty-to-level issue is such a big one. and dont even get me started on what levelling mercantile is like.
Probably already mentioned but the player model isn't accurate to the race you pick. Bosmer are too tall and Altmer are too short
thereās a certain issue where npcs in interior cells sound muffled depending on where you stand
Item scaling would be nice too, if possible - instead of having to wait until level 25+ for the best version of leveled items
Bugs: i do also see texture pop-in on xbox series x when loading cells.
Sometimes at night when looking at objects above the player, like trees or statues, there's a weird orange outline around the object.
Rain. Is it normal for it to be rainy weather like 90% of the time?
Another thing, NPC head/eye tracking doesn't have as wide a range as the original game, its particularly noticeable if you talk to an npc who's sitting down. The character's head doesn't turn towards you as much as they used to, and the eyes stay looking forward, nowhere near where you are. How am I supposed to have a proper adventurer/employer relationship with Umbacano if he can't look me in the eyes when I whip out my ayleid statue?
please allow us to make the forests more vibrant and green like the original. also please allow us to ride horse in first person. and photo mode!!!!!!!!
Bring back the duplication glitch!
Please make the button to search a body and to pick it up different or something. At least make it so you have to hold it down longer? I don't know what is wrong but when I try to search a body it doesn't work unless I do it super quickly. My normal click doesn't work right and seems to be picking the body up (but not even in the way you can move it in Skyrim and FO4). On Xbox but I just read a reddit thread where people had this on all platforms including K+M. Happens with other things but more noticeable on corpses to me so far.
The only two things I have a problem with so far:
- All equippable clothing/armor is far, far lighter than it should be. "Burgundy" is soft pink, tan is camel, the Dark Brotherhood armor is soft gray. I think a lot of folks have voiced color-related concerns, and this is my big one.
- Please make killing Agronak in the arena after the Origin of the Gray Prince quest trigger the Dark Brotherhood again.
cinematic kam
UI needs more of that beige/gold colouring and not #ffffff white
I am having same exact issue
i hate health regeneration. please make a toggle
Tbh I think itād be cool to see the Dremora/Dedra as a playable race.
Being able to play an evil race sounds like fun.
Survival Mode, Cooking, and Camping would be awesome additions to the game. Maybe a fishing mechanic like Skyrim's Creation Club version.
1- CRITICAL Fix the Difficulty please in the adept is too easy, in the expert is too hard can you make something in between or fix this please make adept harder or expert easier
2- More NPCs in the cities and more NPCs/Creatures in the world so it feels more alive sometimes the world feels empty
I'd love for there to be some sort of way to mark locations like dungeons we've already visited as either a different color or something!!
Let us romance Martin
Add alternate options for fast travel such as carriage, boat, and maybe even mages guild teleportation.
Also let the adoring fan carry my burdens.
Just wanted to say you all did an incredible jobāI'm having a blast. These points may have been mentioned before, but just in case, here's a quick list:
Running uphill appears buggedāeven on mild slopes, the character moves in slow motion.
First-person horse view would be nice
Missing weapons in the character screen.
Local maps could be more accessible. A toggle to default to local maps when indoors would be a huge help.
Graphics optimization options would be appreciatedāespecially for midrange peasants on 30-series GPUs and below.
Crosshair options, the thing is way to big
I'd like to have the option for immersive first person camera with full body awareness. Toggleable.
Item scaling should be part of the top priorities. Since you can't smith things
Please add an option for analog movement speed like in the original (i.e. you walk as fast as you push the stick). Currently there's only two speeds (walking or running). It gives me motion sickness š
Additional Suggestions:
- Hide Helm
- Accept prompts with "E" as opposed to Space/Enter
- Small inventory window when hovering over dead NPCs to avoid having to open entire menu
- Preview of carry weight limit when looting items from NPCs/containers
- Higher quality world map, it seems a little pixelated when zoomed in.
- Purchaseable house inside of the Imperial City, not just the wooden shack.
- Ability to upgrade weapons/armor so they're on par with our level as we progress.
If weāre really not getting official mod support, then maybe some official features being added based on popular mods like a new character quick start and photo mode would be wonderful.
Please allow the option to disable enemy health bars in combat
I can't seem to be able to feed on the cattle at deepscorn hollow, please fix!!! Love the game <3
Maybe add something like creations if mods will be limited to things like retextures or stat tweaks. Would be nice to see new quests and armor and weapons
A way to edit appearance (maybe limited in some capacity) after leaving the sewers would be lovely.
An indoor map would be nice. Not sure why that got taken out
its there, you just have to scroll in all the way. A hotkey would be better
There is an interior map. Toggle from the full map.
Sell items with E. Confirm sale with E. Craft potions on alchemy screen in with R (currently there's no key at all). Filter ingredients by compatibility. Reintroduce inventory subcategory grouping.
Ain't no way Bethesda are reading all these.
Using the dpad for equipment and spell hotkeys was so much better. The radial wheel is so awkward and doesn't even pause time so I end up going into the main menu. But that does not feel smooth in combat at all. I honestly forget what Oblivion was like, I like the Fallout style of 8 hotkeys but even Skryim with the little list was better than this.
I think Hirrus Clutumnus's voice should revert back to the default voice. You know the guy that wants you to kill him in the Shivering Isles. His original voice was pretty distinct to begin with.
PS5 doesnāt let you remap the touchpad
Original color scheme filter that can be toggled in settings
CRITICAL
Game is VERY EASY(adept) or VERY HARD(expert)
Fix this or make something in between or add a slider for us to modify
Thanks!
fixing the gliding, and locomotion in general feels broken
the camera adaptation feels broken. especially in bruma, colors just feel very off
and outside of fixing i would love to see a fallout 4 style quickloot menu, its basically an essential mod for any bethesda game now and it is disappointing to not see it in a remake of a classic when the original has it
we need better optimisation, steam discussions is full of people even on high end cards that barely get 40 fps outside. no fixes are working to make it better
After playing the game for around 5 hours straight, I could only close the menu from the system section. And trying to interact with my inventory was a no go. That all fixed itself when I reloaded the game tho
Probably will use AI to go through it.
Add an optional "legacy levelling" option when creating a new game to restore the old levelling system where you have to specifically level majors, but also allow players to legendary skills in this mode to bypass the level cap so players don't have to go out of there way to maximize their attribute points.
I just want them to re-add the scroll duping exploit if they arenāt going to support modding let us on console have a little fun itās not like the people who donāt like it have to use it
Optimisation needs to be number 1. Please add inventory sorting back in like the original game. For example potions should be separate to ingredients, as right now they are all mixed together
Beautiful game thus far. Alchemy/potion making is a little jumbled right now though, it could be more streamlined and organized.
There's also an icky yellow glow around my character whenever I wear enchanted equipment.
Starlight doesn't work...I don't think? I didn't see any light when it's supposed to be very bright.
Game interiors are pretty light overall. I haven't found a truly dark interior just yet to warrant Nighteye.
Detect life is somewhat bugged as well, and some dead creatures and people retain the glow despite being very much dead, lol.
Spells should give off light when cast, like fire balls being glowy and giving off a light source when shot. Health spells glowing around you and it casting light on surroundings, etc.
Any way to remove the hud for taking screenshots? Would love a photo mode!
More customization options, body sizes, and ability to magic mirror it even after leaving sewers.
Controversial opinion but personally. Iād remove the ability to fast travel to areas of the map that you havenāt previously visited. Including cities.
Please split alchemy inventory into 3 sections
Aparatuses
Potions
Ingredients
It's so tedious to find what you need every time
Replace the colour presets in CC with a colour wheel so we have more control over what our characters look like
Make Khajiits hair/scruff colour seperate from fur colour
If I have an item equipped in a quick slot such as a torch or a healing potion and it runs out from my inventory, it currently disappears from the quick access wheel slot. When I get more of the same item, I would have to reassign it. It would be better for the item to stay equipped unless I equip something else, so that when I replenish it or get more of it, it should be there without having to re-add it
Shift click to loot all of one stack of items from the loot window. Appreciate the game, having fun.
Add dual wielding, add werewolves to Oblivion Re if possible. Give us a modern creation kit for Oblivion Re
I would like my armor to be able to take more hits without breaking. I know that leveling the skill makes it last longer but starting out and having my armor break every 3-4 fights is pretty crazy
Please just fix the AI standing still with your back turned to you instead of joining combat. Difficulty jumps are too large, gear breaks too easily. That's about it.
[Suggestions]
1: Improved Follower system, they no longer detect you while sneaking, you can trade gear with them & they properly level with you. As of right now this is the only bethesda title where i see followers as a detriment
2: Photomode, self explanitory lol, give us that + poses & its all cool
3: give us quicklooting as seen in fallout 4
4: Perhaps update some perks that lower the weight of some weapons and armor? I find myself only running around with 3 weapons & 1 set of armor lol
5: add in a local map for interiors, especially dungeons
6: and console mods!!! (Maybe convince sony its time to allow external mod assets since modders have found workarounds on skyrim lol)
We need a toggle between local map and the over world map. The zooming all the way in and then once more thing is just awkward.
Alchemy tab in the menu.
The colors. I get it. Every remaster has people say this. But it's always true. The game looks a bit washed out a lot. And the vibrant colors are muted. This applies to environments as well as items. There's clothing colors that are just completely the wrong color.
The burgundy top was the one where I really noticed it first. It's so washed out it's now pinkish.
The game just doesn't look like Oblivion enough.
Inventory information. On Xbox Series X an enchanted weapon doesn't tell you how many charges it has left. Until you tab over and flip through one of three cards.
I hate this. Just show us how many charges it has without the extra step.
The player character model in the inventory screen defaults to unarmed a lot. Like most of the time. It doesn't affect anything. But I kinda wanna see my character holding the weapon they've got equipped.
That's it for now. I'm sure others have said this all before. But I figured I'd add my own words to it.
Absolutely loving it. I haven't played this game in like 15 years. It's been a blast.
Fix some of the many bugs covered by the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. There are too many broken quests and NPCs, and it's honestly jarring.
Also, pls gib performance patch ty ā¤ļø
I genuinely think I might be the only person for this one, but for dead bodies to be hit reactive. I genuinely felt very sad that there were no impact sound effects or jiggly, reactive movement when I was smacking around my first goblin corpse
Improve Soul Gem UI to indicate if it's filled or not without having to open details tab
Same for Enchanted Item Charges
1 : fix the loot/move body problem. When we try to loot (simple press), the body juggles a bit and it takes sometimes 5-6 presses to open the loot on a body or pick up an item. On the opposite, if you wanna move a body, an item without picking it, holding the button doesn't guarantee that you can move it. It kinda "flickers" between "move it" and "release it".
2 : let me hit the bodies on the ground with my weapon. I don't remember if it was the case in the original, but for me it always has been an immersive feature of Elder Scrolls and Fallout games with physics.
A more gradual change between walking and running. Currently a little jarring to move throughout tight dungeons. Yes, I'm aware this was present in the original.
Also, I miss smacking dead bodies around and watching them flip and flop.
The wait button should work faster...It kinda breaks the flow of gameplay having to sit around waiting while hours roll by so slowly
I was kind of hoping for improved magicka scaling on spells but it seems unchanged. Without cheesing it it's really difficult to cast higher level spells because it costs an absurd amount of magicka. On that note Fingers of the Mountain suffers from this issue too, if you don't pick up the spell early it's just so expensive to cast it's unuseable basically
Iām sure itās been said but more hud options, thereās not even scaling for the edge of my tv
Look at enemy level scaling and the gameās difficulty. Adept feels too easy. Expert feels too hard.
Ability to alter character appearance after character creation. The lighting in the sewers was horrendous for it!
Pushing M while in a dungeon and getting the already zoomed in map would be nice!
Performance mode for series s
seems like fatigue no longer influences damage dealt at all? completely removes the concept of enchanting w fortify fatigue to increase physical damage, which is capped at a really low amount. hand to hand combat is borked, removing an enemy's fatigue just staggers them instead of knocking them unconscious
1- More hair is always welcome.
2- Maybe another Dunmer woman capable of sculpt "a new face. A perfect face".
3- A unique armor set for the thieves guild.
There needs to be a difficulty between Adept and Expert. Adept is way too easy but Expert is obnoxious in how little damage you do.
This has probably put in her already but console mods for oblivion would be nice
Be able to use E for most interactions
please allow us to view current carry weight when looting
Hello, I understand it's likely been said but some more proper optimization for someone like me on a lower end pc, I'm working on upgrading my CPU to run better but having it on all low just to hit 60 fps is rather annoying. Though I will say even on low it still looks absolutely amazing š (side note to be more specific, I have good fps in most, if not all cells, except for the main cyrodill open map, that's the only place I get substantial drops in frame rate
- Inventory and UI feedback
- show effects on enchanted items, potions, alchemy ingredients etc without inspecting
- speaking of alchemy, group the tab into the classic sub groups of tools, ingredients, potions. Its a bit clunky to navigate atm
- By azura let us bind the E button to take item in a loot screen/shop. Enter is atrocious
- Gameplay
- Difficulty slider seems too extreme at expert and too easy on adept. I'm managing at level 16 but I feel like I have to use fatigue poison (with the knockout effect) to win fights in melee. Even cheesing up to 85 shield (and 350 health) I get smacked hard
- Visuals
- An adjustment to the lighting engine to have it less sepia/warm/muted tones and more cool and saturated
- Dark brotherhood armor (described blacker than night) is very brown. Please adjust.
All that said, I'm having an amazing time playing (even on expert). Thank you for your hard work on the game!
Please fix skill increases messages not showing when in menus (when you read a skill book, repair gear, craft potions). You hear the skill increase sound but no message. Especially important for skill books
youre lucky to get 60fps on low. im having 50 max with drops to 15-20 and my pc isnt even low end
To bad they said they arenāt going to support mods for console which means this is going to end up as one of those games that dies on console but has a strong community on pc idk how they expect to keep modern people engaged with a game as empty as oblivion without letting us have mods
A question for the remaster; does anyone know if they have reimplemented things back into the game that was supposed to be in originally ie the Bloodworm Helm and the Necromancer's Amulet in the Archmages room after completing the Mages Guild Questline, or the Councilor's Hood that can be bought in Nord Winds of Bruma?
Suggestion: Being able to summon Haskil as a summonable companion in Cyrodiil. Especially after beating the main quest of the Shivering Isles. Should be fun for the new Sheogorath to have adventures with his new sidekick, Haskil to explore Cyrodiil. I don't care if Haskil doesn't like to be in the mortal realm. I like to have a sane sidekick around. Who wouldn't want Haskil to follow you around?
I would love to see my characters body in first person, and to have a survival mode of some kind. I want to truly live in the game.
-performance issues obviously. stunning game but my 4070ti is struggling to run it on even High, with RT and reflections turned down.
** - if one enemy can detect you in a dungeon it seems they ALL can. i walked past a slaughter fish in the valen dreth mission and EVERYTHING could detect me from then on, even the guards further on so i had to restart the dungeon entirely. also happened with Gromm seeing me through the crawlspace somehow lol. donāt get how that worked though cuz no one detected me. this one is really annoying esp for dark brotherhood bonuses where you canāt be detected.
-adept way too easy, expert way too hard (enemies are health sponges)
- every time i get on my horse my character stands up for a second before mounting. no big deal just looks funny
The jump from Adept (easy) to Expert (really hard) is too huge, there needs to be a difficulty in the middle or a slider like in original game, or reduce the difficulty of Expert. There's no inbetween
A tweak to running animations a bit to not be as goofy looking would be nice
Making it so E also is accept instead of having to press enter would be nice
Making it so there's some argonian "hairs" that are both fins and horns, or just giving more options for horns in general
The ability to customize the chin horns of an argonian in some way
A cheetah pattern for Khajiits
- get rid of health regen
- hold torch in off hand
I feel like they would definetly get it going for xbox first but sony is another issue. Sony never agreed with the idea of external asset mods & to this day, offically, psn users are still without external asset mods on skyrim & fallout 4 (unofficially, modders found workarounds to get external assets in skyrim for PS). So whats the point in mods for playstation if its going to be horribly bare bones & mostly cheat mods?
Omg this, if the performance could be patched my life would be complete.
I have 5700X3D with a 9070 XT and my performance is awful, I can't use frame gen as the crosshair ghosting is really bad.
I also get UE5 crashes all the time but I fixed them via verifying game contents via steam and by editing the .exe compatibility to launch as admin and since then I haven't had one.
I'd like them to tweak the sprinting animation if possible, looks really goofy atm. And add a [local map] toggle button AND have it show by default when in an area such as a cave/city/dungeon, ect.
Please make armor tail hole for argonians!!!!! That is all
May it be possible to add a "cleared" indicator on cleared dungeons?
Native FSR 4 support please! It works through adrenaline but is I a bit of a headache
Please add mod support. Mods have always been the DNA of The Elder Scrolls series since Morrowind, and itās the incredible work of modders that has kept players coming back for years.
Fr itās what makes the elder scrolls games so replay able
Idk if it was mentioned already but why does the "true horn" shield use the "knights of the thorn" model? Pls fix
Would love to see a setting and/or change where bandits and other lesser enemies don't get high tier equipment as you level! Its honestly my only gripe with an otherwise amazing remaster! ā¤ļø
I think skyrim did a fantastic job at having a balance between morrowind and oblivions approach to this and thats also great! BGS games are all about immersion and sandboxyness but it gets crushed a lil when bandits have full deadric and glass gear, the thrill of finding these items and feeling like you got special stuff is amazing when its not on generic bandit npcs!
More languages like German, Spanish etc.
Just going to unload my thoughts.
Menus are less intuitive than the original and are even buggy at times
Alchemy has been hit the hardest. Now, after selecting your first ingredient, the game doesn't produce a smaller list of compatible second ingredients. I understand and appreciate the filter options, but still feel like the original did it best.
Subcategories are also absent. For example, alchemy apparatuses no longer appear at the top of the alchemy tab. Everything is grouped together. The same is true of keys in the miscellaneous tab, which gets to be a pain.
Please show the player character's carrying capacity when looting a chest or body. Furthermore, I think the player's inventory should be open by default when looting (R3 on PS5). Can't think of a reason to hide it behind a button click, there's certainly space for it.
Trying to scroll the details of a weapon or armor is really finicky. On PS5, after pressing R3 and going to the skill information, you can't actually scroll the perk descriptions with the right stick. Trying to push it up or down just flips back to the model of the item.
Add a button to the map menu to immediately flip to the local map so you don't have to zoom in.
As for bugs, for a while I couldn't activate a quest from the quest list even though there's a prompt for it. The workaround was to inspect the quest I wanted, then activate it.
Give us Creation Club or Mod support on Console
I would love to have more HUD options! I really like playing Hudless/Minimal HUD and I was surprised to see there were zero hud options
These are probably minor issues/suggestions but please lower fog amount. I hardly ever get to have a good view of the Imperial city, which is just such a bummer. Also, not sure if a bug or intended, but Oblivion gates now spawn before going to Kvatch. Please fix that, it makes the main quest much more urgent and limits roleplay
A way to change birth sign and other specs would be great!
The game glitched and gave me the apprentice birth sign instead of the thief like I chose and double checked before finishing the sewers. I just noticed halfway through the main quest. Others on Reddit are reporting the same issue!
Also a saturation slider would be great, along with creation club and mod support on consoles.
The local map is slow to get to. Menus donāt remember where I left off in them after closing and weapons donāt load in my hands in the inventory viewer!
Menu organization has been reduced which is annoying, less categories and the super slow scroll makes getting to repair hammers a slog.
And on controller I want to just hit right when talking to a merchant to get to the barter option. Now I have to scroll down then hit right.
Pretty easy to summarize most discussed topics with an LLM now days.
Please fix the performance of the game because itās not optimized as it should.
Because cheat mods keep the game fun after youāve done everything and with a game this old everyone already has done everything sure everything looks pretty but I donāt care about that if I have to do all the same quests the exact same way 1 billion times over and now donāt even have duping exploits to mess around with
Not sure if someone has already said this but Iām going to incase it hasnāt been said, but thereās a bug with the interact button, to where sometimes you canāt even talk to npcs, but mostly with objects you have to press it multiple times to pick them up. Also I canāt rebind the select button which by default is the wait action. (Xbox)
Mod support please!
Could Bethesda add first person view back as on option for the horses? I really liked the first person view. Not sure why it was locked out.
I'd love to see more granular difficulty settings similar to Starfield.
An option for the original UI bars for Health/Fatigue/Magicka
Please fix the difficulty. I donāt really want to play until itās fixed. Iām either falling asleep (adapt) or getting overly frustrated (expert)
Fix the collision of npc in combat. The unreal engine collision boxes need to be fixed. Canāt interact with bodies, most objects, and overall combat feels floaty
I'm playing on pc and when i'm aiming with a bow and i wanna cancel the arrow i press "R" but my character hides bow, and it's irritating... can it be like in skyrim, that when my charaxter should only hide an arrow but still have their bow ready to go
I would really appreciate the ability to fully map controls on console.
Please add an OG color filter. It's the main complaint I see besides the performance. All the grass being dead and the sky being gray is depressing.
Hello! Could something be done about removing or hiding the [NL] tag that appears in the name for new items, cells, etc. for user created mods? This can be bypassed if we are only editing existing records but the same cannot be done if we're trying to add new items to the world. Thank You!
I would definitely like better difficulty control for Oblivion Remastered. The standard settings are too easy for adept and too difficult for expert. The jump is too high. Either include smaller increments or two different sliders for damage taken and damage dealt. I know there are already mods for this on PC, but its not possible on consoles. I suggest and ask Bethesda to add this
a proper hdr implementation would be nice
- Add a toggle between the world map and local map
- When interacting with containers:
- Show the player's encumbrance status in the default container inventory menu.
- Maybe just default to the menu brought up by the "search" button, where both the container's inventory and the player's inventory are shown.
- Change copy for the "search" button to... something else, to bring up the menu for adding items to the container from player inventory. "Add items" maybe?
- (Wishful thinking) Add the "cleared" status to a dungeon once the player opens the boss chest of that dungeon, like in Skyrim.
Dear Bethesda,
One suggestion I could give is to add a Photo-Mode to the game. It would be very beneficial for art-enthusiasts such as myself and the community. I feel it would fit this title perfectly so we can admire the beauty of the world you have given us. Thank you for taking the time to read this, if you have, and we as a community truly appreciate this glorious remaster you have given us.
P.S: Please add a creation-club aka mod-support in the future so we can see the amazing talent the modding community can provide for this title.
Fix not being able to quicksave for absolutely no reason. I'm in the middle of the wilderness with nothing around and it still gives me the "You cannot save right now" alert.
Performance fixes first i beg š
On base PS5, make load times longer so that higher quality textures have time to load in. It's very noticeable when you first arrive in an area. Breaks my immersion to see the world morph around me.
1.) Difficulty seems needing to be tuned. Big jump from Adept to Expert
2.) Performance is a bigger issue. Widely variable and has cause a few CTDs for me
A few of my suggestions:
-Seperate the potions in the inventory from the ingredients, its way too clunky having to scroll trough everything when looking for a specific potion or poison
-Would be nice if you could favourite more than just 8 things, maybe add something like a list of items that you can favourite and it shows up as a scrollable menu in the middle of the circle with the hotkeys
-On keyboard it would be nice to be able to hold to walk, right now from what I can tell it's only a thing you can toggle
-When you want to cancel bow draw you have to holster you bow, a way to just cancel the shot while still holding the bow would be great
-When you toggle to 3rd person you have to press the button twice to go back to 1st person which is slightly annoying
-Better descriptions when buying spells to show what they actually do
-Confirm HUD actions with E
-The jump from Adept to Expert is way too big
Pls Mod support
Hello everyone, and greetings to the developers at Bethesda and Virtuos.
As youāre probably well aware, youāve made the dream of many players come true ā and congratulations for that, because your work is of outstanding quality!
However, for many non-English-speaking players, itās still an unfinished dream. I first experienced Oblivion in French, and having to rely on subtitles now truly breaks my immersion.
You were so close to perfection. Please, see it through to the end!
We are thousands asking for the original language options! š
Retail release and official walkthrough with concept art book!
temporary fix but if i want to cancel an arrow shot I hit R for a second. it cancels the arrow by opening the favourites menu for a second.
Mr. Howard, as many others have said: the perfect difficulty is between adept & expert, something we cannot select. Please change that. Thanks!
Photo mode
The game needs an optimization patch, i am running a RTX 3060 and the game is only just playable and routinely dips below a playable fps
Can you guys made a body type? And i don't mean gender... i feel like my character is too wide. I would like to have slim body type, or really big, and something in the middle... just few options
-I really wanna be able see my body in the first person mode. Maybe don't change it for all, but an option to toggle body visibility would be nice
It's already been said here but might as well say it again :
- The difficulty needs to be tuned. Adept is too easy, expert is already too hard. Something is very wrong with the numbers and it has been verified by a lot of players.
- The performances are... Not great. I have a mid-high tier computer, and the fps are all over the place. Sometimes 90+, sometimes barely 30.
- Maybe some filters on the inventory could be nice
- Having a dedicated button to see the local map instead of having to zoom for 3sc every time
But, I also want to say that I'm having a blast playing !
I really donāt see them taking suggestions this is still Bethesda their plan has always been release unfinished game and let modders fix it then years down the line add modding to console when we want more money
Add more variety of spell visuals for each level of spell.
Novice-intermediate- journeyman etc
A fireball should not look exactly like the first flare spell. Spell intensity should make you feel and see your characters progression
We need the local map to be have a key or to be default in cavern
Fix the Difficulty please
I have no complaints about the remaster except its performance. I'm playing on a base ps5 and indoors the performance is fine but in the open world it's very stuttery with constant frame drops. Please improve the performance!
Hello! Those a Bethesda/Vitous first of all I want to thank you all for bring this masterpiece too us and at such a consumer friendly price and having it on game pass, truly the goats of the gaming industry! But Here's some suggestions I have:
. The Ability to re-edit your character would be nice! Maybe in the form of a new spell under the alteration tree ooor maybe like a type of "Magic Mirror" in Frostcrag Spire!
. Some slight physics adjustments as in adding physics to the haning lanterns around the world and adding hair physics too. (You also can't hit bodies with your weapon and havve them move like in the OG)
. Adding a Small filter in the settiings, call it a "Classic" filter or something and have it restore the vibrancy that Oblivion originally had! (I still love how the game looks but the filter would be nice!)
. Performance Optimizations
. Maybe have a Joke setting called "Classic Features" and have it just restore some of the most notoriously funny and over-powered bugs! (Like the Scroll duping glitch!) And have it disable achievements ofc.
That's my suggestions! Thank You kind sirs/ladies again for making such a great game!
And Todd....over this I promise I will buy every Skyrim you release from now on! I can't wait to play Skyrim special remastered 50th Aniversery Adition on my deathbed!
I have a large list of things I would suggest after 48 hours of straight playing. Here are some of my suggestions
Mod Support for all Platforms
-# āCome on Bethesda, we know you can do it.ā
Mod support for all platforms, we know itās doable and we know it should be a thing, it would greatly expand the gameplay, and donāt just give us 2 GB, We saw lenient you were with Starfield do the same with this game.
Updated/Improved Spellcasting
-# āGive us the choice to play with updated mechanics.ā
I know this is probably a request explicitly for those who started Skyrim first, but the limited ability of being a spellcaster though a single button is insane. I feel we should like it would be an amazing adaption to promote the ability to allow spellcasting to be more modular and adaptive for those who want to strictly dedicate a playstyle of doing such a thing.
Vampirism Greatly Expanded
-# āVampirism should be much more enjoyable than just stat buffs.ā
Please expand the Vampirism, make it more than just a stat buff system for players to abuse, and in more skills, mechanics and abilities. I feel this could be greatly expanded upon.
Lycanthropes!!
-# āGive us ability to be Werewolvesā
I would love to be able to play an expanded system for lycanthropy into Oblivion always felt like something the game needed as an option.
Better Spell Descriptions/More Enchanting and Spell effects.
-# āExpand the little details of Spells and make magic more investment.ā
I really love the see spell casting get greatly expanded and improved upon, such as better descriptions, and more effects. Give spells diversity in appearance and tiers, unique weapons having unique enchantment effects.
Expanded Inventory Filters
-# āClarify out Filters for Potions, Ingredients, etc.ā
Please clarify the filters within the inventory, give us a potion, divider, and ingredients, divider, properly separate things for things from looking neater and not a jumbled mess.
Hello, I would like to know if it's normal that when I go into the inventory of an enemy or something that has an inventory, I can't put anything in, only take it out? If so, it would be nice if we could make it so we could put things in the containers or the enemies, please. (Sorry for my bad English, I'm French)
Would LOVE the option for Skyrim style menu controls ā tab and space bar rather than escape and enter. Plus an ability to see your encumbrance when youāre looting without having to pull up your own inventory.
I would like to have the option to bind "Auto-run" when playing with a controller. You can bind it on keyboard, its default by "Q" but there is no option in the controller setting to have that. Would be a great accessibility option for us that have old gamer hands. š
Please Gyro Aim for controllers would be awesome
Some suggestions.
Pls mod support
Better difficulty options. Adept is too easy, expert too hard. Perhaps we can change damage values ourselves to prevent spongey enemies?
Please fix level scaling. Itās silly seeing bandits in high end armor. Daedric armor should feel rare like in morrowind and Skyrim.
Options to hide certain parts of the HUD
Better loot in caves and dungeons to make them worth it.
Make the sprinting animation less goofy
Make the game a bit less brown/gray and more vibrant like the OG
Overhaul vampirism and add werewolves
Horse combat
-
Toggle health regeneration on/off in settings
-
Delete spells from spellbook
-
De-nock arrows without putting the bow away
-
Beard options for Khajiit (remove default beard on all Khajiit)
-
Menu button should always bring you to the System menu, not any previously opened menu (e.g. inventory)
-
more impactful sound effects (current hit sounds are lacking oomph, though I get this is very subjective)
-
match container interaction sounds with original (instead of generic inventory open sound for all types of containers)
-
dedicated button to remove an alchemy ingredient from slot. Having to navigate the list to remove it is cumbersome
-
bring back original Oblivion style health bars (via menu toggle)
Official VR support would be amazing. Skyrim VR is already THE virtual reality game for a lot of players, being able to enjoy this game in VR too would be amazing (yes UEVR exists, but it only goes so far).
I like the remaster as is but the only thing id change is when you open a chest you have to press "R3 search" to open your inventory window to then be able to put stuff in which is frustrating but everything else is perfect and i would beg if you do decide to add all these suggestions plz have a way i can keep my game as is from launch
-
make the game a little colourful since itās high fantasy
-
fix performance and micro stutters
splitting pants and skirts (and the similarly-affected full-body outfits) into separate items that donāt change display model based on body type would be super cool too. the current behaviour feels like a bit of an archaic holdover from a time when maybe character mesh variety had to be more constrained.
with the gender-based stat modifiers being separated out into per-race āoriginsā in the remaster, the pant/skirt/outfit autoconversion is now especially jarring
Feel like lycanthropy is asking a bit too much thatās adding a whole lot of new mechanics and stuff everything else makes since but some of yāall have to realize this isnāt Skyrim no matter how much you want it they arenāt going to add things like romance, lycanthropy, building, starting your own guilds or fishing which are all things Iāve seen pitched with full seriousness mods? Doable honestly they are just being lazy by saying they arenāt gonna add them āto preserve gameplayā chest/inventory UI? Definitely needs updated thatās a common complaint but an entirely new gameplay mechanic? Not gonna happen
My character currently runs pretty fast which is fine for most of the time, but sometimes it's feels too fast, and walking can be too slow. Need a middle ground which is faster than walking, but slower than full speed.
When riding a horse, i see the horse name text box way too often (any time you look slightly down). Please remove this.
Came to the discord to say this! Thanks
Oblivion vr like skyrim vr and most importantly mod support. Thank you!
Proper race heights for the player character would be amazing. Being a 5'8" Altmer is devastating to the ego.
PS5: Sometimes it is very hard to loot things, it either does nothing to just tries to move the corpse.
A button to set the map straight to local view would be great, having to zoom all the way in to trigger it is kind of annoying.
Being able to give saves custom names (PS5) would be nice as well.
Please change the difficulty. in adept you are a sponge and you can just stand there doing nothing without dying. in expert it takes way to long to kill the enemy. there needs to be something in between. like only giving the enemy more damage and just a bit more health.
A way to remove the beard from Khajiit in the character creator would be nice
More body type in character creation... i wanna be a slim girl, but the character is too wide
Remove the beard for female khajiits, it looks weird.
Really feel like itās way to early to ask for a vr version that takes a looooong time to work on if they started right now they could probably get it out mid 2026 if they really rushed it plus they donāt even know yet if this game is going to be popular enough and keep a consistent fan base to justify putting all those resources into a vr version itās just asking to much to early but yeah honestly this game is gonna crash and burn on console if they donāt allow modding Iām already bored of it and itās only been 48 hours
Bethesda something that is actually imperative that you add is more horse armor... but jokes aside the TES IV: OBLIVION Remaster is seriously perfect! me, my cousins and my uncles are hyped and i love the remaster exactly the way it is! The only real actual issues are just bugs and preformance issues but those can be fixed, but oblivion remaster as a whole is perfect!
Adding to this: I would also like Starfield's ability to tune player and enemy damage independently of each other.
The UI has lost too much of the medieval aesthetic. Please re-implement the brown parchment style and other flourishes.
a keybind for the dodge ability would make it more useful
Please add āclearedā and āclosedā tags on the map screen for completed dungeons and Oblivion gates
who cares, just dont use it.
optimization is all i care for, the game is great otherwise.
⢠Overall performance and stuttering needs improvement, especially outdoors, without relying on frame generation. Even on a PC well above recommended specs, the game struggles to maintain consistent fps above 60, even with a mix of mostly low/medium and some high settings.
⢠A filter or option for a more classic Oblivion-style color palette would be great.
⢠The ability to cancel a bow draw, perhaps with a right-click or a keybind.
Please add muscles to nord player models or add back the race heights for player characters. It feels very odd being a scrawny short Nord when I usually make a Conan style character in oblivion. And it feels very weird being a short high elf.
Itās not too much to ask to have the option to remove a beard. I donāt even want it on my male khajiit.
Survival difficulty.
That's it. Love the game.
Unreal engine makes implementation of VR much easier than what had to be done for Skyrim VR. MODDERS ARE LITERALLY ALREADY PLAYING IT IN VR WITH BASIC MOTION CONTROLS. We are basically asking these tweaks get an official implementation.
Mainly ironing out performance. Totally understand keeping some quirks but ironing out optimization and making sure Iām not taking a risk by using the Xbox Play Anywhere features cause the game canāt handle jumping between console / PC. And fixing those pesky micro stutters.
Also I know the original didnāt have it but if there could be a native way to edit our faces / hair after leaving the sewers that would be amazing. Maybe tweaking difficulty so itās more consistent and I donāt have to cheese every hard encounter.
Thatās really all I can think of right now. Thank you all for your work and congrats on release
Auto equip arrows when you run out, like what Skyrim has would be great
A rebindable dodge key
Maybe some simple first person running animations like hands moving
Also though itās already been said a bit denockable arrows would be awesome,
** I just want to level up my leveled quest items **
Photo Mode
A clearer indication of a location being undiscovered on the compass
Add a mark indicating a location has been cleared or explored
Maybe new dungeons/locations to fill in some of the emptiness
Local map being a tab as opposed to zooming in first
More efficient way of storing your items in storages
Some shelves canāt display items. Decorating our homes is part of the joy.
Picking up and moving objects is a bit too tricky
A way to put your arrows away after theyāve been drawn
The absolute biggest improvement you can make is to the remove region lock that is preventing game from being sold in Korea.
People are unable to play this game even with valid game keys simply because they live in Korea.
Ex: Someone buys their friend the game from the US store and sends it to them in Korea as a gift, that person in Korea cannot download the game.
I'd also like the "Empty" designation to appear on corpses rather than just non-actor containers.
- Outdoor performance definitely needs help. Dont love needing DLSS to maintain 60+ when I have a 4070ti Super. (And even with it it can fall into the 40s sometimes)
- PLEASE add a way for the magicka/MP bar in particular to fade out when not in use. Iām running the Atronach birth sign and it's really annoying to be stuck with the mana bar on my screen at all times if I haven't topped my mana off, since it obviously won't regen and do its automatic fade. A UI option to tweak this might be helpful. Or just having the stat bars fade when not in combat in general, rather than only when full.
- Expert Difficulty feels too hard, and Adept too easy. Would love a happy balance of the two or tweaking to both.
- Please make it so the horse name tag doesn't pop up when already riding your horse.
Thats all I got for now! Thank you guys for such an amazing release otherwise!
Please fix the difficulty. Adept is so easy I canāt play it I feel like Iām one shotting mostly everything and on expert I canāt even kill 1 mountain lion even when Iām blocking and playing as smart as I could only way I could kill them is to resort to jumping on a high rock and shooting with arrows. I love challenging fights but expert difficulty is so busted.
Playing as a full warrior build it is impossible to win most fights, a 1v1 is possible if you keep reloading and hoping for a slip up but if you fight 2 or more opponents you will not win no matter how hard you try. Iām so excited to play this game but i think im going to take a break until thereās hopefully a patch soon that fixes difficulty so I can have a challenge and fun at the same time.
Please add native HDR support with controls for peak brightness, paper white etc as well
(I assume consoles don't have HDR support either)
We are in 2025 with many people having HDR capable displays, and this game would look amazing with it.
Without having to reply on modders to do SDR to HDR conversions.
PLEASEEEEEEEEEE do something about difficulty and about the leveled quest rewards. It's ridiculous that the current (original) systems actively encourage someone to level up as much as possible before doing almost anything.
Chameleon effect appears to be bugged⦠player character still appearing invisible several minutes after the effect has expired. Jāskar isnāt invisible at all, completely breaking the bruma mages guild quest.
Would love to see change sticks (turn / walk) on consoles.
Add more slots for the quick selection (or let us decide how many we want like 8, 10, 12 etc.).
Pause game when quick slot is opened.
Add touchpad support on Playstation like Warframe. Swipe left opens map, swipe up opens inventory etc.
Handful of things.
Expert difficulty scaling is out of whack (going from Adept to Expert is like going from halfway on og difficulty bar to like 85%)
Iād suggest making expert more in line with its Skyrim counterpart damage wise and perhaps make Master the one that jumps up bigger.
Alternatively Adept should be slightly harder to make the gap less drastic and apprentice made to be what current adept is.
Otherwise general performance tweaks and a very odd but small request. Add our encumberance numbers to the search container/enemy screen. As of now you need to go into the search then click the open both inventories option.
Itās a small thing but those added clicks can get a lil frustrating over a long session xD
In the same way that you guys did a fantastic overhaul of the attribute system, could you please please pretty please overhaul the leveled item system?
The issue is, if you get a super cool unique and rare quest reward, or world placed unique at say, Level 5, in barely even a few hours, it's going to become useless because it's stuck at Level 5, permanently, while you're now fighting bandits in Orcish armor and Daedroths.
Could we some kind of system that either auto-levels these items alongside the player at specific thresholds? Or maybe even just spawn in the items at max level, considering they won't have their maximum stats until you cap out their relevant skills? Essentially the same way Fallout 3 works.
Love the Remaster! Please support it for as long as possible!
Edit: Oh, general feedback stuff I forgot to mention. š ļø
1ļøā£ : Could we please get a dedicated button to swap between the World Map and Local Map? The "zoom in" way of doing it was a little unintuitive.
2ļøā£ : Could we get a dedicated button to open our inventory when interacting with a container/body/pickpocket without needing to inspect an item? Same boat as the map issue, it's a bit unintuitive right now.
3ļøā£ : Unlikely, and I know I'm pushing it, but could the beast race faces get a second attempt? š± š¦ Every other race's face got a huge upgrade, but the beast races look kinda... off. The Argonian males are probably the most egregious example. Their race portrait that appears in the menu is a spitting image of the Skyrim Argonians, yet the actual model in game looks like they got stung by a swarm of bees. š
4ļøā£ : Could we get the Skyrim QoL feature where, while readying an arrow, pressing the sheathe weapon button un-knocks it so you're back to a neutral weapon-holding state?
5ļøā£ : Future content additions like being able to finally use the Mythic Dawn bound armor set, and the Knight of Order armor.
Again, appreciate all your work! Oblivion is now my GOTY for 2006 and 2025. š
Please just make it run better on the Steam Deck, it's so close
This game is a dream. The only bug I have run into is the starlight spell doesn't work. Sometimes it turns on when you enter third person, but if you spam it as a way to level illusion then it stops working even then.
One suggestion I would have is to make the status effect timers smaller and put them on the top of the screen. Right now you are limited to seeing three and when you play certain classes you have a lot more than that running.
The time it takes for the claymore animation to end and to allow blocking seems way too long and longer than the original. It makes blocking ineffective as you can't get a hit in while the enemy is staggered without taking a full hit yourself. The animation should end slightly faster.
This is a long fetch but I would like to see levelled items scale with the characters level so the item doesnāt become useless if you have decided to do certain quests early.
In the character creator, when building a Khajiit, I'd lke to be able to color their fur and hair/beard separately from each other. I'd also like different facial hair options for Khajiit, and the option to remove the facial hair entirely.
A physical release would be great. Sad to see it be digital only and people can't add it to their own game collections. Performance needs tweaking a ton and an option to completely disable RT would be great. The only other thing I can think of is body sliders for weight and muscle like starfield and fallout but I understand that can be hard to pull off with possible weird clothing/armor stretching.
Adding some more animations for the Claymore weapon type, I've noticed daggers / shortswords have been given some new cool animations, Claymores still only have two basic attack animations, 1 more or 2 would make it feel much more satisfying
If I have a key for a lock, show me when I point to the lock rather than only after I try to lockpick it.
French voices please !!
Please fix the Difficulty settings!!
I would like the damage I deal in Adept but with the Damage I take in Expert.
Currently you either take so much damage in Adept you are borderline invincible or you go to Expert and itās just the opposite.
"A" button in quest log sometimes doesn't work. I open the journal, select another quest and press A to activate it. Nothing happens. I have to close and re-open the journal.
Some sort of transmog system would be awesome as it's a shame to have to ditch some the coolest armors and weapons that you get in early game.
Hey, me and my gf love the game, just a slight thing we'd like is to be able to toggle the steps off of the marker as it feels it draws a lot of attention rather than taking in the beautiful scenery.
And when you're in third person on the horse, the name of the horse keeps popping up which is quite distracting.
Performance is a must.
Equip/eat items directly from chest/corpse rather than taking and then going into inventory.
Storing items via tabs not the awkward search method.
Cancel arrow.
Cleared locations marker.
Hi,
I'm playing Elder Scrolls oblivion for the first time, and I just want to say that when you open the map, it should immediately show the local map instead of the world map. Other than that, I'm really enjoying the game!
Based on previous games anyone have a guess of when we can expect a patch to resolve some of these issues? Might hold off jumping back in till the difficulty is fixed
Add a performance mode on eggbawk
-
We need a difficulty level that is higher lethality but doesnāt turn enemies or players into full damage sponges. Adept is too easy but raising the difficulty any higher makes enemies super boring too fight since you have to hack at them for five minutes.
-
unique items should either scale with you as you level or should be rewarded at their max stats .
-
kill cams and assassination animations would be great
-
a āclearedā status for dungeon icons on the map
-
new items/armor including cloaks with cloth physics
I would like knockout back with hand to hand since hand to hand has been somewhat double nerfed if you include the changes to how fatigue affects damage
I'm seeing a lot of people posting "denock arrow" "cancel arrow"
Just sheathe your bow when the arrow is pulled back...it's already in game
My suggestions are as follows:
-Unlink voice from body type. Allow the player to choose the voice they want.
-Difficulty settings that change enemy behavior rather than relying on damage numbers and health pools. (I.E. enemies become more aggressive and flank more often at higher difficulties, but attack less often and perform more power attacks at lesser difficulties.)
-Toggle ESPs on and off in menu.
-Compress file size by, like, a lot.
-Optimize rendering, there's definitely more going on than just people having bad hardware.
I would lime to see an additional spot to edit how our Heroes look after exiting the sewers so we have fully natural lighting to see them in. Like the Face changer in Riften
This!
-
Frame generation needs to be reworked : too much artifacts
-
Make the key āEā be usable through the menu aka equipping gear etc
-
TAB should also close the menus
-
Local map should he toggeable instead of being accessed from zooming
If it's possible, optimisations to get the game running at a stable 30fps outdoors on Steam Deck would be appreciated. At present, I don't think the game should be deck verified. I'm not sure if this is universal, but the game frequently crashes for me on Deck after a few hours of play and typically in scenarios like approaching a town or exiting a city into the open world.
In the location "Unmarked Cave", there is a rock door that has been glitched for 20 years, preventing access to the final area of the cave. Please let the door open:\
Add melee finisher animations like the ones in Skyrim
Please fix the difficulty, adept is too easy and expert is too hard
Opposite for me. I like the damage I deal at Expert (it makes me use everything i have - poisons, power attacks, fatigue potions, proper destruction effects against resistant enemies etc), but how much i take is a bit too much. It's mainly an issue in oblivion that armor is "increasing returns", i.e. every next point of armor is better than the previous (just because of how %s work) once i get my armor and resistances to 60+ expert difficulty should be fine. Unfortunately i don't see how it could easily be fixed without implementing something "just for the player" (which is anti-elder scrolls in spirit), so i think it's better to just give us 2 separate sliders for player damage taken and received
English is the only voice option now. Would be nice to include all the Languages, the Original game had.
Please fix the difficulty problem, adept and anything under is far too easy, but extreme is far too hard, please add something between adept and extreme or make enemies deal less damage on extreme and you deal a bit more damage
#1 prio
After downloading the OG game and comparing, I say this again so it (hopefully) gets fixed:
NPC AI is bugged.
- If you loot containers near them, they circle through their dialog at breakneck speed.
- Enemy AI is often non existent. They just freeze.
- The volume of the NPC chatter something bugs out and you hear the entire district at once.
- NPCs get stuck more often then in the original (aka walking into a wall). It takes them much longer to snap out of it as well.
Again, I checked against the original.
Add back Sutch
Please make it so if I press M while in a location, I get the local map not the world map.
Also, I'd love locations like Frostcrag to have a map marker
This, but also finisher animations for magic and archery too! Even just the slow-motion camera zoom had a satisfying effect in Skyrim.
Please fix leveled quest rewards its literally my biggest grip now that actual leveling has been fixed. Either make it so that unique leveled gear always drops as its best possible version or make it so that when you level up the item and its enchantment levels with you. It makes no sense that we can be punished if we accidentally do the wrong quest too early and now an awesome piece of gear is useless to us because its stuck forever as its low level version. I know modders have fixed this already for pc players but with no official mod support plamned us console players will need to play the game with a guide open to make sure we dont accidentally ruin the best gear in the game by getting it too early.
Xbox Series X performance is currently far below acceptable standards in both modes. I managed to play for about 2 hours before deciding to put it down and hold off until future patches. It seemed tolerable at first, but the FPS drops are very bad.
Theres a bug which lets me hold a shield equipped while having a 2 handed weapon also equipped. This can also be seen visually.
Difficulty badly needs a rebalance. Adept is too easy and expert is ridiculous.
The Oblivion Gates should not be open before resolving Kvatch. Jauffreys dialogue makes no sense when the gates are open all over, and deciding "when to open" is a great element for secondary playthroughs for experienced players.
Great job with the game, you guys are absolutely awesome.
Here is a small list of things that improving on would dramatically help my experience in the game.
- HDR ( itās 2025 and UE5, please add this)
- Outdoor performance as noted by many others is a large issue. iām getting 50 frames a sec with 3080 ti and 13th gen intel i7
- leveled item scaling is an absolute must, too many great items quickly become trash and thatās a really sad thing due to how cool they are.
- Iām playing expert difficulty, which feels fine, however the large and unnatural jump between that and the next level down makes me feel a 6th level of difficulty is needed.
- HDR please š!!!!!
-
Weird glitch where PC doesnāt have their weapons equipped in character screen
-
Please add the ability to adjust player damage output% and enemy damage output% separately, to make oneās experience more customizable
-
Official mod kit, even though it is a big ask:)
No more glowing items
Fix the jumping while mounting horse with weapon draw
Give us a sprint style/movement style option in character creator.
The current sprint causes the head to clip through hills and looks stupid.
Enemies shouldnāt freeze in the background during npc dialogue anymore.
Make my character the height of their race.
Merchants do not lose gold when selling items.
PC - make the buttons more consistent for UI, press E to read a book, have to press enter to pick it up. this carries over to a lot of ui elements. Also hide elements for map should stay hidden every time until unhidden, local map should open automatically in dungeons and stay open.
Please fix the clipping through shields while blocking with a shield.
Add how much weight you are carrying/total weight you can carry to the screen when looting a container
I am going to try and keep these realistic and brief!
- NPC AI seems to have a few bugs that weren't present in the original. They seem to slow (in the head).
- Levelled rewards pre-levelled or a way to scale them up as we go.
- Photo Mode! The game pauses on Xbox Series X whenever I try to take a screenshot š¦
- A smoother transition from gameplay to dialogue. On Xbox Series X it just seems like the game stutters and then I'm in it.
- A way to respec your character after leaving the sewers.
- A way to customise your hair after leaving the sewers.
- A way to customise your characters appearance after leaving the sewers.
- Personally, I'd love a more customisable HUD.
- Difficulties need a bit of change. Adept to Expert is a huge leap.
- Old-School Colour Filter restoring some of the old colours from OG Oblivion
- Height and Body sliders. My Breton currently looks tiny.
- The Sprint Animation...c'mon guys!
- Performance fixes across all systems.
- Weapon appearing invisible when viewing it in inventory.
Press E instead of Enter to close info windows. Make M open a local map in a dungeon instead of the overworld map, and make it so you can zoom out in the local map to a good point so you can see teh entire dungeon.
Make it so that when you toggle icons in the map it actually stays because when you open it again it just resets
I love the game and the community but bethesda i may ask performance mode for xbox series s 60 fps, Let's make everyone happy for everyone who have an xbox series s.
Insert difficulty between adept and expert call it adexpert or something idk
Iād like to see levitation magic be added in and for guards to arrest players that get caught using it. Could be unlocked through the mage tower you get.
Second this. Especially The palace armour and the mythic dawn version of bound armour spell. The spell is literally in the testing hall as cut content from the original same as armour of the Order.
Is there anything related to a physical release of the remaster eventually ?
Id like to see something interesting here when walking around in the Imperial city I'd love to see some other players characters not every player but just their character they upload so that it walks around like an npc doing random things or randomly appear as an arena enemy.
Or
Use it as an opportunity for very limited co op duals in the arena against other players. Your friends can be invited to your city to goof around and what not the. Duke it out in the arena.
Iād really like to see a Face Sculptor implemented like the one in Skyrim, I was surprised that this wasnāt an added QOL feature.
Make my altmer tall
Bring back male and female instead of the nonsense body type 1 and 2. Remove asking for pronouns when joining the discord.
Posting again seeing as it was removed the first time.
Fix the character holding fists up in the menu.
Certain shields clip through the arm on a horse.
The entire town freezes when leaving certain cells
Sprinting is now FASTER than the horse. Adding a sprint should either reduce movement speed or horses need to move faster to compensate.
We need a controller dead zone option with how bad modern controllers have become. The game is extremely sensitive to it.
Change the two handed power attack. I wanna feel like a Robert Baratheon, not āspin, slash, pirouetteā
Cells should be loaded before we see the environment.
Two handed swords regularly clip through pauldrons.
The character backstep should cause us to fall over.
The dodge button doesnāt always register my new position cuz I get hit by spells that are 4 feet away from me.
Screen space filtering causes weird shadows. For example the sword will reflect a shadow across an entire lake.
NPCās do not always have sounds coming out their mouths.
Having a horse with a lower personality than you causes enemies to sprint past you and go for your horse.
Face sculptor
Put out a patch that replaces the game with TES6.
I was 20 when Skyrim came out. I better not be 50 when you get to number 7 Todd.
official mod support/construction set remastered would be great
Please add the option to pause the game while using the short cut wheel.
Bring back French and german audio, like the game in 2006. Be normal ?
Tune the difficulty levels, adept makes you too tanky and expert makes AI too tanky. There should be an in-between that has it so you take and do decent damage without breezing through content.
Use spells while on horse, at least spells like Clairvoyance
Please do something about the difficulty settings. Currently expert way too hard while adept way too easy.
Just let us enter an output and input damage multiplier!
Please bring the NPC crowd system from Starfield into Oblivion Remastered, I've never gotten over on how empty the towns feel
- Advanced difficulty settings would be nice. Having sliders for damage taken enemy and player as well as spawn rates seems like an easy solution.
- Name of the horse popping up while riding gets quite annoying.
One thing that made Oblivion so unique was the colour scheme, it almost made it appear dream like, so it would be nice to see an option to restore those colours in a patch
This could be a large-ish change, so I understand if it isn't considered at all...
I would like it if, like in Skyrim, I can pick up bounties or generic quests to clear out a Fort or Cave of bandits, undead etc.
It's cool to RP as a sellsword going from city to city picking up generic quests and it helps encourage a bit of extra exploration around the map.
Or at the very least super slow time
- Classic hud toggle/hud options.
- Crosshair toggle/transparent crosshair instead of opaque.
- Classic colors/filter toggle.
- Make better looking Male/type 2 Orcs, they look way too old even if the slider is on young.
- First person Horse riding.
- Mod support for consoles even if itās limited.
When I finish persuasion, I'd like to just go back to the dialogue menu rather than having to "skip" the NPC endlessly staring at me.
I've made a post about this on reddit, but I'll boil it down here without delving too deep to keep it short:
Graphics:
- Vegetation looks very dull and grayed-out;
- The mountains in the background break the immersion every single time. The contrast of the amount of detail between the foreground and the background in the Remastered version is jarring;
- Same for the woodland areas in the background. The woods feel a lot sparser.
- Why are the clouds shining at night?
- Collectibles are highlighted when aimed at. I want this to be an option
- Sad and angry faces are almost indistinguishable in the disposition minigame.
Environment:
- WAY TOO BROWN
- Water reflections are weird
- The trees themselves don't sway left and right like they would in real life. But that's nitpicking on my part.
UI:
- Too few categories in the inventory, far less than the original
- You can't hide UI for photos or full immersion (for me the latter is more important)
- The action keys descriptions below aren't clickable
Gameplay:
- The lockpicking minigame has become a nightmare. In vanilla Oblivion, if you see the tumbler go down almost instantly, that means that the next time it's guaranteed to move very slowly. This mechanic is gone now.
- I'm a wood elf, but I'm the same height as most other NPCs. I'm a giant among my fellow Wood Elves. I'm assuming it's the opposite with the High Elves and Orcs.
RESTORE THE CLASSIC COLOR/COLOUR PALLET
The OG oblivion open world was very green and felt inviting and cozy to explore. The color in the remaster is too brown and depressing which is NOT the emotion it should envoke. This is just forvthe open world so please remove the muddy atmosphere.š² š š²
Add collision with dead bodies. Also objects that have collision disabled too
- PLEASE.. give us more viable claymore attack animations for 3rd person, both hammer and great axe have sweeping strikes that look great in 3rd person, the claymores are simply lack luster and harder to land in 3rd
It would be a dream come true to play Oblivion in PSVR2, also Mod Support is a must for Consoles and PC
Well rested bonus doesnāt display in active effects
Default XP gains should be a looooot slower. The changes to the leveling system are good but you can level a lot faster now without paying attention to skill increases. I've played 12 hours. Now level 22 and I'm decked out in full daedric. There are enough quests to last you hundreds of hour, but only enough gear progression to last you about 20. XP gains are not tuned for the amount of content atm
Im absolutely loving the game so far, brings back so many memories of the original, I'm sure this has been said, but I would love to be able to scale enemy and player damage dealt separately for more control over the difficulty. Thank you for everything you've done with this so far though!
A way to customize your house.
More faction storylines like joining the Imperial guard.
Fishing
Guild/ merc company creator to run your own guild hire npc and establish armor and such. Will let you occasionally see your guild members patrolling cities and roads taking small odd jobs and bring in a modest coin that can be used to upgrade the members and base or take it for yourself with risk of members leaving because of it.
Add werewolves
Add new quests
Add dlc
Give us world bosses that wonder the map and provide greater challenge always above the difficulty and our level. Could drop greater loot with chance of unique weapon or armor based on the boss.
Add horse back fighting like in skyrim.
Vampire hunters that hunt you the more your spotted feeding.
I have just one wish: Bring back original Voice Actors for all other languages except english ... I miss them so much :(

Faster horse gallop
Oblivion gates reopening as long as you havenāt completed the main storyline. I canāt kill enough daedra and 60 gates just isnāt enough for my hunger for daedra
Add more character customisation options like:
- Scars
- Face paint
- Height slider
- Eyebrows options
- Facial hair for Khajiit
- Horns for Bosmer
some Suggestions
- Gyro Aiming for Controllers on PC
- more options for controller remapping
- HDR
- more Options to disable HUD elements and have options to permanently make certain HUD elements always visible (like Health, magicka, and stamina bars)
- putting items in chests is horribly unintuitive
-
Spanish translation is kinda weird in some places (mostly translated names, Pelinal Descarga Blanca sounds dirty)
-
I don't know if the world scaling with you is still a thing, for some people it's part of the experience, but for others like me it's kinda lame. If it's there (I'm really early in the game, so I don't know) it would be cool to have an option to enable it on a new game.
-
Everyone has said it, color palette, make it green.
-
Port the Skyrim system on crime, basically add support for witnesses reporting crimes, psychic guards are pretty bad.
-
Fast loot, or let me loot thins with the "e" key
-
Skip dialog with "e" key
-
More customization options. Want cool Morrowind face tattoos for my dunmer
I agree, ive decided to not level up in certain levels so that i can enjoy armour sets without jumping between levels too fast and not properly enjoying each section of the tier system.
-
Optional Toggles for Colour Grading from new to original (from rlthe realistic to the saturdated) as well as support for Nvidia Game Filter
-
The menus work better with a Keyboard and Mouse but seem to be tricky with a controller (maybe an option to use the old menu layout could be fun)
-
Let us move stuff around the hud and maybe let us have "skins" for different aspects of the Hud
-
Quest Markers disappearing from the Compass when not facing them instead of stacking up like they used to can make me break immersion by having to 360 until I see the arrow, maybe add stacking quest markers as an option
-
Interior Maps, the original game had maps for dungeons and other interiors which I can't seem to find in the new version, this would make dungeon delving a lot more accessable
-
Be able to replace "Enter" in menus with the chosen "Interact" key
-
Separate the Interract buttons and move buttons as an option
-
Player character head size seems to grow after characyer creation, making the face look huge
-
SPRINT ANIMATION LOOKS DERPY
-
Walking animation works well for being over encumbered but looks like you've been absolutely crippled even if you just wanna walk a certain way
-
Maybe have changable walk/run/sprint styles like in GTA
Suggestions
- Option to use dpad 8 directions for direct shortcut select
- Fix the colors it's too brown, we need the original green forests
- there are stuff that could be better in UI like when looting would help to see your current encumbrance, or when trading, haggle button only works when you are in the merchant side, also the alchemy ui is kind of mess really, or when in map you need to zoom all the way first to see the interior map, this is really stupid
- fix the difficulty, adept is too easy but expert is too hard
Fishing? For the Immersion and chill? ššš
I'm really enjoying the game right now ā it's been an amazing experience!
If I could suggest one thing, it would be a respec option. Oblivion's class system feels a bit more locked-in, and being able to adjust your build mid-playthrough would go a long way for players who like to experiment.
Enemy scaling
Survival mode like skyrims
As long as there's modding support, then we can handle the rest
easter eggs are always welcome, seeing the throat of the world was sick. demon's souls remake was pretty faithful (to the gameplay anyway) but had the coins + locked door for example
Yeah, I've encountered the same issue. Went from steel armor to orcish/ebony and more or less completely skipped Dwarven. Hope they tweak it or they give us console mod support since it would be very easy to change
Thatās what this is meant for. There is slow mode on for 15 minutes. Impossible to have a discussion with that restriction
Let us change key binds for interface, e.g. press e to loot a single item, press spacebar to skip dialogue instead of enter, etc.
- Physical copies!!!
- The world is stunning but I'd love an option to have a more green filter more similar to the original
- Option to turn on and off UI /HUD elements
⢠Performance fixes (the game is literally unplayable for me on a 3070 without modding it right now)
⢠Being able to see your carry weight when looting
⢠Hardcore mode (food, water, and sleep, no fast travel option)
⢠Fallout 4 Styled loot menu
⢠Original Oblivion Color option
⢠New Difficulty Slider with some kind of reworked Difficulty system that's different from the original
Prestige maxed out skills (like skyrim)
Survival mode
A custom difficulty that can decrease everyoneās HP so the players and the enemies arenāt tanks
Resplendent quests involving oblivion gates, gates may reopen (before completing the main quest)
Armor is too weak at low levels and too strong at high.
Full set of iron armor at the stat gives you about 15% damage reduction... so at 100 life you now can tank 115 damage. With light armor it's even worse. This is pretty inconsequential, you'd be lucky if it you can get hit 1 or 2 times more with it. Once you reach 50 armor, your effective life gets doubled and it actually starts becoming VERY effective
Once you reach the cap of 85, it multiplies your effective life by 6.67!
I have derived a linear formula that should be applied to armor to make it more useful at lower levels and less overpowered at higher levels. Here it is:
100%*(1 - 1 / ( 1 + ArmorValue / Divisor))
I found a fair value for the divisor to be 25.
Here are some sample values to show how it will smooth out:
Current state:
arm dr% life_multiplier
10 10 1.11
15 15 1.17
30 30 1.43
45 45 1.82
60 60 2.5
75 75 4
85 85 6.67
My suggestion:
arm dr% life_multiplier
10 28.6 1.4
15 37.5 1.6
30 54.5 2.2
45 64.3 2.8
60 70.6 3.4
75 75.0 4
85 77.3 4.4
100 80.0 5
Notice that there's also no need to have an armor cap (currently 85), you can let it grow as much as player wants and it will keep improving your defense.
P.S. same formula should be applied to elemental resistances, and also need to check it for negative values
p.p.s i checked it for negative values, and it would be pretty silly to use this formula for negative values because your effect goes down 0 really quickly (at -25 with suggested divisor). So for negatives this formula shouldn't be used
⢠a combat "lock-on" feature that allow me to toggle between enemies better in 3rd person.
⢠Executions.
⢠More dynamic combat animations, maybe some implementation of a "Bethesda/Virtuos" style attack combo system?
⢠Body weight and Height Sliders.
⢠Less dramatic "walk backwards" lean. Looks a little silly that my characters back is at such a sharp angle.
⢠Toggle to make helmets invisible (perhaps with a "remove" animation?!)
⢠Ability to change appearance after leaving the sewers.
⢠Fallout 4 style loot menu.
⢠Cut material to be finished and implemented (a chance for us to experience some previously dreamt up material left behind in 2006.)
- It would be great to get the animation to attack in the direction you face in 3rd person (looking up or down) as you can in 1st, so far it only attacks looking straight forward and it takes a lot of immersion away for me playing 3rd
My main gripe is that no one seems to stand up properly
I've not played too much yet (~7 hours), but the initial things I've noticed:
Character Creation:
-Some of the origins have the wording the wrong way round for the stats they give. For example, the Redguard Origins need to be switched. (Very minor).
- If you choose to tweak your appearance or race at the end of the Imperial Sewers, it seems like your origin is pre-set to the one on the left and this is easy to miss.
-It's not in the base game so maybe this is wishful, but it would be cool to have limited customisation in-game through a hairstylist or something similar.
UI:
- The map needs a dedicated button to switch between local and world map, and it should remember which one you were on if you close and re-open the menu. As it stands, the map defaults back to being on the world map and centered on the player every time you close the menu.
- The inventory screen when interacting with a container should show your inventory on the left side, similarly to Fallout or Skyrim. It's a bit clunky and unintuitive now to open your inventory through inspecting items.
- In a similar vein, it would be nice to see your encumbrance when you open a container.
- Please make it so we don't see our horses name constantly every time the crosshair passes over it.
Gameplay:
-DIFFICULTY -this needs some work. One of the most common complaints I'm seeing is that adept is too easy, Expert is unnecessarily punishing. On Adept, it feels like you can just walk in to enemies and beat them in melee no problem, and barely take any damage. On Expert, enemies take significantly longer to kill and can kill you in 2 or 3 hits. I'm fine with difficult settings, but right now there's no sweet spot and the jump between Adept and Expert is way too large. I'd like a more intuitive difficulty which doesn't just affect damage in/damage out ideally, but for now those numbers need looking at.
Performance:
- needs a look at across the board.
Please fix Oblivion Gates spawning prior Kvatch quest
Dual wielding, armor customization, expansions of the world area (meaning more to explore/ new quests/ npc's etc.), difficulty tuning sliders rather than generic "levels", quick change between local and world map. And honestly more character customization, it felt limited especially in hairstyles and changing the body itself. Survival mode.
Performance patch please
Add french Dub back in the game. It was in the original why not in the new one ?
Do not bow to the French add every language but French
Turn camp fires with cooking bowls into Alchemy stations. Approaching fires with cooking bowls should prompt the Alchemy menu.
Every race has a unique voice now so localized VA would have to go back and also record fresh stuff including the two(?) entirely new quest lines as well.
Mod support. At least some kind of toolkit that helps with ue5
Absolutely loving the game so far, considering I never gave the original a big enough try, this time I'm fully immersed and it's great. I can only think of a few things that don't overall change the game but just little nit picks that I think could make it better
-
Optimising the game for console, at least in my experience I experience very little stutter with the exception of entering and exiting interiors, and roaming around the open world. There's also some texture lagging like the game hasn't fully loaded yet when doing the same thing but it only lasts a few seconds.
-
Putting NPCs names to the bottom of the screen or make an option to do it. It's a bit distracting when looking at an NPC and their name appears in a big box when aiming at them. It's not too bad but I wish there was an option to put it to the side or the bottom.
-
Official mods. More of a suggestion rather than a full on something to be worked on. But it'd be neat at some point in the future to have official modding for consoles. Adds a bit more replay value and fun after experiencing the game for a while.
-
Colour options. I'm personally fine with the colours as they are, but from what I've heard some people want to change it. For me I'd just rather have a few sliders to find the perfect balance instead.
-
Switch between dungeon map and full map. In the game now you have to zoom all the way in and then click zoom again to get the dungeon map. I think adding a button might make this more accessible and easier to understand.
That's pretty much it from me so far. As I said I'm loving the game, but these extra bits and pieces might make it a bit better. Thanks again for giving us this masterpiece once again!
Also, fast travel to undiscovered areas is crazy. Please remove it.
That's been there for 20 years bud it ain't going anywhere
general:
⢠options to customise the HUD/UI (e.g. turning off the compass)
⢠dark mode for the menus (love the normal one, but get blinded by it in caves etc)
loot:
⢠option to enable fo76-style looting of nearby bodies when looting a body
for the lefties (i know this isn't a huge priority for most people and probably harder to implement than most things, especially in Oblivion as opposed to skyrim):
⢠ability to equip weapons in left and shields in right hand (and use them accordingly)
-
More ways to sort inventory, for example by "Used" so all your alchemy tools are at the top of the menu or so your equipped gear stays at the top.
-
Highlight compatibile ingredients in the alchemy menu to decrese menu hopping between effects or spamming different ingredients
-
Saves organised by character name (please consider this for people who save at the sewer exit)
Add French, German and other voices.
Give potions and alchemy ingredients their own sub-menu's in the inventory menu.
((Part 2, didn't realise Slow mode was on))
Animations:
- Overall pretty great. 2H Claymores feel noticeably clunkier than other weapons I've used, but that's maybe down to the original game.
- The sprint animation, while hilarious, is really bad and probably needs another pass. Characters lean down too far and swing their arms too much and too aggressively.
- I'm not sure if this is an animation thing, but I really don't like all Races being the same height when the player chooses them, but NPCs having the correct heights. Why am am I the only High Elf shorter than 6' and why is my wood elf as tall as an Imperial? I'm hoping this can be changed.
Gameplay:
- the favourites wheel on controller is a little clunky, and I feel like it should freeze time when you open it. That's more of a preference thing, I'm sure people would disagree. It makes selecting spells on the fly a little challenging, and if I want to stop time I could just do it by opening the menu so it's not exactly "OP".
- a dedicated quicksave option on controller would be nice. The mod "Kontrol" for Skyrim on Nexus would be a fantastic template to try and adapt, as it added additional functionality when multiple buttons were pressed at once (L1 + O, for example)
Visuals:
- I love the new visuals and the team absolutely smashed it with textures etc. However, it would be nice to have a built in re-shade (maybe optional) that increases contrast and saturation to bring back the original Oblivion's painting-like charm.
Overall, this is one of the best remasters I've seen and definitely sets the gold standard - improvements where needed without any changes to the core game. Morrowind next? š
⢠World Map: increase resolution quality when zoomed in.
⢠Horse riding: optimize movement for easier turning and reversing
⢠Sprinting: tone down the animation to be more realistic.
⢠Mouth movement bug: Sometimes mouths move without sound/subtitles.
- Trading: cannot haggle when focused on "sell" menu. Have to first switch to the buy menu. Please let us haggle in selling menu as well
- 1 <Item> was added to player's inventory. first of all, remove the 1? second, please don't call us "player"? this is immersion breaking, just omit that part: <Item> was added to inventory
- Location title appearing in the middle of the screen is too intrusive. I was running around Weye (village west of imperial city) picking flowers and the "Weye" kept appearing all the time. Add a cooldown to this please
- bug: when you purchased 5 skill tranings on a level, you get a message "This person cannot help you train any higher", while obviously the limitation is that I trained 5 times this level already, not because my skill has reached trainer's level.
- Aclhemy. After you've used all the ingredients from a specific effect with its filter active, it's impossible to remove the filter (it disappears from the filter list)
- Font in hand written notes is too modern. Old scribbly font was much better.
I know this is probably for new suggestions but....
Currently there's 2 bugs I've encountered that completely stop me from progressing the thieves guild and mages guild on console Xbox series s.
The stranger refuses to give me the forged letter in the thieves guild questline
And my high elf can't fit through the gap in the well to retrieve the ring of burden during the mages guild quest line like my hitbox is too big or something currently the original version is working better than the remastered and idk why
I think this would be a good time to patch in the palace armour if possible. We all want it please
A survival mode would be really interesting and be a new way to approach Oblivion. Also an enemy density slider of some kind would be awesome let me have double or triple the enemies if i want, performance be damned!
Dual wielding spells in each hand like Skyrim would be a good addition, also a slow mo/pause on the selection wheel in combat
First of all, absolutely loving it so far! The QOL improvements are overall really appreciated. Some suggestions:
-
the pairing between torso and legs feels slightly exaggerated. It adds more reactivity but when sprinting or walking up or down an incline, could use some improvements.
-
more inventory sorting types, such as type, or equipped
-
some more HUD customisation options. This could be opacity, scale, dynamic options, or even a hud toggle keybind would be amazing!
-
the new lip sync is fantastic, Nice!
-
the stuttering across the board in open world could use some optimisation, I think itās a UE5 issue but I donāt really know enough to say.
-
balancing the difficulty between Adept and Expert, maybe more customisation or even a description of what each difficulty changes, to help with accessibility.
-
visuals are breathtaking, so much care has been put in. Potentially a classic filter option for those who prefer the classic colour palette, I donāt know how easy this is though.
Thanks again team oblivion remastered!
-
Colour Filter options to allow players to make the game more saturated like the original.
-
Divide the 'Body Type' option in Character Creator into three categories: Body, Voice, and Identity (how NPCs refer you). Right now, it's a mere rename of 'Male' and 'Female'.
-
General optimisation and file size compression.
The landscapes have been there for 20 years why did they change that? Why did they change NPCās and add new voice dialogue? The walking animations were already there, why were they touched? Dumb argument.
Suggested UI tweaks:
- separate Alchemy kit from the ingredients in the Ingredients tab;
- separate Keys, Books and all the rest in the clutter tab;
- give an option to pause/slow the game on opening the Quickaccess menu (would be very useful on consoles, IMO).
A way to edit our characters appearance after we leave the sewer. Maybe some sort of mage in the imperial city or perhaps in shivering isle.
I absolutely Bethesda and Virtousā craftsmanship on this remaster, but please consider bringing out some performance patches! Iāve been struggling to get consistent fps in the open world, especially during heavy effect weathers such as rain in black marsh. Iām running and 3070 a i9 and Iām struggling to maintain a solid 50 in the open world!
Unique items and quest rewards scaling. They must level up with the player. Could be implemented in a similar way as is done for Knights of the Nine items. Maybe a requirement for certain resources to be added, not just automatically.
Also, I'm not sure about the auto-leveling of enemies, but if it's still the same as in the original game, it would be great to see a system similar to Skyrim. When enemies have a level and gear cap, and the weak exist mixed with the strong.
I would also like to see a game mode without fast travel, something like survival in Skyrim and Fallout 4 (especially with saving the game only in bed).
Btw, thank you so much for the incredible change in the leveling system.
It isn't quite as simple as "bring out some performance patches" though. As frustrating as it is, the problem is largely down to UE5.
-
Controller options for using hotkeys on the DPad and maybe have a "Shift" function like Elden Ring has with the DPad where you can shift from your menus to your hotkeys
This would make wizards and rangers more viable swapping between spells and arrows -
A wishlist item is definitely a Notes or Diary tab for when you make a character and have a break it's easier to take notes and remember who you are playing as
When you look down while riding a horse, the horseās name text will pop up. Itās very sensitive and youāre likely to see the text popping in and out very frequently while youāre riding around unless you only look straight ahead. Itās very irritating and immersion-breaking.
The difficulty balancing is really bad right now. Adept is too easy. Expert is too big of a spike in difficulty compared to Adept. Needs an in-between. The difficulty slider should return from the original.
Performance isnāt great in outdoor areas on PS5 and needs to be optimized.
This game has been a lot of fun so far as a fan of the original, and Iām loving the graphical overhaul. It just needs some fixes. The horse text is honestly the most frustrating to me⦠it bugs me way more than it should.
just get the DLSS Mod it helps a lot
Hey guys, first I wanna say I'm loving the game. But my biggest problem with the game so far, and someone else may have already said it, is the difficulty setting. Adept is quite easy, way too easy for me, but expert becomes instantly too hard. It would be nice to either lower the difficulty of expert or to give an additional option. Beyond that, I'd actually like to see the hotkeys changed. I'm playing on PC but I'm using a controller. And as it is when you click the hotkey button you have to then also select something with your right stick. It used to be in old school Oblivion that you could just use the directional pad for this and I found that way, way handier. As it is now it feels very difficult to quickly switch spells mid fight because you then have to use the right stick. I'd like to see an option to return the hotkeys to how they were for OG Oblivion when using controller.
-
1st person and general revamp of controls for the horse
-
support out of the box of custom keyboards layouts (Azerty for example)
-
as many others have pointed out, optimization patches would be pretty good
Thank you for this great remaster !
just don't use it if you don't want too
I know this is probably for new suggestions but....
NPC AI is definitely bugged compared to the original.
Characters get stuck in combat, move slow, or can be infinitely cheesed by backing up and shooting. This is probably the biggest problem for me, as gameplay feels more off than og oblivion for me!
Also we get stuck on spots in doors so the time. I'm loving it so far but would love for these bug fixes for the longevity of the game.
Also if you shoot an enemy from farther away they don't move!
- Please allow MIXED INPUT on pc. This means analog joystick AND mouse at the same time.
Why?
- Analog keyboards like Wooting send joystkc signals, for smooth movement
- Steam Controller or Steam Deck - send all controller inputs, but right trackpad behaves as mouse for more precise aiming
-
Please allow configuration of joystick dead zones in game settings (like in skyrim's INI fRThumbDeadzone). I find right stick dead zone to be a little too high.
-
Please allow map panning with DPad or Right Joystick. Panning it with mouse is too slow
-
When you change a setting, you need to press X to apply changes. But if you try to exit without changes, a prompt appears asking if you want to apply changes, and in this prompt X discards changes. Please make this consistent, X in the prompt should also apply all.
-
Ultra wide screen resolutions: Please move dialogue options closer to the center (IMHO they should be in the same place as for 16:9 screen)
-
Interacting with containers\corpses - it's very unobvious how to switch to "give items" mode (you have to "search" first, why?)
-
An option to switch between "toggle sprint" and "hold to sprint" would be very nice. I would really prefer to hold to spring.
-
Alchemy: very unclear how to remove ingredients? I figured you have to click on them on the left panel, but the UI suggests like you could select them on the right - but it doesn't do anything?
-
Everyone wrote this a lot of times already, but: Separate hotkey for local map, please! Don't make me zoom in all the way first.
-
Poisons of damage health say they apply "on self", as if your character is going to drink them. Please remove that part.
-
Exiting persuasion mini game is awkward. First you press B to exit, then you have to press A to continue\return back to dialogue root. Just exit to the dialogue root right away
There seem to be many bugs involving the height of characters, that need fixing:
-player characters (sometimes just the hitboxes) growing too large to navigate the world, especially insides.
-first person and third person height being different. Sometimes to a huge degree.
-player characters being all the same height, no matter the race. (This seems to randomly change on reloads too)
100% Chameleon does not make your character Model completely invisible to you as a player. In the original game you could never see your character again as long as you had 100% chameleon on. I really miss that feature in the remaster. I dont want to see the outlines of myself i want to completely vanish like before.
Is there an official place to submit big reports?
i speak for everybody here when i say bring back green colours or a classic filter option. oblivion needs to look high fantasy or itās not oblivion. great game otherwise
-
Performance
-
AI clean-up
-
Colour Palette/Filter option
-
Deadzone settings or menu sensitivity sliders. Jitter in controllers is causing problems.
-
Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain toggle
-
Body Sliders customization. Thin/Muscular/Shoulder size etc.
-
Different body height for races or height customization
-
Voice options in character creation
-
War paint in character creation
-
Equip/Use/Eat/Read options when looting
-
Cleared Dungeon indicators
-
Being able to move while using the quick menu. Otherwise, pause the game when using the quick menu, like the Favourites section in Skyrim.
-
Input latency causing you to cast your previous spell if you cast too soon after switching spells through number hotkeys. (Nvidia reflex setting helps with this but I shouldn't have to sacrifice a substantial amount of frames for this)
-
Holding W before closing menus doesn't cause you to move. Similarly, pressing W too soon before closing menus causes a slow ramp up in speed.
-
Sprinting animation is jarring and over the top, though other animations are looking/feeling great, notably the first person melee attacks.
-
Character leans really far back when moving backwards, seems a bit weird..
-
Character moving a bit more after you stop moving is pretty annoying and makes it feel unresponsive.
-
Option to pause the game automatically when tabbing out would be nice.
-
Something is causing shelves to knock their books off, the ability to move items and place them is also terrible so you can't even tidy up the books :c
-
If you're above or below a character when talking to them the camera will snap quite sharply.
-
Z fighting on banners in the arena.
-
Summoned Xivilai t-posing after combat.
-
Pop up messages continue to play for way too long if you have alot of them (Such as with harvesting ingredients)
Humble Request
Please can we have some sort of mass gathering of nearby ingredients?
It's actually causing me pain..
seeing your body in first person, its not a huge issue but seeing shadows of your quiver and not you is jarring lol
-
First and foremost is performance, it's acceptable on my system, but it should be running alot better, it's mainly the stutters as opposed to the actual framerate, spikes rather often when moving around
-
enemy scaling? It would be nice to not see bandits in glass/daedric at higher levels, maybe put those items in the boss chests or even just give the ringleader/final boss some good stuff? It kind of breaks immersion seeing them decked out in all this gear
-
personal preference, but BACKPACKS! please give us some backpacks with some feather enchantments or something!
-
sprint animation looks kind of goofy, not a huge deal but it looks so weird in some places!
Thanks for this amazing game!!!
-MORROWIND MODE
No Level Scaling, Leveled lists/leveled loot
More unique items and enemies in the overworld
-Increased Emergent Gameplay
Lockpicking traps
more interesting things to lockpick in overworld ala Morrowind
more dynamic combat
-More unique dungeons and puzzles
Puzzles with multiple solutions, like melting a frozen wall vs shattering it with a big hammer
-Alternative quest routes
-More quests
-Add all cut content from Oblivion of which there is a LOT
-Possibly try and bring back the famous "Mythical beta AI" with the "DYNAMIC RADIANT AI that can go wild" and "NPCS training and improving"
Generally, from Bethesda/Virtuous the best thing is core gameplay improvements relying on the improved engine and skills rather than Skyrim style creation club content. No one is praising Oblivion for simplistic enemy and AI design, but something more akin to a modern action game would be fantastic
I'd love a difficulty between adept and expert
Pls Mod Support on consoles. ā¤ļø
When using the quick menu you're character can't move which is annoying when you're in the middle of combat so I'd appreciate if we could at least move around since the left stick isn't being used for the quick menu
I think a great addition would be to allow to pause the game during dialogue
Starfield got more detailed maps, colour/HDR update and vehicles added in updates hopefully we can get similar updates to Oblivion soon, gonna hold off myself till they fix the difficulty setting
I can't turn off auto save despite the options being there to do so. It is bugged please fix it
HUD SETTINGS: ideally an on/off/dynamic switch for each hud element.
SURVIVAL MODE: just like fallout 4, but probably make the saving and fast travel limitations optional as that puts a lot of people off (not me) also have it separate from difficulty like Skyrim. Would need a craft able bed roll we can keep in our inventories too.
BUILDABLE HOMES: the more creative we can be the better and itās like free marketing because people love to show off their builds.
SMITHING: would be pretty cool to be able to create weapons & armour.
PETS: I want to build a house and have a cat when Iām done closing oblivion gates.
Another thing I forgot to mention is a bug Iāve been getting when switching from a torch to my bow with a shield equipped. The shield ends up in my left hand alongside the bow, and when I aim the bow the shield blocks my view! Can only be fixed by un-equipping the shield.
Can difficulty presets be fine tuned please? Ideally something in between adept and expert, where you take a lot of damage, but also deal a lot of damage! This would make the gameplay feel a little more intense and less like two sponges with toothpicks whacking at each other.
Also, Iām finding the controls feel unresponsive on PC. Sometimes Iāll hit the interact key and my character will do two actions at once? For example, Iāll start the speech craft mini game and tell a joke/admire at the same time. Not game breaking, but annoying!
Further, with an Xbox controller on PC, the d pad appears to have a āturboā mode enabled by default? If I press the d pad shortcut for quick save, the game will try to quick save like 4 times!
Can we get a āKEYRINGā like in fallout and Skyrim please
Also can you guys please fix the difficult settings, the Jump from adept to Expert is a bit ridiculous
Iām either too strong or too weak
And finally weapons scaling
Having to purposely put off getting unique weapons until youāre higher level so they arenāt useless later on is frustrating
Overall, very impressed with the game, great work. I've got a few suggestions, firstly the high elf, the dark elf and the wood elf eyes need to be spaced further apart, they all look immensely strange as they are too close together. Secondly the sprint animation needs some adjusting, specifically the arms flaying about, arch the arms more towards the body, furthermore, when sprinting with a shield, make sure it isn't flaying around to, it's a heavy shield. Honestly these are my only suggestions and are rather small fixes.
Another one for difficulty slider adjustments! Need this ASAP
Happens to me too. Another "fix" is to scroll to third person and back to first. But I hope they fix this.
-
HUD Toggle Button for PC
-
Photo Mode in pause menu or a spell
-
Ability to Congratulate the developers at Virtuos and Bethesda on what an excellent job they have done (you guys deserve more praise than you're already getting
Please let me open favourites menu while holding block. Currently character stops blocking when favourites menu is open.
Let us modify our own HUD so we can remove hitmarkers, remove white outlines around loot, ugly black boxes etc. All that feels too much like ESO and would make the game much better without it
- Console mods for sure, I can't tell you how much they extended my playtime in Skyrim and I'd love to have the same experience in Oblivion
- An NPC that allows you to change your appearance
- I really dislike the design of khajiit and argonians with their super thick snouts. They look like furry dinosaurs and lions instead of lizards and cats.
- The ui that puts a black box with white text in the middle of the screen feels bad and too modern. I also prefer the old menu colour which look like aged parchment instead of fresh.
- Is there really no way to preload interiors when the player is near to reduce loading screen times?
Difficulty settings need some adjustment. Adept is far too easy, while Expert is unnecessarily hard. It would be great to return to the original's separate sliders for damage taken and damage dealt multipliers.
Also, passive health regeneration should be a toggle in difficulty settings.
Yeah there needs to a in between of Adept and Expert, the jump is too extreme and frankly feels broken.
Restoration of some cut content and mods for xbox would be nice. Also the difficulty spike between adept and expert is insane
I'm generally pretty happy with the remaster. I only have minor quibbles really:
- Make vampire faces actually look different, like they did in the original game.
- Bring back first-person view on horseback (or at least fix it so that if you mount in FPV, you return to that when you dismount).
- Add an option to disable visibility of the location names/footsteps that appear under the compass when looking in their direction. Kinda ruins the sense of discovery while exploring if you can see what everything is.
- Please re-add the separated item sub-categories in the inventory! It's a nightmare trying to find items now that they're all jumbled together.
- Add a photo mode, or at least a way to completely disable visibility of the HUD so we can take pictures.
- Make the local map open by default when indoors, and add a hotkey to access it. I actually thought local maps had been removed until I inadvertently zoomed into the world map.
- Let us select things in menus with the action key (E) please.
- Please show our character's Origin in the character menu.
- Please add a face sculptor-type service to the game.
- Extremely trivial, but it bugs me that the medium difficulty option is named "Adept" not "Journeyman". Just a weird little inconsistency with the rest of the game.
I would like a way to switch to the local map without having to scroll in every time I check it. There could be a button to instantly swap between the overworld map and the local map, or show the local map automatically when not in the overworld.
Some way to actually use the levelled loot you acquire from quests early on in the later game would be nice. Maybe have them scale with the player's level or go to a blacksmith and have them upgraded to your current level.
+1 for legacy Oblivion vibrant greens lighting/CC as an option. You guys (Virtuos) already added something similar for MGS Delta so it shouldn't be hard
Performance
Improvements to the difficulties
Imporvements to pathing
New quest DLC (I would pay)
(I'm playing on master, and while true to the original it feels slow, even though I thouroughly enjoy the extra caution necessary for survival)
Better difficulty options, that mean ability to change following values : damage dealt/damage taken
Dear god release an update to take care of the fps issues
There needs to be an in between for Adept and Expert difficulty.
A KEYRING like in fallout would be nice.
Weapon scaling is a problem also
If I get Umbra early game itās useless before long.
Something like survival mode damage in fallout would be absolutely amazing
Please fix the oblivion gates opening early bug and the tall characters canāt fit through doorways bug
Love the game. Just would like a change to the fonts of the subtitles and menu points should be the same font as ingame
Amazing so far, just a few things:
-Performance optimisations
-Photo mode pretty pls
-Some difficulty rebalancing (adept is too easy, expert is too hard)
Fix: Low FPS, Stutter, Unbalanced Difficulty, Load Menu Shows Wrong Level, Make The Menu Button Show The System Page First, Change The Sprint Animation To Be Less Goofy, Fix The Clipping In The Legs Wearing Robes
UI options:
.Toggle hit marker
.Toggle old minimalist enemy health indicator
.Option for OG colour palette on UI, so the compass gives the same information as the original game and all UI being the same sepia kinda colour. Don't enjoy Skyrim-like black and white UI that ESO also uses
.Smaller and tucked away health/magika/stamina bars
. Separate local and main map
. Remove white outline on items - again, don't want to play ESO
Visuals:
. It's been said loads already, but deffo an OG colour palette option for the whole world, including oblivion realm and shivering isles
. Better, more dense and lush forests
.Please optimise lol
.What have you done to our Martin
Gameplay:
. Please bring back first-person horse riding!
.Sprinting animations are mental
. Could maybe do a bit more to modernise the combat? Just a bit more heft with swings and maybe more involved combat systems like in Kingdom Come Deliverance - possibly could be optional
Extra stuff:
.I know the game engine and AI might have a fit, but I always wanted to see actual ships sailing around like in the original intro, or at least give us an option to man a row boat or even just have it be a form of RP friendly fast travel
.Option to go back to original voice actors? Probably not very popular this suggestion
. If we are keeping new voice actors though, that gives us more options for officially voiced quests?
.finally, this is random but I had a mod on the original game that put Agarmir's house up for sale after the 'Unfriendly Competition' quest. Could maybe do this for other people who die during quests?
.Survival mode
.plz fix bugs
.More arena spectators! Want it to be a wall of noise
- Pause while hotkey wheel is open (this helps controller players most), this would be an even better addition to my suggestions from earlier regarding hotkeys
Have a dedicated button for the manipulation of objects.
When I am trying to open a container or loot a body it takes a few keyboard presses for it to open instead of grabbing the item
This 100%. Suggestions on realistic things that can and should be improved.
- difficulty slider adjustments (please give us two sliders, one for damage taken and one for damage dealt)
- way to modify characterās appearance later on like the sculptor in skyrim
- mappable dodge button
Vampires should arrive at night time when fast travelling
HDR support
Can you give a.m or p.m or 24 hours format in a waiting menu? I don't know if it's only in polish language... it's confusing
I'd like to see level scaling enemies limited to named bosses. Once you hit the highest level enemies on levelled lists you hit a point where continuing to level will just make the game harder without adding any extra content
Space to continue/accept instead of enter or an option atleast
- When nearly drowning, a weird bubble effect surrounds the player even afterwards
- Player run speed feels too fast. Run should be between the current walking and running speed, and sprint speed should be between the current running and sprinting speed.
There is a mod for this but it really should have been a standard function: Need to unlock Markers in order to Fast Travel instead of having them unlocked at the beginning, thus being able to traverse to all major cities from the start.
Adding some cut content or new content in general would be amazing. I will buy another dlc if you make one.
Hotkey to bring up local map rather than zone map and having to zoom in would be massive, thanks team ā¤ļø
Bugs/oversights I've noticed:
- I've got map markers for Oblivion gates appearing, despite no gate being there. I haven't reached Kvatch yet. I've also seen some people having them spawn right outside the tutorial sewer. Was this intentionally changed?
- Casting Light spells doesn't work at all in first-person view. You have to go into third-person for the light orb to actually spawn.
- There's a weird delay between casting certain spells and the effects occurring, such as when summoning Bound Weapons.
- Now that doors are animated, you can actually see into the void/under terrain/inside buildings when they open. They don't seem to have the black boxes behind them that are used in Skyrim to obscure this.
- Whenever I go outside, my character always seems to drop from some distance above the ground.
- Whenever I start the lockpicking game, it makes the sound of a lockpick breaking. Not sure if this is intentional, but it's confusing IMO.
- NPCs seem to just stop and stand still randomly, in a way that they didn't do in the original game.
- NPCs who stop on stairs can't be pushed out of the way when I'm trying to go up them. Got stuck somewhere because of this.
The run speed is fine, the animation is fine, leave it alone. Genuinely
Option : Remastered astmosphere / Legacy atmosphere. To let bring back old vibrant color.
Absolutely loving the game, big props to the devs for such a faithful but revamped experience!
Some suggestions though:
The enchanting / spellmaking menus are very clunky, and sometimes seem to lock up unexpectedly.
Creation club / modded content would massively extend the games lifetime for console.
Enemy level scaling could do with some tweaking - no more bandits in daedric armour etc.
I would happily pay for a bunch of new, high quality quests.
Adept should be 5-10% more difficult, and expert should be 10-15% less difficult.
Thank you! ā¤ļø
There is a "squeaky" sound every few seconds while running around in armor, strangely enough I don't remember hearing it at the start of my playthrough. Might be a bug. Its very annoying though (I am reminded of the squeaky boots spongebob episode)
100% chameleon shouldn't be a thing, Bethesda used to patch out stuff like this when it was doing support for original release (e.g. weakness to magic affecting positive effects). if this exploit became known years ago, it would be patched
why not? Patching out stuff like this sucks. I liked it back then and i like it now. Bethesda patching out the fun in single player games is the exact problem they have with the new releases. also it is not an exploit. they even made you really invisible, that had to be a concious decision
Although I wrote a message yesterday with many suggestions, I would like to emphasize on one issue/bug:
-NPCs AI navigation: They are completely broken. I even compared to the original game and those issues are not present.
I've seen two enemies inside a castle trying to move to attack me through a gate while the gate was closed. I've seen many NPCs completely stuck inside stores doing nothing. I've seen NPCs in the street talking, ending their dialogue and being immobile after that.
I think navigation is completely broken, and as I said those issues were not present in the original, at least not so noticeable.
This issue is directly preventing me from enjoying the game and I prefer to wait till it is fixed.
Also another bug I've just remembered. I went to a store, max money of the vendor were 50 coins. And I was unable to sell many items at the same time because the price was bigger than those 50 coins. But I was able to sell all of them individually.
Shouldn't money from vendor decrease after you have sold something??
Iām disappointed that first person horse riding has seemingly been removed, Iām unsure if it was for a technical reason, but Iād love to see it added back in if possible
What about German language? You still have the recordings from the original, many would be happy to have their native language as an spoken option
Hey all! Disclaimer, I'm ecstatic that the remaster is out and am loving it ā„ļø I appreciate the team's hard work!!!!! But a few bugs / feature suggestions:
- I've also noticed a bug regarding Oblivion gates: I've got the markers, I can see the gates, but I still have the amulet of Kings in my pocket, they aren't supposed to spawn yet
- Would love the option to turn off combat music
- My character has no shadow. My bow, my sword, my staff have shadows, but I do not
(this is in first person view) - Saw a guard in Cheydinhal making the rounds and he got stuck on a rock, oops. Tried to nudge him, but no luck. I noticed the same thing with mages in the city guilds
- Would love to be able to tweak my character after leaving the sewers. The torchlight kinda makes it look different compared to dayllight
- I get the sound of a lockpick breaking when I start the minigame. Before I even move the lockpick, feels odd
German VoiceOver and Option for original Color Schema, so it Looks Like spring and Not Autumn. (Xbox User)
Seconding suggestions for an optional survival mode. In addition, besides fixing major bugs like Salvian getting stuck or the Vampire Hunters faction quest still being bugged, if weāre considering actual gameplay additions my wish would be for additional Vampire gameplay, maybe small vampire clans ala Morrowind. The total pipe dream is added Lycanthropy/Werelions.
Make unique leveled items/spells scale up with you. There is already a mod that does this and the game should do it by default. Or just set every scaled unique to its max at all times. Also dualsense haptics on PC, proper analog movement, and native HDR support and calibration.
Player character height appears to be bugged in some cases. My Bosmer is much taller than other Bosmer. https://www.xbox.com/play/media/au9b9aPShC
guys, can you give a thumbs up or thumbs down so i can see waht do you think
- Would you want to change the sprinting animation?
Me and my friend are arguing if it's bad, or quirky in a fun way xd
Character Creation Improvements:
- Add an "Archetypes" section for randomising characters within boundaries, possibly presented as a grid consisting of the X Axis "Aged", "Average", and "Youthful" and the Y axis being "Mage", "Theif" and "Warrior"
For example, an Old Mage might give variations on the Gandalf/Merlin-esque characters, Thief is somebody more dark and slender and Warriors might be Rough and heroic looking
- "Creative Randomness" slider for how goofy the random characters look (eg using extreme ends of the sliders more or less)
Another kinda trivial suggestion but would be neat to have:
Any chance you could give Manipulate Weather, Summon Haskill, and Sheogorath's Protection unique icons, like the unused ones in the original game?
-Only one suggestion from me: as a pc player i can solve this through mods but for console players this won't be possible. I would love if there was just another QoL change along the new awesome leveling system: please let us disable level scaling of mobs. It was what moat of us really disliked in oblivion, not very immersive or motivating to find out that you are effectively leveling your enemies besides yourself.
-Blood splatters in the arena would need some love
Fix level scaling to be more like skyrim, or region locked entirely
Performance mode on Series S
Poison damage is currently bugged. The damage doesn't change with difficulty settings. Please fix š
It's outright awful, feels janky and ridiculous. So absolut yes
as we all know, Oblivion has never been janky OR ridiculous
I like the idea of some in world process to bring unique items you own up to your current level, maybe by awakening their power, especially for cool unique items you get early on that generate at a low level
Could we have the option to turn off passive healing? I don't necessarily want it removed entirely if people want it but I'd like to be able to toggle it off to be more similar to the original release.
Pet mudcrab plz
I was surprised to see that they didn't add the quickloot menu from Fallout 4/76. Would be really nice to have that.
Id like more beard options including the ability to remove them off khajiit entirely. Let me braid my cats mane.
Intermediary difficulty between Adept (too easy) and Expert (too hard). Or maybe a slide option.
A couple more things:
Important: the foliage looks... scarce? I think it's due to using individual leaves instead of green patches like the original. Most trees have too few leaves in its branches, way fewer than actual trees would have. This is especially noticeable with the broadleaves and an upright willow. Some trees like birches have oversized leaves. This all results in foliage that doesn't look lush at all. There's also no volume to it. Maybe at just a little bit of thickness when the leaf is viewed from the side? And lastly, the LODs of trees basically remove the tiniest leaves on the periphery, which further damages the overall feel
Somewhat significant: When there's a thunderstorm, I want it to feel like a torrential rain, if possible. Now it feels more like a drizzle.
Would be cool to see: lightnings are very neat! it can be slightly improved - currently the lightning stays for too long. It should instead broken up into multiple lightnings with the same shape: a short foreshock, the main shock, and a few afterschocks, all in a very rapid succession. That would make it look super realistic!
120GB is too much, please block the highest resolution textures behind a "free texture pack dlc" wall, so we can download the game without them
Iāve noticed that the āspiritsā in the remaster are no longer see-through. An example would be the spirits of the Knights of the Nine, in the original game they were translucent and you could see things through them. Now those NPCs just glow white but are completely opaque and look graphically worse than the originals. Could this be improved? See-through NPCs are in already this remaster (such as NPCs with invisibility spells) so could the spirit NPCs be made closer to how they used to look? Thank you
Please make third person running look less ice skatingy
Please have a keybind for CANCELLING a bow shot I press R to bring the radial wheel up as a fix right now but I'd love a proper keybind
Iāve not played much but
-dual weilding please
-water physics
- more favourite spots/tabs kinda like the Skyrim wheeler mod ā¤ļø
-also itās minor but can the āgiveth lightā spell be more like a on/off spell and make it brighter ā¤ļø - OH ALSO, female character voices please.
- also agree on a map marker for cleared dungeons.
Hello!
A few things I noticed:
The steel axe occasionally has some parts of the texture that go invisible
The player character does not seem to take on the traits of their race's height and build. My male nord is the same height as an imperial for instance
The difficulty settings need adjustment
I would also request you add a toggle for the popup that shows whenever your crosshair appears over a dungeon or other place
Allow us to turn off the cross hair please!
There should be some kind of Face Sculpture like in Skyrim because the character creator has really bad lighting and your character looks nothing like you think it does.
Performance is performance, everyone has said enough about it .
My few suggestions are;
- On PC replace enter with interact key to pick up single item on loot screen (similar to controller scheme).
- Show current encumberment when looting.
- Go back to same location in our inventory when tabbing between merchant inventory and our inventory. I have to scroll back to my items every time I modify the haggle slider.
- Hide horse name when riding it.
- Ability to cancel bow shots.
- Option to hide HUD
- IMO The sprint animation is janky (has anybody tried sprinting up hill when looking down in 3rd person?)
- If I could only choose one right now, PLEASE add a cleared icon/text to cleared dungeons/locations.
Please god, if you're listening give me more natural hair color options. The bosmer are meant to have black hair canonocally... but the darkest I can get is a mid toned brown. š if I can have green hair pls give me black too
kill cam
Shift clicking a stack of items should transfer them all instantly instead of showing a dialogue of quantity selection. Optionally, control clicking should take only one.
In the location "Unmarked Cave", there is a sub-level called "Unmarked Cave Black Queen's Hall", in this area there is a rock door that has been glitched for 20 years, preventing access to the final area of the cave. Please let the door open:\
- Console mods
- Appearance changer
- Unique Item level scaling (just scales up unique items to the players level)
Is there a bug with status effects visual not disappearing?
I think that the Xbox Series S version is not running very good. Maybe we could get more option so that the performance could be enhanced
Yes it happened to me, got lit on fire by the goblin witch in the sewers and became super saiyan
Console mods
but that'll release the ghost of Umarked Cave, that rock door is the only thing saving every copy of Oblivion from being haunted.
Toggable difficulty where you can remove level scaling or keep it og. Also limit rare arms and armor to suitable places no more daedric wearing bandits.
Way to level up previously acquired uniques.
Blacksmithing system from Skyrim.
Dual wielding could be fun too.
Survival mode
Creation club for console players.
Werebears
Would bƩ cool to have a different kind of difficulty, i want to deal more damages to ennemies and take more from them. Lower difficulties make me immortal and higher make the ennemies too boring to kill.
Make the difficulty make everyone more easy to kill including me
Bring back first person horse riding
Add horseback combat too plz
I love the look of all armors with an exception. The Blackwood Armor should be darker than it is currently it's currently steel armor with a decal slapped on. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE darken the blackwood company armor to match it's original counterpart. It's also worth mentioning the shoulders are missing detail that was present on the original asset (See here: https://youtu.be/qrLOg_yofgQ?t=112).

french voices.
original had both german and french voices, bring them back
Please allow an option to toggle step counter to the quest, and please make it so when I'm on a horse it doesn't come up with the name when I'm in third person
An in depth smithing system with creation of alloys, forging and melting of some misc items eg silver goblets, letting players feel like they are more attached to there weapons and for more customisation of said weapons.

photomode and creations for us console playersš
Mannequins/armor stands and interactable weapon racks for player homes
And my final complaint (definitely not): why the hell does the sun go North during the day I stead of South??? Not having it over our heads is indeed an improvement, but let it hang over the southern horizon and not over Skyrim
Option to keep the Unicorn as a proper mount if you decide to not finish Hircines quest, able to be armored like any other horse (and making it so it doesnāt attack you if you decide to not be pacifist)
Dual welding like it would be cool as a spellsword to have a sword in 1 hand and a staff in the other
Please please fix the constant awful stutter and lag spikes before you do anything else
"Cleared" text for dungeons please
Mod support on console with the maximum amount of GB of space you can do and itāll live another 10-12 years
A downloadable legacy voice pack please. I miss the old voices so much.
Everything like discord reddit ect is full of libtards because they just remove/ban anything that goes against there make belief so they can create their echo chambers
A slight change to the aging slider would be nice and retroactively for npc's using it as it makes skin textures look super grainy and jarring looking.
Would it be possible to add more variety to the interiors of caves/forts by adjusting the lighting?
In the original Oblivion the forts were all quite reddy/brown and the caves were greeny/blue. Now theyāve switched and the forts have blue lighting and the caves are more red (if there are torches) or blue, not green any more.
Would it be possible to add some variety to both by having some caves more green (like the classic caves) and making some forts more red/brown like the originals (keep many as blue also). That would hopefully be an easy way of giving some more variety to the caves/dungeons in the game, using lighting.
Need to fix the difficulty modifiers. It would be better to bring back the slider like in the old games because the jump is too large right now
Adept is way way too easy
Expert is too difficult
Good suggestion but dungeons don't clear in oblivion. In exactly 3 days, everything inside will respawn again. Both enemies and loot. It's not like Skyrim, so there is no point.
If they remake the respawn mechanic to have dungeons ACTUALLY be cleared, then it makes sense.
Add a first person camera when riding horses š“
They all respawn and regenerate. Besides unique designed ones.
Wanted QOL Changes, that weren't in the original:
- Option to disable the prompt when asking to buy or sell something
- Option to disable the prompt when trying to poison a weapon
- Allowing prompts to be navigated by wasd and interact to choose option
- visible Pickpocket chance
Things I miss from the original:
- Always grouping spells by major/minor power
- Pressing the map key while hovering a quest should open it on the map directly
I think the most important thing now is, bring back the original color palette, and an optimization update (the optimization is acceptable, but if it was a little better, it would give it a lot of added quality)
Difficulty needs tweaked, adept is far to easy and expert/master is only possible with summons and kiting
If you could somehow make it PSVR2 compatible that would be the dream, but I guess it's technically very difficult to do.
I'd settle for a Skyrim PSVR2 port though, that game was a blast on PSVR1 eventhough it was really basic.
Keyboard:
M key opens the map, it should also close the map.
E/Space needs to be able to replace Enter for prompts.
Can we please get an option to remove the forced beard/mane from khajiit if we don't want it?
Some way to change character appearance after leaving the sewers. Not console commands, something that works on all platforms.
Oblivion Feedback
- Fix Steam cloud saves for desktop and steamdeck
- Adjust Adept difficulty
- Pulling up the hot key wheel should pause time
- Floating quest markers (e.g.) above doors and npcs
- Show markers elevation above or below the players current location
- Horse whistle power
- When returning to a location, have the name of the location appear instead in the top right corner instead of in the middle of the screen
- Readjust character later after the tutorial
Suggestions backed up by gamers looking for the crispiest visual presentation, seen across HDR, SK and Ultra+ discords.
HDR implementation - Reno/the forced one is already super impactful so itās a no brainer
Ray Reconstruction together with better Hardware Lumen coverage - to fill in the gaps in visual presentation such as boiling noise and weird large reflections.
Better hardware raytracing implementation, up to full RT similar to Wukongās to futureproof the presentation.
Fix SSR fallback when HW Lumen is on
Automatic Dlss4 J/K preset for the SR piece
Character Creation presets make them fully modable/able to be saved and shared so modding community thrives with their ideas.
- Make All Weapons And Armor Scale With Player Level And Give The Option To Remove Enchantments
Came here specifically to advocate for for an adjustment / change to the difficulty slider. We need something between "adept" and "expert", as currently expert is already extremely difficult. I think lowering adept to halfway between the two and bringing master down to where expert is now would be the best.
Still waiting the fix of the wizard tower purchase issue on the xbox store from the original game š š¤£
Hi everyone, I have a bug on the Azani Blackheart quest. The NPC in the dungeon never talks to me.
you cannot just "remove" level scaling. Like which level do you want the world to be?
a decent solution is to embed the "levelling quick fix" mod, which basically makes low lvl stuff not disappear from levelled lists. As a side effect, glass\daedric becomes just a little less common, but mainly you can still feel strong by fighting old weaker enemies sometimes
- I think level scaling should be more like in Skyrim with minimum and maximum levels for different quests, dungeons and regions.
- Unique artifacts and spells should scale or have a fixed level.
- The difficulty should be tweaked - adept is too easy and expert is too hard.
- Add sub-categories to inventory lists (i.e.: Potions, ingredients, and tools shouldn't be all mixed together)
- Additional control adjustments (i.e.: Dead Zone adjustments would be nice) On Xbox
- Hotkey specific items or spells to the D Pad. Those shortcuts to menus are nice, but I think I would use those buttons more if I could insta-cast spells without needing to switch to them.
Hi folks, a friendly reminder to please not hold any conversations in this channel. This makes it easier for the developers to navigate through, thanks!
Please add ability to dual wield melee weapons. Also add a simple hotkey option to switch between weapon sets, ie make it easier to switch from melee to bow/range for example, etc
a way to change your character appearance once you exit the sewers would be much appreciated, also i don't know how hard it would be but being able to dual wield daggers and swords would be incredible
Dialogue wishes:
- Navigating with wasd on keyboard, and interact to choose dialogue option
- Hotkeys for opening THE WHEELā¢ļø and closing dialogue
- Option to zoom the camera even further while in dialogue
- Navigating THE WHEELā¢ļø with wasd and interact
Please developers, have a look over menu controls, especially on PC/Mouse and Keyboard.
For example, let me select items in menus with "E"/the activation key, instead of only Enter. At the very least, let us change the keybinds for this in the keybind menu.
Also, in containers: When pressing the "loot everything" key, close the menu even if there is nothing to loot. Right now, this will only leave the container menu if you loot at least one item, otherwise it doesn't do anything.
And on the map, add a keybind to open local map. In the original the local map was its extra entry in the journal, now the only ways to access it are zooming in for several seconds or pressing a tiny button on the side, both very annoying.
One thing that would be nice: Have the game make an automatic quicksave just before you leave the server, just as Fallout 3 does just before you leave the vault, which brings up the options to change race, class etc upon reload.
Havenāt tested with other armors yet, but wearing Iron Gauntlets with Leather Armor causes floating hands in first person
Give us back the original colors, the redish filter makes it look like a different game, not good olā original oblivion.
āFixā the problem with the unique items scaling. Gave them all in a fixed level, or make them level up with you.
Make vampires not take damage in the sun, more akin to the skyrim or ESO ones. Vampirism in oblivion was always ābadā due this, is a big con that makes all the other pros go away.
Make enemies weapons stay on their corpses.
Fix fortify alchemy, it still doesnāt affect the potions made.
Weightless arrows! Im a loot goblin, let me pick up them all.
An erase spell option for player created spells.
More charges by default for enchanted items, they lost their power too fast.
Mod support for console
I'm seeing people upload pics without the yellowish filter. A more vibrant option would be nice to have as a toggle
Barber shop
A few presents when making a character
Add all missing language for voice, french, german, spanish, etc ..
Press "e" to pickup items while looting instead of "space"
Disable or enable hitmarkers
Disable or enable the white light around pickable item on the ground
Rework walk and sprint animation, at least the sprint animation
Color Palette and everything Else is irrelevant. We need officiall Mod Support as soon as possible. Im pretty confident that they will hear us cause its the Most requested Feature
- New customisation options (I love the updates to the character creator, but it is so difficult to make a young-looking male)
- Give QoL changes to vampirism & maybe rework it to function more like Skyrim, taking damage in the sun is just an annoyance, not a fun gameplay feature
Khajiit did not have extra fur around the jaw in the original Oblivion, and they have never been forced to look like this in any other game.
There's nothing wrong with it, I'd just prefer to remove it. It's just a suggestion for the devs.
Add official VR mode and keep improving upon it. Can do it with UEVR atm, but there's so much more potential if you can get a dedicated passionate team to do it.
Shelf inventory for easy book placement in your house, like in Skyrim (don't mind if there's a special UI for this)
Fixing the bug with all the rendering and lighting loading in every time you leave the menu or through a door should be the priority, it significantly impacts the atmosphere of the game.
Pls fix the difficulty
Begging for a survival mode with access on all difficulties. Perhaps added penalties etc for higher difficulties regarding weight management, off set by the buffs gained for successful needs management.
Eg) Long-term acculmative buffs. For being well fed, hydrated, energy.
- Well fed: Stamina regen + bonuses
- Well rested: magicka regen + bonuses.
(Seperate buffs that add onto alchemy system)
Would be great to see more information on items being picked up in the world. Once an item is in your inventory, you can deduce if itās heavy armor or light for example. Let me do that on the enemy corpse
Slow motion/pause while using the quick select wheel would be pretty cool
A way to own multiple horses would be nice and keep them all in a single place.
Weightless arrows would be neat
I would like mod support for Xbox and better performance on PC. I have a better end PC with a amd radeon rx 7600 and I notice frame rate issues. I see mods for it but since I don't have the Steam version I can't get the mods. So mod support and performance updates are my biggest issues at the moment
Before you start adding things to the game, there are already a lot of bugs to fix. (This list is just what I saw)
-
The light spell doesn't launch in 1st person, you have to switch to 3rd person for it to launch. Sometimes the light doesn't disappear after the duration of the spell.
-
Visual effects on characters are buggy. I've seen characters on fire several minutes after a fight, water bubbles when I'm not swimming, or my character glowing when the shield spell effect has long since stopped.
-
I often get a horrible bug when I open my inventory. The game's textures turn all black, my character is invisible and a giant hemisphere with test assets appears above the imperial city... Have to restart the game if I want to continue to play
-
The difficulty slider has clearly not been tested. The medium difficulty is far too simple, killing everything in one shot at the start of the game, but switch the difficulty to expert and we're the ones who get killed in 2 shots.
-
The size of the player doesn't change depending on the race, although I've seen some very small Bosmers in the imperial city š
-
The fact that you can't change certain elements of the UI, such as the names of places targeted by the compass, with the distance indicated as well (horrible idea).
-
There are also physics bugs with static objects in buildings that move by themselves when you walk into a place.
i would like to know whether i cleared a dungeon or not. There should be a prompt like "XY cleared" after i cleared a dungeon. And then it should be shown in the map that i cleared it, like in Skyrim
Please on TALOS add fishing in this game :)
Hiya there's a new remastered bug where khajiit tails don't show when wearing mage robes and a lot of clothing items. Wasn't sure where to put it. They show up in the original game.
Movement speed is too fast. You only get three modes which is walk, jog or sprint. As athletics/speed skills increase, movement speed is too quick. Can analogue movement be added where you can gradually increase your speed when using a joystick, similar to Skyrim? In fact I think 2006 Oblivion had analogue movement on controller. Otherwise, having an amazing time. Incredible job here!
Getting bad preformance nomatter what graphics settings i use. 3080 ti, 7840u 32gb ram please optimize.
Favourite menu like in skyrim. We have the wheel, but I really like the Skyrim favourites menu that lets you add a bunch of items/spells so you do not need to sift through your inventory.
PS5 base performance is my only gripe 2bh
Capes and cloaks please! Would be cool as a QoL visual upgrade.
Also, it would be accurate for adventurers to have adequate clothing for warmth and protection.
I would like to be able to have a spell on one hand and a weapon on the other, I dont enjoy seeing the player cast a spell with his hand holding a weapon with the same handš
I think the rain looks really ugly, idk how to fix it though
The difficulty definitely needs fixed. There is no available rational difficulty, you either deal no damage and take huge damage or you deal huge damage and take no damage.
I know this has been asked before, but an official VR mode / release especially including PSVR2 would be awesome.
Please port to PSVR2 PlayStation
Very impressed with the remaster, having a blast.
- Sprinting animation is kinda goofy, maybe change it
- Maybe some i-frames for dodge, some attack hitframes are way too big and dodging feels a bit weak in 3rd person melee combat.
- Option to disable crosshair icons and crosshair entirely.
- Rework difficulty scaling, vanilla Oblivion's system was never good lol
which one specifically?
Rework some of the spells - looking right at you āBound Xā or basically a majority of the spells are generally deemed useless.
Perhaps scaling duration and damage/armour depending on conjugation level?
The ability to turn off always on crosshair please
A survival mode similar to starfield or fallout 4
Reduce the size of the foot farts. Aka the dirt clouds from NPCs walking. Everyone looks like pigpen from Charlie Brown
Add size differentiation based on race for the main character.
Add an alternative tonemapping that stays true to the original (but not as bright): blueish, greenish, colder hue with better/higher contrast.
BUG: When voice files are missing (or corrupt?), the sub titles aren't shown long enough to be able to read them (e.g. Anvil quest). Waiting for pressing a key or a button would fix this for me.
THIS. You can tell the developers put SO MUCH work into the character creation. Let us continue to enjoy it after the sewers!
A UI prompt or highlight when picking something up to let you know what your current carrying capacity is. If possible also highlighting how it will change if you pick the item up.
is it just me or outline for looting items feels out of place for an elder scrolls game? vote thumbs up\down on my message
Fix the NPC AI/pathing. NPC get stuck/stop acting too often
- The option to customise khajiit beards on character creation.
- More/different coloured potion icons, would be nice for the healing potions to be visually distinct from the magicka potions for instance.
- Character seems to default to having their fists up in the character menu, regardless of the equipped weapon.
Female voices for our characters
Dual wielding
Water physics please
Map symbols saying weāve cleared a dungeon.
Something in item description that saying what items can be used for crafting
Until they fix this, you can download a mod that turns off the hud, the outlines, the glow (all separately) on nexus mods
⢠Difficulty on Expert is too high.
Please adjust or add another between Adept and Expert.
The ultimate addition to the game would be ability to seamlessly switch between old and new assets with a button press like in Halo Anniversary Collection. We know you have the entire original files in there.
- Add options to turn off the quest marker, footstep counter, and name of the nearby location from the compass (each a separate toggle)
- Fix Starlight (doesnāt have any effect in first person, need to go in 3rd person for it to properly cast)
- Disable torches underwater
- Add the paintbrush glitch back in š
- Better analog controls when using a controller (currently only has walking or running, should be gradual)
Rather than just tweaking numbers for difficulty settings, I'd like to see specific changes like protecting NPCs along with Starfield's custom difficulty stuff (like adjusting carry weight in exchange for experience gain rate).
A rework to the difficulty needs to be implemented. At adept you deal a suitable amount of damage to enemies that keeps combat fast paced however you take almost no damage yourself. At expert the enemies are sponges and take very little damage while they deal a suitable damage to you. Ideally for me and I believe others would be a difficulty where you maintain the damage your players does at adept, but receives the damage you take at expert.
I would pay $100 for a VR mode
We need a way to change LUT's in game since mods won't be officially supported as of now. Could have a classic look more like the original color palette, and or a sepia tone, etc. and a photo mode and or way to turn off HUD entirely
I would love an option to switch between the remaster and OG graphics like in the RealMyst game from back in the day
My suggestion is to do the same for Morrowind š
I believe others have mentioned that adept is way too easy and expert is way too hard, it'd be cool if they were tweaked to be harder and easier respectively
Hello I am new, been decades since I genuinely loved a game ā¤ļø
- simple horse combat (swing sword, use bow, throw a spell)
- that cool kill cam from skyrim! (maybe a slider setting to control frequency?)
- Throwing knives! and maybe a exotic one that returns to you
- elemental arrows and simple weapon crafting (fire sword, poison arrow, AOE lightning throwing knife)
(Not sure if there are in the game im new)
Love the remaster so much
Some feedback for PS5
- Separate Alchemy equipment or make it a menu button
- Allow me to see my encumbrance while opening a chest
- Give me multiple quick slot wheels OR allow me to pair multiple items to one slot (Sword+Shield+Heal all one option / Two-handed Warhammer+Beserk)
- Let me customize the touchpad
- Open the map in the state I left it - if I'm using local map stop having me zoom in
- A better tutorial for Lockpicking, it seems impossible
Hi I am new.
Itās amazing so far, but I noticed some minor things, one of which is kinda silly looking
- The player body doesnāt have a shadow, while the weapons you have equipped do, which makes it look like youāre just a bunch of floating swords and a quiver
Better balancing of the movement speed and animation to avoid the sensation of ice skating. Possibly also giving some kind of feedback on resistance of the terrain such as screen wobble or darkened vignette when running out of stamina. Animations for going up and down stairs.
These are closer to bugs I think, but:
- Scroll bar to select how long you want to wait is way too sensitive, at least on a Dualsense controller. Pressing the DPad once to scroll right sometimes sees you skip forward by two so it's aggravating to try and pick the exact number you want
- Pressing the interact button on a corpse sometimes picks it up instead of searching it. When this happens I have to spam it in order to actually search the body
- For some reason I cannot rebind the touchpad, but I can unbind it from whatever it is bound to?
Please improve how indirect lighting looks. Some weathers look bad and comparing npcs with and without the cinematic light in these problem areas really makes the issue stand out. Stalker 2 suffers from the same issue so maybe its a UE5 thing
Wound in time questline seems way to short/lack luster for what's is involved. ||2 quests and you have an elderscroll seems very underwhelming||
HUD toggle! Preferably adaptive.
Also if you could add the face changing npc from skyrim, you could put her someplace silly like the inn of Ill omen.
Oh and character height fix.
It's been such a treat being able to transport myself back into Cyrodiil. I find the remaster such a wonderful accomplishment, able to capture that feeling of whimsy and magic I felt as a child wandering the world to the present day with how visually stunning it is. I feel somehow both like a tourist snapping screenshots everywhere and also as if I have come back home.
All that is to say, in terms of suggestions (bug fixes aside), I would love for things to be expanded upon where possible. (For context, so far, I have been doing side quests and some mage guild quests). Things like Kvatch eventually not being in ruin after the relevant main quest, cut content in the original game being revisited etc - things like that! With the Kvatch one I feel that it would further ground the world and immerse the player.
To add onto the above, I recall the followers were very much just that - followers. It would be a real treat to have more complex companions to further ground and immerse the player in the world and to make it feel even more alive!
In terms of additional suggestions, I've always liked the systems in place such as the levelling up system requiring a bed which incentivises the player to not be an insomniac haha. Perhaps an option to have a sleep and hunger system (not in a survival sense more like KCD in an immersion sense). In that vein, it would depend how complex that line of immersion could be in terms of fishing or having minigames to repair your gear etc.
Lastly, Oblivion is such a whimsical world but also so sincere and full of heart that any additional quests, even if it might feel anachronistic with more modern game design, would still be such a treat and compliment the tone well!
Thank you so much Bethesda and Virtuos for bringing me and so many other so much joy. As someone who is also half French, merci beacoup pour cet accomplissement incroyable et Ć©mouvant⯠ā¤ļø
Fix the glitch where status/enchantment graphical effects like burning don't disappear from your character
Adjusting the difficulty settings. Between Adept and expert is broken. Feels like itās missing an in between setting.
-
At the moment, you can't add controller and keyboard mappings. I'm on Steamdeck so I have a few extra buttons that I would like to map, but can't because there are no more "Controller" buttons. So it would be nice if you can mix controller+keyboard mappings
-
The "Start" button brings up the most recently used menu page. There should be an option for "Start" behavior
- Open Last Menu,
- Open Magic,
- Open Inventory, ...
Personally the only time I hit the Start button is when I want to save. It's a minor inconvenience to have to go tab through the menus each time
Greetings! I am so pleased to see some feedback! I am having a BLAST with Oblivion just the same as I did back in 2006. This has been a fantastic remaster. A few things I'd like to add for suggestions.
-I know bug fixes will be on the way, but in particular we Argonians are missing our tails on some clothing!
-Performance leaves a lot to be desired. I'm on a 3090, i9, 64gb of ram and it chugs.
-I'd love to see an option for a third person camera like the original. Centered, no crosshair. I don't mind over the shoulder for combat, but when I'm out and about exploring I prefer a centered camera.
-I think the new voices are great, but they remind me too much of Skyrim. An optional "original voices" option would be lovely.
-I do enjoy the new colors, but I'd love to see an option that resembles the more colorful aspects of the original game.
-The ability to change your character appearance at an NPC/Barber as not to mess up the stats
-The original weapon SFX are missed. I don't feel the powerful swing of my claymore as well as I used to because the new SFX sound a bit muted/muffled when compared to the loud clanging sounds. An option for original SFX would be great!
-Provide a way to level up unique quest rewards so they aren't useless at higher levels.
-Allow the UI to be customized. I would prefer something closer to the original oblivion's layout.
-Less cloudy weather, more sunshine!
-The ability to toggle the hud for screenshots
-This is a head in the clouds never happening feature, but I'd love up to 4 player co-op!
I don't expect to be heard, but I wanted to throw my opinion out there! Thank you for giving me the gift of playing my favorite game all over again ā¤ļø
Blessings of Akatosh upon ye
Built in Reshade options
So, in terms of gameplay QoL tweaks and not adding content, everything I've noticed is:
- Gap between Adept and Expert difficulty needs tweaked (Adept is too easy, Expert is too hard).
- On PC, change to be able to accept window prompts with the "E" key instead of the "Enter" key.
- On the same note, the same key should open and close the same menu (M key should open AND close the map).
- Some indication that a location has been cleared such as caves, camps, and ruins.
- Toggle setting to allow the crosshair to be removed.
- BUG- While playing in Low or Medium visual settings, stealthing without bow/staff equipped and being fully undetected makes the eye reticle completely disappear, making it very difficult to aim spells.
- REQUEST- The sorting system of the original was much better, especially the Alchemy tab. Please at least give us the option to have our potions separate from our ingredients.
Politely asking that Mouse and Keyboard controls please be enabled for the PS5. They're already coded for the PC, it's the same underyling architecture, and I can't play comfortably with controller.
Auto Equip arrows when you equip a bow š
- Sprint animation fix
- difficulty slider fix
- Invisible weapon/shield while on inventory screen fix
- An extreme long shot but creation kit š (would love to have better cities in this)
Tweak some controls for PC controller. The RB button automatically brings up the spell hotkeys, and I can't actually use it to cast spells.
Would also love a way to remove ingredients during alchemy so I don't have to back out of the screen and restart.
How about a, height adjuster for our characters! And also maybe marriage into the game. I would love to have Dar-Ma move into my battlehorn castle
We so need Dual wielding and mod support.
Thank you Bethesda & Virtuos for such a great remaster! šš»šš»šš»
Please keep in mind this is for suggestions only
If you would like to discuss any of them, do so in #oblivion-chat
- Have leveled quest rewards automatically level up as you level up: would help so much with the pacing of the game so youāre not forced to put off quests for later!
Improved combat AI if already not mentioned, ai with bows should seek some minor distance and re equip their ranged weapon, allow AI to to shield bash if they could not already do so
How about this
Move target names (those semi transparent cards with text) to the corner of the screen where they were in OG.
I mean doors, containers, etc. I see that it's a chest, i don't need you to cover the middle of my screen to tell me that... Or at least remove the box around the text.
And give an option to remove "[E] Open".
The cursor for loot\open was totally enough.
I've always been passionate about this specific problem but having some mechanic/process/NPC that allows you to bring unique weapons/armor up to your level if you happen to get them too early. I feel like I'm being gatekeeped from doing a lot of the quests (for example, the Chillrend quest) because I will eventually outscale the weapon since I did the quest at level 10 as opposed to 25. It's making me avoid doing all of these unique gear quests until I'm level 25+ for the strongest possible version, which to me defeats the purpose. Make it so I have to go get some rare ingredients/materials to use on an anvil or pay a lot of money to an NPC so that I can "unlock it's true power" or something. I don't want to get Chillrend at level 5 and then it's basically completely outclassed by level 10. Uniques should feel unique.
I would really like to see the original version of the female Huntsman vest restored in some fashion
Channel Suggestion: Maybe define the scope of suggestions we can make in this channel? Is it "Small improvements to the existing game, such as controls and interface and bug fixes," or does it include "Whole new features that weren't in the original Oblivion, such as marriage etc"?
Balance Change: Make unique weapons that have different variants by level actually just automatically scale their power with the player. Avoids perverse incentive of holding off on fun quests because you don't want to get the reward locked to a low level version.
Deleveled quest items and uniques.
More enemy variation, not removing low level enemies after reaching a specific level.
The ability to remove created spells from your magic tab would be good.
Also being able to sort items by type in your inventory to more easily access stuff like potions or specific weapons. Same for spells honestly.
Controller support for the enchanting and spell crafting station is a bit spotty too with some inputs not working (such as changing between panes for enchanting).
Please make it easier to put items from my characters inventory into storage such as chests or barrels on Xbox.
I currently have to press RS once to view item details, then press RS again to close item details so that I can see items in my characters inventory in order to place them in the container. There are several unused buttons on the screen an easier way to have access or even just have both menus open when you look in a container would be cool. A fix is badly needed, especially since most people are hoarders like me!
Please fix the Adoring Fan's hair. It needs to be obnoxiously yellow and shiny like the original! Thank you.
⢠When in containers, change the text tip for item search to item transfer. I was baffled that I could not put items in containers until someone pointed out I needed to press the āsearchā button to move items into a container.
⢠Cool it on the movement speed decrease when climbing slopes. Really cool feature. Keep it in. But tone it down a bit or make it more consistent.
⢠Increase two handed attack speed? First attack is normal but the second attack in the light combo is slower than a power attack.
⢠Option for changing the global color palette or LUT or whatever. Love the new one, but I also loved the old one.
⢠Allow for full control from keyboard in menus. And allow it to be one handed. Confirm with space bar or E, disable pointer unless it is being used. Switch menu tabs with 1 and 3.
⢠Allow the armor stand in the KotN armory to level up ALL leveled items to your level. I think that would allow all ālegendaryā items to be useful regardless of when you acquired them while at the same time preventing some items from being overpowered too early on.
Keep in mind this is not for bug reports. This is for suggestions only
- Please add HDR support on Steam
- Steam cloud saves currently do not work between desktop and Steam deck
If you have a bug to report, please do so here: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/home/product/1402/oblivionrecat/287/feedback/1135
Ahoy! I have not gotten to play the remaster yet myself but I am very excited to. That being said I would be a thousand times more interested with the original colors in tact and hope either options for that or proper mod support on consoles is considered
Optimize for Series S. Itās like playing a Switch port.
I'd like an option to take all of a container's items in a specific category while leaving the others. As it stands now, the "Take All" option is very misleading because the player can see only one tab's items but it still takes others.
Add performance mode for eggbawk
Points to improve:
Heavy attacks
They take too long to cast, and most importantly, our character should no longer automatically move in the given direction during the attack. This makes heavy attacks completely unusable and not impactful at all.
ā ļø Spell Creation
Allow the player to delete a custom spell.
Fix the UI display ā currently, itās impossible to know what type of spell is being created (Mysticism, Restoration...) or its mastery level !
ā ļø Subtitles
Subtitles are not present for all dialogues, sometimes even in main quests (||for example, when Martin gives a speech at Cloud Ruler Temple||).
Blocking
The ability to block sooner after a light attack.
Unique Items
Adjust the item's level to match the characterās level, even after they level up.
Companion Carry Capacity
Add the ability for companions who follow us to carry items.
Keybinding
On keyboard, the "E" key should work the same as "Enter".
There should also be an option to bind a key to exit a menu or interaction, other than "Escape", which is currently the same key used to access the system menu.
Special mount
||The unicorn attacks as soon as a weapon is drawn, which shouldnāt be possible once she becomes our mount. Additionally, she never stays in place.||
Translation
The translations do not match those from the original game. Iām playing with French subtitles, and many names have clearly been changed, at the expense of the gameās lore.
Here are some of the things that I would like to be changed/added:
- Fix diffulty settings, big disparity between Adept and Expert
- Add option to remove distance/location name under compass
- Add option to bring back old color scheme
- Add option to bring back old UI (old HUD at least, if whole UI is not possible)
- Add option to bring back old main menu
- Fix sprint animation
- Player and NPC walking/running animation is too slouched
- Not sure if it s a bug but I am getting the lockpick breaking sound when clicking on a locked chest
- Another possible bug, hearing the "take all" sound effect when looting any type of container
- Add option to remove health regen
- Fix NPC heights so that certain races are taller/shorter (ex: Nords and High Elves are taller, Wood Elves are shorter)
- Separate certain categories in inventory like OG, scrolls, potions/ingredients, etc.
- Mod support on console pretty please
Separate the system and character pages please ā¤ļø
I would really like enemies to stop focusing on my horse and come fight me instead.
Suggestions only please
After 20 years I'd like to have a way to get on the roof of the white gold tower without jumping on paint brushes. In the original trailer Uriel septim was standing up there.
When creating Khajiit characters give us an option to edit the shape or straight up remove the mane on their face.
Let me marry Sir Mazoga, cowards
Basic request: can we get a photo mode or settings to disable UI easier. I was in Skingrad last night while it was raining and the street with the updated lighting and rain was so pretty. I couldn't get a decent screenshot because of the goofy cursor though.
Since we got skyrim vr, can we got Oblivion PSVR2? I'd gladly pay 50 bucks for vr access!
Skyrim VR was great. Iād love to play oblivion on PSVR2
The absolute biggest issue with the game currently is extremely easy to fix
The difficulty settings are completely broken
Bumping from adept to expert makes you take 3x more damage and do .6x the damage
This is the same as Legendary in Skyrim. There is already a mod to fix this on PC
In Skyrim expert is .75x damage given 1.5x damage taken, much more reasonable. Or just add back the slider.
This really needs to be fixed as adept is too easy and this is ruining many peopleās experience on console.
another super easy thing is mouse and keyboard support on console. I donāt know how this released with these two things broken
Similarly, I'd like it if we can toggle UI then have the UI elements be modular - I'd like to be able to turn off the compass while keeping the other UI elements, I like playing games without mini-maps and compasses these days.
Please fix the difficulty. Adept is too easy and expert is near impossible as a melee player. I donāt get how this wasnāt noticed in pre release testing
Okay if we're putting in suggestions for new features (my number 1 feature request is mouse and keyboard support on PS5) then... I would pay for an expansion and refinement to Vampirism in the style of the Skyrim mod "Sacrosanct," with the specific option to reward being well-fed rather than starving.
I know the lore is "Ah, the longer vampires go without feeding the more dangerous they become!" but it's kinda boring and undermines the central premise of being a vampire as a game option through ludonarrative dissonance: you, as the player, are rewarded for doing the opposite of what a vampire wants to do, which is drink lots of blood.
Probably a shared sentiment and something many people found disappointing at least on reddit (for what itās worth)ā¦level scaling.
Levelling itself is way simpler. I actually didnāt mind the old system but the newer one simply takes the micromanagement out of attribute gains (plus some of the perk changes are amazing).
Butā¦this needs to work in tandem with world and loot scaling.
Itās a personal opinion, but I donāt think bandits or marauders or basic necromancers/conjurors shouldnāt be using anything superior than fur/leather/chain/iron/steel.
unique bandit lords/marauder bosses could have a complete kit. I.e., one orc marauder boss out there could have full orcish armour but long story shortā¦bandits rocking glass armour/daedric etc (weapons too) is ridiculous.
That item and loot scaling also needs to be rebalanced alongside world scaling - I feel sad seeing enemies leave lists as time goes on. Iād love more variety, so Iām OK with weaker and more powerful enemies, all sticking around. I donāt mind early game challenges with areas with tough opponents too.
People are also echoing this same sentiment but - quest rewards are kind of awkward, you donāt want them low level, but by the time they are powerful, youāve already got high level skills or other self-made enchantment items. It just devalues unique equipment and quest rewards.
So, I know thereās many suggestions out there, but I hope these ideas resonate with a few others!
About unique items.
Instead of giving players items depending on their lvl when gained or giving them max leveled unique items, the items should level up when in inventory with the players.
- when a player gain an unique item at lvl 10 the item will bƩ a 10 levelled item
- but when the player level up, the item is also levelled to match the player.
- the effect of uniques would adapt to the player during all the game not just when received
I think the absolute most needed fix is simply more options in the visual experience, both in terms of color and ui elements. There's nothing wrong with the remastered visually but it simply isn't the original art direction and I want options to find a personal middle ground between the two. I want my fantasy games to feel fantastical
Horse label popping up while riding needs to be fixed. More saturation or contrast sliders would be great. Ability to disable UI elements.
Difficulty changes to make to gap between Adept and Expert smaller and Master actually doable. Maybe add sliders if possible.
Dual wield one hand melee weapons, and a hotkey for easy, on the fly weapon set swapping.
Please remember this is suggestions, not bug reports
Difficulty scaling needs to be fixed, hopefully to approximately the same damage increases and decreases as found in Skyrim.
Enemies need to have their gear quality reduced at higher levels and given passive increases to damage and armor to compensate. Bandits should be in steel or chainmail, with higher grade equipment being only found in chests or as quest rewards, not from bodies. This would not only improve the visuals of most random enemies and encouters but it would also help fix the economy and make thievery skills and merchantile more useful for getting access to higher tier gear.
Ok here is suggestions for things that aren't ingame instead of balance feedback:
-
jogging and running are too similar aside from the animations and stamina. Running into enemies and objects should interact with them.
-
allow stacking multiple instances of a poison on weps or auto reapplying it between fights.
3)add new weps like spearsŲ pole arms, thrown blades and flails.
-
add a way to bless unique items up to the player level, or maybe make it part of enchanting and armoring.
-
high stealth should make enemies lose track of you if you break line of sight long enough.
-
allow duel wielding one handed weps and shields at the cost of losing access to magic.
-Press E to accept/Confirm in menus. It's clunky to have to press enter on PC when the activate button for everything else in-game is the "E" Key.
-Fix Alchemy Menu. As it stands, when you select a filter, when you run out of ingredients you cannot deselect the filter and need to exit the alchemy menu altogether.
-Fix Oblivion Gates spawning before the Kvatch quest is completed. Iām not sure if this is a bug or intentional design decision.
-Some creatures seem to sink to the bottom of water instead of float.
-Reintroduce subcategories in the menu. Alchemy Equipment, potions, and ingredients are all vastly different items with different functions. It is frustrating that they are all lumped into one "Alchemy" tab and is one of the few things that feels like a āstep backā from the original Oblivion.
-Some form of official modding tools.
-Survival or hardcore mode.
-More options for difficulty and gameplay. Starfield has a nice "Custom Difficulty" setting. It would be cool to have options like "Limited fast travel only on mounts" or "Turning off essential NPCs" for playthrough variety.
-If possible, some way to "Level up" scaled rewards like the KOTN armor. It would be nice to continue using unique items we find as we grow in power.
-An option to delete spells in the spellbook.
-If we rename our character near the sewer gates/before leaving the Imperial sewers, it should make a new character folder. Right now, it just renames the current character and doesn't have a unique entry in the load menu. This has always been a āquick startā technique, and doesnāt feel like it works properly in the remaster.
-Have the local Map automatically open up when in Interiors. Itās frustrating to have to manually scroll into it when trying to navigate dungeons.
-More Eyebrow color customization options. There's currently no Purely white/silver hair.
-A Way to change our appearance later in the game.
Photo mode would be great. I wish the scaling had been tweaked with leveled zones instead of global scaling.
- Official mod tools
- Light plugins
Iād love to see capes added to the game, especially since the cloth physics are so good
Difficulty really needs to be fixed. Adept is a piece of cake with enemies posing no threat, while expert is damn near impossible. There is absolutely no middle ground!
World scaling needs to change (bandits should never wear glass/daedric, even ebony should be reserved for bosses), fauna should not get extinct on higher level (Morrowind had this right: introduce higher lvl enemies but keep lower level present) and enemies should have cap (bandits should not be threat on high lvl and should definitely not be sponges). It was problem on original release and is still present here.
I've noticed that when you turn motion blur on it applies to everything that's in motion and it really shouldn't. I suggest that it be changed to exclude things like butterflies, dragonflies, fireflies and even fish as the motion blur applied to them looks horrifying.
I do not believe this is a bug, just an oversight, because for all intents and purposes motion blur makes everything that's moving blurred like it's supposed to and it looks great otherwise
Edit: I'm on Playstation by the way. I don't know if it's an issue with other systems.
Hello! First I appreciate how youāre taking suggestions. I hope mine arenāt too unreasonable.

my biggest concern is the leveled loot system. Iām so happy that the rest of the leveling has been tweaked, however I wish unique quest rewards like Blackwater Blade were deleveled or at least able to scale with the player. In a way, it feels like a punishment for exploring the game too early

I like the addition of the hotbar, though I wish either that player movement was allowed in the hotbar or that time freezes in the hotbar like any other menu. It makes it awkward to use
-
I play on Xbox Series S, the frame rate is fairly low. It may need optimization
-
I noticed I have a bit of trouble obtaining objects or looting bodies because the button input for grabbing is too sensitive. The game often thinks Iām grabbing the entity for a split second

this one is really little! when entering the persuasion mini game, the first round doesnāt show color and doesnāt initially display facial signals until going around the wheel a bit
Thatās all I can really think of. The remaster is overall excellent and Iām very grateful for it! Iāve been meaning to get into Oblivion for weeks now, itās the perfect opportunity
Disable hud features, including the aiming reticle!
The difficulty difference between adept and master is huge
Some Suggestions

Rework a Survival Mode into the Game: Eating, Drinking, Sleep become a mandatory aspect of the game.

DIFFICULTY Improvements, adjust the difficulty settings especially to help the game balance out between adept>expert, damage sponges are not enjoyable to go against. possibly Make combat more realistic and add 'Hero of Kvatch' Mode, Where combat becomes a lot more realistic, Learning to dodge and properly block to avoid instant death, and introduce a new injury system? š

Improved Horse Combat and controls. Allow for combat on the back of horses using spells, bows, and weapons, allow for first person riding on horse back.

More Weapon and Armor Diversity

FIX STEALTH, IT IS SO BROKEN TO ANNOYING DEGREE, MY 80 STEALTH FEELS LIKE IT MEANS NOTHING IF I GET SEEN ONCE, THIS MEANS MAKE THE ENEMIES STOP BEING BLOOD HOUNDS FOR TRACKING ME FOR ALMOST 5 MINUTES AFTER I LEAVE A DAMN CITY.
-
Vast Fauna Variety and differences.
Please remove the forward slash "/" key from opening the console. This is one of my buttons on my mouse that I use for rebinding in games and it makes it so I can't use it for Oblivion, very annoying unfortunately.
[Suggestions] Add Special Character and Emojis to The Keyboard on PS5 š š
