Literally the only ones are a barista institute creation, and dripfield civilian. It's now crashing before I can even get to new Atlantis.
This is my 4th new start removing all non paid mods, then cutting paid mods in half and still the game is bugging out massively
Sometimes removing mods is the worst choice
are you doing a brand new save cos if not ur bound to have problems
Restarted the game every time I've changed mods
cause you might have removed something that is now populated on your save file that is now missing and the game is trying to load it

Yeah the ps5 drop is brand new I think its struggling a bit cos ive had v little crashes on pc so far other than ones i diagnosed as mod related since the dlc drop

This is my third save in total, my first one i quit cos i had a weird hospital experience right after the game released so after like 60 hours of play i ended up hooked up on morphine having starfield dreams in hospital and for like a solid month i couldnt play without feeling sick LOL
Second one was when shattered space dropped but i never actually got to play it

the game itself has a hard recycle line that hits 3days in in-game time, I think. I know this will clear out any formIDs that aren't marked with "Must persist."

edit: Actually; Ignore that because I'm going through your mods and rip out most of your loot & vendor injections anyway. Not a critique, just preference, I love the visual changes but don't care about looting the armors.
Would you recommend not enabling your mods till that update then? I've had to disable everything to get the game stable on ps5 and the Dripfield mods are the first ones I wanna try and activate

Ps5 seems to have alot of issues, if I have over 8gb of mods the game doesn't load the screen right on new game.
Even vanilla has a decent chuck of crashes. I've had 5 restarts now so I wanna get to new Atlantis then I'm gonna try adding in dripfield again and see how that goes
If it's not working properly before you even get to New Atlantis, it probably won't do much if you enable it while you're there
I don't know how familiar you are with Bethesda's games or modding them but a good rule of thumb is to leave your load order alone after starting a playthrough
MAYBE install and enable something small every once in a blue moon and adjust your load order accordingly but even that comes with risk
You can scroll up to see all the things I've done, I restarted a new game every time I removed more mods hence why this is my 5th go through kreet since Tuesday lol
i have a dumb question IF i installed am od that DELAYED the start of Terran armada, could theat Eleviate a potential bug where (( if you dont know its a bug ,)) the quest potentially siezing up. and making the quest unable to be completed because the SSNN broadcast trigger being delayed(( still not sure how that worked.... but i feel like that could be a tangent in itself))

I'm assuming you're eager to start playing since it just came to PS5 but it might be best to wait it out a few days, some of the stability issues might get fixed and it'll give the mod authors more time to adequately deal with anything the update might've caused

To play, it's what i'm doing since I have a lot of paid creations. I'm just letting some time pass, letting the modders do what they have to in order to smooth out any effects the new stuff might've had on the creations.
I mean you could just play vanilla and deal with whatever PS5 users are currently dealing with, but i'm not familiar at all with what's going on specifically
A short playthrough in unmodded starfield will help you learn the game as well
The worst you will encounter is a ton of enemies holing UC fatigues and the like if you install it right now.
Honestly , ps5 is a good baseline to see bugs and gameplay issues on Bethesda end
I'd would have assumed the verified creator mods being uploaded to playstation would have been updated to run on the latest patch which is the only patch available on ps5 😅
But I could be waiting weeks or months for specific mods or Bethesda themselves to deal with any issues
I feel like they'll deal with issues quickly because I didn't even know PS5 users got access to the game when we got the update, I honestly thought y'all could already play it 😂
It's all clearly an attempt to revive the game a bit so they'll definitely take it more seriously I think.
updting paid creations has nothign to do with bethesda it still relys on the creator to update it for the new content. I DO think however (( taht beinga paid creator.....) do get access to hte Update ahead of time to update thir mod so its updated faster

What caused the bug?
it was the SSNN broadcast that triggered it for me. i had to listen to it twice.
and wwhen i did hte quest updated to go help look for the ship, and such. but a quest immedately after that broke and wass unable to be completed, fro mwhat i gathered THAT bug is apparently well Known?
it only updated after i went afk in Vollii cuz i nad to get a drink and i was loading into the core at the time
i got it the second i got back from varuun kai n went past my first ssnn in new at lantis
like i like living on my ship.... i RARELY go planet side Unless its for supplies (( ammo , aid , mats,) ir too unload my cargo hold of varrius weapons and space suits i gathered,
i was only there to trade tbh

No, everything works fine. There are various issues with ps5 unrelated to mods or specific mods.

No. That is a mod conflict. You have another mod replacing the Mark I.
The Intrepid suit is just the Mark I without the shoulder patch.
The only mods I have is Trackers, dripfield Civilian, crimson fleet and minor faction, and factions and encounters expanded

All I know is ps5 version is borked beyond belief
most ofthe versions are but PS5 has it the worst
Adjusting the load order seems to have repaired it for some outfits but not all of them, some are still broken
Changed the load order which fixed some of them, but militant and space rogue outfits are bugged among a few others
That's super interesting/odd, because to my understanding load order shouldn't matter that much for clothing mods

I believe there is a larger issue at play with the PS5 pulling textures and meshes/geometry incorrectly. We are also seeing textures being corrupted as they are pulled from the archives. I think the PS5/Starfield is having difficulties with external assets.
i also know that bugs are honestly happing game wide but PS5 seems to be having hte most issues

You probably don't know what all of those are just by looking at the title but most are obvious and you can look up any creations you're unsure of
I also had to readjust it because the update shuffled my load order a bit but i'm confident that it would run smoothly as-is if we weren't dealing with the negative impact of the update

@gray veldt If you attempt to understand what a creation actually does under the surface instead of just what you see and experience in the game, load orders will be a lot easier for you to manage
Sometimes it's easy to understand what's going on under the hood, but obviously more complex mods are a bit more tedious
Like most people would see VIGILANCE and only really look at the fact that it has some new weapons and a suit of armor, but there's a whole dungeon/quest side of it and it potentially adds a new faction, not entirely sure if they just use spacers or actually made a new faction, but everything about that creation is somewhat unique so I just treat it a bit more seriously

BGS games dont have that kind of API as they're not online games, any sort of loadout or inventory management would probably be done ingame with mods.
Does anyone know if the unofficial patch mod stops freezing on PS5?
Yes, that makes sense. Without an online backend or centralized data, BGS has no reason to expose an external API. All game state (inventory, loadouts, stats, ships, etc.) is stored locally in save files, so they only way to access it is through modding via Papyrus/Creations or native hooks.
So any inventory or loadout management solution has to be implemented directly in‑game, since nothing is accessible through a web service or external endpoint. Thanks 😉

Ps5 modding update, after restarting and not using any mods other than Trackers Alliance and Dripfield I've made it 5 hours without a crash.

I was only using paid creations but had around 25, various quest and ship mods plus the ones above.
Either the ps5 is just very unstable right now or it's running into the reference limit alot more easily after the update
i hope to see some achievement friendly if possible ui creations. i have the compact mission and crew one but more is always welcome
If you have the latest of those that work, your on PC. Just install Baka achievement enabler and never worry about it again.

I think one mod that could really be popular is a mod that takes the shroud bearer and the other two capital ships we get to blow, and turns them into incursion like jobs where we can board them and trigger the self destruct in them.

You can use the Creations webpage to pull up an author, and show only PS5 mods from them.
It's true but I was hoping he would be able to add the aliens and droids mod of his, listen PlayStation 5 and the free Lanes update introduced more problems than most modders expected I have a feeling that it's going to take a while it's even figure it out

Another good pro tip to fix up your game is, if you haven't tripped the 3 day mark in game for a while just go somewhere and do that.
That cycles a lot of formID bloat

So after a 3 day in game cycle the game will clear most formID that aren't marked as must persist
This is why things respawn and reset etc etc
I've seen a good number of people fix invisible asset problems by going to Venus and waiting for 3 days time
That'll cycle out those messed up formIDs
For people who get outfit packs that add to a general level list that already exists the usual reason why things spawn invisible is usually due to the game probably loading what's already on them but replacing that with what they originally didn't have

Nah, it's just one of 3 potential things
they probably have two competing outfits in their inventory
The outfit in standby has item equip type set to apparel even tho it's marked and stored as spacesuit cause if a spacesuit uses the main body types for apparel it will remove those body parts if worn over the outfit and hidden
The game already preload their equipment and the mod replaces that but the game will still load their previous inventory/ outfit set on their character until they're recycled
Those are the main things that happen when you load an inventory replacement mod mid game
Which, it's okay to do, all you have to do is just go and wait 3 days time somewhere

After this major update, has anybody been trying to implement voice acting into their mods? It seems as though things have changed, and I can’t implement my voice acting into my mod effectively. When I try to, and then I tried to test it there’s no audio. Has anybody else been running into this issue?
I’ve been doing everything that I used to do. I record a WAV file. I put it into the correct mod folder then I use CK to create wem files. Then I do the lipsync process for my mod. It creates files for the esp folder then I copy and paste to the esm folder. But this process no longer works. If anyone knows how or why this has changed, please let me know.

I can sort this out pretty soon, but it’s just really annoying because it’s the weekend and this is when I have the time to mod the game. I have to work during the week haha.
You need to finalize the mod as an .esm first, and then generate the voice/lip files while the ESM is the "Active File" in the Creation Kit.
The voice lines are linked to specific Dialogue IDs. If you copythe files to an ESM folder but the Dialogue record inside the ESM is looking for a different ID, the game won't find the audio, resulting in silence pretty much
And I also installed enhanced outpost mission boards mod so I can get more rewards to grind cred sticks
Every recorded voice acting line corresponds to a specific ID number. I know that I’ve been doing that for a while. The problem is it’s been working for a long time, but only now only after this update it’s not working for some reason.
Ahh gotcha, what you need to do now is pack your .wem and .lip files into a .ba2 archive. The archive must be named exactly the same as your mod (e.g., MyMod - Voices.ba2). If it's not packed, the engine won't even look for the IDs.
Really? So now I can’t test my mod without packing it into a BA2 file? I use loose files to test my mod.
That does help I can definitely do that. It’s just another step to do now. It would be a lot nicer just to use the loose files and then after I’m done editing and doing everything I need to do then compile it into a BA two file that’s ready for everybody to enjoy
Yeah it is really annoying tbh, If you want to keep testing with loose files without packing every time, try setting
bResourceIndexDiskCache=0 in your StarfieldCustom.ini to force a folder scan, and keep the mod as an .esp until your final build

Just FYI:, I use both new Atlantis awaits in positively new Atlantis in the same game. They actually do not conflict.

I’ve got several voice actors. It’s a mod based on the ecliptic. I’m probably gonna need to get at least one more voice actor for the mod and he’s the final boss. I did everything with AI originally, but Bethesda won’t allow AI anything. I’m cool with that like that’s fine. But I’ll need to get a really motivated or nasty character for the funnel boss. That’s what I’m working on right now.

So you basically start out at the red Mile and then you transition into the ecliptic. That’s how it starts anyway but there’s some twists and turns that happen with the UC and there’s some special weapons involved.. I don’t wanna like ruining it for everybody but yeah it’s pretty cool man like I’ve been working on this for over a year.,
it’s probably not as good as somebody like Kinngath or Almighty SE. But I’d say it’s a pretty cool quest mod at this point.

Anyone know if it is possible to create a mod for console (PS5 in my case) to report/view crash logs? It's a longs shot, but I thought I would ask anyway. Guessing it's pretty much hopeless as there's prob no way to view the logs since the PS5 just crash to Home screen, and thus end everything related to the game application.
back when I played on a console (xbox 360) most problems were Heat or running out of memory.
PS5 I found it was easy to open and dust even to the point of removing the fan super easy to clean it
Xbox one I have no idea how to even breach the casing 😕 but dust looks like a massive issue with it heat wise

They said right after the deep dive that they still had ideas for plenty of updates and dlc
There are some issues, but the games media is trying to seriously overblow them because that strategy worked last time. It's not really working this time because a lot of the Starfield hate was PS5 peeps mad because they were locked out.
Xbox plays tripled, Steam sales shot back up into the top 20 for a while (still top 30), the launch is floating all boats. Twitch stream numbers went from the low hundreds at peak hours into the near five figures.
Modders got a month worth of library adds in a week.
Yeah there's some crashing issues on PlayStation, unfortunate but not unexpected. But thats all I've heard
most of the PS5 crash issues are solveable by changing graphics settings. I've got 10 hours of video up with one crash, and that because I ignored the settings advice.
Running 40 fps and Performance, I'm rock solid on PS5 Pro.
The weird mod space issue is more concerning re: crashes, but I know that'll get fixed.

Here's an obvious tweak a mod author of ship habs could do; replace these railings with shorter ones, or lower the whole upper deck by about 0.4. Otherwise you can't boost up to the top deck in these habs, and it kind of defeats the purpose of having stairs if it means you actually take longer to get around your ship!

I have no idea if this is possible in the CK, but the floor pieces are separate from the hab, so I was able to lower them in the console. Even the navmeshing still seems to work 😅
I guess the problem though would be how you'd handle habs on the sides of this. You could add a little step at the ends, but there's probably no room to do that on the upper deck for side connections.
Ah well, just an idea. Maybe just replacing the floor with pieces that don't have railings would be simpler.

Has anyone mapped out how the new "cruise" feature works under the hood?
I think it's a cool idea, but now we need things to do while we're waiting (I guess it's not a new problem, due to Astrogate, etc.).
My thought: reading books, looking at consoles, etc. should take time (possibly only during cruise mode, so it doesn't feel punishing in other situations). This would incentivize the player to do those things, and make cruise mode feel more real.
It could probably be done with a background quest with a script cuing off of one of these in game.psc:

...and then further cuing off of RegisterForMenuOpenCloseEvent for whatever actions (reading, etc.) desired.

New Atlantis after dark
I don't know why the author hasn't done this yet. I think the mod is quite recent. I was looking at it, and the level of detail is impressive. I think other modders could talk to the author and develop missions together – it's a gigantic map, both horizontally and vertically, it makes sense, maintains the correct atmosphere of the place, doesn't exaggerate anything, doesn't overlap objects... it's consistent with the planet and concept. I really liked it, and I'm picky about that (demanding).
Its important to point out, that is from a different modder. Saying "the modder" implies it was the original guy.

Is there anyone here who uses my Command NPCs mod (or who wouldn't mind installing it briefly) and who has recruited Delta from the new DLC? I got a bug report saying "doesn't seem to manage Delta and the other companion added by Terran Armada" but I've not even started the DLC yet to check and have no idea who the "other companion" refers to either. It would be good to know if you see the "command" option on them.
The other companion could be Muria from the NA Galbank, I can test it out, but I only have Delta as a quest companion for now, does your mod play well with The Gangs All Here mod?

Delta stays as a quest companion you can't dismiss til u finish the TA storyline afaik
When I teleport to Delta's holding cell there's a button to enable their recruitment dialogue, but I'm guessing you don't get that until later in normal play.
While I have Delta as a Quest companion he does not have a command prompt, however Muria works fine

Keep an eye on TerraUI, its one of the new ones but its completely open permissions and plans to be similar to starUI in scope which means that if more people pick it up we could get all kinds of variations of it and someone will always be there to support it into the future through the next big updates

It'll have user customization through ini's when its closer to feature complete. Plus with open permissions there can even be patches made to make it entirely different or similar to the others. So I'm sure it will eventually match your taste, but you gotta start somewhere

I have a stuck Terran Armada Incursion quest. The location is [...] and as such I think its causing the CTD every time I try to jump to that redacted location.
Mission title and description:
"Major Incursion: I traveled to [...] where i discovered a Terran Reclaimer. I need to eliminate the escort ships protecting it so i can safely board and take out the ship from inside. "
Stages:
Cruise mode to location (Done)
Destroy Escort ships (not done)
Board and destroy Reclaimer (not done)
I can try to fix with sqt and setstage to 10000 once i find the questid. I assume that's what your mod does?
Will you be adding these radiant Terran Armada quests to your mod?
That means the location didn't populate so it doesn't exist, but the incursions are supposed to move daily so wait a day and see if that fixes it
I don't add DLC quests to the mod as then everyone would be required to have all DLC to use the mod.
If enough issues arise and they aren't resolved in updates soon, I can create a separate mod just for each DLC, though.

Update: Setstage 10000 on that questid cleared it.

From an "update your mods" standpoint, this was the largest update the game has ever received, and there was no beta except for a handful of VCs. It's going to take some time. There's already been HUNDREDS of updates published.
@icy wyvern After the latest update, I'm unable to enable Choose Your Universe, as it states it requires files that aren't present (on Xbox). Everything else seems fine, and I don't see any dependencies listed. Is this a known issue, or just me reporting so far?
First report. There shouldn't be any requirements other than Starfield.esm, so not sure what might cause that. Try completing deleting it, exiting completely out of the game and then reinstall.
OK; I'll do that when I get back to my house later and let you know how it works out. I did delete and reinstall the mod, but didn't bounce the game between those two steps.

Could I get help with my load order I’m on ps5 and I think I did a pretty good job with my list but my safe file got corrupted and caused a whole host of issues when all I ever did was disable some cosmetic mods a few times so idk if it’s my load order mistake or what but I have to start from scratch now and I’d like help adding quite a few more mods than my first playthrough

Has anyone else had problems with magnetic holster patches and weapons functionality with other weapon creations? Bubs railgun revolver’s magnetic holster patch reverts the weapon to its 1.0 version so it can’t have 4th perks attached to it or it’s quality improved
That is what happens with out of date patches. If a mod updates its patches have to as well if you want to run them. Occasionally its not necessary but generally speaking it is

There are mods that let you increase spawn rates. Waylayer is one of them.
Not sure if aimed at anyone specifically, but I'm specifically fond of the themed mods, they follow a structure and add into the game seamlessly, Watchtower and Galactic Harvest have the largest loops and replayability, while Viglance, McClarence, Luxury Homes and others add their own flavour while still fitting in.
If you mean your mods specifically, galactic harvest, your spacesuits and player homes are right up my alley, they reach (in a good way) and allows more personal and unique freedoms that most mods while also amazing don't quite give the same individuality that yours do

No way that captures all the time you've spent in the CK. Maybe you uninstalled and it reset the count?
To be fair, mine probably includes a large amount of time when I simply walked away with the CK up. Maybe you close yours more often than I do.

Also @slim sun assuming it was you I was talking about this with a few months ago (otherwise I'm just rambling to you), after finding some time to tinker, my idea of unbinding location-locked NPC dialogue for various unique NPCs seems to be not scalable.
Obviously I can't just clear the location setting for the applicable dialogue quests, or it will affect a swath of dialogue and scenes for various NPCs that really should be location-locked.
My idea of just recreating the scenes and TopicInfos in Misc/etc. seemed like it would work with some tedious effort, but I've discovered that any new infos added by a mod that don't use "shared" dialogue expect a new audio file.
No problem, I thought: I'll just hex edit the new file value (002685A7 or whatever) back to the original value (I dislike mangling my ESP to force it through xEdit and back). After discovering it was stored in little-endian format (so 0x002685A7 is 0xA78526FE) and surmounting that obstacle, I then discovered that it insists on assuming the path is according to your mod file, regardless of the file "value".
So, unless I'm missing something, the only way I'm going to get an NPC's dialogue to work outside of the location specified in the quest is to make duplicates of all the audio files and include them with my mod. That's way too much work beyond one or two NPCs, and bloats the mod and form count.
I guess I could technically remove the location requirement from the applicable quests and then painstakingly go into each form within the quests and add conditions locking everything to the location EXCEPT the dialogue I want to location-unlock...but that's even worse, and too prone to human error.
It seems Nyssa Marcano will never speak to me in space while tending bar on my ship 🙁

Question for anyone who has The Veil Creation, I noticed it mentions use of Starfield's POI system. With the changes to the POI system in the Free Lanes update is the Creation still compatible or does it require patching?
The Veil had a day one release for PS5, which means the author got early access.
Okay good to know. I just purchased the Trackers Alliance creation and was torn between getting Lyria, The New Crew, or the Veil. I've tried Derek and Robin Locke as companions but wasn't happy with either due to some buggy behavior. But since those 3 creations are all by the same author I figured I'd check one of them out. The Veil gives a big quest and a companion so it seemed the best choice. If the companion is a bust then at least I've got a good quest out of it.
Everbright is my favorite of theirs, and in large part because of the companion, although I must say I'm a huge fan of Chloe Elmore's vocal performance in The Veil.
I do like the new crew, though it is pretty limited compared to the others
New crews useful if you have fleet commander and don't wanna fill ships with generic NPCs
If you like a big crew, Lyria and The New Crew are an absolutely stellar combo, seven top quality Elite Crew who talk to each other and all have useful skills.
Worth full price, and you'd be insane not to buy when they're on sale.

No, it's just behind because the vast majority of modders got the game the same time you did, and couldn't start on our mods until then. Over a hundred creations have been updated per day since launch.

Doesn't really exist, although a couple of people are working on possible replacements.
It turns out that what PDY is doing is actually hard, and Jimsoon found a reasonable solution and executed it reasonably.
Some excellent modders have said "pfft, there's a better way, I'll just do this" and then emerged two weeks later, wild eyed and sweating, and said "never mind."

Looking for some help with an issue I've been having since the update. The problem I am having is that certain mods that are downloaded and enabled are not showing up as installed in my game. This seems to happen after I've updated the mod, though not always and it's effecting a few that haven't needing updating. I saw there was issues sometimes mods not actually updating so I took to deleting the mod and reinstalling. Still not working. Cleared my reserve space and re-download all again. Still nothing. It's the same regardless of loading into an existing save file or starting a fresh game. (This is on the Xbox X)

After updating your mods you should save your load order back out of the game turn off your console and unplug it from the wall, so you can clear your cache
I've been having the same issue where as, if I update a mod and then load into the game it doesn't always usually stay updated for some reason, so whenever I save the load order after updating exit the game and turn off the console, it usually helps

where would the Real Lights Starfield mod go under?
you know, now that we have the X-tech cores for the extractors, it probably wouldnt be much of a stretch to make cores for other materials we need. Would be a reasonable limitation that if the planet doesnt have copper you cant place an extrator for copper even with a core. BUT to be able to place an extractor for copper on to a planet that has some even if the extractor is not on the field for it.
I think this would be a good mod to have, would let us pick the site for the outpost based on what we prefer without having to run around sometimes for hours on end trying to find a site with all the resources we need, the more advanced extractors would still need the proper field for it, so if you need immense amounts of something you need to find the field.
Lorewise they would fit with HopeTech, as a natural extension of the events that led to death of Mr. Hope, after given access to the core tech by their gov, as a leg up for hope tech to survive.
Has anyone else had issues with creating new sound wem files in the creation kit after the update? I’ve adjusted settings in vwise, still every time I test the NPCs they are silent. This never happened before the April 7th update.
I'm stuck on Voice/Dialogue:
My folder paths are correct (Data/Sound/Voice/[Mod].esm/).
I'm using the Starfield Wwise Project (2021.1) and the CK 'Generate Voice' button.
I've tried PCM 48kHz Mono and ADPCM conversion profiles, but the .wem files are still silent in-game (though subtitles/lip-sync work).
This was all working perfectly before the update. Did the engine's .wem header or Archive priority change?

if you drop items on the ground and go into outpost build mode, you will get the option to move those items via the build mode, once you do that they will lock in place as if they were a built item.

It's not causing crashes, though, my game does crash from opening creations if I try to get in from launching the game. That is probably from one of my other mods and I can usually get in fine if I go from playing the game back to the main menu and then going into creations
@river valley sorry to ping you, but what exactly is your intrinity fix supposed to do, the only difference that i can tell with xedit is that the main file is a medium master and your fix a small master?
@pastel sentinel For your Creation: Gorefield - A Starfield Framework, I found a bug/conflict while using Shade's Immersive Looting that when stripping the gear off of a dead enemy, if it was affected by the death effect(s), it'll strip the effect off of the enemy as well (which then gives you the effect as an armor/clothing option you can loot 😅) Sorry if the direct ping is a problem...
It took me a solid hour to figure out why it worked. It is a riddle worth answering. You have to first understand why Intrinity broke, then understand the difference between the original entry and the override even if it looks identical to the master.
I made that fix by accident. I was just trying to figure out what was wrong, and then it started working.
ok, i looked at every entry, and every entry is marked as identical to master, I even applied a filter that only filtered out identical to master entries, and there wasn't a single one left, only the headers are different...

I am having no issue with Matilija's, and whatever issue you may be having is likely unrelated to the issue with Intrinity. The issue with Intrinity is internal formID corruption. The FormIDs in the original are all HITME's. So the data looks right in xEdit, but if you do an error check it'll give you the deets on them.
The reason the override works is that the FormIDs in the override are not HITME's, since when you override something the internal FormID structure changes. You would only be able to see the differences in a hex editor. xEdit shows them as the same, but that's because xEdit is 'translating' the two entries into what they mean to a human.

Well, it's possible Matilija's has an issue, but it is covered up by my All in One patch in a similar way... but I wouldn't know. So yes, if you knew which entries caused the problem, you could fix them in the same way.
This is only a fix for HITME's btw. If it is anything else, it won't have any effect.

Well, good luck. Check for HITME's. They are less likely in patches, but I guess it is possible. HITME's are essentially a bad FormID prefix. Instead of having the formid as like 01000812 (Which is like, a formID added by the master file), it will be 02000812, which would denote it as belonging to the first dependency. But if there's no dependency, then the prefix is largely ignored, except then it evidently breaks the new starfield version's brain.
xEdit 'translates' those FormIDs and replaces the prefix with the prefix in the load order. But internally to the file, that's how they look.
yeah, i had to deactivate a bunch of mods since they were somehow tied to matilija, and with the bug report i associated it, but possibly other mods are simply borked as well

HITMEs are more common than you might think, and they mostly get ignored, but they CAN cause issues, depending on load order, and perhaps since the update, in a new way we don't fully understand yet.

So far as I have seen, it does not. I tried resaving it from the CK, I tried changing what type of master it was, etc etc. I know you can fix a HITME by manually changing the FormID. However, that is EXTREMELY time consuming to do if there's a lot of them.

No idea. I don't have it, and I wasn't going to try it. When I stumbled across the fix, I figured it was perfect. I don't own that mod, and have no authority to redistribute. It would have had to be a patch anyways for legal reasons.

ok, it seems to be a program issue, I just remade the Matilija pdy patch in CK using CKPE, but even making it a small master, and it has the same issue with HITMEs

They are painful and meticulous to fix.
At least I was able to reduce clipping to a minimum. Cannot have it all.
I mean I probably could if I wasn't too lazy to learn the process, but weighting is SUCH A PAIN I cannot make myself learn it.

It would be nice if the CK could fix them, but it is never the case. You have to set their formids in xedit to update them.

i saved the patch as an esp and it doesnt register as HITMEs, the export into an esm (small master) does it
but I had CKPE installed (unofficial QoL update for the CK), so I removed it, but CK wont even load the plugin

no changes to the plugin other than "converting" it to small master in stock CK
the conversion process screws it up and for some reason even redpilled xedit wont let me change the formid on the packin cells
Hoping someone here can give me a little help with the Everbright mod. I've had this for quite a while and had no issues. With the latest SF update, no Alana doesn't show up in her ship at the start of the mission (The Everbright mission triggers, but she is not on the ship). In a different character save, the mission triggers but no ship. I've moved the mod's load order, I've uninstalled the mod and reinstalled. No joy. Anyone else had this problem?

Yeah, this is why when it happens to many mods, they either say they have to rebuild everything, or they just call it. It's a death sentence for a mod of any decent size.
I found your beta pack on creations. Was that put up on purpose for testing?

So my character wasn't happy about the damage on their armor and ordered a replacement on space amazon. It came in quickly.
I wished the model in the menu did have some neutral lighting, no shadows and all that. I just want to see all details of my outfits properly in there.

I honestly put the bare minimum of effort into it, just make it look good enough for my personal use. It doesnt have morphs, it doesnt have a female version, there is still some clipping here and there that I was too lazy to fix yet.
This thing doesnt even have a screen anymore because I haven't taken the time to figure out how to merge the meshes for that and body slots are very limited.
Still wished we had dynamic slots. Let it be my own choice how full I pack my character 😄

Got a question and hoping someone can help me...so...Ive never used mods but decided to get one...Mantis Player Base/Home Overhaul mod...this mod is supposed to clean up the Mantis Lair so that I can use the Mantis Lair as a base, I completed the Mantis Lair mission a short while back and just found this mod yesterday...but am confounded as to what to do...Im supposed to interact with this outpost beacon, I assume it is inside the lair...but where? Is it the silver looking thing by the bounty terminal? Ive looked at the image which the instructions on the website for this mod say but nothing happens, can someone please help or provide a walkthrough video to do this as Im feeling completely lost with this mod. Also, is there an outside beacon for the lair, if so where? I tried placing my own beacon but it wouldnt let me place it anywhere...Im still fairly new at outpost building...please help😩

@river valley I was informed that Starfield has a quirk, this quirk is that a blueprint file (BlueprintShips-Starfield.esm) and any file that has it as a master is forcibly loaded at the end of a load order screwing everything over and causing massive issues down the line (ask Robert on the xedit discord) and I noticed that your Aid and Ammo Crafting as well as your Space Mining mod have the blueprint esm as a master, unnecessarily. It IS possible to clean that master out with xedit and have the file still be functional, apparently the CK simply wrecks the file, so it is not recommended.
Would you update your files or do you want me to do it, since I am going to anyway?
I am having the exact same problem, and it's really frustrating! Thought it was just me. Have you found a fix for it? I've done clean uninstalls/reinstalls of the game, the CK, wwise, and everything, and the result is the same. The edit response window shows Y for wem and wav but the seconds are 0.00. If I restore my plugin and sound files from my pre-free lanes backup and load it, everything is fine and it works in the game. But as soon as I try to process local wavs, it loses the sound! Everytime. I also have 2021.1 wwise installed like before. I use 44100, 16 bit, mono, just like before.
Here's what I've noticed. Since I uninstalled wwise and reinstalled it, during setup, it says this when you open the wproj file:
Message 11:57:35 ModifiedSharedProperties Some new object properties have been added or obsolete properties deleted. The project file was updated. These changes will not have an impact on your project. Starfield
If I save the project and then validate the CK files, it says 2 files failed. Then, if I open wwise, it gives me that same message again. And I've tried that several times. If I validate the ck, wwise gives me that message, if I save and let wwise "auto fix" it makes the ck fail to validate 2 files. Whether I save the wwise project or not has made no difference.
My project is dead in the water if I can't process new audio. Been working on it since Oct 2024 and have 9998 lines.
Okay. Today will be the day that I devote somewhat more time to my 12d save and UC patrollin.

Thank you so much!! I missed this in my desperation to get sound again. Putting this here in case anyone else has this issue - it still didn't work till I put it back to [Audio] in the CreationKitCustom.ini, and then added the PS5 line. Processed two test lines and all is well. Facepalm moment b/c this fix makes so much sense. Wish I had looked in here days ago, been driving myself crazy.

I can't remember if it was you saying something about taking off the ring before doing something or else it will corrupt the game and you'll be stuck in swift mode indefinitely

Hmm, I don't think I've ever had reports of the effect staying on after removing the ring. What happens if you put it back on, then take it back off again? Also, is the ring just unequipped, or did you uninstall the mod? It shouldn't be possible to have the effect stuck on, since the effect only exists as a part of the mod (I'm not using a built-in effect).
But yes, you should generally unequip things before you remove the mod they're a part of (and most people will tell you not to uninstall mods during a playthrough anyway, but that comes down to your risk tolerance 😁).
yeah I did. I had to go back to many saves just to find the right one. I thought at one point I found a fix but I didn't get it. In all of that I found out how to fix saves that won't let you save anymore and that's just by deleting existing saves from far back.

So I just realised that when I kill an enemy while in scanner view, I can see their inventory from a distance. I dont know if I just never realised this or if its a new bug a new mod or update to a mod introduced.

VMP smg mod feels like its overriding every other weapon

Sadly, lots of weapon mods do that. They are WAY too dominant.
I have quite a few weapon mods installed & it really only is thr VMP for whatever reason lol

Here is a sneak peak at my next creation I am uploading to the Verified Creators Program. Its a large Outfit pack Called Settled Systems Outfitted an its going to add a ton of new outfits to the game.
Will this impact mods like those made by Wulfy or will there be a standalone version of this?

It shouldn't affect wulfy's since both his mods and this mod LL inject via scripts, and I added it visually via scripts as well. There are a couple people who have the new outfits via hard edits but I don't think any of those people have been affected by Wulfy's stuff, and if they are it would just be affected by whichever mod is loaded first. So in short yes they are compatible.
I spent so long bug-fixing that I honestly don't see them finding any issues, and if they do its something I wouldn't have found on my own so its good either way.
I just know its a process and I can only imagine the number of new mods being submitted since I seen it takes up to 4 weeks for new mods to be approved sometimes
Yeah, I think its backlogged due to PS5 releases and updates that were needed after Free Lanes.
