Had to delete Trackers because it wouldn't allow me to exit the cellblock. even after the update. one of the things i noticed after the update, when I tried to read a note or something I kept getting "Lookup Failed" messages.

you're light years ahead of me dude. the only thing i know about animations is that i am terrible at trying to do anything with animations. and decoding that stuff might as well be ancient hieroglyphics. Without a Rosetta Stone.
OOO tho if you're still here i gotta ask - melee combat in SF compared to FO4 seems very simplified, far fewer animations, no varied attacks based on input direction, etc.
did you see anything in there about sync moves? Like the killmove and counter-move system in FO4? Or at least the ability of the game to support them?
i did find that not spamming melee attack, at least in third person - and doing slower clicks / inputs about 3/4 of the way thru the attack - resulted in a three-move attack sequence o.O

ok, i have some reading ahead of me. I barely know how that stuff works, in FO4 i tweaked some of the branches that had super low RNG chances to trigger the fancy moves, to make them more common, aaaaand that's about all i know about animations š

One mod I like to see is an animation overhaul. Like I donāt mind a shared animations but I want trained soldiers, marines and mercs to have more tactical movements while civilians and others have less organized movements in combat. Not to mention maybe tie in perks with animations. Example, you hold the rifle like a newbie when you start up but overtime and leveling up, you are holding it more confidently and smartly.
Personally I wanna have much less weapon sway

iirc the short answer is that with Skyrim you could replace existing animations but getting the game to use wholesale new ones was very tricky for various reasons, hence the need for stuff like Nemesis and OAF

Does anyone know of any mods/creations that make the grav jump loading screen more immersive?
My main issue is that when the loading ends, it fades out from black into the middle of a jumping effect. If it was a white loading screen that faded out from, it would make the jump much more convincing and immersive.
I know there are mods that add animations to the loading, but those still have the fading out of black when you load in.

We won't know until the action figure diorama update arrives, but if we can place the action figures wherever we like, imagine creation mods of all sorts of dioramas to place them in! They can be set in all sorts of sets and locations, including other games and franchises! And they could be filled with detail and references to really feel immersive and sweet!

Sorry if this is the wrong chat. The Cheat Terminal mod on my game has stopped working properly. Ive completely removed and reinstalled all my mods and organized my LO, and started a new game, but the actual cheat terminal thats supposed to show up in your notes section does not show up on any saves old or new. And because im missing the note I cannot build a cheat terminal in outpost mode because its "missing materials". Anyone have any ideas? Its the only mod not functioning right now for me.

Yep, Archive2 is best. BAE has problems with certain textures.
The vanilla one is probably the best one for now. But not much should be different in the format as itās typically a hash table with the compressed contents compiled after.
Some starfield textures also use different, even older, dds headers so external extractors may need to adjust for that and/or any other curve balls (like xtcrefugee mentioned)

Hey all, I just updated Ecliptic outfitted. I have fixed some mesh issues and removed my dirty edits, I reverted the Red mile security to their vanilla state (New game required if you have already been to the Red Mile). I also added a new beret with headphones to the recruit, mechanic and scout classes. On top of that I have added a new helmet to the Heavy class which many of you may like. Lastly I added a scavenger hunt to the Vultures Roost (Ecliptic base in the Jaffa system) which includes some Unbranded versions of the Ecliptic Uniform. The update was submitted, but not released. I'm saying you can play and use it normally as long as the player character has the default body type
The issues will only be present if the player is using a non-default body typpe (body right in the middle of the circle)

Watchtower is mos def not broken, I have had it installed since I started this save and have played thru the first few missions for it. Why do you think it's WT causing the issue? How many other mods are you running, and did you check them all for conflicts?

I'm not a McClarence expert, I use DarkStar which does something similar in a very different way, so I've only played enough McClarence to observe all the Watchtower interactions for my DarkStar Watchtower Patch.
Wanted to make sure I wasn't breaking McClarence enjoyers.

All i have is base game, DLC, creations, and a Mantis armor replacer which i can't see causing issues with the DarkStar quest sooooo

Load order matters, and conflicts are a thing: there are nearly 5,000 Creations and some of them are going to conflict with others. The support is through the Discord, the author doesn't have time to provide individual support to thousands of users.

BTW, there are plenty of ways to delete items. If you jettison them in space or sell them to a vendor, at the next two week reset they leave the game entirely. There are console commands and mods to do it quicker. Two of my favorites:
- RamTech Unlimited: free mod, has an item deleter that's instant.
- Drop Off Box & Bio-Organic Convertor: Achievement Friendly, deletes items instantly and gives you XP and Credits for them.
Those both include Contraband, which makes them handy for RP "I'm turning it in", but I'm with you on we should have a way to do that more immersively.
One interesting option I've been testing for DaAngryMechanic: his "Singularity SOLD Series - Crimson Fleet Player Home" is an expansion of the player apartment on The Key that you get for completing the Crimson Fleet questline and siding with the Fleet.
It functions just fine if you side with SysDef, although you have to use the lift to get to it. It has a place to store contraband, and a vendor who will buy it. The orbiting SysDef fleet doesn't scan you and doesn't care.
On my todo list is a more immersive option, but it's not my immediate priority and I'd love to see other, better modders implement their own takes.
Also you can clean up some save bloat by being a loot goblin: if you discover 14 wrenches in the world and leave them, you have 14 forms being tracked. If you pick up 14 wrenches and then drop them into a box or something, you have 1 form with a count of "14".
My saves are all under 10 MB each so far, so i don't think i'm hitting bloat. Also, the drive my saves are on has half a terabyte of free space; so something else is going on.
(and i'm already a loot goblin lol)
I will look into Drop-Off Box in the meantime, sounds as close to "destroy this abomination" as we currently have lol
You can hit the reference count limit with a very small number of mods, it all depends on the mods.

Does anyone know if there is a mod that makes it so the grav dash is not only going forward but in the direction you are moving?
I was playing Starfield for the first time and I put a ton of hours into it, so would really like to finish and get to unity. I just need to at least finish the main quest line, preferable also the crimson fleet story line. I've been having an increasing amount of issues in the game, but the biggest issue now is every time I try to board my ship, the game crashes. I'm all but positive this is because of mod issues. Before starfield, I almost never used mods and didn't know the do's and don't of using them. I especially didn't know until WAY too late it's a bad idea to remove mods mid playthrough. I have the crash report here and hoping someone can help me make sense of it so I can have the game be functional enough to where I can finish the game and get to unity.

something wrong with the navmesh; the dev knows about the issue but apparently doesn't know how to fix it
(also it has the wrong aesthetic for my ship but that's a smaller problem lol)

@lilac geyser yes I have and run into no issues with Starfield tool, because when it starts the mission it work for a moment and then it crashes the game all the time, if i have it disable it works fine for the game without watch tower

Are there any mods/creations for miniatures of the cities/towns in Starfield? Like a model or a snow globe, that you can place around like decorations? It could be something you can either craft, buy, or collect.
I know some made ones that are globes of the planets in the game.
There are about 12 common snow globes in game via books. You can place anywhere. You mean more of them ?
If there's already miniatures of the Cities in the game, then nevermind. I was not aware of that.
You have to understand that just because the game works without WatchTower, doesn't mean WatchTower has a bug. Lots of people, including myself, run WT without crashing.
What you have is a mod conflict. Some OTHER mod you have is having a fistfight with WatchTower when they are both installed at the same time.
The best way to resolve conflicts is to look in xEdit and see if something is overwriting something it shouldn't.
If you've not much experience with that, the simpler way is this:
- Enable WatchTower.
- Disable half of your other mods.
- See if you crash.
- If you do, then the culprit is in the half still active.
- If you don't, then the culprit is in the half you disabled.
- Repeat this process with the "suspect list," disabling half of them at a time, until you have ONE mod left that, when it and WT are both enabled, crash the game; but when either of them are alone without the other, it does NOT crash.
At that point you will have identified the conflict, and will have to contact one or both mod authors to tell them what you found.

I've been wondering. Are there any mods like Neon Vertigo, where it brings Neon closer to its concept art?
I ask, because it looks almost perfect, but bugs out a couple of missions, and other mods that affect Neon need a compatibility patch to work with it.
Probably not. At least on Creation Club. Nexus shows some impressive options, but go a little too far IMO.
I'll just have to make sure to be ready when those obstacles occur during those missions.
Creation Club and Creations are different things, and the difference is substantive. People know what you're talking about when it's Starfield, since Starfield never had Creation Club, but for the other games it will lead to you getting wrong answers.

I moved the ramp much closer to the nose this time around, and it made a world of difference for the bay interior (I didn't have to chop up the bay innards)

Your new Crimson Fleet mod adds a bunch of new clothes and suits to the Fleet, as well as makes the Crimson Fleet take off their spacesuits in safe atmospheres. You already have another paid creation that adds a few new Fleet armors, clothes, and also makes them take off their spacesuits in safe atmospheres. Are these two mods safe to play together?
Are you kidding??? Landing bays are one of the weakest aspects of ship building, most of them force you to have ladders, there's only the one that has horizontal entry to ship and it doesn't go well with most ship styles. This bridge would be godmode if it was combined with, say, Graf's interiors updates to the Cabot and Taiyo bridges to make use of all the empty space š®
side rant: all three tiers of Taiyo cockpit, including the so-called "bridge" Shogun version, are EXACTLY THE SAME

i am looking for (a lot) of help trying to create a mod that fuses beards, (wildman and ClassicBeard). i deleted the beard from wildman bc i only want the mustache... I am unable to see anything in blender besides .gITFs which i got from exporting the meshes from nifskope... the .nif files i got from BAE are not visible in blender when imported. i am so lost in this modding process... any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm still new to Starfield, so if I'm missing something, please explain it to me.
For mods/creations that add player-made POIs, dungeons, hubs, quests, etc, to planet surfaces, how does it affect the POIs that came with the vanilla version of the game?
For example, Tiny Reasons to Explore, Forgotten Frontiers, Defying Fire, etc.
Do they replace them? Do they make the maps more dense with POIs? Or does the game repeat its POIs, and these player-made ones just increase the variety and reduce repetition?

Most of my mods have new POIs added to the POI system so let me explain how it works:
The game has a system called planet content manager (PCM) which spawns locations when a player lands in a landing zone. Whether new POIs interfere with existing POI spawn chances depends on how they are added.
For example there is a main branch for dungeons. If there are 50 dungeon locations to pick from (the game has a lot more) and a POI mod adds 5 new POIs then the pool to pick from is larger.
Whether they make the map denser depends on whether variables are changed that control how close a POI can spawn to other POIs.
Also multiple POI mods can exist next to each other without breaking each other (unless the modder borks the existing branch structure)
Ok. So I'll have to ask the modder specifically to know how their mod affects the game and other specific mods.

Itās a seperate pool that is customizable via gameplay options (you can tweak rarity, disable certain locations and so on). It shouldnāt be incompatible with anything from what I can tell.

@lilac geyser I saw your post about Cora in #1402355603635966003, try the following. Unassign Sam from your ship, and go to the lodge and wait for both of them to return there. Then go to Venus and find a civilian outpost or anywhere else you can sleep, and sleep for 24 hours. If you then return to the lodge, she'll hopefully be reset.

(Xbox) Yknow what still bugs me about Falklands? For some reason even now it crashes whenever I try to modify my ship at the "dealer" in New Atlantis even though i dont have anything that should be effecting it (even in a load order with just Falkland)
It works perfectly on PC and ive mitigated the issue by using darkstar's patch to build from that mod's terminal in another city

I'd love to have a skill that adds more functionality to the combat slide
Level 1: Slide longer (first and third person)
Level 2: Do 25% more damage while sliding
Level 3: Time slows down while you are sliding
Level 4: Increase all previous effects plus add a 30% chance to knock enemies that you hit while sliding
Have you had any issues with the Ouroboros skill will using this mod? I got it up to rank 3 but at that point the revive effect locks my character up and cant do anything but pause the game š«£
I honestly dont recall using that specific skill, would need to test that.

the falkland hq is notoriously overloaded with references in new atlantis, a city already overloaded with references; i would suggest downloading the "no hq" patch for now, while halmere works on the next update for falklands, which will move the hq to its own space station

Anyone know of a mod to disable contraband for certain items? namely the contraband introduced in the watchtower mod.
I mean there are some mods that give you a 100% chance at evading contraband scans while having contraband on your ship and/or person.

Does anyone know how to fix "couldn't connect to server" when trying to restore saved load order on xbox ? It's been doing thud since yesterday I never had this issue before I cleared save data & cache and reinstalled

It's unrelated to the "usual" LOD errors people get when they have archives in StarfieldCustom that they shouldn't.

The Ridable NAT mod is bugged for the Vanguard questline, spaceport attack. Work around involves uninstalling, reinstalling, and reestablishing prior LO. I've no idea were to report Creations bugs, so here we are. I really wish BGS would go back to their in-house sm and forum format. Hopefully the mod author will see this if this is not already known.

I'm on Xbox and I don't know if I'm missing other mods I need to make things work proper, but textures and bodies seem to be clipping out or look wrong and something tells me it's because of something I'm doing rather than the mods, so I was hoping to just get some help if that was okay.

this is one of the reasons im holding back on using too much Creations since they released Creations
there so many cool things i wanna try but first I wanna see what BGS releases first since its likely any new update or expansion DLC might break the current state of Creations/Mods
so best to keep in mind to balance out playthroughs
try to have one save for playing new BGS content
and your main save that you are using Creations on
Anyone else having the problem they have a few mods that say neex an update everytime you go into the creation menu . it are always the same and after updating they show up again when game is restarted . pretty annoying

Honestly Iāve deleted Watchtower and McClarence for preparation of Terran Armada and the Free Lanes. Only mods I have are the official Bethesda mods, some weapons, tank girls armor mod, and all of wulfys armor overhauls
Oh and Redgrave and some of those other colony mods
It's probably the best way to go what with the heavy background overhaul were anticipating

@hasty sky apologize for the ping. Just wanted to let you know there's an interesting conflict between codos crater and organic resources decluttered. It blocks the progress of the quest to collect the sap as it gets turned into regular analgesic, but it doesn't block progress of the activity seemingly as he took the regular analgesic for that one (I didn't have the option when doing the quest) I don't know if this is something you're worried about but figured you might want to know.

Yes. The Freestar Test Crate is known and fixed in a submitted update. The loot issue with the outfits is a known bug that I left in for the time being as peple seem to like it.

The only two camo patterns I will work with are those provided by Bethesda. Too many requests for custom camo's or digital. I did a digital one for the Civilian and Tactical and it works too well, hidin all detail
Is there a possibility of making a mod that might be able to recenter your ship builds manually? For people such as myself who build asymmetric builds, I always run into the issue where my ship goes off center and spawns off center on the lander as a result. I'm guessing that might be difficult to do considering how many things are just locked into the builder menu. So I guess then Id ask if it were possible to create a ship mod with invisible parts and weightless parts that still register into the ship builder to offset the set center point of the ship build

Is there a way to toggle flip-merging in the CK ship builder like you can in the actual game? You can't do it by default, and that makes using certain parts that have to be flip-merged (i.e. ASC Deimos cockpit pieces) impossible.

Yeah, MWH messes with the Sarah's outfit morphs, this affects Hjalmere's version of that outfit too.
I am using magnetic holster so that might be the issue to. And thats good, I was just going to suggest to make the skins for the base ecliptic suit instead of various suit.
Magnetic holsters repaths the vanilla morph for a few outfits. This basically breaks them. The author is MIA so do not expect a fix

does anyone have experience modding hairs? I meshed 3 hairstyles together, on both the hairs, and their facebones, and imported the .morphs to the facebones. I joined them, exported them, put them in nifskope, "replaced" the orgiinal BGS file and set the materials in nifskope. When i bring to the creation kit, it is always invisible. Can anyone see what I'm missing?
I've included images of Blender setup, Nifskope's next to originals (for both .nif and facebones.nif) and what it should look like in game.
I have done this same method with beards and mustaches, and that works.

@tender stump Have you heard of any mods that will break the ability to to purchase ships? Like the menu to view or modify a ship at a ship vendor does not come up at all. Iām using SVF and I know now that DarkStar conflicted with it. I uninstalled DarkStar, but Iām not sure why I canāt open the menu for ship modifications/purchases.

So this might be a weird one, I just got the premium edition and just got back on and all my mod are just showing their esm and there file size at 0.994mb. There also showing has being not downloaded but when I load up the game all my mod are still there? Im very confused
In creations. Open your Load Order. See if the mods are there and have check mark on them. If so you are good. There are issues with the Updates portion in the main list. Go to Owned and see how they look in there. Should be fine. Premium edition - takes longer than most mods to install.
Its like 1 to 5 hours for Premium Edition to install.

Creations - All Ship Parts Unlocked by Evansy ( it is also on Nexus but why waste the room on your desktop. ) Most parts are avail on your Outpost landing pad - I sometimes am building in Falkland systems in NA and need to go to the NA Landing pad and use the Ship Tech there and hop back to Falkland. But most parts are available (in most places).
I'm still surprised that there's not really any that put all parts at all vendors
They all seem to be outpost which id rather avoid at all costs personally
If you mean "all vanilla parts", I think there is one. If you mean "all vanilla and modded parts", that would require updates for every mod.
