Yes, I get inspired by something, then get started, and it soon becomes way different. It's a fun process, I just get stuck at the end. I am horrible at decorating, so I sometimes bounce and start something else but I am pushing through my current one, come hell or high water.

For sure, I usually do as well, and a lot of times it's because I just don't have the objects I need, so I go a different direction. But sometimes I pieced together something custom if I am really tied to an idea.

Personally I'd like it better if the gray areas were lighter, so the contrast wasn't so strong with the tan.
That’s an idea I tried making them brown and the brown areas grey and it looked weird, I’m trying to go for a kinda scared trooper from Star Wars look
I’m going to add red and light blue strips
I would make the soft padded armor pieces the same hue as the metal but lower the saturation and make it dark. The undersuit region, I would make it a blue for contrast. But the scheme is nice as is. Nifskope and Substance Painter really fail to capture how the lighting looks in-game so I would see how it looks in the game first.
That is a good idea blue definitely goes with the beige but I’m gonna add in the armour I’m still playing around with it but I definitely like the colour beige on the armour

The shield is mostly for display atm, that'll change eventually
Yeah I feel that. I have had some annoying hours with grip animations because there are so many different stances and without animation tools its almost impossible to have it look good for all of them.
For now it's, do what you can

In Bethesda games it is about reducing clipping most of the time rather than completely eliminating it.

Cyberpunk also did a great job especially because NPCs are also moving in dialogue. But also Cyberpunk is only 1st person so they didnt need to care about 3rd person player anims at all

Your pathing/ Are you replacing the vanilla NIF or will you create a new NIF? You can also apply an LMS to the Armor ID in the CK and avoid new NIF's entirely.

I use McClarence Outfitters: Legendary Customization for every play through to do my character equipment and weapons build.
The problem is every time I start a new game I have to go through all the quests in this mod to get to the point where I can use all of the services. In order to trigger the quests, I use another mod that gives me an infinite amount of equipment and weapons. However, using this approach, it still takes me about an hour and a half to get to the weapons services of this mod.
Would any of you very experienced mod writers consider creating a start new game mod/patch for McClarence Outfitters? It would be a simple mod that when a new game is started, the player would have the option to advance McClarence Outfitters to the point, they can use all of the services without having to go through all of the quests?
I think this is a mod that a lot of other players beside myself would use, but then I could be wrong so I’d like feedback on my idea .

Made me a nautiloid farm in fermi. Memory substrate selles for like 400 a pop. That's my new business. Just had to build a few other outpost for water/ fiber (to feed the animals) and helium.

Idea is, Nova's armour mod looks very Mjolnir so ... Taller player character and BOOM Spartan
If you're on PC if you open the console "player.setscale 1.1" would make you spartan sized but I'm not aware of any mods that changes player scale specifically
And I'm dying to see Nova's armour show up on creations
We all are, that armor is gonna go STUPID while tearing your way through Starborn.
With "the whole team is here" you'd rock up with an entire Spartan team... Starborn? I'll turn them into dead sworn
This only works if you also have engine fixes since the game constantly resets the player scale, which is why there isn't any mods for it

I had a feeling that was the case, why all NPCs are more or less same height isn't it
the scale reset only affects the player, NPCs can differ in size just fine - but if the scale is really different to normal they do funny stretching and stuff when using animations
Not even with a custom.ini and script set to load after everything? I know doing it with mods are hard because of pilot seats and other interaction points
A little like kids do when they use furniture that doesn't have kids animations lol
You could run a script that changes the scale every 0.1 seconds, that's the interval the engine itself resets the player scale - but I'm not sure you really want to do that
you'll probably still notice your size changing all the time

Tried using both parts of the “Halo Spartan Armor Collection (Port)” on Creations but it seems to have missing arm textures in first person and hasn’t been updated in over a year

So, I was using the mod Anti-Unity and loved it. It's been pulled from Creations. I've still got the files, but it's not showing up in the game anymore. Any way I can still use the mod, since I still have the files?

No clue. I just went to play one day and it no longer shows up on my LO as a mod... Just "nightly01.esm" and can't find it on Creations.
I checked in the lodge, no terminal.
Another mod that I miss that did that was having the starborn trader in the lodge

Creation kit - how do you remove unused forms?
I made a duplicate and no longer need it, so deleted it, but it just tagged it as deleted and still shows up in the editor. Not used anywhere.

I can't, because it's not in my LO on the Creations menu on one device. 🙄 I have the game installed on my laptop and on my kids' Legiongo. I can enable it on the LeGo, but not on my laptop, because it's not listed in the LO on the laptop.
I've "saved" the load order to Beth from the Lego bout it's still not showing up in the list on the laptop.
Ugh what a headache.
Copy the file from one machine to the other
I do have the files copied over. They're in the Data folder. They're just not showing up in the Creations menu

There are two data folders, on in My Games/Starfield and one in the game install directory if its the Steam version.

What is the “wire spool” considered in resources?
does anyone know how to change the credit value of ship parts in the CK? I've been looking manually for ages and cannot find them. it doesn't seem to be in base forms or items.
I like using the modular Argos Extractors mod.. achievement friendly, and the habs really work with the environment.
Because I can’t wire spool anywhere in the cheat terminal and I don’t feel like driving everywhere in creation to find it.

Here is the latest update submitted, still awaiting testing I believe, hopefully live soon. This was more of a quality improvement update plus some essentials like the custom skins working on the player pilot in drone flight mode etc...
v1.1 Patch Notes
Bugfixes:
- Companions no longer get angry when hit by gas payloads
- PlayerAlly faction members won't report assault from gas drone attacks
- Fixed long black screen caused by vanilla follower wait function - now runs asynchronously (followers may delay stopping in remote drone mode)
- Enemy drone blade FX corrected - removed duplicate static/rotating blade effects
New Features:
- Custom skins supported - gear now clones from player
- Fake player better matches real player clothing/spacesuit display using vanilla conditions (ActorShouldShowSpacesuit/ActorShouldShowSpacesuitHelmet). Still unequips helmet with spacesuit - may change based on cosmetic mod compatibility
- Drone operator enemies can now drop payloads and drones
- Enemy drone LED rings show combat states: Red=combat, Yellow=searching, Green=peaceful
Rebalancing:
- Player explosives: +200 damage boost to offset disadvantages. Max explosives perk bonus: +50%. Throwables lack weapon mods/legendary bonuses and have distance falloff, but excel at multi-target damage
- Poison: +48 damage increase. Now strongest total damage payload, rewarding patience against tanky organic enemies. Toxic payload cost increased by 2 toxin resources due to higher lethality
- Enemy drone explosives: -100 damage to reduce one-shot potential. Drones remain powerful and hard-dodging like Fallout's Fat Man - approach cautiously
As for the updates for the free cam filming not alerting enemies and no rotary blade sounds etc... That is in the current development cycle however this is still being worked on but will definitely update folks when we've submitted it!
I don't think it says anything about the alien enemies not detecting the drone or other NPCs talking to the drone or chasing it to talk and the drone exploding, for cinematic use since the alien enemies constantly chase the drone.

Hey all, I had a quick question about the process anyone uses to take outfits from the game, edit them in blender and then add them back into the game with character morphs and all that data, as I have not been able to find any info online about this that has worked for me. Mostly just looking for pointers to where anyone has found out how to do this or what steps and pitfalls others have encountered when attempting this.

Some scammer trying to scam in here.
Those generic patches were only ever a compatibility fix to make sure that SVF wasn't accidentally removing some other mod's added keywords. As of v1.6.0, SVF no longer edits any vendor records, so that patch is obsolete.
Will there be anything added in place to add all the modules to vendors? I haven't found an alternative mod that was as effective
I know I've seen some out there. I want to say there's a decent one called USU (Ultimate Shipyards Unlocked) on Nexus, but I don't know if that ever made its way to the Creations website or not.
Only ones on creations affect NA, Akila and Neon but don't include the smuggling gear plus the patch you did affects the terminal in Falkland which is incredible for ship building conveniently

You'd have thought so but I assume most folk are using your patch since it works a treat alongside a lot of the key ship building mods

It could just be renamed, but then you run in to the whole compatibility problem that this SVF update was designed to solve, and I really don't want to have to update compatibility patches every time a new ship module mod comes out.
If anything, I'll end up having to make another lookup table type system that is what's used for SVF.

This week HeroicPie released a new weapon mod and the last one still isn't fixed. And some of their older mods could also need some updates (still have no custom icons and stuff)
There have been other examples of mod authors doing this as well.

These are not directly bad but the effort that has been put into some of them feels mid at best. I revisited some of HeroicPies weapon mods for example after testing some of bub200s - and suddenly you realise how lacking they feel.

To me, BGS selling a single suit for $5 is absurd.
To someone else, it's a steal.
These are paid creations, sold over Bethesdas store. That makes them all look legitimate. There is no rating system (other than likes). No review system. No proper refund system. When you bought a creation, you will not get your money back. At best, you can get the credits back. But the money is still at Bethesda.
Without knowing anything about that mod, depending on how old that mod is, any such updates may still be in QA. They take quite some time lately to approve updates. Just fyi

I am not sure how much Bethesda has control over the credit purchases itself since these are handled by the platforms itself and like Steam for example says big that you can't refund credits at all, like it says with any such things for other games
I also "refunded" two creations so far with no issues, but it's still not a real refund system. You literally sign that you renounce your right for a refund when you buy the credits.
Creations are just files on your computer. Kinda hard to force someone to remove it once they've already got it.

anything, once a level lists hits 255 you're game is toast
but most LLs dont even have 100 items in it, so its quite a while off until someones hits that

pretty much yea, but I think of it like placing a cup of water under a dripping sink, eventually you'll spill
DefaultAddItemToLeveledList <- Default script that ships with the game which you attach to a quest and fill in the properties with the LL you want to inject into and the items.
Its a list of items, actors or spaceships that are used to spawn them in. For example a loot LL for a weapon stand may has 4 items in it, each item for a certain level or above. So if youre like level 2 the weakest version of the weapon spawns. If you're level 50+ the highest version of the weapon spwans.
or like this, which is a LL containing books. Instead of manually choosing a book, you place a marker that has this LL linked and the game picks 1 book at random from the LL.

yeah pretty much almost everything that spawns in uses a LL, like this picture shows a bunch of LLs for different suits. Each suit and quality got its own LL. Its a whole nested thing lol

When you say attaching the script to a quest, does that have to fire every time they load up the game for the stuff to show up, or is it once a done: IE: After the quest fires and runs the 'add bucket hat to helmet LL', does said bucket hat stay there, or every time the game loads does it need to fire the script again?

Its a one time thing, once its in its in - just make a "run once" and "start game enabled" quest with that script attached.
There is also a papyrus function to revert the LL to default MyLeveledItem.Revert() - BUT this will remove any injected items from any mods, not only from your mod.

It really depends on what you're doing. If you want to add a weapon to the loot pool, you usually make a LL for your weapon with the different quality tiers, and inject that LL into the loot LL, which is vanilla.

Yeah. There's a lot of low effort mods. Some don't have enough value to be sold imo. And some only remove things from the game.

Do you have to do any tweaking to enable weapons/armor to spawn with legendary perks attached or is that generated on the spot? Does every weapon have to have a premade version that has the perks attached added to the LL?
btw an example for nesting to giving a CF pirate a gun would be this:
LLI_CrimsonFleet_AssaultDefaultRole -> LL_WeaponTheme_AssaultDefaultRole -> LL_Weapon_Ranged_Rifle -> LLS_Weapon_Ranged_Rifle_ByNPCFaction (this LL has conditions on each item to check for the faction of the NPC to determine which guns are allowed to be used) There is a selection of like 20 guns in here, so if game picks the Grendel as example the LL chain continues with -> LL_Weapon_Grendel -> LL_Weapon_Grendel_Simple -> Grendel

Legendary perks need to be added manually via a LegendaryItem form which you'd put in the LL too I think, haven't done much with legendaries yet
But I am not sure if this only applies to having a legendary weapon with set perks
or if random perks needs a similar setup
It's best to just look through a bunch of vanilla LLs to see how they are setup and work
There is even a button in CK "preview calculated result" that displays what random stuff might get picked form the top LL
This button of course isn't useful for script injecting stuff, as those aren't in the LL in CK, but it's useful to preview your custom LLs

Hey, thanks for the heads up. No idea if you are going to watch my new stream or not but I am going to be honest I am quite disappointed. The model itself looks fine but it all has a vibe of "bought a model, put it into the game, called it a day"
If I am wrong on this and you made the models yourself I apologise but then again I have to questio some design decision.
- No workbench icons. These are super easy to generate in the CK.
- Why do both barrel options and both laser options look the same
- Why are there like 20 muzzle options that all have the same effect and the same description text. Two of the muzzles are the same model if I am not completely wrong.
I like the overall model, and the animations are well adapted as always, but still I feel there is a lack of effort here compared to what I seen from some other weapon mod makers.
I honestly think workbench icons are extremely pointless

Might be pointless to you but I feel like icons are an important part of it and even Bethesda seems to think that, why else would they include an option to generate them right into the CK?

Dont ask me, thats how I got it to work. Bub200 told me when I had issues to make it work that I should try loose files.

Its super weird imo that Bethesda only included workbench icons but no way to generate UI icons or others. Why are they so complicated with stuff all the time.

there are templates for the HUD weapon icons, all others are pretty much hardcoded like weapon icons were previously too
