Ya, im gonna have to pull out the habs and get screenshots of the layout. Then get a bunch of the structural parts. Alot are longer thin ships that will make it simple to use screenshots for it.
I take screenshots of the ships I want to redo from a couple of angles, transfer them to my phone and use that as a guide to build them in the next NG+. A way to save the blueprints would be great though. Could that be done as a mod I wonder?
I would think. Ive seen mods that add in custom ships others made that you buy at the landing pad

I made a mod in Starfield! For those that never had enough credits, or were a high enough character level, to complete some of these builds, now you can enjoy them without compromise.
All vanilla, non-glitched ship builds, to enjoy as-is, or ...
I added that mod, they're good ships, very well done
How difficult would it be to make this kind of mod? I have a couple of designs I always build that I think work well and wouldn't mind giving it a try to make a mod.

if its all under 1 packin it seems fine but just 1 layer and this

tldr dont packin a packin cause now i can move my machine without it crashing the game

outpost habs do the same thing when moved once they are placed. same with certain generators. they correct themselves when the catch gets cleared. at least they do for me.
I'm confused - I have Plugins.txt Enabler but MO2 gives me an error with it installed, however without it my plugins cannot be enabled, so what now?
You can use the in-game Creations menu to enable your mods

Anyone know how to add New presets to base game? People want my ChargenMenu presets on Xbox and i don't know where to even begin. i asked a few of the mod authors who have released some but, shocker, 2 weeks no reply.
Provided you launch the game from within MO2, yes. The game has to know they are there.
@eager pier yes... whether you want to going into in-game creations WILL mess with your load order, especially if you use MO2 or Vortex.. be prepared to re-do it in your tool of choice before entering a game

I made my "repair all easy button" -- it's almost there! It repairs everything except Fabricators (including greenhouses and animal facilities) and Reactors -- works on everything else.... anyone got an idea why .Repair() DOESN'T work on these items?

so these should work perfectly fine now...fixed the crashes when moving them and the persistant lights also increased the prize array and it should work on xbox now

I don't have a "real" solution, but could you take a hacky approach and have your button also add and remove 1 power from the nearest beacon via ActorValue?
(caveat: I have no idea how outposts work because I've never used them; I've just come across potentially relevant ActorValues while working on other things)

I'll give it a try, but for this 10 seconds, I'm going to let it stew out there for folks, and go back to my "nuke it from orbit" that i was going to build for xbox folks to be able to clear out stubborn outposts
Looks like AV PowerGenerated might be of interest here. It's used by things that generate power, so applying it to a beacon might be weird, but you could probably come up with something.
@sly ocean that's the one the generators use to decide how much power they put out ... I override it in ZO Denser Outposts and AIO 🙂 There's also the "radiation distance" which determines how far away its power will reach out to power something -- default is 300 meters, but if you build big bases with stuff (like mine) then you could get into a situation where you have power on one side, and stuff that won't power up on the other... but to account for that i have generator right nest to the objects i'm destroying/repairing
so I override that to 500 meters too, to match my outpost increased radius
but have tested with "vanilla outpost load" as well as my modded ones
the only thing i can see is that Builders and Reactors had a pack-in flag on them

This is really driving me insane ... I make a mod in the CK, I save my .esp, works flawless. In CK, I use "Convert Active File to ... Small Master", and both my .esp and .esm files end up 0Kb. I really don't know where to turn to. Can anyone help me with this?
I’m having a problem with my snapping habs leaving things behind at the moment so maybe
Mine are leaving floating walls after being moved. You don’t see it at first though, it’s only after you reload the game that they show up
They can’t be interacted with either so can’t be deleted, they’re just there
Don’t know if they would clear up eventually like the vanilla hab light remnants do, but I’m trying to figure out exactly what’s happening to cause them in the first place
Don’t think I have any packins inside pack ins with them, but I do know that they are instanced but not static
might just depend on the form type or something idk
I'm loving the decorations mods , I had this right before you updated it so had to re add some stuff. But looking forward to hopefully getting the decor from the tracker allianc, mainly the skulls and the ability to mount helmets to walls.
I have a whole predator Hunting ship vibe so a trophy room with skulls or Helmets mounted on skulls would be a nice touch.
Trackers alliance is coming in part two. Its the cell im starting with.

Yup SFBGS003 has new items for Ck, its required when creating a new plugin to include them. Thats why my Emporium requires it, for future additions.
But the computer screens in skullys emporium have a Galbank screen that looks like a stock data charts. So it felt on brand with a huge crypto sitting in the middle of the desk and Stock data and bank stuff on both screens

Weirdly yes, though I think it might be something to do with the snapping behaviors triggering it because I think it’s the walls that were attached to another hab or an airlock that tend to make these ghosts
same thing with lights they could stay after deleting

Yes, but I fixed it, I used to fully quit the game and restart now everything seems to connect like before
I found that using "place doors anywhere", I had to physically add all of the connection points I wanted to use manually.

I noticed that if I installed Avontech via Creations. I am missing 1/4 of the parts. I removed Avontech from Creations. Installed via MO2 2.5.2DEV5 and all parts are available. Just interesting 👀
Yea I get that sometimes too. I even tried to put like my order by like perks and traits first since that what you get at the beginning of the game but that doesn't seem to work
I also found out if you give your companion any armor they don't wear it at all in the game

it's based of the tv show stargate, but basically you input a 7 symbol address and it will then dial that address like a rotary telephone and if it's a valid address it will activate
i'm still working out a good method of showing the player the addresses that isnt just a pdf file
the entire case is 1 item to be built
its going to be in the emporium AIO Update, and a separate mod for everyone 🙂

a real vibroblade is the size a Tanto
false, the first iteration of the vibro blade was in kotor and they were torse length

these weird red guard-looking blades they carry are also "vibro,blades" when in reality the term "vibro-blade" applies to any sort of cutting tool with a motor that vibrates the blade of the weapon.

So for some reason I cannot download the Stellar armory mod, I go ahead and download the patch for it. But when I go to download the armory mod itself it just freezes everything up
Now I have the "Reloading ..." Forever text... Which means I now have to delete saved data and reload all mods back. I have to make a note to myself to not download the Stellar armory mod again. Even with the patch it freezes up the creations menu
That's one thing I do dislike about this game and mods, if one mod messes it up I know how to spend a good 20 minutes or more going through this process.
But I enjoy the game with the mods, so I just deal with it but it is annoying though 😂

Yeah, I think that was the limitation on PS4/PS5 and XBox for Skyrim and FO4; console is apparently hard disabled.
If you could actually get it to work, we could make Outpost Anywhere, and a bunch of other things.

If you could engage the console on XBox, we could probably even figure out a way to initiate the text input mechanism and let people enter their own commands.

In my experience in 12 years making Bethesda mods, any time a certain subset of users encounters something unexpected in the context of a mod, it's a bug and the mod's fault. Unlucky drop RNG = your loot list is bugged. Interaction doesn't work the way they hoped it would work but rather the way it says it works = your mods have compatibility issues and are not meant to be used together. Broken vanilla spell = your perk overhaul has bugged perks. They meet a vanilla enemy and it doesn't go the way they thought it would = your mod is imbalanced. Game crashes = always your fault no matter what. Etc.

I don't know about the Starfield CK specifically, but for the Skyrim CK, the crashes are a pomodoro feature to remind you to take a 5 minute break waiting for it to reload. 🙂
There's a good chance there's nothing on your side to fix. 🤔

Look at your pagefile size. You may be running out of room on the hard drive due to it filling up. Just a thought. Its not a ram issue obviously. Each app used occupies the Pagefile. It grows and grows. https://www.pugetsystems.com/support/guides/what-is-pagefile-and-how-to-adjust-it-2243/
Each app. ck opens these windows and think of each as a separate app.

Just a note. Your ram is 48 gig, CK suggests X3 or more of the ram size for CK to run properly. So if still an issue increase.
generally you should not be changing your swapfile size
simply making sure you have adequeate room for the swap is enough.
Windows is inherently lazy on swap, and often uses it when it has real RAM available.
Leaving it auto managed, or 1:1 match to your RAM are really the only two viable/reasonable choices these days.
Yeah I never unstood the CK requirment of 3x page size to the ram. But its in the instructions. Auto should work.

I'm not even sure what you mean by the question - "turn off bloom" -- but a lot of folks here are a lot smarter than me 🙂
If you mean internal walls I’m finishing up a mod that adds those to the build menu at the moment
so, the bloom effect in SF is like, waaayyyy over the top for me and I wanna turn it off. there used to be stuff in a couple of ini files I caould change and that fixed it but the last update borked it
PC, you should be able to do it in starfieldcustom.ini still, doesn't appear to be in game settings to adjust in-game.
xbox, you may just be out of luck

I think on Xbox it would require someone to change all the LUTs to having milder or zero bloom individually, but I could be very wrong about that

There's never been an option to turn it off in the settings unfortunately

On PC setting shadow quality to low pretty much kills the bloom effect. It makes the lighting look pretty flat though.
Huh, bummer, because I like the shadowing, just the overly glare-y lighting makes many situations difficult to see in. Oh well, hopefully they will put a setting in one day. Thank you for all y'all's replies though
Try adjusting reflections and volumetric lighting as well. Not all the graphic settings are exposed in the in-game menu. An example is LOD render distance which is set from the presets low, medium, high, etc. If you use the low preset, you get very poorly rendered objects in the far distance. If you use the high or ultra preset then adjust all the sliders below to low, you still get the high detail distant objects.

Actually that leads me to a quick question, is there any way to make it so constructable objects can clip ever so slightly through the interior hab shell walls using the CK?
The little pipes around the bottom of the walls, and the ceiling curves in some of the habs make placing my walls tricky in some of the glass and science habs
Did they change how timescale works after the latest update? None of the timescale mods seem to work anymore

Got to test this lighting on Xbox because that’s where all my big builds are, so the best way for me to see how it’s looking in a fully furnished hab
But for folks interested in the lighting changes for glass habs mod, should I leave the light fittings exactly the same, or change them to the lower profile ones that allow more flexibility for things like wall placement?
The big drop down fluorescent light fittings really restrict placement options for tall items, so on my custom built habs I’ve opted for less obtrusive ones, but wasn’t sure if that would put people off if I changed the light fittings in the vanilla habs along with the light settings which are the main focus of the mod
Personally, having more placement options would be preferable to lighting.
That’s what I thought, I think I’ll swap them out, and if people hate it I can always do a second version with the OG fittings
But, I just worked around the wall placement in the past before mods were a thing anyway 🙂

Yes, the mods have made it a whole new game for me. Ship and outpost building are my two favorite activities
Mine too, and I figured out a lot of different ways to get more out of the vanilla build menu than was perhaps intended, but all of them are kind of a faff, so not having to do a lot of place, FT away, FT back, etc just to put things where I want them would be great
I love building in the creation kit since that’s near limitless possibilities, but there’s also something really satisfying about building in the game too even if it is a real pain in the ass

I have these slot machines acting normal in outpost but i test in the ship and it will cycle packin with lights and the nested one
so like 2 layers of packins work fine for outpost but not ship

And i was sent a comment to stop advertising. I spent 246hr building the emporium mod just for someone to make a copy, rename it and upload elsewhere. But if its full of viruses, its on me. Yeah, usually they go away on their own with the vanilla outpost habs. Have you tried going and taking a long nap on Venus to see if resetting the cell will make them go away?

Can you clarify what you mean by this please. When you command them to sit in a chair, do they sit? What options do they have when sitting?
they sit, it says release but if I walk a few feet away and come back they're already sandboxing elsewhere
the lights will move back to their normal orientation
And when they're doing that, do their options say "command" again, or "release"?

also fun side note, if you have a pack-in that includes interactable objects or movable statics those will also return to their original location over time.
keep this in mind when making decorated habs and using those as, a player will see those go back to where they were if they move them
OK, so something is knocking them out of favor state. The only things I've seen that do that in testing are commanding another NPC, leaving the cell, or fast travelling. Do you use any other mods that change follower behaviour or add activate options to NPCs?
Yes! I made all the junk in mine non interactive to avoid that
better NPCs, shades looting.
You could also try going to the lodge and getting Walter or another Constellation member to sit in a chair, walking around for a bit, and seeing if they get up.

OK, shade's looting adds activate options, but shouldn't conflict as far as I know as it doesn't add anything for friendly NPCs? Not sure about the other one.
I remember when the game first came out, I painfully walked a carrot box from a POI to my outpost miles away just because I wanted a damn fruit box.... and what happens.... it despawns hours later.
It's not, you can only command one NPC at a time. Commanding a second will release the first. Is that what's happening?

It's a game limitation, not something I can work around with my relatively simple mod unfortunately.

i made a new mod, Skully's Suit displays. A bug was reported that the game crashes when the user deletes the item. i have 2 versions of the mod, one standalon and one i put in the unreleased Emporium AIO update, Neither crash on me.

I need some help, I think there's a bug with Skully's Emporium AIO. For some reason whenever I download it, the sound cuts out for almost everything in the game. I can't hear dialogue, and most sound effects are muted and/or muffled. And main menu music is gone.

I have quite a few mods and generally everything is working fine. But now I can't touch anything in my settlement. If I move, add, delete anything my game crashes almost immediately. Every other aspect of the game and mods works perfect.

Was hoping to find a dedicated starfield mods suggestion place but I’ll just dump mine here and hope like hell someone likes a few.
- Half size bracer type module (all dimensions, just for easy offsets.. please please please!)
- Bays that drop 2x down for more dramatic ship shapes
- Wings (the X-wing shape can work well, but the engine pods need to go and snap points that give a normal spacing would be great at both sides of the wing. The sweep angles could be flippable and a few offerings of different dihedral and sweep would be fantastic. Also, the first mod to make a sweeping wing that has a passageway will be king)
- Half length habs
- Quarter length hab
- Cockpits with 2 wide have attach points
- stairs that incorporate the Y without loosing a habs space
- dockers that protrude out a little further (so when glitched they are visible and appears integrated into other parts)
- more vertical flip structures (particularly the big aspect flat parts and the thrusters, please the thrusters)
- Modular cockpit system (this one would be an ambitious undertaking that could allow stacking of upper, mid, center, various sides, and various appearance of function.. even including bays and dockers in the options)
- Decoration structural parts that look like piping and utility lines, electrical panels, mechanical access points, etc. interior and exterior. (Be really cool if some have different states landed or in space. Intermittent pressure relief, change color with throttle or weapon usage, etc)
- Loved the side door bay door idea, it needs some kind of fold out, collapsible, cheap looking stairs.
- Big elevator bays. How you gonna load a cargo hauler with a ladder?
- Deco grav drives and engines, with flips. (thought we had these already)

I probably should've put in the description .... there's a bit of a riddle quest that doesn't direct you at all and requires a bit of thinking comparative to the rest of the go-here-do-thing quests in the base game.

On the back side outside facing the water just past the switches that need to be powered up there's a spot on the ledge where you start to rise up as if in water.
the initial resort where it starts. walking the rim around the house will eventually put you in a weird water physics spot

water is really wonky in the game. In fact.. if you are under it at any point it will force the player to be above it.

Yeah, imagining what order players will do things in can be quite tricky. It's why a lot of original quests in BGS games can be broken easily, because they didn't account for all the weird things players will do in weird order. I struggled with this in the one quest mod I ever made, Rings of Swiftness for Skyrim. I ended up approaching it from the perspective of a player that wanted to intentionally break the quest, and I kept coming up with ways I could do so and having to adjust to prevent that happening by accident 😁

yeah i made a mod specifically for a bugged door quest in madam sauvages, you get locked out if you dont follow the npc.
I got a question to modders... I don't know which mod is causing this but I'm more confused on the how it's affecting it.
The missions boards have taken an affect to some mods. As of now I cleared it on matter darkstar ship, cheat terminal, a few graphic improvements. As well Locke and tracker alliance. But the mods of perks, ship parts improved, and perks is throwing me off for affecting the missions boards like free star Rangers.
this is why it should be linear if it's important and non-linear when it isn't essential
luckily in my case the door is not essential which is why its locked behind a riddle
you can totally figure it out without the quest pointing you in the direct location of where to look but..... that's nearly impossible to figure out without having the context of where you should look
the problem is the quest that tells you that will get overwritten if you don't read the log
so is there a way for me to get the right log or am I locked out of ever figuring it out

I downloaded a 3 mods for outpost support and a mod that was supposed to add hopetech ship parts to New Atlantis. Upon loading into the game and traveling to New Atlantis from my outpost on the same planet, I noticed something weird with the shipyard. Most of the area was just suddenly gone. So I closed the game uninstalled the mods and even went to a previous save to reload the area. Travel back to NA and when I arrived the glitch got worse. The entire shipyard and all NPCs were just gone. Not sure how to fix the issue.

there's probably a run script thats not firing. Make sure you have everything packed correctly

I searched the entire compound. Looted every item touched everything. Found several secrets but no key card. All my sleuthing came to dead ends. The log said the note on the door would help but my only lead was go to Neon. Im now 100% certain it’s not within the compound or on the planet.

Most likely. But you can ask a lot of other mod authors here. People are hateful for no reason. It's ridiculous to hate or leave hateful things on someone's page/videos/dms especially when most of you authors make these mods for free and don't have to make them or release them. Try to ignore them and focus on the positive ones. Don't let them weigh you down in your process of creating something great/amazing 💛

Well most of the functionality is there, it's got both dhd dialing mode and slow sgc style, I could in theory chuck it onto all the planets I want and have it just work

I have the iconic ships mod but the Bird of prey ladders aren’t working. All they say is activate, I click the “A” button but nothing happens

Could a Bethesda developer please show how to make terrain edits in a world work in the game? When I edit the terrain of a new world the changes do not appear in the game, it feels like something about the block system overrides the edit.
Hello, this quick video shows how to export terrain edits. It also debunks that the CK has to be closed, or that there is any sort of necessary converting process.
Now of course eventually you'll want to convert to an esm and archive your mod for uploading, but this is meant for while you are working on your mod and testing.

When it says "same name as terrain block" that means the name of the entire block, not the cell?
because from what I know a cell is the small 100x100 area while a block is the same as the game world that was created from the cut
I'm so sad. I downloaded tank girls new mod for Hyla II. It broke my game. It keeps crashing my game when I try to land on a planet with my ship. It's okay if I fast travel. But it seems like when I try to manually land my game freezes up then crashes. I put it at the top of my load order. Maybe a different spot? I want it so bad.
I have not tested it yet but I think, the name of the entire block
same name as the whole block or world
for example if my worldspace is MyWorldspace
the terrain needs to be called MyWorldspace.btd
but you cannot seem to export it directly as that. so What I do is name it MyWorldspace1.btd
then I chance the render window to another location, go into my file, delete the original btd and remove the number 1 from the new one

What breaks things are broken mods, not the quantity necessarily
As long as you're wary of what you're installing (quality of the mod) and not creating mod conflicts it should be fine, i think there's a limit of 110 mods or so on console which you shouldn't hit in normal circumstances

No it’s definitely how many since the changed CK, I ran about 15gb of mods that worked perfectly fine till they updated and i haven’t been able to play for weeks because of the crashes. So I’m trying to limit my mods in order to play the game and I wasn’t sure what the range was.
Size doesn't mean much either, you can have a broken 1mb mod and 100+ mods adding up to 100gb that don't break the game
Not sure where else to ask but if there is a modder willing, I would love to see a Martian trait available for XBox. While one mod has it as a background, I would prefer it as a trait, something befitting growing up on Mars. There is such a grittier vibe to Cydonia, it would be cool to see something specifically for that compared to New Atlantis.

The limits in quantity haven't changed though, if one or more of them just broke with an update it's something else. You'll have to do the annoying thing of disabling them all and checking the ones you suspect the more being the problem

Nexus mods plugin limit after mod support is 4000 small esm plugins, 256 medium plugins and 256 large esm plugins.
Its up to BGS studios to make sure esms dont randomly mess games after a certain plugin limit.
