There's actually a couple of mods I use that add in a lot of furniture and whatnot. But without those, outposts feel unbelievably bland.
Before outpost mods I use, I just built a few with a shipbuilder landing pad and a few workbenches, for when I needed to do stuff every so often in between trips to NA and Akila.

How to change NPC's look through CK? I edited Delgado's face in CK and switch the esm file on then headed into the game only to find out that Delgado became totally bald and hairless (witch of course is not the face I made in CK). Did I do something wrong??

I dont feel like it would be fitting, the copy from the other universe just has too little char development to be a viable companion unless it wil share the stats and skills with player. The standard copy no imo

I've had zero alternate universes
I have not had one either in 1200 hours of gameplay 😄 None of my chars ever hit up lvl 100 either though so i might be just short on getting one?🤷 There are by now mods that wil increase alternate universe chances. I use the 25% one but have not been able to go NG+2 yet and experience the mod 😄 But there are those that go higher. I have seen up too 75% increased chance to get an alternate universe

I've seen even a choose your universe mod. but what if I'm cozy in my NG10?
Make a hard save, pull it from the save folder into a secure place. Use mod and mess around. Once done remove mod, remove all affected saves and put back in the secured hardsave. Reboot game and go on in the universe you like 😄

We are not able to move the save, but we can delete the local save, and a automatic backup is download wen start the game, Tho for testing mods i always create a new save, and delete after finish playing I mean testing the mod, or if it work fine, I just add the mod to my regular save.
I don't know if you ever got an answer to this, but I know those things bake into a texture that gets put somewhere. However, the folder it places it into is based on the filename. Thing is, it includes the file extension, so while .esp works when you're building it, you have to change the folder name to .esm when you run it.
Mods I have installed to change Andreja and Barrett (Skully’s) both make them shaved to a fraction of a mm, and they are obviously not meant to look like that.

I appreciate all the work they are doing too, i have bought all the paid mods in support but kinda getting annoyed that more paid ones are getting added not by Bethesda, but creators themselves hence they are supporting bethesda in paid mods, i dont understand, i thought the community hated it? Like for example, a big city with shops and quests will have a price tag and the odd outfit change like the mandalrorian be free, I'm scared for the modding scene on this game if that is the case, I love mods and supporting but every mod that is good having a price tag would put me off the game. That's fair but the community wanted to strike on the prices for these mods and the way bethesda has set this up to work, even Todd Howard himself in an interview said the prices will be changed to benefit the community, but right now things still haven't been changed and people hate this system, so if your a creator for the community why would you support bethesda in paid mods, I would rather you upload to nexus mods and I'll send you a donation out of love once I've tried it and loved it 🥰

There's the temptation indeed between free publishing the mods or trying to make some from creations. I only wished the downloads on Bethesda would count towards DPs on nexusmods. I make the mods for the fun of making them, to have the nice feedback from the community. But sometimes it is a lot of work. I burnt out 4 years ago with my collectors mod for FO4. It was a lot of work. Got me no money and the community support was awesome. Even while I was absent the players were very supportive to each other. Still, it would be great to get an espresso worth of something every now and then

The colonists are set to be the same faction as the player. Do you use any mod which increases the amount of available turrets or adds some new custom anything to defend your outpost? Maybe I am missing adding some other needed faction or those might be
@vast crystal No, I have six turrets and no mods on defences. Two were MK III turrets and the other four were MK II (not enough mats when I built them originally). Two days ago, the MK II attacked Dogmeat and the MK III over top didn't fire so I attribute it to the bug on the MKII. I just swapped the MK II out now that I have all of my resources moved into location.

The crew management? You mean the other mod? Not yet, I will add flags to ignore bushes, trees and rocks soon, but I was busy with the beacon yesterday. I am almost finished btw. Nice about the workaround, what is it?

I launch the game again, now with sound back and go to the creations menu and bring up the load order. Recheck the disabled mod, exit creations, load my save and all is well with the mod as it was from my last save.
i had that issue, also i just rebooted my xbox and it fixed the problem
Btw, lemme ask for some feedback for the colonists... It would allow some interesting things, like the possibility of commanding them. Lemme ping @tulip rapids about this as well. It is to use the SetTeamMate command. Lemme place a link here about it. I would leave it as disabled by default with the possibility of changing it later, maybe in the Crew Command mod. What do you guys think?

You can disable them completely, which means they will not collect dropped weapons and clean up bodies. So I will add flags to allow them to keep that while not landscaping

Hey @vast crystal When you're free later I want to pick your brain about these mods. Particularly StarFinance because I want to get the stock market interface working.
Proper load order helps. As well as proper installation. Always exit game 100% and restart before and after any creations menu activity.
Oddlittleturtles mod order for starfield is as follows.

You can not reorder mods already loaded into a save game however.

I’ve been modding Skyrim for 2 years so I know but I followed a load order guide and some stuff just didn’t fit in any of them.
You can try to archive your mod list to beth.net. then delete your data in manage game files. Then re load your archived files to see if it's just from load disorder from adding mods randomly. Sometimes when adding mods mid save things get jumbled or you forget to reset before loading game. May be a quick fix. Worth a try

the issue is that without it, it is not possible to highlight non actors... no way to highlight ObjectReferences afaik

I think wen you load a save the game going to tell you, LO in the current save is change, and give you the option to use your current LO or the one in the save.
Also if I understand right the LO document all Bethesda official creations going on the top of the LO. I still working on my LO so i need to check if they work fine on the top or need to be change.

Well this one is just more a “cheat”. Im making shield generator sized grave drives and reactors to make it easier to make smaller ships without having to worry about where to put them or hide them.

It can vary, sometimes if you have a big load order it will prevent random elements of the game from functioning.

I know of six mod managers. Each with it's pluses and minuses. MO2, Vortex, Wyre Bash, Kortex, NMMCE (NMM Community Edition), and; of course, Bethesda's own "in game" offering.
Weird. So running just ascension or odyssey terminals work. But together they don't. But ascension doesn't even touch terminals

If it hangs on loading without going to load screen, you've got a mod conflict. Try disabling/removing the last mod you added

Figured out how to generate random news and keep the headline and content relevant. But it's going to take a lot of form lists and messages lol.
Basically building out different categories of news headlines and content and then basically going to be randomly picking them. Then the script will basically choose whether it's positive or negative news, then pick from the news categories, then it'll string together a headline with the company name, and the content and that should make it all relevant. It should give some realistic headlines that will let people make investment decisions in the stock market 😄

crew assignment is the missing factor when comparing build anywhere v outpost anywhere
what you're doing helps get around that though
there's one that improves their health and sneak etc and there's one that makes them starborns with powers
when I wrap this changes with the crew command, well... I am not sure which thing to do first... there are like 3-4 different mods that I am super eager to do... 1 can have a big impact, like the crew command had... and I can make it work in Fallout 4 as well... then there is one that I had a couple requests already. The other two are like, one of those fun mods that will probably have 100 downloads in a couple of years, but will be fun to make... and the last one, well... should be quick and fun to make... but, I just want to work on something not too troublesome for a bit hehe

I mostly made Spawn NPCs because I wanted Nyssa Marcano as my ship's bartender 😁
It is unfortunate that quite a few spawned NPCs won't have dialogue options outside their expected locations due to the way quests use location specifiers in Starfield that prevent dialogue from occurring elsewhere. But, those NPCs are still nice to put in immersive locations in your ship or elsewhere as decoration/set dressing, I suppose.

They're copies of the original. The original stays untouched.

how well do the vendors usually behave
Most of them aren't functional as vendors, but at least one of them is. I don't even remember which one - we could test all of them out and make a list, although it would only be applicable for inside ships and not just some random location, because some NPCs work fine in some locations and not in others.

It's built-in Starfield functionality, and I don't currently want to make duplicates of all the actors and quests in the game to force proper dialogue - this approach, referencing only the existing actors, took about 20 hours in the CK as is 😨
Cool; let me know what you find. I've done a fair bit of testing, but there's no way I could test 551 NPCs in every situation, so there are likely interesting quirks I'm unaware of.
This is why I moved Erase NPCs up on my To Do list, as without it this mod would be difficult to use unless you like loading saves a lot when you accidentally spawn two NPCs, or spawn one that doesn't work out the way you hoped 🙂

I should probably add some generic LeveledList NPCs like guards, and maybe even hostiles like Ecliptic, Spacer, etc. I could add crowd NPCs, but they'd all just walk toward exits and despawn like they normally do, lol.
Yeah, you can just erase them.
There are a handful you won't be able to erase, and that includes any that are immediately hostile since you can't initiate dialogue, but 99% of them can be erased with ease.

You just need to duplicate an existing Spaceship Module and customize as desired, then duplicate an existing space ship module Constructible Object and link it to your new Spaceship Module. Make sure you add the desired vendor keywords. I believe these should cover all vendors (so the part shows up at any ship vendor):

You could make it your own, but it will only show up at vendors that match that. You'll have to make sure your vendor has the right keywords, and I'm not sure if there's anything baked into the game we can't see that would override that. Copy what the existing ship technician vendors have, and see what happens.
(I haven't tried doing anything with custom ship technician vendors)

Since I was scolded for asking a Starfield Creation Kit question in the wrong channel and told to come here, I must once again explain my circumstance and ask my question.
Simply put, I screwed up and deleted the wrong batch of files. Now I need to get an ESP back. My backup/recovery software crashes trying to restore the file, so that door is closed to me. So now I need to turn an ESM back into an ESP. How do I perform this feat of prestidigitation?
Please, I need serious and knowledgeable answers only. There is no relief in xEdit, so don't bother with that route.

Despite the possibility that you can't do this via xEdit (I'm not sure), I'd still recommend asking on the xEdit Discord server under ck-modding - some knowledgeable folks over there with regard to ESP/ESM format and structure.

I think they deleted a batch of files (as in a group of files), including an ESP they want back.

it's confusing tho cause the backup folder is located in your root folder not data
there is a backup folder in your data folder but that is the wrong one
there should be at least 10 .bat files for each esm /esp
to get them to work just delete the .bat and they'll work just fine
No, the files in the Backup folder do not work. The CK pops and error message and closes.

A couple of times, yes. Have it uninstalled currently, as I don't use it much (it's honestly not all too useful right now... It's more of a proof of concept, for now) and needed to free up plugin space. But I liked it and saw the potential with it. Even told the mod author that when they make it more polished, I planned to create an "ISS 2.0" in orbit above Earth. 😂

@vast crystal Good morning! I tested the crew command on the star station just now. My settler performed well, he's running around with a knife lol. I was able to equip him with a better weapon and task him. He makes a mechanical static noise when you get close to him and the talk dialogue button doesn't do anything yet however.
I still can't get settlers to appear at my DreamHome complex since the original guy was killed. His corpse is still hanging around and he hasn't been replaced as yet. I assume it's because it's not a real outpost.
I'm awaiting settlers arrival at my other outpost on the planet and they should be fine once they do get there as it's a proper outpost site.
I'm thinking about going NG+ yet again so if that's case, I'll only use a proper outpost next time around, which should mitigate my current issues trying to make build anywhere mesh with restricted locations.

I think was a glitch with the MK II turret, I read that other players have had that issue as well before mods. I replaced those turrets with MK III so they should be fine

I use one that removes the requirements to level up.
Curiosity will do the same, as well as making perks like jetpacks baseline. I'm more concerned that maybe some star wars mod somewhere hooks into the specific vanilla laser perk and I'll only find out after I replace it. 😦

Can any of you help me getting an external load door to work? It's not from an exterior to interior, but simply to move up into another area of a ship - I can't use a ladder furniture because the landing bay hab I am using has no location for it, hence the use of a load door ladder. But it does not seem to work right
I select both door/ladders for teleportation but whenevr you click on the hatch, nothing happens

If you have time porting the new 'spawn npc' and 'erase npc' would be beyond awesome. I'm building a full community ship and also a multi beacon outpost town so bringing in the npcs would make this sooo much better. Like thecred mile bartender or Nyssa from new atlantis to tend bar in my bar hab in my ship.

Go back to creations menu, deinstal the mod. Close down game and reboot, go back into creations and redownload the mod. This should put back the files in order. Do not load save during this proces. Only after the redownload is completed load your save

Ah. It wasn't broken for me. But it was definitely an experimental mod, at the moment, so it isn't guaranteed to work the way you'd think it does... Unfortunately.
I'm waiting until Bethesda increases the available plugin limit, as well as waiting until the mod has had further work done to it before I give it another go tbh.

Are you sure you're clicking on the console? It is supposed to have an interact feature, where it opens a menu that gives a warning to read, regarding the mod/building your space station, then allows you into the ship builder to modify the prefab station.
Try running around that area in first person, with your cross hairs on the console, to see if you can find the activator for it.
If all else fails, try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Do you use Vortex, MO2, or manual install?
If you use Vortex, did it say there was any file conflicts? And if so, from what mod?
If there was one, try swapping them around to see if it fixes it.
If not, try disabling the mod. Then make a clean save without the mod, in-game. Then quit and reenable the mod, rebuild the station, and see if it works for you.
On another note... If you use Vortex, do you have Plugin Management enabled? Check and see how many ESMs are enabled, because the game quickly starts tearing itself apart after 110 ESMs are enabled, it seems. So if you have more than that (like I do...), then try disabling a couple you don't use often and then see if that also helps.

I want the leveled list options to be balanced but they all have to have a lower amount of items spawning so the scarce options are actually scarce.

Honestly the hardest part of this mod is going to be editing all the vanilla leveled lists and then creating multiple leveled list options for each category of item that has conditions.
It's just tedious as heck.
Making the actual gameplay options is the easy part lol

Yeah. The stock market was the first thing I actually implemented. Then banking. Then loans. I got all the core functions working, then moved onto the interfaces

Bounty hunters aren't implemented yet :/ That still needs some work as well. I have to make the NPCs and everything and figure out them showing up in space as well. Also have to figure out how to make them talk to the player on the ground and in their ship.
No idea. Best I can tell ya (and hate to be like this), is he will release it on Xbox when he's ready. Unfortunately, none of us can give an exact timeframe as to when other authors will port their mods, since it's not our mod. :/

Yeah the banking and loans work at least a little bit. The loan system has some bugs I can't replicate like the minimum payment being set to 0 and not getting calculated for some reason. Which breaks the loan system lol
The banking I haven't had many issues with at all besides like one random occurence where it withdrew the amount of credits rather than depositing them once but fixed itself after that
POI mods seem like the most important mods at this point. 🥹

Disable all of your mods, exit the game. restart the game and re-enable all of your mods. It's an issue with the creations implementation on xbox.

@pastel root ok. Got home amd tried. Now I remember why I stopped crossplay w/starfield. Keeps ctd (well, ctc) . I mostly play on my laptop while travelling to-from & waiting at airports each week. If you ever decide you're interested in putting in some time to make those pc compatible we can talk. I'd be willing to sponsor as I know time is valuable. Nothing wild, but I've set aside several hundred u.s. for potential donations. I know it's not = the actual time it would take (very few get into it for the $, or else its just a job) , but if an incentive/bounty would make a difference I'm happy to provide.

They look good! Just keep experimenting and seeing what you can get away with. Using the flip glitch helps a lot to finangle some parts into places they don't want to go 😄

It is huge if the companions can hang around there it's perfect even if you have like 50 companions on your ship using mods it is also possible to do that

Just be careful with some missions with oversized ships crashed 10 times yesterday trying to figure out what it was and it was because the ship was clipping when exiting and Barrett and my character spawned in under ground
Oh that's weird I've never encountered that and I'm at like 200 meter bug ship with mods
Simple fix was to land elsewhere and tp to the spot I wanted
Was on Barretts power mission
I'd land at the temple and crashed me constantly I landed next to it and tped there and was fine after

The issue might have been the small LZ and entering it from space

Outpost Limits Increased? And yeah I’ve just noticed it myself when entering NG+. Someone is reverting it back to default and probably need to add the AV to the SaveStarbornActorValues FormList. If you delete the mod (maybe try disable) reload the game. Load the Save file and make sure to click on current LO when the prompt appears. Create a new save and head back to creations. Enable or re-download the mod and the quest should Init. I lost all files to that mod so it’ll need redoing eventually

Behind the scenes it’s a quest but it’s so the script runs and sets the players outpost limit once it’s ran. With it been one of the first mods I did, it probably wasn’t created in the best way. “Into The Stars” is the only mod currently that’s been teaching me a lot about the CK so eventually I’ll redo all my mods without editing as many vanilla records as I have done to reduce conflicts & bugs

I'd do something similar to my Marry Almost Anyone mod for Skyrim, but I don't really see the value in a Romance Almost Anyone mod for Starfield.
We need someone like Volek or UniSL to show up and make a "My Home is Your Home" or "Relocate NPC - Your New Home" mod for Starfield. Then a bunch of other mods would suddenly be worth making.

I love the grave jumping but I hate the loading screen I wonder how hard it be to make a mod where you grave jump and your able to walk around your ship during jumping to another system

Star Wars warp dives take bit longer to to one planet to another though aka parsecs

Starvival drags out the grav jump timer if you don't power up the grav drive all the way
enabling it on a save that didn't include it worked, as suggested
Hello everyone, any modder here? I wish someone could add EM and particle beam blade mods for melem weapons, EM weapons add EM damage to knock out opponents ideal for stealth missions but lower the attack, PB mods would add energy damage but because the blade emits light you get worse stealth, there are two other options to keep the energy damage but also raise the ballistic dqmage as much as the alloy and high carbon blade
What do you think? I would suggest this to bethesda itself but I do not because their balance still favors guns, I think modhers could do it
