Most def, and maybe try and add something to make it easier to find all the temples after ng+ I feel like that would be handy not sure if it's already been done or not
From my understanding, the temples are in a different place every time you enter a NG+ so from a lore respective the starborn shouldn’t know exactly where the temples are already located and with the universe been an infinite size. It only makes sense to keep speaking with Vlad for his information on the temples locations
make a starborn power, temple sense. 1 use reveals the next instead of speaking to Vlad

Got the mods to work, it seems the game itself was just having issues or something because after like 10 hard resets it finally worked
Yeah it's been hard, can't go onto the Starfield subreddit anymore because every time someone talks about this thing I put a lot of work into it's always calling for refunds or saying how terrible me and Bethesda are for releasing a buggy product and there being nothing I can do to fix it. :/
One guy went on a tirade about wanting a refund because it didn't do enough damage (despite the base damage being higher than most of the other semi automatic pistols in the game)

No need for sarcasm; it really is interesting stuff presented there. Had never heard of it this pre loading before the plugins.txt load order. Will have to figure out how this plays with vortex and such, and now 3 parties are messing with load order: vortex, Creations, and apparently now a 3rd text file.
What sarcasm?.. O-o discord has abbility to have pinned messages. A post like that... with an actual fix for a rather serious issue is in my opinion worthy of a pin to help others be able and find that fix more easy... No sarcasm 😕

I had seen people with issues like that and some thought it was related to mod amount. Now it turns out not to be the amount 😄 always great when the community bands together including devs to find the issue and a fix too it.

H! Has somebody figured out how to add new cells to elevators? I duplicated the neon player appartment and wanted to add a button to the elevator in the lobby. Managed to do that, but when I click it in the game, nothing happens, the popup with the floors just closes.

Pretty sure I've fixed the shadow issue I was having, I ended up putting the Nomad spacesuit/armor towards the bottom of my load order and it hasn't happen since. Here's hoping I figured it out 🤞
Likewise I had that issue with the sw armor and the black visors for vanilla armor but seems to work after fixing the LO

Checked the new mods list this morning and was excited to see Dark Star Manufacturing dropped.
10 minutes of digging through what it changes and I am disappointed. His ship services mod is fantastic. This one feels far less rewarding.
All I want to be able to do is to use the benches already in the game and make my current gear Superior quality.
But apparently either the game itself makes that impossible, or no one has a mod that just lets players assign item quality.
As for the requirements to "earn" upgrade tiers, I already spent my 8 hours on the job in real life and I chose to spend what limited time I have outside of work and life responsibilities playing this game. I've spent 47 and a half days playing Starfield. This current character is level 140. I think I've 'earned' the ability to craft superior quality gear.
Just let me do the things.

I'm having more mod ideas I can't implement, so I'm throwing 'em out here:
- Mission tracking option for "track all local" that would show all the quest markers for the area you're currently in. Mostly useful in New Atlantis/Akila City/Neon.
- Some sort of system to bookmark locations; with a list on the map UI for easier fast travel targeting.
I spent more time trying to figure out the DS Manufacturing mod.
I'm still salty about it.
I've completed all the research I can. I had already completed all the vanilla game research for armor and weapons. I did all the additional sections I could, but I need a few "quantum essence" resource and nothing in the documentation talks about how to get those.
Also my character is double the level required to have items drop at advanced and superior,but nothing I craft is better than the most basic tier of stats.
Crafting using the DSM system does not unlock any way to upgrade or assign item tiers.
I was very much looking forward to this mod giving me to ability to craft better gear.

i mean CK has Material Editor, so i already have custom material that has proper .dds texture attached and my .nif file is properly loading in nifskope so essentially its a working assets that i just need to use huh

Yooo how can i export my mod to share. none of the .esm files work correctly! Its a NPC with a small quest and custom guns.
When you created the archive with any scripts etc did you collect external data & manually drop any missing files into the pack files box?
I didnt put anything there, nothing external was added
the whole small, medium, master is confusing

well basically the file hierachy for mesh and textures and materials are identical, only struggle you will have to find corespongind geometrt .mesh fine, i unpacked evertything tho or perhaps you mean something else

you need to use archive2 or b.a.e to unpack "SFBGS007 - Main.ba2" archive into your data folder
it contains every material .mat file and this .ini setting essentially tells CK to not look into that BA2 file and instead check the loose files and since you have unpacked that archive everything looks pink because it doesnt have any valid material files (which kinda responsible for all texture file links to your mesh)

yeah i already created one custom material and linked my custom textures for my .nif file except... you cant put new .nif files into game via CK and so i dont even know how ill implement my mod ideas
See I unpacked everything from the content resources zip file into data, I need to do the ba2 files instead?
i think those are just quest related stuff
ba2 files just have all the game assets
like meshes, textures etc
you dont really need to unless you have specific need for it like those materials for example

Yeah cause I tried deleting everything I transferred and moving one texture over last night to test and it showed up in the material editor but I got the rainbow cube and nothing would load or work

well you can use 3Dmax with a custom plagin provided by bethesda to convert your files into .nifs or use bridge addon for blender that does that job too. its tricky

So when the player enters unity i want it to save the players current QuantumEssence and Starpower actor value and then re-set the values once the new Game.Starborn has been created
I thought about saving it as a global variable to somewhere and then once the first quest initialises then itll set those values when you spawn in the guardian

Very likely that this isn't possible currently. It seems like the game or creation kit doesn't currently support replacing game sounds/music/voice lines

It turns out it was a problem with the Global Flag. After i removed that it started recognising the Actor Properties
I just need to test it and make sure its working but if it doesnt work with that global flag removed then ill try what youve suggested

I’m either blind or incredibly stupid but I can’t find a WIP category anywhere in Creations on the Xbox
Should be at the very bottom
Add the mod to your library on Bethnet, then in the Xbox creations menu, choose the option "Download all Creations in my Library"
You might wanna clear up your library as this will download everything in there that isn't already in your LO.
For some reason, the WIP section does not show up in the Xbox Creations menu.

I haven't updated my game and haven't really installed any new mods so. the only thing I did differently before that was updating my mod manager. My guess is it could be with how they implemented a change to fix the whole data files loading out of order issue

Oh for the Ltd tower? So if you go through the lobby you have to follow the steps as you doing the lobby if you go through the vents use the implant to shut off the fan and the markers will be normal if that's the quest you are talking about

I had a nap and then Fired Ze Missiles figured out that the 3-Star Armor and Weapon crafting mods I had installed were competing with DS Manufacturing, which was why I was not able to craft higher quality items.
Disabled the 3-Star mods and now DSM works just fine.
Though, it wants loads of very specific and extremely hard to get in bulk resources to unlock all the possible combinations. Which is doable, but annoying.

😄 Now to just figure out scripting the terminal. Need to find a way to make it dynamic. There's a mod for fallout 4 for dynamic terminals. Need to reverse engineer and recreate that for starfield. That way when new stocks are added by a mod the terminal can be updated. But everything else should be relatively simple I think 🙂

Bugs? As far as im aware its just an issue with the Flycam where you cant place an item at the end of the border but can easily be worked around by swapping to first person. Its only like 1m-2m from the border where the item clips under the map.
Ive checked the CK to try fix it but not had any luck as of yet but its only a minor a bug and easily bypassed by swapping to first person for a second while you place the item
Yes, I like to use the flycam to see the final result, but it's not really a problem since it works perfectly with the normal camera. I just wanted to confirm if it would be a temporary issue. Thank you for sharing it.

I did not experiment with any Starborn armor. His other mod has some included already, so between the two you should have the tools to make some ridiculous OP armor.
Also, if anyone else hasn't been hoarding absolute massive piles of resources, the DS Manufacturing mod requires a dump truck load of Caesium and High Tensile Spidroin.
Caesium can be bought at the Jemison Mercantile, UC Distro, the general store vendors on Gagarin and Akila, and I saw found on Dalvin(?).
HTS can be harvested (or produced if you have the skills) on Linnaeus II in the frozen Mountain regions. Look for the Frozen Palm plants.
And you can buy the Quantum Harnesses from the DS Trade Authority terminal at his specialized landing pad at any outpost you built one.
Knowing all of this earlier this morning would have saved some headache. Hopefully this helps someone else.

@pastel root Yeah pretty much. One of the things I thought was missing with outposts was some more regular building pieces. It's understandable that on a planet with no atmosphere you would want pressurized buildings but on livable planets regular buildings would be nice.

FYI You can set the .mat file for your mesh in 3ds max. If you apply a BSBlinnLayered Mat to your mesh and scroll down on the Materials node in the slate material editor you can select the .mat file for your mesh.
Initially I was using an external program to get the material ID and setting the material by hand. Doing it in 3ds max saves a whole lot of steps.
The only guns i use are the OldEarth guns (apart from the shotty) and the Magshear? The 50MI Array 75 round mag but has a 150 mag version with the fleet
If you want to have more than one collision shape for a mesh create a dummy object and make it the rigid body then link the shapes to the dummy object.

Okay so I'm trying to assign an NPC to a property in a quest script, but for some reason I just straight up can not pick one. Any ideas? I know the property line is formatted correctly and all that, and I can pick an ActorValue with ease, just not an NPC. Worst case I'll just try to figure out how to manually assign it.

Actually tested the planet theory myself and the timer will only trigger once, once the sleep/wait is done. The timer system get's blocked by it. But they are just globals so if you are on pc you can just set the variables yourself with the console
their not out of date they are still quite useful

One thing that is very cheezy is buying a stock when it is near 0 in bulk and generally these types of markets will always go back up
since stocks can't crash and fully burn (unless they are coded to)

Atm interest for the bank is a static number but once I figure out the dynamic economy it'll adjust the economy factor which will adjust the interest rate for banking

The ship weapons use ammo update actually has some gameplay options which I figured out
Now there's an option for how much ship ammo drops in loot or is sold by vendors
I'm working on a loot scarcity mod as well which introduces gameplay options for each type of item but it'll be a pain because I have to make so many leveled lists with conditions based on the gameplay options. Also have to lower the base amount so that when it says scare, it's actually scarse lol

Any time you mess with your mods, you gotta hard reset to clear the cache.
I think it's going to loop again now, where it tells me I have to download the mods I download them and it says all of them are downloaded

Ran into a peculiar issue with my game, attempting to modify the Big Bang weapon immediately crashes my game meanwhile every other weapon is just fine. I suspect a mod conflict is causing it but I'm lost on which
You happen to know if the CK has the options to make a button lowered weapon mod? The gist of the mod is you hold reload/sheathe to lower the weapon and hold reload/sheathe while the weapon is lowered to sheathe the weapon, ADS key to raise the weapon. Just adds an additional animation, that’s the same as when you’re pressed up against a wall about to peek out, before sheathing the weapon.

Just an fyi there’s a bug when loading a save that doesn’t have the same mods as before and you try to download them from the main menu a lot of them won’t download. Sometimes it’ll bug out and also corrupt your save.
The thing is it has the same mods, I didn't add it re.kve any, I just had to go redownload them all one by one, but when I loaded it up it says I have to download them still and just loops me between download, al.is download...

Could be a mod that corrupted your save. There’s some mods that have been super finicky

The game auto sorts only some of them. Most of them should be manually sorted based off of previous mod load orders.

Only way is to ask or do tons of research. I know how you feel. Like several saves on fallout 4 because I had no clue about load orders. Load orders can be very tricky at times. A lot of the time it’s not always black and white. You’ll find a grey section where you’ll never exactly know where a mod should go.

Safe tip in my opinion is never add mods to your main save. Test them on a separate save until you have a working load order or have a better understanding of what’s messing up.

The thing is These mods were all working well together 2 days ago, I haven't downloaded new ones, but out of nowhere they stopped working right @tulip rapids so For vendors have more inventory it works with the Nomad armor where the vendor carries a ton of armors and gear like all.of the Noman armkr some in legendary, now the vendkr onky had maybe 1 or two of them.
Like they did before the mod.
And when I downloaded the Simons says Strip all mod I was able to remove all my companions gear and force them to wear the Halo armor .. now it just shows me their ammo and weapon inventory Tory unless I give them other stuff but can only remove the stuff I give them
No one will know without knowing what mods you have, or what mods you have recently downloaded.

90% of my mods just cosmetic armor mods I have four mods that improve performance that are the only ones available and I have three weapon mods is the blackout version for the drum beat gun and then I have the Star Wars skins for the NBC’s which there are three

I think it's the unity crossing that messes up the mods.

I mean, four days ago I had the perfect load order down to almost every mod just in case you guys needed help with orders I get on today. I can load up the game go to upgrade my guns at the workbench and the game crashes. The armor bench works fine. Craft bench works fine. It’s just the weapon bench that is crashing my game.
You might have to do what I did, which was clear the save data on my Xbox and try to load the game up again, it's going to ask if you want to download your mods again... If it's like mine it will download all and than ask if you want to download your mods again, which means force ose it go back and download each mod again individually and try loading an old save file

Unplugging your system for a couple minutes sometimes helps. Other method is clearing your reserve but that deletes your load order.

Ok so more vendor inventory works good, I think it's the Nomad armor mod that might have gotten nerfed cus the trade authority inventory uses to have tons of it and in legendary now it has maybe one

I'm creating a Reputation System mod I'm dubbing Starfield: Honor
Completing Faction Specific Mission Board Missions will reward the player with 25REP, but hit the opposite with -15 (future plans are for the player to become hostile once they hit a low enough point, say -500REP)
Currently it rewards a lower vendor buy price for higher reputation
Currently I need help deciding a few things:
- Would the above balancing act of the system be something people like to engage with?
- What rewards would people want? XP, Credits, Special Perks, etc? For special perks, are we talking weapon bonuses (say Freestar gives sidearm bonuses, UC Rifles)?
- Should Constellation be a standalone faction, or should their missions reward all factions with some REP?
- Should the Crimson Raiders be a faction, and if so, would players want to see them give all factions negative rep in order to make being a pirate more dangerous?
- Should Ryujin be a faction, and how should they be handled? Standalone completely?

Ive started simple and just buffed some weapons and had them load into the lodge. Also made my own recipe to make Aurora and set the prices higher.
Ideally i want to add more armor/spacesuits into the game
learning that as i go as well, something ive dabbled in time after time

hi, I'm playing around with the CK and was hoping someone could help me with something (sry it's prob really basic, but am really new to this)
when I create packins, if I want to create a misc object (interactable) from them, how do I find their nif files? where do they get created?
in some tutorials I watched for FO4 CK there seemed to be an export nif button for static collections, but I can't see anything similar in the packin object in SF CK

Has anyone used the BGS 3dsmax nif tool? I used an externally imported model and after exporting it as nif the collision didn't take effect, but using a model made in 3dsmax the collision information was correct after exporting it, does anyone know the cause of the problem?

I don't recall who, but I know someone else wanted to more easily get to the Lair of the Mantis bedroom, so I included that as well, and since going back and forth to the Eye or the Lodge to talk to Vlad about temples is a slog, those two are in the box as well. 50-something locations for now, but I'll take requests and flesh it out more over time.
Unfortunately, the temples are pretty weird, so I've left them out for the time being. There are only 16 of them plus the Buried Temple, even though there are 24 in the game, because the game reuses some of them and renames them accordingly (why they didn't just make 1 instead of 16 is strange, but maybe they changed their mind about the system halfway through making the game or something). I could make teleport rings for those 16, but you'd have to try all 16 randomly to hope you get to the one that's currently set up...
Also, teleporting into your own ships seems a bit beyond my reach at the moment, since those are also partially created in-game, with a few exceptions. I'll tinker and see what I can come up with.

It's official content. Does it use assets from the gravis suit? If it does, then you'd have to add the gravis suit as a master.

Should be non-issue then. As long as the assets aren't just used without the master, then it should be fine.
You'll, of course, need to let your players know they need the DLC. You should be able to add it under the Dependencies tab when you fix up your creation.

with the SF CK wiki still not accessible to non-verified creators, can someone pls let me know if it's actually possible to add preview art to the outpost build menu with the CK? or is it currently bugged?
I've tried various things, trying to mirror what I see on vanilla objects (like creating a custom transform, assigning it to the workshop icon for the respective item) but nothing seems to work
not sure if I'm missing something or if it's just not working as intended at the moment
a lot of mod showcase vids I've seen seem to have missing preview art in the builder as well
sry should have mentioned, in the custom transform object in the CK I can see preview icons display correctly, but in game it just shows an exclamation mark in a circle
if anyone wants a tighter ship turn... find that setting on Ck - Gameplay tab, it reduces the area map circumference of moving/turning the ship...

Hey @sly ocean would you consider porting your 200 ship slots to PC? There is no mod like this for PC that is currently working.
Inquisitor would you be willing to make a button lowered weapon mod? Pretty much just hold reload/sheathe when the weapon is up to lower then hold reload/sheathe again to put away weapon. It’s the animation that you see when you get really close to a wall before peeking out to shoot. No one had made one yet that doesn’t require SFSE because it has to be a first person only. Third person is what requires the script extender. Not sure if you know anything about animation mods. A lot of us on Xbox would love to see someone do it and you have a track record of putting out a lot of good mods

It will be interesting to see where this goes. The Nexus enabled very complex mods at the cost of a very steep learning curve, and Beth.net fell behind because those mods couldn't be ported easily. But when people prioritise consoles, we may see a mod scene revolving around content additions with a few simple core overhauls.
It is exciting indeed! I stop playing starfield for a long time, and only came back when the creation kit was released. It's been great. It does feel like a different game and even with the previous updates. I did not imagine PC was only a fraction thou.

Even the word "creation" instead of "mod" implies a certain kind of mod, and we are indeed seeing it in spades. Early Skyrim was mostly a ton of gameplay mods; early Starfield seems to be almost entirely new content. 🙂

I am trying to figure this out... I missed something for sure but... so this is my first custom location. marker is there, I can travel to it no problem. Buuut image 2 is edited by me, I made flat area to build, error is... when I port to location its like in image 1. Game doesnt register changes at all. Terrain file is packed and exported normally with no errors :/

1 pasture for 2-3 horses, give them water troughs and make sure your plumbing is sturdy, and give them hay, protein tubs, salt blocks during the summer, and dewormer every year, plus vaccines every 3 to 6

oh and make sure to exercise them regularly and check their feet every few weeks and trim their hooves, also if your looking for a horse thats low maintance dont go for a throughbreed, those things have feet that are pain to maintain and they always look thin

Big John was a cart racer until he was injured. They tossed him to auction, the Amish got him, they abused the hell out of him and then threw him away at auction
It took 6 months to be able to touch his face without him flinching like you were going to beat him half to death

Big John has come a long way this year he’s been here. He just started frisking my pockets for treats. He’d never had a treat before. He doesn’t understand carrots and apples are food. I have to get this certain type of treat that reeks of alfalfa, or he won’t eat any treats
