I have gotten asset watcher to convert a .fbx but it has issues. It won't load into nifskope and no .mesh file is generated it seems.

Apparently, by default, AssetWatcher embeds mesh into .nif (I didn't even know this was possible for Starfield). To generate separate files (.nif + .mesh), you need to set this parameter to false.

Yeah so for example, i made 2 reactors using the M class parts by duplicating it and the way i did that, was by searching for example Muon and there is a SMM_ and a co_ file. One of those contains the values for power, health, hull etc etc so search up your module and check either of those 2 files until you find it if that makes sense haha

Haven't really looked into that sort of stuff. When you copy a npc I don't think it copies all the data. Might be a faction the npc needs to be in.

@red briar For the mod you wish to upload that is nif only, use the new Asset Watcher to convert it from FBX to the appropriate format for the game and then create a dummy esm.
You should be able to manually add the files to the archive

well im not going for something as complicated just vanilla stuff for now. I did already dealt with my custom robot npc, i even found tool that generates robot voice equal to Vascos (although i still wonder what kind of TTS did bethesda itself used for robots). and that issue with custom ship sellers not working is like the only thing i cannot deal with. Is there any mods that add custom ship sellers already? could just watch how those works
Xbox players. Anyone having issues with the load order just not loading? I’ve had to redownload the whole game multiple times and the load order just doesn’t load and corrupts my save file.

It doesn't seem to matter if Starfield is set to ovveride using loose files or not Starfield will crash if you have all the materials extracted into the data folder.

Last I'd heard/checked, the reactor and grav drive limits were hard coded in the exe. An SFSE DLL mod was required to bypass that.

I know it wouldn't make sense, but Starfield still trys to load all the materials loose even when overriding is off.
Yeah i was speaking with NexussFire and he did the exact same and came to the conclusion it is 99.99999% hard coded. I have decompiled the Cheat Engine script that gave me the Hex Values then Nexussfire recommended to check with xEdit and see where it points to then a script could possibly be made
And I believe I have gotten a custom Nif file working with materials and collision but still need to test.

So the collision worked correct in first person but not third person wierd... The materials worked in editor but not in game aswell.

On Bethnet, just add the WIP mod to your library. Then in the mods menu on Xbox, press start and choose the option "Download all Creations in my Library". That's how I've been able to use the WIP mods that are not showing up on Xbox.

Also, I figured out what was causing my issue yesterday. It was this mod. Even when disabled, it was causing the endless reloading loop for the mods menu and not allowing me to load a save. I was able to get mods working again after taking this mod out of my LO.

anyone know of any way to convert statics to moveable objects? i tried creating a new moveable object with the same mesh as the static, but it doesn't move in game 😦 looks like there's a mass setting that i can't edit. is there maybe a weight setting i could edit in the actual mesh with nifskope or something?

One thing of note for others Starfield doesn't like to load custom materials loose in the materials folder. If you pack them in a archive they will work.

i have two in specific but im not sure if they will implement correctly or not. One is a small vehicle to traverse the planets (kinda like a speeder from starwars) the other is a commander mod. Have a radio to call on spacers for credits.

Have fun 🙂 I will say I enjoy my ship interior a lot more with 30-something crew members. I didn't know you could stack multiple of the same generic crew, so I guess someone could actually achieve 200+ crew without even using any other crew mods. But, hopefully some new custom crew member mods come soon.

My suggestion would be find a pre existing ship you like and slowly rebuild it. That's what I'm currently doing with my star eagle. Hundreds of hours in and Im only just starting ship building

In the BSLightingShaderProperty under name put the path to your material file. Then in the NiIntegerExtraData put in the material id of the material.
OK so I figured out how to do a custom MAT file, this can be applied to most things.

I keep getting Arrested for "Contraband" just so UC SYSDEF can goat me into doing the Crimson Fleet Missions and I KNOW I don't have contraband on my ship
instead of it being just like a rare item here and there I think it should be something that can be produced and farmed for profit. Naturally I would make the contraband items less valuable but have a somewhat variable trade system where you would do smuggling runs

ATM it’s a work in progress so I don’t think there is actually anything for us to use, yet. Best to wait for an updated version of the mod IMHO.
If you go to the Creations website, you can log in, see your library and all the mods uploaded to Creations atm.
Top right hand corner of the screen, log in. You can download or bookmark mods through the website that’ll do the same on your Xbox.

On Bethnet, just add the WIP mod to your library. Then in the mods menu on Xbox, press start and choose the option "Download all Creations in my Library". That's how I've been able to use the WIP mods that are not showing up on Xbox.

If you have the Play as a Chiss mod, it's what's causing it, even if disabled... I had that same issue and getting rid of the mod fixes it... But you might have to clear your reserve space

I noticed it crashing on the Chriss mod and opening up the creations just kept everything reloading constantly, After many many clear reserves later I Selected the download all mods from library option and as soon as it had cycled through to the chriss mod and downloaded to 100% it would crash the game.
I never got that crash, but just the reload loop. Couldn't even load a save to play... It was annoying 🤦🏾♂️
May be the best method for figuring out which mods are causing crashing by selecting the download all from library till it cycles through to the one which is bugged

Day 3 of Blender n00b tries to get the Gravis suit into Blender so he can edit it. Here's where I'm currently at. I've imported every .nif, .dat, and geometry file from the BAE export that Blender can recognize and this is what I've ended up with. There are textures in the export too, but I have no idea what to do with them.
As you can see from the second and third pics, the neck is part of the upper body mesh rather than the helmet. I'm trying to make the suit modular, and with the neck like this wearing a helmet with another suit results in invisible neck. All I'm trying to do is remove the neck from the upper body and put it on the helmet, nothing else. I'm using Blender 3.6 with the Geometry bridge and the updated dll. Any ideas?

I would suggest clearing your reserve space first, if you haven't already. Then try reloading your LO.
You have to clear your reserve space to resolve this. I had the same issue but with a different mod, "Play as a Chiss"... Even if that mod was disabled, it would still cause the reload loop. You have to clear your reserve space, which would delete all your mods installed but you'll be able to download and play saved games again. Remember to not install the 2 aforementioned mods to avoid the reload bug.

What's weird is when I remove the mod, game works fine. Just whenever I try to actually install it it does that
If you're able to remove the mod without clearing the reserve space, then you should be fine... Just don't use the mod as it is causing a reload loop bug.

Not determined yet... But the mod system is still new so it could be an issue on both ends... Especially if the mods are ported from PC... Mod authors and porters are still learning so give it time. We'll have a proper mod scene like Skyrim/FO4 in no time. These MAs/Porters are great

Wait for a minute or 2.
Then plug back in and power up.

I would also advise doing this method after clearing the reserve space if you're willing to go through that again. As that would just clean it up better.

So read the preface... Then click on the LO template in the tabs and use that to try to sort your mods... It's a bit of a learning curve but DM me if you need further assistance

Well you don't have to use it directly, use it as a reference... Open in your browser if possible... If it has the option to load it as a desktop site, do so as it'll be easier to read.
The template has descriptions to the side. Basically I just open up a note and write down my mods in the order of how the template has it.
It's the best way really since we don't have mod organizers for console.

The way we did it on the official forums was to play test and discuss the results and then evaluate things with xEdit

I did things by order of importance for the load order but that might have to change as mods come out as to what mods are doing what.

I tried to give the most layman terms possible. Have you played Arbitration on FO4? The MA has a list of settings they changed on the nexus mod page. Those are the settings I was referring to. There are hundreds that change various things to tweak them
I haven’t played that on FO4
Look at the mod page so you’re familiar with what they’ll look like when reading descriptions

would you know why companions and crew can't walk into a building made with CK? if you're bored enough to discuss.
Navmesh issues might be the reason. But also there is an issue with AI packages that Im only half way familiar with. Companions aren’t something I’ve looked into yet.
One of the other creators might have more insight as they create things and find work arounds
if the buildings have a load door, the navmesh triangle under the door needs to be changed to a teleport triangle
does the person who made tg player homes do social media like y'all? didn't see a way to contact them

In this case, make sure the navmeshs are properly connected between each room
they seem to cut off either halfway up entry stairs or they won't get anywhere near the area of it's placement.
does sound like navmesh. ty. maybe she didn't do them at all
perhaps show a screenshot of how you gotta it setup on the stairs? Note, the triangles need to go up stairs like an inclined plane, not stair step by stair step
You should just be able to drop the nav markers in, I thought?

(Actually I havent tried navmeshing in SF's CK and running off memory from FO4)
You can do it manually or drop in nav markers and it will do it for you.
Kinda like splines from FO4 but on a navmesh thing. I haven't done any render work so I not familiar with how exactly they're done.
Once I can actually use the render window, it looks a heck of a lot easier than manual editing.

Would anyone be able to make a mod to have markers for special ships, especially the Starborn trader, the Constant, the legendary ships and the Vigilance? I'm not smart enough to do it myself and have forgotten where I found the Trader and the Vigilance has disappeared

in order to not mess up with other mods and etc i created separate quest for my character dialogues and stuff, just slowly finishinig with scripts part
i was so happy to see a dialogue just to immediatelly get disapointed a second later because it doesnt work
guess i missed some other important bit
ngl i wish i had someone more experienced to ask about how this whole system supposed to work and maybe show my file for check just in case i missing some small silly bit
